  2. Okay, so we’d like to think we’re connoisseurs of cake in Disney World because we’ve eaten a LOT of cake throughout the entire resort. Rapunzel Berries and Cream Cake We’ve had all kinds of cake, too, from that Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake at Liberty Tree Tavern to super fancy and pricey cakes at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers to the double-frosted cakes at Gideon’s Bakehouse. So it’s a good thing we love cake. Well, we just found out that a NEW cake slice has arrived at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and well, we had to try it out for ourselves. Because, well, again, CAKE. You’ll find the new Rapunzel Berries and Cream Cake at Landscape of Flavors at Art of Animation. This cake is a Vanilla Cake with Lemon Cheesecake Mousse and Blackberry Jam for $6.49. First, you’re just going to have to take a moment to look at it because it is BEAUTIFUL. All those pretty colors (and a melted chocolate medallion which is ALWAYS going to melt in the heat…Disney, and you think you’d know better). But we love that it has some pretty icing that looks like Rapunzel’s long braid. Rapunzel Berries and Cream Cake The cake itself tastes like it came from a box, but just so you know, we like boxed cake — it’s pretty tasty. It’s light, fluffy, and moist. This cake, though, was not super dense, so it was more airy, which was nice. It also had that lemon cheesecake mousse piped into it with a light lemon flavor that complemented the sweet and fruity flavors of the blackberry jam. This is a flavor combo we can get behind! Inside Rapunzel’s braid tasted like vanilla buttercream, and there wasn’t so much that it overpowered the rest of the cake. Overall, this cake would win over even the brauniest ruffian at The Snuggly Duckling, and we think Rapunzel herself would like it, too. WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! 3. If you’re a big Spider-Man fan, we have a feeling you’ve probably been to Avengers Campus in Disneyland to meet Spidey, see him soar across the rooftops, and ride WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure (which is one of the best arm workouts EVER). ©Sony Okay, it’s us, and yes, we’ve done all those things. We’re also eagerly awaiting more updates about the NEXT Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Well, Sony just posted a teaser for the film today, which just happens to be Spider-Man Day, teasing something that’s going to be brand-new in the movie. Well, it’s pretty obvious that this is a close-up of Spider-Man’s suit, and it’s different from the previous suits Tom Holland has worn in the movies. So we’re guessing that the brand new thing is Spidey’s suit! However, it looks similar to the suit we saw at the end of the most recent Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home. ©Marvel Of course, we’re going to be waiting a while to get a good look at the new suit. Spider-Man: Brand New Day doesn’t release until July 31st, 2026. Yep, almost a whole year of waiting. Hopefully, though, we’ll get a real trailer soon, and maybe we’ll see the suit then. 5. Sometimes, the trick to a perfect meal at Disney World is stepping outside of the theme parks and heading to a Disney Resort. While it might feel out of the way, there are lots of resorts only a few steps away from the parks, waiting to offer you what could be your new favorite restaurant. Disney’s Yacht Club Just a short walk from EPCOT, you’ll find Ale & Compass, located in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. We’re bringing you a full lunch review to see if it’s worth the stop on your next Disney World vacation. Atmosphere Welcome, sailors! Ale & Compass is a coastal-inspired restaurant designed to evoke the ambiance of a cozy lighthouse. With darker lighting and nautical elements, the restaurant continues the Yacht Club theme throughout, featuring comfortable booths, chairs, and tables. Dining reservations are highly recommended, which can be made through the My Disney Experience app; however, walk-up reservations may also be available. Ale & Compass We love this restaurant as an oasis away from the chaos of the theme parks. It’s filled with air conditioning and features darker lighting, which isn’t so dark that you can’t see, making it a great spot to take a break from EPCOT. Seating There’s also bar seating at Ale & Compass Lounge if you’re looking for a more casual dining experience. Comfortable seating Now that we’re here, what’s on the menu? Menu Ale & Compass offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering New England comfort food, classic seafood dishes, and favorite American meals. We went for lunch, which runs from 11:45 AM to 2 PM and has starters, salads, flatbreads, and main plates. Menu There are also cocktails, beers, and wines, along with a kids’ menu with a variety of familiar favorites. The lunch menu is smaller than their dinner menu, but it is a perfect combination of breakfast and dinner offerings. Menu The menu looks delicious, so let’s eat! Eats We started with the Parker House Rolls and Spreads for $14. These rolls are served with Bacon Jam, Pub Cheese, and Citrus Butter. Parker House Rolls Every time we eat at Ale & Compass, we get these rolls because they’re just that good. They’re crispy on the outside but so fluffy on the inside. The spreads stick easily to the bread, and the top has flakes of salt on it, so you get a little salt with every bite. They’re easy to share, and you get a great amount of spread to bread ratio. The citrus butter was bright and acidic, reminding us of summer. It wasn’t overwhelmingly acidic but had an outstanding balance and was topped with salt for a little bit more texture and flavor. If you’re a traditional bread-and-butter type of person, this is going to be your go-to. Citrus Butter The pub cheese is similar to pimento cheese but without the larger chunks. It was so smooth and had chives on top to add some freshness and a bite to it. You can find this spread on other menu items, and it was our favorite of the three. Pub Cheese For those who love savory flavors, you’re going to be obsessed with the bacon jam. It was very meaty, but the texture was smoother than you would expect because of how finely chopped the bacon was. It still spread easily on the bread and balanced out the cheese and the butter. Bacon Jam Then we had the Seasonal Market Vegetable Flatbread for $17. This flatbread is Market-inspired by the Season, and during July, we were served French Onion Soup Flatbread, which was changed every few months. French Onion Soup Flatbread It had shreds of beef on top that were salty and easy to bite through. The cheese was melted on top, keeping everything in place, and the actual flatbread had crispy bubbles of crust on the sides. The flatbread had a bit of chew and wasn’t too crispy, and it really brought in the flavors of the soup without having to eat soup in the middle of summer in Florida. It was salty and savory and was a decent size to easily share amongst the table. Bubbly bread For our main plates, we had the Cheddar Burger for $25. This burger features Applewood-smoked Bacon, Tomato, Pickled Avocados, Sunny-Side-up Egg, and Herbed Mayonnaise, all on a House-made Bun. Cheddar Burger We’ve tried different versions of this burger in the past, but the new version focused on the cheddar. The first thing we noticed was the size! It’s a huge burger and topped with that beautiful sunny-side-up egg, and as soon as you smash that top bun on and slice through, it’s going to get messy. With all of the different toppings, this burger got messy fast, and the bottom bun struggled to keep everything together. The patty was juicy and thick, and we asked for ours to be served medium. The bacon was chewy and thick, and the cheese helped keep the toppings on the patty (but in the bun is a different story!). Good fries, too! While we were excited for the pickled avocados, we didn’t think they tasted any different than regular avocados. The whole burger was a delicious, classic burger that was savory and packed with all the toppings you could ever want. It’s not the most exciting burger in the world, but it’s a solid option to choose when you want traditional flavors. The fries were also crispy, and we enjoyed dipping them in all the sauce that fell off the burger. It’s messy but delicious! We also had the Fish & Chips for $20. The Fish and Chips are served with House-made Vinegar Chips and Lemon-Caper Tartar Sauce. Fish and Chips Another big serving! The fish was crispy and flaky, and we loved how it wasn’t greasy. The fries had a great salt and vinegar bite to them that took the traditional fry but made them a little bit more fun. The tarter sauce was also a standout with the briny flavor of the lemon and capers that enhanced the taste of the fish. Like the burger, this isn’t the craziest fish and chips we’ve ever had, but it’s of excellent quality and a solid option when you want something you know you’re going to enjoy. Tartar sauce If you know Disney Food Blog, you know we aren’t leaving without dessert! We got the Seasonal Cobbler for $9. Right now, it’s fresh fruit with vanilla gelato. Cobbler Our cobbler was filled with different types of berries. It wasn’t too sweet or tart or sour, but had a really lovely balance. We thought it reminded us more of a compote with a crumb layer on top instead of a traditional cobbler. The top tasted a bit on the raw side, and while we personally don’t mind the taste of raw dough, it might not be everyone’s favorite. The ice cream on top was super icy and had that classic vanilla flavor that melted beautifully on top of the cobbler. Drinks For drinks, we had the New England Cherry Swirl, priced at $17.50. This drink is a mix of Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Lemon Juice, Pure Maple Syrup, and a float of Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon. New England Cherry Swirl This drink was a hit! The bourbon was from one of our reporter’s favorite distilleries and reminded us of a drink we had at GEO-82, the adults-only lounge inside Spaceship Earth, for about half the price. You’ll want to give this drink a good swirl because the wine stays on top while the bourbon sits below. Despite being a Cherry Swirl, this drink is not overly sweet but has the flavors of lemon juice with a bit of maple syrup on the back of the sip. We’ll definitely be ordering this one again. We also enjoyed the Seaworthy Breeze for $15.50, made with Yacht Club Vodka, featuring juices of Grapefruit and Cranberry. Seaworthy Breeze The Seaworthy Breeze was definitely on the stronger side! It tasted mostly of vodka, while the grapefruit and cranberry were more subtle flavors in the back of each bite. Vodka cranberries are typically a great introductory drink for those trying to get into different drinks, but be warned that this version is very strong and might not be everyone’s favorite. Nosh or Not Ale & Compass needs to be on your list if… You are looking for a nicer dinner nearby to the parks that is easy to get reservations for You prefer traditional dishes that you know you’re going to enjoy You love a relaxing atmosphere and a longer dinner You might want to skip this restaurant if… You are looking for more unique dishes or options You want a quicker and more affordable meal You don’t want to travel outside of the parks or to a different resort Appetizers Overall Ale & Compass is always a favorite! They have consistent food and menu items we know we’re going to like. We won’t visit without having the Parker House Rolls, and we love how shareable the appetizers and entrees are. It’s a relaxing spot where we can escape the chaos of the parks, and it’s usually easy to snag a reservation. You might overlook this random restaurant, but it’s truly a fan favorite that we always keep in our back pocket when we need it. We’re still dreaming about our lunch at Ale & Compass, and while we book another reservation to get our hands on more Parker House Rolls, make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for all the best food reviews you need for Disney World. 8. Disney Adults also seem to be big McDonald’s fans. Of course, a lot of us were raised on Happy Meals and probably have quite a collection of Happy Meal toys. Yes, we even tried to collect all the Disney 100th Anniversary Happy Meal toys when they were released. Happy Meal Well, if you’re looking to see what Happy Meal toys are coming up next, we’ve got big news for you. McDonald’s just released a first look at the new toys, and they’re the mash-up we never expected. McDonald’s has combined two pop culture icons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Hello Kitty, and turned them into new epic mash-up Happy Meal toys. That means you’ll be able to get many of your favorite Hello Kitty characters dressed up like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We’re still not sure if this idea is weird or brilliant (but we’re leaning towards the latter). ©McDonald’s We don’t know about you, but we have a strange feeling that these are going to be super popular. You’ll be able to order this new Happy Meal starting on August 12th, so mark your calendars! Until then, you can still grab the Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal that comes with toys inspired by items you might see in McDonald’s restaurants, including mini french fries, a mini Boo Bucket, a mini cash register, and more. Yes, our miniature-loving hearts had fun with this collection, too. ©McDonald’s Also, don’t forget that McDonald’s has brought back the much-loved Snack Wrap, so you might want to add that to your order, too. 9. Many Americans are toning down their discretionary spending and turning up their “revenge saving”, which may cause problems for Disney World. The site of an empty Magic Kingdom may become a bit more common. The concept of “revenge saving” is the idea of putting more money aside for savings than they were previously. According to CNBC, the “The U.S. personal saving rate — the percentage of disposable income that U.S. households save, after they pay taxes and spend money — has risen sharply this year, reaching 4.5% in May, according to Bureau of Economic Analysis data released Friday. That is slightly down from 4.9% in April, but up significantly from 3.5% in December.” Experts speculate that there are several factors influencing this change in behavior, including “fluid tariff negotiations, the prospect of higher inflation and interest rates lingering at higher levels longer than some expected.” In addition, concerns about the world’s geopolitical state and potential social unrest likely also play a role. “Revenge Saving” stands in direct opposition to the concept of “revenge spending,” which took root for the initial period following the apex of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, there was a large uptick in discretionary spending, including on travel, as many who had built up a backlog of disposable income during lockdown spent with a bit of abandon. Past crowds at Cosmic Rewind As someone who visited Disneyland and Walt Disney World in the near-immediate aftermath of the end of lockdown policies and the height of “revenge spending”, I can attest to just how busy both parks were during that period. However, as much as that spending ballooned guest members and revenue, it seems that trends like “revenge saving” may have the opposite effect. Earlier this year, Disney executives claimed during the company’s Q1 earnings call that bookings for the summer of 2025 are up and that the “outlook is good and the company is feeling positive.” However, there are some indications that things may not be as rosy. TRON Lightcycle/Run Currently, Disney is offering a slew of discounts on everything from theme park tickets, hotel stays, and dining, more than we’ve seen at the same time in years. While these savings are obviously welcome to many guests, their presence also indicates that Disney is likely not selling out rooms at the clip they anticipated, perhaps because potential guests are putting more money aside for savings. Southwest Airlines The growing “revenge saving” financial trend could potentially lead to dwindling crowds and lower profits for the theme park industry. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 10. Disney World is keeping us on our toes! Magic Kingdom The parks are changing a lot these days! New lands are coming, several rides are being refurbished, and we’re expecting more news soon, thanks to Destination D23. With all of this change, we thought Disney might take it easy on us for a while, but NOPE! They recently dropped 3 major announcements that totally caught us off guard. There is so much going on in the parks right now, we thought maybe, just maybe, Disney was done with announcements for now. We were totally wrong! With the holidays coming up, Disney is keeping us on our toes in more ways than one, starting off with some delicious DOLE Whip news. DOLE Whip Updates If you’re a fan of specialty treats, you’re just like us! Anytime a holiday, party, celebration, or event comes around, we hold our breath to see how many limited-time sweet treats there will be. Recently, we finally got the full list of all of the food coming to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and one snack in particular surprised us. Mickey’s Not So Scary! This year, the party is bringing back one specialty DOLE Whip… and that’s it! In the past, we normally saw a handful of specialty ice-cold treats pop up for the holidays in the parks, but in 2025, you can only grab the DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float! It’s DOLE Whip Mango, pineapple juice, chamoy, and chili-lime seasoning. DOLE Whip Mango Chamoy Float This treat was around for the same festivities in 2024, and we loved it last year! It was sweet, savory, and packed a punch when it came to flavors. That being said, we were really surprised to see only one DOLE Whip coming around for this year’s party. Disney… is everything okay? ©Disney This dessert will be available during normal park hours and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Read our review of this treat from 2024! Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Bar Over in Disney Springs, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar gave us a fearfully fun surprise! This Disney Springs bar has been a favorite of ours for years thanks to its delicious cocktails, fun bites, and detailed themeing. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar This bar also transforms at Christmas time each year to become Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar, which we are genuinely obsessed with. Now, for a seriously fun and shocking surprise, Disney announced that Jock Lindsey’s will transform into a Halloween Bar in 2025! This surprise will involve a Halloween overlay with a brand-new menu. ©Disney It will include items like a chicken biscuit sandwich, quesadillas with skulls, and fried deviled eggs! The new menu is sure to be a huge hit, and we can’t wait to see how all of the decor comes to life. Read more about the new overlay here! Major Changes In Hollywood Studios Finally, we’re headed to Hollywood Studios with the most shocking news of all. A brand-new land is coming to the park in 2026! This new area, which will be called The Magic of Disney Animation, will bring two new attractions and an updated attraction when construction is complete. ©Disney Star Wars: Launch Bay will transform into “a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.” Disney has hinted that characters will take over the studio while the animators are away, bringing it to life for guests to play for hours. Portraits will come to life, and you might even be able to “pencil in some time to learn to draw your very own character sketch.” ©Disney Disney is also bringing the Drawn to Wonderland playground to life, which is inspired by Disney Legend Mary Blair’s concept art for Alice in Wonderland. Disney has shared that this playground will feature “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area.” ©Disney Finally, Disney also confirmed that Disney Junior Play and Dance will be reimagined once the new area opens sometime in 2026. Learn all about the massive changes here! We were so surprised that Disney dropped all of these announcements, especially the Hollywood Studios news, before D23, which takes place from August 29th through August 31st. We’re expecting some pretty big parks news that weekend, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the most up-to-date Disney changes! 2025 Destination D23 Expo — Disney’s BIGGEST Fan Event of the Year Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Tipsy Teacup In addition to a book launch party where you can MEET AJ, we’ve also cooked up something extra special with the help of some restaurants in Disney World. The Disney Adults Crawl will take you through Disney Springs and to EPCOT to enjoy some very special beverages that are being released EXCLUSIVELY to celebrate the book’s release. Well, we’re also trying those special drinks, and we’d like to take you to Vivoli il Gelato to try one right now! But first, make sure you grab a copy of Disney Adults for yourself! This book is a “fascinating and enlightening deep dive into the infamous Disney Adult community from the woman behind the popular website The Disney Food Blog.” Okay, now let’s talk about the Disney Adults Crawl. You’ll get to order eight exclusive beverages in Disney Springs and EPCOT to celebrate the book’s release from August 1st through August 31st. You can grab a Disney Adults Crawl map and menu below: Alright, back to our review. We visited Vivoli il Gelato to indulge in the Tipsy Teacup for $10.75. This is a strawberry “affogato” with peach bellini prosecco in the center. Note that “affogato” is in quotation marks because it’s not a true affogato with espresso, but the concept is the same. It’s like a fun little twist just for us Disney fans! It’s also served in an adorable teacup. It’s tipsy, alright! The Tipsy Teacup is light and bubbly and has a lovely peach and strawberry flavor. However, you can choose whatever flavor of gelato you’d like, so you could totally make this your own. We love that this is both a drink and a snack. You can sip it, and you can scoop it. It works so well, and the name is perfect. Peep the Disney Adults drink stirrer! Sip it or scoop it How fun is this?! It’s not every day you get to see AJ’s name alongside an official Disney treat, so this is SUCH an honor. We’re having a BLAST with the new treat crawl. We’ll be giving you reviews of allllll the Disney Adults Crawl-exclusive snacks, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Order Disney Adults Right Now! 12. Waiting in line for a ride that shuts down right before you board? Yeah, that hurts. Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios Slinky Dog Dash is one of the most popular rides in all of Disney World, and it also happens to be one of the most weather-sensitive rides out there. So if you’re heading to Toy Story Land with your eyes set on riding the cutest coaster ever made (and best IMHO), there’s one thing we really wish we had known before we ever stepped foot in that queue. And trust us—it’ll save you time, frustration, and possibly your spot in line. Not Checking the Accuweather MinuteCast Before You Queue Up Slinky Dog Dash is an outdoor roller coaster, which means it shuts down any time there’s lightning in the area—or even just the threat of it. What makes it tricky is that Florida weather is wild. You can be standing in full sun and still be 10 minutes away from a total downpour that closes the ride for who knows how long. Taking shelter from the rain We’ve been there. You wait in line for 45 minutes, you’re just about to board, and then that announcement hits: Slinky Dog is currently closed due to inclement weather in the area. Everyone groans. The queue empties out. Time wasted, mood tanked. Slinky Dog Dash closed But here’s the thing—we could’ve avoided all that with one simple step. Download the Accuweather app. Specifically, check out the MinuteCast feature. It gives you a hyper-local forecast, down to the minute, of when rain is expected to start. We’re not talking vague percentages or “chance of showers” here. We’re talking: “Rain expected to start in 19 minutes.” And honestly? It’s freakishly accurate. ©Accuweather We now make it a rule—before getting in the Slinky Dog Dash line, we check the app. If MinuteCast says there’s rain coming in the next 20-30 minutes? We skip it and come back later. Because here’s the kicker: even the possibility of lightning shuts this ride down, and once that happens, it can stay closed for hours. Cast Members can’t tell you when (or if) it’ll reopen. And if you’re deep in the queue when it goes down? You just lost all that time and still didn’t ride. This tip especially matters if you’re not rope dropping. In the morning, you’ve got a better chance at dry weather, shorter lines, and less of that blazing Florida heat. But if you’re trying to ride later in the day—like early afternoon, which is prime thunderstorm time—you really need to double-check the radar before you commit to that line. Here’s how we use it: Open Accuweather. Make sure you’re on “Today” (you can see that on the bottom left). You’ll see MinuteCast right in the center of the app. Set your location to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (or let it find you). Look at the “precipitation starting in…” line. Decide if the ride is worth the risk. ©Accuweather It takes less than 30 seconds, and it’s saved us from wasting so much time waiting in a doomed queue. Honestly, we do this now for all outdoor rides—but Slinky Dog Dash is especially prone to weather shutdowns, so it’s the one we always check first. A Few Extra Tips While We’re at It While we’re on the topic of Slinky Dog Dash, here are a few other things to keep in mind: That queue can feel brutally hot. Even on a clear day, you don’t want to be standing in it too long in the afternoon heat. Either rope drop it or save it for later in the evening when the sun’s gone down. It’s a family coaster, but not boring. Don’t let the “Toy Story” theme fool you—this ride is fun. Smooth, not too intense, but it’s got some sneaky little thrills. Wait times climb fast. This one regularly hits 70–100 minutes. If you see it under 60, that’s actually a solid wait. But again—none of that matters if the ride shuts down just as you’re about to board. That’s why we wish someone had told us earlier to check the weather down to the minute before stepping in line. Accuweather’s MinuteCast is now one of our Disney day essentials, right up there with water bottles and portable chargers. ©Accuweather So before you join the sea of guests snaking through that outdoor queue, do a quick weather check. Your future self (and your park schedule) will thank you. Be sure to check back in with us for the latest updates, news, and more right here at DFB! 13. A lot of things are closed right now in Disney World, and we’re here to keep you updated on everything. In Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for a huge refurbishment. In Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close soon to get some new updates. Entire lands have also closed throughout the parks to make way for new lands and rides. Coronado Springs Lost City of Cibola Pool Closures are also affecting Disney World hotels. That includes Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, where a pool will be closing soon for refurbishment. According to the Disney World website, the Cabanas leisure pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be closed from August 17th through August 24th for routine maintenance. This is not the main pool at the resort, but one of the quieter pools. ©Disney In the meantime, other pools at the resort will be open to guests, including the Lost City of Cibola pool as well as the Casitas and Ranchos leisure pools. The Lost City of Cibola is the resort’s main pool, which is part of the Dig Site, a complex of pools themed around Mayan ruins. The centerpiece of the main pool is a 50-f0ot pyramid, but it also has a 123-foot waterslide. The Dig Site The Dig Site also has the largest hot tub in Disney World and can fit up to 22 people. Plus, you’ll find activities around the pool, Siestas pool bar, a white sand volleyball court, the Iguana arcade, and a kiddie pool in the complex. However, this does mean that this area will generally be more crowded than the leisure pools. The Dig Site Of course, if you’re staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort or any other Disney World hotel, you can also take advantage of free water park tickets for your arrival day. 16. Heading to Disney World soon? You need to know this! Hi Mickey! When it comes to Orlando’s Disney resort, there are a lot of changes going on right now. Classic rides are being refurbished, new lands are under construction, and now, we’ve spotted some more construction that might throw a wrench in your Disney plans. If you’re staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you need to know about some construction happening around the resort! This classic Disney resort is getting some updates on its quick service that could impact your stay. Contempo Cafe The Contempo Cafe is located on the second floor of the resort, right next to Chef Mickey’s and the stores at the resort. At this spot, you can find a variety of options like sandwiches, salads, pastas, and amazing desserts. If you’re staying at this resort and want a quick snack or need a soda refill, this is the spot to go. Right now, the Contempo Cafe is under construction! Dole Whip Cupcake Contempo Cafe The resort’s quick-service is undergoing a refurbishment from July 28th, 2025, through mid-October. Refurbishment work will take place near the quick service between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM each day. Disney has warned guests that they may hear construction noise during this time. New food at Contempo Cafe Luckily, this won’t impact whether you can eat at the quick service, but it might not be the most comfortable dining experience. If you really need a good bite but want to avoid a noisy lunch, you can always use the mobile order feature at this restaurant and take it to go! Contempo Cafe Disney hasn’t shared what the refurbishments will consist of, so we’re assuming it will just be some traditional TLC for the resort. We’re eager to see how the changes look, and we’re adding this to the long list of construction happening at Disney World right now. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more news and updates. 17. I am in my 17th year of reporting and writing about Disney World. I’ve lived in Florida off and on since I was 19. I’m a Gen X Disney expert, and I’m here to say something loud and clear: The way you’ve always done Disney World? That plan’s done. Magic Kingdom I’m not here today with my usual list of things to “beat the heat.” I’m not gonna tell you to pack a cooling towel. I’m not here to remind you to drink more of the free ice water Disney will give you in many locations (though you should). Not today. Today I’m saying blow up your entire vacation strategy. Because this heat? This isn’t normal. One of the things I constantly remind the writers on our team is that it rarely-to-never hits 100 degrees on the Florida Peninsula. Like maybe once every 5 or so years. High humidity and sea breezes keep Florida temperatures lower than you will see out West, certainly, but even lower than Midwestern and Southern cities in July and August. I have surprised many people with these statistics over the past few decades. Well, guess what? I get to throw that whole “seasoned veteran” talk out the window now because the forecast has been full of days when Orlando is hitting 99 or 100 degrees lately. Hot day at MK! As I write this, it’s 7:30 PM on a Thursday night in late July, and the “feels like” temperature is 106 degrees at Disney World – the actual temperature is still 96. At 7:30 PM. That is not vacation weather — that’s “don’t-go-outside-if-you-can-help-it” weather. But you’re already here, or your trip is coming up. You’ve spent a lot of money to bring your family to the Most Magical Place on Earth. So let’s talk realistically about how to survive — and still have fun. Step 1: Rope Drop or Bust If you’ve got breakfast reservations that keep you from getting into the park by 9 a.m.? Cancel them. Morning hours are the only reasonable time to hit outdoor attractions before the sun fully turns on the oven. Book those character meals in the evening while Florida’s afternoon thunderstorms pass through. The Monorail at EPCOT You want to get in, ride your top priorities, and then get out before the stroller meltdowns start. (And yes, I was in EPCOT this morning and the stroller screams were loud and early — this heat is brutal on everyone, especially kids.) Step 2: Make Your Own Shade Buy a compact umbrella and carry it with you. I’m serious. I don’t care if it makes you feel like a weak, wilting flower. Shade makes it feel 10–15 degrees cooler, and when you’re in this kind of heat, that can be the difference between making it through the morning and tapping out by 10:30 AM. Bonus: Umbrellas give you a bit more personal space in the crowd. You’re welcome. Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Step 3: Midday = Shut It Down By 12:30 PM, it’s time to get out of the parks. Go back to your hotel. Take a cool shower. Shut the blackout curtains. Take a nap. Your kids will nap. You’ll nap. No one’s fighting it — this heat will wear you down, fast. Nap time! Step 4: Shift Your Entire Day You’re going to flip your schedule: parks in the morning, break mid-day, return at night. Kids’ sleep routines – what are those? We do not know them. Disney Starlight Disney is giving us nighttime shows for a reason. Happily Ever After and the new Disney Starlight Parade are worth staying up for — and guess what? The lines get shorter, the air gets cooler, and everyone’s happier after dark. Step 5: Change Your Expectations You’re not going to do it all. You just aren’t. And that’s OK. Bowling! Inside! At Disney World! Instead: Book an indoor character dinner. Head to Disney Springs to see a movie. Take an Uber or Lyft to a nearby outlet mall to check out the Disney Character Warehouse. Resort-hop and check out the nice, cool, differently-themed A/C in various lobbies. Do a scavenger hunt or check out the arcade at your resort. Visit Lagoon Lanes, Games & Eats at the Walt Disney World Dolphin to bowl and grab a milkshake from The Fountain. There is so much to do that doesn’t involve melting in the sun. Pro Tips From a Local Who’s Over It: Buses: Air conditioning = great. Monorails: Hit or miss. Monorail Lime today? Fantastic. Monorail Coral? A sweaty regret. Skyliner: You’re gonna be super hot up there if it stops for more than 12.4 seconds. Indoor Attractions: Make time for Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, American Adventure, or any air-conditioned space where you can sit for 15 minutes. It’s not laziness — it’s survival. I’ve never been so interested in American history. And if You Haven’t Booked Yet… I’ll say it: Don’t come in peak summer. I’m not a big fan of pulling kids out of school for a vacation, but if you can swing a long weekend in November, December, January, February, or March — you’ll actually get more done in the parks when you’re not constantly needing to hydrate and rest, and you’ll have a far better time doing it. What’s more terrifying? This ride or an entire day outside in this heat? Bottom Line? This is the summer you need to completely change how you Disney. If you keep trying to stick to your usual all-day, go-go-go schedule, you will hit a wall. Your kids will hit it. Your parents will hit it. And someone’s going to have the kind of day you never want to remember. It’s my favorite ride, but I get it if it’s your least favorite. It’s still a dark, cool, 10-minute break from THIS HEAT. Change.The.Plan. Embrace the A/C. Take the nap. Stay late. Make new memories — not heat stroke horror stories. As for me, I’ll see you at the Starlight Parade — after dark, when the temperature has dropped at least a little. “I’ve Never Seen an Airport Like This” — What To Do When Everything Falls Apart Before Security Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Because AJ has partnered with some Disney World restaurants to also bring you a Disney Adults food and drinks crawl with exclusive drinks created JUST for the book’s release! How awesome is that? And you can go on the crawl and enjoy these exclusive drinks from August 1st through August 31st. We’ve already done the hard part and reviewed all these special treats for you, so keep reading for more. But first things first. You should TOTALLY pre-order a copy of Disney Adults ASAP. The book officially releases on August 5th, and you’ll WANT to have a copy on-hand. This book is a “fascinating and enlightening deep dive into the infamous Disney Adult community from the woman behind the popular website The Disney Food Blog,” so you can expect a lot of insight from AJ about what it means to be a Disney Adult and more. Okay, let’s talk about this drinks crawl. The drinks on this crawl were exclusively created in partnership with a group of Disney World restaurants to celebrate the release of Disney Adults, which we don’t think has ever been done before. These limited-time treats will be available from August 1st through 31st, so you’ll want to get to Disney World ASAP to check them out! This book is a must-read ORDER ON AMAZON ORDER A SIGNED COPY HERE! First up, you’ll want to get your hands on the exclusive crawl map and menus. You can grab that here by signing up for the DFB newsletter. If you just want a list of the items available on the crawl, we’re dropping all the details and our reviews of the items below. Disney Springs Starting at Vivoli il Gelato, you can sip on The Tipsy Teacup for $10.75. This treat is a strawberry “affogato” with peach bellini prosecco in the center. Okay, this treat is so pretty that we didn’t even want to eat it, and we love the Disney Adults garnish. But we did…for science! It’s nice and bubbly, but also very light. You can taste both the peach and strawberry flavors beautifully, too. Although ours was made with strawberry, you can actually choose whatever gelato flavor you’d like. But we’re recommending the strawberry because it just SINGS with the peach. Tipsy Teacup The next stop is Raglan Road where you’ll be able to order the Wild Rosy. It’s made with Glendalough Wild Rose Gin, Rockeys Botanical Liqueur, homemade rosemary syrup, lemon Pellegrino, and Fever Tree premium tonic with a Disney Adults garnish for $16. For summer, you can get it for $10 until 3PM Monday through Friday. This is another beautiful cocktail with subtle floral tones and a hint of lemon that’s nice and smooth. It’s even almost kinda’ bubbly. Wild Rosy You’ll want to pop into Homecomin’ for the Disney Adults Blue Hooch, which is a special version of the Blue Hooch drink made with Blue Flame moonshine, lemon-infused moonshine, blue curacao, house-made simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and a splash of Sprite for $16. This one even comes with a Disney Adults coaster! First, the presentation of this drink is ON POINT. It feels so very tropical, and if you like a mixed drink that’s on the light and fruity side, this is FOR YOU. It’s like a vacation in a glass. Note that you can get this in the jumbo squeeze bottle for $22 and then a 22-oz. refill costs $16. Disney Adults Blue Hooch Over at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, you’ll want to grab the Disney Adults Refresher for $6.50, made with Blue raspberry Monin and a white cranberry juice water base. It’s got the perfect name because y’all, it’s SO refreshing and much lighter than the alcoholic drinks. It doesn’t taste super syrupy, and it has a nice sweetness balanced with a hint of tartness. Disney Adults Refresher Even if you don’t fancy a game of bowling, you’ll want to stop into Splitsville Luxury Lanes to try the Big Wave Dave. It’s $16 and has Wheatley Vodka, grain alcohol, and blue raspberry. This drink tastes like the ocean, but not salty. Like the taste of the alcohol is barely there, and it’s got a bit of tartness like an alcoholic lemonade with a hint of blue raspberry. Also, it’s just FUN looking, right? Big Wave Dave The BOATHOUSE is offering the Frozen Duck Duck Razz with a Disney Adults sticker on the sipper. And for one day only, on August 5th (yep, the book’s official release date), you can order the Mischief Mai Tai from Summer House on the Lake. It’s made with Wicked dolphin coconut rum, orgeat, blue curaçao, and lemon juice. EPCOT Finally, let’s head to EPCOT to La Cava del Tequila for the Disney Adults Margarita for $18. This is another gorgeous drink, and it’s made with Pantalones blanco tequila, Calenda mezcal, botanical aperitif, lime juice, a hint of blue curaçao, and cold foam on top. Yes, cold foam on a margarita!!! We like that there’s only a little blue curaçao, so it’s not super sweet. You also get the botanicals from the aperitif and the smoke from the mezcal on top. It’s SO SMOOTH. Disney Adults Margarita Also, there’s a special Disney Adults design on the top of the cold foam! The cold foam is sweet and SO unique because we’ve never had it on an alcoholic drink before. Turns out it’s just as good on booze as it is on coffee! We love it! This drink will launch on August 5th, so be sure to make a beeline for La Cava when you visit EPCOT to grab it. We had so much fun getting to try these exclusive drinks and can’t wait for you to experience them for yourselves. The crawl officially ends on August 31st, so don’t miss out! 20. Okay, we’ve seen…some things in Disney World, and no, we’re not even talking about the time Cinderella Castle got turned into a bright pink birthday cake or the time Stitch TP’d the castle. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex We’re not even talking about the fun things we see Cast Members do from time to time, like the Clap Box (which is good for your ego if you need a boost). No, today, we saw what could be some of the widest SPORTS in Disneyland, and of course, we have to tell you all about it. We were invited to preview the ESPN8: The Ocho at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Okay, so the OCHO is a showcase of sports you may not be aware of. The event is filmed in several different locations to air on ESPN, including the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World, meaning several events are being held there. We got to preview three of the sports, and it was interesting, to say the least. So let’s head in and check it out. Let’s head into the arena The first sport we were introduced to was Pop Darts. Okay, so this is darts, but with suction cups. The game can be played with a tabletop or a board similar to a cornhole board. This game has an interesting history because it was created in 2020 during the COVID lockdown. The idea was to create a sport that could be played at home. It went viral on TikTok, and the rest is history. Pop Darts Three players are coming from all over the country to compete, but then 22 other players are going to vie for a fourth spot to compete in the ESPN event. Here’s a video explaining how the game works. Now, though, we’re moving on to what could be our new favorite sport to watch. It’s called Slippery Stairs, and yes, it’s EXACTLY how it sounds. So there are all these staircases of different shapes and sizes, and some are even tilted at different angles. But the best part is that there’s a slippery substance on the stairs. So competitors put on suits and try to climb to the top of the stairs…and y’all, it is HILARIOUS. Slippery Stairs There will be a Slippery Stairs competition for women, men, and for kids. You can get an idea of how much fun this is from this video. Um…can we get this added to the Olympics, please? The third event we learned about was the Dodgeball League. Yep, Dodgeball, and yes, there was a movie starring Ben Stiller, but now there’s a serious Dodgeball League competition where three teams will compete. There’s a special court with ball fetchers and special rules and regulations that are NOT like the schoolyard Dodgeball rules you know. The balls are smaller than you know, too, and they are VERY VERY bouncy. Dodgeball League being explained Basically, imagine Dodgeball at school, but more serious and intense. If you’re curious, here’s a full Dodgeball League game to get an idea of what it’s all about: The idea behind Ocho is that ESPN wants to cover any kind of sport, so this is their chance. This is the Ocho’s 8th year with the network. If you want to see it for yourself, head to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World tomorrow, August 1st. It’s totally free — and parking is even free. You’ll get to see 11 sports in all (although there are 45 that are happening all over the country). Here’s the full schedule: 10 AM: Major League Paintball 11 AM: NWLA Wiffleball 12 PM: Omegaball 1 PM: TurfWars Adult Kickball 2 PM SportsCenter 3 PM: Bullshooter 4 PM: The Ocho Show 5 PM: The Popdarts Championship presented by APL 6 PM: 2025 Slippery Stairs (marquee event) 7 PM: 2025 Extreme Archery Championship presented by Archery Tag 8 PM: Dodgeball 9 PM: Pop-A-Shot 2025 National Championship 10 PM: Pillow Fighting ©ESPN This is a fun and free activity that we think a lot of Disney World guests might enjoy, especially if they’re wanting to get out of the Florida heat and humidity and away from the chaos of the parks for a while. 22. When it comes to dining at Disneyland, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. DCA Entrance We recently stopped by Paradise Garden Grill at Disney’s California Adventure to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to Disneyland Resort? Find out here! Atmosphere Paradise Garden Grill is a charming counter‑service gem tucked into the edge of Paradise Pier in Disney’s California Adventure. Their hours right now are 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM so you have plenty of opportunities to grab a bite here. Paradise Garden Grill You can order with a Cast Member as well as utilize Mobile Ordering. You will pick up your food at the window and head over to find a place to sit. Pick Up The entire dining area shares outdoor seating with neighboring spots like Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta and Bayside Brews — offering both covered and open‑air tables to accommodate Southern California’s temperate climate. Framed by attractions such as Goofy’s Sky School and midway games, the seating feels like a cozy seaside boardwalk retreat. Seating courtyard Since this section is often less crowded than core park areas, visitors can enjoy a relatively peaceful meal, especially during off‑peak times, making it a tranquil alternative to more frenetic food court-style quick service venues. Seating But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Paradise Garden Grill originally made a name for itself as a spot where guests could enjoy flavorful Mediterranean eats. More recently, however, the spot is better known as a place where you never know exactly what you’ll find… mostly because the menu often changes to help celebrate the current season or to provide offerings for one of the park’s Festivals or celebrations. Menu Right now, you can dive into a culinary fiesta, where every bite is a celebration of vibrant Mexican flavors. You can savor mouthwatering dishes like Chicken Taquitos Rojo and Achiote Chicken Salad, each bursting with authentic spices and fresh ingredients. And save room for dessert — the Mango Strawberry Chile-Lime Parfait is a sweet and tangy treat that will leave you craving more. Menu We found a few featured beverages available here. Pineapple Agua Fresca, a Hard Peach Tea Seltzer, and the Fresh Pineapple Cocktail. Drink Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Al Pastor Tacos for $13.99. This is made with Pineapple-Achiote-marinated Pork with Avocado Spread and Tomatillo Salsa, served with Spanish Rice and Refried Beans, topped with Queso Fresco. Al Pastor Tacos These tacos brought a fresh and flavorful combination to the dish, with the standout elements being the marinated pork and the vibrant avocado spread. The pork was tender and carried a sweet and savory profile, with a grilled pineapple flavor from the marinade. This touch of sweetness didn’t overpower the dish but instead added a pleasant depth that played nicely with the creamy, fresh avocado. The combination created a balanced bite that leaned more toward comforting than bold. The warm tortillas felt freshly made and held everything together without getting soggy. Let’s dive in However, the salsa included with the tacos was nearly undetectable in flavor, and there was little to no spice present in the dish overall. For guests looking for a kick of heat, this may fall short. While the tacos do come with a side of rice and beans for a value comparable to Cocina Cucamonga’s offerings, the sides didn’t add much beyond filler. If you’re craving Mexican flavors at Disneyland Resort, these tacos are a good pick. Rice and Beans We also grabbed the Mango Strawberry Chile-Lime Parfait for $6.79 for dessert. This dish has a Mango Mousse, Vanilla Cake, Mango Passion Fruit Compote and Strawberry Chamoy Chile-Lime Gelée. The parfait turned out to be a pleasant surprise. At first glance, the combination of sweet fruits and chile-lime seasoning might sound like an unusual pairing, but the spice was kept very light, just enough to give a hint of warmth without overwhelming the dessert. Mango Strawberry Chile Lime Parfait The mango mousse was smooth and refreshing, paired nicely with the slightly firmer, jello-like strawberry layer for a contrast in both flavor and texture. Hints of passion fruit added a tropical brightness that tied everything together, giving the parfait a layered, fruity profile that was more cohesive than expected. While the chile-lime name might suggest a bold or spicy treat, this dessert leans far more toward sweet and mellow, making it approachable even for those wary of heat. Drinks To drink, we picked up the Pineapple Agua Fresca for $6.99. This is a Fresh Pineapple Juice Beverage. This is a simple yet satisfying refreshment and perfect for beating the heat. Made with just pineapple juice and water, this drink offers a naturally sweet and mellow pineapple flavor that’s more fresh than it is tart. There’s no overwhelming sweetness or artificial taste, just a light, clean sip that’s especially welcome on a hot park day. While it may not be the most complex beverage on the menu, its simplicity and refreshingly cool nature make it an easy repeat purchase when you’re in need of a quick cool-down. Fresh Pineapple Cocktail Nosh or Not This restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for fresh and unique flavors. Dishes like the Al Pastor Tacos and Mango Strawberry Chile-Lime Parfait deliver vibrant, unexpected flavor combinations that stand out from typical theme park fare. You want peaceful outdoor seating. Shared with neighboring restaurants, the spacious, shady seating area provides a relaxing break from the busier areas of the park. You visit during a festival. The restaurant frequently updates its offerings to match current festivals and events, giving guests something new to try with each visit. You should skip this spot if… The weather isn’t good. All seating is outdoors and shared with nearby locations, so on extremely hot or rainy days, it may not be the most comfortable dining experience. You want bold flavors. While the food is fresh, it tends to play it safe—those looking for bold, spicy, or deeply seasoned dishes might find the flavors a bit underwhelming. Overall Overall, Paradise Garden Grill offers a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal away from the crowds. With a rotating menu tied to seasonal events and festivals, the restaurant provides a fresh take on theme park dining, offering dishes that feel more unique and balanced compared to typical quick-service fare. During our visit, the Al Pastor Tacos stood out for their sweet and savory pork paired with vibrant avocado spread, and the Mango Strawberry Chile-Lime Parfait surprised us with how well its fruity flavors came together. Paradise Garden Grill That said, not everything wowed us. While the Al Pastor Tacos were tasty, they didn’t quite beat out other options nearby like the tacos at Cocina Cucamonga. The accompanying rice and beans felt more like filler than a standout side. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and the laid-back setting, and we’d definitely return during a seasonal menu refresh. Next time, though, we might skip the tacos in favor of trying a different entrée and save room to share dessert. 23. Uh, Disney? Why do you keep putting up new walls? How have you not run out of them yet? Ticketing and Transportation Center Usually, when walls pop up at Disney World, we know they’re coming. Whether an attraction permanently closes or Disney announces on their website to expect construction, the walls don’t always throw us for a loop. Disney decided to change things up because we have no idea what these walls are for! At the Transportation and Ticket Center, the big parking lot that has the monorail and ferry boat for Magic Kingdom has walls covering five ticket booths. WALLS! Walls are completely covering them on all sides, and when we asked Cast Members what was happening, they didn’t know, either. We hate when walls go up! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen all the ticket booths in use. Most guests purchase their tickets and vacation packages online beforehand, instead of waiting till they’re at the parks. Is Disney completing renovations on them? Are they running them into something else? We’re not quite sure, but we’re very curious as to what’s happening. Covered No pathways are being blocked, so you don’t have to worry about any of this construction affecting your trip at this point in time. We’ll keep you updated when we hear what’s happening behind the walls and if it will start affecting your travel. 24. Every Disney trip needs a snack break… or maybe a few! From sweet treats to savory snacks and delicious meals that hit the spot, there’s no shortage of great eats at Walt Disney World. Behind each bite are talented culinary cast members from all over the world — including many who studied in Central Florida at Valencia College’s Walt Disney World Center for Culinary Arts & Hospitality. This school has become a launchpad for chefs looking to turn their passion for food into lifelong culinary careers. Let’s take a deeper look at the school and meet some of the Disney chefs who started their journey there. Inside Walt Disney World’s Center for Culinary Arts & Hospitality The Walt Disney World Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality at Valencia College combines classroom teaching with real-world experience, helping students with big dreams deepen their passion and skills in the kitchen. By their side every step of the way? Disney chefs and culinary cast. Here are some of the ways that Walt Disney World provides support to the school: Disney chefs frequent the school to give cooking demos and teach new skills, provide mentorship and share important lessons from inside the kitchens at Walt Disney World. Students are also invited on Disney World field trips to see firsthand the culinary magic that Disney chefs cook up every day. Disney’s casting team brings special recruitment opportunities to Valencia College, giving students the chance to learn about open roles, apply and interview without leaving campus. In 2019, Disney invested $1.5 million to help Valencia College move its culinary arts and hospitality school to Downtown Orlando, bringing new technology and state-of-the-art classrooms to students. What’s it like learning directly from Disney Chefs? Disney’s culinary team has taught and mentored students from the Walt Disney World Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality for years. While classes on technique and skills are imperative, some of the most important insights shared are about what the future could look like after graduation. “I love teaching at Valencia College because I know that my knowledge from inside Disney can help develop the next generation of chefs,” said Chef Amanda, the Chef de Cuisine of Pastry at EPCOT. “I always get questions about what really happens inside a kitchen, the equipment we use, what shifts look like — things that take real-world experience to know.” These interactions with Disney chefs have helped many go on to have successful careers — some even at Disney. Chef Amanda has several people on her team who studied at the Walt Disney World Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality, including Chef Shaqori, Chef Valarie and Chef Christy. “Disney chefs would always visit campus to encourage us and tell us about the opportunities we could pursue. Their lessons and visiting the parks helped me realize that I could see myself working at Walt Disney World one day,” Shaqori said. “Their support became my guiding light to my career.” Want to try one of Shaqori’s creations? Visit Connections Eatery and try a Liege waffle! What makes this school so special? The Walt Disney World Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality is the only public culinary and hospitality school in Florida that offers an associate degree in Baking and Pastry Management. With Disney’s help, students receive unique learning and career opportunities that can’t be found anywhere else. This school is also special because so many students choose to study there because of their love for Walt Disney World. Chef Molly is one of many Valencia College graduates who enjoyed visiting the parks as a child and dreamed of one day working at Walt Disney World. She accomplished that after graduating and landing a full-time position at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. “I always knew that I wanted to work in baking, and I was also a huge Disney fan. My family and I were annual passholders and would visit the parks all the time to try different foods,” Molly explained. “I picked Valencia for my culinary training because I saw that Disney was partnered with them. It’s the perfect place to be if you want to do culinary and work at Disney one day.” Interested in tasting one of Molly’s dishes? Try the Steakhouse 71 Signature Chocolate Cake. What’s next? The learning doesn’t stop after graduation, though. Chefs who go on to work at Walt Disney World continue to level up their culinary chops every day they work in the kitchen. Valencia College graduate and Disney Chef Jennifer shared that her favorite part of being a cast member is that she is always acquiring new skills as a line cook at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. “I love working for Disney because it’s given me so many chances to grow new skills and take on new opportunities. My team has been an amazing support system for me and has taught me so much about working in a kitchen and being efficient,” Jennifer said. Visit the Ale & Compass Restaurant at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort to try a dish from Jennifer. It looks like these Valencia grads turned Disney chefs found the recipe for success! 25. I lived in Texas for 10 years, and I visit Florida all of the time, so it’s safe to say I’m used to some HEAT. Hollywood Studios The summers (and fall, if I’m being honest) can be absolutely brutal with triple-digit temperatures and heat advisories all of the time. To go to Disney World and live life in general, we have to find a way to cope, and here at DFB, we’ve tested tons of cooling items to see which ones are the best! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We love this Waist Fan! ©Amazon Where has this been all my life?! I just discovered the magic of the AMKEN Waist Fan, and there’s no going back. It has three wind speeds depending on how much cooling you need. It’s great for everyday use, but it makes an amazing camping tool as it can act as an LED flashlight AND a power bank to charge your phone. What a tool!
