When it comes to Disney parks bags, there are tons of options! Lug bags! One of our favorite brands is Lug bags! They feature tons of different characters, styles, and more while still being functional and practical. We’ve used hundreds of different bags, and Lug continues to stand out every time. Now, Lug has dropped a new bag online for the spooky season, and we need it ASAP! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We were there at Destination D23 in 2023 when Disney and Lug announced their partnership, and we have been obsessed with their bags ever since. We have tons of different bags, from the crossbody to the tote bags. They feature the cutest designs inspired by your favorite characters, and their newest addition to their catalogue is no different. Mickey Mouse Halloween Mini Crossbody ©Disney Just in time for spooky season at the parks, Lug’s newest design features an adorable Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern! The pumpkin is a screen-printed appliqué with a 3D stalk and padded ears. The bag itself is padded and quilted to look adorable while keeping your things protected. ©Disney There is a main zip pocket that is capable of fitting the largest iPhone size. It also has a front zipper with RFID protection and a card slot for organization. The print inside the bag features more jack-o’-lanterns inspired by Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, and more! ©Disney On the back, you can spot more of Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Fonald, and Pluto as jack-o’-lanterns with the phrase “Happy Halloween” floating above them amongst the clouds, moon, and bats! It has a small carrying handle or a detachable and adjustable crossbody strap. Grab from the Disney Store This bag will be perfect for anyone who can pack light for the parks or is just heading in for an evening of fun! We love how much these crossbody bags can fit without weighing us down. As always, keep following DFB for more Disney finds! The Walt Disney Company is almost always changing! Walt Disney World Right now, the U.S. parks are changing a lot with the addition of the Disneyland Forward Project and major changes coming to Disney World, like the Magic Kingdom expansion. That’s why we like to do a weekly round-up of the biggest Disney news so you don’t miss a single thing! Let’s dive into the biggest news from this week. When it comes to the Disney company, it can be a lot to keep up with. This week’s biggest Disney news is happening all in Orlando, starting off with the biggest drop that caught us all off guard! New Hollywood Studios Attraction The biggest surprise of the week is that Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a new attraction! ©Disney There are some major changes hitting, including one called The Magic of Disney Animation where you can explore and create, meet with characters, and once again learn to draw a few of your favorite Disney pals. This new attraction will be “a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.” ©Disney Inside, you’ll be able to interact and explore this take on the Disney Animation headquarters. You’ll see portraits come alive before your eyes and “pencil in some time to learn to draw your very own character sketch.” In addition to this new attraction, Disney is also adding the Drawn to Wonderland playground! It’s going to feature an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area,” based on the original concept art of Alice in Wonderland by Mary Blair. ©Disney Disney confirmed that these new attractions will be included in a complete transformation of the Animation Courtyard, which will turn into The Walt Disney Studios. The newly reimagined Little Mermaid show will remain, but the Disney Junior Play and Dance will be reimagined for the new area, which is expected to open in 2026. Read More About the New Attractions Here Attractions Permanently Closing Disney is really living in an “out with the old, in with the new” era, right now! When a new attraction comes, an old one must go so in addition to the new attractions in Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Launch Bay, along with the Animation Courtyard, will be closing forever. Star Wars Launch Bay Star Wars: Launch Bay houses three Star Wars meet and greets, along with movie memorabilia and photo ops. While we are very excited for the new attractions, we are selfishly really hoping Darth Vader finds a new home for meet and greets in the park. This attraction, along with Animation Courtyard, is closing forever on September 25th, 2025. Learn More About The Closure Here New Disney World Restaurant Finally, wrapping up our big three news, a new restaurant has opened in Disney World! The much-anticipated Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina soft opened on July 24th, 2025. Bourbon Steak! The new restaurant replaced Shula’s Steakhouse in Disney’s Dolphin Hotel, and we were blown away! The new restaurant features a dark, sophisticated interior that makes the entire restaurant feel perfect for a special occasion. The inside! The restaurant features an extensive drink list that includes items like the Our Famous Martini and the Blueberry Martini. Our Famous Martini As far as food goes, you can expect to find premium steaks, seafood, as well as items like the Main Lobster Pot Pie! We also tried several desserts and sides during our stop by the new restaurant. The inside of our steak! This one will be perfect for special occasions or anyone looking for a truly incredible steak in Disney World. There are LOADS of ways to celebrate Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary, but some of our favorites involve your MagicBand+! Tapping our MagicBand+! A MagicBand+ isn’t essential for your vacation, but it does make multiple things much easier. You can buy yourself a snack, get yourself into your hotel room for a nap, and interact with things around the park with just one tap! For the 70th Anniversary, there are loads of interactive points you can test out for a limited time, and one of them is FINALLY working! Over near Autopia, you’ll see a stoplight that looks like you can touch your MagicBand+ against each circle. However, since the celebration began, all we’ve heard are car sounds when we tapped against it. That’s all changed now, because now you get a ticket! Autopia in Disneyland That doesn’t sound very exciting normally, but it is here! Multiple MagicBand+ touch points around the park will get you special 70th Anniversary tickets that you can collect. This one hasn’t worked for weeks, but we’re thrilled to see that now, when you tap against it, you’ll get a ticket that says you broke an Autopia law while driving. Check out our ticket! Your ticket is issued by The Tomorrowland Transit Authority, and on the back, one of the boxes is checked for what you “did wrong.” For us, we were apparently driving while distracted. Oops! Heads up, you don’t need to ride the attraction to get one! You can get different ones! There are also other locations around the parks where you can get souvenir specialty tickets during this special event! You can find others at: Main Street Cinema Silver Spur in Frontierland Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland Skipper Lockers, close to the Jungle Cruise Riverboat Cruise Ticket Looking for more recent Disneyland news? If you haven’t had the joy of walking onto a Disney Cruise Line ship, take it from me, you need to add it to your bucket list. As soon as you meet your favorite characters in sailor outfits, try food at a restaurant where you don’t have to worry about the prices (girl math says it’s free!), And see one-of-a-kind entertainment every night, you’ll have a hard time not cruising again. Spider-Man! The Disney Destiny is the newest ship from Disney Cruise Line, which will begin embarking from Florida this November. We have just received a significant update on the boat. Spider-Man has made his debut and is the first Marvel character to be on the stern of a Disney Cruise ship. They have to use cranes to bring it up and secure it to the back of the ship. ©Disney Look at the little Spider-Bots around him! They are ready for their own cruise with sunglasses and a snorkel mask. One is even holding a yellow paintbrush and was the one who made the iconic yellow stripe on the ship. ©Disney The Disney Destiny is the first heroes and villains themed ship, and I couldn’t be more excited. Classic heroes like the Black Panther, Hercules, and The Incredibles had nods around the boat, along with villains like Maleficent and Cruella de Vil. The Black Panther! Along with the new heroes and villains theme comes new experiences! There will be De Vil’s Piano Lounge, themed to the most evil fashionista… Cruella on the Disney Destiny Showcase … and Edna A La Mode Sweets, which is a candy shop dedicated to the other fashionista at Disney. A little something sweet! Hercules fans are going to lose their minds (well, I did, so I know you will, too). There will be an all-new stage show dedicated to the movie, featuring incredible music and a larger-than-life puppet for when Hercules battles the Hydra. I’ve seen many Disney stage shows, but this is the one I’m most excited about. ©Disney The Disney Destiny sets sail on its maiden voyage on November 20th from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and we’ll be here ready to spill all the details to you. From the best food, the coolest characters, and the best shows, we’ll tell you everything you need to know for your best cruise ever. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more! Big changes are coming to Disney World’s biggest holiday parties this year — and we’re not just talking new snacks or parade floats. Christmas Decorations in Magic Kingdom If you’re planning to visit for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or Jollywood Nights in 2025, you’ll want to pay close attention. Several attractions and restaurants are permanently closed, and yes, they’re going to have a real impact on the party experience. Let’s break down what’s going away, what’s replacing it, and how that’ll shake up your night at these special events. Magic Kingdom Lost a Chunk of Liberty Square There are two major permanent closures in Magic Kingdom that are going to change the party vibes in a big way: Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are officially gone. Both attractions are shutting down to make way for the new Cars-themed “Piston Peak” land, which is exciting — but not helpful for 2025 guests. Lots of changes! If you’re a fan of using Tom Sawyer Island as a quiet retreat or just loved the ambiance of the Riverboat drifting along during party nights… well, that’s over. These closures mean Liberty Square will feel more like a construction zone than a charming frontier area this year. Expect tighter crowds and fewer ways to escape the chaos during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Walls near the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom Especially during the Halloween party (which runs August 15th–October 31st), Liberty Square usually leans hard into the spooky theming. It’s home to Haunted Mansion, after all. But with two key areas shut down, we wouldn’t be surprised if that section of the park feels more congested — and less atmospheric — than usual. Construction for Tom Sawyer Island During the Christmas Party (happening November 7th–December 21st), Liberty Square typically offers a quieter escape from the craziness of Main Street or Fantasyland. But with these closures? You’ll need to find a new quiet spot (and no, it’s not going to be near the Piston Peak construction walls). Say Goodbye to Muppets at Hollywood Studios Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Muppets Courtyard is gone. Like, really gone. MuppetVision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s are all officially closed — and Disney isn’t just giving this area a new coat of paint. They’re replacing the whole thing with a brand-new Monsters, Inc. Land, anchored by the upcoming Door Coaster. Former Muppets Courtyard blocked That’s a big win for Monsters Inc. fans, but it also means Jollywood Nights in 2025 will feel very different. If you’ve been to Jollywood Nights before (and if not, it’s happening November 8th–December 22nd), you know the Muppets Courtyard was a central hub. It had live entertainment, themed photo ops, and some great specialty snacks. With that whole area under construction, Disney’s going to have to shift the party layout in a pretty major way. Blocked off! Plus, with those dining locations gone, that’s fewer food options in a park that can struggle with crowd flow and capacity during events. And we don’t know what’s coming in to replace them food-wise yet, so there’s a chance you’ll feel the pinch this holiday season when trying to grab a quick bite between party shows and photo ops. More Construction Incoming: Animation Courtyard Overhaul Before Jollywood Nights starts up in December, even more of the park is getting reworked. Star Wars: Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will both shut down permanently to make room for a massive new area called Magic of Disney Animation — but heads up, construction starts this fall, and that will bleed into party season. Star Wars Launch Bay The new space is set to open in 2026, and yeah, it sounds super cool — think: interactive animation stations, character sketches, and a whimsical Alice in Wonderland-inspired play area. But while that’s all being built, Animation Courtyard is going to be a hot mess. ©Disney During Jollywood Nights, Animation Courtyard has been used for meet-and-greets with rare characters, and it’s a popular place to catch your breath. We’re expecting a lot of that space to be unavailable, or at least visually underwhelming, this year. And with Disney Jr. Play and Dance! closing on September 25th, don’t be surprised if that whole side of the park feels unfinished during the parties. What This All Means for You Disney isn’t canceling the parties — far from it. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and Jollywood Nights are still very much on the calendar. But what has changed is the layout, atmosphere, and options inside the parks due to these closures. They’ll put a spell on you Here’s the short version: Expect more crowding in certain areas (especially Liberty Square and the east side of Hollywood Studios). Be ready for missing entertainment zones and possibly fewer character locations. Dining options at Hollywood Studios will be a bit more limited during Jollywood Nights. There’s going to be visible construction that might break the party magic for some guests. Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM If you’re heading to one of these holiday events this year, adjust your expectations now. Know where the bottlenecks will be, plan around the missing attractions, and keep an eye out for how Disney adapts to these changes — because we’re expecting some last-minute party updates and workarounds to pop up. If you’re planning to travel internationally, there’s even MORE planning that goes into those trips than when you travel domestically. Let’s go somewhere! You may have to deal with layovers at the airport, not speaking the language of the country you’re in, and making sure you can make phone calls and texts while traveling internationally. However, if you were thinking of heading to these two countries soon, you need to know that their travel advisories have just changed. Two travel advisories have been raised to Level 2 by the U.S. Department of State: Thailand and Cambodia. The change happened on July 25th, and both are due to armed conflict on the Cambodia and Thai border. ©U.S. Department of State In Cambodia, guests are told to exercise increased caution due to Street crime in Phnom Penh, particularly phone and bag snatchings. However, in Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Siem Reap, Pailin, and Kampong Thom provinces, landmines and unexploded ordnance have been found in remote areas. ©Britannica For Thailand, the U.S. Department of State says that, “Periodic violence between Thai security services and armed insurgents has been known to occur in Thailand’s three southernmost provinces of Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat. Seventeen districts in these provinces remain under a declared state of emergency due to ongoing violent conflict. There is a collateral risk of violence for U.S. citizens in Thailand’s southernmost provinces due to low-intensity conflict.” ©International Living Now, travel to the countries isn’t prohibited by any means, and it isn’t even discouraged — if you’re traveling soon, you’ll just need to exercise increased caution and stay aware of your surroundings. NEWS: Major CHANGES Set To Hit 2 Budget Airlines
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
The airline industry is consistently…inconsistent. One moment, we’re taking off our shoes in the security line — the next, we’re breezing by with our shoes on. One day, Southwest Airlines offered free checked bags. The next? We don’t want to talk about that right now…we’re still not over that change. You never know what will change before your next flight! ©Orlando International Airport Speaking of changes, there’s been a bit of a shakeup at the Hollywood Burbank Airport. If you’re planning to travel to the West Coast (on a budget), there’s an important update you need to know about. Say goodbye to Avelo Airlines and hello to Breeze Airways. Popular budget airline Breeze Airways confirmed it is adding new flights from Hollywood Burbank Airport, per Los Angeles Magazine. The news follows the announcement that a different budget airline, Avelo Airlines, removed flights out of Hollywood Burbank Airport. ©Breeze Airways Breeze Airways is a budget airline known for nonstop service at affordable fares. You can find, for example, flights to Vero Beach, Florida, for as low as $69. ©Breeze Airways The new Breeze Airways flights will be available starting in March 2026. There will be five new routes, including Burbank, Arcata, Redmond, Eugene, and Pasco/Tri-Cities, according to Los Angeles Magazine. Several of these routes will replace the discontinued Avelo Airlines flights, bringing Breeze’s stats to 300+ routes in 34 states. ©️Orlando International Airport When booking a flight, make sure to do your research. I constantly compare prices with Google Flights. Use a private browser (yes, it makes a difference!). Check back on different days of the week. You never know when a better rate might appear — and jump on a deal if you find one! Take it from me — I’ve booked a LOT of flights, and watched deals pass me by when I opted to wait a day or two to purchase my tickets. It can happen that quickly! ©BreezeAirways Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your vacation alone? Reach out to our friends at Small World Vacations! There are lots of options when it comes to dining at Disneyland Resort. It can be a bit overwhelming when you realize just how many dining locations are throughout the resort. We are here to help, though! We have eaten everywhere at Disneyland, and we want to make sure you have all the information you need to make the best dining choices. Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar We recently stopped by Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at Disneyland Hotel for some eats and drinks, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is located at the Disneyland Hotel. It is inspired by the world-famous Jungle Cruise and will whisk you into another world. It is full of trinkets from Trader Sam’s travels, and you never know what might happen while you are here! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar This bar is well-known for its variety of drinks that have a variety of consequences. And no, we aren’t just talking about the consequences of drinking alcohol. Depending on the drink you order, you might get an animated story or the drink may trigger a special effect. We definitely recommend people watching during your visit as you will see all sorts of shenanigans happening! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar offers appetizers and salads. ©Disney You can also choose from a variety of entrees, and they also have a plant-based option. ©Disney There are also two options for dessert (plus they have a secret menu item that we will talk about in a bit!). ©Disney There are also some options for kids’ meals, too! ©Disney Of course, there are LOTS of drink options! It is a tiki bar after all! ©Disney There are also some non-alcoholic drink options. ©Disney You can also choose from a variety of draft beer, beer, and hard seltzer. ©Disney Trader Sam’s also offers a selection of wines. ©Disney As well as red wine, and three items that are only available at the Patio Bar: DOLE Whip and one alcoholic beverage. ©Disney Now that we have browsed the menu, let’s take a look at what we got to eat and drink! Eats We started off with the Pupu Platter which costs $26. It comes with pork gyoza, tempura-battered green beans, shrimp tempura, chile-orange glazed chicken wings, togarashi aïoli, and ponzu dipping sauce. This dish allows you to try four of the five appetizers available here (only missing the chicken tenders), so if you are having a hard time deciding, why not try them all! We LOVED this dish. The pork gyoza was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We loved the crispy exterior on the green beans, and they paired perfectly with the togarashi aïoli. Pupu Platter We thought the breading on the tempura shrimp was great. The wings have a decent kick to them, and we love the sweet and salty balance in the sweet orange sauce. Each piece was crispy and had a great amount of sauce. The sauces are great compliments to all the elements. We definitely recommend trying a variety of combinations! Pupu Platter Next up, we grabbed the Szechuan Cucumber Salad for $17. This dish features field greens, arugula, pickled cucumber sunomono, red onion, chili crisp vinaigrette, and edible violas. There are A LOT of flavors in this salad…almost too many. It was on the salty side and there is a bit of spice to it. We tasted a lot of the chili crisp viniagrette and the arugula. Our favorite element was the cucumber sunomono as it had a great tang and tartness to it. Szechuan Cucumber Salad We also tried the Hawaiian Platter for $27. We got it with braised kālua beef short rib, but you can also get it with teriyaki chicken thigh. It also comes with steamed jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables, baby bok choy, and sweet teriyaki glaze. We were not huge fans of this dish. Hawaiian Platter The short ribs were dry and way over cooked. While the sauce they had was tasty, it didn’t make up for how dry and tough they were. While the rice and veggies were cooked well and had good flavor, we just can’t get over the short ribs. Hawaiian Platter We also grabbed the Poke Bowl for $24 with Ahi tuna. You can also choose to get this bowl with salmon or tofu. The bowl also features avocado, cucumber, edamame, surimi crab, sushi rice, and togarashi aïoli. We were so impressed with this poke bowl! Everything tasted super fresh, and all the ingredients worked well by themselves, and even better together. The tuna was so fresh and melted in our mouth. We loved all the textures and flavors in this dish! Poke Bowl Finally, for dessert, we grabbed a secret menu item! These are the Mochi Ice Cream Bars that our waiter shared with us as a secret dessert option. We were super excited for a secret menu item, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. It is served with two large cubes each of “mochi” flavor and “ube” flavor and there is a small scoop of ice cream in the middle. Mochi Ice Cream Bars The ube bars were hard as a rock and the texture was gritty and off-tasting. The mochi bars had a waxy consistency that reminded us of hard jelly. The flavors and textures throughout this whole dish were a big miss. Our reporter is a huge fan of mochi ice cream, and they could barely eat any of this dessert. Mochi Ice Cream Bars Now, let’s talk about the drinks we got! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Tangaroa Cooler. This is made with Hamilton Pot Still Gold Rum, Tamarindo syrup, grapefruit, and tropical juice blend. Grapefruit and rum are the most prominent flavors in this drink. The Tamarindo syrup was subtle, and we also picked up on some more tropical juices in the sweet aftertaste. This drink is definitely dangerous though! It is fruity and sweet, and the rum can really sneak up on ya! Tangaroa Cooler Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are looking for a Jungle Cruise-themed bar experience. We always have such a great time at Trader Sam’s as there is always so much going on. Different drinks trigger different events in the bar, and it is so much fun to experience. You want a fun place to hang out that isn’t in the parks. You will need to make your way over to Disneyland Hotel to dine at Trader Sam’s, but we think it is SO worth it! You are looking for tasty food and drink in a lively and entertaining atmosphere. For the most part, we really enjoyed our meal, and it is hard to beat the atmosphere of Trader Sam’s! You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want to spend all evening hanging out with friends or family. Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar does have a 90-minute limit for guests. While that is generally plenty of time for some drinks and food, if you are wanting to hang out for longer, you may want to choose somewhere else. You have kids under the age of 21 and are looking for somewhere past 8 PM. If it is past 8 PM, guests must be over the age of 21 years. So, if it is later in the evening and you have kiddos, this won’t be a good option. You are in a time-crunch and don’t have a reservation. Reservations tend to book up pretty quickly for Trader Sam’s. You can always stop by and join the walk-up list but be prepared that you may need to wait a bit. This may not be a good option if you are in a time-crunch and don’t have a reservation. Overall Overall, we had SUCH a fun time at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. For the most part, we really enjoyed our food too. We would definitely grab the Poke Bowl and Pupu Platter again. However, we would probably skip the Hawaiian Platter with Short Rib and the Mochi Ice Cream Bars. The atmosphere at Trader Sam’s is so unique and we definitely think this is a great option for dining on your Disneyland trip! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. Okay, so it seems impossible, but July is almost over and August will be here SO SOON. And you know what that means — the beginning of spooky season in the theme parks. Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights Now, we’re obviously looking forward to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World, but we’re also looking to scream in terror at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, which brings some of our favorite horror movie and TV franchises to life with scare zones and haunted houses. Well, we just visited Universal Orlando’s Universal Studios Florida…and guess what? Preparations are already underway for Halloween Horror Nights! Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights from August 29th through November 2nd. Now, a month out from the first Halloween Horror Nights, we’re starting to see the first preparations being made for the event. In the San Francisco area of the park, we saw some structures for lighting starting to go up. Lighting rig In the Hollywood section, there are a ton of elements underway, including more lighting rigs. Another lighting rig Here’s another we saw in the area. Even more lighting rigs This spooky shack is hard to miss, and even has a sign in front of it stating that it’s part of the setup for Halloween Horror Nights. What’s this spooky shack? Some Scare Zone props have also been installed, including these, indicating that this is 9 Crooked Lane. This is for the new scare zone, The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane, where you’ll “travel down a spooky winding path to a mysterious home, where trick-or-treaters are transformed into feral felines.” As a cat person, being turned into a feral cat actually sounds kinda fun to me, though… Scare Zone for The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane Some stages have also been added where characters will appear. Stage This scary stage was parked near the Scooby Doo van. Another stage We also spotted this random structure that’s giving off creepy vibes. Not creepy at all So far, though, we haven’t seen signs of a tribute zone or other scare zones, but we’ll be keeping an eye out during our next visit to Universal Orlando. In the meantime, tickets are on sale now for Halloween Horror Nights, so if you want a good scare (and trust me, this party may not be for the faint of heart), grab those tickets now. This is a very popular event, and some nights might sell out. We don’t know about you, but listening to Disney music at home is a surefire way to give us the Disney feels, even when we’re working. Whether we’re listening to our favorite Disney movie soundtrack (insert The Princess and the Frog here, thank you very much) or listening to songs from the parks (you don’t even want to know how often “Grim Grinning Ghosts” comes up on our playlists), Disney music brings us to our happy place every time. Well, Disney just dropped a new soundtrack that every Disney adult will obsess over: the music from Disney Starlight: Dream The Night Away, and it’s now available on Spotify. I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with the Disney Starlight soundtrack because it really has some nice nods to Main Street Electrical Parade and SpectroMagic. If you love it as much as I do, you can add the Disney Starlight music to your Spotify playlist RIGHT NOW. Just search for “Music from Disney Starlight” and you’ll find it. ©Spotify However, you can also listen to it on Apple Music if that’s your preferred music streaming platform. You’ll be able to listen to all 11 tracks from the parade anytime you want. Here’s the full track list: Starlight Anthem Blue Fairy Peter Pan Wish Encanto Frozen Royals Coco Moana Finale Closing The Blue Fairy You can also purchase the full soundtrack on virtually every music platform. Disney offers a wide variety of dining options across the property’s hotels. However, in the many years I’ve been visiting Disney World, I’ve come across several that leave something to be desired. Petals Pool Bar From quick service poolside locations to a sit-down restaurant, each of these Disney World establishments needs some TLC to reach the bar set by many of the resort’s other hotel dining offerings. Value Resort Pool Bars Each of Disney’s Value Tier resorts – The All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, All-Star Movies, Pop Century, and Art of Animation – feature bars near their main feature pools – Grandstand Sports Pool Bar, Singing Spirits Pool Bar, Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar, Petals Pool Bar, and The Drop Off Pool Bar, respectively. While these locations each feature a stocked selection of libations, their food options leave a lot to be desired. Grandstand Spirits Four of the five offer little more than basic sandwiches or salads, while the Art of Animation’s Drop Off Pool Bard extends things with pizza, chicken strips, and hot dog options. Why not some more varied food options instead? Each of the value resorts feature over-the-top themed decorations, how about some themed foods? Pizza that looks like a baseball, etc. The Drop Off El Mercado de Coronado You’d be forgiven if you thought that the El Mercado de Coronado food court area at Coronado Springs was home to some of the best Spanish food on Disney World property. Unfortunately, that’s not the case when it comes to lunch and dinner. El Mercado de Coronado! Outside of some bowl options, and two “Tex Mex” dishes, the area’s main offerings are “typical” theme park fare, including burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, and fries. While we understand the need for these staples, we’d love to see a few more unique Spanish dishes available Seating area! Turf Club Finally, there’s the Turf Club at the Saratoga Springs Resort. While Disney says this bar & grill features “a racetrack clubhouse setting with gorgeous golf course and lake views,” the reality is that its decor is very tired. In addition, the menu has been changed several times in quick succession, with little cohesion nor any real standout dishes. Turf Club Bar & Grill Changing up the offerings at these Disney restaurants could definitely improve the experience for guests of these respective hotels. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney’s restaurants. The New Procedures You Have to Follow in EPCOT Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! Disneyland is a flurry of activity now that the 70th Anniversary Celebration has kicked off in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Turning Red Float The celebration brought some returning entertainment back to the parks, too, including the Paint the Night parade in Disneyland and the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade in California Adventure. However, the Pixar parade will only stick around for a limited time because it will be closing SOON. We checked hours for the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade for the upcoming few weeks, and noticed that the last day the parade is showing hours is August 3rd. This suggests that the parade will be closed on August 4th. The Disney World website also mentions that the parade was only ever meant to be available for a limited time this summer. ©Disney That means if you’re visiting California Adventure on or after August 4th, the parade will be unavailable. However, Disneyland will soon begin preparations for Halloween Time, which means it’s also prepping for Oogie Boogie Bash, which is also held in California Adventure — that special ticketed event has its own parade, the Frightfully Fun Parade. Frightfully Fun Parade However, you will still be able to see Paint The Night in Disneyland, as well as the 70th Anniversary Celebrate Happy Cavalcade. I’ve seen Paint The Night several times, and it’s one of my favorite Disney parades (seriously, it’s STUNNING), so I’d recommend not missing it — you can check the Disneyland app for parade performance times. Paint the Night Parade So you’ll want to keep that in mind if you’re visiting Disneyland in August. Note that California Adventure will close early on the evenings of Oogie Boogie Bash, beginning on August 17th and ending on October 31st. Stay tuned to DFB for more. If you’re planning a Disney World vacation soon, there is something you need to watch out for at Magic Kingdom. Disney Starlight crowds! If you’ve got a Disney World trip planned anytime soon, you need to hear this: your Magic Kingdom evening strategy is about to get completely flipped upside down. Why? Two words: Disney Starlight. Yes, Disney has officially rolled out a brand-new nighttime offering at Magic Kingdom, and while it’s magical, it’s also causing some major traffic chaos once the sun goes down. Let’s break it all down and I’ll share what you need to know to dodge the gridlock and still catch the magic. Magic Kingdom crowds The Starlight Parade is the newest addition to the Magic Kingdom nighttime lineup, and it’s already pulling huge crowds. Think glowing floats, character-filled scenes, and music that will be stuck in your head for days (in the best way possible). It kicks off right on Main Street, U.S.A., winds past the Hub, and finishes up in Frontierland. The parade runs nightly at 9 PM and 11 PM (yes, two showings!), and guests are lining up super early to claim front-row curb spots. Disney Starlight Crowds As if things weren’t wild enough, Happily Ever After, the fan-favorite fireworks show, still goes off at 10 PM — meaning you now have parade crowds merging with fireworks crowds, all in the same tight timeframe. That stretch between 8:00 PM and 11:15 PM is a crowd control nightmare around the Hub, Main Street, and most of the central park walkways. So. Many. People. This also causes pathways to close earlier for parade prep and traffic to be rerouted near the Castle and Liberty Square. There is also stroller parking, which is limited, and cast members are actively directing guest flow. If You Want To Catch the Parade, Check Out These Tips: Pick the 11 PM showing. The later parade is less packed than the 9 PM one because many families head out after the fireworks. Watch from Frontierland. While Main Street has the most “Disney feel,” Frontierland is way less crowded, and you’ll still get the full experience. Mobile order dinner early. Snag a table near Pecos Bill or Columbia Harbour House and eat while you wait —double win! Want to Skip the Parade? Here’s Your Game Plan: If your priority is low wait times or catching fireworks without feeling like a sardine, here’s what I’d do: Hit rides during the first parade. Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are surprisingly calm during this time. Head to Fantasyland for fireworks viewing. It’s less packed and you get great views of the fireworks. Make your exit immediately after fireworks, or wait until after the 11 PM parade to avoid the massive exit crowds at the front of the park. Disney Starlight Between the Starlight Parade AND Happily Ever After, your Disney evenings are going to take more planning than ever before. But don’t worry — with a little strategy and the right mindset, you can make the most of the magic. Be sure to follow DFB for more tips. We’ve been trying to keep up with everything going on in Magic Kingdom, but y’all, it’s a LOT. We’ve got construction walls around Rivers of America, which closed recently to make way for a Frontierland Cars expansion. We’ve got construction happening over at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad…and BEHIND Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We’ve got a closing date for a huge refurbishment for a ride in Tomorrowland. There she is! Over in Fantasyland, one ride, Under The Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid, closed recently for a short refurbishment. Now, that ride was supposed to reopen yesterday, July 26th, but didn’t. However, we’ve got great news: Under The Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid seems to be open today. This morning, we checked hours for Under The Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid, and it was showing hours on the website (from park open to close). NOW, we actually saw hours for the ride yesterday, though, when it wasn’t open. However, the ride is also showing that it’s open on the My Disney Experience app and currently has a wait time. Yesterday, the app showed that the ride was still temporarily closed. ©Disney So it looks you’ll be able to join Ariel and revisit her story on Under The Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid once again as of now. I’ve been on this ride numerous times, and my favorite thing to do after riding it is to visit Ariel’s Grotto to meet The Little Mermaid herself. Maybe she’ll even show you how to use a dinglehopper. Ariel should be there most of the day, but you’ll want to check the My Disney Experience app for her hours. The Little Mermaid herself! Ariel fans will also not want to miss out on the NEW The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure show in Hollywood Studios. Let’s be real: Sunscreen is not optional on a Disney World trip. Sunscreen Between rope dropping, afternoon parades, and running to your next Lightning Lane reservation, you are living in the sun. If you don’t want to look like a lobster by lunch, you’re going to need a solid sunscreen you can reapply on the go — no excuses. Good news? We found some compact, travel-size sunscreens that are perfect for tossing in your park bag — and they’re all on sale on Amazon right now. CHANGES are happening all over Disney World, and yeah, it’s a lot to keep track of. Magic Kingdom is in the process of getting an updated ride in Frontierland, a new EXPANSION in Frontierland, an updated ride in Tomorrowland, and…oh, an ENTIRELY NEW Land. Hollywood Studios is also getting an updated ride, an updated area, and a new land. Animal Kingdom is getting a new attraction in the Tree of Life, PLUS a new land. Whew — that’s a lot. Japan Pavilion EPCOT However, some changes are happening over in EPCOT, too, although they’re a little less massive. For example, if you visit the Japan Pavilion, you might discover that Garden House, the sake bar in the pavilion, has switched locations — so we’re going to tell you where to find it. Garden House is a small kiosk and bar in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion that serves up hot and cold sake cocktails, as well as some seasonal specialties. It’s also a great spot to grab some delicious plum wine. However, the outside location of Garden House is not open right now, and the bar has temporarily moved inside Mitsukoshi, where you’ll find the food and snack items in that store. Temporary location for Garden House Don’t worry, though. You’ll still be able to order your favorite cocktails, including a special cocktail flight and the Kyoho Calpico Cocktail. Try the flight! However, we noticed that a few of Garden House’s regular menu items are missing from the new location. We’re not seeing the regular cold sake, sparkling sake, canned sake, or bottled beer on the menu inside Mitsukoshi. Current menu To order, you just need to follow the sign’s instructions. Order on the left and exit on your right. How to order We don’t know how long Garden House will be inside Mitsukoshi, but we’ll keep an eye out for when it moves back to its outdoor location. In the meantime, you know where to grab a refreshing sake beverage in Japan now. And while you’re at it, do as I do: grab some fun Japanese snacks like mochi, matcha Kit-Kats, Pocky, and more! Don’t forget snacks! Stay tuned to DFB for more. Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? Reach out to our friends at Small World Vacations! We’ve tried quite literally DOZENS of snacks around Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios From basics like cupcakes and ice cream and hot dogs to more fun options like the beloved Totchos at Woody’s Lunch Box and the iconic Ronto Wrap at Ronto Roasters, there are plenty of grab-and-go goodies to add to your must-try list when you visit. And one of those must-try eats is going to bring you to one of the park’s WORST restaurants. While Hollywood Studios may have some good snacks, some of its quick service dining leaves a lot to be desired. One of the places we’re not really recommending that people jump up to visit is Rosie’s All-American Cafe. The food here is fairly basic — a burger, hot dog, and chicken tendies kinda sitch. Rosie’s All American Cafe However, they do have a standout snack on the menu! A little while back, Disney started introducing more loaded french fries on its quick service menus, and here at Rosie’s, you’ll find the Buffalo Fries for $6.49. These are ranch-seasoned French fries drizzled with buffalo-ranch sauce and blue cheese dressing. Buffalo Fries The fries were nice and crispy on the outside, but soft in the middle, and the ranch seasoning added some extra depth to the potato flavor. But the stars here are the sauces! The buffalo ranch is cool yet spicy, and the blue cheese adds a much-needed tangy, sharp flavor. The fries! The chives top it all off with a little bit of brightness. We were pretty impressed by something that, on the surface, seemed like a really simple snack. Disney fries have always been pretty good, but these toppings take them to a whole new level! DELISH So the next time you’re strolling down Sunset Boulevard and you wish you had a salty, savory treat in your hands, snag these Buffalo Fries! You can also find them over at ABC Commissary and Backlot Express if you’re down that way. Backlot Express We’ll make sure to share any more snack reviews with you from Hollywood Studios. There is a lot happening at Disney World right now, and we don’t want you to be caught off guard by closures! Disney’s Animal Kingdom There have been lots of closure announcements, so it can be easy to lose track of what will be closed and when. But, we are here to help! We are rounding up everything that will be closed in Disney World this week so you know exactly what to plan for! Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from July 26th through August 2nd, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are closed for good to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and we have seen workers on Tom Sawyer Island. Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. 3 Big Problems Hurting Magic Kingdom Right Now Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Construction The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We recently spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Just like Tomorrowland Terrace, Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! NEWS: Disney Files Permit for Changes to CLOSED Magic Kingdom Restaurant Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is officially closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now officially closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough to Be a Bug is permanently closed It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th. The show is permanently closed to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut in winter 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. DinoLand, U.S.A. Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. The Boneyard will be closing for good on September 2nd, 2025. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” NEW Aerial Photos Give Us a Glimpse Into Construction Progress at Animal Kingdom Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Construction Walls up in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. Fans Do NOT Want to Hear This, But the New Muppets Coaster in Hollywood Studios Is Actually a Good Thing Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. It closed on March 3rd, and it is expected to reopen in mid-summer. Starbucks is currently closed Have no fear, though — you can still get your Starbucks fix in Disney Springs! Head over to the Disney Springs Marketplace location, which will be open during the refurbishment. Caffeine headaches are not allowed in Disney Springs! REVIEW: A Margarita TREE and Live Music? It Doesn’t Get Better Than This at Disney Springs Disney World Hotels Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. Magic Kingdom’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are both BACK in 2025, but enthusiasm may not be very high among many Disney Adults… Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party These seasonal after-hours parties offer tons of fun like low ride wait times, special shows and spectaculars, event-exclusive character meet-and-greets, limited-time snacks and sweets, rare merchandise, and more! Despite these jolly perks, some Disney Adults are deciding to skip the festivities this holiday season. We asked our readers, “Why are you skipping Disney World’s holiday parties this year?” and got hundreds of comments back — many saying the same things. Club Tinsel! One reader wrote, “The three P’s: Price – Price – and Price.” Jollywood Nights’ most expensive nights are $199 — a $20 increase from 2024. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party’s most expensive prices are even worse, coming in at $229 — a $10 increase from 2024. Pricing ranges based on date, but when we get closer to Christmas, those prices go up. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas ranges from $169 to $229 per person, while Jollywood Nights ranges from $159 to $199 per person. These costs add up FAST, especially if you’re not going alone. The price of admission also only includes nighttime access, so if you plan on doing a full park day, you’ll still have to buy a regular park ticket ON TOP OF the event ticket. Ouch. Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Other folks are allocating their budget towards other Disney vacations. One reader commented that they’re opting to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom instead, while another is saving up for a Disney Cruise Line voyage. Halloween in Magic Kingdom Some other readers are worried about the weather, which is fair. Last year, it rained a ton, and that can quite literally put a damper on the event. While the hurricane season in Central Florida usually does its biggest damage in the summer and early fall, we’ve seen some wild storms hit at random times throughout the year, creating some unpredictability. When you’re paying hundreds or thousands of dollars to attend these events, the last thing you want to do is be miserable because of bad weather. A rainy Hollywood Studios However, a lot of Disney Adults tied it back to cost. A regular Disney vacation is already very expensive. These parties are definitely a luxury, and for a lot of folks, they just can’t justify the extra spending. ©Disney With all that said, there are tons of Disney Adults still planning on attending the events this year — some are even going to BOTH! It just goes to show that if you provide the parties, the Disney Adults will come. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on the following dates in 2025: November: 7th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 26th, 28th, 30th December: 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 21st Fireworks for Very Merry Meanwhile, Jollywood Nights’ 2025 dates are as follows: November: 8th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th December: 1st, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th, 22nd Bert and Mr. Penguin Are you attending one or both of these holiday Disney World events this year? Disney’s latest film has just been released in theaters, and it’s already breaking box office records! ©Disney The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrived in theaters on July 25th, and gained $57 million from just preview and Friday screenings of the film, according to Variety! If you’re visiting Disneyland soon, you can meet these superheroes in the park for a limited time, and you don’t want to miss the exclusive snacks you can grab for the film at select theaters. However, if you’re not able to head to the theaters to see the film, or prefer to watch it at home, here’s when we’re thinking it’ll land on Disney+! To guess when the film will be available for streaming, we took a look at other recent Marvel films that released in theaters and then made their way to Disney+. For example, Captain America: Brave New World released in theaters on February 14th, but it didn’t become available on streaming until May 28th. ©Marvel However, the live-action Snow White was released in theaters on March 21st and became available on streaming on June 11th. The audience approval ratings for both of these films were DRASTICALLY different, so we don’t think that played too much of a big part in when the films were released onto Disney+, as it’s likely the streaming release timeframe was already written in a contract. ©Marvel Considering Fantastic Four released on July 25th, and the two films we compared it to took around 2.5-3 months to release on Disney+, our assumption is that we can expect to see Fantastic Four on streaming somewhere between the end of October and the middle of November. We know, we know, that’s a long time to wait, but it’ll be here before you know it! More Recent Disney Plus News! Okay, so this is the season of closures in Disney World, thanks to all the planned construction around the parks with new lands, expansions, rides, and more on the way (so much new stuff is being planned, y’all). Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside However, sometimes unplanned closures can throw a wrench in your day, and that’s something we’ve been informed about that’s happening at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts. The bridge that connects Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter to Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside is currently closed due to unplanned construction work. We’ve been informed that construction work is happening on the bridge between the two resorts now due to what is reportedly an incident with a trash truck running into the top part of the bridge (Disney has not confirmed). Both the walkway and boats were closed for a day, but the boats and walkway are now operational again, while the bridge is closed. Thanks to DFB reader, @msgrunder, for the photos. ©msgrunder Here’s what the bridge looked like after the incident. The arch is now completely gone. ©msgrunder You’ll want to keep that in mind if you’ll be visiting either resort until the bridge is repaired and deemed safe by Disney World construction crews. In the meantime, you also need to be aware that rooms in the Magnolia Bend section of Port Orleans — Riverside are also currently under refurbishment.
