Just a few days ago, a popular Magic Kingdom attraction went under refurbishment for a short period of time, with a set reopening date of July 26th. There she is! So we headed to the park bright and early to check out the ride to see what had changed…and found that it wasn’t open just yet. We thought it was just a minor delay, but let’s just say, we’ve since been proven VERY wrong. Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid was scheduled to be under refurbishment from July 21st-25th, meaning its first day of operation should have been the 26th. Nothing was supposed to change in the attraction; it’s just supposed to be for routine maintenance. Looks really empty… We last checked on the ride at 3 PM, and it was STILL closed, meaning it hadn’t been open ALL DAY. Cast Members at the attraction weren’t able to give us any information about a potential reopening time, so it’s possible that something with the refurbishment is taking longer than anticipated. Still closed! While this ride isn’t one of the most popular in the park, it’s a great filler attraction that’s fantastic for all ages, and is super nostalgic for those who love The Little Mermaid. It’s a classic, omnimover dark ride attraction, meaning it’s constantly moving, so it has quite a large rider capacity (even though each seashell only fits 2-3 people). Meeting characters in Disney World is part of the fun, and for many, those character interactions are even better than rides because we’re making lifetime memories. Hollywood & Vine We bet EVERYONE can remember the first time they met Mickey and Minnie, right? One of the BEST ways to meet characters in Disney World is by booking a character dining experience, and for many, a character breakfast is the perfect way to start a day in Disney World. Well, for those who love the Disney Jr. character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’ve got some bad news. That character breakfast is changing soon. If you’ve ever had a meal at Hollywood and Vine, you might know that there are actually two character dining experiences available there. Breakfast is Disney Junior Play n’ Dine, which is a breakfast buffet with Disney Junior characters like Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, and more. Doc McStuffins at Disney Junior Play n’ Dine Lunch and dinner is Minnie’s Seasonal Dining, which is a themed character dining experience to the season with Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, and more. Disney recently revealed that breakfast will soon become Minnie’s Seasonal Dining, too, meaning that the Disney Junior Play n’ Dine will be going away. Mickey at Minnie’s Seasonal Dining This change starts on October 12th, so if you want to see the Disney Junior characters for breakfast, you’ll want to make a reservation for October 11th or earlier. Disney has not given details on why it’s making this change. However, a new Disney Jr. show is in the works for Hollywood Studios once Disney Jr. Play and Dance closes. Disney Jr. Play & Dance I’ve been to Hollywood and Vine for lunch, and the character experience with Minnie and all her friends is up there as one of my favorites. It’s likely that adding Minnie and her friends for breakfast might prove very popular, so you’ll want to jump on reservations for that quickly. Let’s face it, generally speaking, the character breakfasts and brunches in Disney World tend to be better (at least when it comes to food) than other character dining meals. You just can’t go wrong with breakfast foods, right? Plus there are a lot of us who book character breakfasts the day we leave Disney World just to get that one last little bit of magic in before returning to the real world (ew). I go to Disney World every day and I’ve tried dozens of handheld fans attempting to stave off the sun’s blazing rays. But I’ve got to confess I grossly underestimated the power of this tiny Mickey fan! Mickey fan When you’re out in the sun every day at Disney World during the hottest months of the year, the heat can be brutal. While I’m partial to a few of the hand held fans I’ve tried before, not one of them impressed me as much as this adorable tiny fan. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. You’ve got to try this Mickey Misting Fan! Mickey Misting Fan This is probably the cutest hand fan I’ve ever laid eyes on for the parks! It’s one of the smallest and most convenient fans that I’ve ever taken with me. Its compact size and multiple speed settings make it ideal for everyday or vacation use. My editor will probably never be able to take it away from me now that I’ve had the opportunity to use it myself! View on Amazon This thing has the BEST features! Back of the fan It has 3 speeds, and who can resist the charms of a fan with Mickey ears that practically fits in your palm?! It also has nubs that I’ll refer to as “feet” to keep the fan upright without tipping over, and it has a plastic cage around the actual fan part so I don’t have to worry about one of my kids sticking their fingers in it. It’s also rechargeable with its own USB-C charging cord (comes included in the packaging) and lights up red while its being charged to let you know that it’s actively charging. Charging It’s fairly easy to work, and the back stick rotates down so you can have a longer handle to hold it and work the button for the fan and mister. Accessories The package also comes with a dropper for the water reserve so you have an easier time to fill it, and it’s small enough to take with you if you need to. View on Amazon There’s just one thing I wasn’t head over heels about it. With the handle pulled down The misting feature is cool in theory, but not super practical in practice. When I first heard it was a “misting” fan I figured it was one like what’s sold in the Disney parks where you squirt a jet of water in spurts that gets displaced by the fan blades but nope, this one is a legitimate misting fan. Hard to see the mist It creates a small stream of mist from the center ring just under the fan — the drawback with this one is it’s not very strong. In order to feel it you have to have your face very close to the fan (if it’s helpful at all), and hope that the wind’s direction doesn’t steer it away from your face otherwise you’re turning your hand in hopes of staying with the way the breeze is blowing the mist. But, while the water reservoir is small, it seems to be sufficient, because it took several uses to run it out after the first fill up. View on Amazon Oh yeah, it’s a new park bag essential! So cute! You will absolutely need a fan like this for your trip — at least some sort of hand held fan. Even if you don’t end up using the misting feature, I would highly recommend one that’s small like this. It certainly made my visit to the parks easier and much more enjoyable. Even set to the highest speed settings its battery life still is on the stronger side which scored major brownie points in my book! Sometimes saving money at Disney World feels like finding a hidden Mickey in plain sight. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom in early August, we’ve got good news. Lightning Lane prices are finally taking a dip on a few select dates, and we’ve got the confirmed list right here. Whether you’re budgeting your trip down to the last dollar or just trying to pick the best day to ride more for less, this post is for you. First, What Even Is a Lightning Lane? If you’ve been out of the Disney loop for a minute, here’s a quick refresher. Lightning Lanes are the skip-the-line entrances for major rides across Disney World parks. Instead of waiting in the regular standby line, you book a return time and breeze through a much shorter queue. There are a few types: ©Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP): This is Disney’s replacement for Genie+. You pay a base price through the My Disney Experience app and pick up to three Lightning Lane reservations in advance for select rides. You can grab more as you go, and it covers most attractions in the park. Lightning Lane Single Pass (LLSP): This is the pay-per-ride option for high-demand attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. You pay individually for each ride, and pricing changes based on the day. Lightning Lane Premier Pass (LLPP): This is the all-access pass. One price gets you Lightning Lane entry to every eligible ride in the park—no need to book specific times or manage selections all day long. It’s available in very limited quantities, and yes, it’s the most expensive option of the three. All three options can be purchased in advance—7 days out if you’re staying at a Disney hotel (or select partner hotels like Shades of Green and Swan/Dolphin), or 3 days out for everyone else. You can buy LLMP, LLSP, or both in one transaction depending on how you want to plan your day. Now that we’re all caught up, let’s talk prices. LLMP: Five Days When You’ll Pay Less August is typically a hot and busy month in the parks, and Lightning Lane Multi Pass pricing reflects that. For most dates between August 1st and 15th, the price is a hefty $32 per person. But if you’re flexible with your dates, you could pay less. Lightning Lane for Laugh Floor These are the five confirmed dates when LLMP drops to $29: August 7th August 10th August 11th August 12th August 14th It’s only a $3 difference, but when you’re buying for a family of four or more, that savings adds up fast—especially if you’re trying to get the most value out of your day at Magic Kingdom. We’re also seeing one outlier on August 9th, when the price jumps up to $35. So if you’re trying to avoid peak pricing, that’s definitely a date to skip. LLSP: Big Savings on Big Rides TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are two of the most in-demand rides at Magic Kingdom. They each require a Lightning Lane Single Pass, and these prices fluctuate even more than the Multi Pass. TRON Lightning Lane If you’re aiming to hit both without spending a small fortune, here are five confirmed dates when the prices drop: August 3rd August 4th August 5th August 6th August 7th On these days: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train drops to $11 TRON Lightcycle / Run drops to $19 Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Lightning Lane For reference, TRON can hit $21+ on higher crowd days, and Seven Dwarfs often floats closer to $13–$14, so this is a solid discount. If your kids are desperate to ride both and you don’t want to brave long standby waits, these are the days to aim for. So, What’s the Strategy? If you’re looking to stack savings, August 7th is the magic day. You get the lower LLMP price and the cheapest LLSP pricing for the two biggest rides in the park. It’s the only confirmed date so far where all three prices dip together, and that’s rare. Lightning Lane It’s also worth pointing out that these price changes aren’t random. Disney adjusts Lightning Lane pricing based on predicted crowd levels, so cheaper days usually mean lower park attendance. That means shorter standby lines too—not just lower Lightning Lane costs. Should You Plan Your Park Day Around This? If you’re already going to be in the parks the first half of August and haven’t finalized which day to hit Magic Kingdom, absolutely. Picking a cheaper day for Lightning Lanes can mean riding more rides and saving some serious cash. Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane But if your dates are locked in, don’t stress. Even if you’re going on a higher-price day like August 9th, you can still make it work. Prioritize rope drop, know which rides get long lines early, and consider saving your Lightning Lane budget for the attractions where it’ll save you the most time. We’ll keep watching for more pricing updates as August gets closer, but for now—these are the confirmed days when you’ll get the best deal. Stay tuned to DFB for more. NEW characters are meeting in Disneyland to celebrate the release of Disney’s newest film, and we could not be any more excited! Time to meet some new friends! Fantastic Four: First Steps just released in theaters on July 25th, and to celebrate, you can now meet the stars of the film in Disneyland! Now, this meet and greet is POPULAR, but if you’re fans of the franchise, it’s totally worth the wait! That’s right — you can now meet the Fantastic Four gang, as well as H.E.R.B.I.E., in Tomorrowland for a limited time! In our experience, we saw H.E.R.B.I.E. come out on his own and speak with guests in real time! He was super cute. We highly recommend chatting with him. Hi H.E.R.B.I.E.! The members of the Fantastic Four come out in two separate groups — Reed Richards and Sue Storm come out together in one group to greet guests, and after a little while, they go back inside to check on things and make sure nothing’s going wrong. It’s Reed and Sue! The other group is made up of Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, so if you want to meet all four of them, you’ll have to wait through both cycles! There’s Ben and Johnny! We had a great time with both of these meet and greets and wish these would stick around for longer! At this time, there’s no official closing date that’s been announced for this meet and greet, but our assumption is that it’ll only be for a few weeks (at most) while the film is in theaters. As Disney popcorn buckets have become one of the hottest collector’s items amongst Disney fans, I’ve found myself torn. In the 6+ years I’ve been writing about the company’s theme parks — and the decades of fandom that predated them — I’ve seen several popcorn buckets that I really do like. However, they do seem a bit overpriced to me at times, and I don’t think they merit the long lines and occasional hysteria that accompanies their release. Nothing can stop HIM now However, the latest popcorn bucket to hit Walt Disney World has me rethinking that, as I don’t think I can resist the charms of this one. The talking Mickey Mouse popcorn bucket – which was originally released at Disneyland in conjunction with the beginning of the park’s 70th anniversary celebration back in May – hit Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently. Mickey Popcorn Bucket! Decked out in Mickey’s best dress clothes, this is no ordinary popcorn bucket. Mickey is interactive, with blinking eyes, a moving head, and several sounds and phrases. The on and off switch The bucket is available at select popcorn carts throughout the parks, and is available for $45 (Interestingly, $10 cheaper than the Disneyland price). Mickey Mouse Popcorn Bucket The buckets are limited to two per-person, and include a serving of popcorn – which can be eaten out of the back of Mickey’s head – with purchase. You place the popcorn in the back of his head Disney’s latest popcorn bucket offering is more an interactive collectible than a simple popcorn receptacle. Okay, so if you’ve been keeping up with everything happening in Downtown Disney in Disneyland, you’ll know that there have been some MAJOR changes made to the shopping and dining district, with more to come. Earl of Sandwich Tavern One of the big changes we’ve been anticipating is the arrival of a Porto’s Bakery location. However, that arrival was recently expected to close down the current location of Earl of Sandwich Tavern SOON, but it looks like that location, as well as the other temporary Earl of Sandwich location, will remain open a bit longer. So for now, both Earl of Sandwich locations will remain. The thing is…there’s MORE. There’s also a THIRD location, an Earl of Sandwich food truck on the west end of Downtown Disney that opened in 2024. As far as we know, that will also remain open. Temporary Earl of Sandwich location at Downtown Disney But we’re not finished yet because a permanent NEW Earl of Sandwich is also being built in Downtown Disney. This will be a two-story restaurant with a quick service walk-up counter, a sit-down Earl of Sandwich Tavern restaurant, and an upstairs cocktail bar. The important thing to note is that you’ll still be able to get Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 5 Nightmare Hotel Stays We’ve Heard About in Disneyland Want to Learn More About Disneyland? Check Out the Links Below! A big change is coming soon for Americans traveling to Europe! London Heathrow Airport Traveling can be stressful, especially when heading out of the country. If you’re the type who likes to know exactly what to expect to cut down on anxiety from surprises, we’ve got an important update about a change that’s coming soon for Americans traveling to Europe. After several previous delays, Europe’s long-awaited Entry/Exit System (EES) is expected to launch in October 2025. The EES is an automated system for registering non-European Union nationals traveling to Europe for a short stay (up to 90 days within a 180-day period) when they cross the borders of any of the 29 European countries participating in the system. ©European Union When the EES system officially begins, non-EU citizens will have their fingerprints taken or face photographed by passport control officers, which will be recorded in a digital file. Upon returning, this information will only need to be verified, which should be quicker than the initial visit. Also, passports will no longer be stamped, as this system will make the process entirely digital. ©U.S. Department of State The new system is intended to modernize border management in Europe, improve security, and combat identity fraud. The Entry/Exit system is currently expected to begin in October 2025, and the European Union will provide a specific start date in the months prior to launch. London Heathrow Airport When the system does begin, it’s important to factor in potential delays at European airports, especially in the first few months. We’ll be on the lookout for a confirmed launch date, so stay tuned to DFB for more updates. 5 All-Inclusive Travel Destinations in The US Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Desserts are located ALL over Disneyland Resort — we’d know, we’ve tried them all — but not all of them are worth your time and money. Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree That’s why we do what we do! We’re here to try all the latest snacks in the parks and let you know which ones we think are totally worth spending your money on, and which ones you may want to just admire from afar. If you’re headed over to Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, these desserts are delicious, but only ONE is worth the cost! The newer item on the menu here is the Banana Pudding for $7.59, which is Bananas, Whipped Cream, Crushed Wafer Cookies, Dulce de Leche, and Toffee. Banana Pudding This was delicious, don’t get us wrong, especially with those toffee crumbles on top, as well as the difference in texture between the smooth pudding and crunchy wafers. However, with the size of the treat, we think it’s way more expensive than it should be. If it were closer in the $5-$6 range, we’d say it’s more worth it! It’s good though, don’t get us wrong! And since we loved them so much the first time, we had to grab our beloved Peach Cobbler Funnel Cake Fries for $9.99 again! These are made with Cinnamon Sugar, Peach Topping, Vanilla Ice Cream, and Streusel. Peach Cobbler Funnel Cake Fries This is totally peach cobbler in funnel cake fry form, and it’s incredible. The peaches are sweet, the streusel adds a nice crunch, and the ice cream is great. Driving to Disney World just got a little more complicated. Florida If you’re planning to road trip your way to the Most Magical Place on Earth this August, there are some brand-new Florida driving laws you absolutely need to know about. These aren’t just minor changes — we’re talking potential jail time, hefty fines, and even wake zones. Whether you’re cruising down I-4 or dodging an afternoon downpour, here’s what could catch you off guard (and possibly cost you big time). Let’s break it down so you don’t end up breaking any rules. Driving 100 MPH on I-4? That’s Now a Criminal Offense Florida has officially said “nope” to reckless speeding. As of July 1st, 2025, a new law called HB 351 (also known as the “Super Speeder” law) makes driving way over the speed limit a criminal offense. And by “way,” we mean: Driving 50 mph or more over the posted speed limit Or hitting 100 mph at any time Even if you’re just trying to zip past a slowpoke in the left lane or beat a summer storm, if you cross those speed thresholds — it’s not a ticket, it’s criminal. First offense? That could mean up to 30 days in jail, a $500 fine, or both. Do it again within five years and it gets much worse: Up to 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, and they can suspend your license for half a year to a full year. Be careful on the road! This matters a lot for Disney-goers driving through areas like I‑4, Florida’s Turnpike, and I‑75, where the speed limits can shift — especially near construction zones or toll plazas. Even a short burst over the limit (like flooring it during a lane merge) can get you flagged. Orlando Sign Moral of the story: cruise control is your friend. Keep it cool, stay alert, and don’t try to be Lightning McQueen on your way to Lightning Lane. Yes, “No-Wake Zones” Now Apply to Cars This might sound like something from a boating guide, but it’s real. Florida is now cracking down on “wake driving” — but for cars — during flood conditions. ©2025 FOX Television Stations Starting July 1st, 2025, local governments can declare “no-wake” driving zones during floods. That means if you drive fast enough through water to splash waves onto people’s property (or worse, into their homes), you could be cited. ©2025 FOX Television Stations Right now, enforcement is focused more on warnings than fines — but don’t count on that forever. And Orlando’s summer weather? It loves to turn an afternoon shower into a surprise flood. So if you’re navigating through a soggy parking lot or dealing with standing water near your hotel, ease up on the gas. You’re not driving a jet ski. Teens, Heads Up: Getting a Learner’s Permit Just Got Tougher Got a teen who’s hoping to do some of the driving on your Disney trip? Florida’s learner’s permit rules are getting a major update — and they kick in August 1st, 2025. ©Shutterstock Anyone 14½ to 17 years old applying for a permit after that date needs to: Complete a 6-hour live instructor-led driver ed course (on top of the usual 4-hour drug/alcohol course) Pass a vision and hearing test Take the Class E knowledge exam Provide parental consent And once they have the permit, there are strict limits: Only daylight driving for the first 3 months Must be with a licensed adult 21 or older 50 supervised hours required (10 of those must be at night) This is a big change from the current process, so if your teen was planning to get their permit right before your Disney trip and help with the drive, they may need more prep time than expected. Definitely check your timeline — and maybe bring some extra coffee if you’re doing all the driving solo. Welcome to Disney World! If you’re heading to Disney World this August, we want you to actually get there — not get pulled over, stuck in court, or dealing with insurance headaches. Florida isn’t messing around with these new rules, and neither should you. We’ll keep you posted on more updates that could affect your trip, but for now: slow down, stay dry, and maybe let someone else drive through the puddles. Be cautious when driving. We’ve got great news for Disney California Adventure fans who are planning to visit the park for this Halloween season! Villains Grove Oogie Boogie Bash is a BIG hit each and every year, and we don’t think 2025 will be any different. One of the offerings we look forward to at each party is Villains Grove over at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. It’s a great way to meet some of your favorite villains in a slightly spooky way, but it does mean the trail has to close about a month in advance of the party to get it ready. Thankfully, we now know when the trail will officially be reopening! Normally, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is a great spot for families to climb rocks, experience a ropes course, play on a tire swing, and head into the enchanted cave. It’s lots of fun for the whole family, and even when it’s been transformed for Oogie Boogie Bash, it’s usually still open during the day for guests to enjoy, it’s just got more of a Halloween theme! Villains Grove at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail Currently, the trail is closed and has been since July 21st to make the change for the Halloween season. However, times are now showing again for August 15th, meaning it looks like that’s when the trail will be back open for guests to enjoy. ©Disney The first night of Oogie Boogie Bash is August 17th so it’ll be open two days before the party officially starts. You may be able to go in and get a sneak peek at how Halloween has taken over the trail before the party begins a few days later! Villains Grove Map Looking for more recent Disneyland Resort news? If you’re visiting Disney World’s parks and you’re looking for breakfast, sometimes your options are limited. Chefs de France Of course, there are always character dining experiences to book, plus you can always grab something to eat at one of the Starbucks locations in the park. However, if you’re looking for a breakfast in EPCOT, you’re about to have a new option…at least during the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. That’s because a new breakfast buffet is coming to the France Pavilion! The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival begins on August 29th and runs through November 23rd. As a special event during the festival, you’ll be able to have a breakfast buffet at Chefs de France where you can “Indulge in a traditional French breakfast experience that transports you straight to the cafés of Paris.” Yes, yes, we know, a traditional Parisian cafe breakfast is usually a bitter coffee and a croissant, but hear us out… Chefs de France The buffet will consist of assorted French pastries like croissants, pain au chocolat, almond croissants, and more. Plus there will be freshly baked baguettes, premium cheeses, and artisanal cured meats. Smoked salmon and fresh fruit will also be on the buffet. So it’s a traditional French breakfast done the American way…ALL YOU CAN EAT. Now, we are totally down with all you can eat pastries and bread, so this sounds AMAZING. All you can eat baguettes? YES, please! But that’s not all. You’ll also be able to drink unlimited mimosas (!!!), fruit juices, and freshly brewed coffee. So it’s a plussed up French-style breakfast. So if that sounds good, reservations for this breakfast will open on August 12th for seatings that will begin on September 5th. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more special events at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 7 Things You NEED To Know About the 2025 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort hotel, one of the most valuable perks you get is Early Theme Park Entry—a full 30-minute head start before the gates open to the general public. Early entry sign! I’ve personally tested these perks at all four parks (yes, even on the days when I had to drag my sleepy family out the door before sunrise), and I can confidently say: if you use it right, Early Entry is pure Disney gold. But I’ve also learned the hard way that if you don’t plan ahead, you can easily waste that precious half hour stuck in crowds, wandering aimlessly, or standing in a coffee line. So after lots of early alarms and plenty of trial and error, here are 5 hacks to make the most of Early Entry at Walt Disney World from someone who has been going to Disney World for decades. 1. Get to the Bus or Skyliner EARLY (Like… Really Early) Here’s the truth: if you’re showing up at your resort’s bus stop 30 minutes before Early Entry starts, you’re already behind. That means if Early Entry is at 8:30 AM, be at your resort bus stop or Skyliner no later than 7:15 AM if you are looking to take full advantage of the time you’ll have. Disney transportation typically starts running 45–60 minutes before Early Entry, and being on the first few buses or gondolas means you’ll be among the first guests tapping into the park. This small adjustment can completely change your day. Disney Bus 2. Skip the Starbucks Line I get it, you want caffeine and a breakfast sandwich to survive the day, but trust me, Starbucks is not your friend during Early Entry. The line gets long fast and can eat up most of your early park time, plus at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, all guests can access the Starbucks location during Early Entry. Instead, we saw to grab coffee and maybe a snack at your resort early that morning and mobile order your breakfast after you ride during Early Entry. EPCOT Starbucks Line 3. Know Which Rides Are Actually Open During Early Entry One mistake I see all the time is people heading toward rides that aren’t even open during Early Entry. Not every attraction is available during those first 30 minutes, and each park is different. Knowing this in advance saves you from wasting time walking all the way across the park to a closed ride. Find a Full List of Rides Open During Early Entry Here! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure 4. Have One Clear Priority Ride and Head Straight There Early Entry is not the time to “see where the crowds are going” or wander around deciding what you want to do. Pick your #1 ride in advance and head straight there like you’re on a mission. At Magic Kingdom, that might be Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. At Hollywood Studios, it might be Slinky Dog Dash. If you’re not first, the line builds fast. Having a clear goal keeps you focused and gives you the best shot at hitting your must-do attraction without a huge wait. Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios 5. Use Early Entry for Rider Swap If You Have Littles If you’re traveling with young kids who can’t ride the thrill rides, Early Entry is the perfect time to take advantage of Rider Swap. Here’s how it works: One adult waits with the non-riding child while the other rides. Then, the waiting adult can ride without standing in line again. And yes, Rider Swap works during Early Entry! For rides like Flight of Passage, Space Mountain, or Smugglers Run, this hack lets both parents enjoy the top-tier rides without giving up that early advantage. Just ask a Cast Member at the entrance to help set it up before you enter the line. Flight of Passage Whether you’re chasing thrills, trying to fit in more magic before naptime, or just want to beat the Florida heat, those 30 minutes can truly make or break your day. Summer is always extremely hot in Disney World, but there are certain times when it’s hotter than normal, and you need to be REALLY careful. Summer in Magic Kingdom If you’re heading to Disney World this weekend you’ll need to upgrade your staying cool tactics because it’s about to be EXTRA hot. Grab those cooling towels, mini fans, and big hats — here’s what you’ve got to watch out for. The National Weather Service in Melbourne has warned Florida visitors about the upcoming weather on the way this weekend. Hot and humid conditions are forecasted for July 26th, with thankfully low chances of rain. However, a Heat Advisory is in effect for portions of east central Florida, including the counties where Disney World is located, for peak heat index values up to 108-110 degrees. ©NWS Melbourne The temperatures themselves are going to be in the low to mid-90s, but that heat index is going to make things feel MUCH hotter. It’s important to stay hydrated and drink BEFORE you’re thirsty, wear light clothing (both in color and in fit), stay in the air conditioning when you can, and avoid doing activities outside during the heat of the day. ©NWS Melbourne Orlando’s going to be one of the hottest in normal temperature, hitting around 98 degrees at the height of the day, which beats a previous record held in 1936, a whopping 89 years ago! ©NWS Melbourne Additionally, if you’re at the beach in Florida, you’ll want to watch out for dangerous rip currents and breaking waves around two feet high. Rip currents can affect even the best swimmers, so this is something to really watch out for and be careful when swimming today! ©NWS Melbourne Looking for more recent news you need to know? Y’all. It’s almost time. Halloween season will be arriving in both Disney World and Disneyland soon, and although it’s still so hot out that we’re swimming in our own sweat, we are SO ready for fall flavors. Starbucks You know what this means, though, right? It means that the Starbucks seasonal favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte will be arriving on menus soon, and now we know when. Not only that, but we also know about some NEW fall menu items arriving at the coffee chain, so let’s take a look! Yes, the Pumpkin Spice Latte will be returning to Starbucks soon, along with the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai. Bring on the pumpkin spice flavors because it’s fall y’all (well, it will be fall in our mouths, at least, while summer drags on a little longer.) Y’all, I’m a big fan of the pumpkin spice latte myself, but that Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew HITS hard during the hotter months leading into fall, so I’m counting down the days. Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte The Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte will also be heading to menus soon for the fall season. This is another cozy drink if you want to switch from pumpkin pie to pecan flavors for your morning coffee. However, if you want to try something new, you’ll be able to order the Pecan Cortado, an espresso drink blended with equal parts milk and a pecan syrup. YUM. ©Starbucks The fall menu will also bring some new food, including Italian Sausage Egg Bites. We don’t have any big details about this new item yet, but it sounds amazing. These, along with the new fall drinks, will be available as of August 26th. ©Starbucks Can’t wait for pumpkin spice to arrive in Starbucks cafes? You can grab the full pumpkin product line, including creamers, packaged coffee, K-Cups, and more, in grocery stores right now. Stay tuned to DFB for more. PSST! The 2025 installment of EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival is right around the corner, and this is EVERYTHING we know so far. Food & Wine Festival In addition, I’m also including a few evergreen tips for maximizing your experience at the festival that I’ve picked up over several years of covering the annual extravaganza. Dates The 2025 edition of EPCOT’s annual festival — the 31st in the park’s history — will take place from August 28th through November 22nd. While Disney has yet to officially confirm a full list of booths as of press time, the company says that the fest will be a “cornucopia of cultures, cuisines and innovative cooking techniques from chefs worldwide” that is “replete with delicious dishes, fine wine, craft beer, spirits and other beverages to satisfy every palate.” Eat to the Beat Concert Series Lineup What is confirmed about the 2025 festival is the lineup for the ever-popular series of concerts that take place at the America Gardens theater during the festival. Eat to the Beat This year’s lineup is as follows: August 29th – 30th: Joey Fatone & Friends August 31st – September 1st: MercyMe September 5th – 6th: KT Tunstall September 7th – 8th: TobyMac September 12th – 14th: STARSHIP featuring Mickey Thomas September 15th: Bacilos September 19th – 20th: Sheila E. September 21st – 22nd: Ben Rector September 26th – 27th: Tiffany September 28th – 29th: Jesse & Joy October 3rd – 4th: Baha Men October 5th – 6th: New Found Glory October 10th – 11th: The Wanted 2.0 October 12th – 13th: The Fray October 17th – 20th: Hanson October 24th – 25th: Hoobastank October 26th – 27th: Smash Mouth October 31st – November 1st: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy November 2nd – 3rd: Boyz II Men November 7th – 8th: David Archuleta November 9th – 10th: Jordin Sparks November 14th – 15th: Bowling For Soup November 16th – 17th: The Beach Boys Eat to the Beat Concert Series Dining Packages If you want to guarantee access to one of those concerts, your best bet may be booking a special dining package. You can score reserved seat by buying an Eat to the Beat dining package! These packages include: An entrée and dessert, or one full buffet (where applicable, as well as a nonalcoholic beverage per person at participating restaurants. While it can be tempting to be there “first”, some booths and foods may not be ready, crowds will be large, and in turn, waits will be long. Don’t rope drop if you’re only going for the Festival. While it can be tempting to want to start your day as early as possible, the reality is that most of the booths don’t open until 11:00, so unless you’re planning on squeezing in an early morning spin on Cosmic Rewind or Space Mountain, it’s best to arrive a bit later. Be prepared for heavier crowds for booths in the area near Test Track, as the attraction will be open for the first time during Food & Wine since 2003. Finally, perhaps most importantly, stay hydrated and balance your intake of sugary snacks and/or alcoholic beverages with water 3 Daughters Brewing Fig Hard Cider With this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival weeks away, details of the 2025 version of the iconic event are coming into sharper focus. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. The BOATHOUSE We recently stopped by The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs to check out a new take on an old classic, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! The BOATHOUSE is home to one of our favorite drinks in all of Disney Springs — and maybe all of Disney World! The Duck Duck Razz is made with Skyy Raspberry Vodka, Blue Curacao, lemon juice, and simple syrup, and it comes with an adorable rubber duck! Duck Duck Razz Well, imagine our excitement when we found out that right now, The BOATHOUSE has a FROZEN Duck Duck Razz — that’s served in a souvenir cup! That’s right, for $22, you can get a frozen version of the drink we know and love in an adorable souvenir cup that you can use again and again. Frozen Duck Duck Razz It’s basically an alcoholic blue raspberry slushie, which we have zero complaints about. You can definitely taste the raspberry, but it’s not in your face like a kid’s slushie would be. It did melt on us pretty quickly, but that’s par for the course when you’re drinking frozen drinks in the middle of summer at Disney World. Frozen Duck Duck Razz It has that taste of the Duck Duck Razz drink that you might be familiar with — the light alcoholic taste with a twinge of that tangy raspberry flavor to it. It’s not super sweet, and you have just a hint of alcoholic taste to it. It’s just enough to be like, oh, there’s a little bit of alcohol in there. This is a pretty good deal if you’re looking for a memorable souvenir and something to whet your whistle with! How cute is he?! SeaWorld Orlando has capped off its list of haunted houses that will be in the lineup for the 2025 edition of Howl-O-Scream, the theme park’s fifth year to host an after-hours scare fest. The latest announced house, which has theming new to the event, will be called Widow’s Nest. The official description involves cobwebs, a Victorian orphanage and the Black Widow. “Driven mad by grief and obsession, she spins her creations from silk and bone, stitching together a web of terror that traps all who dare to enter,” the official website reads. Previously announced mazes include the Rave Yard (“dancing with the damned for eternity”), the Collector’s Curse (monstrous mutations), Farm 51 (extra-terrestrial in the backwoods) and Water’s Edge Wellness Center (“where the line between the living and the dead is blurred”). Howl-O-Scream also will include six scare zones and five themed zones. SeaWorld also has announced the return of “Monster Stomp,” a dark stage show that incorporates Jack the Ripper, percussion, dancing and more on stage. Howl-O-Scream is the park’s intense, after-hours, extra-ticket Halloween event that’s held on select nights between Sept. 5 and Nov. 1. SeaWorld continues its Spooktacular event, a daytime, family-friendly activity that’s included with regular park admission. For tickets or more information, go to seaworldorlando.com.
