  1. A new playground is in the works for Disney’s Hollywood Studios! ©Disney You might have thought Disney World had its hands full with changes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios between a new Monsters Inc. themed rollercoaster and land and two new shows. However, it seems that Disney World isn’t quite finished with new offerings for one of its most popular parks! They’ve just made some HUGE announcements about one of the lands we’ve had our eyes on for a while, and fans will be thrilled to hear it’s getting even more TLC soon! In a recent announcement, Disney World just confirmed the Animation Courtyard area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close to make way for NEW experiences. While we’re thrilled to see more attention being put into this land of the park, the new additions are bringing on the nostalgic feels of attractions that used to be found here. ©Disney One of the biggest announcements Disney World made that would be coming to Animation Courtyard was plans for the “Drawn to Wonderland” playground addition. This playground will be filled with an oversized flower garden complete with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party play set, and a Tulgey Wood exploration area heavily inspired by the original “Alice in Wonderland” concept art from Disney Legend Mary Blair. Best of all, this whimsical play area for little ones will be set indoors, allowing even more comfort for their curiosities to grow! ©Disney This announcement joins other planned additions to Animation Courtyard where you can explore and create, meet with characters, and once again learn to draw a few of your favorite Disney pals when “The Magic of Disney Animation” opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios next year. Disney has also confirmed that these new experiences will join the already existing (and recently reopened) The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure show that’s become a welcome addition to the entertainment lineup offered, especially during the hot summer months. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure Disney fans from decades past may remember another playground based on “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids” that featured larger-than-life camera film rolls, insects that buzzed, and features that spouted when you stepped in specific areas — this almost sounds like that, and we can’t wait to learn more! We’ll be sure to keep an eye on changes within the park and future announcements Disney will make about these upcoming additions! Be sure to check back in with us at Disney Food Blog soon. 2. Loungefly bags are basically the MVPs of Disney style — cute, collectible, and surprisingly functional for a park day (or, let’s be real, just running errands with a little extra magic). We love Loungefly! And when they go on sale, we drop everything. Right now, there are a bunch of Loungefly mini backpacks on Amazon marked down by up to 33%, and these designs are chef’s kiss levels of adorable. Whether you’re a villain stan, a hopeless romantic, or loyal to your childhood faves, there’s a bag with your name on it. Let’s take a look before they sell out. Loungefly Disney Hercules 25TH Anniversary MEG & HERC Mini Backpack ©Amazon This bag is basically a Greek myth in fashion form. Hercules and Meg are featured in a dreamy, romantic moment with pink cloud layers in debossed detail. There’s even a hidden zip compartment behind the clouds — complete with a shiny little lightning bolt zipper pull. The back shows off a cherub statue fountain with birds that low-key resemble Pain and Panic. Whether you’re strolling through the parks or just manifesting a meet-cute at Target, this one’s a vibe. View on Amazon Loungefly Disney Daisy Duck & Minnie Mouse Mini Convertible Backpack ©Disney This one’s giving “pastel besties on a shopping trip.” With soft colors and fun art of Minnie and Daisy living their fashion girl era, this bag is adorable — but it’s also practical. The straps are convertible, so you can wear it as a backpack or a crossbody, depending on your mood or outfit. Honestly, this one’s perfect for spring/summer looks or anytime you want to channel your inner Disney style icon. View on Amazon Loungefly Disney Eeyore Cosplay Mini Backpack ©Amazon Sad boy chic? View on Amazon Loungefly Disney Princess and the Frog Tiana Lenticular Mini Backpack ©Amazon Okay, elegance alert. This Tiana backpack is so pretty — but what really makes it pop is the lenticular design. That means the image shifts and moves as you do. View on Amazon Loungefly Disney Minnie Floral Rock The Dots Mini Backpack ©Amazon Classic Minnie, but make it fashion-forward. View on Amazon Loungefly Disney Villains Iridescent Mini Backpack ©Amazon Bad girls (and guys) only. This iridescent villains backpack is as fierce as it is shiny — and it’s covered in icons like Maleficent, Ursula, Hades, and more. Snag it now while it’s majorly marked down. View on Amazon Loungefly Disney Sleeping Beauty Stained Glass Castle Mini Backpack ©Amazon This bag is basically a work of art. 4. We have the coolest news ever! Sorcerer’s Hat at Hollywood Studios If you’re obsessed with Hollywood Studios like us, especially the original version, which focused on being an animation studio, we have big, big news for you. In 2026, Star Wars: Launch Bay will be transformed into “a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.” The top of the building has Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat (if you know, you know.) ©Disney Inside, you’ll be able to interact and explore this take on the Disney Animation headquarters. You’ll see portraits come alive before your eyes and “pencil in some time to learn to draw your very own character sketch.” Sounds like we won’t have to run to Animal Kingdom or wait till EPCOT Festival of the Arts to take a drawing class! ©Disney There will be the Drawn to Wonderland playground, featuring an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area,” based on the original concept art of Alice in Wonderland by Mary Blair. ©Disney Disney also says there will be lots of Disney characters around the area! The whole area will be heavily inspired by the Walt Disney Studios Lot, with several buildings straight from Burbank. They also said that families will be able to take a break to “play, relax, or snack on tasty treats under lush trees.” They teased that “you never know who you might see playing in the branches, soaking up the sun, or digging in the grass.” ©Disney The Disney Jr. show is also getting a new makeover! The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure will still be there as well. Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will close on September 25, 2025, to make room for the transformation. The Magic of Disney Animation will open in 2026 in the Animation Courtyard, and we’re thrilled. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more! 5. The second you see those sparkly ears in the parks, you know someone woke up early to snag them. Minnie Ears There used to be a time when grabbing a cute pair of Minnie ears felt like a fun part of the Disney experience. But lately? The competition is intense, the drops are limited, and the “just for fun” part is kind of… gone. Today we’re talking about the Minnie Ear trend Disney Adults took to the next level — and not necessarily in a good way. The Blue Hydrangea Sequin Ears Were the Breaking Point Let’s start with a specific pair that really lit the match: the Minnie Mouse Blue Hydrangea ears. These shimmered like something out of a Pinterest fever dream — all-over sequins, oversized bow, satin-covered headband, and a soft velour lining to keep them from slipping off mid-Dole Whip. They were part of the Colour Story Collection, made by Loungefly, and exclusive to the parks and the Disney Store online. Translation: high demand, low supply. And that’s where the chaos began. ©Disney The minute these dropped, they were practically gone. Like blink and you missed it levels of gone. And if you didn’t snag them on day one? Good luck. They hit resale sites faster than you could say “EPCOT Festival” — at three times the price. All that Disney magic? Poof. Suddenly buying Minnie ears started feeling more like trying to win a sneaker raffle than picking out something cute before rope drop. When Did This Get So Competitive? This didn’t used to be the case. For years, ears were a spontaneous purchase. You’d see a new pair at World of Disney, try them on for fun, maybe buy them, maybe not. But now, Disney Adult culture has made ears something else entirely. Entire trips are planned around exclusive drops. People set notifications, join Facebook groups, and track ear restocks with the same urgency as airline flash sales. Minne Ears The worst part? You almost never see a restock. Once a trendy pair sells out — like the Blue Hydrangea ears — they disappear. You might catch one sitting behind glass at a collector’s booth, but you’re not getting them on your next trip. And even if Disney does release something similar down the line, it’s usually a new color or style. Which means the trend-chasing starts all over again. It’s the Resellers, Too Let’s not ignore the elephant in the room: resellers are making this worse. They’ll swoop in, buy as many as they can carry, and flip them online for double or triple the price. And while yes, Disney has put some limits in place, it’s still happening. This turns what should be a fun piece of merch into a high-stakes game. The vibe has shifted from “which ears match my outfit” to “which pair do I have to buy before it’s gone forever.” Cinderella Ears Even the more casual fans have started feeling the pressure. If you’re in the parks and see a new pair of ears, there’s this moment of panic — should you grab them now? What if they’re sold out tomorrow? What if they never come back? Suddenly you’re impulse-buying a $35 headband at 9AM just to avoid the FOMO. We’re Not Saying Stop Buying Ears… But Maybe Chill a Bit To be clear, we’re not against Minnie ears. We love them. We own too many of them. And we totally understand the excitement when Disney drops a new, beautifully designed pair. But when a trend becomes more about being first than having fun, it stops feeling magical. So stunning! So here’s our advice: if you see a pair you love and they’re available, great — go for it. But don’t build your whole trip around scoring exclusive ears. Don’t let it stress you out. And definitely don’t drop $150 on resold sequins unless they spark serious joy. Disney should feel like a break from the real world — not like a race against a merchandise timer. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 6. Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California, is a place of pure magic – artists go in… beloved characters and films come out. Now, imagine stepping inside those iconic walls and seeing Disney Animation characters leap off the screen and into our world. That was the heart and premise of the Emmy Award-winning short film, “Once Upon A Studio,” and soon, it will inspire a brand-new experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Housed in a building reminiscent of the iconic Roy E. Disney Animation Building, this upcoming family experience, “The Magic of Disney Animation,” is getting ready to bring the wonder of animation to life like never before. New Adventures Under the Sorcerer Hat In 2026, the current home of Star Wars: Launch Bay will transform into a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences. Topping the building will be Mickey’s iconic Sorcerer Hat (just like the real building in California!), which will cast a spell with pixie dust. Our story in this newly reimagined space begins as the animators have temporarily stepped away… but the building is still buzzing with activity as the characters have come to life and they’re ready to play! Inside, you will interact with and explore silly takes on the iconic Disney Animation headquarters, including the many different studio departments. Only this time, some of our favorite pals have taken over to create the fun adventures. The playful and interactive moments will be around every corner. You’ll see portraits come to life before your eyes just like they did in “Once Upon A Studio;” you’ll find inspiration with a short film (with a twist, of course); and you’ll even pencil in some time to learn how to draw your very own character sketch. Our youngest animators-to-be can explore the “Drawn to Wonderland” playground filled with an oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset and a Tulgey Wood exploration area, all inspired by the original “Alice in Wonderland” concept art from Disney Legend Mary Blair. It’ll be the perfect whimsical indoor play area for little ones to grow “curiouser and curiouser!” All of those places to explore and create, and we haven’t even talked about character greetings… and there are lots! The whole family will be drawn to all the creative ways to play together when “The Magic of Disney Animation” opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios next year. The Walt Disney Studios Lot Comes to Life at Hollywood Studios The pixie dusting from the Sorcerer’s Hat will extend far beyond the walls of “The Magic of Disney Animation” as the entire courtyard is reimagined into “The Walt Disney Studios,” taking inspiration from several buildings found in Burbank. This special nod to the legendary Walt Disney Studios Lot includes our version of the Studio Theater, which will continue to house “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” and over at the soundstage, you’ll find a fresh Disney Jr. show. While exploring the studio grounds and courtyard area, families can take a break to play, relax, or snack on tasty treats under lush trees. And make sure to look around, too. You never know who you might see playing in the branches, soaking up the sun or digging in the grass. Disney Animation artists and Walt Disney Imagineers are working hand-in-hand to bring the wonder and nostalgia of Disney Animation films to the whole courtyard in new and immersive ways families will love. We can’t wait for you to experience this fantastical place in 2026. As we prepare for this transformation, Animation Courtyard and Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will close beginning September 25, 2025. During this time, guests will still be able to go under the sea with Ariel in “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and enjoy the exhibits and film presentation at Walt Disney Presents. 8. Eek! We’ve been waiting over a year to say this: Test Track is officially open in EPCOT! Test Track It closed in June 2024 to undergo a reimagining and become Test Track 3.0, and it’s now officially open for everyone to enjoy. Test Track is not offering a virtual queue, so if you want to ride, all you need is a valid park pass and be prepared to wait in line. You can also purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the attraction, but these will sell out quickly. Ready to load The attraction also has a Single Rider line. We confirmed that Test Track’s single-rider line is indeed open today and is being used; however, Cast Members hesitated to provide an estimate on how long you can expect your wait to be. When we walked by the Single Rider entrance, we noticed those entering the line were actually able to step inside the building as opposed to the standby line that queued in multiple switchback lines outside. Considering the posted opening wait time was around 2 hours, it’s hard to tell if you could actually experience a shorter wait for such a popular opening attraction. Ride entrance Keep in mind that this attraction also closes for inclement weather, so make sure to check your weather app before hopping in line. Since it recently underwent renovations, it may not be completely operational all day. Of course, we would love for the attraction to stay open all day every day, but while it’s getting used to running at full capacity, there might be some speed bumps. Outdoor section Is it busy? Oh yeah! People are ready to sit in their car, buckle in, pull on the yellow tab, and speed through Test Track. Test Track opening day morning crowds What’s changed? We received an early preview of the ride, allowing us to take in some of the details. It felt like a perfect combination of classic EPCOT with a futuristic feel. The new queue for Test Track “Get ready for an unforgettable joyride where the thrill of the open road meets the innovation of the future. As you zip past scenic vistas, discover how new technology is shaping the way we connect with each other and the world around us. Then, get a glimpse into the future of mobility and the cities of tomorrow before zooming off on an electrifying, high-speed race that will leave your imagination soaring.” The final scene on Test Track! 9. We’ve waited for this day for over a YEAR, and now, after what feels like forever, it’s FINALLY time for the public to ride this iconic EPCOT attraction again! Test Track! Test Track closed in June of 2024 to transform the 2.0 version into 3.0. Today, July 22nd, Test Track 3.0 has officially reopened to the public! We got the chance to ride the attraction a few weeks ago, and we’re thrilled that all guests now get to experience this new reimagined version. We have to admit, though, seeing THESE crowds today was NOT what we expected! Disney already announced that Test Track would reopen immediately with a Standby queue and will be part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass. There will be no Virtual Queue for this attraction, which means there’s no pre-planning involved, unless you’re purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Test Track So what do crowds look like in said standby queue on the first day of its reopening? Before we even stepped foot in the park, crowds at the entrance and around the park weren’t as bad as we were anticipating. First thing in the morning! Once we got closer to the park actually opening, people started turning up! Here they are! Around the ride itself, we immediately noticed that at around 12 minutes after the park had opened, the crowds were already filling up the queue. The line had extended out of the extended queue, almost to the World Showcase entrance. The line! On the My Disney Experience App, wait times were showing 2 hours! ©Disney Disney was prepared with the extended queue outside of the ride. People filled up the line despite the sun blaring down! The Single Rider Line is open today; however, Cast Members warned us that there is no expected time for it. If you choose to go into the single rider line, remember your parties will be split up if you choose to go in this line. Traditionally, this is a faster line, but we can’t say that for certain in the first week or two of reopening. The extended queue! During the first few weeks of this ride’s reopening, expect wait times to be pretty long! While this version doesn’t beat the original Test Track (aka, World of Motion), lots of guests are in agreement that this new version does beat its previous edition. We’re thinking that we’ll see wait times easily above 100 minutes for at least the first few months of the ride’s operation! We really love the new Test Track! 10. Well, just about everything seems to be changing in Disney World right now, and it’s enough to make your head spin. Magic Kingdom is getting a new expansion AND a new land. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting a new land. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting…yep, you guessed it…a new land. Queue entrance to Test Track There’s a huge change happening right now over in EPCOT, too. Test Track has been closed for over a year to be reimagined. Well, that reimagining is officially done, and Test Track is open to the public again. However, because of new demand for Test Track, Lightning Lane Multi Pass has also changed in EPCOT. Let’s break it down. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a separate paid service you can purchase to skip the standby lines at many rides throughout Disney World. Test Track is included as one of those rides. However, you can also preselect Lightning Lanes ahead of your Disney World visit, and that’s where things have changed. Lightning Lane brochure When you preselect Lightning Lanes, rides are given a tier. You can preselect three Lightning Lanes ahead of your Disney World visit, but you can only choose one Tier 1 ride and two Tier 2 rides. Well, now, Test Track is a Tier 1 ride, which means you’ll have to choose to select that, Frozen Ever After, or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Soarin’ is now a Tier 2 ride, so you can preselect that plus another Tier 2 ride. Once you’ve scanned into the park and that first ride, though, you can start booking a new Lightning Lane for another ride. ©Disney Keep in mind that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a Lightning Lane Single Pass attraction, which is a separate purchase option for skipping the standby line. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Disney World hotel guests can choose rides ahead of their trip seven days in advance. Everyone else can choose rides three days in advance. If you’re visiting Disney World today or anytime after that, please keep these changes in mind and plan accordingly. Let’s ride Test Track! You also still have the option to stand in line and wait for the attraction. Please keep in mind that, while it’s brand new, we expect long lines as everyone gets a chance to ride the new version of Test Track for the first time. Test Track Also, keep an eye on the Single Rider Line. While it’s not always open, if you’re willing to split up your group to experience the attraction, you can enter this queue, which typically runs faster — you just won’t be sitting with your family. 11. We never want to hear bad news about cruise lines or cruise ships, but this certainly has been the year for some not-so-great news on board. ©Royal Caribbean At the end of June, a child fell overboard on the Disney Dream but was fortunately saved with no major injuries. What we’ve seen time and time again this year on other cruise lines, though, is outbreaks of sickness, and now, there’s ANOTHER one that’s just been reported. The last outbreak reported was aboard the Regent Seven Seas Cruises in May when norovirus spread across the ship. Now, that same fate has befallen Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas on its July 4th–July 11th sailing. ©Royal Caribbean The outbreak was reported on the final day on the cruise, July 11th, but the numbers are from the cruise as a whole. 134 of 3,914 passengers reported being sick, which is 3.4%. As for crew, 0.6% reported being sick, which is 7 of 1,266. The causative agent is unknown at this time, but the main symptoms were diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. ©Royal Caribbean In response to the outbreak, Royal Caribbean reported performing the following procedures to help mitigate the spread: Increased cleaning and disinfection procedures Collected stool specimens from gastrointestinal illness cases to test Isolated sick passengers and crew Consulted with VSP about the ship’s sanitation cleaning procedures and reporting ill cases Royal Caribbean Cruises If you’re traveling and want to do all you can to mitigate the chance of getting sick with norovirus, it’s important to know how it spreads. Unlike many contagious colds and flus, norovirus doesn’t spread via spit droplets primarily — instead it requires coming into contact with something contaminated with vomit or stool. We know, we know, sounds disgusting, but that could be something as simple as someone not washing their hands after using the restroom, then touching handrails, buffet utensils, or going into a pool (especially for children). Therefore, the easiest way to keep yourself healthy is to wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds before putting your hands anywhere near your eyes, mouth, or nose. 15. Disney Springs is full of different dining options — some of them are more on the generic side, while others are more adventurous. Salt & Straw Salt & Straw made its debut in Disney World in April 2022 after being a beloved offering in Disneyland since 2018. We got word that there were some new toppings available here, as well as a new flavor, so you know we headed over immediately to give them a try. As it turns out, we’re officially convinced that Salt & Straw can do NO wrong! Salt & Straw isn’t just any ice cream shop — they specialize in some of the most unique flavors you’ve ever heard of, and we’ll be the first to admit that sometimes we’ve been a little afraid to try them in the past! Recently, we stopped by to grab two new offerings, the first being a Single scoop of Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper Strawberry Shortcake Waffle Cone Bowl for $9.65 total (the waffle bowl was a $2.15 upgrade). Single scoop of Strawberry Honey Balsamic w/Black Pepper Strawberry Shortcake Waffle Cone Bowl They’ve taken freeze-dried strawberries and crunched them into this waffle batter, and it’s INCREDIBLE. The strawberry flavor is in both the ice cream and the cone is nice and light, perfect for summer. Due to the black pepper, the cone has a low heat to it that’s almost the same level as ground pepper, but we promise, it WORKS. We’d get it again for sure! We loved it! Second, we grabbed a Double scoop in a waffle cone of Birthday Cakes and Blackberries topped with Oregon Marionberry Coulis and Candied Cocoa Nibs for $13.90 (both toppings were $0.75 each). Double scoop in a waffle cone of Birthday Cakes and Blackberries topped with Oregon Marionberry Coulis and Candied Cocoa Nibs The ice cream itself was great, even though we were a little nervous how it would mix — it was that classic birthday cake flavor with blackberries that were very fresh. So much so that you could even taste the seeds popping in your mouth when you bit into them! Yum! As for the toppings, the Oregon Marionberry Coulis was more like a runny syrup, and had more of an elderberry flavor to it — it wasn’t super tart, but also wasn’t overly sweet. The Candied Cocoa Nibs tasted very similar to dark chocolate in a way. They were more on the bitter side and aren’t sweet at all, so you likely wouldn’t want to eat them alone. However, with the sweetness of the ice cream, they work really well! Again, we’d totally get it again, and can’t wait to try more toppings. More Recent Reviews! 16. Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re obviously obsessed with food, so we spot any new changes that involve snacks at our favorite places on Earth. Downtown Disney Over at Disneyland, two new food stands have been spotted at Downtown Disney, and we’re ready to try them out! First is this bright pink food truck called Cathy’s Cookies. Cathy’s Cookies ©Heather Sievers We don’t want to be dramatic, but they literally sell SO many cookies, and we didn’t know we wanted a bucket of cookies until we saw the menu. It’s so cute! ©Heather Sievers Some menu items include: Bucket of Cookies (36 fresh chocolate chip cookies) Sleeve of Cookies (12-15 fresh chocolate chip cookies) Cookie Sundae (2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with 5 fresh chocolate chip cookies) Bucket of Cookie Dough To Go (36 ready-to-bake frozen cookies) Empty Bucket Refill (refill your empty bucket with fresh-baked cookies) They even offer an 8-ounce carton of milk. We can’t think of anything better than milk and cookies. The menu ©Heather Sievers The second part is Layered Acai Bowls by Blue Bowl. Acai Bowls ©Heather Sievers The menu includes: Acai & Pitaya Acai & Mango Passion Acai & Matcha Acai & Blue Coconut Acai So fun! ©Heather Sievers We’re so excited to try both of these spots, and now we can’t stop thinking about chocolate chip cookies. Universal Orlando Annual Passholders get tons of perks, just like Disney World Annual Passholders do. ©Universal You get discounts on merchandise and dining options, special magnets, and for some passes, you even get free parking and Universal Express Passes after a certain hour in the park. If you’re a passholder, we’ve got great news — Universal just teased that there’s a hot new perk on the way! On their Instagram, Universal Orlando just teased that a new Universal Annual Passholder pin is on the way! We don’t know exactly what it’ll be just yet, but Universal used the term “Fan the Flames,” and said in their caption that “Things are heating up.” ©Universal It’s clear that the new button has something to do with fire, and considering the recent opening of Epic Universe, we’re wondering if it has something to do with dragons or How To Train Your Dragon! It’s also possible it could be Halloween Horror Nights themed, and we’ll see a lot of fire during this year’s event. Universal hasn’t shared any potential dates for this release, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more news. Isle of Berk Looking for more recent Universal Orlando news? Check out our posts below! 18. There are SO many amazing Disney cheeseburgers. Disney Springs From the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger to the new Wailulu Bar and Grill burger, we have strong opinions on beef and cheese. Now, there’s a new burger in Disney Springs that has us wondering if our rankings are about to change! Over in Disney Springs, you can find The Basket at Wine Bar George! This is a walk-up quick service where you can get drinks and bites from the delicious Wine Bar George restaurant without the hassle of a reservation. The Basket! During our recent stop by The Basket, we tried out the new Smash Burger for $15! It has two beef patties, cheese, burger sauce, and pickles. It also comes with a side of chips, either salt and vinegar or regular. The Smash Burger! You can order this one at the window, and you even get to watch the chef prepare it right in front of you. By the time ours was ready, we were basically drooling! Look at those patties go! We don’t want to overstate this but this guy was delicious! It was fresh off the grill and they toasted the buns to give it come extra flavor and texture. It doesn’t have any crazy toppings like you might expect on other smash burgers so the patties, cheese, and sauce really have to stand on their own. We need 10 of these ASAP! We absolutely devoured this burger! It was juicy, cheesy, and the burger sauces added the perfect amount of flavor and creaminess. We would compare the sauce to a Big Mac sauce but it tasted more fresh, making us wonder if they make it in house. The pickles were SO crisp and refreshing as well. A look at the inside! We were seriously blown away by this burger, and we can’t wait to have one again and again. It’s nothing crazy, nothing flashy, but it’s a classic smash burger that hits all the right notes. It’s important to note this burger is only available on Fridays from 11:30 AM until 3 PM on Fridays. We’re seriously hoping this one stays around longer than just this summer. So good! This is another amazing addition to our Disney World burger list, and it’s probably the easiest to obtain! 19. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Animal Kingdom We recently stopped by Tusker House for lunch at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Tusker House Restaurant is one of the best-kept secrets around when it comes to Disney dining and Character Meals in our opinion, and it’s stood the test of years of reviews from us. Tusker House The food here is flavorful and interesting, combining American and African-inspired cuisine, and the characters are among some of the most sought-after in all of the parks and hotel featuring Donald Duck, Mickey and friends (like Goofy and Daisy)… all dressed in their Safari best for Donald’s Dining Safari! Hey, Mickey! If you are looking for a fun character meal in a unique setting with terrific food for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I highly recommend this restaurant. So fun! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The food here is served buffet style which means you’ll have full reign of most of the items available to eat at your disposal. The pricing for adults for lunch here is $64 and children ages 3-9 are $42 plus tax and gratuities respectively. Buffet! If you’re wondering exactly what you’ll find on the menu here, let’s take a closer look together! You’ll start out with a few options as appetizers like Salads, Breads and Dips and entrees including House Specialties, plant-based offerings like North African Pilau, South African-spiced Cauliflower, Couscous Salad, Potato and Pea Curry, Carrot-Ginger Soup, and a few kid’s favorites like Meatballs, Macaroni & Cheese, Chicken Strips, Broccoli, Potatoes. ©Disney Don’t worry, you’ll have lots of sides to choose from and several desserts to curb your sweet tooth craving! @Disney Aside from the included buffet, you can also order a few specialty beverages… ©Disney …cocktails… ©Disney …wines… ©Disney …as well as Beer, Hard Cider, Hard Seltzer. Each of these will have their own individual pricing on top of your included options. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We headed to the buffet for our first plate and loaded it up with some of the breads, their respective sauces, as well as potatoes and corn. The corn was nice and sweet and the roasted potatoes reminded us of breakfast potatoes, but with no additional seasoning. The bread was also on the sweeter side, almost like a cornmeal style, and when we mixed it with the sauce, it made it even sweeter (even with the chimichurri sauce!). We also tried one of the sauceless meatballs, and while it was fine, it was nothing to write home about. Our first plate! As for the mac and cheese, it was INCREDIBLE! It was slightly baked on top, incredibly cheesy, and we’d recommend this in a heartbeat. This mac and cheese is AMAZING For our second plate, we grabbed some more of the meat offerings, rice, couscous, and more. The Couscous was fine, but it reminded us of grits in the way that there’s that nosiness to it — there’s no butter, so it wasn’t bad, but not our speed. The Tandoori Chicken was perfectly cooked and had the perfect amount of spice behind it thanks to the cumin (but it wasn’t too spicy), but the Red Red was just okay to us. It was more spice than heat, and we were just expecting more from it. Our second plate! Finally, it was time for dessert! The Hummingbird Cake was light and fluffy with a great slight carrot-taste to it, and the cream cheese spread was delightful. The Pot de Creme was fruity with something similar to a cherry glaze with something akin to caramel that you break through. It overall wasn’t our favorite, but if you love fruity flavors, you may want to give it a try. Tons of desserts! The Pineapple Cupcake was like pineapple Dole Whip in cupcake form, which we adored, and the Passionfruit Cheesecake was easily one of our favorites with its fruits on top. The African Blondie wasn’t exactly what we were expecting as it has chocolate chips and raisins on the inside, but it wasn’t bad. Finally, the Guava treat had a great coconut base to it and the mousse was super thin and light, which we loved. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a fantastic character meal You want a meal that has a great mix of ideal options for picky and adventurous eaters You love buffet style meals that are ACTUALLY worth the cost You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a quick meal You’re not a fan of buffets You don’t like character meals. Overall Overall, we think this is a fantastic meal for those who enjoy buffets or are looking for a great Disney World buffet that won’t make you feel like you wasted your money, or you want a great character meal to remember for years to come. The interactions with the characters here are fantastic, and we adore that there are lots of options for a range of eaters. We’re big fans of this spot! 20. Delta Air Lines is adding a new type of ticket! ©Getty Images The airline is working on breaking up its existing premium cabins at the front of its airplanes! This new addition will further segment the planes, inevitably costing customers more without guaranteeing new additions to the cabins. According to CNBC, Delta Air Lines is studying a new type of airplane ticket. This new ticket will be for premium seating at the front of the planes, which we expect to cost travelers booking those tickets more. The airline has been at the forefront of splitting coach cabins to add extra leg room, upgrading basic seats, adding seat assignments, and more. ©Getty Images In regards to the change, Delta President Glen Hauenstein said, “Premium has certainly been where our margins have continued to expand, and so we’re highly focused on continuing to provide improved service to those customers and more segmentation.” He noted that these new changes will mirror what has been done in the main cabin “because different people have different needs.” ©Getty Images The airline’s revenue from its current premium seat offerings rose 6% in the first half of 2025; however, the main economy tickets dropped 4%. The company noted during their most recent earnings call that the premium seats and loyalty program have been growing for years. Hausenstein declined to answer if there would be possible changes coming to the premium seats within the cabins. Delta also didn’t share if they would consider a more inexpensive first or business class ticket. ©Delta The company is testing these possibilities and new tickets as well as surveying people traveling with the airline. “We haven’t rolled it out yet, not because we don’t have the technological capability, but we want to make sure that customers understand what we’re putting in market and that they find value in it,” Hausenstein said. When discussing if Delta might offer a cheaper ticket option, Henry Harteveldt, travel consultant and president of Atmosphere Research Group, said, “Airplanes are expensive … and it’s a lot easier when you give your passengers a reason to pay you more for your product than to pay you less.” ©Delta In regard to upgrading the high-end seats on the planes, Delta CEO Ed Bastian said, “The premium products have had life cycles … and what we thought was state of the art six or seven years ago no longer is… We’re continuing to upgrade and update it. So that’s part of the cost of business.” He also reiterated that their current products are “very, very nice.” ©CNBC We are eager to see if these new tickets cost more for the same amenities. It can often feel like these “upgrades” are what is leading to the rising cost of flights, but we are wondering if the industry is getting close to admitting it just costs more to fly right now. 21. Somehow, we doubt these guests will be heading back to Disneyland’s hotels anytime soon. The DVC tower at Disneyland Hotel Walt Disney World is well-known for its vast array of on-property hotels. However, its west coast counterpart, the Disneyland Resort, doesn’t have nearly the same renown amounts many Disney fans, despite being home to the very first official Disney-themed hotel. While we’re generally fans of Disneyland’s hotels – the aforementioned original Disneyland Hotel, the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and the Pixar Place Hotel – the same can’t be said for everyone. In fact, we’ve come across several instances of negative experiences at some of the “Happiest Place on Earth’s” accommodations. First up, an anonymous reviewer left a bit of a scathing take with our friends over at AllEars. According to this guest, “If you remove the emotion and just look at the facility, the Disneyland Hotel is mediocre at best.” They continued that “There are much nicer/more modern hotels close by for much less money. While the grounds are very nice the hotel itself is dated and in need of replacement.” While this doesn’t detail a specific incident, it does given an overall negative impression of the hotel. Disneyland Hotel Moving on, a TripAdvisor reviewer going by amimtravel left an account of a disturbing alleged June 2025 incident at the Disneyland Hotel as part of a negative review. They wrote, “Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This hotel has gone downhill in (the) last years. We are a family of four with young kids. We just stayed there, and had a stranger open the door to our room, on two different occasions (7:30 AM and 3:00 PM, while we were in the room. When we reported it, the hotel said it was security, but no one knocked, nor identified themselves as security. My husband tried to go after the person and they disappeared down the stairs. We believe it was an outside contractor as the hotel had a pipe burst, and unfortunately were given a room in the area that is being restored from the water leak. There are contractors everywhere. The halls have no A/c, it feels like a sauna walking through the halls. The elevators are out of service as well. You have to walk to other end of hotel to use the elevator. When we called to report the security breach, we were given to Jasmine, and she said they would look into who kept entering the room but we never heard back. We did not feel safe during our stay. This issue was serious and management kept dismissing it.” They wrapped their review with, “Overall, The staff is not friendly, everyone seems burned out. The pool area was dirty and gross. The room itself is old, and dated. During check out no one asked how are stay was. This hotel is missing the Disney touch. The only friendly person at the hotel was the man that brought our room service. He was great!” Disneyland Hotel Another TripAdvisor reviewer, Kathleen S., recounted a much less disturbing but still vacation-damaging story during a Spring 2025 stay. According to their review, a “loud live band in Downtown Disney will ruin your sleep.” They claim that during their stay, live bands played late at night, past 10:00 PM. They called the layout, “Really bad design and they did not think about hotel guests at all.” Downtown Disney Moving over to the Grand Californian, LucilleSoho had a negative experience regarding renovations at the Resort & Spa. According to their TripAdvisor review, “Our recent stay at the Grand Californian (March 21st–24th) was deeply disappointing due to unexpected renovations and a lack of transparency. Upon arrival, we found that the only pool with a slide was closed—something our children had been looking forward to, but we weren’t informed beforehand. Dining was equally frustrating: Hearthstone Lounge had no children’s menu due to kitchen renovations, and Craftsman Bar’s stove was broken, leaving only a poke bowl and chips and salsa as meal options. At one point, we had to resort to ordering Domino’s—hardly what you expect from a luxury Disney resort. Even room service was severely limited, offering only cold breakfast items and a microwaved cup of oatmeal. To top it off, a glass of wine at Hearthstone Lounge was served in a plastic cup due to a glassware shortage. Disney is known for its high standards, but this experience did not reflect that. Had we been informed in advance, we could have planned accordingly, rather than paying a premium price for a subpar experience. Future guests deserve better transparency about ongoing renovations.” Grand California Hotel The third hotel at the Disneyland Resort, Pixar Place, was not spared from reviews of negative experiences. Just Us wrote on TripAdvisor: “Do not stay at this Disney property! The elevators do not work – they use a call system that doesn’t work and normal operations are a nightmare but in addition two of the four elevators were out of service. You can’t take the stairs because they lock the doors going up. This causes a giant queue and an incredible waste of time on your vacation.” Pixar Place Hotel As always, these are a selection of negative experiences shared by guests and don’t reflect the experiences of all of those who’ve stayed at the Disneyland Resort’s hotels in recent months. 22. If I’m going to Disney World’s All-Star Resorts, it’s probably against my will. All-Star Music Alright, that may be a slight exaggeration, but when I say that these hotels aren’t anywhere near the top of my list (and probably not at the top of many people’s lists!), that’s quite true. All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports may be the cheapest of the Disney World resorts, but sometimes that means dealing with some super cringey things when you stay there! Lots of Large Groups (Especially Cheerleaders!) Since these are the cheapest of the Disney World hotels, we see a LOT of groups staying here, especially during cheer and dance competition season. In fact, whenever there’s a large convention or competition at Disney World for teens, these resorts will fill up quickly. Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort This can make it difficult to actually snag a room at these resorts, but if you’re already there, it can mean that the pools, lobby, and dining hall are all crowded during your visit. And in the case of cheer squads and dance teams, we’ve often seen them out practicing on the lawns during the day — that may wreak havoc on your midday nap schedule! All-Star Music entrance The good news is that these hotels aren’t usually packed with groups all year round! You can look at cheer and dance competition schedules for the Central Florida area online, and you can often find calendars that list other major high school-age events — that way, you can avoid staying here during those times. Buses, Buses, and MORE Buses If you’re planning to stay at the All-Stars, one important thing you need to know before booking is the transportation situation. Here, you won’t have access to boats, the Monorail, or the Disney Skyliner…it’s ALL Disney buses, all the time. Disney bus Yep, the only complimentary transportation method to and from these hotels is the Disney bus, and that’s a deal-breaker for some people. However, this can be a good thing! It means that you won’t be subject to weather-related transportation shutdowns. And in general, Disney buses are fairly reliable — they come frequently and often come on schedule. The Disney World bus system is vast and easy to use for the most part! WAY Too Much Time Spent on Those Buses Continuing on the subject of buses, you’ll be spending quite a bit of time on them! Why? Because the All-Star Resorts are far from…well, pretty much everything. They’re located at one of the furthest points on Disney property, and that means your ride to the parks (and especially to Disney Springs, which is on the opposite side of Disney World) can be VERY long. Bus stop at All-Star Movies This can be even worse during the slower times of the day, because then Disney will often group stops together. If you try to go back to your hotel midday, you may find that you’re on a bus that stops at all THREE All-Star Resorts, and that can be tedious if your hotel is the last stop. All-Star bus stop So what’s the upside here? Well, you’re in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area, so you’re still closer to that park (and subsequently Blizzard Beach!) than most hotels around Disney World. Also, the All-Stars are the closest to the Disney World McDonald’s location. So if you’re in the mood for a late-night snack on the drive back to your resort, you can take your car through the drive-thru. Adding Even More to Your Step Count Another potential downside to staying at the All-Stars is that the property is fairly spread out. Some of the hotel rooms are a decent distance from the lobby, and with the bus stop at the front of the resort, the walk can be laborious at the end of a long day in the parks. Standard Room If this is a problem for you, the good news is that you can pay slightly more to upgrade to a Preferred Room — it’ll get you a better view and closer to the lobby and bus stop. That can be a real lifesaver if you’re planning some long days in the parks! Pretty “Meh” Food The final cringey thing we have to mention about the All-Stars is the food situation. Each of these hotels only offers a giant food court-style dining spot for meals, in addition to a small pool bar at the main pools. Unfortunately, this means your dining options are limited and sometimes pretty basic. World Premiere Food Court On a positive note, this means that the food at these spots tends to be fairly crowd-pleasing. Everyone in your group should be able to find something that caters to them! They’ll have everything from burgers and comfort food to some simple international dishes. And if none of that is up your alley, the food courts have substantial grab-and-go sections with sandwiches, prepackaged snacks, salads, and more. All-Star Sports Food Court So as you can see, the All-Stars may not be for everyone, but they’re definitely the perfect choice for some people!
