Buckle up if you’re heading to Walt Disney World in November. From seasonal events to massive attraction changes, the month is set to be a game-changer for the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Oh, and here’s the first thing you need to know — it’s Christmas in Disney World! Yes, we know you haven’t even bought your Thanksgiving turkey yet, but if you’re headed to Disney World, be prepared for red and green wreaths on Main Street, U.S.A. and the giant tree in your hotel lobby (at least by the middle of the month). Christmas Decorations in Magic Kingdom I’ve been covering Disney World for 7+ years, and I can remember few years with quite a much change as 2025. There have been construction announcements, permanent closures, and the transformation of classic rides — all of which will continue in November. Zootopia: Better Zoogether Opening November 7th will see the opening of Zootopia: Better Zoogether in Animal Kingdom. ©Disney Replacing opening day staple It’s Tough to Be a Bug (which closed earlier this year) inside the Tree of Life, this new 3D film is set to bring guests into the popular film series through Zoogether Day, which celebrates “unity amongst the diverse biomes across the city” and features “special performances such as ice-skating spectaculars from the heart of Tundratown! Synchronized swimming direct from Marsh Market! Tiny mouse drone shows soaring over Little Rodentia! And of course, a musical finale by superstar Gazelle – all of which we’ll see from the livestream watch party.” The new attraction will mark a major step in the on-going transformation of Animal Kingdom. ©Disney Very Merry 2025 One of Walt Disney World’s most beloved holiday institutions — Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — is set to make its 2025 debut on November 7th. ©Disney This year’s edition of the party will feature returning favorites including Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, characters in their Christmas best, and even snow (AKA snoap) on Main Street. It continues on these select dates: November: 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 26th, 28th, and 30th December: 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th, and 21st Club Tinsel at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Remember that you’ll need a separate ticket for Magic Kingdom’s Christmas Party, and we are starting to see dates sell out. So if you’re wanting to go, it’s best to make your plans soon. And if you’re not going to the party but planning a trip to Magic Kingdom — know that the park will close at 6 PM on those party days and plan accordingly! Jollywood Nights Speaking of events that require a separate ticket…Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios starts on November 8th this year. Ollie Ears! Jollywood Nights also runs November 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, and 29th, as well as December 1st, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th and 22nd. The event will feature holiday entertainment, including the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! fireworks and projections spectacular, a live holiday special hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, and a Nightmare Before Christmas sing-a-long hosted by Jack Skellington. Jollywood Nights Ratatouille Reopening EPCOT’s popular ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is set to close for three days on November 10th, and then reopen with a whole new look… literally. Ratatouille Remy’s Adventure When the ride reopens on the 13th, the experience will have been converted from a 3D experience to an enhanced 2D experience, meaning NO MORE PAINFUL GLASSES! According to Disney, further props and lightning effects will be added over the coming months. Game-changing indeed. No more 3D Let the Holiday Festivities Begin Finally, just before the month ends, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will begin! 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays To many, the day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday, but for Disney fans, this November 28th marks the launch of EPCOT’s Holiday celebration. Running until December 30th, the festival features global holiday celebrations, foods, treats, and of course EPCOT’s iconic Candlelight Processional — a retelling of the Biblical story of Christmas with a choir, orchestra and celebrity narrator. Glimmering Greenhouses The DFB Team will be at EPCOT bright and early on November 28th to bring you all the food, drinks, merchandise and entertainment of this festival! Watch for all of our coverage! In the meantime, you can check out our festival video from last year to get into the spirit! November 2025 is set to be a huge month for Walt Disney World, setting the stage for the year ahead. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news! Get ready, you are about to be singing “it’s a small world after all, it’s a small world after all” ALL day long, because we have a reminder for you about this popular attraction! Also, bonus points for you if you sang the song while reading that last sentence. “it’s a small world” Holiday Overlay We look forward to the “it’s a small world” holiday transformation each and every year, and we are getting closer to the big reveal! This classic attraction will be adorned with shimmering lights and whimsical decor for the holiday season at Disneyland Resort. However, to be ready for the Holidays at Disneyland Resort starting on November 14th, 2025, the attraction will need to close for a bit. That is why we are here to remind you! The “it’s a small world” attraction will be closed at Disneyland Park starting October 30th, 2025. It will only be closed for about two weeks, though, and it will reopen in time for the Holidays at Disneyland Resort starting November 14th, 2025. “it’s a small world” Holiday We always love singing along and sailing on “the happiest cruise that ever sailed,” but the sailing during the holiday overlay is truly spectacular to see. It really takes this attraction up a notch, and we can’t wait to see it again this year. The façade of “it’s a small world” is adorned with thousands of shimmering lights, and throughout your journey on the attraction, you will spot whimsical decor, enjoy jubilant regional adornments, and hear traditional holiday tunes. “it’s a small world” holiday overlay The holiday overlay will be on “it’s a small world” from November 14th, 2025, until January 7th, 2026. If you are heading to Disneyland for the holiday season, we think this attraction is a must-do! Just a fair warning that the song will likely be stuck in your head all day long. Also, be sure to take a look at the attraction at night as the façade is stunning! it’s a small world Holiday Want help planning your Disneyland vacation? Several years ago, a brand new theme park – designed by Disney Imagineering veterans was announced to be coming to Oklahoma longtime theme park fans like myself were intrigued by the prospect, if a bit confused at the location, theme, and financials behind the park. ©American Heartland Turns out, we were right to be skeptical of this $2 billion theme park, as the project turned from blue sky to boondoggle, ending in nothing but lawsuits. As initially announced, the theme park was to be called American Heartland and would have been located in northeast Oklahoma in Vinita. Based on initial renderings, the resort was to span 1,000 acres and include a 125-acre theme park roughly the size of Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, a water park, a large RV park with cabins, a dinner theatre, an amphitheater, a swimming pool, a clubhouse, and more. ©American Heartland The park’s announced development team included over a dozen former Disney employees with experience in special effects, technical design, entertainment, and more. ©American Heartland The park which was expected to include six themed Americana lands: Liberty Village, Great Plains, Bayou Bay, Bit Timber Falls, Stony Point Harbor, and Electropolis, was intially slated to open in the fall of 2026. Meanwhile, the Three Ponies RV and Campground, which was to consist of an estimated 750 RV spaces and 300 cabins, was expected to open the year prior in 2025. ©American Heartland Unfortunately, before construction had truly even began (outside of a chainlink fence) was halted due to financial issues. During development, the project’s budget had increased from $2 billion to $2.5 billion, which was about $500 million more than the original estimate. This led to accusations that the developer, Mansion Entertainment, had fallen behind in paying the bills during the planned construction phase of the theme park. ©American Heartland The issue came to a head in the summer of 2025, when O. Gene Bicknell, a 91-year-old former pizza chain owner who have invested in the project filed a massive lawsuit. According to reports, the suit alleged that American Heartland officials, Richard Silanskas, Larry Wilhite, and Stephen Hedrick, worked together to defraud Bicknell out of over $60 million in investments. According to Bicknell’s lawyers, the American Heartland trio “operated a criminal enterprise that defrauded Bicknell and duped him into sinking his remaining fortune” and that they had “executed a predatory conspiracy of psychological manipulation — convincing Bicknell, through fraud and impersonation, that God himself was commanding him to invest in the theme park.” ©American Heartland The lawsuit seeks to hold Silanskas and Wilhite accountable for their alleged actions through a jury trial and compensatory damages. Stay tuned for DFB for more updates on this ongoing litigation. 4 Critical Changes We Hope Disney World Makes in 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Okay, so Disney is always working on bring new movies to theaters, because, well, that’s what Disney does! ©Disney That’s also how the movie business rolls, and Disney is always announcing new projects, even with certain actors already attached, although not every project actually makes its way to the red carpet. Making movies is HARD, y’all. But we wanted to look at every movie Disney has teased recently, just to give you an idea of what may be in the works. A Very Jonas Christmas Movie Yep, the Jonas Brothers are getting a new movie. A Very Jonas Christmas Movie will follow Nick, Kevin, and Joe as they try to get from London to New York in time to spend the holiday with their families. Of course, they have to do so while encountering “a series of escalating obstacles.” Sounds like fun! ©Disney The movie will feature a LOT of cameos, and you can see it SOON because it will premiere on Disney+ on November 14th. Simpsons 2 Believe it or not, Disney has replaced an upcoming Marvel project with a Simpsons movie (okay, we don’t know it replaced the Marvel movie, but it did take over an untitled Marvel movie’s release date). Disney teased a new Simpsons movie release with a poster that stated, “Homer’s coming back for seconds.” ©20th Century Studios The first Simpsons movie was made way back in 2007, and it MADE BANK at the box office, earning $536 million at the global box office with just a $75 million budget. The new film will premiere a decade later, in 2027. Camp Rock 3 We’re not done with the Jonas Brothers just yet because they’ll also be appearing in Camp Rock 3. Yes, we’re finally getting a third installment of the Camp Rock movies, and yes, it’s officially in development. Demi Lovato is even returning as the executive producer. SWEET. ©Disney The new movie will pick up where “Connect 3 ” left off, when the band loses their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to ride over the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances.” Hexed In August, Disney announced a brand new animated film called Hexed, which is set to release in fall 2026. From what we can tell, this movie is in development now, but Disney hasn’t released a lot of details about it. Hexed Disney described the film: “Hexed is an all-new original film that follows a teenage oddball and his mom, who discover his weirdness is actually hidden magic, transporting them to a world where magic can run free.” Tangled Live-Action Film It’s on, then it’s off. Such goes with the status of the live-action Tangled movie. Well, now, the movie is BACK in development at Disney and Scarlett Johansson is “circling the role of Mother Gothel.” Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder Michael Gracey, the director of The Greatest Showman, is still attached as director of the project. He is reportedly working from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Impossible Creatures Disney has acquired the rights to the “Impossible Creatures” YA fantasy book series, with author Katherine Rundell adapting the first two books into screenplays. The book series follows a boy, Christopher, as he learns about a place where magical creatures have thrived after thousands of years. He teams up with some friends to go on an adventure in that place to find out why magic is fading and these creatures are dying. ©Amazon Sounds right up Disney’s alley, right? Now, this film hasn’t started filming yet, and nothing is ever set in stone until it gets a release date, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for more details. New Alien Film Okay, there’s NO doubt there’s going to be a new Alien movie, right? The last film, Alien: Romulus, did pretty well with the box office and critics, and the new TV series, Alien: Earth, has a lot of folks talking. Well, according to People, some of these people talking include Sigourney Weaver and Disney about bringing her back as Ripley for a new movie. Yes, PLEASE! ©Disney Series producer/writer Walter Hill has even written a script. Weaver said, “So I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but I have had a meeting with Fox, Disney, or whoever it is now. I have never felt the need [to reprise the role.] I was always like, ‘Let her rest, let her recover.’ But what Walter has written seems, first of all, so true to me. It’s very much about the society that would incarcerate someone who has tried to help mankind, but she’s a problem to them, so she’s sort of tucked away.” Prince Charming movie A year ago, Deadline reported that Chris Hemsworth was in talks to star in a new Prince Charming Movie, with Paul King on board to direct. Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker are reportedly co-writing the film with King, and it’s reportedly in development. ©Disney Here’s the thing, though. We haven’t heard anything about this movie since then. Insiders have said that the movie might not specifically be linked to Cinderella, though. So that’s intriguing, huh? The Hunt for Ben Solo So Star Wars fans have been chomping at the bit after Variety reported that a movie called The Hunt for Ben Solo was canceled in 2021. The movie was to follow The Rise of Skywalker, indicating that Kylo Ren (aka Ben Solo) may have actually survived the events of The Rise of Skywalker. Let’s just say that Star Wars fans are pretty demanding and have gone to great lengths, including paying for a plane to fly a banner reading “Save the Hunt for Ben Solo” over Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. No, REALLY. ©Disney Well, Collider reported that Star Wars fans also paid for a billboard in New York reading “For Adam. No one’s ever really gone. Hope lives. Ben is alive! #THBS.” You paying attention, Disney? Who knows what might become of it? But a lot of people are talking about this film right now. We’ll have to keep an eye on this list to see if Disney gives us any updates on these projects. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for more. Listen, we LOVE piña coladas around here, but getting caught in the rain? It’s not our favorite thing — especially when we’re at Disney World. Sometimes, though, no matter how hard you plan, a torrential afternoon downpour throws a wrench into things. Rainy day in Hollywood Studios Sure, you could buy one of those overpriced, plastic, hot ponchos they sell at Disney World. But, no, you were smart. You planned ahead. You read the Disney Food Blog, so you know exactly how to be prepared. That’s why you brought along this $13 reusable poncho that’s a total game-changer for Disney World. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the Frogg Toggs poncho on Amazon now! Frogg Toggs Poncho There’s a reason we can’t shut up about this reusable Frogg Toggs Poncho! Our lives were truly changed when we started bringing this bad boy to the parks with us. It’s made of an extremely lightweight, waterproof, breathable, and wind-resistant fabric. We love that it features a hood with drawstrings so you can close it as tightly as you want — something you don’t get with disposable ponchos! Frogg Toggs Poncho This poncho works objectively well at keeping you dry on a rainy day — or even on a water ride like Kali River Rapids or Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. It also comes with a reusable carrying pouch and easily folds up to fit inside. This comes in handy when you take off the wet poncho and don’t want to put it directly into your park bag! Frogg Toggs Poncho Unlike other ponchos, this one doesn’t cling to your skin like plastic wrap, and we appreciate that it has actual sleeves for your arms as opposed to the more traditional, open sleeve poncho designs you might be used to. We talk about this thing all the time because we love it so much, and it will seriously come in handy on your next Disney World trip! The Frogg Toggs Poncho comes in multiple colors as well, and its affordable price means you can get one for the whole family! If you’re looking for some great food in Disney Springs, well, you have a LOT of choices…like a LOT. If you’re looking for good barbecue, though, look no further than The Polite Pig, which is the kind of restaurant where you can live out a lot of your carnivore dreams. However, you may be wondering about the Chef’s Specials there…are they worth ordering? Seared Pork Loin Chop Well, we visited The Polite Pig recently to check out this month’s Chef’s Special, and we’re here to give you our honest review. So let’s dive into some food! This month’s Chef’s Special at The Polite Pig is the Seared Pork Loin Chop with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, and peas with a bourbon honey BBQ sauce for $23. We’re going to start out with the fact that we generally love the regular menu at The Polite Pig, but the Chef’s Specials don’t always wow us, and this one is more of the same. It just feels like something we could make at home for dinner, and not something you’d pay over $20 for in a restaurant. There it is. You do get a pretty decent-sized piece of meat, but it is VERY fatty, which keeps it from being dry, but that could turn some folks off. That also made this chop pretty tough, though, in that it was hard to cut and involved a LOT of chewing. The sauce is more like a glaze on top, and we think we would have preferred more. We also would’ve preferred that the veggies were in the sauce, too. You do taste that hint of bourbon flavor, but it’s mostly a honey barbecue flavor. The pork The vegetables are nice, except for the potatoes, which were cooked inconsistently. Some of the potatoes were soft and tender with a nice char, while others were almost a little undercooked. The mushrooms are a little better, but there is still some inconsistency in how they’re cooked, although they’re chewy and add an earthy flavor. We also appreciated that they were cooked enough that they didn’t have that slimy texture that can be off-putting. The peas…are peas. Overall, the vegetables are well seasoned, so we will say that. Veggies Overall, we don’t think we’d order this again. Instead, we’d just stick with the regular menu, which is always consistently good here. Stay tuned to DFB for more. There’s nothing like planning a trip to Disney World, only to get there and realize that you – and thousands of other people – have picked the wrong time to visit. Magic Kingdom We’ve been there, staring down Main Street, U.S.A. while the hordes make their way to Cinderella Castle like something out of The Walking Dead, all because it’s a special holiday weekend, or there’s a runDisney event, or something else that’s brought people to the parks. Or maybe you just want to know when special events are happening in Disney World. Well, we’ve got you covered because we’re going to give you every single date you need to know for Disney World in 2026. Before we get started, you should know that we have done the homework for you, and we’ve got a calendar of special events in Disney World you can download! Drop us your email and sign up at the link below! September The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is still going strong in September, but crowds do tend to wind down a little bit once kids are back in school. The weather can still be hot, though, so plan ahead! September 5th-7th Labor Day weekend is the last big hurrah for summer, and a lot of folks like to spend it in Disney World. This means long lines and crowds. September 10th EPCOT will have another Moonlight Magic event for DVC members on September 10th. November November kicks off the holiday season in Disney World, and you’ll see holiday decorations up in the parks as early as November 1st. The weather can be almost pleasant this time of year. Sometimes. November-December As we mentioned, the holiday season kicks off in Disney World in November and runs through December 31st. That means you’ll have a chance to see Santa, as well as buy tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights. The EPCOT Festival of Holidays also kicks off the day after Thanksgiving and runs through December. So that’s more food booths, lots of holiday fun, the iconic Candlelight Processional, and more! Josh Gad narrating the 2024 Candlelight Processional However, the best part may be all the wonderful holiday decor you’ll find in the parks, at the hotels, and in Disney Springs. The hotels also display their gingerbread creations for all to see — and believe us, those displays are PHENOMENAL. November 26th-29th Another super busy time of the year in Disney World is Thanksgiving weekend. This could be one of the most crowded days in the parks, so expect to deal with a lot of crowds and lines. If you’ll be spending Thanksgiving Day in Disney World, though, you’ll find plenty of restaurants with special Thanksgiving Day meals. December The holiday season is in full swing come December, and the temperatures are generally comfortable. The first of the month isn’t too bad, but as we get closer to Christmas, the crowds start making their way to the parks. December 25th Who doesn’t want to spend Christmas in Magic Kingdom? Well, it turns out that EVERYONE wants that, so you’ll find Magic Kingdom OVERLOADED with folks who want to feel that magical holiday cheer. However, the other parks can be crowded on Christmas Day, too. December 31st Magic Kingdom and EPCOT will also be VERY crowded on New Year’s Eve. EPCOT hosts a variety of dance zones and parties across World Showcase, as well as a special nighttime show, while you can count down to the New Year with fireworks in Magic Kingdom. But you’ll be doing it with a LOT of other people. New Year’s 2025 Fireworks crowds TBA There are some things we know are going to happen in 2026, but we don’t have exact dates for. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Room Refurbishment Disney has confirmed that it will be refurbishing rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort throughout 2026. We don’t yet have exact dates, but we’ll let you know when Disney releases that information. The Walt Disney Studios grand opening Animation Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios (and yes, it’s becoming almost a throwback to what this area originally was when Hollywood Studios was a REAL working TV and movie studio). ©Disney The area will feature an interactive space themed around Disney animation called The Magic of Disney Animation, character meet and greets, an Alice in Wonderland playground, and more. It’s supposed to open sometime in 2026. Grand Floridian lobby completion Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is getting a brand new lobby, and it’s supposed to be completed in 2026. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopening Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed since early January 2025 for a massive upgrade. The ride is getting a new track, new scenes, and a new exterior that will help it blend in with the new Cars expansion being built nearby. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reopen in 2026. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopening Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom also recently closed for a huge upgrade. The ride will be getting new vehicles, a new scene, plus some more improvements. It’s expected to reopen in 2026. ©Disney Knowing when to go to Disney World is part of the planning process, so if you can, choose your dates carefully so you can have the BEST trip possible. Disney’s been on a roll lately with announcing loads of ride changes and refurbishments on the way. While many Disney guests enjoy these announcements and look forward to the new updates, that sentiment isn’t shared by all. Hey, we get it! While we’re usually excited about something new, that doesn’t mean we aren’t sad about what we’re losing. Soarin’ Around the World One of Disney’s most recent announcements was that the current version of Soarin’ in both Disney World and Disneyland will be replaced with a new version of the ride called Soarin’ Across America. This new version will fly you over iconic sights all around the United States, instead of all over the world like the current edition does. While some fans are looking forward to this, we can’t ignore the fact that some others are bringing up a really good point — will this new version be as beloved as its predecessor? When we shared Disney’s announcement about the impending Soarin’ Across America change on social media, y’all did not hold back on your thoughts. One of our readers, Paul Atwell, left a comment that really struck us. It was simple, but its message was clear. He said, “Why ruin another ride?” Soarin’ Around the World Now, the beautiful part about Disney is that everyone has different experiences and opinions on what they’d like to do on their vacations. There’s no right or wrong way to do it, just tips and tricks to make doing all you’d like to do easier. Soarin’ has been a moderately popular ride for many, many years, but this isn’t the first edition of the ride. Over in Disney California Adventure, Soarin’ Over California was an opening-day attraction on February 8th, 2001, and the same ride was copied and pasted into EPCOT as Soarin’ on May 5th, 2005. Soarin’ Over California at Disney California Adventure The attractions in both Disneyland and Disney World changed to Soarin’ Around the World on June 17th, 2016, and while Disneyland sometimes reverts back to showing Soarin’ Over California at certain times of year, you’ll mostly find the version that takes you all around the world. So what does that all mean? Well, this isn’t the first time that this attraction has changed, and back then, too, not everyone was a fan of the change. In response to Paul’s comment, another one of our readers, Jennifer Walter Lanham, said, “They already did that when they changed to the film they currently show.” The Land Discourse around the changing of Disney rides isn’t new, but there’s another aspect of this change that has us a little concerned. 2026 is going to be a MASSIVE year for changes in the Disney World parks, and this change marks another potential closure that could affect guests. Already in 2026, two entire lands will be closed for reimagining in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Walt Disney Studios, taking the place of Animation Courtyard should be opening IN 2026 though), Dinoland, U.S.A. will be fully closed by early February 2026 to make way for Tropical Americas, and Magic Kingdom will be practically covered in construction walls thanks to the new Piston Peak and Villains Lands, not to mention the construction on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (both of which should be opening in 2026, but no set timeline has been announced). Soarin’ Around the World Seating Now, we do say potential closure because, as Soarin’ is a screen-based attraction, it’s possible that the majority of the work and testing can be done at night after the park has closed to guests. We’ll have to wait and see to be sure, but if this attraction does close, we could see lots of Disney guests irked, even if they aren’t opposed to the new version of the ride. The Land is where you’ll find Soarin’ in EPCOT For those of you who are already mourning the loss to come, we get it. Soarin’ Around the World is beyond gorgeous, and allows you to see some parts of the world you may never be able to travel to yourself. However, as we’ve seen Soarin’ Over California return to both parks previously, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Soarin’ Around the World return to the parks for special events or select times of year. It will rarely be EVERY year, but hey, we’ll take what we can get! Soarin’ Over California We know the Soarin’ Across America will arrive in both parks in Summer 2026, but that’s all we’ve got on the timeline right now. We’ll be sure to be on the lookout for all the latest to keep you in the know! Now you tell us — what are your thoughts on the new Soarin’ version? Excited? Sad? Listen up, travelers. If you’re planning on flying in 2026, there are some rule changes you need to know, especially if you haven’t flown in a while! From policy changes on one of the country’s biggest airlines to shifting government regulations, there are things to be aware of. Southwest Airlines In the 7+ years that I’ve been covering the travel industry, I’ve seen a lot of changes to the way we fly. However, the major changes coming to one of America’s most popular carriers next year just might take the cake and be most surprising to travelers flying for the first time in a while in 2026. Let’s begin with THREE major changes coming to Southwest Airlines. No More Free Bags In 2025, Southwest ended its longtime “Bags Fly for Free Policy”, and the airline is now charging for checked bags on Basic, Choice, and Choice Preferred fares. Baggage claim at MCO! However, there are some exceptions: Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Getaways by Southwest customers will receive two free checked bags. A-List Members and Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers will receive only their first checked bag for free. Hawaii residents traveling between the islands will continue to receive two free checked bags. Of note, these checked bag benefits will not apply on flights booked with a partner carrier (like Icelandair or China Airlines). Assigned Seats Southwest will also begin using assigned seating as of January 27th, 2026. Fares will include new seat options to choose from: Standard, Preferred, and Extra Legroom. ©Southwest Airlines The airline will also be updating its boarding process with the introduction of assigned seating. The current A/B/C groups with numbered positions will be transitioned to a new boarding structure using numbered groups ranging from 1 through 8. Customer of Size Policy In conjunction with the new seating rules, Southwest is updating its “Customer of Size” policy. Previously, the airline allowed customers to buy a single seat and discuss their seating needs with a gate agent ahead of departure. If it was determined that a second or third seat was needed, the airline would accommodate them with a complimentary additional seat the day of travel. ©Southwest Airlines That will change on January 27th, 2026. From then on, Southwest says “Customers who encroach upon the neighboring seat(s) should proactively purchase the needed number of seats prior to travel to ensure the additional seat is available,” adding that it will refund the extra seat purchase if requested when travel is complete. Southwest Planes at Orlando International Airport Southwest says if the flight is sold out or adjacent seats aren’t available, they will rebook you on an alternate flight. If you need this accommodation, we suggest buying a second seat when you make your reservation so you don’t have to take a different flight. Government Enforcement Moving beyond Southwest Airlines, travelers should also note that the U.S. government has paused enforcement of some provisions of the Ensuring Safe Accommodations for Air Travelers With Disabilities Using Wheelchairs Act. Orlando International Airport The Department of Transportation says it is looking into potential changes to some provisions of the act. This shouldn’t really affect you in the airport, as the rules being looked into are mostly changes that haven’t happened yet, including clarifying the airlines’ liability for damaged wheelchairs, and annual training for airline employees. ©Southwest Airlines Do you have some flights booked in 2026? Taking a Disney Cruise soon? If so, you might be a little concerned about some upcoming weather issues caused by Hurricane Melissa, which is currently churning its way through the Atlantic Ocean. The hurricane is currently a Category 4 storm, but is forecast to intensify into a Category 5 storm soon. Disney Treasure! Disney Cruise Line is staying on top of the hurricane situation, though, so if you’re cruising on the Disney Wish or Disney Treasure this week, you should have received confirmation from Disney recently that your ship’s itinerary has changed. Travel agents and passengers with cruises booked on the Disney Treasure, departing on October 25th, and the Disney Wish, departing on October 27th, have received communication from Disney with details about changes to the itineraries. The Disney Treasure’s original route included a stop at Tortola and St. Thomas. However, now, the ship will visit Cozumel, Mexico, on Tuesday and Castaway Cay on Thursday and Friday. Here’s the revised itinerary for that cruise: Saturday: Port Canaveral, Florida Sunday: Day at Sea Monday: Day at Sea Tuesday: Cozumel, Mexico (previously Tortola, British Virgin Islands) Wednesday: Day at Sea (previously St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) Thursday: Disney Castaway Cay (previously Day at Sea) Friday: Disney Castaway Cay Saturday: Port Canaveral, Florida Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Cay Those with port adventures scheduled at Tortola and St. Thomas will have those removed from their onboard accounts. Port adventures for Cozumel and Castaway Cay can be booked onboard through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or at the Port Adventures desk. Those sailing on the October 27th Disney Wish cruise will receive a SeaMail with details about the route change. The revised itinerary for that sailing is as follows: Monday: Port Canaveral, Florida Tuesday: Disney Castaway Cay (previously Day at Sea) Wednesday: Nassau, The Bahamas Thursday: Day at Sea Friday: Port Canaveral, Florida Disney Wish at Castaway Cay Any pre-reserved Port Adventures at Castaway Cay will be adjusted to fit the revised itinerary. All that’s changed with this route is that the Disney Wish is visiting Castaway Cay on a different day. Stay tuned to DFB for more. If you’ve ever dined at Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom, you know it’s one of the coziest and most underrated restaurants in Disney World. But did you know it used to be a character meal? We’ve got a doozy of an idea that could transform this restaurant and we’re betting every Disney fan will jump on this train with us! Liberty Tree Tavern Tucked away in Liberty Square, this Colonial-style tavern serves up a family-style feast of roasted turkey, pot roast, stuffing, and mac and cheese. It’s basically a Thanksgiving dinner, 365 days a year — what more could you want? The warm wood tones, flickering lanterns, and Revolutionary-era décor make it the perfect escape from the Florida sun, and an ideal setting for a bit of nostalgic Disney to return. See, way back when, Liberty Tree Tavern was actually a character dining experience, featuring beloved Disney characters dressed in Colonial garb. Can you imagine meeting Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy in their 18th-century best, greeting guests in each of the tavern’s themed rooms? It was a charming and unique experience that perfectly fit the spirit of Liberty Square, and it’s something many longtime fans still remember fondly. Liberty Tree Tavern character meal. Gone but not forgotten. Now, with Disneyland Resort introducing Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast, we can’t help but think that Liberty Tree Tavern would be the perfect place for Walt Disney World to bring a similar concept to life. The restaurant already oozes holiday charm, from its hearty menu to its old-fashioned atmosphere, so layering in a “Christmas Carol” overlay featuring Mickey as Bob Cratchit, Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge, and Goofy as Jacob Marley would feel like a natural fit. Imagine sipping hot cider while characters in Dickensian costumes stroll through the dining rooms! I mean Disney World, can we bring this dream to life already? ©Disney A holiday event like that could truly be a game-changer for Liberty Tree Tavern, giving it a new seasonal draw and creating one of the most immersive holiday dining experiences in all of Disney World. It would celebrate nostalgia, storytelling, and the timeless appeal of Disney’s classic Christmas tale, all within one of Magic Kingdom’s most thematically perfect restaurants. Liberty Tree Tavern If you’re looking for a lot of food at a decent price (at least for Disney World), you’re going to get it here. But the food here is also good, with those traditional holiday flavors you love. Of course, we’d come here just for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake if they’d let us, but the rest is pretty pleasing, too. Note that if you can’t get a reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern, you can get the same meal at Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland (which may be easier to get into). Read Our Most Recent Liberty Tree Tavern Review Here Oooy Gooey Toffee Cake Here’s hoping Disney is taking notes from the West Coast, because if Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast ever made its way to Liberty Tree Tavern, it might just become the must-do holiday meal of the year. It’s no fun to get to Disneyland and realize your favorite ride is closed, but it happens. Now, we can’t do much to control ride closures that happen ON THE DAY, whether that’s due to weather or some kind of issue with the ride, but we can give you a heads up on scheduled ride closures, so that’s what we’re going to do. Indiana Jones Adventure So if you’re headed to Disneyland in early December, you’ll want to know about this popular ride closure: Indiana Jones Adventure will be closed on December 2nd and 3rd for refurbishment (probably just routine ride maintenance). According to Disneyland’s calendar, the ride will be closed on those two days, but will reopen on December 4th. So if you’re visiting during that time, keep in mind that you won’t be able to ride on those two specific days, and plan accordingly. ©Disney These kinds of short ride closures are common when a ride needs maintenance, so it’s nothing to be worried about. You’ll be able to go on an adventure with Indiana Jones inside the Temple of the Forbidden Eye again. In the meantime, if you’re still feeling adventurous, you can always go on the funniest river cruise ever on Jungle Cruise or sail the high seas with pirates on Pirates of the Caribbean. Indiana Jones Adventure Once the ride does reopen, you can probably expect long lines for it. In my personal experience, this is a good ride to rope drop to skip the lines, although the single rider line also has much shorter wait times. Otherwise, you might want to consider purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass to set a time to ride it with a shorter wait. We’ll keep you updated on other ride closures, so stay tuned to DFB for more. OK, be honest. Are you Team Halloween or Team Christmas? Halloween Time will soon be over, and then you know what happens…it will be Christmas…Christmas EVERYWHERE. Merry Christmas! Well, Christmas hasn’t been waiting around to make an appearance in Disneyland. Granted, we’re used to seeing Sleeping Beauty Castle with snow on it this time of the year (a.k.a. October), but an entire LAND in Disneyland is now decorated for the holidays. Halloween WHAT? It’s CHRISTMASTIME. If you visit Toontown right now, you’ll see something VERY festive. The entire town has been decked out for the holiday season (which technically doesn’t start until November 14th). So if you’re walking through the parks enjoying all the spooky Halloween decor, don’t be surprised when you walk into Toontown and completely change seasons! The holidays are here! You’ll find buildings decked out with holiday garland. Pretty garland The Toontown post office building has holiday garland AND a wreath. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Holidays at the post office Even Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin has been decked out with holiday cheer. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin Y’all…take a closer look at the wreath…Roger Rabbit is dressed like Santa! SO cute We love the additional pop of color the decorations give to the area. So colorful As we previously said, the official start of the holiday season in Disneyland begins on November 14th and runs through January 7th, 2026. During that time, you’ll get to see the special Christmas fireworks show in Disneyland on select nights, as well as enjoy the Christmas parade. The Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays will also be happening during that time — and we’ll be there giving you all the details on the festival, including reviews of its food booths. Have you ever dreamed of going to Remy’s restaurant, which is seen at the end of Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille? Well, what if we told you that you can go there! We’re talking, straight out of the movie, a fully immersive Ratatouille dining experience! Bistrot Chez Remy! We recently stopped by Bistrot Chez Remy at Walt Disney Studios Park, all the way in Paris! We couldn’t go all that way and not dine at the place that is meant to be there. We had lots to eat, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop for those travelling to Disneyland Paris? Atmosphere When we say this restaurant looked like it was pulled from the movie, we really mean it! We had to wait a little outside as there was a line for this popular dining spot. The doors had cute nods to Remy on them, and you could even see the iconic sign of Remy holding a wooden spoon similar to the one you see in the movie. Outside Chez Remy Inside, they had lots of decorations up showcasing the success of Remy and his restaurant. Inside We loved all the big and little details! Giant menu! You really started to feel immersed when you saw Remy’s big cookbook, and plates used as backings for the booths. We felt like we were now the size of a rat! Remy cookbook! The theming was amazing — there was a giant pot on the ceiling, Christmas lights everywhere, drink umbrellas… The theming is amazing! …plates behind the booths… Plates behind the booths …and wine caps as the seats. Caps for seats There was also a giant bottle of Ego’s wine! Ego’s wine bottle! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Let’s open up the menu featuring Remy on it, and see what they have cookin’ here. The menu You have a few menu options to choose from — which come with starters, main courses, and desserts. You can choose between the Rémy Menu, the Émile Menu, or the Little Chef Menu for the kiddos. The Rémy Menu is €45 and comes with a starter and main course. The Émile Menu is €55, and comes with a starter, main course, and dessert — wine can be added to make it €75. Let’s take a look! There are also a few different drinks to choose from here — they all looked so good! Drink menu There were lots of wines, champagnes, and other drinks to choose from. Wines and other drinks And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We decided to go for the Rémy Menu for €45 (we got two), which gives you a choice for a Starter and Main Course. The reason we decided to go for this instead of the Émile Menu, which comes with a dessert, is because we had a special dessert in mind that we wanted to get that wasn’t on the Émile Menu. Let’s get into the starters! First, we tried the Pear, Chestnut, and Duck Pâté en Croûte, Fig Marmalade. After the first few bites, we thought it was fine. However, the more we ate it, the more we actually started to enjoy it. Sometimes pâté can come hot, and sometimes it can come cold; ours came cold. Pear, Chestnut, and Duck Pâté en Croûte, Fig Marmalade It was a little bit try at times, but the pear and fig marmalade definitely gives this dish life. The chestnuts added an interesting crunch and texture. The duck wasn’t that dry, and it was pretty decent duck. This as a whole isn’t something we’d necessarily get again or recommend, but it wasn’t that bad — we ate all of it! This was interesting! The other starter we tried was the Seasonal Soup (Broccoli Soup) with The Laughing Cow and Mixed Herbs. This was INCREDIBLE! If you’re a fan of broccoli soup, you would fall in love with this. The soup was flavorful, creamy, smooth, comforting, and warm. Seasonal Soup (Broccoli Soup) with The Laughing Cow and Mixed Herbs The soup had laughing cow cheese on top that would melt into it, and the herbs would just slowly fall into the soup as well. You also get cheese in every bite. Honestly, bonus points because it just feels right to have a good soup while in Paris! This was so good! Alright, time for the main courses! Let’s start with the Grilled Steak and French Fries. You get your choice of sauce between Chef, Green Peppercorn, Brie, or Béarnaise. It was recommended to us to get the Green Peppercorn sauce, so that is what we got. Grilled Steak and French Fries We’ve gotten steak frites a few times while we were at Disneyland Paris, and we hate to say that this one was probably our least favorite. It was a flank steak, so it was pretty thin. It was cooked well, a nice medium with a nice pink and warm center. You could see a little salt at the center of the steak, but that was really all the seasoning on it. It was cooked to a good medium It just wasn’t the best steak we’ve had, unfortunately. The fries were pretty much normal, although they didn’t have a crunch to them. The peppercorn sauce was going up against some incredible competition that we’ve had during our trip, similar to the steak, and it just didn’t reach the same peak that others have. We dipped it into the sauce The sauce tasted more like a thin gravy, so it just wasn’t our favorite. It wasn’t terrible, we weren’t mad that we got it, we probably would just try something else next time! It looked tasty! The other main we got was the Roast Cod, Ratatouille, Crushed Potatoes, with Insigny PDO Beurre Blanc Sauce. To be completely honest, we were a little surprised that a pricier and fancier restaurant like this one had roast cod. That being said, there was no way we were going to pass up on a main dish that had Ratatouille with it! Roast Cod, Ratatouille, Crushed Potatoes, with Insigny PDO Beurre Blanc Sauce All that being said, the cod was so delicious! It was perfectly cooked, would fall apart on your fork, and it had that meaty texture. The butter sauce on the plate completely elevated the cod — it was like a butter sauce that you would get with the highest-end lobster in the U.S. It was truly SO delicious, and made the cod and potatoes taste luxurious. This was so delicious! AND THE BUTTER SAUCE! The ratatouille was very good as well. Our only wish with ratatouille is that we wish it were a starter that was served the way it looks in the movie. That’s what we’d all want to see! Regardless, it was great with great flavors, and tasty vegetables. We would get this dish again, hands down. Ratatouille! Let’s talk about dessert, because like we mentioned, we bought a separate special dessert. We had to go for the Birthday Dessert for €25. The desert is built to be shared with 2 or more people. It’s a Mickey Mousse cake! Birthday Dessert to Share for 2 or more people We’ll be completely honest with you…it was basically the exact same thing you would get at Disney World — although, maybe a little better! It was like a mousse cake — tasty, chocolatey, and had a little bit of a pearl crunch in it. It was tasty! We couldn’t resist and stop there when it came to dessert, so we added the Fromage Blanc-Raspberry Entremet, which is a dessert that looks like cheese. Fromage Blanc-Raspberry Entremet It was made with cottage cheese, which shocked us. The dessert was very light and airy, with a tart raspberry center. Let’s take a bite! We thought it was going to be sweet, but it wasn’t until you got to the raspberry — which threw us off. It’s a great dessert for people who want a dessert, but not something heavy and sweet. It has raspberry filling We will admit, this treat was super cute too, so it was fun to just have! Plus, how could we not get a dessert like this when dining at Remy’s restaurant?! This is so cute! Drinks We got a few things to drink, starting with the French 75 for €22. This was a Champagne Pierre Mignon Disneyland Paris Special Edition – Grande Réserve – with G’vine Floraison gin, lemon juice, and cane syrup. This drink was very nice — the waitress told us that there’s a regular who goes there and orders this three times! French 75 We think the most fun part of this is that it uses the Disneyland Paris special champagne. It was sweet, bubbly, and the lemon juice added a nice acidic tartness to it. The cane syrup didn’t taste like fake sugar, which we liked. We would definitely recommend this! We loved this! Next, we got the Bordeaux for €8,5. This is the special wine that was made for Chez Remy, which was really cool. This was such a good wine, like a peak wine! Bordeaux is a very famous French wine varietal. This was a dry red that left a pleasant dry feeling on your tongue and in your mouth. Bordeaux It had fruitiness on the palette, yet no over-sweetness from the fruit. It also had a pleasant light pepperiness to it. All in all, it was just a very good wine that we would 100% get again! This was an amazing wine! Lastly, we got Ze Pomcorn for €14. This had a popcorn flavored syrup, caramel flavored syrup, apple juice, and Perrie — interesting right?! This might be the GREATEST kids’ drink that you can get ANYWHERE! Ze Pomcorn The popcorn flavor syrup literally smacks you in the mouth in a shockingly pleasant way. The apple juice was crisp, and the drink was slightly bubbly to top it off. This was CRAZY sweet, but we downed it so fast! Yeah, we loved this! Look how fun this drink is! Nosh or Not This Disneyland Paris restaurant is a must-visit if… You want to try something new and different! It goes without saying that different countries will offer different tastes, and we like some of the adventurous stuff on the menu here. You want something familiar! On the contrary, there are some things here that you’ll be familiar with, like the steak and fries. It gives the restaurant a variety of unique and familiar foods, which is nice. You want to try Ratatouille! If you want to try the famous dish from the Pixar movie, this is your place! You should skip this Disneyland Paris spot if… You want something cheaper! This dining spot is a little pricier, like those high-end Disney World restaurants. That being said, when you travel all the way to Paris, you don’t want to miss out on a cool dining experience you won’t get anywhere else. You’re pickier! Yes, there are some things on the menu here that are “picky eater friendly”, but if you’re picky, you may want to try somewhere else. Overall This was an extremely fun environment to be in! You felt like you were shrunk down in size, and the food here was good enough that we’d want to come back and get more. We wish we had this dining spot at Disney World, but the diversity in all the Disney Parks does encourage people to check out the other parks around the world. Bistrot Chez Remy! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! ANOTHER Disney World attraction is closing this week! There are quite a few closures happening in Disney World right now, but we are here to make sure you aren’t caught by surprise with planned closures. Work is underway on Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Piston Peak National Park in Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney Studios in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the new Monsters, Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios. Mickey’s PhilharMagic This week, another Magic Kingdom attraction will be closing. But the good news is that it is only closing for a short amount of time. We are rounding up ALL the closures in Disney World this week so you are prepared. Starting November 1st, 2025, Mickey’s PhilharMagic in Magic Kingdom will be temporarily closing for routine refurbishment. It won’t be closed for long, though, as it is currently anticipated to reopen later in November. We don’t have an exact reopening date yet, but we will keep you updated. Mickey’s PhilharMagic The show is just undergoing a routine refurbishment, so we aren’t expecting any major changes, but you never know — we will be sure to keep you updated. Let’s take a look at the other attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from October 25th through November 1st, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has closed for refurbishment as of August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! It’s closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We recently got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are closed for good to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and we have seen workers on Tom Sawyer Island. The river has also started to be drained! Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and will be themed to look like a National Park. This Popular Magic Kingdom Restaurant Gave Me Serious Anxiety and It Ended Up Being Totally Valid Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Recently, Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! Magic Kingdom Is the #1 Most Visited Theme Park in the WORLD, but the Rest of the List May Surprise You! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market, a quick-service dining location in Animal Kingdom, will be temporarily closing on October 20th, 2025. It will be closed for a few months, and it is currently expected to reopen in early 2026. While we are sad to see the dining options decrease in Animal Kingdom, there are still lots of delicious options! Harambe Market You can stop by Flame Tree Barbecue or Satu’li Canteen for a tasty, quick-service meal. We aren’t expecting huge changes at Harambe Market during the refurbishment, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids is about to close for refurbishment! This water adventure will be temporarily closing beginning October 6th, and it is expected to reopen in December 2025. We aren’t expecting any huge changes to the ride, just some maintenance and general refurbishment. Kali River Rapids is currently closed We commonly see Kali River Rapids closed during the cooler months for refurbishment. Splashing through a water ride just isn’t the same when it is cooler outside, so we can see why Disney chose the fall or winter months to do some maintenance on this attraction. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, The Boneyard, Dino Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The Boneyard has permanently closed as of September 2nd. Dino Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites are also permanently closed as of October 20th, 2025. Trilo Bites is closed for good! It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus are still open, but Disney recently announced the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing for good on February 2nd, 2026. It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now closed to make way for a new show. Sign is up for the new Zootopia show! It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut on November 7th, 2025. The show begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities, where you’ll spot some new and familiar faces, including Heidi Howler, a wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. 5 Cringey Things That Make Me Rethink Walking Into Animal Kingdom Ever Again Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie — Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The good news is that it is just a temporary closure, and it is expected to reopen later this year! Vacation Fun Vacation Fun is joining an already lengthy list of closures in Hollywood Studios, including Animation Courtyard and Muppets Courtyard. There is still plenty to do in Hollywood Studios, but be prepared for a fair amount of construction happening! Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. The arch is now gone! This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. The Muppet*Vision sign has been covered! Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. “I Have Genuinely Never Had a Good Time There” — Disney Adults Confess What They Hate About Hollywood Studios Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach has been closed since September 8th, 2025! While it has been wonderful having BOTH Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time this summer (which was the first time this has happened in YEARS), that has now come to an end. Blizzard Beach is now closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach Have no fear, though, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open! REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf If you are planning on playing some miniature golf during your Disney World trip, you have some options. You can head over to Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Gold or Winter Summerland Miniature. However, if you are headed over to Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf, one of the courses will be closed for refurbishment. Fantasia Mini Golf Course From September 9th to November 7th, 2025, the Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf course will be undergoing refurbishment. While it is closed, the Fantasia Gardens course will remain open, but guests won’t be able to reserve tee times (guests will tee off on a first-come, first-served basis). That still leaves you three courses to explore between the one at Fantasia Gardens & Fairways and the two courses at Winter Summerland! Disney World Hotels Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery will be closing its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery hasn’t announced yet where that new location will be, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! The Paddock Pool, Aquatic Play Area, and The Paddock Grill — Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The Paddock Pool, the aquatic play area, and The Paddock Grill will be closed from October 13th, 2025, until early December for routine maintenance. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort As we enter the cooler months, we are seeing more hotel pools undergoing routine maintenance. It is all an important part in making sure the Walt Disney World Resort is looking its best. Leisure Pool at Miller’s Road — Disney’s Old Key West Resort If you are staying at Old Key West soon, you will want to take note of this closure! From September 29th through late November, the leisure pool at Miller’s Road will be closed for routine maintenance. Disney’s Old Key West Good news, though. The Sandcastle Pool and both leisure pools at Old Turtle Pond and South Point will still be open. So, there will be plenty of options for having some poolside fun! Fantasia Kiddie Pool — Disney’s All-Star Movies The Fantasia kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort has been closed for maintenance since September 8th. The pool is expected to be closed through late October, but Disney hasn’t announced a specific reopening date yet. Disney’s All-Star Movies While the Fantasia kiddie pool is closed, the Fantasia Feature Pool and Duck Pond Pool will remain open, and guests staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort are welcome to use the kiddie pools at Disney’s All-Star Music and Disney’s All-Star Sports. The Samawati Springs Pool Slide — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Starting on September 8th, the Samawati Springs Pool Slide will be closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village for routine maintenance. Disney hasn’t announced a date for when the slide will reopen. Samawati Springs Pool If you’re staying at the resort, there will still be another water slide option for you to enjoy at the Uzima Springs Pool! ONLY the slide at The Samawati Springs Pool will be closed; you can still use the pool, just not the slide. You just may see or hear construction at work. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated.
