  1. Walt Disney World offers a wide variety of attractions over its four theme parks, with rides for everyone from young children to thrill seekers to grandparents. EPCOT alone features rides that fit into all these categories. However, just because Disney has different rides for every potential guest doesn’t mean that every ride is for every potential guest. Spaceship Earth In my 30+ years visiting EPCOT, my own body has started reacting differently to different rides, to the point where I’ve had to change some of my every visit list (apologies to my chiropractor for skipping Mission Space). In addition, even certain rides that I can still handle physically may not have the same emotional appeal to me that they do to others, and I’m only in my late 30s. How about Walt Disney World guests in their 50s? Which EPCOT rides do some in that age range tend to skip? Well, this is what our anecdotal research shows! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind A strong case can be made that this MCU-based coaster is the top thrilling ride in Walt Disney World, thanks to its innovative omnicoaster ride system. However, the experience isn’t for everyone. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Riders 50+, especially those with motion sickness or physical issues, may desire to skip over Guardians thanks to its backwards launch, spinning coaster cars, and 60 MPH speed. Cosmic Rewind Mission Space Similar to Guardians, those in the 50s age range may skip out on the somewhat controversial simulator attraction, thanks to its ride system. Specifically, the ride’s spinning centrifuge can be especially bothersome to those with motion sickness issues. Of course, on top of that, some guests in the age range to have visited EPCOT in the 1980s and early 90s might be boycotting Mission Space since it replaced the beloved Horizons, a concept we’ll revisit again in a bit. Mission Space Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After We’re grouping these two rides together mainly because some in the 50+ age range may be skipping them, for the same reasons. See, both of these attractions feature long waits and are based on intellectual properties that were introduced in the last 20 years. Hey, Remy! In other words, for riders of a certain age, these rides mean a long wait for something they likely have little emotional attraction to, unless they’re visiting with their kids or even grandkids, of course. Frozen Ever After Journey Into Imagination With Figment Finally, we have the modern incarnation of the Imagination Pavilion’s ride. This one is purely based on the fact that old school EPCOT fans in the 50+ age range likely have a distaste for the current incarnation of the ride, and miss the original Dreamfinder & Figment version of their youth. Figment! Not every ride in EPCOT is for everyone, and that includes guests in their 50s. 3. If you’ve ever planned a Disney World vacation, you know that every dollar counts. The Emporium at Magic Kingdom Between park tickets, meals, and souvenirs, costs can add up fast. Which is exactly why finding little ways to save makes such a big difference. But here’s something most people don’t realize: there’s an easy way to save 10% on certain Disney purchases, and chances are, you might already have the tool in your wallet. It’s the Disney Visa Card, and while many guests use it to pay for their Disney vacations, few actually take full advantage of its built-in discounts. The Disney Visa Card, offered by Chase, is a credit card designed for Disney fans. Cardholders earn Disney Rewards Dollars on everyday purchases that can be redeemed for park tickets, dining, resort stays, and merchandise. But beyond the rewards, the real perk for parkgoers is the instant savings it offers. Disney Visa Card At many Disney-owned shops and restaurants throughout Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, cardholders can save 10% on select purchases simply by using the card to pay. The catch? Most people miss it because they don’t mention the discount when asked the classic Cast Member question: “Any discounts?” If you don’t speak up, the system doesn’t automatically apply it. Yes, even if you pay with the card, you still need to tell the CM that you have a discount! Rewards Card That 10% might not sound huge, but it adds up quickly. Spend $100 on souvenirs, and you’re instantly saving $10. If you do that a few times during your trip, you could easily save $50 or more. Just remember: you’ll need to pay with your Disney Visa and mention that you have it to receive the discount. Cast Members can’t retroactively apply it once the transaction is complete, so it’s worth making it a habit to ask every time. I Had NO IDEA About These Two Disney Visa Cardmember Perks A Disney Visa Card! Beyond merchandise and dining savings, the Disney Visa Card offers a few extra park perks that make it even more appealing. Cardholders get access to exclusive character meet-and-greets in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, plus special vacation financing options on select Disney vacation packages. There are also discounts on select tours, recreation, and spa experiences, as well as perks for Disney Cruise Line and shopDisney.com. ©Disney So next time you’re at Disney and a Cast Member asks, “Any discounts?” — don’t just say “no.” If you’ve got a Disney Visa, say “yes” and use it to pay. 5. Do you consider yourself a Disney pro? Are you the person family and friends go to when planning a trip to Disney World? Then you surely know about this Disney shortcut… Welcome to Disney World! If you don’t, your “Disney expert” status juuuuust might be in question. But, don’t worry, you’re secret’s safe with us. Just follow along, find out, and then pretend you’ve always known about it! So what’s this shortcut I’m talking about? Glad you asked! I’m talking about the walkway that connects Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now you might be rolling your eyes and thinking, “I already know how to get around the parks,” but hold up! If you don’t already know about this shortcut, it might seriously change how you approach your next park day. Hollywood Studios You know the drill. You’re at the hotel and you’ve spent all morning getting ready for the day. You’ve refueled with some Mickey waffles, and now you’re ready for a Star Wars adventure at Hollywood Studios. Here’s where the question comes in: “How am I going to get there without losing precious park time?” Boardwalk Skyliner Gondola Station Most people will jump on the Skyliner, hop a bus, or, even drive their own car, but if you’re staying anywhere in the Crescent Lake area, meaning Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Yacht and Beach Club, or the Swan and Dolphin, there’s an underrated shortcut you need to know about. This New Map Shows What Disney World Looks Like With EVERY Transportation Route (Even the Ones You Didn’t Know About) The Shortcut: BoardWalk to Hollywood Studios Here’s the deal: There’s a scenic walking path that starts at Disney’s BoardWalk and leads directly to Hollywood Studios! You can find the walkway just beyond the BoardWalk’s villas area, near the Jellyrolls and the Atlantic Dance Hall. It’s a peaceful stroll along the water, complete with lovely views of Crescent Lake and boats ferrying other guests to the park. ©Google The walk itself is a little over 1-mile one-way, which can take about 25-30 minutes if you’re going at a pretty leisurely pace. But guess what? You’re not going to be waiting for transportation, there’s no getting stuck in post-show traffic, and zero lines. It’s just you, the path, and maybe a few ducks along the way. These Disney Adult Hollywood Studios Hacks Are Getting Out of Control Why You Should Consider the Walk It’s Time-Saving: Sure, 25 minutes sounds like a lot of walking when you’re already on your feet all day, but trust me. It’s faster than waiting for a bus or Skyliner, especially during peak times. It’s Relaxing: Need a break from the crowds? The walkway is usually pretty chill, and offers a quiet escape before you dive back into the action. The Views: You’ll pass the gorgeous BoardWalk Resort area and even spot the Tower of Terror looming in the distance. Plus, the water views are just oh, so peaceful. These EPCOT International Gateway Hacks Are Getting Out of Control It’s Also Perfect for Post-Show Exit Also, after Fantasmic! (or even just having stayed in the park until park close), the lines for buses, boats, and Skyliner can get out of control. But, if you’re in the know about this walking path, you can zip past all of the crowds and be back at your resort in no time. It’s like having a Lightning Lane for your feet! Walking Path between Disney’s BoardWalk and Hollywood Studios ©Disney So, if you’re staying near the BoardWalk or just want to explore more of what Disney’s Crescent Lake area has to offer, the walking path is a total hidden gem. Next time you hit up Hollywood Studios, go ahead give your feet a little extra magic and take the scenic route. You might just find it’s your new favorite Disney hack. 8. Sometimes, when you’re visiting Disney World, you’re just looking for a solid place to grab a quick snack and a drink away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. While we’d typically direct you to the nearest Disney World hotel lounge in these instances, there’s ANOTHER less talked about spot that knows how to draw us in each and every time we pass by! We’re in LOVE We recently stopped by Boardwalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere If you’re looking for one of the best places to grab a quick drink to sip as you stroll around Disney World, there’s no better place we have in mind than BoardWalk Joe’s. This stand found at Disney’s BoardWalk is known mostly for its “Marvelous Margaritas!” It’s nestled right in between the likes of notable Disney World restaurants like AbracadaBar, Trattoria al Forno, and its newest neighbors, The Cake Bake Shop and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Come on up There’s not a whole lot to take in here aside from a cute snack stand that features large glowing bulbs that outline the stand’s sign and draw your eye almost immediately at first glance. It’s themed just like something you might expect to find at a regular Boardwalk along the Atlantic, decked out in bold red and white stripes and accented in hues of yellow and lime green (just like you might find garnishing your margarita). Nearby seating All you gotta do here is waltz right up to the stand, browse what’s available, and wait for your order to appear — like magic! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Since this is a permanent snack stand, the menu here can feel a bit limited, but don’t let that stop you from taking a look around at what’s in store! They carry a few savory snack options as well as a few non-alcoholic beverages to choose from… ©Disney …as well as (you guessed it) an impressive line of margaritas, coladas, beers, and even some wine! ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Nachos for $5.29, which are served with cheese sauce. Nachos! We love this huge portion, especially for a little over $5. It’s an easy portion to share, but it does come with one cup of prepackaged cheese. It’s not quite our beloved plastic cheese that you can grab at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom, but more of its close cousin. It had the perfect consistency — just a bit runny and great for dipping. The chips weren’t too thick or thin but had a perfect amount of crisp without tasting stale. They hold up well to the cheese and have the perfect amount of salt, especially when enjoyed with a salt-rimmed margarita. CHEESE! They’ve also got one of our favorite Disney World snacks hiding here, so we knew we had to grab the Jalapeño-Stuffed Pretzel for $7.99. Stuffed pretzel! We love stuffed pretzels at Disney World, and this one is no exception. There was just enough cheese inside, without all the twists and turns of the pretzels, with tiny tidbits of jalapeno cut up. It provides just enough heat to know it’s there without being overpowering. The top of the pretzel is covered in parmesan cheese with a light garlic taste, so it’s not coated in salt — that’s going to have to come from your margarita instead. The parmesan provides a light salty taste, and the whole pretzel was lovely and perfect, and a good price for the portion. We’re totally going to grab this again! Stuffed! Drinks To drink, we picked up the DOLE Whip Smoothie for $6.29. This is made with delicious Pineapple DOLE Whip. Pineapple DOLE Whip Smoothie This drink is for the win! It’s thicker than a float but not as thick as a milkshake. The sips were perfectly smooth, and the pineapple flavor was super strong throughout. We think kids and DOLE Whip lovers will be obsessed with this. There’s also a strawberry version that looked popular since everyone around us was ordering them. It’s a fun and unique drink that won’t break the bank but still feels special. Like melted DOLE Whip — delicious! We also picked up the Patrón Disney Select Añejo Margarita for $18.50. This is made with Patrón Disney Select Barrel Añejo, Cointreau, and Sweet-and-Sour. Margarita time Hey, sweet-and-sour lovers, put this on your must-try list. The drink is very lime-forward and very sour. If you prefer the sweet side of sweet-and-sour, you might want to choose a different drink, but those who are always popping sour candies will love this. The alcohol flavor is very faint, and we enjoyed the salt rim on the outside, especially with our snacks. We’ve tried a few other margaritas here before, like the Sunshine Margarita that we have really enjoyed, and think other flavors might be more unique, but you can’t go wrong with this one either. Sweet and sour Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are looking for a quick snack and drink You love classic snacks and both adventures and classic margaritas You are on the BoardWalk and want to stop somewhere before your dinner reservation You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a longer meal with more seating and larger portions You like more than just bar food and want more dining options for the whole family You don’t like specialty drinks and prefer to stick to the sodas and water Our meal Overall You know, I think the restaurant name is pretty accurate — these were marvelous! If you’re on the BoardWalk and are looking for a quick snack and drink, this is a perfect place to stop with options for everyone, including kids, mocktails, and alcohol free options. The snacks were delicious and matched the whole meal, which we really enjoyed. Don’t rule out this quick stop! We loved it, and you’ll probably find us here again, sipping on margaritas while watching the fireworks over EPCOT. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 9. THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Something NEW is landing at Magic Kingdom, and we are about to take off to check it out! Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom We’re stepping into Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom to check on AstroFizz, a new snack kiosk that is replacing the long-standing Cool Ship, which closed in May 2025. All of Cool Ship was demolished and rebuilt with a fresh new look. That resulted in walls being put up in that area. (They weren’t cute!) However, we’re here to tell you that those walls are finally DOWN! Let’s start by saying that we will miss Cool Ship — it’s been a part of the park (and misting us with water) for over 30 years. That said, count us in for new snacks, treats, and drinks! Progress has been moving rapidly over the past few days. Yesterday, we noticed that they officially put up the sign for AstroFizz, and today, we saw that there are no more construction walls surrounding the kiosk. That means for the first time, we got to see the new kiosk in full glory — look at this new, modernized retro look! AstroFizz! We had to walk up to get a closer look and saw the electronic sign with the posted hours. We’re assuming this will be the menu screen while the kiosk is open. The menu screens! It feels so different — wait until you see this in person! Even though it has a modern style, it still has a retro ’50s look and feel to it, which we really like. The counter! You can actually hop onto the My Disney Experience app, and you’ll see that AstroFizz officially shows up on the map — COMING SOON (*silent screech*). Map official! Speaking of “coming soon”, when does AstroFizz open? Well, Disney World released its full list of menus for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and the event runs on select nights from November 7th through 21st (yes, that soon). The list of menu items included a special party-exclusive snack at AstroFizz, a Cherry-White Chocolate Slushy. That means we expect this place to open any day now! ©Disney AstroFizz will have to be open by November 7th at the LATEST! So, it appears that it will be officially open on that date, or possibly sooner if Disney chooses to do so. The snack stand is going to be brought to you by Coca-Cola and will have “buttery popcorn and fluffy cotton candy” along with “frozen slushies or assorted Coca-Cola Fountain Beverages.” Take a look at the slushies! ©Disney We already know the unique Cherry Cola Churro is going to be POPULAR! It’s a churro rolled in cherry sugar, drizzled with Coca-Cola Cherry icing, and topped with cherry popping candies. ©Disney Ahhh, we’re so excited to try all that this kiosk has to offer. Prepare for a rush on opening day, and especially during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. For more Disney news and updates, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog! 10. Every year, October never fails to drop some massive Disney news bombs that have us shook. This October was no different. Magic Kingdom Where to even begin? We saw updates on theme park construction progress, ride changes, and so much more. Honestly, Disney’s announcements in October quickly tired us out — but not enough to stop us from recapping some big news while highlighting one change that isn’t going to go over well with a majority of Disney fans… First, let’s talk about some positives! Disney announced that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT will close on November 10th, 2025, to add “enhanced digital visuals and clearer imagery projected in 2D,” as well as new props and lighting enhancements. That’s right — we’re saying goodbye to the 3D. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure The ride will reopen pretty soon on November 14th with these changes. However, Disney World will continue to add new elements to the ride and its queue over the coming months. Similar changes are happening to the same ride at Disneyland Paris, which will also add a new scene in the queue that features a Parisian artist’s studio, complete with canvases, paint splatters, and a fruit basket. No more 3D Staying in EPCOT, Frozen Ever After is getting a LITERAL facelift! The animatronics will take inspiration from the animatronics seen at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland — moving away from projected faces to feature a more true-to-film look. Eek! Sometimes they don’t always work! The updates are expected to be completed by early 2026, and the ride is expected to close soon for this refurbishment/change. Hong Kong Disneyland Animatronics The EPCOT announcements didn’t stop there. To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, Soarin’ is installing Soarin’ Across America at EPCOT and Disney California Adventure. ©Disney This new version will highlight some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes beginning in the summer of 2026. Soarin’ Around the World There were also several other announcements like merch updates and the reveal that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets will open in the summer of 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but we’ve taken the “good news first” approach far enough. The single biggest announcement Disney made in October was that prices are rising at both Disney World and Disneyland. Yep. We’re used to seeing Disney raise prices in October each year. and this year was no different. The price hikes are EVERYWHERE. Both Disneyland AND Disney World got price increases — park tickets, dining, parking, you name it. Everything went up in price. ©Disney For all the details, check out the following posts: Disney World Raises Ticket Prices Disney World Annual Passes Hit With Price Increases Thousands of Prices Hit Disney World Restaurants Disneyland Hit With Price Increases Unfortunately, your next Disney vacation (on either coast) will cost you more. 12. Four words, dear Disney fans: Lightning McQueen cheese sandwich. Need we say more? Does anyone else spend an absurd amount of time thinking about both Disney AND food? It’s all we do around here (good thing we work at a place called Disney FOOD Blog, right?!). Well, if you, too, like the sound of a Lightning McQueen cheese sandwich, you’ve come to the right place. We know where to get one! Meet the Croque McQueen! This adorable little treat is sold over at Disneyland Paris, where we spent most of our time exploring the parks and snacking around Paris. Dream vacation, right? Well, if you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, you might be tempted to try a Croque Monsieur. But before you make a beeline to Main Street, consider the Croque McQueen instead. Over at Walt Disney Studios Park in the Worlds of Pixar, there is a cute little snack stand called the Laugh ‘N’ Go! Here, you’ll find a few little ice cream treats and, more importantly, the Croque McQueen for 8,5 euros. It’s a ham and La Vache qui rit (a.k.a. The Laughing Cow) melted cheese sandwich, toasted to order “in a flash.” (Hehe, good one, Disney!) Behold! Our dream sandwich This is a great little savory snack. Bread? Loved. Cheese? Loved. What’s not to enjoy here?! Honestly, though, we can’t sit here and tell you that this was the best Croque Monsieur we had the whole time we were in Paris. It’s Paris, duh. That said, this is the perfect sandwich for kids. You’re getting a sandwich with Lightning McQueen printed on it — that’s a pretty cool treat if you ask us. YUM! It’s a pretty thin sandwich, as you can see, and most adults would probably agree that this is “just okay.” Don’t expect this to fill you up — there’s a reason we’re calling this a snack, not lunch. That said, this was served very fresh and hot, so they aren’t kidding when they advertise it as toasted to order “in a flash.” Here’s a peek inside! Disneyland Paris has a lot of fun snacks, but we’ll admit that, in some cases, the appearance is more appealing than the flavor. We are happy to report, though, that the Croque McQueen is worth buying! That warm, toasted bread pairs nicely with the cheese, and you really can’t go wrong with a cheese sandwich. That’s all from this spot, but we have a TON of other reviews to share from our trip! Keep reading to learn more about the snack selection at Disneyland Paris. 14. When guests step into the eerie, cobwebbed halls of the Haunted Mansion, it’s not just the ghoulish atmosphere and ghostly inhabitants that make the attraction unforgettable – the cast members and the costumes they wear have become a beloved component of the Haunted Mansion experience that truly brings the attraction to life. These outfits are modeled after the attire typically worn by servants of large mansions in the late 1800s – with waistcoats paired with vests or floor-length dresses with aprons and hats, all in subdued colors as to not draw much attention to the staff. Despite this, the costumes have gained their own fanbase and become an integral part of Disney Parks fandom, inspiring everything from merchandise collections to elaborate cosplay, in addition to playing a critical part in the attraction’s storyline. Haunted Mansion Cast Members Dress and Delight Around the World The deep, dark green costumes at the Haunted Mansion reflect the uniform traditionally worn by the household staff of large estates more than 100 years ago, with distinctly Disney components. Guests have grown to love the signature striped pattern, pops of purple, lace detailing, headpieces topped with a boo-tiful black bat, and of course – the classic cast member nametag to complete the ensemble. Whether you’re at Disneyland park, Magic Kingdom, or Tokyo Disneyland, cast members at the Haunted Mansion are eager to share stories of the mansion and its inhabitants, from well-known favorites to lesser-known legends. From the ever-so-iconic Madame Leota to the reclusive Hatbox Ghost at Disneyland and Disney World, these silly ghouls have floated into the pop culture realm, even more elevated by the spirited, delightful cast members who love sharing stories of the mansion and beyond. Cast members working in the Haunted Mansion are known as Caretakers, reflecting an attitude that is formal yet unfamiliar, with an extra layer of charm behind each grin and smirk. Whether you are greeting a cast member at the imposing front porch of the mansion or stepping away from the walls toward the dead center of the stretching room, you probably have an idea of what this role takes from past visits, no matter what time of the year you’re visiting. Over the years, these cast members have even participated in fun cast activities outside of the world-famous attraction. In 2023, specially selected cast members from each Haunted Mansion at Disney parks worldwide, including the unique variations inspired by it, were invited to attend the world premiere event of the 2023 film at Disneyland Resort. Take a look at some of the pictures from the event above! Just like so many dedicated Disney Parks fans, it’s always fun to debate which cast member costume is your favorite. So, what is it like being able to say you worked at the Haunted Mansion and were able to wear a fan-favorite costume? We asked Kristin Camacho, a former Haunted Mansion Caretaker at Disneyland. “Haunted Mansion has always been my favorite attraction. Growing up local to the park, I have so many memories of the ride itself, but also the cast members and how they were the ones actually bringing the story to life,” said Kristin, who now serves as a guest talent coordinator with Disney Imagination Campus. Kristin also reflected on her time at the mansion, recalling an especially memorable experience she had with a guest dressed head to toe in some iconic ghoulish gear. “One of my favorite memories was when a mom approached me at the entrance gates and told me she had a shy daughter who had a surprise for me. She stepped aside and behind her was the cutest little girl in a full Haunted Mansion costume. We took a picture and I walked her to the entrance steps of the attraction. Knowing I’ll get to be in those photos and in her memory means so much to me because I have so many pictures and memories of my own with cast members,” said Kristin. Moments like these are a huge part of the Haunted Mansion lore, bringing cast members and guests together for a grim grinning good time full of playful laughs and silly gags. So, if you were a Haunted Mansion cast member wearing the legendary dark green outfit, what would your favorite part be? The spirited striped dress or the fashionably jaded jacket fit for supernatural service? Be sure to let us know on social media this Halloween by sharing your best fits inspired by the legendary attraction! Cast Members Bring the Story to Life at Haunted Mansion-Inspired Locations Since the attraction opened on August 9, 1969, at Disneyland park, the Haunted Mansion has become a fan favorite of so many guests with its sly humor, legendary music, and 999 of those instantly iconic ghouls. Yet before even boarding your Doom Buggy and experiencing chilling anticipation from scene to scene, cast members in daft disguise instantly make you feel right at home as you witness an array of spectral sights and ghostly gags. This chilling charm has helped the legendary storyline expand around the world, putting cast members right in the center of the action in each of the iconic mansions and manors. In fact, cast members have also donned several variations on these familiar-yet-frightful costumes at additional locations around the world, including at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland! Opening in 1992, Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris debuted as the first attraction inspired by the original Haunted Mansion with its own unique name and storyline, while the mysterious Mystic Manor opened its doors in 2013 at Hong Kong Disneyland by following the story of the mischievous monkey, Albert, his friend, Lord Henry Mystic, and their museum of artifacts, which supernaturally come to life when they come into contact with mystical, musical dust also through an original storyline. Last year, Disney Cruise Line took the spooky stories of the famed estate to sea for the first time when it welcomed the Haunted Mansion Parlor onboard the Disney Treasure (and starting in November with its inaugural sailings, the Disney Destiny), offering spirited craft cocktails and even more haunted hijinks. While ghosts arrive for the midnight spree during your visit, cast members in this already-iconic location dress in a slight alternative to the famed look, yet still seamlessly blend right in with the purple and dark green hues found throughout the lounge. As new experiences continue to delight fans and the tales of the mansion grow further into the great beyond, stories of families and friends who have worn the costume continue to echo through the halls of the attraction, bringing together sympathetic vibrations with more than an ounce of enchanting excitement for generations to come. Haunted Mansion Merchandise Upon entering the mansion grounds, cast members transform into the staff of mysterious butlers and maids that grimly assist visitors and faithfully maintain the house, known for its ghostly goings and gatherings. Guests have long appreciated the costumes these cast members wear, for both the role they play in the immersive storytelling of the attraction and simply because of the unmistakable aesthetic. These days, anyone can join in on the frightful fun and serve as an honorary Caretaker (at least in our eyes), thanks to a variety of merchandise that is influenced directly by the captivating costumes cast members are clad in at Disneyland park and Magic Kingdom park – with that signature color palette, beloved motifs, and intricate patterns. Fans of the Haunted Mansion can don the distinctive dark green color scheme, stripes and all, which previously materialized in apparel and accessories including The Haunted Mansion Clogs for Adults by Crocs and The Haunted Mansion Spirit Jersey – available on DisneyStore.com. Her Universe also creepily crafted some pieces like the Ghost Host Fashion Top and The Haunted Mansion Monogram Pullover Sweatshirt by Her Universe – allowing you to truly step into the spirited world of the Haunted Mansion and show off your spooky style. Haunted Mansion Fandom The magic of the Haunted Mansion costumes extends far beyond its walls and halls – fans are often finding ways to display and celebrate the attraction’s ghostly allure, showcasing the unmistakable style of the mansion’s mysterious maids and butlers. It is not uncommon to see guests at the separately ticketed Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort or Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disneyland Resort outfitted in some version of these eerily elegant costumes. The same can be said for other events where fans are encouraged to don their Disney best, whether it be at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event or any runDisney race weekend. We are always impressed by the meticulously-made outfits that pay homage to our hard-working cast members, bringing the Haunted Mansion’s spectral staff to life in a way that truly speaks to the love our fans have for this attraction. Oftentimes in the parks (especially now during Halloween Time), you can also spot guests taking a more subtle approach through Disney “bounding,” where they style outfits using a mix of everyday clothing or accessories combined with recognizable elements to evoke the essence of a certain character – or in this case, cast member. Even Josh Gad took on the role of Caretaker for a day earlier this year, stepping into the shoes that many do every day at Disneyland park. Outfitted in this fan-favorite ensemble, he made his way through the mansion with a little help from some other cast members (and perhaps some ghosts, too) before fully embracing his role and welcoming guests to the attraction. Even Disney Legends want to be a part of this spooky story! As you are scrolling through the Disney Parks Blog looking for the latest news and updates this Halloween season, you may even notice the Haunted Mansion theming on the site – an extra touch of mansion mischief and way of paying homage to the attraction’s aesthetic, which is defined largely by the cast members and their costumes. Now that you know some of the history behind the hallowed halls of the Haunted Mansion and the lore of these looks, we hope you’ll hurry back soon to admire these clever costumes! While you’re there, be sure to thank the cast members you see for their spooky service to this beloved attraction. 15. It is time to celebrate Zoogether Day! We finally got the chance to see the NEW show inside the Tree of Life Theatre at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and you are coming along with us. After all, you can’t celebrate Zoogether Day unless you do it “zoogether”, right? We have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this new show since it was announced back in 2023, and we had the opportunity to get a preview before it officially opens. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Sign “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” officially opens on November 7th, but we were lucky enough to check it out a bit early. And, y’all, we have so much to tell you! Let’s get into it and find out what you should look (and listen!) out for when you experience this all-new attraction. We checked out “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” at Animal Kingdom, and we have some stuff to tell you! This post contains spoilers, so don’t read it if you want to be surprised when you see the show for the first time! The all-new 4D show (as viewed through your Carrot Vision 3D Glasses!) begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities! Here, you’ll spot some new and familiar faces, including Heidi Howler, a wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. Joining the gang for Zoogether Day is an audio-animatronic of none other than Benjamin Clawhauser, who is decked out in glow necklaces, bracelets, and his favorite glittery Gazelle tee shirt for the celebration! We can’t wait for you to see this new show. Celebrating Zoogether Day! It Isn’t Reinventing the Wheel, But It Is Still Enjoyable This is an overlay on the old It’s Tough to Be a Bug show. While it is now distinctly Zootopia-themed, it still uses the existing theatrical and sensory effects from It’s Tough to Be a Bug. The show has an all-new story, and it is now focused on the characters of Zootopia, but you can still feel the ghost of It’s Tough to Be a Bug in the theater. This wasn’t a complete demolition and rebuilding, but instead, Imagineers used what was already in the Tree of Life to bring this new show to life. Our carrot vision glasses! Don’t get us wrong — we still greatly enjoyed this new show — but it won’t feel like a completely new experience if you have seen It’s Tough to Be a Bug. You will notice that many of the effects are used again in this new show, and the theater looks very similar to how it used to. Good news, though, the “stinging” effect from It’s Tough to Be a Bug is gone, but the effect that was supposed to feel like bugs crawling under your seat is still there. You Might Get Wet You might just be in the splash zone during this show! Water effects were also used during It’s Tough to Be a Bug, but we felt this show used them more. While the effect is used in clever and funny ways, be prepared that you might be leaving with a wetter outfit than when you entered. Be prepared for water effects Depending on where you sit in the theater, you might get semi-drenched during this show. Although we visited the show during a preview, so it is possible that the water effect may be scaled back in the future. The Animatronic Is One of Our Favorite Parts Benjamin Clawhauser has arrived, and he is a star! While he is truly the star of the show, he was also one of our favorite parts. The animatronic is well-done and has incredibly smooth movements. It is integrated seamlessly with the screen, and at one point even transitions from a physical animatronic to an animated form. Benjamin Clawhauser is present throughout the show, and he is the biggest reason you should see this show. We love the animatronic! We are officially starting a Benjamin Clawhauser fan club, and we are inviting you to join! SPOILER ALERT: Everything You Need To Know About the 4D Effects at Disney’s New Zootopia Show Be Prepared for Fun Effects Just like It’s Tough to Be a Bug, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is a 4D show that features lots of fun effects. During the show, we noticed air, water, smoke, and bubble effects. Like we mentioned before, the show still utilizes the bugs crawling under your seat effect, but the poking effect is NOT in this show. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! We thought the effects were used thoughtfully throughout the show, which helped you feel more immersed in the storytelling. Where Is “Try Everything”? We were SO ready to sing along to “Try Everything.” Our vocal cords were warmed up, and we were jamming on our way over to the show: “I won’t give up, no, I won’t give in. ‘Til I reach the end, and then I’ll start again.” However, we are sad to report that this song was NOT included in the new show. There were still plenty of fun tunes, but we were definitely hoping for this song to be included! We’ll be alright, but we just wanted to send out a PSA in case you were also expecting this song in the show. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Overall, this was a very enjoyable show! It is on the shorter side, at about 9 minutes, but it was fast-paced and kept us engaged. The story quickly jumped through multiple scenes and settings, offering viewers a lot of variety in a relatively short time. We’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Disney World you need to know about. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and beyond! 16. Does anyone else still get shudder-inducing flashbacks to the time when Disney STUNG us on the It’s Tough To Be a Bug attraction? But really…what was up with that?! It’s safe to say we were VERY relieved when Disney confirmed that the new iteration of its Tree of Life show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, would NOT feature any stinging effects. But Disney did tease other 4D effects, which left us wondering…what’s next? Well, we got the chance to preview this attraction EARLY (it officially opens November 7th), so we have all the details on what to expect. Time to celebrate Zootopia Day! Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show is taking over inside the Tree of Life Theater (formerly the home of It’s Tough to Be A Bug). Now that we’ve seen the show, we have to tell you, some of the new effects were NOT what we expected. Beware, spoilers ahead! While we appreciated the old It’s Tough to Be A Bug show, we were happy to hear that there won’t be anything poking us in the back in the new Zootopia show. Honestly, we saw kids and adults alike surprised and scared by the effects from It’s Tough to Be A Bug, especially if they didn’t know what they were getting into (at LEAST once every show, we saw parents have to take horrified kiddos out of the theater). Spiders dropped from the ceiling…acid bugs…and the Hopper animatronic often gave us nightmares. The Hopper animatronic Now, as a reminder, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is still a 4D show, meaning not only will you get your 3D CarrotVision glasses, but there are also effects during the show that will interact with you. (By the way, the glasses are the same ones Disney used for the old show — no changes here!) These look familiar! So what does the show REALLY feel like? If someone’s wildly opposed to 4D elements, will they hate it? Now that we’ve gotten a chance to check it out, let’s dive into what you can expect during this ride. This post will contain spoilers, so if you don’t want to know the details, look away! We’ll just tell you that while there are effects, little ones are not likely to feel scared, and although there’s one thing that bumps under your seat, it’s not unpleasant or uncomfortable. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! The first thing you’ll want to know is that you don’t need to wear the 3D glasses the whole time — in fact, the show will tell you when to put them on, and we actually really liked that it wasn’t necessary to wear them during the entire show. It also wasn’t a 3D-heavy show, which we enjoyed. There were 3D elements to the show, but again, you won’t need those glasses on every second. It’s not like things are jumping out at you the entire time. They’ll tell you when to put on the glasses! When it comes to the actual effects from the show, you do get splashed with water and feel a burst of air, and depending on where you sit, you might get blasted pretty good, so be prepared for that. There’s only one time when you feel something move under your seat, and it’s more like a massage ball effect — nothing unpleasant (when a character gets captured on the flying contraption, that’s when it’s coming!). Celebrating Zoogether Day! There is also a smoke effect in the show, so if you’re sensitive or adverse to such effects, we recommend avoiding the middle left side of the theater. Bubbles are also used during the show on both sides of the theater. With that, we’ve covered all of the 4D effects! We should also point out that the context in which these effects are used is WAY less menacing and scary than in It’s Tough to Be a Bug. It seems like Disney did NOT want you to leave terrified this time. Are you looking forward to this new show? We also have to really quickly shout out the Clawhauser animatronic, which looks amazing! He moves seamlessly and is clearly framed as the star of the show. We think lots of people will enjoy him! Clawhauser! Overall, this show is about nine minutes long, and it’s very cute. We think fans of Zootopia will adore it, and anyone who’s looking to give their legs a little break will appreciate it. We can’t wait for the public to see it in just over a week, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news in the meantime. Stay tuned to DFB! 17. I’ve been visiting Animal Kingdom since it first opened back in 1998 (yes, I was there when everyone still thought “Beastly Kingdom” was totally happening). But I can’t remember a time the park has looked this different. Pandora was huge, sure — but the new Pueblo Esperanza land with three new rides and the Casita Madrigal? It’s changing the entire vibe of Animal Kingdom. And depending on how nostalgic you are for DinoLand, it might sting a little. Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Disney World is currently hard at work on the brand-new Tropical Americas land, and there’s a brand-new show opening. But that means some familiar favorites are going extinct — literally. Let’s talk about what’s closed in Animal Kingdom right now. TriceraTop Spin The dino spinner, TriceraTop Spin, took its final flight in January 2025, and Disney has already started clearing the area for something new — a carousel inspired by the colorful cultures of Central and South America. TriceraTop Spin Think bright patterns, tropical animals, and music that makes you want to dance in line (which, knowing Disney, you probably will). The new carousel will anchor the Tropical Americas section — an area that celebrates both the natural beauty and the legends of the region. No word yet on when it’ll open, but the concept art looks gorgeous. Pueblo Esperanza Carousel Concept Art ©Disney If your kiddos are missing that spinning fun, you can still get your fix over at Magic Kingdom on Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, or Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Meanwhile, Na’vi River Journey and Kilimanjaro Safaris still deliver plenty of family-friendly adventure right here at Animal Kingdom. A giraffe on Kilimanjaro Safaris It’s Tough to Be a Bug After more than 25 years, It’s Tough to Be a Bug officially crawled out of the Tree of Life for good. (We’ll miss you, Flik — kind of. That “stinger” moment was never for the faint of heart.) Bye, Flik! But Disney isn’t leaving that theater empty for long. Coming November 7th, the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show will debut, bringing Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and all your favorite residents of Zootopia to the park in an all-new 3D experience. Expect cutting-edge visuals, a message about teamwork, and probably some sly humor for the grown-ups. “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” ©Disney If you need more family-friendly entertainment at Animal Kingdom, go catch Festival of the Lion King — it’s high energy, it’s indoors (bless that air conditioning), and it’s one of the best live shows in all of Disney World. Festival of the Lion King More Ride Closures Kali River Rapids is taking its annual fall break for maintenance until December 2025, so if you’re hoping to get soaked, you’ll have to wait a bit. In the meantime, Expedition Everest will still give you your adrenaline fix — minus the poncho. And if you need a splash elsewhere, you can find it at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. Kali River Rapids And yes, DINOSAUR is still running… for now. It’s scheduled to close on February 2, 2026, to make way for an Indiana Jones–themed adventure. So if you want to shout “We’re not gonna make it!” one last time, make that ride a priority before it’s gone. Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom You may be familiar with the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction in Disneyland, but the Indiana Jones ride in Animal Kingdom will feature a brand-new story. As described by Disney, the attraction will follow “the man with the hat” during a time when he has “recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.” ©Disney Animal Kingdom is in full transformation mode, and it’s wild to see. We’re saying goodbye to some old favorites, but what’s coming next looks incredible. 18. If you’ve planned a Disney World vacation lately, you already know that every dollar counts. As a mom of 2, I know how important it can be to save money on your Disney trip, because things can add up fast. Magic Kingdom Between park tickets, resort stays, dining reservations, and those adorable souvenirs you just have to have, costs can really pile up. That’s why it’s worth taking a closer look at one of the biggest add-ons guests often purchase without a second thought. It might sound like a “must-have” for a magical trip, but skipping it could actually save you a surprising amount of money and even a little stress. So, what exactly are we talking about? The Park Hopper option lets guests visit more than one Disney World park per day. For example, you could start your morning in Magic Kingdom, grab lunch in EPCOT, and end the night watching Fantasmic! in Hollywood Studios. It’s flexible and fun, but that flexibility comes at a price. Adding the Park Hopper to your ticket costs about $70 extra per person per day, which can really add up for families or longer vacations. So let’s see if it’s really worth the cost. You also have to add them on for your entire trip if you do it in one transaction. If you want Park Hoppers for some days and not others, you’ll need to buy them in separate transactions. However, keep in mind that it’s cheaper to buy more tickets in one transaction, as the cost per day decreases. Scanning in! While Park Hopper tickets can sound tempting, not everyone needs them. Families with small children often find it easier to stick to one park per day. It can mean less rushing, fewer meltdowns, and more time to enjoy the attractions at their own pace. If your group has lots of dining reservations, especially table-service meals, you might also find it hard to fit in multiple parks. Sit-down meals can easily take an hour or more once you factor in check-in, ordering, and dining time, and that can cut into your time to ride attractions. Guests who like to explore every corner of a park or enjoy slower days (hello, midday break) usually get more value from a standard one-park-per-day ticket. Disney World Theme Park Tickets That said, Park Hopping isn’t without its perks. It can be a great option for short trips when you want to hit the highlights of multiple parks in just a few days. If you’re a Disney pro who knows the layout and transportation system like the back of your hand. In that case, hopping lets you pack in more experiences, such as starting your day with Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom and ending it with the Happily Ever After fireworks in Magic Kingdom. For guests who like to maximize every minute, it can make a trip feel extra exciting. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Still, there are definite advantages to spending your entire day in one park. You’ll save valuable time by avoiding the transportation shuffle between parks, which can easily eat up an hour or more, especially if you’re relying on Disney transportation. Staying put means you can slow down, enjoy the atmosphere, and discover hidden gems that are easy to miss when you’re racing around the resort. The downside? You’re limited to one park’s offerings for the day, but with so much to do in each one, that’s rarely a bad thing. Disney World Bus At the end of the day, skipping the Park Hopper could save you $70 per person, per day, without taking away from the magic. For many guests, that money could easily cover a fun sit-down meal, a few iconic snacks, or even give you more souvenir shopping money. A full spread from the Food and Wine Classic! The atmosphere is unmatched. You can sign up for classes on wine blending, pasta making, sushi and sake, cheese pairing, and even craft cocktails. Some of these experiences include additional food and beverage pairings — so it’s like getting a behind-the-scenes culinary workshop from the pros. Pastry Chef Arnis Robeznieks Each night also features live entertainment, making it feel like a true festival under the stars. 22. If you or your kiddos were planning to watch Disney-owned channels, there has been an issue with streaming. Disney has disappeared from YouTube TV! ©YouTube TV According to CNN Business, Disney and YouTube TV failed to reach an agreement before their deadline. The blackout means YouTube TV subscribers won’t be able to watch content from any Disney networks, including ESPN, ABC, Disney Channel, FX, National Geographic, and Freeform. Disney and YouTube TV were meant to reach a new carriage agreement before October 30th, 2025. The companies have confirmed they are still in talks to reach an agreement; however, it is unclear when that will be. ©Disney In a statement to CNN, a Disney representative said, “Unfortunately, Google’s YouTube TV has chosen to deny their subscribers the content they value most by refusing to pay fair rates for our channels, including ESPN and ABC.” They continued to say, “Without a new agreement in place, their subscribers will not have access to our programming, which includes the best lineup in live sports — anchored by the NFL, NBA, and college football, with 13 of the top 25 college teams playing this weekend.” ©ESPN In their own statement, YouTube shared, “Last week Disney used the threat of a blackout on YouTube TV as a negotiating tactic to force deal terms that would raise prices on our customers. They’re now following through on that threat, suspending their content on YouTube TV. This decision directly harms our subscribers while benefiting their own live TV products, including Hulu + Live TV and Fubo.“ ©YouTube TV YouTube continued to share that they know this is “frustrating and disappointing” while urging Disney to work “constructively” with the company. They also shared that if Disney’s content remains off of YouTube TV, they will offer their subscribers a $20 credit. ©FX Both networks have been warning subscribers about the possible blackout for the week leading up to the cutoff. Disney told CNN, “We invest significantly in our content and expect our partners to pay fair rates that recognize that value.” While this is frustrating for YouTube TV subscribers, Disney content can still be streamed on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. ©Disney While we are sure the companies will eventually reach an agreement, it’s clear both seem to be standing firm as of October 31st. We’re eager to see how the companies move forward as they reach a new agreement. We will be keeping all football fans in our thoughts as they struggle through the weekend! You may even know that this airport is VERY busy, and can report some major delays if there’s a staffing shortage. Orlando International Airport Now, it’s common for delays to occasionally happen, sometimes due to weather, or sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances. However, the Orlando International Airport is now confirming that flights have been delayed due to “staffing-related challenges.” On October 30th, Orlando International Airport posted an operational update to social media stating that the airport is experiencing flight delays due to “staffing-related challenges” as a result of the current government shutdown.
