Okay, so you’re going to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and thanks to all the construction and the pending closure of Dinosaur, you might think you’ll run out of things to do in that park before the day is over. And, yeah, we’ll admit that the construction there can throw a wrench in your plans. Especially when your family is getting restless and your sense of direction is all thrown off thanks to the construction walls. ©Disney BUT…there will be some NEW things coming to Animal Kingdom VERY soon, so you’ll have a new reason to visit the park, especially if you love Zootopia. That’s because the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether show is debuting soon, and you’ll even have a chance to meet some of the stars of that attraction! On November 7th, Zootopia: Better Zoogether will make its big debut in the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom. The new show will be presented in 4D “Carrot Vision” and begins when you arrive at the Tree of Life, just in time for the Zoogether Day festivities. You’ll see some familiar faces, of course, and one, Officer Clawhauser, is getting his own animatronic. Clawhauser animatronic ©Disney There will be plenty of entertainment from Zootopia’s residents, including polar bear ice skating, and a finale performance by Gazelle herself via a livestream watch party. ©Disney Once you’ve seen the show, make sure to take some time to meet two of its stars, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps. You’ll find them near the Tree of Life on Discovery Island at the Zoogether Day Gathering Spot. Now, Disney hasn’t specified EXACTLY where they’ll be just yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we know! ©Disney So mark your calendars because Zootopia is coming to Animal Kingdom in a BIG way. Goodbye to It’s Tough to Be a Bug (many fans will NOT miss that attraction), and hello to the residents of Zootopia! It’s Tough to be A Bug! Stay tuned to DFB for more. Do you hear sleigh bells? That’s the sound of the holidays coming to Disney World SO very soon! Now, one of the BEST parts of the holiday season is seeing the Magical Christmas Day Parade in Magic Kingdom on our TVs on Christmas Day, but if you’re lucky, you may even get to see it IN PERSON, if you know when they film it (no, it’s not on Christmas). Julianne Hough in 2023 filming the parade Well, we might just have an idea of when that parade will be filmed based on a huge schedule change we just noticed on the Disney World website. So we were looking at the Disney World website and checking times for the Festival of Fantasy parade, which is the regular daytime parade in Magic Kingdom. Except we noticed that there were no parades listed for two dates: November 8th and 9th. Yes, that’s peculiar. ©Disney Or maybe it’s not so peculiar. This is happening around the time of year when we generally see filming for the Christmas Parade you end up seeing on TV on December 25th. Now, we don’t have confirmation that these dates will be when that parade is filmed, but we think this is a good explanation for why the regular parade seems to be canceled on those dates. Filming preparation in 2024 So if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom on one of those two dates, you might be in for a real treat. That means you might see some celebrities in Magic Kingdom, and you’ll get to see Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime parade, along with some extra entertainment during filming. Once Upon a Christmastime Parade We will warn you, though, that you may not be able to see the filmed parade from Main Street on those dates — last year, Main Street was blocked off for Cast Members who had signed up to be part of the filming. That could change this year, but you might not get to see the parade coming up the street with Cinderella Castle behind it. However, you should be able to view it along the rest of the normal parade route. Elsa in Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade So keep that in mind if you’ll be visiting during those dates. Again, Disney has not confirmed that this is when the Christmas parade will be filmed, but it’s something to keep an eye out for. You KNOW we’ll be there to check things out. Stay tuned to DFB for more. One of Our Favorite Holiday Light Displays Is Back Near Disney World – Here’s How You Can See It! Millennials will forever remember the days of layering tank-tops, zebra-striped Homecoming dresses, and platform Steve Maddens. We wore our Aeropostale, shell necklaces, and proudly rocked our flip phones. DFB Breea is a proud Millennial who LOVES Disney There were so many quintessential Millennial trends that were a huge part of our lives growing up. Nowadays, we’ve traded our T-9 keyboards on our flip phones for iMessage on our iPhones, stopped wearing 2+ tank-tops at once, and swapped out chunky necklaces for more dainty alternatives. But there are some Millennial Disney trends that we will never let die, but apparently, they’re no longer cool by Gen Z’s standards. Whatever, you’ll still see us rocking these 5 fads. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Throwing Up the Peace Sign in Photos Is there any other way to pose for photos? We Millennials don’t think so. Gen Z might be making fun of us and saying we’re uncool for doing it, but we’re going to keep doing it anyway. This hat was clearly made for Millennials. So if you see any of us throwing up the peace sign as we’re taking pictures around the parks, don’t come for us. Besides, don’t we all deserve a little more peace in our lives anyway? Collecting Spirit Jerseys Spirit Jerseys have become a Millennial staple for every Disney park. Regardless of what season, holiday, or celebration it is, there’s a Spirit Jersey for it. ©DisneyStore Our closets are full of these baggy, long-sleeved tees, and they’re not just for the parks. You’ll likely catch us lounging in them around the house or wearing them on a Target run. Gen Z might not care for them the way we Millennials do, but Disney knows we’re going to keep buying them. View on Amazon Wearing LOUD Pairs of Ears (Because We Don’t Believe in Subtle) The new styles and trends are far more subtle and low-key. Neutrals are in, and you’ll likely spot a Gen Z person wearing a pair of simple, black Mickey ears that go with every outfit. via Kylie Jenner on Instagram But that’s definitely not who we Millennials are. Our kids, nieces, and nephews are probably making fun of us, but we’re wearing the LOUD Donald Duck headband anyway. DFB Breea loves her Donald Duck feet “ears” If we can’t be silly in Disney World, then where can we be? Disney parks are where we go to be kids again (perhaps we all need therapy, but that’s okay). So, yes, you will see us in these blinged out Donald Duck ears… ©Disney Store View on Disney Store …or the fuzzy Lotso ears. Lotso Ears View on Disney Store And you know these Alien ears are calling to every Millennial’s inner child. Toy Story was a staple of our childhood, and the Aliens were the best comic relief this century has seen. ©DisneyStore So no, we will not stop wearing our adorably silly ears to Disney World. View on Amazon Wear Not-So-Subtle Disney Shirts (Seriously, We’re Not Good at Subtle) The not-so-stubtle style Millennials have does not end with our headband ears. We are the ones wearing glaringly obvious Disney shirts that scream, “I’m a Disney Adult!” For example, this Winnie the Pooh and Piglet tee is a prime example of what I would wear to the parks. ©DisneyStore A shirt that says “I need Space.” (Space Mountain) just isn’t going to cut it for Millennials. We need a shirt that says, “I NEED SPACE MOUNTAIN,” in all caps, too. View on Disney Store Focus On the FOOD (Because Food IS Theme Park) When Millennials go to the Disney parks, we go for the food. Sure, the rides are great and all, but that new EPCOT festival menu that just dropped is our actual to-do list for Disney World. French onion soup style dumplings at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Take a look at our Instagram and you’ll see lots and lots of Disney food pictures and not much of anything else. The rides rarely change, but the food is different every trip. Catch Millennials trying every single new snack and leaving the rides for Gen Z to enjoy. Sticky Toffee Pudding at Rose and Crown Pub Gen Z might find these trends “cringe,” but we’re Millennials, and we’re not gonna stop. Disney is a place for everyone to enjoy and express themselves! So if you’re a Millennial, you do you. For more Disney fun, keep following DFB! At Cotino – the first Storyliving by Disney community located in Rancho Mirage, California – Walt Disney Imagineers have helped to bring the iconic home of Pixar’s mightiest super family to life! With inspiration taken straight from Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2, the Parr House will serve as a one-of-a-kind amenity for members of the voluntary Artisan Club at Cotino community. Beyond just admiring the house’s remarkable exterior, club members can use the Parr House to celebrate milestones, host special events or even an overnight stay (for an additional fee). As we celebrate the official opening of the Artisan Club, we wanted to take you behind-the-scenes and dive into some of the special details added by Imagineers that make this home truly incredible. A Dash of Inspiration When Artisan Club members visit Parr House, they feel as if they are stepping into the world of the Incredibles. From the impressive rockwork fireplace to the classic yellow laminate of the kitchen cabinets, Imagineers used inspiration from the animated home while still designing a fully functional space for members to enjoy. “Parr House is a caricature of mid-century modern architecture,” said Caleb Wild, Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Architect. “Our goal was to exaggerate that aesthetic in a way that told an overtly Disney story while still fitting stylistically within the community.” To make the experience even more magical, Imagineers collaborated with Pixar to produce props that layer in special details from the film. Here’s a look at our favorite Easter eggs: Cereal Boxes – Kitchen They might look like delicious snacks, but these aren’t your average cereal boxes— Fiber O’s and Sugar Bombs are breakfast cereals eaten by the Parr family in the film! Parr Family Bulletin Board – Kitchen With a keen eye, you may notice some special details and nods to the film on the family’s bulletin board located just outside the kitchen. Whether it’s Dash’s track meet, Jack Jack’s doctor appointment, or Bob and Helen’s date night with Lucius and Honey, the calendar provides a snapshot into the daily lives of the Parrs. The events scribbled on the calendar are even written in either Bob or Helen’s handwriting! The team was able to recreate their penmanship through close study of both “Incredibles” films. Below the calendar is a collection of themed memorabilia, including a flyer for The Happy Platter – the restaurant where Violet’s unforgettable water mishap occurs. To the right are two postcards, including from the Safari Motel where the Parrs spent some time after their house was destroyed by a vengeful Syndrome. Another card is from Nomanisan Island where the Parr family first fought against Syndrome’s evil bots and henchmen. “Mr. Incredible Sings” – Art Studio In the home’s art studio, designed to celebrate the overall theme of Cotino as a creative oasis, visitors will find a framed vinyl record titled “Mr. Incredible Sings.” Featured in the first film, this album draws attention to the creative inspiration of the room, as well as a special nod to one of Bob’s many abilities. Complete with custom art pieces and specially chosen wall coverings, the design choices of the space reflect Helen and Bob’s characters. Doozles are Dozing – Jack -Jack’s Room Throughout the time that Jack -Jack discovers his powers, you may remember a certain bedtime story that actually put Bob to sleep. Visitors will find a copy of the “Doozles are Dozing” children’s book on one of the shelves in a guest bedroom. New Math for Life – Dash’s Room A book that haunts every parent’s nightmares (especially Bob’s!) – a math textbook. Brought to life from another incredibly memorable scene, Dash’s “New Math for Life” textbook can be found in the second guest room. Don’t worry, members won’t be subject to a grueling tutoring session like the one between Bob and Dash… “Math is math!” Framed Magazine Covers – Auntie Edna’s Room Now really, who could forget about Edna Mode!? “When we were creating the list of props, we were really inspired by what character would inspire each room,” said Lorenzo Salazar, Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Interior Designer. “For Edna, we ended up with these really great magazine covers we thought she would have framed. Of course ones that featured her, wrote an article about her and painted her in a fantastic light.” Located in the hallway just outside Edna’s suite, guests can view these stunning magazine covers that feature some of Edna’s greatest designs (with no capes, of course!). We are so excited to celebrate the latest milestone for Cotino and this special nod to Pixar’s mightiest family of Supers. “I think all of our Disney touches throughout the Artisan Club, and especially the Parr House, really elevate the inspiration that I hope people will feel when they’re at Cotino,” Salazar said. “I think we’ve created a place that celebrates not only the Disney legacy, but the legacy of the desert and of the greater Palm Springs area.” To stay up to date on the latest development updates on Cotino, check out The Blueprint on the Disney Parks Blog. We know we weren’t the only ones who were devastated when Disney revealed that Muppets Courtyard would be going away forever at Hollywood Studios. But the more we learn about the new Monsters, Inc. land that will be replacing The Muppets, our hearts heal just a little bit more. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Earlier in June, Disney filed documents that revealed roughly where the show building would be for the new Monsters, Inc. indoor roller coaster that’s coming to this land — but, newly filed documents have now revealed a bit more about what that show building will look like. Newly filed documents released by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District reveal a bit more detail about the new Monsters, Inc. land being built at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While Disney hasn’t confirmed this officially, documents appear to indicate that the filing for “Project L” aligns with the Monstropolis takeover. In the documents, it is noted that “electrical infrastructure is required to facilitate the provision of electric service,” and that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc. (WDPR) “will design, permit, and construct the portion of the utility project at its sole expense.” ©bioreconstruct on X Essentially, the new filings partially outline some electrical work that needs to be done for Project L to come to fruition. We know, we know — super exciting. But, that’s not the exciting part. New maps were included with these documents, and they seem to reveal a bit more detail about the show building for the indoor Monsters, Inc. suspended roller coaster. ©Disney We already knew that Disney was expanding into the Cast Member parking lot located behind the land to build this structure, and previously released maps gave us an idea of just how massive this building is going to be — approximately 365 feet by 330 feet, giving it a total size of around 103,000 square feet. But, all we had was an approximate outline of the building. The new maps are faint, but it looks like there is a faint outline — with more detail — of what the show building might look like for the roller coaster. ©Central Florida Tourism Oversight District It’s faintly overlaid on top of the existing Cast Member parking lot, which is a zoomed-in version of this map: ©Central Florida Tourism Oversight District …which matches up with this map of Hollywood Studios from Google. You can see the similar buildings in the bottom right corner of this map and the previous photo: ©Google Maps Since Disney already confirmed the location of the new show building, we’re pretty confident that this is what Project L is referring to. Monsters, Inc. Coaster Model Keep in mind that Disney hasn’t officially confirmed that Project L has anything to do with the upcoming Monsters, Inc. Land, but from what we’re seeing on the maps in the documents filed, it looks like things match up with where it was previously confirmed that the Monsters Inc. coaster show building would be. We’ll be on the lookout for more updates about the new Monstropolis and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! Tropical Storm Melissa is expected to turn into a major hurricane soon. ©WESH The tropical storm is drifting east-southeastward and is being closely monitored as it develops. The storm is expected to cause catastrophic flooding and major landslides. According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Melissa is expected to be catastrophic and life-threatening. The most recent update was sent out at 8 AM on October 24th, 2025. ©NHC The life-threatening conditions are located in portions of Southern Hispaniola and Jamaica and will last throughout the weekend. The NHC also said the storm is roughly 165 miles south-southeast of Kingston, Jamaica. For anyone in Jamaica and Haiti, the NHC advises “preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion.” ©WESH For the remainder of Hispaniola and Cuba, heavy rainfall could also create life-threatening situations. The advisement encourages people in these areas to closely monitor Tropical Storm Melissa because the “heavy rainfall, damaging winds, and storm surge appear to be increasing.” Be prepared for storms! Currently, the storm is essentially stalled and only moving at 1 mile per hour, per the most recent update. It’s expected to continue to drift throughout tonight and tomorrow. It’s expected to begin drifting westward on Saturday and continue through Monday. The NHC predicts the storm will approach Jamaica and parts of Haiti early next week. ©NHC Tropical Storm Melissa is expected to become a hurricane on Saturday, October 25th, and a major hurricane by October 26th. The NHC predicts it will be a Category 4 storm. Hurricane season lasts from June 1st until November 30th, so we still have roughly a month to go until the worst of the season is over. Storms are no joke! Meteorologist Dennis Philips with Tampa Bay 28 urged people to avoid Jamaica if at all possible. In a post online, he wrote, “I rarely say this, but if you have plans to travel to Jamaica this weekend, don’t. If you are in Jamaica and are planning on riding it out, try to leave early. If you have reservations for next week, they will probably be canceled. Slow-moving storms can be fickle, so maybe things will change, but it’s not worth the chance.” Hurricane skies Hurricane season lasts from June 1st until November 30th, so we still have roughly a month to go until the worst of the season is over. Be cautious, even after the storm has passed, it is predicted that the area will be devastated and will see issues due to the damage for a while afterward. The Department of Homeland Security offers several ways to prepare for hurricanes. First, it’s important to know you’re area of risk. If you are in a risky area, develop an evacuation plan if possible. Storms can hit out of nowhere! Ensure you have a disaster kit ready! They encourage you to have enough for you, your entire family, and your pets. This would include items like medication, important documents, water, food, a hand crank or battery-powered radio, a first aid kit, and more. You can see the full suggestion list here. First Aid Kit These are just the first few steps when it comes to being prepared for hurricanes. We are thinking of everyone being impacted by the storms throughout the next week. As always, be sure to follow DFB for more weather, news, and updates. Trying to decide where to eat in Disney World is not easy, because you’ve got a TON of options. If you want something quick and easy, you’re covered, or if you want to eat one of the fanciest meals out there, Disney’s got you covered on that front, too. Who’s ready for some delicious eats? We recently stopped by Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs to check out some of their NEW menu items, as well as some of their staples, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to Disney Springs? Let’s find out together! Atmosphere This restaurant is located in The Landing at Disney Springs, right behind Morimoto Asia, which means that the best parking garage to be closest to the restaurant is the Orange Garage. While there’s lots of seating inside in the restaurant’s three different rooms, you’ll also notice that outdoor seating is available, right near the outdoor Moonshine Bar. Homecomin’ The food here has a Southern comfort food vibe to it, and the decor matches it! You’ll find lots of wood details in both the interior and exterior, and it overall makes you feel like you’re at an old Southern restaurant in the best way possible — like maybe the waitress will refer to you as “sweetheart” and you’ll have the best biscuits you’ve ever had. Inside Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu here is full of Southern comfort favorites. The restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner (Breakfast and brunch are the hardest reservations to grab!), but one of the most iconic menu items at any time of day is Moonshine. Their “Shine on Tap” comes with quite a few options to choose from, and you can also order a number of cocktails with the beverage in it. There’s also a flight with all five Shines on Tap flavors for you to enjoy. Drinks! If you choose to start with some appetizers, you can try the Church Lady Deviled Eggs or the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits, as well as the Spicy Cauliflower Wings and Fried Pickles. The Salads & Such section has a Fried Chicken Salad, a Chopped BLT Salad, Addie Mae’s Chicken & Dumpling Soup, and the 1981 Salad. Homecomin’ Menu For Buns & Such, you can order a Fried Chicken Sandwich, Meatloaf Sandwich, The Art Burger, Cuban Sandwich, Art’s Hot Chicken Sandwich, Catfish Sandwich, or The Country Club. Then it’s onto the Main Plates! Options here include Art’s Famous Fried Chicken, Meatloaf Main Plate, Smothered Chicken, Skillet-fried Chicken Paillard, Fried Chicken & Doughnuts, Shrimp & Grits, Country Fried Steak, the Kitchen Plate, Chargrilled Chicken, and the St. Augustine Mahi-Mahi. We love this menu! There are also numerous sides to choose from, such as Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuits, Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Southern Slaw, Green Beans, and more. Desserts here are also fantastic, featuring Hummingbird Cake, Shine Cake, Chocolate Pecan Pie, Hot Fudge Bourbon Brownie, Everglazed Doughnuts, or the Signature Sampler. Homecomin’ Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats There was a LOT to eat here, but we weren’t complaining! We started out with the Church Lady Deviled Eggs for $14, which are Southern-style deviled eggs. These had a great tang to the yolk of the eggs, and the eggshells had that great rubbery texture that is iconic to deviled eggs, but were also easy to bite through. Church Lady Deviled Eggs We also loved the crispy, yet chewy, and almost sweet piece of bacon and the sprinkle of paprika on top. We also really appreciate that there aren’t any extra fillings in the egg yolk, so it’s a very simple, straightforward appetizer done very well. Not to mention, the price is great for the serving size as well, and eating these as an appetizer won’t leave you feeling too weighed down. Delicious! We also got a half order of the Bunch of Puppies, but a full portion will cost you $15. These are House-made hushpuppies served with pimento cheese and red jalapeño jelly, and these are very well done hush puppies. They’re pretty standard, but pairing them with the Pimento Cheese Spread added a great creamy texture to them. While that dipping sauce isn’t too hot, the Red Pepper Jelly does have more of a kick! Bunch of Puppies The heat from this jelly stays in the front of your mouth and won’t linger, so it’s not too intense. The hush puppies themselves were nice and crispy on the outside while being soft and fluffy inside. If you know you love hush puppies, this is a great choice. Great hush puppies! Our next appetizer was the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits for $20, which is three biscuits topped with Chef Art’s famous fried chicken thighs and bread and butter pickles. It’s all drizzled with hot honey. We opted for light meat on ours, but you can get it with dark meat as well. Thigh High Chicken Biscuits These are BIG and filling, so we honestly recommend getting them as an entree, or splitting them with at least one other person in your party if you want to save room for the rest of your meal. The hot honey here isn’t too intense, but if you’re super sensitive to spice, it’s something to be aware of. The biscuits are the same cheddar biscuits we know and love, and the chicken was nice and crispy while also being tender. These are popular for a reason! Moving onto the entrees, we got the NEW Meatloaf Main Plate for $30, which is House-made meatloaf served with creamy mashed potatoes, Southern green beans, and a cheddar drop biscuit. This was a pretty standard, run-of-the-mill meatloaf, but we wouldn’t choose it over any of the chicken options here, since chicken is what this restaurant is really known for. Meatloaf Main Plate We did enjoy that there was a chunkier ketchup with more additives like onions on the side, to add on if you’d like. We weren’t disappointed, per se, but it’s not one we would personally get again. A cut of meatloaf Our other entree was the NEW Smothered Chicken for $32, which is Chef Art’s famous fried chicken thigh atop creamy mashed potatoes and sauteed broccolini, smothered in house-made onion gravy and topped with crispy bacon. Smothered Chicken This was MASSIVE and basically had a taste of everything on the menu! The chicken itself is HUGE, and again, we opted for light meat, but you can request dark meat instead, and we genuinely feel you could split this meal up to four ways. The Broccolini had a great taste to it with crunchy stalks, and the Mashed Potatoes were buttery and soft, but the cheese and bacon bits on top really took it over the top. We loved these mashed potatoes! Overall, we can’t recommend sharing this meal enough — if you conquer this all by yourself, you deserve a medal of some kind. Drinks To drink, we picked up the White Peach Sangria for $16, which is Peach moonshine, La Perlina Moscato, and fresh peach puree muddled with orange and mango. Garnished with a moonshine-soaked peach wedge. While our reporter likes sangria, this was very tangy and didn’t taste like a typical sangria. The peaches were also soaked before they were put in the drink, which we felt was just a little too overwhelming. We don’t think we’d get this one again. White Peach Sangria Our other drink was The Honey Bee for $16, which is a NEW drink on the menu. This is Tom Cat Gin, honey syrup, and fresh-squeezed lemon—topped with house-made honey foam. This tasted like a whiskey sour with a honey undertone, especially thanks to the piece of honeycomb sitting at the bottom. The Honey Bee However, if you’re adverse to textures, be aware that the honeycomb does begin to break apart a bit at the end of the drink, so you may get some of those waxy bits in your mouth, and it could catch you off guard. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are looking for some seriously good chicken and drinks. There’s a reason reservations for this spot are hard to come by — the food is simply incredible and hands-down some of the best in Disney Springs. You’re a big fan of moonshine and want drinks that you aren’t going to find everywhere in the parks. You want a heavy meal that will keep you full for quite some time. You may feel like you need a nap after eating here, but hey, all that Disney walking will have you feeling better in no time. You should skip this Disney World spot if… If you are looking for something light, you might have a hard time finding something here. This really is a place filled with large serving sizes and a whole lot of carbs. Chicken really is the standout on the menu here. There are vegetarian options, but they mostly consist of carbs, so if that’s not what you’re hoping for, this might not be the restaurant for you! You won’t be in Disney Springs. Now, quite a few of us on the team think that Homecomin’ is worth a trip to Disney Springs. But if you’re really only looking to stay in the parks, you might not want to venture out for a meal — although, like I said, we think this spot is worth it! Overall We’re a big fan of this restaurant overall, but we do see why their breakfast and brunch offerings are most popular. It’s often those items on the menu that stand out above the rest, so if you can, snag a reservation for either of those meals before lunch or dinner (unless you’re not a breakfast person, of course). Homecomin’ We’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! If you saw my closet, you would be shocked by how many Disney World souvenirs I have hanging up. Next to my Taylor Swift cardigan collection (hey, I have priorities), I have buckets of Mickey ears, far too many Disney World sweatshirts for someone who lives in Florida, and baseball hats for every single park and niche occasion. ©Disney Disney just showed us a preview of a new outdoor themed collection, and I feel like I’m back in summer camp after seeing all the pieces! Meet the brand-new Expedition Mickey Mouse collection, which was created with Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse since 2009. The collection will launch as a special event at Disney Springs in Disney World on November 1st, but this preview gives us a look into why Disney designed this collection and what hidden details to look for. ©Disney Iwan says, “This is the very first collection where it’s entirely my vision. I did all of the artwork, but I was also involved in making decisions about the color, fabric, textures, stitching, and overall construction.” ©Disney He takes his role as Mickey Mouse very seriously. He knows Mickey’s entire history and legacy, what he would and wouldn’t say, and even how he thinks. He wanted to bring that mindset into the collection, where he was aware of the many details that make something iconic. ©Disney Iwan himself is a huge fan of National Parks and outdoor living. He mostly wears boots, denim, flannel, and lots of layers, and he brought that idea to the collection. He says the collection consists of pieces he wants for his own closet. ©Disney One of the hidden details he shared was that in the short-sleeved button-down, you can catch glimpses of a few park icons like Big Thunder Mountain, The Matterhorn, and Everest. ©Disney The entire collection was created specifically for Disney Parks, and Iwan spoke about how he wanted the feeling of an immersive experience and how “this collection adds one more layer to someone’s visit. One more layer to their park’s story.” ©Disney Don’t forget to check out the collection at Disney Springs on November 1st for the launch and a special Artist Showcase with Bret Iwan. Trying to figure out which Disney World snacks are worth your time is like trying to figure out which of your kids is your favorite. Okay, okay, it’s probably slightly easier than that (and we do not recommend picking a favorite child, for what it’s worth). Vivoli il Gelato Luckily, that’s what we’re here for at DFB! We are the Disney FOOD Blog, after all. Right now, pistachios are having a huge moment in the snack world, and that trend has made its way to Disney World. Come with us to review a new pistachio treat at Disney Springs! We stopped by Vivoli il Gelato at Disney Springs to check out the new Pistachio Gelato Croissant, which you can pick up for $10.75. This is a buttery croissant filled with Pistachio Gelato made from Italian Bronte pistachios, drizzled with pistachio cream, and topped with crushed pistachios. Pistachios are having a moment right now, and it’s easy to see why. Pistachio Gelato Croissant This was such an interesting treat! The croissant was flaky and baked well, and the gelato was, of course, super creamy and soft. The gelato has a pretty strong taste of pistachio, so this is definitely a treat for pistachio lovers — if you’re on the fence, we’d probably choose something else. There are about three scoops of the gelato in there, so there’s plenty to share. The gelato was a bit icier than we’re used to with ice cream, but it was still nice and smooth. It was also MUCH easier to eat than we thought it would be. The bottom was soaked with ice cream by the time we finished taking photos, but the treat was easy to dig your spoon in and get everything you needed to. We weren’t huge fans of the green pistachio sauce on top — it was a bit on the artificial side and was very, very strong. But we appreciated the crunch of the crushed pistachios on top. All combined together, though, this was a really unique and tasty treat. This thing was STUFFED with pistachio gelato We’ll be on the lookout for more fun pistachio desserts you need to check out at Disney World and beyond. It’s almost 2026, and while we’re looking forward to all the new additions and excitement on the way for the new year, we also have to be honest and admit that there ARE some things we’d love to see changed in the parks this upcoming year. Hollywood Studios Entrance It goes without saying that in 2026, we’d love for Disney to change the annual price increases that consistently happen and kick us in the butt each year, but let’s be honest, we don’t necessarily foresee that happening. So here are the other things we’re REALLY hoping Disney changes in 2026 that perhaps are a little more realistic (although Disney, if you’re listening, PLEASE pause the price increases and prove us wrong). No More Pushed Opening Dates While our team is a little divided on whether or not we’re excited about the new Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, we’re ALL in agreement that if Disney pushes this reopening timeline, we’ll be mad. ©Disney Here’s the thing — while we don’t know exactly when the current version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is set to close in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney has confirmed that the ride will be open through 2025. That’s fantastic for those who have trips this year and don’t want to miss out on saying farewell to the attraction. But when we realize that Disney ALSO told us that the new version of the ride will be opening in Summer 2026…that is NOT a lot of time. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster This is especially true considering the fact that it’s not only the exterior of the ride being refurbished, it’s the ENTIRE inside too. The theming is totally changing from Aerosmith to the Muppets, and we know a new animatronic is on the way (Disney even teased there may be MORE than one). While we don’t know how much the ride’s interior design is set to change (since most of it is just signage taking you to the concert, it’s possible it COULD stay mostly the same). Bottom line, will Disney ACTUALLY be able to meet this deadline? Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets ©Disney We won’t know until we get there, but we’ll admit that we’re just as annoyed as you all are when you plan a trip around a rough opening timeline or date of an attraction/show, only to see it get pushed. For locals, it’s not as big a deal, but for those who travel in, even if it’s just from a nearby state like Georgia (it’s me, I’m the one who travels from Georgia). That’s a lot of planning that gets shifted around and may not be easy to rebook. We’ve seen Disney push opening dates frequently, especially just recently with the Disney Adventure cruise ship, so we’re crossing our fingers that won’t be the case here. Disney Teases NEW Addition Coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026 More Roaming Characters One of the aspects we always love about Disneyland is just how many roaming characters you can often find around the park, especially in Fantasyland! Disney World has started to follow this a bit, as we’ve recently seen Captain Hook and Smee, Peter Pan and Wendy, as well as a few more surprising characters walking around. And while we love it, we have to say now that we totally think there could be more. Captain Hook and Smee roaming! With all the construction happening in Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom right now, we think the least Disney could add is some more roaming characters to entertain guests. In either park, we’d love to see some more roaming Villains, to get excitement up for the new Villains Land, as well as encourage people to go see Villains: Unfairly Ever After. Or, perhaps, Disney could bring back the Citizens of Hollywood we miss so much! Hey, Tigger! Roaming characters are a fantastic way for guests to feel like there’s more to do in the parks, and to pull crowds away from long lines to mitigate crowds. While we’re not opposed to seeing more roaming characters in EPCOT and Animal Kingdom as well, especially with the Tropical Americas construction happening in the former Dinoland U.S.A. area, we do feel that Magic Kingdom and DHS would benefit the most (especially since the Disney Jr. meet and greets were just taken away from DHS completely — yikes). Where to Find All the Disney Character Meet-and-Greets in Walt Disney World New Land “Announcements” With No New Information We were SO hoping to get some great new information about the new additions coming to the parks at Destination D23 this past August, but alas, that was not the case. Instead, we got news about how Imagineers are studying specific types of architecture for the new Villains Land…but that was about it. Disney, please, give us SOMETHING! Architecture inspiration for Villains Land presented at Destination D23 2025 We totally understand that Disney can’t tell us what’s happening every step of the way, but ever since Villains Land was announced back in 2024 with concept art, we’ve basically heard nothing else. We’ve gotten some updated information on Piston Peak coming to Magic Kingdom, and a good amount of information on Monstropolis in Hollywood Studios. We could use some more on Tropical Americas/Pueblo Esperanza (like what’s the OFFICIAL name, Disney? Is Pueblo Esperanza INSIDE Tropical Americas?), but we’re really gotten nothing else on Villains Land. Villains Land ©Disney We think we speak for a lot of Disney fans when we say that if there’s really no update to give, Disney, don’t give us one at all, instead of trying to create something out of nothing that we get all excited for, only to find that it’s actually nothing new. We Have NEW UPDATES On Magic Kingdom’s Major Expansion A Smooth Transition into The New and Improved Millennium Falcon We’re thrilled that there will soon be new adventures to explore on Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run in Disney World and Disneyland on May 22nd, 2026, but we’re a little nervous about that timeline, too. At the time of writing, Disney has not announced any closure for this attraction to ready it for the change…so does that mean we’re just going to jump from one adventure into another? Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Now, this isn’t too hard to believe, as you’re piloting the Millennium Falcon yourself, no matter what, so the movement of the ship isn’t as tied to what’s pre-planned in the attraction, since the guests truly are controlling it, but this is still a BIG change that could result in some pretty big bugs. Those could cause closures, longer wait times, etc., which will severely mess up the flow of the park. New missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu. ©Disney It is totally possible that Disney will start testing these new adventures at night with Cast Members and Imagineers when the park is closed, but even then, we’re still a little stressed. While we really don’t want to see ANOTHER closure in this park in 2026, if it means the new adventures would have a smoother opening, perhaps it would be worth it. A lot is happening in Disney World right now, and there is construction pretty much everywhere. Three of Disney World’s four parks are getting new lands (plus a new expansion in Magic Kingdom), while Disney World hotels are getting updated rooms and new lobbies. Construction walls at LEVEL99 Well, not to be left out, there’s some construction happening in Disney Springs, too. We previously learned that LEVEL99 will be moving into the abandoned NBA experience, and we’ve previously seen signs of that coming soon. Well, new construction walls have popped up around the building, so progress seems to be moving right along. Construction walls and hedges have gone up around the building where LEVEL99 will be in Disney Springs. This is a sign that work continues to progress on converting the building into a brand new experience. However, you can still see the sizzle reel playing on the jumbo screen above the building’s entrance. Construction walls You’ll see various graphics on the construction walls to give you an idea of what LEVEL99 is. In case you don’t know, LEVEL99is a destination for “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” for adults with physical and mental challenges. It’s basically a giant arcade and entertainment center where you are actually PART of the game. Games will include duels against other players, cooperative games, and scavenger hunt-like activities called art hunts. LEVEL99 The location in Disney Springs, though, will be the largest location for LEVEL99 and will have over 60 challenge rooms and duels. It will occupy over 45,000 square feet in its two-story space. It will also have dining with a chef-crafted menu, including LEVEL99’s award-winning Detroit-style pizza. Okay, we’re in. Few things are as frustrating as hitting traffic when you’re driving to your vacation destination — especially when that destination is Disney World! Driving to Disney World If you’re heading to the Most Magical Place on Earth this weekend, we’ve got a warning for you! The 2025 runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon is taking place this weekend, and that means there will be some traffic changes and road closures you need to know about. Let’s get into it. The runDisney 2025 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon, part of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, will take place from October 23rd through October 26th, 2025. The Wine and Dine Half Marathon, as well as the Disney’s Wine and Dine 5K, Disney Wine and Dine 10K, and the Disney Two Course Challenge, make up the weekend’s race offerings! ©runDisney These runDisney races bring thousands of participants to Disney World, with racers running through all four theme parks and several roads in the surrounding areas. You can check out the full schedule of race events below: October 23rd — runDisney Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports October 24th — Wine and Dine 5k October 25th — Wine and Dine 10k October 26th — Wine and Dine Half-marathon ©runDisney While the races start early in the morning (with most being finished before the parks even open), you might still experience road closures and traffic changes while these races are going on throughout the weekend. Disney wants to ensure that roads are blocked and safe for runners to complete the course. This will likely occur mainly on October 26th, during the half-marathon. Expect to see Cast Members and signage directing you to alternate routes. ©Disney If you’re staying on Disney World property, using Disney transportation will probably be much easier than using your own vehicle this weekend. Not only that, but as these races draw so many people who normally wouldn’t be at the parks — you can expect some heavier crowds than you might normally anticipate. Consider purchasing Lightning Lanes or visiting at night when all the runners are too exhausted to still be at the parks! ©Disney We’ll be on the lookout for more updates you need to know about when it comes to the Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend and more news from Disney World! Universal is opening up Epic Universe as part of multiday deals, including Florida resident options that could see a three-day ticket among three parks for as low as $303. The new three-, four- and five-day packages available as of Thursday at universalorlando.com are for visits in 2026 that allow for trips to each of Universal Orlando’s theme parks. For the first time, travelers could purchase a multiday ticket that could allow daily visits to Epic Universe. A three-day ticket ranges from $460-$606 for adults. These tickets allow for travelers to move freely among Epic Universe, Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios and Volcano Bay as well as have access to the Hogwarts Express and allow for park hopping on the same day. The four-day adult price range is from $498-$636 with access to all four parks, or $445-$601 for park-hopping tickets minus Volcano Bay. The five-day price range is from $528-$667 for all four parks, or $468-$622 for park-hopping tickets minus Volcano Bay. Some October-December 2026 dates are blocked out for the pricier four-park options, but the ones that don’t include Volcano Bay are bookable for the entire year. There are cheaper multiday options if limiting Epic Universe to just one visit, or if limiting visits to just one park per day without park hopping. The cheapest new option for Florida residents limits travelers to one park per day among Epic Universe, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios without access to Hogwarts Express and no park hopping. The three single-day tickets have to be used within six days of the first day booked. The cheapest option is on Aug. 31, 2026 for just under $101 per day, or $303 total per adult ticket plus tax. A child ticket for kids ages 3-9 is $98 per day. The priciest days are during holidays in December 2026 with base adult price ticket of $148 per day. There are several days in January and February 2026 with a base price of $120-$130, with tickets only climbing over $140 per day the final week of March. Florida resident deals for the rest of 2025 that include one day at Epic Universe are already available, with similar lower price points ranging from $115-$148 if limiting travel to just one park per day . But none of those multiday passes allow for more than one Epic Universe visit until 2026. View the full article

The annual TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) Global Experience Index just released its official report for 2024. The report summarizes data from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), Entertainment + Culture Advisors (ECA), The Park Database (TPDB), and InPark Magazine. Now, we finally have a list of the most visited theme parks worldwide in 2024! While the report includes the most visited theme parks globally, Florida’s own Magic Kingdom Park topped the list. Are you surprised? As theme park reporters ourselves (who travel to major amusement parks all over the world), we’re not surprised. Magic Kingdom In fact, Disney won big in this category, claiming four of the top five most visited theme parks worldwide in 2024. Following Magic Kingdom, the list includes Disneyland Park, Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland. According to the data, Magic Kingdom saw a 0.7% increase in attendance in 2024. The park reported a whopping 17,836,000 visitors in 2024 alone. Magic Kingdom theme park tickets currently range from $139 to $199 per person. ©TEA Report We also got a look at the top 20 U.S. theme parks in 2024. Here, parks like Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Knott’s Berry Farm made the top ten in addition to Disney’s other U.S. theme parks. ©TEA Report In both the global report and the U.S. theme park report, theme park attendance at Disneyland Park was not far behind Magic Kingdom. Disneyland Park boasted 17,337,000 visitors — that’s a 0.5% increase from 2023. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland While the 2025 data has not been released yet, it’s safe to say that The Walt Disney Company is ready to take on more guests. For the past few years, Disney CEO Bob Iger has touted major expansions across its portfolio of theme parks. Iger has repeatedly laid out his four big priorities for The Walt Disney Company, and one of the main goals is “Turbocharging growth in the Experiences business.” (That’s the theme park and cruise division!) With a promised $60 billion set aside for the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products segment of the company, Disney has big plans for the future. Fans have long speculated that part of that $60 billion budget will go towards the MEGA Magic Kingdom park expansion, a new land in Animal Kingdom, an Avatar expansion, and a new land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. ©Disney Now, let’s go back to the TEA Report for a moment. The TEA Global Experience Index was developed in partnership with leading organizations across the field. It was designed to help identify performance, spot opportunities, and anticipate where the dynamic “experience economy” market is headed. Despite consistent year-over-year price increases, theme park fans seem willing to spend their time and money vacationing at Disney theme parks. It will be interesting to see how the numbers compare in 2025. ©TEA Report One important note is that this report was published before the grand opening of Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park in Orlando. We expect the 2025 report to include theme park attendance data from Epic Universe, which may impact the standings of other theme parks around the world. There are no official attendance numbers for Epic Universe yet, but Comcast revealed that Epic Universe was responsible for higher per capita spending at Universal Orlando Resort during its second-quarter earnings call for fiscal year 2025. Celestial Park in Epic Universe Given this new theme park attendance data, it’s no surprise Disney wants to expand the Magic Kingdom. A new Cars Land, called Piston Peak, is in the works, along with a HUGE new Villains Land located “beyond Big Thunder Mountain.” These new lands will bring additional attractions, dining, and shopping opportunities to the Magic Kingdom and could help distribute the crowds more evenly throughout the park. Villains Land ©Disney The Walt Disney Company has a lot on its plate, but if the theme park attendance data continues to trend upward, that $60 billion gamble could pay off big time. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. Why Does Disney CEO Bob Iger Keep Using the T-Word (And What Does It MEAN?!)
