  1. Let’s be honest here, bringing your family members to Disney World is a risky game of roulette that could either end with delightful memories or tears of frustration in front of the castle. Magic Kingdom Traveling with people who do the theme parks differently from you or who live on a contrasting schedule to yours can be tricky. And honestly? That’s often the case when traveling with grandparents. So today, we’re sharing the things our team wishes we knew before going to Disney World with our grandparents. Don’t Be Afraid to Rent Scooters Starting out the list, we’ve got to chat about scooters and ECVs. Don’t be afraid to rent them! Your grandparents may be perfectly healthy, mobile, spry people in their day-to-day lives, but you’ll walk literally tens of thousands of steps during a theme park day in Disney World, and that’s enough to make even the fittest of people sore. ECVs at EPCOT If your grandparents have ever suffered leg/knee/foot injuries, have joint pain, or are just generally not used to walking 20K+ steps multiple days in a row (honestly, not many people are!), then look into renting a scooter before you arrive. You can rent directly from Disney if you’d like, though stock can be limited. There are also several outside rental companies that will deliver ECVs and scooters to your hotel. Get Details on ECV Rental Here! Make the Schedule Flexible for the Group This honestly goes for traveling with any group, but make sure that your schedule is flexible! If you’re traveling with people of different ages and different levels of theme park experience, you won’t be able to plan your day down to the minute in advance. You never know when someone might need a break after hustling all day long. Luminous at EPCOT Don’t require everyone in your party to rope drop if that’s not what they want. And don’t make everyone stay up until park close if they have an earlier bedtime. It’s OKAY to split up your group if priorities and needs change throughout the day and the trip. Instead, focus on a few key experiences you want to do all together, and anything else can be a bonus. Check Out Our Ultimate Disney World Planning Guide Here! Discuss Must-Dos and Expectations Ahead of Time On a similar note, you and your family should discuss must-dos and expectations ahead of time. Several of our team members relayed stories of finding out that their grandparents didn’t like roller coasters or didn’t want to do any rides while they were already in the park. That’s definitely something to discuss before your trip! Expedition Everest Before you travel, make sure the must-dos are clearly communicated to the group, and find out any limits for each person in your party. Things will go much more smoothly during the vacation if you’re not arguing and trying to convince someone to get on a roller coaster when they’re averse to that type of ride. See the Best Disney World Rides for Your Trip Here! Plan Meals in Advance One of the biggest problems our team ran into when planning family trips with grandparents is the dining schedule. If your grandparents are used to eating at a particular time, it’ll be in your best interest to incorporate that into the schedule and stick to it! In fact, you might even want to book table service dining to ensure you stay on time. Tiffins spread Trust us, nobody has fun on a group trip to Disney World when people get hangry — no matter who they are! Scheduling regular meals can make sure that the members of your family stay nourished and have more longevity in the parks as well. And sometimes, we really need that indoor, air-conditioned break of a sit-down meal. 11 Disney World Restaurants Where Big Groups Are No Problem Stay on Disney World Property for Convenience Finally, one thing that many of us wish we had done with our grandparents was stay on Disney World property, simply for the convenience. When staying outside the Disney bubble, you often have to find transportation solutions like sharing Ubers or carpooling together. And when that happens, it’s a little harder to just pop back to the hotel room for a break, especially if just one or two people want to leave the parks. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Staying on property means that if grandma or grandpa wants to turn in early, show up late, or take a midday break, they can just hop on the bus (or a boat, Monorail, or Skyliner) and get back to the hotel easily. No need for everyone else to leave as well! 3. A woman staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort in Disney World has passed away. Pop Century Resort According to Fox13 News, a woman who was staying at the hotel died on Sunday, November 2nd, after being transported to a nearby hospital. The Orange County Sheriff’s office wrote in a statement: “A woman in her 40s was transported to the hospital, where she passed away. There were no signs of foul play.” Authorities discovered the woman at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, one of Disney World’s value resorts. Pop Century Resort This is the fourth death in a month that has happened at a Disney World hotel, although none of the incidents seem related. Previously, two guests staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and a guest at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground have passed away. Our thoughts go out to the woman’s family during this difficult time. The post NEWS: A Woman Staying at Disney's Pop Century Has Died first appeared on the disney food blog. View the full article

  5. Look, we’ve all rope-dropped a bathroom. Five people, one sink, a countdown clock louder than the monorail’s “por favor,” and a mountain of damp ponchos glaring at you from the towel rack like Force ghosts. Disney, we love you—deeply, irrationally, with MagicBand tan lines to prove it—but your hotel bathrooms are still stuck somewhere between “1971 opening day” and “why is this mirror gaslighting my contour?” Bathroom Here’s the manifesto Disney bathrooms didn’t know they needed, equal parts practical salvation and gloriously whimsical chaos. We are demanding these items to avoid a bathroom apocalypse and a pre-park meltdown. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We’ve got some practical requests, and we’ve also got loftier goals that might seem unrealistic, but when we’re paying Disney bucks and they have a full staff of Imagineers, we believe that magic can happen and dreams can come true—even bathroom-centric, hygiene-forward dreams. So, let’s take the plunge into our Disney bathroom request list. The Practical (a.k.a. “Why don’t we have these yet?”) Hooks. More hooks should be the start of a national initiative. Back-of-door, next to the shower, above the vanity, halfway to the water closet—every twelve inches until we’ve got a hanger forest. Families are traveling with towels, backpacks, spirit jerseys, three pairs of ears, and a poncho collection that could double as a small sailboat. Gravity is not a storage system. Hooks are. Hidden Mickey And if Disney won’t provide hooks for us, we just might have to bring our own. ©Amazon View on Amazon Real Doors. Real doors are the hill we’re willing to plant a flag on. Barn-style sliders look cute in a Fixer Upper montage; in real life they don’t latch, they don’t seal, and they definitely don’t muffle the “I-shouldn’t-have-ordered-the-second-basket-of-tachos” symphony. Give us hinged, sealable, gloriously soundproof doors—the kind that make a thunk you can trust. Privacy is not an optional amenity. 2nd bathroom area! Anti-fog mirrors. Let the mirror fight the steam so I can fight my humidity-volumized hair. A small heated patch or full anti-fog backing means no more swiping a smiley face in condensation to apply liquid liner by faith alone. We’re not training to be runway models; we just want symmetrical wings. Bathroom Real bathmats. Not a folded towel having an identity crisis. We want grippy, absorbent mats that cover actual splash zones so you don’t exit like Bambi on ice. Machine-washable, quick-dry, and—dare we dream—cozy. Give us something with grip, coverage, and enough mass that it doesn’t curl up like a frightened armadillo. Bathroom at the DVC Villas at the Grand Floridian And if Disney won’t provide a decent, non-slip bathmat for us, we just might have to bring our own. ©Amazon View on Amazon Ventilation that works. Better ventilation is both a comfort issue and a maintenance strategy. A fan that does more than whisper encouragement while fog takes the room hostage would prevent the Florida humidity + human humidity = swamp equation. Dry walls, happy lungs, and makeup that doesn’t melt faster than Olaf in July. Built-in vanity nightlight. Add a built-in nightlight under the vanity so those 2 a.m. padawan patrols don’t sear retinas. A low, under-glow that guides without turning the room into interrogation lighting. Think: “EPCOT breezeway at dusk,” not “interview with the principal.” A soft glow under the counter means toddlers, grandparents, and over-hydrated park warriors can navigate without waking the entire room like the opening number of Fantasmic! Black makeup towels. These should be as ubiquitous as Mickey bars. Mascara, self-tanner, red lipstick after a character meal—white towels don’t deserve this life. Give us a designated, launderable, non-judgmental black towel so the bathroom doesn’t look like CSI: Main Street, U.S.A. Label them with a cute “Fairest of Them All” tag and watch housekeeping high-five you in the hallway. Seriously, though. This is a thing. Lots of hotels have them. Why is Disney so late to the game with this? Or in the least, provide some disposable makeup cleanser wipes. Towels And if Disney won’t provide a makeup towel for us, we just might have to bring our own. ©Amazon View on Amazon Soft-close everything is the soundtrack of peace. Toilets, drawers, vanity doors—let them all exhale shut like a spa menu, not slam like Gaston entering a tavern. It protects toddler fingers and adult sanity. Soft-close everything is the unsung hero of rope-drop mornings. Toilet seats that whisper. Drawers that glide. Lids that say “shh” instead of “BANG.” Other side of the bathroom Vanity stepstool. A kid step stool integrated into the vanity is the single smartest space-saver you can add. Pull it out, tiny person can reach the sink; push it in, grown-ups keep their knees. Sturdy, wipeable, labeled “Junior Imagineer” because we’re not above motivational branding. Vanity area And if Disney won’t provide a stepstool for us, we might just have to bring our own (or have it delivered to save luggage space). ©Amazon View on Amazon A fold-down shower bench is both ADA-forward and wildly practical. It’s a shaving ledge, a spot for a seated rinse after a “we did 11 miles by noon” kind of day, and a place to park toiletries that don’t balance on razor-thin ledges designed by a minimalist who’s never met a conditioner bottle. Two-ply toilet paper. We are begging. We will pay. We will sign the petition. We’ll name our next towel animal after you. Upgrade us from “frontier fort parchment” to “civilized cloud.” Your guests’ relationship with fiber shouldn’t haunt an otherwise magical vacation. Toilet Paper And if Disney won’t comply with basic toilet paper decency, we might just have to bring our own! ©Amazon View on Amazon A diaper and feminine hygiene starter kit. A diaper and feminine hygiene starter kit on request is the definition of hospitality. No one wants to trek to the gift shop at 11:08 p.m. in socks because a surprise showed up. A discreet pouch with a couple of basics solves real problems and wins fierce loyalty. Really think about the folks visiting Disney World —chances are there’s at least one lady (likely more!) and probably one diaper-aged child in most parties. Let’s put courtesy and equity back in hospitality! Disney H2O But if Disney thinks only wall-mounted toiletries are all we’re entitled to for our room stay, we’ll bring our own! Diapers View on Amazon Drip Zone. A designated drip zone turns chaos into choreography. Give us a wall of stainless pegs, a retractable clothesline that can actually hold four adult swimsuits, and a tray or mat designed to corral the post-storm poncho tsunami. Let the water drip where it’s meant to drip, not across the path to the minibar—where tragedy strikes. A Split Bathroom. **A true split bathroom—cruise ship style—**is the organizational nirvana of large parties. One room with a toilet and sink, another with the shower, and a second sink. Suddenly, two humans can get ready without gladiatorial combat over faucet time. Queue management: not just for Lightning Lanes. The Whimsical (Because We’re Still on Vacation) Alright, we handled the sensible stuff—hooks for days, doors that actually close, two-ply that doesn’t qualify as pioneer cosplay—so now let’s let the pixie dust out of the drawer and get audacious. This is where bathrooms stop being merely functional and start serving main-character energy. Think vanity lights that glow like Spaceship Earth at midnight, mirrors that give you bus ETAs and a Mulan pep talk, towel bars that warm your soul (and your socks), and steam-kissed fireworks that say goodnight like a private Happily Ever After. We’re not asking for a fairy godmother in Facilities—just a few “if we can dream it, we can plumb it” upgrades that make conquering Florida humidity, 25,000 steps, and three ADRs before noon feel downright cinematic. DCL Tower Suite Bathroom Towel Warmer. A towel warmer bar is the post–afternoon-storm hug we all deserve. You come back soaked, you pop your towel (or every layer of clothing that the “Florida dew” saturated) on the warmer, and suddenly you’re being cuddled by a spa in Tuscany—except the view is the Skyliner and somehow that’s cooler. A Magic Mirror—think Hey Disney!, but make it reflective—would change mornings forever. Bus ETAs, park hours, a “you’re three minutes ahead of schedule” banner for Type A planners, and optional pep talks from characters. Mulan reminds you, “You’ve got this eyeliner, warrior.” Tiana adds, “But be quick, baby, that beignet line waits for no one.” If the mirror also dimly shames you into wearing sunscreen, we won’t be mad. The Vanity area A fireworks steam show. This might be the most extra thing we’re proposing, and we stand by it with our whole Disney Adult hearts. Subtle projection on the shower glass at bedtime—soft sparkles, the suggestion of a finale––a private Fantasmic! inspired steamy projection show for the evening. Parents-only after 9 p.m., because some magic is for grown-ups. Fantasmic! In-room Spaceship Earth Light Show. An EPCOT Beacon night-light cycle would make 2 a.m. stagger trips cinematic. Set the vanity glow to “Spaceship Earth after dark,” and let that gentle gradient guide you like a benevolent orb that knows you drank too much blue milk. Aroma Vents. Yep, we said it. Aromathera-vents let you cue the vibe: “Polynesian Lobby” for tropical serenity, “Contemporary Grand Canyon Concourse” if you want that crisp, modern morning energy, or “None, thanks” for allergy folks and scent minimalists. Tiny, tasteful, and—critically—optional. But what a way to give that potentially funky space a fresh spritz of happiness. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Concierge Stylist. Concierge hair stylists who have actually beaten Florida humidity might be the true miracle. Bookable blowouts and emergency frizz triage from stylists who know the difference between “I’m eating at Victoria & Albert’s” and “I have a 7:10 a.m. reservation for Cinderella’s Royal Table and a fragile relationship with bangs.” Think Anti-Frizz Avengers, assembled. Individual foot bath/massagers tucked into a vanity cubby would radicalize even the most stoic park commander. Twenty-five thousand steps, three rides stacked at sunset, and then you soak your overachieving hobbit feet while scrolling photos of your kid high-fiving Goofy. That’s a peak vacation moment, and you didn’t even have to mobile order it. Untangled Salon on the Disney Wish In short: give us hooks, doors that shut like they mean it, mirrors that don’t lie, and enough airflow to keep a lipstick from melting. Layer in cruise-style split baths, bench smarts, black towels, soft-close serenity, a drip zone that tames the monsoon, and—for the love of Walt—two-ply TP. Then, if you want to send us into full-on happily-ever-after, warm our towels, pep-talk our eyeliner, and let our vanity glow like Spaceship Earth at midnight. Do the basics brilliantly, sprinkle a little pixie dust on top, and you’ll turn every pre-park scramble into something closer to magic than mayhem. 9. Do you ever see something happen and wish more than anything you could have been RIGHT there? Since we have the super cool job of heading into Disney World nearly every day, or writing about all things Disney from home, it’s not often we feel super envious, but this? Oh, this is a different story. ©Disney Among all the members of our team, we all had lots of different Disney celebrity crushes as kids. For some of us, it was Chad Dylan Cooper from “Sonny with A Chance,” for others it was Jackson or Oliver from “Hannah Montana,” or maybe even Troy from High School Musical. If you were like me, though, it may have been one (or all three) of The Jonas Brothers. So imagine our MELTDOWN when we realized they were just IN Disney World at one of our favorite spots! Joe Jonas recently posted on his Instagram that he was over at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! He captioned his story, “Ran into my old boss,” which we CANNOT get enough of. What a fun way to nod towards his history with Disney. @joejonas on Instagram In case you weren’t a Disney kid growing up, the Jonas Brothers were heavily involved in many ways with Disney, most notably with Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2, released in 2008 and 2010, respectively. That wasn’t all, though — they also had their own show on Disney Channel called “Jonas.” @Disney Our favorite part of all of this? While the Jonas Brothers are on tour right now, their work with Disney is far from over, as it was recently announced that Camp Rock 3 is on the way! All three of the Jonas Brothers are returning to be part of the film, and we truly can’t wait. ©Disney Even more surprising is that there’s ANOTHER Jonas Brothers movie on the way called A Very Jonas Christmas Movie that will release on November 14th on Disney+. In this film, Nick, Kevin, and Joe are attempting to get from London to New York in time to spend the holiday with their families, which gets very difficult as they face mounting obstacles intent on ruining their holiday plans. ©Disney We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Jonas Brothers news, because let’s be honest, we keep up with pretty much all they do, so stay tuned to DFB. 10. Universal Studios Florida has updated its Wicked: The Experience attraction to include costumes from the upcoming “Wicked: For Good” movie. The display, near the entrance of the theme park, opened a year ago in conjuction with the original “Wicked” film, which grossed more than $750 at the box office worldwide. Both the 2024 and 2025 releases star Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey and Bowen Yang. They were directed by Jon Chu. Newly displayed at what Universal Orlando calls an “overlay” are Fiyero’s wedding suit, a look for Madame Morrible and a Wizard ensemble. Also updated is a photo op with gowns for Elphaba and Glinda, which flank a yellow-brick road for visitors to stand on. (Fear not, the popular broom photo spot remains.) The elaborate video set-up now features clips from “For Good,” which arrives in theaters Nov. 21. Fiyero's wedding garb, seen in the upcoming 'Wicked: For Good' film, is on display at Universal Studios theme park in Orlando. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Some of the previous items have been rearranged, and the bulk of those are listed, in wee type, as “original costume replica.” They are still interesting to look at. (We commend Glinda’s “Popular” pink peignoir and teddy to your attention, but they all appear to be sewing challenges.) The exterior of the building has fresh and giant graphics but maintains the pink and green theming. A revised photo opportunity inside Wicked: The Experience includes replica dresses, yellow brick road. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) The contents are blend of museum pieces and merchandise, including new spirit jerseys that have cause internet buzz. Other eye-catching merch includes a Lego set that forms Glinda and Elphaba bookends, Glinda’s training wand and an assortment of pressed coins. Wicked: The Experience is also the cite of meet-and-greets with the leading witches, but there is no published schedule for appearances. Need more immersion? “Wicked” themes snacks are at the nearby standalong eatery now knowns as Emerald City Eats. Among the menu items are the Emerald City focaccia, the All Roads Lead to Oz flatbread and adults beverages including the Popular Potion (pink, with rose vodka) and Enchanting Elixir (green, with tequila). Around the corner at Schwab’s Pharmacy are the Yellow Brick Road shake and the Wizard Elixir shake (featuring mint chocolate chip ice cream). 11. Attention fellow Costco fanatics, a major change is coming to our favorite wholesale retail chain! Costco The big box membership club retailer, best known for wholesale items, huge portion sizes, gift card deals, and of course, the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, is expanding their early entry perk for shoppers… but there’s a catch. In late October 2025, Costco announced that a “VIP hours” experience for certain membership levels that had previously been tested in some locations is going into effect nationwide. Executive Members — who pay $130 a year for their membership — will now be able to enter their local Costco an hour earlier than other members on most days. Costco Executive Member Shopping Hours will be as follows: Weekdays (Monday – Friday): 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Saturday: 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Sunday: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In addition, a Costco representative told ABC News that “U.S. warehouses will stay open one extra hour on Saturday, closing at 7 p.m. for all members,” which would seem to include later access for both the aforementioned Executive members, as well as Gold Star, Business, and Business add-on members, who pay a $65 annual fee. Disney Halloween Arch in Costco Costco Executive Members can now get an hour of early entry shopping at the popular retailer beginning at 9:00 AM. 12. Something is coming this week that hardcore Disney fans are going to enjoy! ©Disney The name Bob Iger should ring a bell amongst Disney fans, as he’s the current CEO of the Walt Disney Company. Iger has been with the company for a long time, serving as CEO from 2005 to 2020 before returning again in 2022. With all those years under his belt and everything he’s done with the company for nearly two decades, he has a lot to share. Which is why we’re so excited about him appearing on The Rest Is History Podcast! It looks like we’ll be getting a history lesson from Disney’s CEO, Iger, who recently appeared on the podcast The Rest is History. The podcast claims to be the most popular history podcast, with roughly 20 million monthly downloads, according to Deadline. ©Deadline Bob Iger will be joining hosts Tom Holland (no, not Spider-Man) and Dominic Sandbrook in a two-part video special about Walt Disney’s legacy! Together, they will tour around Disneyland Park, breaking down Walt’s legacy as an animator and film producer, along with the massive cultural impact his theme park has had. That’s not all, as it was also teased that the Disney CEO will “offer up reflections on his own time at Disney ahead of his planned exit in 2026.” Crazy to think he’ll be leaving so soon! ©Deadline Episode one, ‘Walt Disney: The Great American Storyteller,’ aired on November 3rd, 2025. The second episode will air on November 6th, 2025, exploring the “creation and enduring popularity of Disneyland.” Then, on November 7th, the podcast will release the video of the interview. So, a lot is coming this week with Bob Iger and Disney history! ©Deadline It was also teased that a “mini-documentary in which Iger gives Sandbrook and Holland a private historical tour of the Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland Park” will be coming. We’re excited to listen in and watch these episodes. One of the hosts, Tom Holland, mentioned, “Whenever we investigate a subject, we always want to do more – we’re frustrated we can’t carry on.” He continued to say, “With Walt Disney, we thought it only right to come to Disney – to Disneyland itself. Walt Disney, more than any other figure, embodies twentieth-century American culture, and Disneyland is a remarkable creation – one of the most influential architectural works of the mid-20th century.” ©Deadline From episodes of the podcast to an interview, there is so much that we’ll be getting to hear from the CEO of the company we all know and love. Disney has seen its fair share of ups and downs, so it’ll be cool to get an idea of where Bob is at with everything, while sharing the history of the company. 15. You’ve spent tons of money on your Disney World tickets and hotel package, and even MORE on extras like Lightning Lane MultiPass to help you navigate your days in the parks smoothly and efficiently. You’ve planned almost everything perfectly down to the details — and then your phone battery dies, and instantly, panic ensues. There’s a new FuelRod you’ve GOT to try! But, I’m here to offer a solution, and it’s one that can be reused time and time again. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the FuelRod Max 10 Power Bank If you’re like me and constantly glued to your phone while on vacation (taking photos, navigating the parks, keeping up with apps, or managing multiple devices), you already know the struggle of running down your battery at the worst possible moment. Enter the FuelRod Max 10, the latest model in FuelRod’s line of portable chargers. And yes, it’s a BIG upgrade from the old round rod model. FuelRod Max 10 If FuelRod sounds familiar to you, that’s because they’ve been around Disney World’s parks for a while now. Their kiosks are peppered throughout Disney World’s parks and hotels, and their premise is simple. You can visit a kiosk to purchase a new Fuel Rod, AND swap them out for FREE when they’ve run out of power. FuelRod Sounds pretty simple, right? YES! They’re really that easy. And the initial kits you can purchase even come with multiple charging heads with miniature cords to get you up and running right away. Comes with charging pieces You could even take it a step further to say they’re even helpful during the rest of your vacation. We’ve spotted them around our local towns, airports, and even at Universal, where you can still swap out your FuelRod for a minimal fee per swap. They’re truly a lifesaver when you need to stay connected! FuelRod kiosk So when we noticed FuelRod had released a NEW model, we were delighted to check it out. The FuelRod Max 10 isn’t your old pocket-sized FuelRod. The Max 10 is a hefty, fully revamped charger packing 10,000 mAh of power and multiple charging ports. Multiple charging ports There’s a battery life indicator on the side… Side indicator light …a simple on/off button, and it even comes with magnetic charging capability, so you can magnetically attach it to your phone. Magnetic charging included Oh, and the kicker? YES, you can STILL swap it for a fully charged one at Disney World for free, a convenience that alone makes it tempting for park-goers. View FuelRod on Amazon The Fuel Rod Max 10 is ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to risk a dead phone during the day. Families juggling multiple devices, self-proclaimed “memory makers” snapping endless photos and videos, or anyone who relies on their apps for directions, reservations, or park hacks will find them to be a lifesaver. Charging magnetically When you’re not looking to be tied to a cord while charging, using the magnetic charge feature means you can keep using your phone (even in light rain) without worry. FuelRod is a brand we’ve depended on for YEARS — LITERALLY! It’s proven to be a reliable brand of portable chargers (and a company that stands behind its products, given our track record of phone calls to customer service with questions), which gives you peace of mind knowing you won’t be hunting for an outlet after a long day in the parks. View FuelRod on Amazon Here’s where this one can get a little tricky, though. At $80 for the initial kit at a Disney World kiosk, it’s definitely an investment; it’s not exactly slim pocket-friendly, and even with big hands, wrapping around it while charging magnetically can be awkward. And be prepared for a difference in charging speed between when you’re charging with a cord versus the magnetic capabilities. In our experience, the magnetic charging might be a little slower than the other two. It’s growing on us quickly Other portable chargers we’ve tested (and love equally) offer similar power capacity, but the swapability and convenience of the FuelRod Max 10 make it stand out for park visitors. You don’t have to worry about plugging it in overnight-just swap and go. For now, the FuelRod Max 10 is only available for purchase at the kiosks inside the park. However, FuelRod has a whole line of portable chargers available online (and cheaper than you can snag them in the park!) Fuel Rod and adaptors They’ve even got kits with multiples that can be brought into the parks and swapped as if you’d bought them right out of the kiosk initially! View on Amazon Is it worth it? YES, if you value convenience, versatility, and never running out of power in the middle of your vacation day. The Max 10 delivers on capability and reliability, but its heft keeps it from feeling perfect. For my needs in the parks, it’s a solid 4.5 out of 5, and it’s quickly earning a spot replacing my other trusted portable chargers. If you’re prioritizing power and peace of mind over pocketability, this might just be the portable charger you didn’t know you needed. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 19. Epic Universe has been a major topic of conversation since it opened in May 2025! The park has had to change rules, we’ve eaten more food than we care to think about, and we’ve been busy unlocking every secret and tip imaginable. Epic Universe As the year begins to wrap up, and the park heads into the new year, we’ve seen even more changes on the horizon. Now, Universal has made a statement that makes us think the parks are going to be even more crowded in 2026. Universal has finally confirmed what we were curious about for the last several months. Universal has confirmed they haven’t filled the park to full capacity even after the park has opened for several months. This means lower crowds than what the park is even capable of holding. Wizarding World of Harry Potter Mike Cavanagh, president of Comcast (and future co-CEO of the company), stated, “We’ve been holding back a little bit to make sure the experience is what we want it to be. Expect it to fully scale up in the months ahead.” The statements were made during the quarterly earnings call on October 30th, 2025. Opening crowds at Epic Universe While we had speculated before this that attendance was capped, this is our first official confirmation from the company. He continued to say, “Our focus now is driving increased ride capacity. It’s a new park and very technologically advanced. We’re still working on the labor and the kinks to drive it to full capacity.” This isn’t a huge surprise that their focus would be on rides because wait times are still fairly high for the park to not be at capacity. Queue for the standby line at Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry We track wait times for the park, and rides like Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry are still seeing wait times as high as 150 minutes. Mario Kart and Mine Cart Madness also regularly see highs of 170+ minutes. Mine-Cart Madness While he didn’t confirm when the capacity cap would end, we can assume it will be sometime in 2026. Cavanagh also shared that the entire Universal resort has benefited from the opening of the new theme park. He shared, “We’re very pleased. The idea was to have Epic head us toward a week-long vacation experience. One of the nice things is that lesser cannibalization of attendance from our two preexisting parks than we expected.” Dark Universe in Epic Universe We’re eager to see if Universal will confirm when they increase capacity. While we assume they won’t make a formal statement, we think the wait times will reflect the change. The park is already focusing on expanding, and we will be sure to keep an eye on the changes on the horizon. Be sure to keep following DFB for more Universal news and updates. 20. There are so many different ways to dress for Disney World! Some people love being comfortable, some people love dressing in over-the-top, detailed outfits. Hi from Woody and Jessie! Some people also use their outfits as ways to show off their love for specific characters, movies, shows, and more! If you’re a ’90s baby like we are, you’re going to snap these shirts up for your next trip faster than we can say “Hunk-ules”. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Is there anything better than feeling cute and comfortable in Disney World? We would argue there isn’t! Achieving both feels like a real feat, and we think these shirts will help us do just that. Toy Story Graphic Tee ©Target Starting off strong with the ultimate ’90s hit, we have this Toy Story-inspired tee! This shirt features all of the beloved characters like Woody, Buzz, Jessie, the aliens, and more. We can already picture the photos of this in Toy Story Land! This is a film that transcends generations, so everyone can get in on the fun. Shop at Target Men’s Mickey Mouse Tee ©Target What’s better than a classic Mickey shirt? This tee shows off our love for the main mouse with bright graphics, the year he debuted, and (of course) Mickey himself. Mickey is on the run, which makes this shirt even better because that’s what we look like during rope drop. Shop at Target Hercules Tee ©Target Is there anything more ’90s than the movie Hercules? This shirt shows Herc defeating the dreaded Hydra sent by Hades, along with Phil cheering him on! It’s a simple design that gives some love to what we would argue is an underrated film. We promise, people around the parks will love this one! Shop at Target Beauty and the Beast Graphic Tee ©Target This shirt is for fans of the classic fairytale, Beauty and the Beast! It features the stained glass window from the film with Belle and her prince front and center. It also shows the gorgeous red rose in all of its beauty. At the time of writing, it’s also on sale! Shop at Target Mushu Pocket Tee ©Target Finally, we have the most subtle (and arguably coolest) shirt on the list! This tee is inspired by the film Mulan, and it features her dragon Mushu and cricket Cri-Kee. They’re both hidden in the shirt’s “pocket” design. This shirt is really more of a “if you get it, you get it” deal, which we love. Plus, we heard adding a cricket brings you luck! Shop at Target These shirts are sure to keep you cool and comfortable all day long in the parks! Be sure to keep following DFB for more affordable and cute Disney finds online. 21. Animal Kingdom is ready to get WILD, very soon! We aren’t even making an animal joke right now (yes, we are). The park is going crazy with construction, new attractions, and so much change. New Zootopia snacks have arrived! As the park’s newest attractions’ debut is drawing near, Disney has started to release new merchandise, sneak peeks, and even new snacks inspired by the show! We’re bringing you along with us to test out what might be the cutest treats we’ve seen in a long time. What is a new attraction opening without a new snack or drink to celebrate? Zootopia: Better Zoogether is opening on November 7th, 2025, and we are so excited! To make the day even sweeter, Disney has released 2 new snacks inspired by the show at Isle of Java. Isle of Java The first of the new treats is the Clawhauser’s Donut Macaron at $5.99. This is a chocolate ganache and strawberry jam–filled macaron topped with a chocolate “glaze” and rainbow sprinkles. There is a lot of chocolate, so much so that we couldn’t taste anything else. There is strawberry jam inside, but it doesn’t run through the whole macaron, just the outer edge. We really enjoyed it and wish there were more. Clawhauser’s Donut Macaron The macaron itself is well-made, but the balance was a bit off. The chocolate on top and the chocolate in the middle do overpower the strawberry flavoring. If you’re a chocolate lover, this is a great option for you! If you want a bit more complexity, we would recommend heading over to Les Halles in EPCOT. Inside the macaron! The second option was the Bunny Burrow Coffee for $5.99! This cold brew has a layer of blueberry syrup at the bottom, and it’s topped with sweetened condensed milk above it. We will say we tried to mix it, and it was quite a bit of work. The Bunny Burrow Coffee Once we finally mixed it, the drink was decadent! It was rich, thick, and creamy from condensed milk and the blue pearls. The whipped cream, pearls, and candy carrot sank into the coffee pretty quickly. This felt more like a melted milkshake than a coffee, so be ready for a sugar rush! The toppings! The blueberry syrup doesn’t come through as strongly as we would like. We could see it, but the flavor wasn’t apparent. The condensed milk was the main flavor in the coffee, but we still enjoyed it nonetheless. The coffee unmixed! The new snacks are super exciting and a fun way to celebrate a new Animal Kingdom attraction! As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney reviews, news, and more. 23. There are so many different tools to use when it comes to surviving Disney World! We pack the best sunscreens, the most comfortable shoes, and so many portable chargers. ©Shutterstock One tool in our survival kit is free to you and us! It’s called the My Disney Experience App, and it is quite literally your key to the kingdom. Now, the key to maximizing your Disney World trip has changed again, and we think you’re going to love it. The My Disney Experience App is about to make shopping easier…we hope! Currently, Disney World is testing a new “Find Merchandise” feature in the app. This feature will let you search for souvenirs and see if the merchandise is currently in stock. ©Disney At the time of writing, the test is only live for World of Disney over in Disney Springs. It gives you access to see where specific merchandise is, what store it’s in, and what the hours of the store are. ©Disney As you can see, you can search based on what you’re looking for. It can be super specific or more general! ©Disney We love that the app also shows the prices, as well as available sizing. You can also find the product number of each item if you need more detailed searching. The app is currently being rolled out, so you might not see the update just yet. Only time will tell if Disney will expand this offering. ©Disney This isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this in Disney World. At one point, there was a similar app called the Shop Disney Parks App. They also updated My Disney Experience to let you shop via the app in 2019. Shop the Parks via My Disney Experience In past attempts, the app wasn’t the most reliable. Members of our team were Cast Members during the other attempts, and the app struggled to stay up-to-date. This means guests would go out of their way for merchandise only for it to be sold out, despite what the app said. World of Disney! In addition to this feature, the My Disney Experience App can let you see wait times, purchase Lightning Lanes, and keep all of your important information in one place. Your tickets and hotel information can even be accessed from the app! What’s even crazier is that we are only talking about a fraction of what the app offers. ©Disney We’re eager to see how this will impact guests’ shopping experience. If this app is able to report the current availability, this is the update we’ve been dreaming of! As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news and updates. 25. If you’re like me, then this is the absolute BEST time of year to be in the Disney World parks. Why? IT’S HOLLY JOLLY SEASON! The holidays are underway! That’s right, Disney World is getting into the holiday and Christmas spirit! We’ve seen seasonal merchandise out on the shelves, started to notice red and green snacks pop up around the resort, and now, the parks are getting decorated from top to bottom. This year, there’s even a little extra holiday magic in Magic Kingdom! Starting out on Main Street, U.S.A., the Christmas tree is up in the park as of November 3rd! Christmas wreaths and garlands were up on November 2nd, but this tree is MASSIVE and takes a little extra attention to set up overnight. Hello, beautiful It’s the same classic tree design that we’ve seen here in years past, with retro detailing like giant popcorn strands, golden bells, faux gingerbread ornaments, and big red bows. Very traditional Christmas style! Stunning, classic details! Underneath the tree, you’ll find a pile of giant presents and retro children’s toys, including the scary doll that somehow keeps making her way back into this park (YIKES!). She’s baaaaack! Moving away from Main Street, Magic Kingdom has some new decorations this year to check out! Like they did for Halloween, Storybook Circus has been decorated. There are massive candy canes wrapped around the poles on the entrance sign. Can we eat those? When you get further into the land, they have new Dumbo-inspired wreaths! They’re not quite as cute as the Dumbo pumpkins from Halloween, but that’s a really high bar that was set. Absolutely precious! There are also new decorations surrounding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The sign for the ride is decked out in garland… The ride sign …and there’s a Christmas tree next to the ride entrance! If you look closely, you’ll see Snow White-inspired details with the red bows, and dwarf-inspired gemstones throughout. Even the tree is themed! They’ve wrapped the lampposts in this area with garland with hidden details fitting to the ride as well. Heigh Ho Ho Ho Directly across from that ride, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has some seasonal decor this year. Once again, the sign is decorated… How sweet! …and there’s a garden full of presents for the friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. Is there one for me in there? Each one is themed to the character it’s for! How precious is that? It’s covered in honey! The wreaths and garlands in this area are decorated with little honey bees. Pooh would love that. They really went into the details this year. We can’t wait to see how the other parks get all decked out this year! We’ll keep you in the loop as we spot more decor.
