The 2025 edition of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is here, and we’re on scene to share anything and EVERYTHING about the Magic Kingdom’s Holiday extravaganza! Let’s get Merry! First launched in 1983, the after-hours event has become a staple of the Holiday Season for millions of guests over the years, offering annual traditions including complimentary snacks and cocoa, the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, characters in their Christmas best, and even snow (AKA snoap) on Main Street. We’ll be updating this article with additional crowd and wait time information as the party continues, so keep checking back here for the latest info! The 2025 edition of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicked off on November 7th… Party day technically means early closure. … and the crowds were huge, even three hours before the party was officially scheduled to begin. … and the crowds are READY. While many of the party’s offerings were in demand, the longest wait time early on belonged to the Jack & Sally meet & greet. Crowds for Jack and Sally! Large crowds were already set to wait for an hour for the meet & greet… once it actually opens THREE hours later. If you want to meet them, we would definitely recommend hopping in line to meet them as soon as you arrive, so you don’t waste literal hours of precious party time later on. This was 10 after 4… 3 hours before the party even begins! Of course, once you actually get to meet Jack and Sally, it’s one of the best meet & greet experiences Disney offers, including a heavily themed environment… We’d love to live like Jack & Sally. … and Jack in FULL Sandy Claws regalia. “Kidnap the Sandy Claws…” The 2025 edition of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is set to run select nights through December 21st. Stay tuned to DFB for more on the event. Why We’re Anxious About Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party This Year Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! What’s better than a Disney Popcorn bucket? A HOLIDAY POPCORN BUCKET, of course! The new popcorn bucket has arrived! Over the last several years, popcorn buckets have become some of the hottest collectibles – and most in-demand, as veterans of the 4-hour Figment lines can attest – Disney has to offer. We’re currently at the first night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and there’s a new and exclusive bucket that people are going crazy for! Are you ready to obsess over Disney’s latest popcorn bucket? Well, you’ve come to the right place! This year, Disney’s newest bucket is the Holiday Christmas Tree Truck for $29. The sign! The first night of the annual after-hours event is tonight, and we got in line for this beauty before the party even officially started at 6 PM. It seems like we weren’t the only ones! The line! For many people, popcorn buckets are the ultimate collectible item, so we tend to see long lines, especially at the beginning of each party. They don’t tend to sell out, but we know it is possible. If you’re serious about this souvenir being high on your priority list, we recommend hopping straight in line before the party even starts. Enough about the lines, though, let’s look at this bucket! It’s so cute! This party exclusive souvenir is modeled after a red classic truck with Mickey in the driver’s seat and Minnie in the passanger seat. Hey, Mickey! In the truck bed, Goofy is holding down the Christmas tree that’s already decorated with lights and a star on top. You can even see Chip ‘n Dale helping with acorns, tiny hats, and scarves! Are they our new style inspo? Maybe so. Hold it down Goofy! The bucket features two openings for that popular salt snack. Gooft and the chipmunks lift to reveal where your treat is! The back opens! If multiple people want to snack together, you can also pop the hood open so there’s not awkward hand touches as you snack. Unless you want that, it could be a sweet date moment! The hood opens! The bucket also features a carrying strap with the same characters, more trees, and a snowy wonderland. The carrying strap The back of the truck is super simple, and you can get another good view of the chipmunks here. The back! The front also features the truck’s headlights. Is it weird that this reminds us of Bella Swan’s truck from Twilight? The front! You can grab this bucket at the popcorn carts near Cinderella Castle. We got ours on the right side of the castle. This bucket is a party exclusive, so you will need a ticket to grab this one. We had to show off our wrist bands to get in line! The pick up! Holiday popcorn bucket offerings have become especially popular, with examples including Elf Mickey… … Santa Sulley (which is available at the party too)… Sulley Holiday Popcorn Bucket … and Toy Soldier Mickey to name a few. Mickey! The 2025 edition of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is set to run select nights through December 21st. We can’t wait to enjoy even more of the party as the night continues on. I am a self-proclaimed directionally challenged Disney adult. As you can imagine, it’s pretty difficult for me to get around the parks! The 2025 party map! It doesn’t matter that I’ve been going here for 25 years. Once I exit a ride (especially a long one like Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean), it takes me a few minutes to get my bearings. All of the construction has added a new level to this challenge, but that’s a different story for a different day. I’m about to study the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party map for 2025 since the DFB team is there for its opening night — want to join?! Let’s do it! First of all, can we admire this cover?! You’ll see an army of these maps up front when you enter the park. The best part? It doubles as a free souvenir from the party! This gorgeous cover might be our favorite in years thanks to its retro vibe! The Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Map Inside the map, you can find previews and information regarding the party. On the first page, you can learn about the holiday attraction overlays, the free ornament each guest receives, the special snacks and drinks, and a sneak peek at merchandise! Inside the map! This year, you can scan a QR inside the map for a Digital Event Guide! You can also find a full list of the entertainment offerings during the party, like the Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration. The full entertainment list! The map can also help you navigate the park during your fun! You can see the Holiday treat locations, which are marked by large peppermint icons. The special character meet and greets are marked with a green Mickey in a Santa hat. The entire park! Plus, on the right side of the map, you can see every store, restaurant, and attraction that is open and available during the party. It’s important to know that not everything is open, so check that map! Everything that’s open! On the back of the map, you can learn more about special holiday photos as well as contributors to the event. They also noted “special considerations” you might need to make for certain attractions this year, including safety information. The back! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs on certain nights from now until December 20th! Tickets are selling out quickly, but range from $169 to $229 depending on the date. In addition to this complimentary ornament and eating your weight in cookies, you’ll find dozens of specialty snacks around the park, exclusive entertainment, rare characters (including Jack Skellington and Sally!), and low wait times at popular rides. All of which you can see in the handy-dandy map! It’s SANTA! We’ll keep bringing you updates from the party and the rest of Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more! 5 Ways Christmas at Disney World Will Be Vastly Different in 2025 DON'T MISS A MOMENT OF HOLIDAY MAGIC Holidays at Disney World: DFB's Merriest Guide is a one-of-a-kind resource that will help you get the most out of your holiday vacation at Walt Disney World. So many perks go to waste in Disney World. I get it — I’m guilty of leaving some free money or experiences on the table! Christmas is HERE! Sure, as an Annual Passholder, I’ve taken advantage of the air-conditioned lounge in EPCOT during the summer. As a Disney Visa Cardmember, I get discounts at restaurants around the parks. But did you know some perks come with special event tickets? At Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you can get a complimentary souvenir, so this is our official PSA: DON’T MISS OUT ON YOUR FREE ORNAMENT! Take a look at this year’s ornament! Once you scan your ticket into Magic Kingdom and get your wristband, you’ll find Cast Members handing these babies out. The ornament is small; however, our reporter feels like this is a high-quality ornament! The colors are bright, and it’s metal, which means it will last year after year. 2025 Free Ornament They’re given to you on Market Street when you enter the party. Does the ornament look familiar to you? We’ll give you a second to think… Christmas Ornament Yes, the Christmas tree truck design matches the popcorn bucket that is exclusively available at the party this year! ©Disney In 2024, the ornament was a gingerbread house with very festive residents who decorated the outside with candy canes and a Mickey-shaped peppermint. The complimentary ornament! Oh, and don’t forget SNOAP!! Soap + snow = SNOAP. And it flurries down on Main Street, U.S.A. during the party. There’s a lot to do, but this has to be our favorite every time! Snoap almost always makes us emotional We’ll keep bringing you updates from the party and the rest of Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more! It’s not every day that a brand-new land takes over part of Magic Kingdom, but that’s exactly what’s happening in Frontierland. Piston Peak ©Disney Disney released the official concept map for Piston Peak, a Cars-themed expansion inspired by the Planes: Fire & Rescue universe, and we’ve been zooming in on every single detail. When you line it up next to the current map of Frontierland and Liberty Square, the changes are impossible to miss. Rivers have shifted, landmarks look refreshed, and it’s clear this part of the park is about to feel bigger and busier than ever. Here’s a closer look at six map updates that reveal just how much Frontierland and Liberty Square are transforming. Piston Peak Takes Over the Island Say goodbye to Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America as we know them. In their place rises Piston Peak National Park, a land straight out of the Cars universe. Instead of drifting around on rafts and exploring caves, you’ll be stepping into a fully themed outdoor world filled with waterfalls, rocky cliffs, and yes, racing tracks. Frontierland before and after This change gives the area a whole new energy. Where Frontierland once felt quiet and tucked away, Piston Peak looks lively, full of motion, and completely immersive. The River Gets a Brand-New Route That classic Frontierland river isn’t gone — it’s just going in a new direction. River Through Frontierland (Before) The updated layout shows the water hugging the edge of the land before winding straight into the heart of Piston Peak. This creates a seamless transition between the old and new sections of the park. River through Frontierland (After) It’s not just a design choice either. This new layout opens up sightlines and gives guests some seriously pretty views. Picture rainbow geysers from Big Thunder Mountain reflecting on the water, or nighttime lights dancing across the river’s surface. It’s a huge visual upgrade. Big Thunder Mountain Gets a Subtle Glow-Up Don’t worry — Big Thunder Mountain Railroad isn’t going anywhere. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Before) But even this fan-favorite coaster looks like it’s getting a few new tricks. The map (and a few hints from Disney) suggest rainbow geysers, fresh lighting, and even some thematic touches like tire tracks blending into the dirt around the mountain. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (After) It’s not a full re-theme, just enough to tie the attraction into its new surroundings. Think of it as Frontierland’s wildest ride getting a stylish new neighbor — and dressing up a bit for the occasion. Liberty Square’s Dock Lives On Longtime fans might’ve worried that the old Liberty Square boat dock and barrel bridges would vanish in the overhaul, but good news, they’re sticking around. Liberty Square Boat Dock (Before) You’ll still be able to spot them nestled among lush trees and new walking paths. Liberty Square Boat Dock (After) They might not be the star of the show anymore, but these classic features help the updated land keep a touch of that old-school charm. Barrel Bridges (Before) It’s a smart move that blends nostalgia with fresh exploration — something Disney does best when they strike the right balance. Barrel Bridges (After) Country Bears and Tiana Stay Put If you were worried this overhaul meant losing a few favorites, you can breathe easy. Country Bear Musical Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure aren’t going anywhere. Country Bear Musical Jamboree (Before) Both remain as anchor attractions in Frontierland, which will give guests familiar landmarks while everything around them evolves. Country Bear Musical Jamboree (Before) It’s a clever move to keep a sense of place while still giving the area a total refresh. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Before) Guests who loved the old Frontierland will still recognize the heart of it, even if the landscape looks brand new. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (After) A Scenic, Walkable Frontier One of the biggest upgrades on the map isn’t a ride at all; it’s the new walking paths. Gone are the days of dead ends and narrow trails. The new layout weaves together a network of scenic routes surrounded by waterfalls, rock formations, and greenery. Piston Peak ©Disney It’s going to make simply walking through this part of the park an experience in itself. The entire area feels more connected now, guiding guests naturally from Liberty Square through Frontierland and into the grand wilderness of Piston Peak. The space also feels bigger, more open, and full of storytelling potential. You can tell Disney wants this to be a showpiece area — something that ties classic Magic Kingdom nostalgia to the next era of park design. The ship will sail from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre and throughout Southeast Asia on 3- and 4-night cruises. ©Disney The ship has a theme revolving around adventure, but most importantly, it will also have FOOD. Disney Cruise Line just recently revealed what rotational dining will be like on the ship, including a list of the ship’s restaurants and a first look at some of the food…we’re already drooling! Navigator’s Club and Hollywood Spotlight Club The Navigator’s Club will feature “musical acts and interactions with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck.” Its sister restaurant is the Hollywood Spotlight Club, which is themed around the golden age of Hollywood. Mickey and his friends will also be performing musical acts here, too. But let’s talk about the FOOD. Entrees will include: Duck Confit Pastilla with filo, saffron, cinnamon, and blackberry Prawns Mumbai Bhel with sweet corn, rice puffs, avocado, cilantro, aïoli, and tamarind Porcini Spiced Ahi Tuna Sashimi with pickled lotus root, oyster mushrooms, black sesame brittle, wasabi, and yuzu mayonnaise Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass with baby Napa kimchi ©Disney Animator’s Palate and Animator’s Table Now, these are two restaurants most Disney Cruisers are familiar with. The Animator’s Palate and the Animator’s Table bring Walt Disney’s animation to life as the restaurant transforms from black and white to vibrant color while you dine. You’ll also find animation boards and props from some of your favorite Disney movies. Here’s a sneak peek at what you’ll be able to order there: Hainanese Chicken Rice with sweet dark soy sauce, ginger garlic sauce, and chili sauce Laksa Lemak with prawn, Tau pok, laksa leaf, and chili Chocolate Decadence made with bitter chocolate crème, truffle crème, hazelnut chiffon, and chocolate sauce Salted Caramel Cheesecake features a vanilla cheesecake, salted dulce de leche glaze, and peanut butter rice crisps. Mickey Chocolate Tart ©Disney Enchanted Summer Restaurant and Pixar Market Restaurant Enchanted Summer Restaurant “transports you to a village dining hall with rooms inspired by Disney Animation’s Tangled and Frozen.” A buffet will be served during breakfast and lunch, focusing on regional and international cuisines. At night, the restaurant becomes a table service experience for rotational dining. Pixar Market Restaurant is themed around the art and artists from Pixar Animation studios. Breakfast and lunch is a buffet, but the restaurant becomes a table service spot for rotational dining for dinner. Here’s a quick peek at what’s on the menu: Shiromaru with tonkotsu pork broth, egg noodles, pork belly chasu, sesame kikurage mushrooms, bean sprouts, menma, and spring onions Green Papaya Salad with long beans, chili, and grape tomatoes with palm sugar lime dressing Lemon Thai Basil Tart with lemon curd, Thai basil whipped ganache, Swiss meringue, and raspberry sauce is a must. ©Disney We don’t know about you, but we’re ready to book a cruise on the Disney Adventure just for the food! Mechanical birds, bears and princesses have chirped, growled and sung in Orlando’s theme parks for more than 50 years. The animatronic trend shows no signs of fading, as new figures arrive in new places at Walt Disney World, and Epic Universe introduces batches of lifelike characters. The additions range from a planned electronic version of Walt Disney at Magic Kingdom to a lumbering Frankenstein’s monster figure that debuted with Epic in May. “People still enjoy seeing lifelike figures of their heroes, villains and others come alive,” said Dennis Speigel, CEO of International Theme Park Services. “I think this is one area that continues to evolve, and I don’t think we’ve seen anything yet.” Technological advances are enabling the improved illusion of the figures, said Brian Orr, show systems studio executive with Walt Disney Imagineering. “The way that we can now simulate, the way that we now design, the way that we now can generate content for these and in style — like it is moving like the character that everybody sees and recognizes from the film … I think that’s really the appeal of like, ‘Wow, not only did I see Elsa on the ride, but I felt like it was Elsa. It moved, it performed, it looked at me,’” Orr said. In Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, the Tree of Life Theater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is the epicenter of a citywide celebration with a livestream watch party of the Zoogether Day festivities. Among the audience of mammals big and small is an all-new Audio-Animatronics figure of off-duty ZPD officer, Benjamin Clawhauser. Guests can see Clawhauser in his new look – sporting glow-in-the-dark necklaces and his favorite Gazelle tee shirt – when the “4D” show opens Nov. 7, 2025. (Walt Disney Co.) The next new animatronic at Disney World will be Benjamin Clawhauser, a cheetah character that’s part of the “Zootopia: Better Zoogether” show launching at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park on Nov. 7. “You will see something new and unique from that figure,” Orr said. Other planned figures include Buddy, a support-bot, in the ongoing update for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Rangers Spin at Magic Kingdom; Scooter and other Muppets in the retheming of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios; facelifts for Frozen Ever After figures at Epcot; and the addition of Walt Disney himself at the beginning of Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom. These come on the heels of the first animatronic to represent Walt Disney, which debuted at Disneyland in California this summer. “I think that has breathed a lot of life back into the animatronics and from the highest level,” Speigel said. Figures frightening, formidable Universal Orlando installed animatronics inside Epic Universe’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment ride and elsewhere. “Everyone has their normal lives that they’re going through, and that comes with people wanting to be transported,” said Gregory Hall, assistant director, creative design for Universal Creative. “We have the opportunity to bring new technology and use it for good and use it to entertain and inspire people.” The Monsters Unchained ride is peppered with figures in action, including Dracula, Mummy and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Frankenstein's monster and Dr. Victoria Frankenstein are focal points of the preshow leading up to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment at Epic Universe. (Patrick Connolly/Orlando Sentinel) A crowd-pleasing scene happens in the Unchained preshow with new character Victoria Frankenstein and Frankenstein’s monster, who strides into the room. It’s a moment that prompts applause from Epic visitors, Hall said. “That was the first time we made a figure on that scale walk,” Hall said. “And then he’s right next to Victoria, and they’re using extremely different technology.” Another big animatronic project was the “erumpent,” a charging beast in the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride. “We’re really all about, how do we get the fastest, smoothest motion moving this giant thing?” said Anisha Vyas, director of projects for Universal Creative. “It needs to be really visceral. It needs to move really fast. It needs to be moving really fluid,” she said. “Getting it to move and stop is not hard. Getting it to look pretty and gorgeous and realistic? That’s hard.” And the motion must be repeated for each load of passengers. “We ensure every guest has the same experience,” Vyas said. It all started with a bird? The seed for Disney’s animatronics — the company trademarked the term Audio-Animatronics in the 1960s — goes back to Walt and Lillian Disney’s purchase of a miniature caged-bird decoration that tweeted. That eventually led to Enchanted Tiki Room attractions such as the one at Magic Kingdom, which opened with the park in 1971. Animatronics got a major boost from “Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln,” developed by Disney for the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. Guests watched the faux former president give a speech, and Speigel witnessed this on a high-school trip to the event. “When he put his arms on that chair and he stood up and talked, the whole audience, I remember, just gasped,” he said. The 1960s technology propelled the show’s status, said Bob Rogers, chairman of BRC Imagination Arts. Otherwise, it might have been forgotten quickly, he said. “The fact that it was just a robot, not a human, was the charm,” Rogers said. Waiting for Walt Fast forward to 2025 and the installation of the Walt Disney animatronic at Disneyland. “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” is temporarily taking the place of the Lincoln animatronic presentation there. Some fans have criticized the look of the new figure. “It looks fine to me from a distance,” said Jeremiah Good, the Florida correspondent for LaughingPlace.com, “But people that were there for the opening that were in the front row filming every bit of it were going that doesn’t look a thing like Walt.” Critics are more forgiving about animatronic looks for animated beings as opposed to actual humans, Good said. He awaits the Walt Disney figure slated to join Carousel of Progress next year. “That is supposed to be a little bit older of a Walt, so that’ll be interesting to see,” Good said. “I think there are some opportunities there for the point in Walt’s life,” said Imagineering’s Orr, who noted that Florida’s animatronic would be seen in shorter but more frequent bursts at Magic Kingdom than its counterpart in California. “I also think there are things just logistically about the run time of shows — if you just look at the run time of the Disneyland, the frequency of that show, versus something like Carousel of Progress that is cycling through.” Louis the Alligator, Tiana and critters perform inside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel) Tech talk After pneumatic and hydraulic phases, animatronics are now settling into an all-electric era with computerized programming. Last year, Walt Disney Imagineering gave a public peek into the process with an episode of “We Call It Imagineering” on YouTube. This preceded the debut of figures for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the retheming of Splash Mountain at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. A big challenge was the development of Louis, the trumpet-toting alligator, considered one of WDI’s largest and most dynamic figures. “There’s a lot of moving parts. “So you have all of these layers, you’ve got fabric and it all has to be in sync,” said Sonny Chapman, principal illusion maker, in the episode. Louis’ big belly, upper torso and arms must work together with the costuming, all while he’s bouncing, looking happy and blinking. Imagineering has expanded into “stuntronics,” creating figures that can perform elaborate aerial acrobatic feats, including one dressed as Spider-Man at Disney California Adventure theme park. The company has also developed knee-high DBX droids, which made appearances at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer. “They’re wonderful not just because they’re robots, but because they are animated and they are written with stories.” Rogers said. “They express emotions. They’re doing things. They get frustrated when they can’t do what they’re trying to do. … That’s just wonderful.” Animatronics have proven, multigenerational staying power. “A lot of our engineers went to school just to work on animated figures. … That’s their thing,” Hall said. “They’re studying their whole lives, and they make their entire lives, and it’s time for their generation to show the next generation how to pass the baton. This is one of those moments that’s even bigger than just [theme] parks.” Vyas points to their entertainment value. “I just think they bring so much life to the environment,” she said. “I absolutely love that at Epic Universe we’ve doubled down on that. I really think that it just takes it to the next level.” dbevil@orlandosentinel.com View the full article

According to the Orlando Business Journal, there might be an expansion at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport. ©Orlando Business Journal On November 4th, the Kissimmee City Council will consider a memorandum with the Kissimmee Airport Development Co. LLC to lease and develop 119.9 acres on the southern border of the airport. The site includes part of the Kissimmee Municipal Gold Course, which closed in 2018. The agenda for the meeting said, “In recent years, the airport has been visited by aircraft manufacturers interested in locating operations to Kissimmee. However, due to the lack of infrastructure and utilities at the former golf course site, our responses did not meet their schedule and requirements. This places the property at an unfair disadvantage when competing against other airport sites.” ©Google Maps Two other companies have reached out to provide master development services for the land, but the city did not approve of their experience and funding. If the plan is approved, the Kissimee Airport Development Co. can begin surveying the land, conducting environmental studies, grading the site, and installing utilities. Orlando International Airport This would be the first step towards developing a full lease and development agreement. The director of aviation for Kissimmee Gateway Airport, Shaun Germolus, told the Orlando Business Journal last year that they completed their Airport Master Plan Update, which includes a layout of uses for the property, mostly for aeronautical development. Germolus also spoke about how the company had the expertise and resources to create new jobs and boost the aviation business. Southwest at MCO Germolus said, “They will be concentrating on surveying, geotechnical services, and environmental research. Conceptual plans for mass grading, storm water management, utility, and access plans will be developed to determine financial buildout costs, and access plans will be developed to determine financial buildout costs to assess moving forward with a master development agreement.” Orlando Sanford International Airport The Orlando International Airport is also working on an expansion that will take about ten years to complete. By 2030, they’re planning on increasing public parking by 8,000 spaces (and if you’ve ever tried parking at this airport, you know how valuable this is) and a new baggage handling system for Terminals A and B, as well as other features to increase efficiency. Disney Cruise Line’s standout Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float, “Magic Meets the Seas,” will once again sail through the streets of New York City and across a TV screen near you—this year with a brand-new signature song and Disney Destiny-themed performance. The showstopping float and holiday performance will star Captain Mickey Mouse, Captain Minnie Mouse, and a crew of their valiant friends as they celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated Disney Destiny this month. In true villain style, mischief makers Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and Dr. Facilier will commandeer the performance with a choreographic takeover set to the tune of “This is Your Destiny,” an infectious anthem written especially for this heroes-and-villains themed ship. The curious cast of characters set to appear in Disney Cruise Line’s Parade performance hint at some of the dastardly delights awaiting guests onboard the Disney Destiny. From a new Cruella de Vil-inspired lounge to unexpected encounters with Dr. Facilier in the ship’s Grand Hall, cruisers will be able to interact with their favorite Disney villains in all-new ways. The Disney Destiny will also bring a lineup of heroic Disney stories to sea with a “Disney Hercules” Broadway-style stage show, Incredibles-themed sweet shop and a first-of-its-kind The Lion King restaurant, which will feature live musical renditions of songs from the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film. Easy to recognize on the Parade route by its unique design, the “Magic Meets the Seas” float unites eight distinct Disney Cruise Line ship bows in a nod to the unprecedented growth of the fleet, which will expand to 13 ships by 2031. The float’s return to the iconic Parade builds on Disney’s excitement for families to experience unforgettable vacations in magical destinations around the world. And as a Disney Parks Blog reader, you’re among the first to hear “This is Your Destiny,” the soundtrack for Disney Cruise Line’s parade performance. The song’s empowering lyrics convey a heartfelt message to step boldly into your own destiny and evokes a sense of purpose, strength, and self-realization. In anticipation of the Disney Destiny’s official launch, you can find “This is Your Destiny” on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, and via the Instagram music library for use in posts and stories. Now it’s time to up the volume on the Disney Destiny’s new signature song and mark your calendar for Nov. 27, 2025, when Disney Cruise Line’s ultimate hero and villain-fueled performance will air during the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Oh, Starbucks, how we love you. We know the holidays are officially here when we see the holiday menu at Starbucks hit, and we say goodbye to Pumpkin Spice Lattes and welcome lots of peppermint and chocolate. Have yourself a very beary Christmas There’s a Starbucks in all four Disney World parks, but they’re hidden under a different name! We headed to the Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom (see, sneaky, huh? But yes, it’s a full Starbucks with so many favorites) to try out a few new items to see if it’s worth a stop. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. First up, we had the Polar Bear Cake Pop for $3.45. Polar Bear Cake Pop This was just too dang cute to eat! Come on, look at the adorableness. When we finally took a bite after admiring it, it tasted SO good. Our reporter, who isn’t a huge fan of cake pops, loved it and said they would get it again, which is a huge compliment. It was coated in a light white chocolate, and the vanilla cake on the inside was soft and fluffy. It broke apart easily in your mouth, but wasn’t so soft that it crumbled. It tasted a majority like white chocolate, which is perfect for a polar bear. SO good Then we had the Cinnamon Pull Apart for $4.95. Cinnamon Pull Apart The Cinnamon Pull Apart was like a cinnamon bun but without the icing. It was extremely fluffy, like eating a sugary cloud! It reminded us of a Wetzel Pretzel with cinnamon sugar, but a little less sugary, which we preferred. It pulled apart easily, and it was a good-sized portion, and a snack we will be grabbing again. FLUFFY! We ended with an Iced Peppermint Mocha for $6.49. Iced Peppermint Mocha We loved how right off the bat, this wasn’t over-the-top minty like toothpaste, but was that perfect balance of peppermint. The coffee taste isn’t very strong, and the whole drink felt refreshing and like a comfort drink around the holidays. It sips easily, and you can taste small flakes of dark chocolate as you drink. It was a great drink, and we’re totally going to be getting this again. The holidays are here! Have you seen the viral Teddy Bear Starbucks Cup? This adorable bear that looks like a honey jar is completely selling out across stores everywhere. ©Amazon Lucky for you, we found a replica on Amazon that’s in stock! You can order it online and get that super cute bear for your morning coffee. SHOP NOW You can also buy a Teddy Bear Cup Three Pack, which is perfect for easy stocking stuffers and holiday gifts. ©Amazon I’m obsessed with the bear’s little hat that looks knitted on top. Let’s face it — 2026 could be a rough year for Disney World as it continues to progress through several construction projects. Still, that doesn’t mean some new things aren’t opening. ©Disney We’re seeing quite a few ride changes in 2026 at Disney World! Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is getting a Muppets retheme, Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is finally reopening after a year-plus closure with new effects and an updated track, and big things are happening at EPCOT, including new faces coming to the animatronics of Frozen Ever After and Soarin’ getting an “Across America” update during the country’s 250th anniversary celebration. However, we’ll also be seeing multiple new locations pop up over the theme park resort! Disney has confirmed a new theme park area coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a new bar opening at a popular hotel, and has hinted at a new entertainment experience beginning work soon in Disney Springs. Without further ado, let’s check out these additions! The Magic of Animation Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios permanently closed on September 25, 2025, and is being transformed into the Magic of Disney Animation! Part of the larger “Walt Disney Studios Lot” reimagining, this new offering will open in 2026 as a “special nod to the legendary Walt Disney Studios Lot” in Burbank, California (including Mickey’s famous Sorcerer Hat). Here, Disney Animation characters will “leap off the screen and into our world.” ©Disney The new land will keep Animation Courtyard’s The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure and Walt Disney Presents, while introducing brand-new experiences inspired by beloved Disney characters and the “Once Upon a Studio” short film. We’re getting updated meet-and-greets, new drawing classes, and interactive experiences for guests of all ages, such as play zones like a “Drawn to Wonderland” garden/playground setting. During the transformation, Star Wars Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play and Dance permanently closed, although “a fresh Disney Jr. show” has been teased. The Perch Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, a new lobby bar is currently being installed! Construction as of October 9th, 2025 Although it’s opening in 2025 (November 10th, to be exact), The Perch will still be fresh in 2026. This birdcage bar (inspired by a birdcage that was once found in the lobby) features beautiful woodwork, herringbone tile, and custom stained glass, all while serving up champagne, wine, beer, and two signature cocktails (the Sunshine State Rum Sazerac and the Floridian 75). A non-alcoholic option is also available (the Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea is a blend of lemon, blueberry, and basil tea). Level99 While not confirmed to open in 2026, Disney has already begun hiring for Level99 in Disney Springs, and construction is underway, so we’ve begun speculating. Construction walls This space will be an interactive, social entertainment experience that presents “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” for adults. Expect to see physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments, such as 60 challenge rooms and duels in a futuristic arcade setting. The largest location of this chain, the Disney Springs Level99 will be 45,000 square feet in a two-story space and will feature dining with a chef-crafted menu — including LEVEL99’s award-winning Detroit-style pizza! These are the days that Disney Adults have circled in their calendar for months. We’ve pored over every detail, analyzed every concept art image, and have had our park reservation booked for weeks. That’s right, a new attraction has opened at Disney World, and our time to shine has come. Zootopia: Better Zoogether Animal Kingdom is going through a massive transformation right now to add Pueblo Esperanza, the Tropical Americas themed land taking over DinoLand U.S.A., and with all the excitement of Encanto and Indiana Jones, you might have forgotten that a new show is moving into the Tree of Life. Zootopia: Better Zoogether has officially opened in Animal Kingdom, and we’re here to spill all the details. Zootopia: Better Zoogether is in the Tree of Life in Discovery Island. Once you walk down the big hill towards the tree, make a right, and you’ll see the show! They have new, bright, and colorful signs welcoming you to the world of Zootopia. Opening day crowds Discovery Island is BUSY, probably one of the busiest times we’ve seen it. Despite this, the lines for the show aren’t too high! We saw it jump to 40 minutes, but it’s been around 20 minutes since then. The show is about 9 minutes long and has a decent-sized capacity, so they’re moving through people pretty fast. We found that our wait time was very accurate when we were waiting ©Disney You can also purchase a Lightning Lane for this attraction through the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. On opening day, it costs $22, and you’ll also be able to book other attractions in Animal Kingdom. Lines We were able to see the show during an early preview, where we shared all the fun and interactive parts, so if you’re ready for spoilers, you can check that out here. I will say, don’t forget to check out the queue and holding room for more details. My favorite part is that the benches don’t stab you in the back with a puff of air to mimic a hornet’s sting (may It’s Tough to be a Bug rest in peace — but not too peaceful). FULL REVIEW OF ZOOTOPIA: BETTER ZOOGETHER We love the animatronic! For the new Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde meet and greet, which is right next to the show, you’ll have to grab a virtual queue. This time, it isn’t in the app, but you’ll head straight to the meet-and-greet, where you’ll get in line, sign up, and receive a text once your time is called. On opening day, it took us about 1 hour to get our text to return, then 40 minutes in the physical line. When we spoke with Cast Members, they weren’t sure how long this virtual queue would be in place, so you might want to wander over to see what’s hopping if you’re looking to meet them. Judy and Nick in Animal Kingdom Don’t forget to check out all the snacks and merchandise for the new show and Zootopia 2 as well. The food is so cute and themed to perfection. REVIEW: 2 TREATS HAVE DROPPED FOR NEW ZOOTOPIA ATTRACTION New Zootopia snacks have arrived! Did you know Disney World has TWO food and wine festivals?! The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is a very well-known and popular experience for foodies, families, tourists, and locals, but there is actually ANOTHER food and wine festival that is a little less known but just as exciting. 2024 Food and Wine Classic The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts host the annual Food & Wine Classic. This year, the event takes place on November 14th and 15th and will feature gourmet cuisine, fine wines, beers, and cocktails, and live entertainment, including seminars and fireworks! The Food & Wine Classic is a fun event that we love visiting every year. If you plan to go in 2025, here are two rules you’ll want to follow to make your time there even more memorable! Be Flexible with Your Seating Arrangements (and Be Willing To Share!) There are a lot of people who visit the Food and Wine Classic, so sometimes finding a place to set your plate down can be challenging. That’s why we recommend being flexible with where you sit or stand to eat. You may have to wait for a table to open up. Crowds at the 2024 Food and Wine Classic An even better idea is to be willing to share a table if you’re not using the whole thing! Be friendly and invite people to share with you if you see someone with a plate of food and nowhere to set it. And if you see someone only using a portion of their table, ask nicely if you can share with them (and if someone asks you to share your table, consider making a new friend!). Consider sharing your table! We did this last year, and it worked out great for us and those we shared our tables with! It’s a great way to be friendly and to even meet others from around the world. Start with the New Restaurant’s Booths Just as there is a huge debate about where to start at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, you’ll likely run into the same problem here. We recommend trying the new restaurant’s booths first! Bourbon Steak There are so many great restaurants showcased at the event, such as Cabana Bar & Beach Club, The Fountain, Il Mulino New York Trattoria, and Amare, but when we tried the Bourbon Steak samples at a preview recently, we were floored. This food was incredible. The Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib with Celery Root Espuma and Shallot Marmalade was incredible. Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib The beef was so tender that it fell apart like butter. It had a rich, deep, and buttery flavor, and the pairings were perfect. We loved this new restaurant when we reviewed it for its opening this past summer, so it’s not surprising how great its samples are at the Food and Wine Classic. There will be over 150 vendors at the event, but we recommend starting with Bourbon Steak! BONUS TIP: Bring Layers! You might think that since you’re in Florida, it doesn’t get cold, but that is not necessarily the case! By November, the evenings can get quite crisp. When the sun goes down, the party lights come on, but the air gets chilly. We definitely suggest packing a few light layers for your evening at the Classic. These can be a light scarf, a light shawl, and/or a light jacket. When the sun goes down, it gets chilly! The Food and Wine Classic takes place from 5-9 PM on both November 14th and 15th. Unlimited samples, entertainment, and seminars are included in the price of your ticket. So once you’ve paid for your entrance into the event, you can eat and drink endlessly and enjoy the fun. Tickets cost $205 per person ($224.01 after taxes and fees) for one night or $369 per person ($403.30 after taxes and fees) for both nights. 2024 food booth setup Trust us, this is an event you do not want to miss! If you’re visiting Disney World for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival around the 14th or 15th of November, swing by the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic, as well. And stay tuned to DFB for coverage of the first day of the event! Okay, so Disney’s Animal Kingdom is under a lot of construction now, and even more construction is on the way. Right now, Disney is closing Dinoland, U.S.A. in phases as it creates a brand new land, Pueblo Esperanza. Recently, the show inside the Tree of Life, It’s Tough To Be A Bug, closed to make way for a new show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether (and we got to see it!). Constructoin walls in Animal Kingdom Well, another set of construction walls has appeared at an Animal Kingdom attraction, Gorilla Falls, and we just wanted to warn you ahead of time so it doesn’t catch you by surprise. Gorilla Falls is one of the exploration trails in Animal Kingdom. Here, you can get a close-up look at some of the animals that call Animal Kingdom home, like gorillas, hippos, zebras, meerkats, and more. Well, we visited Gorilla Falls recently and discovered that part of the trail has construction walls around it. New construction walls Disney has placed posters on the walls with quotes that relate to Animal Kingdom, like this quote from the movie Up. Squirrel! The construction walls are around the Angola colobus exhibit (aka those black and white monkeys you can see on the trail). The exhibit has been closed for a little while, so it seems like some work is being done on the monkey’s enclosure. You can see scaffolding behind the walls, so it looks like the monkeys’ area might be getting an update. Around the monkey enclosure However, the rest of Gorilla Falls is still open, so you can still walk through it and see the other wildlife present there. I personally recommend visiting all the trails in the park because I believe they’re one of the best parts of Animal Kingdom. You’ll find all the trails’ locations in the My Disney Experience app, as well as on the Animal Kingdom park map. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney World is visited by millions of people every year. There are busier times and slower times, but no matter what, security lines to get into the parks can be VERY long. It’s important that Disney has security at the entry to every park, but you’ll want to budget time in for standing in the lines. Security at Disney World As you head to the parks, you’ll want to plan accordingly, especially on days expected to be crowded (such as major holidays). So we’re sharing 6 ways to skip those long security lines in Disney World and save a little time. Magic Kingdom Monorail Hotel Security Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are the three monorail resort hotels that have direct transportation to Magic Kingdom. Before you hop onto the monorail, you go through security at the hotel. Monorail security at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Since there are far fewer people at your hotel headed to Magic Kingdom than parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center or coming on the Disney buses, there will likely be a much shorter line. Direct transportation to the Magic Kingdom and a shorter security line may be good reasons to book your stay at one of these three hotels! Contemporary Monorail Security Area If you don’t plan on staying at one of the monorail hotels, it’s less likely that you’ll get to use this trick. In order for non-staying guests to park at one of these hotels, you’ll need a dining reservation or other valid reason. Generally, you can’t simply park at these hotels just to use the monorail to go to Magic Kingdom. Walkway from Disney’s Contemporary Resort The Contemporary Resort offers the monorail AND a walkway to the Magic Kingdom. If you choose to walk to the park, you’ll come up to a security checkpoint prior to getting to the park. This line is also usually much shorter since far fewer people use this option. Contemporary Walkway Again, this is generally a trick guests of the Contemporary can use. Unless you have a dining reservation or other valid reason to park at the Contemporary, you most likely won’t be able to park here just to walk to Magic Kingdom. EPCOT International Gateway If you’re staying at a Skyliner Resort or an EPCOT resort hotel, the International Gateway entrance into EPCOT will likely have a shorter line than the main entrance at the front of the park. It may not be a SHORT line since there are quite a few hotels and their guests that have access to this entrance first thing in the morning, but the wait will probably be less than at the main entrance. International Gateway People staying at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, or the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts are just walking distance (or a short boat ride) from the International Gateway entrance. However, similar to the monorail resorts, you most likely won’t be able to park at these resorts or the Skyliner Resorts just to use the International Gateway entrance, so it might be a big benefit to stay at one of these hotels during your trip. General Tips Get In Those Steps When you arrive at a security checkpoint, look for the line furthest away from you. That is probably going to be the shortest line. Most people just go straight up the first few lines, so if you walk to the line furthest away, you’ll probably be one of the few that do so. Checkpoint at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Yes, it will add to your step count for the day, but it’s totally worth it. Get There Early If you want to rope drop and be at the park right away in the morning, get there extra early. Plan to be at the park 30-45 minutes early so you beat the rush and have a shorter line at security (and the entrance gate). TTC security You’ll need to build this extra time into your plan, so be ready to go bright and early in the morning. Go Way Later On the other hand, if you don’t want to get to the parks that early, you could always go a couple of hours after the park opens. This will also often result in shorter lines at security and the park entrance. Hollywood Studios Security There are two kinds of people: the rope droppers and the snoozers. Both can result in shorter lines at security if you play your cards right. EPCOT International Gateway None of these options is foolproof. There is always a chance you’ll run into long lines at the parks, but hopefully, you can avoid the worst of it by following these 6 ideas! We hope you have a great trip, and in the meantime, keep following DFB for more tips and tricks.
