  1. The holidays have arrived at Disney World, and our team is ready to get JOLLY! We’re here! We are here on the first night of Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2025. Come along with us as we eat and see EVERYTHING at this year’s party so you can be in the know. Let’s go! This post will be updated throughout the evening as we experience more of Jollywood Nights, so make sure to keep checking back for the latest updates! Crowds The event runs from 7:30PM until 12:30AM, but with a party ticket, you can get into Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning at 6PM. So, we made sure we were at the entrance and were ready to go by 6PM. The lines were LONG when we arrived! The line to get in was ridiculously long for the first night, with several switchbacks and close quarters. They had to start letting people in a little early because we were LITERALLY running out of space. We’ll be interested to see how these crowds translate once we’re inside the park. WOAH Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed event that happens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on select nights from November 8th and December 22nd, 2025. Party Map You will also be able to pick up your party map once you are inside Hollywood Studios. It will have all the information you need, including details about entertainment, which attractions are open, dining locations, and other event activities! It’s the map! The map inside will give you a detailed look of all the locations of interest during the party! You will be able to take a look at Entertainment Highlights and see where you can meet characters, find PhotoPass photographers, and more. A look at this year’s map The map this year is jam-packed with information, and it is a hefty guide! Cast Members were handing out maps as we walked in, so it should be easy to find one when you arrive. All the info! It’s also a pretty nice souvenir from your party visit! This year’s version feels high quality and has pretty much anything you’d want to know about the event inside. Character info Seriously, this will make your evening so much smoother! Thanks for following along with us at Jollywood Nights! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more holiday news at the Disney parks. 2. Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! Magic Kingdom Disney World wait times have a reputation for being, well, unpredictable. Sure, we can look at past data to get an estimate of the crowd levels in Disney World, but you never know what may happen from year to year. This year, for example, wait times for late October into early November appear to be pretty low. As we get closer and closer to Christmas, we expect those wait times to increase. Is this the calm before the storm? Take a look at this week’s average wait times for proof! This is everything you need to know about the average wait times in Disney World over the past seven days. There are very few waits over an hour, which is incredible. As October turns into November, is this one of the best times to visit the parks? It just might be — but we’ll let you decide! 4. There is nothing worse than running up to your favorite attraction and seeing that sign outside saying it’s closed for a refurbishment. That’s why we keep up on all the closures around Disney World so you can know what’s happening before you scan into the parks and run (okay, walk quickly) to the best attraction around. Walls, walls, walls Let’s take a look at everything closed in Disney World from November 8th to 15th. Magic Kingdom Mickey’s PhilharMagic Mickey’s PhilharMagic This fun, indoor show closed on November 1st, 2025, for a refurbishment and is planned to reopen in late November. Right now, based on the operating hours on the Disney World website, it could be open on November 23rd, ready for you to grab your 3D glasses and enter beloved Disney animation. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin ©Disney This attraction closed on August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to open in 2026, but don’t worry, we think it will be worth the wait. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is undergoing major changes, including the ability to pick up blasters and more reactive targets. There’s even going to be a new ride scene with a new character! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island Big Al checking out the construction! Back in July, we said our final goodbyes to the Liberty Square River Boat, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Rivers of America to make way for the new Cars land expansion. Piston Peak will have two attractions, including an off-roading racing one. While construction is underway, we don’t have an opening timeline for the land. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ©Disney It’s been so long without my Big Thunder Mountain! On January 6th, the ride closed for an extended refurbishment to welcome in some new magic. Disney is adding “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalacites (the ones on the ceiling). I’m so excited to see the Rainbow Caverns, but even more excited to be back on the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness. Tortuga Tavern Tortuga Tavern Oh, Tortuga Tavern, what are we going to do with you? This was a seasonal restaurant that hadn’t been used for more than a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We had spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the floor, but all of that has been taken down, and we’re not sure if this restaurant will ever reopen. We’re always keeping a side eye on it, just in case. Animal Kingdom Harambe Market Harambe Market This quick-service dining location has temporarily closed as of October 20th and is expected to reopen in early 2026. We’re not expecting major changes here, but Disney did say at one point that favorites from Restaurantosaurus would make their way to Harambe Market once it closes permanently in February. Kali River Rapids Walls, walls, walls This water ride closed in October for a refurbishment and is set to open in December. While checking the calendar on the Disney World website, we can see available times starting January 1st, so this few-month-long refurbishment might be over soon! It’s not uncommon to see it closed during the colder months since it’s a great time to work on it. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, The Boneyard, Dino Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites So excited for Encanto! We have one more phase of closures for DinoLand U.S.A. before it’s all over! DinoLand is closing permanently to make way for Pueblo Esperanza, a tropical-themed land. The final phase will be on February 2nd, and then we have Encanto and Indiana Jones to look forward to! It’s Tough to Be a Bug We love the animatronic! Bye-bye, It’s Tough to Be a Bug! This show closed to welcome Zootopia: Better Zoogether, a new show in the Tree of Life. Zootopia: Better Zoogether officially opened, and you go back inside the tree with your pair of 3D glasses for the nine-minute show. Don’t forget to check out the Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps meet and greet next door, too. Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun Vacation Fun This short animated show closed on October 20th for refurbishment and is expected to reopen later this year. This theater is one of our favorite air-conditioned spots to go in during the summer, so we’ll be glad it’s in tip-top shape when it starts to get hot again. Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed in September to turn into Walt Disney Studios, which is planned to open in 2026. Star Wars Launch Bay is turning into The Magic of Disney Animation, where you can learn about different roles in animation in fun and interactive ways. Disney Jr. Play and Dance! is getting a new Disney Jr. show when it reopens as well. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure and Walt Disney Presents are staying open during the refurbishment. Muppets Courtyard Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano all reopened this year for Monsters, Inc. themed land. Above the construction walls, we’re slowly seeing signs being taken down as they work on the new hanging door roller coaster behind the space and turn Muppet*Vision into a new show. Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach is taking a hiatus while letting Typhoon Lagoon take its time to shine! Both water parks were open during the summer, but Blizzard Beach is now closed for refurbishment, leaving Typhoon Lagoon as the only water park open. Disney World Hotels Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort Promenade Fine Art The fine art store closed in October and will be moving to a new location. We currently don’t have any information on when it will be reopened. The Paddock Pool, Aquatic Play Area, and The Paddock Grill — Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort Pina CoLava The pools, play areas, and grill were closed in mid-October and are set to reopen early December after routine maintenance. It’s pretty common to see lots of pools and water rides being worked on during the winter so they’re ready to be busy during the summer. Leisure Pool at Miller’s Road — Disney’s Old Key West Resort Turtle Shack Pool at Old Key West From September 29th to late November, the leisure pool will be closed for, once again, routine maintenance. The Sandcastle Pool and both leisure pools at the Old Turtle Pond and South Point are still open for plenty of pool time. The Samawati Springs Pool Slide — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Samawati Springs Pool The slide closed in early September, and we currently don’t have a reopening date for when we can get some water slide fun. The pool is still open and there’s a slide at the Uzima Springs Pool, too. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls We’re still sad about this one! Jellyrolls closed in April with the promise of reopening at a different location. We haven’t heard any news on where the new location will be and when it’s opening, but best believe we will be there ready to enjoy the space when it reopens. 6. It’s always exciting when a new bar opens in Disney World because there’s that cool thing where we get to visit it for the very first time (which is something we’ll never get to do again). Drinks from The Perch Now, we’ve been pretty excited about all the changes happening in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, but the biggest thing we’ve been looking forward to is visiting the birdcage-inspired bar aptly named The Perch. Well, The Perch soft opened early (it’s supposed to officially open on November 10th), and we had a chance to have a few drinks and try it out. Atmosphere If you’ve visited Disney’s Grand Floridian recently, you might have noticed a lot of construction happening in the lobby. The idea is a kind of over-the-top Victorian elegance thing happening in the lobby, and Disney has doubled down on the theme with the lobby’s new look. Updated Grand Floridian lobby The lobby includes The Perch, a new bar inspired by the birdcage that used to be in the Grand Floridian. It’s done up in gorgeous wooden tones. The Perch is open The bar counter features marble with neutral chairs that have a pretty floral pattern on them. Marble counters You’ll find some seating at the bar, although it’s pretty limited. But there’s nothing stopping you from grabbing your drink and sitting in the massive lobby to drink it. Not a lot of seating at the bar You’ll find USB ports and outlets at the bar so you can charge your devices while you enjoy a drink. There are also hooks beneath the bar where you can hang your purse or bag. Charge your devices while you enjoy a drink! The lighting fixtures are these gorgeous crystal orbs. Everything about this bar feels like old money. The lighting fixtures are GORGEOUS There’s a stunning stained glass window behind the bar itself. Stained glass window behind the bar But enough about this bar’s atmosphere. What’s on the menu? Menu The menu here features some specialty cocktails, unique to this location, as well as wines, beer, and a non-alcoholic drink. The menu So let’s talk about those drinks! Drinks To start, we ordered the Sunshine State Rum Sazerac for $17.50. It’s made with Siesta Key Coffee Rum, Demerara, Absinthe Rinse, Peychaud’s Bitters, and Lemon Essence. Now, the Sazerac is a drink you don’t want to miss out on. It’s unique, and the rum in it has a low coffee taste. It’s a drink made with good quality ingredients, which means it’s worth the price. Sunshine State Rum Sazerac We also tried the Floridian 75, made with Fords Gin, Florida Citrus Cordial, and Lemon topped with Taittinger ‘La Francaise’ Brut Champagne for $22. It’s got a bumbly champagne feel in the mouth, but it’s also punchy, citrusy, and zesty. It’s like an elevated version of the French 75 you would get at a restaurant like Be Our Guest. Floriidan 75 Finally, we tried the non-alcoholic Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea for $8. This one surprised and delighted us. It’s made with brewed Twinings Iced Tea, Lemon, Blueberry, and Basil. It’s a nice blueberry iced tea with some elevated notes to take it up a notch. You have that familiar taste of the tea, but then you get that nice fruitiness of the blueberry with just a hint of the basil’s earthy flavor. Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea If you want something that isn’t alcoholic, you’ll still feel like you’re living large if you order this drink. Overall We were blown away by The Perch. Not only is this bar just beautiful, but it serves drinks that are elevated in the best pay possible (and would you expect anything less at the Grand Floridian?). It’s on par with some of our favorite luxe-feeling bars like Enchanted Rose and GEO-82. If you need to get away from the chaos of Magic Kingdom, this bar could make for a nice midday break where you can chill with a drink and experience a little elegance away from the hot and sweaty crowds. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! But when you’re walking MILES and MILES each day in Disney World, the right shoe can make or break how you feel at the end of the day. We don’t want to see anyone limping their way through the parks. One of our favorite shoes That’s why we always try out shoes in the parks so we can recommend them. Now, we have one trusted sneaker brand that has been put through its paces (and I own these shoes myself). We can say with complete confidence that these can last through 10-hour — and more — days in Disney World. Get the Hoka Women’s Clifton 10 Sneakers Our Hokas So the first time we put on these shoes, they felt so cushiony that we thought we were walking on air. And that’s the kind of cushioning you need when you’re on your feet all day in Disney World. These are also great for folks with high arches, and although they’re pricey, they’re also durable. Hokas We’ve worn these to the parks MANY times, and we haven’t noticed any wear or tear. They also still feel springy after hundreds of miles of walking. They cradle your feet for ultimate comfort. And although a lot of sneakers like this come off bulky, most of what you’ll find in these shoes is the height from all that extra cushioning, so they don’t look super bulky on your feet. View on Amazon Get the Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 Sneakers ©Amazon Coming in a close second are the Brooks Ghost 17s. These are typically targeted at runners, but they also make for a great park shoe, too. They fit well and they can support your feet ALL day long. They have a nice, balanced feel, so each step feels smooth. They seem a little heavy at first, but once you walk around in them, you feel them conform around your foot. They also have some nice cushioning and bounce. ©Amazon Walking almost feels like gliding in these babies. Yes, they’re pricey, too, but you’ve already spent a TON on your Disney World trip, so it’s worth it to pay a little extra for shoes that won’t ruin that trip. 10. It’s the little things in life that keep us coming back to Disney World every day. Yes, we love incredible new rides, rare characters popping out of nowhere, and upcoming expansions to be built, but sometimes all we need is a simple snack to keep us coming. Cub Soda Disney World feels like it’s turning into Zootopia with the new show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, Zootopia 2 coming out, and new snacks appearing every day. We’re back in Animal Kingdom, trying out another drink themed to our favorite dynamic duo. Meet the Cub Soda for $6.29 at Eight Spoons Cafe. This is made of Sprite, blueberry syrup, and a Pawpsicle-inspired ice cube. Sprite and a blueberry syrup We know it doesn’t look like much, but we changed our minds after a sip. Disney World almost never offers specialty sodas, so we knew we had to try one to see if it’s worth the price, since a Sprite from the soda fountain is $4.79. Each sip was very balanced, with the right amount of blueberry flavor, and the soda’s sweetness came through, so neither flavor was overly strong. SO cute The whole drink was refreshing, and we loved that there was finally a fun drink for kids, especially with it being caffeine-free. The ice cube, of course, is super cute, and we know the littles ones (okay, and the adults) are going to love taking fun photos and have a little soda pick-me-up. Now, do we think this could be a little expensive for a soda? Maybe, but bottled sodas are about $5.50, so it’s only a small upgrade for something that feels more special and fun. Eight Spoons Cafe We’ve been trying all the Zootopia treats around Animal Kingdom right now, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more tips on what to eat and drink during your next Disney World vacation. 11. There’s just something about McDonald’s that scratches an itch most other restaurants can’t — including one’s at Disney World! McDonald’s Even though Disney World has so many amazing restaurants, it’s hard to resist the McDonald’s urge. The quintessential quick-service restaurant, our staff agrees that there are just some things McDonald’s does better than its competition at Disney World. Are we saying that McDonald’s is overall better than Disney dining? Absolutely not. But you don’t get to the top of the global food chain market without offering some really elite things. McDonald’s For starters, we HAVE to mention the fries. While we love Disney World fries, McDonald’s fries are just so iconic. Crispy, tasty, and classic, McDonald’s fries are often thought of as one of fast food’s superior fries — and it’s hard to argue, especially when you get them hot and fresh. McDonald’s Additionally, while the quick-service burgers at Disney World are solid, it’s really tough to top a Big Mac. McDonald’s most popular items are popular for a reason. ©McDonald’s Disney World desserts are often brilliant, but sometimes we just want soft-serve ice cream with toppings, like a McFlurry. Few things in life hit the same way as a McFlurry on a hot day — or any day, really. ©McDonald’s Disney World’s quick-service restaurants do offer kids’ meals, but McDonald’s has them beat, as a Happy Meal also comes with a toy. If a kids’ meal came with a free souvenir at places like Cosmic Ray’s, maybe this point wouldn’t be valid. Alas, if your kid wants a toy with their meal at Disney World, you’ll have to bring one yourself or buy one. ©McDonald’s Let’s talk price. While you can get free refills at some quick-service locations at Disney World, that’s not a concern at McDonald’s. In some locations, McDonald’s also has a deal where you can pay one price for any-sized cup. AND, generally speaking, the food at McDonald’s is still relatively cheaper than food inside Disney World. Then you factor in the rewards program and app rewards — simply stuff you really don’t get outside of the Annual Passholder and Cast Member discounts. But with the McDonald’s app, you can get free items and big-time deals. We also love that you can get your food delivered to you with services like DoorDash. McDonald’s And finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that you can get custom-blend teas at McDonald’s instead of the Gold Peak available at Disney World — and for us, that’s a major perk. Huckleberry-Citrus Cooler: Gold Peak Black Tea, huckleberry and agave syrups, grapefruit soda, and lemon and orange juices garnished with an orange wedge (Non-alcoholic beverage) What did we nail? What did we miss? Which points would you argue against? 14. Disney World trips are expensive enough without the added stress of hotel prices that make you do a double take. © DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando – Disney Springs Area If you’re planning a 2026 Disney World vacation and trying to cut costs without giving up convenience, you might be surprised by what we found near Disney Springs. We checked room rates for several Disney Springs Area Hotels in early May 2026, and some of them came in way lower than you’d expect. We’re talking as low as $142 per night. These hotels aren’t just budget-friendly; they also keep you close to the magic with perks and easy access to the parks. Let’s take a look at what we found. Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs Area If you’re trying to keep your costs really low, have a look at this one. The Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista had rooms starting at just $142.10 per night for the dates we checked (May 3rd–7th, 2026). That’s for a 2 Double Beds, Non-Smoking room. Even if you want a slightly better view, the upgrades don’t push the price up too much. A Courtyard View room runs around $149.90, and a Lake View goes for $157.70. There’s even a Mobility Accessible option at the same $142.10 rate. ©2025 Wyndham Franchisor, LLC This hotel is located directly across from Disney Springs, which means you can easily walk to dozens of dining and shopping options, perfect for anyone who loves late-night Ghirardelli runs or spontaneous shopping trips to World of Disney. It also offers Early Theme Park Entry for guests, so you’re not missing out on that key on-property perk. DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando – Disney Springs Area The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton is another great pick if you’re traveling with a family or just want more space to spread out. The rooms here are all suites, which means you’ll have a separate living area (something you don’t always find in this price range near Disney). For our test dates, rates started at $170 per night for a 1 King 1 Bedroom Suite Mobility/Hearing Accessible Room with a Roll-In Shower, and most of the standard suites hovered around $180. If you need a bit more room, you can upgrade to a 2 Queens 1 Bedroom Suite with a Sofa Bed or an Oversized 1 Bedroom Suite for $188 per night. ©2025 Hilton The biggest draw here is comfort. Every room has a living room and mini kitchenette, which can help you save money on meals. Holiday Inn Orlando – Disney Springs Area If you’ve stayed here before, you know it’s one of the most reliable mid-range options near Disney Springs. The Holiday Inn Orlando offers comfortable rooms and balcony views without straying into luxury pricing. For May 3rd–7th, 2026, we found rates starting at $179 for a 2 Queen Standard Balcony room and $186 for a 2 Queen Standard room. If you want a Pool View, it’s still under $200 at $196 per night. ©2025 IHG This hotel is just an easy walk away from Disney Springs and has a full-service restaurant, on-site pool, and a complimentary shuttle service to the Disney parks. Renaissance Orlando Resort & Spa – Disney Springs Resort Area For those who want something that feels a bit more upscale but still fits within a moderate budget, the Renaissance Orlando Resort & Spa might be the perfect middle ground. We found rooms here as low as $166 per night for a Double Queen City View guest room. That’s impressive considering this hotel leans into the resort experience with a spa, large pool area, and several on-site dining options. ©1996 – 2025 Marriott International, Inc. Upgraded rooms, like Pool View or High Floor Resort View, were listed around $192, keeping them under that $200 mark. If you want a hotel that feels like a “treat yourself” option without spending Disney Deluxe Resort prices, this is one to keep an eye on. Why These Hotels Are Worth a Look All of these hotels are part of the Disney Springs Resort Area, meaning you can take advantage of select on-property perks — like Early Theme Park Entry — while still saving a good chunk of money compared to Disney-owned resorts. They’re also within walking distance (or a quick shuttle ride) to Disney Springs, which gives you easy access to some of Disney’s best restaurants and shopping without needing park admission. Disney Springs With rooms starting around $142 per night, it’s worth running your own searches for your trip dates to see how prices compare. While Disney resort hotels offer plenty of magic, these nearby options can give you comfort, convenience, and big savings, which means more money left for Mickey-shaped snacks, unique drinks, or a few souvenirs you didn’t plan to buy but will absolutely end up taking home. We’re constantly looking for ways to help you save money on your next Disney World vacation. Be sure to stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog for even more tips, tricks, and specials! 15. This year, the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game is celebrating its 2nd anniversary. Since the game launched in 2023, Illumineers have journeyed through ten different sets featuring many iconic Disney characters, seen the introduction of dual-ink cards in February, discovered two new card rarities (Epic and Iconic) in August, and witnessed the crowning of the first Disney Lorcana TCG World Champion in June. Whether or not you’ve already gone on a quest, now is a great time to learn the lore behind Disney Lorcana TCG! In honor of the anniversary celebration, we’re walking you through everything you need to know before you step into your first adventure. What is Disney Lorcana? Disney Lorcana is a thrilling trading card game that takes place in a magical realm where you team up with versions of beloved characters, called glimmers. In some cases, glimmers will appear exactly like the characters you know and love, while others will be fantastically reimagined. You’ll summon these character glimmers using magical ink then embark on a quest to be the first to gain 20 lore. Players, called Illumineers in Disney Lorcana, can think of lore as a race to reach 20 points before their opponent(s). In addition to character glimmers, Illumineers will also encounter other types of glimmers, including iconic items, timeless songs, and even famous Disney locations. Just like their character counterparts, these glimmers can also be summoned using magical ink. What are the Different Disney Lorcana Sets Out There like Fabled or Reign of Jafar? Disney Lorana TCG has released ten different sets of cards. A “set” or “expansion” is a dedicated number of cards that introduces new glimmer, item, action, and location cards to the game. Each set consists of more than 200 new standard cards and is typically set to a theme designed to expand the Lore or story. Typically, there are four new “sets” of Disney Lorcana TCG released annually. The first Disney Lorcana TCG set, The First Chapter, released in 2023 and is where the story begins. The set contains 204 standard cards and every single one has a foil (a shiny card) and non-foil version – meaning there are 408 cards in total from the standard set of The First Chapter alone. There were also 12 cards of the Enchanted rarity with numbering that goes past 204. These are alternate art versions of standard cards in the set that contain no borders. At the release of The First Chapter, Enchanted was the highest rarity in the game. Up until the release of Fabled in August 2025, all sets followed the same format as The First Chapter, with 204 standard cards with foil versions, as well the special full-art Enchanted cards. Starting with Fabled, Disney Lorcana TCG added two new rarities, Epic and Iconic, increasing the number of cards available for fans to find each set. The First Chapter Rise of the Floodborn Into the Inklands Ursula’s Return Shimmering Skies Azurite Sea (Introduction of Dual Ink Cards) Archazia’s Island Reign of Jafar Fabled (Introduction of Epic and Iconic rarity cards) Whispers in the Well What are the Types of Lorcana Cards and Rarities? There are four basic types of cards in Disney Lorcana. Glimmer Cards Glimmer cards representing favorite Disney characters are at the core of the game, as they help Illumineers (players) quest to gain lore. Additionally, glimmers can also challenge opponents, which is often a key strategy for ensuring victory. Item Cards Item cards are also incredibly helpful. These versatile objects offer varying benefits from providing additional abilities every turn, helping you gather lore, or slow down your opponent. Action Cards Actions are one-time use cards. Providing quick gameplay benefits, they can help turn the tide in your favor. Songs are a special type of action card, which, if desired, can be “sung” by character glimmers. Location Cards These cards can provide additional abilities to glimmers who travel to them. Some locations even give you lore at the start of your turn. Lorcana Rarity Symbols No matter the type, each card in Disney Lorcana TCG is assigned a particular rarity, indicating how difficult they are to find. From easiest to hardest, these are: Common Uncommon Rare Super Rare Legendary Epic Enchanted Iconic Every card is a work of art, but the harder the card is to find, the more spectacular the card design and elements are. Epic, Enchanted, and Iconic cards sport foil treatments, foil stamping, and many more deluxe embellishments. What is Magical Ink? Ink is the magical element that powers the realm of Lorcana. It flows through the realm and is what makes summoning glimmers possible. There are six different inks: Amber, Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Steel. Each has its own unique personality, and every glimmer fits into one (or two) of the inks. Amber ink glimmers love teamwork and utilizing the melodious power of songs Amethyst ink adds a touch of the mystical Emerald ink embodies those flexible in spirit and wits to adapt easily to their situation Ruby ink glimmers are daring, working quickly to achieve their goal. Sapphire ink glimmers are intellectuals, using smarts and inventiveness Steel ink represents those who are bold and imposing, both strong in build and heart Lorcana Deck Building Disney Lorcana TCG is designed to be easy to learn, even for those who have never played a trading card game . Once you understand the parts of the card and the gameplay basics, you can quickly jump into your first quest. To play, each player needs their own deck of at least 60 cards, damage counters, and a way to track how much lore they have such as lore-counters found in an Illumineer’s Trove (more on the Trove below) or a pad of paper. Pick up a pre-constructed single player deck that is ready to go right out of the box. For many, deckbuilding is an enjoyable part of the game, because each player can make a deck completely their own. From filling it with all the cards from a favorite Disney story to assembling all the villains and their allies to compiling a deck of Mickey Mouse and his best pals, the possibilities are endless. For more detailed information on how to play, visit DisneyLorcana.com for instructional videos and guides. Collecting Lorcana Cards In Disney Lorcana TCG, each card is its own mini piece of Disney artwork, making the thrill of collecting cards just as exhilarating as playing. Whether you’re on the hunt for your favorite characters, or seeking out the elusive Epic, Enchanted, or Iconic cards, trading with friends and family is a great way to experience the fun of Disney Lorcana. To get your collection started, all you need is a couple booster packs and a card portfolio to keep your new collection safe and protected. If you know someone who is a fan of Disney Lorcana, you could gift them an Illumineer’s Trove which contains 8 booster packs, as well as a full-art storage box with six card dividers to keep the cards safe and organized by ink color. For players, the Illumineer’s Trove also includes a special lore-counter and set of six dice that can be used as damage counters. For friends and family just starting out on their Disney Lorcana journey, look no further than the new Collection Starter Set. This new bundle has everything you need to kick-start your collection including, you’ll find 4 Fabled booster packs with 48 beautifully illustrated cards and a glitter-promo card of the card, Tinker Bell – Giant Fairy. The included 4-pocket Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor portfolio holds up to 80 cards; perfect for storing a new collection at home and on-the-go. Track Your Collection on the Lorcana App The Disney Lorcana TCG Companion App, available for free on iOS and Android devices, has everything fans need to collect or play. The app not only allows fans to track their card collection with an extensive visual card catalog but also provides access to gameplay tools including a built-in lore counter and how-to-play guides. 16. We asked our readers the most sole-searching question of all time: “What are your GO-TO shoes for a Disney trip?” Lots of support! Because let’s be honest — between rope drop, popcorn refills, and the third lap around World Showcase, your feet put in more work than your phone does Lightning Lane toggling on a holiday weekend. After tallying dozens of passionate responses, personal endorsements, and the occasional “I swear by these or I’ll cry in the hub grass,” here’s what YOU crowned the best Disney Park shoes — ranked by comfort, endurance, and sheer “I can do another lap around Magic Kingdom even after the fireworks” energy. And we’re totally not surprised that your rankings are verrrry similar to the shoes the DFB Team rank the highest, too. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. So, which shoe came out on top?! Top 5 Disney Park Shoes (According to DFB Readers!) HOKA — These ultra-cushioned sneakers feel like walking on clouds, with unbeatable comfort that lasts through 25,000 steps and fireworks. They’re supportive, springy, and perfect for keeping your feet happy from rope drop to park close. New Balance — Dependable and durable, New Balance shoes deliver that all-day comfort your feet will thank you for at 10 p.m. Their classic look pairs nostalgia with modern support — proof that “dad shoes” are having their well-deserved moment. Skechers — Lightweight and easy to slip on, Skechers are loved by parkgoers who want comfort without the fuss. Their arch support and cushioned soles keep even the most tired feet smiling through every parade and popcorn stop. Brooks — Built for runners but adored by Disney walkers, Brooks sneakers bring bounce and support that feel custom-made for long park days. They’re breathable, reliable, and designed to handle every dash to your next Lightning Lane. Chacos — These adventure-ready sandals are tough enough for rain, heat, and all-day exploring. With great traction and arch support, they’re the go-to for guests who’d rather embrace the Florida weather than fight it. Now, whether you’re Team Sandal or Team Sneaker, we have the full breakdown of the best shoes for your Disney vacation. #1 HOKA HOKA shoes dominated the poll, taking the #1 spot by a Main Street mile. Whether you’re tackling 25,000 steps a day or sprinting to catch your Lightning Lane, these chunky clouds deliver pure Cinderella-at-midnight comfort — minus the glass footwear fiasco. We love the cushion! HOKA is the undisputed royalty of Disney park footwear. The shoes are so comfortable, they make your step counter think you’re floating instead of walking. These are DFB Staff approved These babies are built for long term wear. While I’ve been able to break them in, the don’t look worn or sunken in and still keep a firm look about them. They’re still springy to the heels and soles of your feet when you step but not in a way that makes you feel like you’re going to leap into the air with each step. It’s just a nice gentle give that greets your foot as you walk normally. I prefer these over my barely there lightweight Nikes that I’ve used for years. Granted it’s mostly gym use and dire need, but the Hokas fit around your foot in a cradling way instead of leaving you feeling like you’ve added pounds to your feet with each step. Most shoes that are thicker heeled feel bulky to me when I wear them, but that evens out when you step because it’s a vertical bulk instead of a horizontal one. It feels like it’s meant to cushion instead of widen when word. For the shoe averse (like me for texture, weight, aesthetic reasons, etc) these will be the ones to convert you instantly. One reader said: Great cushion and comfort for your feet. Your feet don’t get tired of wearing them multiple days while walking 20,000 steps. Variety of fun colors blends with my Disney vibe. They’re quite bouncy when you step so there’s tons of support at the heel but it also was a great fit for those with high arches to their feet (like me). The backs of the Rincon 4s bothered the back of my heels but the Clifton 10s sure didn’t. Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find these shoes extremely comfortable and well-made, with good arch support and cushioning that’s gentle on feet. They help reduce back pain and are particularly effective for plantar fasciitis, with one customer noting they’re kind to knees. The shoes receive positive feedback for their fit, with one mentioning they accommodate narrow feet well, and customers consider them worth the investment. Opinions about sizing are mixed, with some finding them true to size while others say they run too big. These shoes didn’t just win the poll — they ran away with it (lightly, cushioned, and blister-free). HOKAs are like walking on a personal trampoline made of joy. With marshmallowy soles and bounce that would make Tigger jealous, these kicks are perfect for anyone tackling 25,000 steps, three parks, and a Dole Whip detour. They’re bold, comfy, and scientifically engineered to make your feet believe in magic again. View on Amazon #2 New Balance New Balance fans showed up strong — and stylish. These are the shoes your dad wore to EPCOT in the ‘90s — and he was onto something. ©Amazon These kicks are the quiet MVPs of Disney Parks. Not as flashy as HOKA or as techy as On, but dependable in that ‘your feet will still love you at 10 p.m.’ kind of way. They’ve got the cushion, the durability, and just enough retro charm to make you feel like you belong in a 1990s Disney vacation commercial. New Balance wearers know: fashion fades, but functional comfort? That’s forever. One reader said: While the model may change, I’ve never had blisters or any pain from any model of New Balances, so it’s a “safe” shoe for me to bring and know my feet won’t be an issue. Amazon reviewers claim: These running shoes are comfortable and stable enough for HIIT training, with a true-to-size fit and wide width options. They receive positive feedback for their quality, appearance, cushioning, and suitability for walking and jogging, with one customer noting they’re versatile for various running needs. The foot comfort aspect receives mixed reviews, with some customers reporting blisters on their toes. View on Amazon #3 Skechers ©Amazon Slip them on, and poof! — you’re walking on wishes and air conditioning. Skechers are beloved by Disney die-hards who know the real magic happens when your feet don’t mutiny mid-afternoon. They may not make you faster, but they’ll keep you smiling from rope drop to the kiss goodnight. One reader said: I have arthritis in my feet and can do Disney all day and still not be in pain Amazon reviewers claim: These sneakers are comfortable, easy to slip on and take off, and appreciate their arch support, with one customer noting it keeps feet happy all day. They like the style, describing them as dressy for casual wear, and find them to be good quality. The fit receives mixed feedback – while some say it’s great, others find them too large. Similarly, opinions on foot pain are divided, with some reporting no discomfort while others experience blisters. The size also gets mixed reviews, with some saying it’s perfect while others find it runs large. View on Amazon #4 Brooks Brooks sneakers are the overachievers of the footwear world. These aren’t just shoes; they’re emotional support devices with laces. ©Amazon Built for RunDisney… but also for chasing your kids through Fantasyland at 3 p.m. with a Mickey bar in one hand. Even Amazon customers rave about this footwear, giving it four-and-a-half stars. These are DFB Staff approved One reader said: Comfortable, bouncy, and supportive Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find these running shoes comfortable, well-made, and appreciate their great fit that easily accommodates orthotics. The shoes provide excellent arch support and cushioning, particularly in the heel, and maintain their appearance well. Regarding size, while some customers praise the roomy toe box, others find them too narrow. Similarly, opinions on foot pain are mixed, with some reporting no discomfort while others experience pain. View on Amazon #5 Chacos Ah, Chacos – the unofficial shoe of “I could hike Everest… but today, I’m conquering Animal Kingdom.” ©Amazon These sandals are perfect for the park-goer who treats Animal Kingdom like a national park and thinks socks are a government conspiracy. They’ll handle puddles, parades, and surprise rainstorms like champs — just don’t forget sunscreen for your sandal tan. You’ll have it till Christmas. These are DFB Staff approved One reader said: They work on all terrains, have great arch support, and do fine when wet. Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find these sandals comfortable, with feet not hurting from walking, and appreciate their versatility for hiking and outdoor adventures. The sandals receive positive feedback for their quality, arch support, and appearance, being more dressy than typical Chaco styles. The fit and strap tightness receive mixed reviews – while some find the straps stay secure, others report the straps coming loose. View on Amazon Honorable Mentions ASICS: For the athletes who still wear their running medals to EPCOT. ASICS These beauties have four-and-a-half–stars on Amazon from customers, and they’re some of the favorites for Disney park guests! One DFB reader told us: They have a good amount of support while still feeling really soft and cushy! I also like them because they have a slightly larger toe box than many other shoes I have tried on, making them great for anyone with toe issues, like ingrown toenails. I have been wearing them for close to two years now, and they are still supportive. Amazon reviewers claim: These running shoes are comfortable, with great arch support and super cushioning that helps with feet pain. The shoes receive positive feedback for their quality and effectiveness in helping with overpronation. Customers disagree on the fit and height, with some finding them perfect while others say they’re too tight and add inches to their height. Durability is also mixed, with some saying they wear well while others report them breaking down after a few weeks of use. View on Amazon Nike: Reliable, sporty, and stylish — just maybe pack Band-Aids. Nike Another Amazon review with a four-and-a-half-star rating from customers. Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find these sneakers to be a perfect fit with great quality and crisp white color. They appreciate the style and value for money, with one customer noting they’re a simple white sneaker. Comfort and scuff resistance receive mixed feedback – while some find them comfortable, others say they’re super uncomfortable, and while some say they clean easily, others report they arrive dirty. View on Amazon Crocs: Controversial, yes. But tell us your feet weren’t smiling. ©Amazon Are they cute? Well, they aren’t winning any fashion awards. But a five-star Amazon rating can’t be questioned. These are popular picks for kids and adults alike! One reader said: No issue if they get wet Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find these Crocs comfortable, well-made, and perfect for toddlers, with one customer noting they’re great for summer activities like pool or beach use. The shoes receive positive feedback for their appearance, color, and value for money. Regarding size, while some customers say they run true to size, others report they run large. View on Amazon Clarks: Because not everyone believes in sneakers — and that’s okay. ©Amazon Looking to show off your pedicure while keeping your soles comfy? These could be the shoes for you! These flip-flops rank four-and-a-half stars on Amazon. One reader said: I hate any kind of close-toed shoes/sneakers in the parks. These are light and airy flip-flops, but with a supportive arch and Cloudstepper cushioning (I switch them out about every 6 months, but someone who doesn’t wear flip-flops often could go longer, I’m certain). I have some slight problems with my arch and even my Dr approves these. Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find these flip-flops comfortable, good-looking, and well-made, with great arch support and incredibly cushiony soles. They fit well and can be worn all day without pain. Regarding size, while some customers say they’re sized perfectly, others mention they run a bit small. The shoes provide good support around the ankle, and one customer mentions they help with nerve and bunion pain when walking. The cushioning receives positive feedback, with one customer noting the good sole cushioning, and customers like the look. Regarding size and fit, while some appreciate the wide toe box, others find them too narrow, and opinions on value for money are divided between those who find them well worth the money and those who consider them overpriced. View on Amazon Vans: They’re great for style points and churro stops — less great for your 8 p.m. ‘just one more ride’ energy. ©Amazon If fashion were a Lightning Lane, Vans would skip the line every time. These timeless kicks win on looks and nostalgia (and go with every Disneybound outfit), but be warned — after 20,000 steps, you might be trading your cool points for a pair of emergency flip-flops from the Emporium. One reader said: Vans for the parks, Croc sandals (open toe) for the time at the hotel/pool/etc. Amazon reviewers claim: These Vans shoes are great quality, comfortable, and easy to slip on, with one customer noting they’re perfect for daily wear or casual outings. They appreciate the style, with one highlighting the simple black on black design, and consider them good value for money. While the shoes fit well, particularly for wide feet, some customers mention they run a little small. View on Amazon On Cloudsurfer: They’re called Cloudsurfers because ‘Asphalt Destroyers of Pain’ just didn’t sound as magical. ©Amazon Part science experiment, part miracle, these ultra-light shoes make you feel like you’re floating down Main Street. One reader said: Super comfortable and lightweight. Absolutely zero foot fatigue or any knee or calf strain. Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find these sneakers comfortable, well-made, and appreciate their lightweight design and style. The fit receives mixed feedback, with some finding them great depending on foot size while others say they run too narrow. Customers disagree on whether the shoes are worth the price, and durability is a concern as they come apart with normal wear. The cushioning also gets mixed reviews, with some finding it good while others say it’s not very cushioned. View on Amazon Now, that we’ve reviewed the honorable mentions, let’s get to our top rankings! Additional Consideration No matter what shoes you choose, these Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers help keep your shoes and feet dry during those common Florida rainstorms. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers are one of those Disney Park accessories that make you look slightly ridiculous but also like the smartest person in the downpour. These are equal parts fashion crime and practical genius. These are DFB Staff approved With as often as it rains in Florida and to keep from having to deal with wet smelly shoes during your trip or when packing up afterwards, these are absolutely worth it! Amazon reviewers claim: Customers find the shoe covers effective at keeping feet dry and clean, and they work well in various conditions, including soft wet snow and mud. However, the durability and fit receive mixed feedback – while some say they fit perfectly, others find them too small, and they don’t hold up for multiple uses. Moreover, the waterproofing and quality are mixed aspects, with some finding them totally waterproof while others report getting their shoes wet, and while some consider them decent, others describe them as poor quality. Additionally, the rip resistance is concerning, with multiple customers reporting that the covers rip on first use. 18. Universal’s Epic Universe has only been open to the general public since May of 2025; however, a recently filed permit is adding more fuel to speculation that the park may be expanding sooner rather than later. Epic Universe The permit, filed on November 7th, 2025, is for site utilities and foundation work for new construction, identified as a 150,000 square foot building. The address listed on the permit is 1001 Epic Blvd, Orlando, Florida 32819, which is the new park, with Baker Barrios Architects Inc. listed as the applicant. While there’s no official word on what type of project this permit is for, the large size of the associated building indicates to many that it’s something beyond typical back-of-house work and will likely be something guest-facing. Constellation Carousel in Celestial Park Rumors about potential additions to Epic Universe have been flowing since before the multi-billion-dollar park even opened. Eagle-eyed observers have noted several potential expansion pads in the park, in particular one between Super Nintendo World and Dark Universe. Blood in the Well of Darkmoor Speculation on what could potentially be added to the park has included everything from a Luigi’s Mansion ride/dining hybrid experience expansion to the Super Mario portion of the Nintendo area, a Creature from the Black Lagoon boat ride in Dark Universe, an additional attraction in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and even dreams of additional full portals based on everything from the Lord of the Rings to a “greatest hits” of former Universal attractions like Jaws and Back to the Future the Ride. ©Nintendo While it seems HIGHLY unlikely that Universal is about to announce something quite as massive as a new portal or E-Ticket level attraction, this new permit makes it clear that something new is already coming to Epic Universe. 19. Our awesome readers have helped us rank EVERY snack in Magic Kingdom! Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom You’ve helped us at DisneyFoodBlog settle a few debates. Thanks to your voting, we now know which Magic Kingdom snacks are your guys’ favorites (and which you care for a little less). It turns out that one of the top faves of Disney World fans is none other than the Pineapple Upside Down Cake, and it’s easy to see why. Let’s check out this glorious snack and a few others you guys rated as some of the best in Magic Kingdom! Pineapple Upside Down Cake You’ll find the Pineapple Upside Down Cake at Aloha Isle Refreshments, and just like you, we at DFB also rank this one as one of our favorites. It’s truly a national treasure. Hello Old Friend It’s pineapple upside-down cake topped with the fan-favorite Dole Whip. There’s not much that compares to Dole Whip slightly soaking into a dense pineapple upside-down cake that also has LOTS of pineapple chunks baked right into it. Each bite is PACKED with tropical goodness. So many cakes! Disney really packed a cake full of DOLE pineapple chunks and then said, “Let’s top it with DOLE Whip.” It’s no wonder you all ranked this as one of the best Magic Kingdom snacks. It quite possibly holds up as one of the best in Disney World. SNACK TIME on the Dining Plan: Pineapple Upside-Down Cake from Aloha Isle Of course, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake isn’t the only snack DFB readers voted as a top snack in Magic Kingdom. From highest to lowest ranking, here are the other top snacks at Magic Kingdom as voted by our readers. Cinnamon Rolls The cinnamon rolls in Magic Kingdom are a great option for a SWEET treat or breakfast, and clearly, our readers agree! You can find cinnamon rolls at a few locations: Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls at Main Street Bakery, the cinnamon roll at Gaston’s Tavern, and the Mickey-shaped bacan, pecan, caramel cinnamon roll at Westward Ho Refreshments. The Mickey Cinnamon Roll from Westward Ho The long-time DFB favorite cinnamon roll has been Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll, but recently, we’ve started loving the Westward Ho cinnamon roll. Unfortunately, though, this one is only available at breakfast. You guys DID agree with us that Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll totally tops the Main Street Bakery Cinnamon Roll. (But the seasonal rolls at Main Street Bakery are fun!) Savory Spring Rolls The Cheeseburger Spring Rolls from the Adventureland Spring Roll Cart are CLEARLY a DFB reader favorite! We had lots of you vote for these yummy little snacks, and we could not agree more. YUMMM –Adventureland Spring Rolls You’ll most commonly see the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls at the Spring Roll Cart (which is A-OKAY by us), but some other flavors we’ve seen featured are pepperoni pizza, Reuben, bacon mac and cheese, and buffalo chicken. Sundaes Artisan sundaes are a staple snack at Magic Kingdom. There’s probably not many better things in the world than enjoying a shareable sundae with your family on a hot day in the park. (My family loves to sit and eat a Plaza Ice Cream Parlor sundae at the very end of the night on our last day in Magic Kingdom before heading out. It’s a great way to take in the beauty of the park at night and embrace the magic.) Plaza Ice Cream Sundae You can get sundaes all around the park. Storybook Treats, Auntie Gravity’s, and Plaza Ice Cream Parlor have some very yummy sundaes. Corn Dog Nuggets While we at DFB prefer the hushpuppies at Columbia Harbour House, you guys voted that the Casey’s Corner Corn Dog Nuggets are a fan-favorite. However, if you pair these with the $1 plastic cheese for dunking, we’re in! Casey’s Corner Corn Dog Nuggets If you can’t get to Casey’s Corner, you can also pick these up at the Westward Ho kiosk in Frontierland, too (you just won’t be able to get the plastic cheese with them there, and that COULD be a deal breaker). We DO love our plastic cheese! These are Disney World fans’ top favorite snacks at Magic Kingdom, as voted on by you guys! We gotta say, you all have great taste. We can’t wait to snack around the kingdom with you all. In the meantime, keep following DFB! 20. Something we look forward to every year in Disney World is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom, and we know a lot of you do too! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party map It’s full of holiday cheer, special snacks you can’t get anywhere else, lots of wonderful entertainment, and the ability to ride some of your favorite attractions at much lower waits than normal. However, we have to admit that we understand why some people are skeptical about attending the event, because it’s FAR from cheap. It’s actually the most expensive after-hours event Disney has seen in recent years, so you may be asking yourself: Is the party ticket REALLY worth the cost? Let’s dive in and see. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place on select nights from November 7th through December 21st, and tickets cost $169-$229 per person, depending on what night you go. Children aged 3-9 will cost $10 less per ticket, no matter what day you go, and Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can also save $10 a ticket. Free cookies and hot cocoa! Party guests can enter Magic Kingdom at 4 PM, but the party itself runs from 7 PM to 12 AM. When it comes to special entertainment and opportunities you can experience during the event thanks to your ticket, here’s a quick look at what you’ll get: Complimentary Cookies and Cocoa at select spots throughout the Magic Kingdom Guest-only access to select Magic Kingdom attractions (including TRON Lightcycle / Run) Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Frozen Holiday Surprise Santa’s Christmas Carnival (Themed area with photo ops, crafts like writing your letter to Santa, and special holiday treats) Club Tinsel (Dance Party located at Rocketeer Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland) Disney Junior Jingle Jam (Dance party with Disney Junior characters at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe) The opportunity to meet Disney characters in their Christmas wear (including many rare characters) Exclusive Disney PhotoPass opportunities Party-exclusive snacks Party-exclusive merchandise at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. Snow falling on Main Street, U.S.A. (it’s technically snoap — soap that looks like snow!) Jack and Sally Four Magic Kingdom attractions also feature special holiday overlays that are only available during the event — Mad Tea Party (a special holiday song), Space Mountain — Holiday Run*, Tomorrowland Speedway Race Through the Holidays, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. While Jungle Cruise is also the Jingle Cruise during the party, this is also available throughout the day during the holiday season. Jingle Cruise You also have the option to make dining reservations to experience the event, and while we don’t necessarily recommend it, as it takes time away from other party-exclusive activities, the restaurants available are: Cinderella’s Royal Table Be Our Guest Restaurant The Plaza Restaurant The Beak and Barrel (NEW for 2025!) Is It Worth It? So there you have it — all that you can experience at the event this year. We went on opening night and got to experience the event firsthand, so if you were to ask us how we feel, we’d say yes. Although the party ticket is pricey for what essentially is less time in Magic Kingdom than you would get with a day ticket, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party allows you to do more things in that time with shorter waits and fewer crowds. If you’ve never done it before and it’s a bucket list item for you, it’s going to be worth the splurge. Disney Jr. Jingle Jam However, at the end of the day, it’s completely up to you if this party is going to be worth it for you and your family. If you all don’t mind staying up late, love the holidays, and feel you can make the most of the party by trying the specialty snacks, riding some of your favorite rides, and enjoying some of the unique entertainment, then it absolutely may be worth it for you! Frozen Holiday Surprise However, if you’re not a big fan of the holidays, or maybe you’re not someone who can stay up late (or you’ve got young kiddos who you know will really struggle with it, even with a nap during the day), this may not be the best event for you. It’s a LOT of money to drop, so we really suggest looking at some reviews from the event, whether it be from this year or previous years, to get a feel for whether this would be something you’d enjoy. 21. Disney World is full of matching shirts — it’s practically part of the tradition now. Disney shirts From those classic “Most Expensive Day Ever” tees to the custom “Disney Trip 2025” family designs, we’ve seen it all. But there’s one group that’s absolutely stealing the show lately — the cousins. That’s right. Cousin groups are rolling up to the parks with some of the best coordinated shirts we’ve seen, and we’ve got to talk about them. Disney Mickey and Friends Mickey Minnie Cousin Collegiate T-Shirt ©Amazon We’ve seen so many families rocking this one! It’s such a fun and classic option that screams Disney family trip. The design features Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto in front of the word “COUSIN” in a collegiate-style font. It’s simple, clean, and totally Instagram-worthy for those castle pics. View on SALE Disney Mickey Mouse Thumbs Up Best Cousin Ever Family T-Shirt ©Amazon This one is perfect for that cousin who’s the life of the party. View on SALE Star Wars Best Cousin in the Galaxy Family Trip Birthday T-Shirt ©Amazon Calling all Star Wars-loving cousins — this one’s for you. If your family plans include a stop at Galaxy’s Edge, this shirt is basically mandatory. It features the message “Best Cousin in the Galaxy” across a classic Star Wars starfield, complete with an X-wing starfighter. We’ve spotted these all over Batuu lately, and honestly? It’s kind of perfect for those iconic Millennium Falcon photos. It’s also an easy way to rep your cousin crew while still showing off your Star Wars fandom. View on SALE Disney Lilo & Stitch Cousin Vintage Style Collegiate Logo T-Shirt ©Amazon If your cousin dynamic is a little more chaotic (in the best possible way), this Stitch shirt might be your winner. 23. Happy holidays, everyone! Disney officially kicked off their Christmas season celebration tonight with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and we couldn’t be more excited to see all the wonderful things this event has to offer! Let’s eat some food! Not only can you ride lots of your favorite attractions at much lower wait times, but you can also experience snow on Main Street, U.S.A., thanks to good ‘ol snoap (soap snow), check out entertainment unique to the party, as well as eat lots of party-exclusive snacks you can’t get anywhere else. We went to the opening night of the event this year and tried ALL the new snacks to let you know which ones are worth your time and which others may be better to skip, and let’s just say, some of them may surprise you! Main Street, U.S.A. Main Street Bakery is serving up the Christmas Wreath Cupcake for $5.99, which is a Peppermint confetti cupcake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with marshmallow buttercream and chocolate décor. The Christmas Wreath Cupcake! The base cupcake mostly tasted like a funfetti cupcake, with a hint of peppermint flavor, but it wasn’t in-your-face peppermint. There was a teeny tiny bit of chocolate ganache in the middle, which was very fudgy and rich, but there wasn’t a lot of it. The buttercream on top was fluffy and creamy, and reminded us a lot of marshmallow whip, but a bit sweeter and with a more buttery flavor. The Mickey icon was a milk chocolate, and the bow was a white chocolate. It was definitely a cute-looking cupcake, but we wouldn’t say it was anything super special that you need to grab at the party. There are so many other options that are more unique! But if you like a classic cupcake, this was a good one. The cupcake! Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is home to the Santa Hat Brownie Sundae for $7.99, which is a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, crushed peppermint, whipped cream, and a red velvet cone with a marshmallow pompom. The Santa Hat Brownie Sundae This thing was a lot! The brownie itself has a more subtle peppermint taste, which our reporter preferred over a punch-in-the-face peppermint flavor. The peppermint shavings on the whipped cream were fun because they really made it into a traditional sundae, but were easily avoidable if you don’t like that. This one was fun and family-friendly thanks to its familiarity, yet fun twist. The peppermint gave it a nice crunch, which was balanced by the rich chocolate topping and heavy brownie. For the size, we also think the price isn’t too bad! More Santa! Casey’s Corner has two special snacks during the event, the first of which is the Holiday Pot Roast Mini Corn Dogs, topped with pot roast, beer-cheese sauce, crispy onions, and horseradish mustard for $14.79. The corn dogs are under there, we promise! These were delicious! It’s the classic Casey’s corn dog nugs, but the cheese sauce has more of a beer tang to it, which was great. We know they were advertised it that way, but you just never know! It was very yummy, creamy, and cheesy! The horseradish sauce was also great. It was creamy with a good amount of horseradish flavor without being crazy spicy or overpowering. The meat was super tender, and there was a decent amount of toppings on here. All of the components work together really well, making one of our favorites even better. Have a bite! The second party-exclusive snack at Casey’s Corner is the Holiday Pot Roast Loaded French Fries, topped with pot roast, beer-cheese sauce, crispy onions, and horseradish mustard for $8.29. The holiday fries! While we loved the toppings on the nuggets, they were a miss on the fries. They made the fries super soggy and a bit hard to eat. It made the fries mushy, and while we liked the toppings, they paled in comparison to the corn dogs. These are huge! Adventureland Over at Aloha Isle, you can grab the Pomegranate Yule Float for $7.79. This is Ginger ale with DOLE Whip Pomegranate and vanilla soft-serve, pomegranate boba pearls, and a slice of lime (Non-alcoholic). Pomegranate Yule Float This was almost reminiscent of a cherry limeade! The pomegranate and lime were delicious and lovely. We seriously appreciated the ginger ale taste because it made it nice and bubbly. It was filled to the brim, so be cautious, it’ll be messy! It was a nice, elevated Christmas treat with a vanilla base and fruity twisty. Be prepared for the popping boba pearls at the bottom to make a splash – literally! Have a bite! Liberty Square Sleepy Hollow Refreshments is home to the Peppermint Bark Funnel Cake this year, which is topped with vanilla ice cream, peppermint and white chocolate sauces, M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies Holiday Blend, whipped cream, crushed peppermint, and festive sprinkles for $9.79. The Peppermint Bark Funnel Cake Our reporter said, and we quote, “It’s just meeehhh.” With it being called a peppermint bark funnel cake, we were expecting a lot more peppermint flavor. You can definitely taste it, but it is more of a subtle peppermint flavor than an in-your-face flavor. The ice cream was yummy, but it also overpowered the peppermint flavor a bit. We liked the crunch and peppermint flavor from the crushed candy canes on the top, and we wish there were more of them. It was just short of being delicious, but with a bit more topping, we could really enjoy it. It wasn’t bad by any means, we just want a bit more! Another angel Fantasyland Over at Storybook Treats, you can try the Reindeer Sundae for $7.79. This is a chocolate soft-serve topped with caramel sauce, pretzels, chocolate, and peanut butter-dusted rice cereal, and a reindeer chocolate piece. The Reindeer Sundae First and foremost, we don’t think we’ve even had something melt faster, and that’s saying something in Orlando. This was tasty, but mostly cute! It has tons of tasty toppings, but the real winner was the pretzels. The salty-sweet element was so tasty. The cereal made this feel like a sweet breakfast item, but instead of milk, you get melted ice cream. The cereal and pretzels also added a great crunch, along with the fun, sticky caramel, which tied it all together. There was a ton of chocolate soft serve, and once the toppings were gone, this wasn’t exciting anymore. We liked it, but would like more toppings! So melty but so tasty Meanwhile, The Friar’s Nook is home to MULTIPLE special treats during the party! First are the Jalapeño Popper Tots for $10.49, which are topped with jalapeño cream cheese sauce, bacon, cheddar, and a jalapeño popper. Jalapeno Popper Tots The jalapenos on this are fresh and beautiful! They are partially seeded, but we saw a lot of seeds, which is where the heat comes from. When you eat a hot jalapeno and go for some cheese sauce to cool down, there are jalapenos in the cheese sauce! Honestly, we loved it. It’s spicy in a delicious way, not a ruin-your-day way. We wish there were a bit more regular cheese, and the cream cheese was better distributed, but we really liked this and would get it again. It was definitely big enough to share. One caveat: the actual jalapeno popper garnish wasn’t our favorite. It felt like it was frozen and had a gross, bready texture and indistinguishable flavor. We suggest putting it off to the side and digging into the tots. A closer look! You can also grab the Spinach Artichoke Hand Pie, which is a flaky hand pie filled with cheesy spinach and artichoke dip and drizzled with red pepper sauce for $8.99. Spinach Artichoke Hand Pie Don’t let looks deceive you, because we were surprised by this one! The filling was less creamy than a full spinach artichoke dip and really let both the spinach and the artichoke shine. Texturally, the two were super tender and made for a nice experience with the crispy pie. The crust was on the thin side and a bit tough, but this let it hold its crunch, despite being covered in sauce. The red pepper sauce was also so good here. It has a little bit of heat, plus it was peppery and aromatic, which really brought out the flavors in the pie. A look inside The Pig in a Blanket is also available, which is a Parmesan puff pastry-wrapped all-beef hot dog, crispy onions, and honey mustard barbecue sauce served with tots for $12.99. Pig in a blanket! If you’re looking for a picky eater-friendly dish, look no further! This truly tastes like classic pigs in a blanket. That said, we didn’t get any honey mustard barbecue sauce, and it made it feel incomplete, so make sure you get yours! It wasn’t very holiday-y or special, but it was a well-cooked, juicy hot dog. It also had a great meat-to-bread ratio. Plus, it was a very hearty portion, which is a win for the price. A look inside! The final Friar’s Nook party-exclusive snack is the Ugly Sweater Shake for $7.99, which is a vanilla shake topped with whipped cream, festive sprinkles, peppermint-white chocolate sauce, and a chocolate piece (Non-alcoholic). The Ugly Sweater! This was disappointing if we’re being frank. It’s a vanilla milkshake, yes, but it’s made from vanilla soft serve, so it has that very faux vanilla taste. It tasted like a sweeter vanilla frosty from Wendy’s (which is already pretty sweet). The sauce doesn’t add flavor at all and instead just ups the sweetness factor. The biggest redeeming quality was the whipped cream with the cherry shell. The shell was super fun and we loved it! It was almost like we were getting a dipped cone at Dairy Queen. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to redeem the shake. The top! Over at Pinocchio Village Haus, there are three options available, including the Holiday Ravioli for $9.29, which is fried breaded ravioli with marinara sauce, basil pesto, parmesan, and parsley. The Holiday Ravioli Starting off strong, this was AWESOME! For less than $10, the raviolis were huge. There is tons of pesto sauce on these, which was nice. The marinara was weirdly the best part for us; we’re assuming it was just the restaurant’s normal sauce, but we really enjoyed it. The raviolis were crispy and somehow didn’t become soggy in the sauce! The cheese on the inside was texturally similar to ricotta, so no cheese pulls here. We would happily recommend this to anyone who needs a savory dinner at the party. Inside the ravioli The other food item available is the Snowflake Ornament for $5.79, which is Coconut-eggnog mousse in a white chocolate shell with sugar décor. The snowflake! Disney World loves a mousse dessert, and while many can be good, this one just wasn’t. There was very little cake base on this one, and the only real flavor came from the bits of coconut shavings, which also added a bit of texture to the dessert. This felt more like a cheesecake than a mousse, which some people might like. It was fine, but we felt it was quickly forgettable. The inside! To drink, you can grab the Brr-Raspberry Slushy for $6.79, which is a Fanta Blue Raspberry slushy with coconut cream, whipped cream, and sweet blue shredded coconut (Non-alcoholic). The slush! This one was shockingly good! We loved how well the blue raspberry and coconut went together. This felt like a plussed-up version of a regular slushy so it’s going to give you a sweet, refreshing treat. If that sounds good to you, we recommend this one! Frontierland Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is also home to tons of special options during the party! First up was the Arroz Con Leche Wreath for $5.79, which is Rice pudding mousse, citrus chutney, coconut whipped cream, and a chocolate bow. The Arroz Con Leche Wreath This was a really interesting dessert! It was exactly what you would expect from a rice pudding mousse. The rice was tender and a bit chewy, and it was mixed it a fluffy mousse. In the middle of the wreath, there was some citrus chutney, which added a great brightness and sweetness to the dessert. There was also some dulce de leche in the center. It was sweet and added a hint of caramel flavor. The crust on the bottom was almost like a graham cracker crust, which we think might have been like puffed rice. This is definitely a more unique dessert and great for fans of rice pudding! A look inside Also available are the Mexican Hot Chocolate Mini Churros tossed with Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Powder, cinnamon, and warm spices served with sprinkles and marshmallow fluff dip for $6.49. The mini churros! These were just okay. The cocoa powder & spices on the churros weren’t as prominent as we were hoping. You could mostly taste the cocoa flavor. The churros were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but they definitely were not freshly made. The marshmallow fluff tasted just like marshmallow fluff. It was sweet and sticky. It was a bit hard to dip the churros into it as it was thicker, but we think it was a good consistency to give you that marshmallow feel in your mouth. It’s a typical Disney World churro. The dipping sauce To drink, you can also grab the Frozen Hot Cocoa, which is Frozen Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s with toasted marshmallow syrup topped with chocolate sauce, marshmallows, and festive sprinkles (Non-alcoholic). It was on our list to try, but they were unfortunately out during our stop by. Both together! Tomorrowland Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe also has a few special items available! To eat, you can grab the Snow Cheese Chicken Strips for $12.99, which are dusted with a sweet-and-savory white cheddar powder served with a side of kimchi aïoli. Snow Cheese Chicken Strips! These chicken tenders were surprisingly good! Think along the lines of white cheddar popcorn you get in those big popcorn tins around the holidays when it comes to these bites. The aioli is where these go crazy, though. It has a low heat at first, but as it builds, the sweet and spicy flavor kicks in. There’s also a nice garlic flavor mixed in, which we loved on our fries and chicken. The price is a little steep, but the sauce really took it to a new level. Dipping! To drink, the Cranberry Cider Punch made with Cranberry juice, apple cider, and Sprite with sugared cranberries and a rosemary sprig (Non-alcoholic) is also available for $5.79. The punch! This punch was phenomenal. This had a wonderfully fruity flavor, and the cranberries even had a bit of tartness to make it more than one note. It was essentially a cranberry sprite, but the rosemary and cranberries on top made it feel fancier. This is a tasty, low-budget option for the party! The toppings! Over at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, you can grab the Milk and Cookies Shake, which is a Vanilla shake with caramel, holiday cookies, and chocolate chip cookie dough topped with whipped cream and festive sprinkles (Non-alcoholic). This will cost you $9.49. The Milk and Cookies Shake This was good enough, we want to grab a second one before the night is out! It’s the utter definition of milk and cookies. There are sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and sprinkle cookies sprinkled across the top. While it is just vanilla, it tastes more like a buttery sugar cookie. It was a bit pricey, but we think it’s a specialty drink that feels perfect for the holidays. The toppings At the new AstroFizz location, you can grab the Cherry-White Chocolate Slushy for $6.79, which is Fanta Cherry served with a crackable white chocolate-coated cup with whipped cream, cherry gummy candy, and festive sprinkles (Non-alcoholic). The Cherry White Chocolate Slushy! We still aren’t convinced white chocolate and cherry go together. While this treat is pretty fun to crack and see the red get exposed under the white chocolate, the flavors are not a great combination in our opinion. The cup is coated in white chocolate and then filled with Fanta cherry. The Fanta cherry is that somewhat tart, fake cherry flavor. The white chocolate coating is a bit waxy-tasting. It’s a fun treat, but we weren’t a fan of the taste. You could definitely eat the cherry icee separate from the white chocolate, or maybe you will find that you love the flavor combination! We can see some people really liking this fun drink, but it wasn’t for us. The drink after we cracked it!
