According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Walt Disney Company has extended its contract with Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston for four more years. Walt Disney Company Headquarters in Burbank Disney entered into a new contract with Johnston that will keep him on as CFO of the company through January 31st, 2029. Johnston succeeded longtime Disney CFO Christine McCarthy and became Disney’s CFO in 2023. Johnston previously served as CFO at PepsiCo., where he worked for over 15 years. At Disney, he’s become part of Disney’s public face and often answers questions with CEO Bob Iger on earnings calls, as well as representing the company in the media and at investor events. ©Disney Johnston currently oversees The Walt Disney Company’s “worldwide finance organization, which includes corporate real estate, corporate strategy and business development, enterprise controllership, enterprise technology, financial planning and analysis, global product and labor standards, global security, investor relations, risk management, tax and treasury.” Disney has also extended contracts with other executives, including Executive Vice President, Global Communications head Kristina Schake; Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer Horacio Gutierrez; and Senior Executive Vice President and Chief People Office Sonia Coleman. This all comes before Disney chooses a successor to Iger in 2026. Walt Disney Studios As part of Johnston’s contract, he will keep his salary of $2 million unchanged, as well as his annual target bonus at $4 million. The Disney Cruise Line’s latest ship – the Disney Destiny – is about to set sail for its maiden voyage, and we got a sneak peek at everything the new ship has to offer. Passion Fruit Layer Cake The Destiny features several exciting new experiences for the line, including a heavy Marvel presence (a Spider-Man stern character, a fresh take on the World of Marvel restaurant featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy, a Wakanda-themed atrium, and a Doctor Strange lounge that recreates the Sanctum Sanctorum), a Hercules stage show, a Pirates of the Caribbean lounge, and — our ficus today — a NEW Lion King dining experience! Atmosphere Taking the place of the dinner-show experience that has been filled by Frozen and Coco on other Disney vessels, the Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King Restaurant brings the story of Simba to life using the songs of the iconic film. ©Disney But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Eats First up, we had the Curried Apricot Chicken Sosaties, which are Grilled Chicken Skewers, Tri-color Quinoa Pilaf, and Red Chermoula. This was our favorite thing we had at Pride Lands. You get a hearty serving of chicken thigh meat. The meat itself is very flavorful…it’s been marinated and then grilled on the skewer. Curried Apricot Chicken Sosaties The tasty quinoa makes a nice bed for the skewers and tastes great with the red chermoula. This dish isn’t super spicy, but it is well-seasoned with African spices. This is a good option for those who might want to stay away from spicy dishes. A great option! The Roasted Red Capsicum Soup with Toasted Pão Bread Crostini and Sun-Dried Tomato Sofrito. Although we were expecting something like a tomato bisque type soup, it really wasn’t like that. It’s got a nice red pepper taste, but there’s also a sweetness to it. It’s got a lovely flavor, but it’s definitely more focused on the red pepper flavor over the tomato. Roasted Red Capsicum Soup We next had Sarabi’s Roasted Beef Tenderloin Salad, made with Sarabi’s Roasted Beef Tenderloin Salad Grilled Halloumi Cheese, Lemon-marinated Artichoke Hearts, and Caramelized Grape Tomatoes. We felt a little mixed by this. Now, the beef tenderloin was a good quality piece of meat and was roasted well…it was about medium well to well. It was tender and well-seasoned, but we couldn’t get over the temperature at which it was served. The rest of the salad is kind of boring. It’s okay. The tomatoes in our salad were not caramelized, though. So this was okay, but we wished we’d picked something else. Sarabi’s roasted beef tenderloin salad The Kiara’s Black-Eyed Pea Hummus comes with Matbucha, Carrot-Green Mango Atchar, and Toasted Tiger Bread. The hummus is nice and creamy. There was something like sesame seeds on top that also added a bit of texture. Most of the flavor comes from the peas, and it’s comforting, earthy, and just nice. Black-Eyed Pea Hummus The Pan-Seared Berbere Spiced Roasted Chicken comes with Tomato-Red Pepper Rice, Fried Plantains, and Green Harissa Sauce. Y’all…this is the entree to beat. Everything had such a good flavor and was spiced really well. The spices reminded us of the spices you get on the corn from Harambe Market in Animal Kingdom, although these weren’t quite as potent. Pan-Seared Berbere Spiced Roasted Chicken We also tried the Roasted Prime Rib of Beef with a Loaded Baked Potato, Black Garlic Broccolini, Honey Glazed Carrots, Veal Jus, and Horseradish. The beef is cooked about medium, and you get a huge slab of it. It’s also a fairly lean piece of meat and has just enough fat on it to give it some flavor. The veal jus added extra flavor and made it a little more robust. The broccolini was a little oily, but we didn’t taste the garlic. The baked potato was a bit dry. Overall, though, this is a filling meal if you’re craving red meat. Roasted Prime Rib of Beef The Passion Fruit Layer Cake is Vanilla Butter Cake, Passion Fruit Cremieux, and Strawberry-Hibiscus Sauce. The cake is pretty standard, although there’s passion fruit between the layers. This didn’t blow us away, and we honestly thought it needed more passion fruit flavor. Instead, it’s just like a slightly fruity vanilla cake. Passion Fruit Layer Cake This is a good dessert for pickier eaters, so we’ll give it that. It’s cute The Zebra Sundae is made with Cookies ‘n Cream Ice Cream, Chocolate Wafer Cookies, Chocolate Fudge Sauce, and Whipped Cream. It was a delicious sundae, and it will certainly be a real kid-pleaser. It’s got comforting flavors, and it’s perfectly sweet. Even the whipped cream got the memo and held its structure on top, so it doesn’t melt into the rest of the sundae. Zebra Sundae We also tried the Creamsicle Cheesecake, made with Vanilla Cheesecake, Orange Mousse, Orange Segment Glaze, and Chocolate Sauce. This sounded great on paper, but it’s not really a cheesecake. It’s more like a mousse with more mousse next to it. So if you order this expecting cheesecake, you’ve been warned. Creamsicle Cheesecake The best part of this is the orange sauce that was in a little indentation on top. It drizzles down on the cheesecake when you cut into it. It was a nice sweet orange, much like a mandarin orange. It’s not really cheesecake If you love cheesecake mousse, this will be a must for you, but we thought the menu’s description was off. Drinks We also tried the African Sangria, made with Vusa, Campari, Starr Rum, Fanta, Sprite Cassis, and Bitters for $14. It was…fine. It’s sweet, but not super robust. It’s just a nice sangria, although it tastes a bit watered down. It also wasn’t super fresh and just didn’t do it for us. African sangria There are better drinks onboard the ship, as well as at this restaurant. If you want something sweet that’s refreshing, though, this will do the trick. If you want a great sangria, just skip it. Overall If you love The Lion King, this restaurant is obviously going to please you, but some items on the menu are better than others. So keep that in mind, and you’ll enjoy your dining experience here! We’ll be updating this post, so please stay tuned for more! We are setting sail aboard the Disney Destiny ahead of its maiden voyage, and we couldn’t be more excited. The newest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet is themed around heroes and villains, and we’re feeling pretty heroic after we just toured the ship’s Tower Suite. Iron Man helmet After all, the Tower Suite is themed around Marvel’s Tony Stark, and we feel like we’re living it up Iron Man style, just by setting foot in it. So come with us to take a tour of this suite worthy of a superhero. The Tower Suite, which has a whopping 2,000 feet of space, sits high in the Disney Destiny’s forward funnel and offers breathtaking views of the ship’s top deck and beyond through a massive two-story window. Disney Destiny Tower Suite The suite itself can accommodate up to eight people. The Destiny Tower Suite The Tower Suite on the Disney Destiny is all about Tony Stark, who we know was really into a whole modern luxury look with a lot of cool tech. So it has a penthouse design inspired by Tony’s penthouse in the Marvel films, right down to the decorations… … wall art… Destiny Tower Suite … and even the furniture. Destiny Tower Suite You’ll find “mechanical elements with soft and inviting touches” and Marvel Cinematic Universe references that make you feel like a superhero billionaire genius philanthropist. It’s arguably the busiest time of the year for Disney World, because there are SO many seasonal events and limited-time offerings. EPCOT Between Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are absolutely hopping. Even Animal Kingdom is getting in on the fun with seasonal specialties like the Merry Menagerie and the holiday Tree of Life Awakenings. But at EPCOT? We’re getting an entire FESTIVAL! The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays kicks off on November 28th, 2025, and we can’t wait to check it out this year! This is one of the biggest holiday season offerings in Disney World that’s actually INCLUDED with your park ticket (no extra ticket required). It’s time for the Festival of the Holidays! So what all is available during this festival? Let’s dive into the full list. Holiday Kitchens To start, one of the major draws of the festival is the FOOD. There are typically dozens of holiday kitchens (AKA food booths) available throughout the park. Most of these are located in the various World Showcase countries, and their menus will highlight traditional holiday fare in that country. Full Spread at Bavaria from 2024 It’s a really fun way to try out holiday treats that you haven’t tasted before. Also, as part of the food booth offerings, there’s a Holiday Cookie Stroll. This is a scavenger hunt where you can purchase cookies at food booths around the festival to get a stamp in your festival passport. Once you get five stamps, you can redeem them for a prize! Throughout the day, many of the countries will host holiday storytellers. These storytellers are dressed as iconic holiday characters from their respective countries, and you can gather ’round to hear their tales of holiday traditions and historical accounts. Sigrid and Barn Santa in the Norway Pavilion The shows are typically only about 10 minutes long, and they happen frequently, so it’s easy to catch them. They’re great for kids and adults alike — a fun (and often funny!) way to learn about seasonal traditions in other countries. Hanukkah Storyteller In addition to the storytellers, we’ve often seen musical performers throughout the festival. JOYFUL! is one of the most popular ones — performing Christmas and Kwanzaa songs on the CommuniCore Plaza stage multiple times a day. Joyful: A Celebration of the Season! But perhaps the biggest entertainment draw is the Candlelight Processional. This takes place each evening at the America Gardens Theatre, where a celebrity narrator will tell the story of Christmas. Throughout the show, a live orchestra and choir will perform popular Christmas songs. EPCOT Candlelight Processional Of course, we also need to include that you can meet Santa Claus during the festival. This year, his meet and greet is in CommuniCore Hall, and he has set times throughout the day — make sure to check the My Disney Experience app before you go. Activities There are a few other activities you can check out throughout the festival, like Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt. This one can be purchased at several gift shops around the park. With the map, you’ll be on the lookout for Olaf statues. Once you’re done, you can turn in your map to get a prize! Olaf Scavenger Hunt Board For a festive attraction to add to your to-do list, don’t skip The Land Pavilion! Living with the Land — Glimmering Greenhouses is back in 2025 and just as sparkly as usual. The greenhouses get decorated with stunning Christmas lights and holiday displays. Festive Mickey topiary And finally, you can’t skip out on a little shopping during the festival! There will be exclusive Festival of the Holidays merchandise at multiple gift shops around EPCOT, so be on the lookout. We’ll be sharing the full collection with you once the festival starts. When we go to Disney World, we plan our day around our food. What we’re having for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks is always at the forefront of our minds. The food at Disney World is an experience all on its own, and with so many options, it can be difficult to pick. How do you choose what to eat when there are so many great options? Luckily, we have (literally) dedicated our lives to helping you make great decisions on what to eat at Disney World. Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day, but if you’re budgeting and only have $10 to spend on your first meal of the day, we have a few items we HIGHLY recommend. Whether you’re planning to eat at your Disney World hotel or at the parks, check out these items for a yummy and cheap breakfast. Disney World Parks Magic Kingdom If you’re in the mood for something sweet and sticky first thing in the morning, then head to the Lunching Pad for the Sticky Bubble Bread! Sticky Bubble Bread These are yummy, sweet bread rolls covered in cinnamon, caramel, and warm spices. It’ll get your blood sugar going for sure, and you’ll be ready to take on the park. You can grab this sweet treat for $6.49. If you’re looking for savory over sweet, try out the Breakfast Sandwich at Friar’s Nook! Friar’s Nook Breakfast Sandwich This is a bagel sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheddar. It also comes with a side of tots! You get a good-sized breakfast for under $10. If you feel more like sharing (or just want a giant, tasty treat for yourself), the Mickey-shaped bacon-pecan-caramel cinnamon roll at Westward Ho might be calling your name. The Mickey Cinnamon Roll from Westward Ho For $8.49, you can enjoy this delicious, ooey, gooey roll. Of course, there are many varieties of waffles and toppings at Sleepy Hollow! Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream Get a waffle with chocolate-hazelnut spread, bananas, berries, and whipped cream, or a waffle with sweet-and-spicy maple chicken. And those aren’t you’re only two options! This is one of our favorite spots to grab a bite in Magic Kingdom, and other than the chicken and waffles ($12.99), you can grab one of these for under $10. We’ve Eaten at Every Magic Kingdom Restaurant. These Are the BEST. EPCOT If you’re looking for a great place with TONS of yummy breakfast options at EPCOT, we suggest checking out Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie This pastry shop is hidden away in the France Pavilion, but trust us, it’s worth finding. There are so many delicious options, from cold-cut sandwiches to macarons to tarts. It’s a French pastry; what else is there to say, really? REVIEW: We Tried 5 (!!!) EPCOT Snacks at Les Halles — Here’s What You Should NOT Skip, Even When the Line Is out the Door Hollywood Studios For breakfast at Hollywood Studios, we’re always running to Woody’s Lunchbox. First, the Breakfast Bowl here is chef’s kiss. Breakfast Bowl This bowl is $8.99 and includes tots smothered in smoked brisket country gravy, scrambled eggs, and a sprinkling of green onion. It is totally delish! Also at Woody’s Lunchbox, you’ll find featured Lunch Box Tarts. There are typically two variations of tarts, a seasonal offering and a standard option, such as the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart. Tarts cost $5.29 and are a great, easy breakfast option! Hot Chocolate Lunchbox Tart REVIEW: Something Important Is Missing From This NEW Disney World Snack Animal Kingdom When you get to Animal Kingdom, head all the way back to the Africa area of the park. Here you’ll find Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery! This small, quick-service location serves several great breakfast options, such as its own take on Breakfast Totchos. Breakfast Totchos at Kusafiri While the Breakfast Totchos are just over $10 ($11.49), you can also get the Egg and Bacon Croissant Sandwich for $9.29 or the Overnight Oats for $5.29. Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery If you have a little extra cash and time to spend on breakfast, then we suggest strolling over to Pandora to check out Satu’li Canteen. Full breakfast spread at Satu’li Canteen Here you’ll find out-of-this-world breakfast options like the Slow-roasted Pork Shoulder Potato Hash, Frittata and Beef, and Cinnamon French Toast. These options are all just over $10, starting at $12.99. REVIEW: You’ve Probably Walked Right Past This Obscure Disney’s Animal Kingdom Snack Spot a Dozen Times Disney World Hotels There are some staple breakfast options that you’ll find at many of the Disney World hotels. If you’re planning to grab something at your hotel before heading to the parks, check out these options! Mickey Waffles You’ll find Mickey Waffles at most of the hotels. From the cafeteria-style restaurants at the Value Resorts to the quick-service restaurants at the Deluxe Resorts, you’ll likely find some cute and yummy Mickey Waffles. Mickey Waffles For example, World Premiere Food Court at All-Star Movies Resort has a Waffle Bounty Platter with Mickey Waffles, scrambled eggs, tots, bacon, and sausage for $13.99. Or you can opt to get the Mickey Waffle kids’ meal with a choice of two sides for $7.99 (pro tip: you don’t have to be a kid to get the kids’ meal). Breakfast Totchos Variations Another breakfast you’ll find at many of the Disney World hotels is breakfast totchos varieties! These can range in price, but they are typically around or just over $10. Breakfast Bowl from Contempo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort For example, The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has the Kilamanjaro Bowl (tots, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, chakalaka, cheddar, bacon, and chives) for $10.79, while Port Orleans — Riverside Resort has the Avocado Breakfast Bowl (tots, scrambled eggs, cheddar, southwest-style beans, avocado, and salsa fresca) for $10.99. The All-Stars Resorts typically have similar bowls to the one found at Woody’s Lunchbox. Tonga Toast Over at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, you can stop by Capt. Cook’s for one of our all-time favorite breakfast items — Tonga Toast. Tonga Toast at Captain Cook’s Tonga Toast is banana-stuffed sourdough bread, battered, deep-fried, and dusted with cinnamon-sugar. It is served with bacon or sausage. You can grab this beauty for $10.99. It’s also available at Kona Cafe with strawberry compote and your choice of ham, spiced ham, bacon, or sausage, but this version will run you $17.50 (and you’ll likely need a reservation). Biscuits and Gravy Another delicious option that is available at a variety of hotels, often at the food courts at the Value Resorts, is Biscuits & Gravy! Biscuits and Gravy at Contempo Cafe This staple breakfast food is fantastic and can be found at Trail’s End for $4.79 or at Roaring Fork for $4.49. Biscuits and Gravy, Anyone? A new store has come to Disney Springs — and just in time for us to start our Christmas shopping! Disney Springs! Disney Springs at Disney World has tons of places for shopping and dining, and we find ourselves there often. On our most recent visit, we came across a brand-new store. If you’re a fan of art, you’re going to want to check this place out! Introducing Disney Enchanted Holiday Art Gallery! It’s a new art gallery that you’ll find in Disney Springs’ Town Center. It has taken over where Volcom used to be, right between the Harley Davidson and Levi’s. Disney Enchanted Holiday Art Gallery Not only is it an art gallery full of pieces for you to walk around and look at, but everything inside is also available for purchase. So if there’s a piece you adore in there, maybe you’ll be treating yourself this holiday season. Let’s step inside! Disney art fans…this is the place for you! The art gallery is mostly filled with Disney artwork from various movies and in various styles. As soon as you step in, you can see a ton of pieces that are inspired by Mickey Mouse, of course. Mickey artwork! They also had some artwork inspired by Gideon’s Bakehouse. Gideon’s artwork! They had some pieces displayed on a table at the front and on the wall. Look at these! We mentioned that lots of the art here is inspired by Disney movies, and this wall had it all. You can see pieces featuring classic Disney movies like Peter Pan, Mulan, Cinderella, Brave, Alice in Wonderland, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The garland and ornaments above were a nice festive touch to the display. Disney movie artwork! We saw more pieces we loved over by the register! They had pieces inspired by Beauty and the Beast and Snow White. The Haunted Mansion portraits from the stretching room instantly caught our eye as well. The Christmas decorations are a gorgeous touch to the store — look at the big paint brushes “painting” the wall in garland. So pretty! The Cast Members told us that the store is only here for a limited time during the holiday season. So you’re going to have to make a trip over here before it’s too late! Christmas is here again! The holiday season has offically arrived in Disney World. The parks are decked out in festive decor. We’ve been to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights. But what about presents? Wouldn’t you like to receive a gift? Well, if you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder, you’ll have a special surprise waiting for you in your mailbox soon (and we’ve already received ours). This year’s free Annual Passholder gift is a SWEET Disney World calendar with stickers. If you’re an Annual Passholder, you’ll want to keep an eye on your mailbox for a package from Disney Destinations because that’s it! 2026 Annual Passholder Calendar The stickers can be used on the calendar to mark important dates, like a stay at a Disney World resort, birthdays, your first 2026 visit to the parks, the first days of EPCOT festivals and seasons in Disney World, and more. Bluey fever is global, spreading to all facets of life. In fact, you can even stay in a Bluey-themed hotel room! ©Alton Towers Bluey is ON FIRE right now! Coming to the big screen in 2027, the Australian phenomenon is also jumping into real life with its very own theme park ride, set to debut in the spring of 2026! But that’s not all…the ride won’t be far from a Heeler Family-themed lodging experience! Alton Towers in the United Kingdom is home to a “Bluey sleepover” at the CBeebies Land Hotel! ©Alton Towers The rooms are already available and include plenty of Bluey theming. You’ll easily be able to spot Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli! These suites sleep up to a family of five, and feature Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom! The rooms include the following: Free WiFi Tea & coffee facilities Iron and ironing board Complimentary toiletries Hair dryer Exclusive use of all hotel facilities, including the entertainment Cots which can be pre-assembled on request (cot bedding is not supplied, please bring your own) Bottle warmers and mini-fridge Bathroom step, toddler toilet seat and baby baths TVs in adults and children’s areas of the room Bookings for the hotel rooms are currently available on the Alton Towers website. ©Alton Towers As for the Bluey family coaster, it will open in CBeebies Land inside Alton Towers Resort and will be the very first Bluey ride EVER. CBeebies is a prominent preschool network in the U.K. and is the British broadcaster of Bluey. The land will also feature a Heeler family meet-and-greet experience as well as live entertainment within the Big Fun Showtime space! This is expected to officially debut sometime in the spring of 2026 ©Alton Towers It’s hard to deny Bluey‘s cultural takeover. The show is premiering its first feature-length movie on August 6th, 2027, starring most of the original voice actors, such as Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Chilli and Bandit. The film is written and directed by Joe Brumm — Bluey’s creator. ©Disney Of course, getting that tangible Bluey experience off the screen is why many tourists will flock to Alton Towers, but you might even be able to spot these beloved characters through other means. Bluey and Bingo joined the Disney Cruise Line in New Zealand and Australia, and it was announced in 2024 that Bluey “will join Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on land and Disney Cruise Line at sea.” We’re waiting on more updates on that front, but it’s exciting to see the characters of Bluey come stateside! INIU Portable Charger We have bought, tried, and fallen in love with every single one of these products, and find each of them ESSENTIAL to having the best possible Walt Disney World Vacation. That’s a pretty good deal, especially since the charger offers both USB-A and USB-C ports, giving a wide variety of charging options for everything from phones to watches to cameras to headphones, to pretty much everything else you can imagine. Also, the previous model we used took me almost all night to completely charge, and this one charges fully in a matter of a few hours or less. If there were one thing we’d change, we wish the brick came with its own proprietary charging cable as opposed to us using one of our own and hoping it’s the correct wattage. However, this machine totally changed our viewpoint. Truth be told, members of our team were always annoyed at the idea of a sound machine because white noise and big fans sounded aggressive to them. However, with the adjustable volume and sounds, they didn’t have to worry about that and could set it to what they’d like to listen to at a comfortable volume. On top of that, this thing is so small it can fit in the palm of your hand, so it doesn’t take up much space on a night table. It has the potential to be hooked up to a charger or be enjoyed on a battery, and features 35 different volume levels for such a tiny object, comes is a variety of different colors to match practically any aesthetic, and 16 different sounds ranging from DIFFERENT kinds of fans and fan speeds, to standard white noise, soundscapes, waterfalls, rain, birds, lullabies, and beyond. The material allowed the rain to slip right off, and between that and the lack of sleeves, we didn’t feel steamed or hot underneath. If you’ve been to Disney World for breakfast, you might have come across this delightful drink called POG juice. POG Juice While on board the Disney Destiny, the newest ship to join Disney Cruise Line, we came across something we wish we could fit in our suitcases and take home with us. We were grabbing food at Marceline Market, the casual dining option set up in a buffet, and we came across a drink called Orchards Finest. We’ve never heard of that, but after a sip, it tasted pretty similar. That looks oddly familiar When we asked a Cast Member about it, they pulled out the bottle to show us what it was made of, and yes, it’s our beloved passionfruit, guava, and orange combination, but completely unlimited. You can literally get it all day. It comes straight from the machine, meaning we can drink it all cruise long. Move over, unlimited ice cream — this is what we’re grabbing! If you think the Disney Parks are filled with an incredible amount of details, you might not have been on a Disney Cruise yet. Each ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet is packed with an insane amount of details, where we could probably stay on board for a month and still not catch all the secrets. ©Disney The Disney Destiny has its maiden voyage on November 20th, and we got a sneak peek at everything onboard. One part that amazed us was the Cask & Cannon pub, inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. Come with us to check out all the hidden details you’ll want to keep your eye out for. One thing you might notice right off the bat is that all the furniture is mismatched. The pirates have pillaged and plundered furnishings and antiques from countless voyages, and they only took the best. Cask and Cannon ©Disney If you look at the carpet, you can see more ship details like rope and kraken tentacles (let’s hope the kraken are staying really far away), and if you look at the ceiling, you can see some of Imagineer Mark Davis’s concept art for the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. There are also seven pirate ships hidden, as Disney Destiny is Disney Cruise Line’s seventh ship. The carpet The portholes are meant to look like old tavern stained glass. The carvings on the outside look charred because of the iconic burning village scene on the ride. The lanterns look like the ones on the Disneyland Paris ride. ©Disney There are 13 drawers with treasure maps, each labeled with a scene from a different attraction. Some of the scenes include the Ghostly Grotto, Port Royale, Talking Skull Bay, Blue Bayou, and Treasure Cove. The stack of treasure chests creating the bar is a nod to the treasure rooms and Captain’s Quarters in the movies. The walls are also meant to look like different scenes from the attractions. ©Disney When we spoke with the Cast Member at the bar, they said they have some rare rums that were purchased at an auction and will be an ongoing project, so there should always be new and different rums to try. We’re always down for trying new “essentials” in the Disney World parks and hotels, because let’s be honest — some of them truly do make your trip better, but others? Yeah, others you want to stay far away from. Disposable Bed Sheets We consider it a big part of our job to try out these essentials to weed out the bad ones so you don’t spend money on things you’ll regret. Recently, we tried out four different essentials on our Disney World hotel stay, and we’ve gotta tell you that while we loved two of them, there’s one we recommend staying FAR away from. Get Some Peaceful Sleep Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine It may not seem like such a small device would make a big difference, but we’ve noticed that using the Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine to block out other sounds in Disney World hotels while we’re sleeping, or even while we’re at home, helps improve our sleep dramatically. It’s small, but mighty, that’s for sure! Super small This has three different intervals you can set, if you’d like to only have the sound going for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes, but you can also have it on continuously, if you’d like. There are 16 different sounds to choose from and 35 (!!) volume levels, which is incredibly impressive to us. Choose between different kinds of fans and fan speeds, standard white noise, soundscapes, waterfalls, rain, birds, lullabies, and so much more to find the one that helps you sleep the best. You won’t regret grabbing it, especially if you’re staying in a Disney World Value Hotel and those thin walls get the best of you! Check it out here! Make Charging Your Devices Easy! Charging Station When you’re packing, you need to ensure you’ve got all your chargers, but also don’t want them taking up a ton of space in your luggage. That’s where the 3 in 1 Charging Station comes in handy! It folds out super easily to allow you to charge your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch all at the same time, all by using only one charging port. Charging Station What we also love is that you’ll see the light shine blue when something is charging on one of the stations, so you never have to question if something is charging properly or not. The biggest perk of this (other than its price and the fact that it’s well-made) is that all of the pucks are interchangeable, so if you don’t have a smart watch but need to charge multiple iPhones, iPads, or AirPods. This is PERFECT Portable Shelves What we REALLY can’t stop shouting to the rooftops about is the TABITORA Portable Hanging Travel Shelves! Not only are these fantastic for holding multiple different outfits easily, including shoes, but they can FOLD UP to act as a packing cube as well. So you can basically pack up your outfits before your trip, hang this up in your hotel room so you can see everything you have, then fold it all back up quickly at the end of your trip. Hanging shelves all packed up. We seriously now bring this on nearly every single trip we go on, because we can’t imagine our trip without it. If you’re someone who enjoys unpacking (but not the actual hassle of it), this is 100% an essential you need — you won’t be disappointed! Check it out here! We’re Begging You NOT To Get These Disposable Bed Sheets Alright, here we go, the one product we CANNOT recommend at all, even though we like the idea behind them and can appreciate what the creator was trying to do, this Disposable Bed Sheet Set was a BIG NO. The hardest pass we’ve ever had in our lives, and that’s not an exaggeration. Again, we understand wanting to avoid sleeping on sheets or using towels that other people have used, but these? Yeah, we don’t want to see these ever again. Disposable Bed Sheets The execution here is just very poor. The set comes with a four-piece set of disposable bedding, two disposable bath towels, and two disposable face cloths, and the only thing we could stand to use were the face cloths, but even those were exceptionally long and didn’t have any scrubbing ability. The bath towels get water off of you, sure, but they smelled like you were wringing out a wet paper towel, and it was gross. The texture is similar to the paper smocks you wear at a doctor’s office, and we could easily see where that could be triggering/bring up bad memories for people. The sheets reminded us of the paper that covers the doctor’s office bed, which they change each time before a new patient comes in. Overall, using them felt very reminiscent of preparing a hospital bed or setting the scene for minimal clean-up before committing a crime, and we hope to never interact with them again. 2026 is coming in HOT, and Disney World is getting ready! Cinderella Castle Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be reopening after major refurbishments, and work will continue on several new lands and additions around the parks like Piston Peak, the Tropical Americas, and Monstropolis. But amongst all those new additions, we’ll be getting some things taken away! There are two big permanent closures that could be on Disney World’s docket for 2026, and if you’re planning a trip, you’ll want to be prepared. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith It was announced a little while back that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s current version will close in 2026 to make way for a new Muppet-themed version of the ride. This way, we can keep The Muppets in Hollywood Studios after the 2025 closing of Muppets Courtyard. ©Disney Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open in summer 2026 and will feature Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem on the soundtrack. We know that the current version of the ride will close in 2026, so we’ll likely be expecting a closure or announcement early in the year. ©Disney G-Force Records is going to have a snazzy new look now that Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, is in charge. The Electric Mayhem is lined up for their biggest Hollywood concert ever, and Disney teased, “With help from our friends at Muppet Labs and a very fast limousine, we’ll take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time.” Get All the Ride Details Here! The Current Version of Carousel of Progress The other closure we could see announced in 2026 is Carousel of Progress! Disney has shared that the current version of the ride will be getting some updates in the near future, including a brand-new Walt Disney animatronic. ©Disney The Walt animatronic will be the show’s new introduction scene, which is fitting since the attraction’s official name is Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. ‘The introduction of a new Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney in ‘Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress’ marks an exciting milestone in our shared mission to celebrate the story of the man behind the magic and inspire new generations with his innovations and vision for the future,” said Kirsten Komoroske, Executive Director of the Walt Disney Family Museum. Carousel of Progress Disney stated that more details about the Carousel of Progress update are coming in the future, including news about what John, Sarah, and the rest of the family are up to. Hopefully, this means we will get some updates to the other ride scenes as well. Based on these announcements, it’s likely Carousel of Progress will have to close sometime in 2026. In a christening celebration complete with drone show magic, live music and plenty of signature fanfare, Disney Cruise Line officially welcomed the Disney Destiny to its fleet Monday night. Godmother Susan Egan — who was the first to play Belle in Broadway’s “Beauty and the Beast” and voiced Megara in “Hercules” — helped officially launch the company’s third Wish-class ship and the cruise line’s seventh overall ship in Port Everglades. While the ceremony did not feature actual champagne, it did include a large bottle of bubbly projected onto the side of the Destiny, which popped at exactly the moment Egan christened the 144,000-gross-ton ship, which can accommodate 4,000 passengers. “It is a joy to be here with all of you on such a spectacular night,” she said. “I christen thee Disney Destiny. May God bless this ship and all who sail upon it.” Leading up to that moment, the port side of the ship served as a screen for projected images choreographed to music and drones overhead, which took the shape of Disney characters and words in a 15-minute spectacle. The show featured a musical medley with references to “The Lion King,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Hercules” and “101 Dalmatians.” The ceremony also featured remarks by Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, and Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences. The Grand Hall plays host to the “Sounds of Wakanda” musical celebration and two traveling storytellers, Zayah and Gamble, who tell tales of classic Disney villains. The same duo will host a variety of experiences throughout each voyage, including the adults-only “With Great Power: A Marvel Comedy Show.” Other themed areas are geared toward cruisers of drinking age including De Vil’s piano lounge, The Haunted Mansion Parlor, The Rose cocktail lounge and The Sanctum, which has mysterious drinks inspired by Doctor Strange. Guests of all ages can enjoy “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular,” which puts a fresh spin on the familiar tale of Anna, Elsa and Olaf. “Disney Seas the Adventure” stars popular Disney and Pixar characters in an original production. Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King provides a musical dining experience, complete with themed cuisine, that celebrates Simba’s journey to becoming king, and one of the main dining areas has a Marvel theme. The Incredibles make appearances in art throughout the ship and in the theming of Edna À La Mode Sweets, which has gelato, cupcakes, macarons and more. Toy Story theming plays into a splash zone on Deck 12. The Disney Destiny's Grand Hall features entertainment and appearances from characters, including Loki, on Nov. 10.
