Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room is a favorite of many Walt Disney World guests — and it’s easy to see why. Learn About: Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room Epcot Restaurants Disney World Restaurants The charm of this table service restaurant is apparent from the curb, as the facades of the United Kingdom in Epcot’s World Showcase blend from one architectural era to the next. And inside the doors? The charm continues. But all the charm in the world doesn’t mean a thing if the food isn’t good — and here, it’s good. Almost across the board, we’ve enjoyed our visits to Rose & Crown, no matter whether we dined in the Dining Room or in the Rose & Crown Pub that’s adjacent to the restaurant proper. On our last visit, we tried a Battered Bangers and Mash dish in the pub, but on this most recent visit, we were in the mood for the Dining Room — and those entrees! Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room Atmosphere Rose & Crown impresses from the jump, with the exteriors heavy and classic. We love the dark green window casings of the Rose & Crown Pub. Rose and Crown The main dining room features heavy dark woods in every direction. Plus there are homey details like decorative plates lining the walls. Rose and Crown Dining Room With the right lighting, the ceiling moldings are really a stand out. The main dining room is connected to the pub. If you’re feeling outdoorsy, consider dining on the patio. And if you can score an Advance Dining Reservation for IllumiNations time? Request to sit outside with a **fireworks view** so you can have a World Showcase Lagoon-side view of the fireworks and laser show! You won’t get any guarantees from the host(ess), but it’s worth the ask! Rose and Crown Patio Seating in the Pub is first come, first served, so no ADR required. But it can get crowded in there, and you might have a lengthy wait, so brace yourself. If all else fails and you must have some fish and chips, the Yorkshire County Fish and Chips quick service window is to the left of Rose & Crown and serves up super tasty bites. View of the Pub and Bar at Rose and Crown If you do stop into the Pub, be sure to say hello to Carl! He’s a beloved Rose & Crown Pub institution and a true Disney legend! Cheers with Carl at Rose and Crown Eats The menu at Rose & Crown is predictably British, and it all starts with the Drink Menu. Ales, lagers, stouts, and whiskey reign. There’s also a wine list and some pub blends — plus non-alcoholic options. Rose & Crown Drink Menu The Menu features tons of British classics: Scotch Egg, Fish and Chips, Corned Beef and Cabbage — the list goes on. So if you’ve always wanted to try one of these dishes (or you’ve already got a favorite), Rose & Crown is the place for you! Rose & Crown Menu I went for a tasty bowl of Potato and Leek Soup. (We’ve got the recipe here, in case you’re inclined to make a pot of your own!) Potato and Leek Soup This soup is thick and rich with subtle onion flavor from the leeks. It’s not the best on a hot Florida day, but on a rainy or chilly day it’s ideal. It’s really one of my favorite soups in WDW. Potato and Leek Soup For the entree round, I had to go big, trying some classics (with a twist, in some cases!). Rose & Crown Eats The Fish and Chips is insanely popular here, and it deserves its reputation for greatness! Rose & Crown Entrees Served up golden brown with lots of crispy bits to crunch on, the fish is crazy delicious. Rose & Crown Fish & Chips And because they know what they’re doing here, the fish is also moist inside! And can we not forget those awesome chips, please? They’re thick, potato gold. Rose & Crown Fish & Chips Interior I tried the new-ish Vegetable Cottage Pie (we hear you, our intrepid vegetarian readers!) which is packed with seasonal vegetables in a cauliflower cream sauce. The topping is smooth mashed potatoes and some goat cheese. Chives bring some color and a bit more flavor. Rose & Crown Vegetable Cottage Pie with Piccailly The mashed potatoes are awesome, and the goat cheese that’s dropped on top adds a ton of flavor. (Mix it in a bit if you want to spread the cheesy love!) Vegetable Cottage Pie The inside of is colorful, with lots of veggies (I spotted peas, carrots, zucchini, and summer squash), and the cauliflower cream sauce was good (not quite as flavorful as it could be). Maybe a cauliflower fan would enjoy it more than I did… Interior of Vegetable Cottage Pie Alongside the Vegetable Cottage Pie is a small jar of piccalilli. This English-style pickle wasn’t really my thing, but it provided a burst of color and flavor contrast to the otherwise kind of one-note pie. Piccalilli The Welsh Pub Burger comes with beer cheese sauce, so you know I had to get it. This is a tassssssty burger, y’all (I mean, chaps). Welsh Pub Burger It even made our list of Best Burgers in Disney World! The Angus beef patty is cooked to order and topped with the beer cheese sauce and beer-battered leeks. The Branston Mayonnaise is sweet chili flavored, so it’s got a great little punch of flavor, too. (You definitely want to get extra sides of both the beer-cheese and the Branston Mayonnaise!) Welsh Pub Burger I ordered Bubble and Squeak on the side. Traditionally this dish is made with potatoes and cabbage, but at Rose & Crown, there’s definitely potatoes, onions, and BACON — making this a great stick-to-your-ribs kind of dish. It isn’t the prettiest plate of food, I know, but there’s a lot of great flavor for sure! Bubble and Squeak Desserts at Rose & Crown follow the theme of classic British eats with Sticky Toffee Pudding, a Chocolate Nougat Bar, a Lemon Scone, and an English Trifle. Rose & Crown Dessert Menu You had me at Sticky Toffee Pudding. With extra hot buttered rum sauce. The steamed cake (pudding in Brit speak) is served atop vanilla custard. And this beauty is stunning. It’s a guest favorite for sure, but the flavors might be a little different than what you’re expecting. Made with chopped dates, the cake itself is sometimes not as sweet as you’d expect. So order extra hot buttered rum sauce ;-D Sticky Toffee Pudding The English Trifle was a bit of a disappointment, to be honest. The components all sound great: strawberries, vanilla custard, graham crackers, whipped cream. But why wouldn’t you use a glass or bowl that shows the layers? English Trifle And while it tasted OK, it was kind of gooey mess. If you’ve got a picky eater, they’ll probably be okay with this one. English Trifle Ooh, that’s a meal, folks. So many good things to eat on the menu at Rose & Crown, you’ll have to go back again and again to try them all. And you’ll want to because the overall vibe here is so comfortable and warm, it’s like dining at your gran’s. Nosh or Not? Fly your Union Jack if: You love classic British fare and gotta have some while on vacay! You want some consistently tasty table service while touring the World Showcase. You are hoping to score IllumiNations viewing from the patio. Travel onward if: British cuisine just isn’t your thing. You prefer to dine on slightly more unusual fare, like Spice Road Table or Tokyo Dining. You’ve got too many attractions to enjoy and can only squeeze in quick service eats. Overall With so many excellent places to dine in Epcot, you might have a hard to deciding where to go. But Rose & Crown makes a strong case for a valuable ADR every. single. time. Monday evening, hundreds of Disney Parks Blog readers celebrated all things Pixar, including the newly reimagined Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure park, at the Disney Parks Blog Pixar Party Meet-Up. The meet-up kicked off with reserved viewing for the dazzling “Paint the Night” parade, one of the exciting elements of the limited-time Pixar Fest going on now at the Disneyland Resort. Following, guests enjoyed a special screening of Pixar’s best-loved shorts at Sunset Showcase Theater (Pixar Shorts Film Festival will resume on July 20). Then, guests were treated to a lively panel discussion with Imagineers who worked on bringing Pixar Pier to life! Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Producer Jeffrey Shaver-Moskowitz, Creative Director Tracey Noce and Creative Director Debbie Gonzalez shared a bit about the creative inspiration and behind-the-scenes process behind Pixar Pier. Toy Story Land is OPEN, y’all! And it’s as awesome as we dreamed it would be! And if you’re one of the many, MANY people who are going to go for a Slinky Dog Dash and an Alien Swirling Saucer, you’re going to need to recharge your batteries at some point, as we TOYS say! Enter Woody’s Lunch Box! This brand spankin’ new quick service spot is ca-razy fun, with clever details everywhere you look! Woody’s Lunch Box You know we had to get into that lunch and dinner menu ASAP — and we tried EVERYTHING on the menu! But unless you’ve got a bottomless stomach (or several TSL visits planned!), you’ll need to narrow that menu down to the MUST EATS. So here ya go, cowboys and cowgirls! The Five Things You HAVE to Eat in Toy Story Land! 1. Grown Up Grilled Cheese You might be shrunk down to the size of a toy in Toy Story Land, but you’ve still got a grown up appetite. And you want to fill it with cheese. Hey — we’re right there with you! You’ve gotta order the Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich. Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich This gorgeousness combines cheddar and provolone cheeses with cheddar cream cheese (CHEDDAR. CREAM. CHEESE.) for that triple threat — plus it’s grilled with garlic butter. Holla at that grilled cheese, fellow toys! 2. Lunch Box Tarts Yeah, these are basically fancy-fied Pop Tarts, and they’re every bit as irresistible as the packaged variety we all grew up noshing. The Disneyland Resort in California was one of the first places Maddie Poppe visited after becoming the next “American Idol.” And, just two weeks later, she took a break from a hectic schedule to enjoy “a girl’s trip” to Walt Disney World Resort with her mom, Tonya, and sister, Hannah. We first met Maddie during this season of “American Idol” when the show celebrated its first Disney Night, as she taped segments for the episode at Disneyland. After her win, she returned to the Resort, where she surprised a Disney Performing Arts Visiting Choir. Now, she just completed her first visit to Walt Disney World, where she finally met Mickey Mouse – and, admitted he left her “a little star struck.” Maddie’s first single, “Going Going Gone” is already climbing the charts, and she’ll join the rest of “Idol’s” Top 7 when the begin their nationwide tour on July 11th. New Orleans Square is one of our favorite areas of Disneyland Resort — and not just because it’s the home of Cafe Orleans, where we happily nosh on three of our top Disney Parks eats: the Monte Cristo sandwich, Pommes Frites with amazing Spicy Cajun Remoulade, and Mickey-Shaped beignets (which we can finally enjoy at Walt Disney World, too!). New Orleans Square New Orleans Square also happens to be the location of two of the park’s most iconic rides: Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. And it’s these must-do attractions that have been immortalized as only Starbucks can: on a You Are Here Mug! You know what we’re talking about: those colorful mugs that depict classic Disney Parks sights and attractions. We’ve been fans for years — and we know lots of you are, too! Benvenuto to Terralina Crafted Italian! Learn About: Terralina Crafted Italian Downtown Disney Disney World Restaurants Terralina Crafted Italian is the newest restaurant in Disney Springs. The location itself is the former home to Portobello Country Italian Trattoria, which closed in The Landing of Disney Springs last year. But location isn’t the only thing that Terralina shares with what was previously Portobello. James Beard Award Winner Chef Tony Mantuano has returned to create Terralina’s menu, and he’s joined once more by Chef Justin Plank to run the kitchen. In fact, even a few favorite items from Portobello can be found on the Terralina menu. With so many likenesses, then, what makes Terralina Crafted Italian stand on its own as a new option for dining in Disney Springs? Atmosphere With the April 2017 closure of Portobello, the space that is now Terralina Crafted Italian underwent a multi-million dollar refurbishment. Terralina Crafted Italian The basic architectural structure of the building feels familiar, as you’ll note the rounded entrance way with the new Terralina Crafted Italian sign. Terralina Crafted Italian Check-in However, stepping inside you can see a few changes to the decor, which has been inspired by the “lifestyle of Italy’s lakefront district.” Terralina Crafted Italian Terralina Crafted Italian The footprint really hasn’t changed much. The dining areas are all where they used to be, as is the bar. They all present a neutral color palate balanced with deep reds, browns, and black. Terralina Crafted Italian Terralina Crafted Italian And the inviting atmosphere is further enhanced with a lovely fireplace surrounded by chairs in the entryway. Terralina Crafted Italian Terralina Crafted Italian The kitchen, with its wood-burning ovens, is now the central focus. Kitchen Artwork hanging on the walls does more than provide decoration. Terralina Crafted Italian Terralina Crafted Italian It helps to deepen the story that guests have been transported to the shores of Italy. Terralina Crafted Italian And — intentional or not — you KNOW there have to be more than a few Hidden Mickeys in this hanging plates design! Terralina Crafted Italian The outdoor bar and seating areas are still offer nice water-side dining. Terralina Crafted Italian Terralina Crafted Italian And, naturally, the space makes the most of the waterfront views. Terralina Crafted Italian Overall, you’re not going to see too much change if you have dined at Portobello in the past. A refresh for sure, but…honestly…my first thought was that it felt kind of like a nice Olive Garden inside. Don’t get me wrong — I have no problem with Olive Garden — but I didn’t see a lot of truly unique aspects to the space. Eats — The Menu Authentic Italian flavors are celebrated in both traditional and new ways at Terralina Crafted Italian. The full menu features some favorites from Portobello, but also new dishes created by Chef Mantuano. The Antipasti Tower for four headlines the Antipasti menu. As our server said, “this is basically very similar to the old antipasti, except now it’s got two levels.” Antipasti Menu Salads and the popular (from Portobello) Wood-Fired Pizzas are next, including a Pizza of the Week option. From the Garden and Pizza Menu What Italian menu would be complete without Pasta? Pasta Menu For the Table features shareable entrees, each served with shaved fennel salad and a choice of roasted potato planks, crispy polenta fries, or Yukon mashed potatoes. (These serve two, and are priced per person.) For the Table Menu The final portion of the large menu focuses on options From the Hearth, From the Grill, and Sides. Hearth, Grilled and Sides Menu The Wine List is extensive (click either image to enlarge). Wine List Wine List Drinks features cocktails and beer, of course, but also offer Italian Specialties like Orange Blossom Lemonade. Beverage Menu Note that several of the signature craft cocktails are infused with muddled herbs. Herbs at the Bar The popular Biramisu is back on the Dessert menu, but now uses a vanilla beer for more sweetness! Dessert Menu Dessert Drinks Menu And, for the record, Happy Hour takes place Sunday through Thursday! Happy Hour Eats — Dinner I started with the Spaghetti Fritters from the Antipasti menu. Spaghetti Fritters These were a great way to start, because not only were they interesting and unique, but they really grew on me. At first bite, the breading was way too hard and crunchy. But after a took a few more bites I enjoyed them more. You’ve got to check out the inside to get a better idea of how the pasta itself remained tender inside the fried breading. Plus, you gotta love the gooey mozzarella! Spaghetti Fritters From the Pasta dishes, I chose the Housemade Lasagna, which is a vegetarian dish (as ordered from the menu) with spinach, ricotta, mozzarella, pecorino, and a spicy tomato sauce. Housemade Lasagna Honestly, this would have been better, I think, with a meat sauce — and it’s worth noting that you can indeed order it that way, even if you won’t see it listed on the menu. It’s decent as is, and the flavors are good, but I found the spicy tomato sauce itself to actually be too sweet…there wasn’t any spice to it that I could find. I chose an array of desserts because… DESSERTS ! And here’s what I can tell you… they’re somewhat hit-and-miss, but I’m going to start out with the definite HIT: the Gelato Sandwich (which is listed as an Ice Cream Sandwich on the menu, but it’s totally gelato)! Gelato Sandwich YES, it looks like the Millennium Falcon, if that’s what you’re thinking… because that’s what I was thinking . But that’s not the only awesome thing about it. Pizzele (thin waffle-like cookies) surround salted caramel gelato. The end is dipped in chocolate and the edges are further coated in a toffee crunch. I was SUPER impressed with this dessert. So much so that I would actually call it a destination dessert…as in go there now and get it, even if you don’t get anything else. The gelato was wonderful, and the meltiness gave a just-slight-enough softness to the crunchy pizzele. The chocolate dip was the perfect accompaniment. Sometimes a dessert combines all the right textures and flavors, and this one succeeded. The Cappuccino Creme Brulee was, unfortunately, a miss. Cappuccino Creme Brulee The really strange thing about it was that it wasn’t creamy at all. It had more of a panna cotta-ish, jello-like texture. And since that creamy consistency is a hallmark of creme brulee… well, I can’t recommend it. I finished with the Flourless Chocolate Cake served with fresh berries, sweet cream, hazelnuts, and brittle. Flourless Chocolate Cake This was more impressive. First of all, it was HUGE. And very rich. I kid you not when I say this thing could serve three people. Inside is a sweet cream filling that offsets the semi-bitter chocolate a tiny bit. It’s the perfect chocoholic treat. So, that was my first visit to Terralina Crafted Italian for its regular operations. But! Eats — Lunch DFB Reader Mark H. enjoyed lunch at Terralina on its opening day. (Thanks again, Mark!) Though he ordered items also seen on the dinner menu (as the majority of the menu is the same), here’s a shot of some the Sandwiches available just for lunch. Lunch Items And here’s a look at the Kids’ Menu. Kids’ Menu Mark enjoyed the Ciabatta bread, saying it was “excellent,” though he noted that he didn’t try the pickled veggies that came with it since he is not personally a fan. (I hear you.) Note that the ciabatta bread is free with both lunch and dinner — it’s just the standard bread service. Ciabatta Bread He also tried the Calamari appetizer, and shared that it was lightly breaded and slightly chewy, “which for me means great.” Calamari For the main course, he chose the Seafood Cannelloni. He shared that though it looked just so-so, his impression changed upon tasting it due to the superb lobster sauce! He also said the two Cannelloni were giant, and could be shared by two people. (But he didn’t share. Which is why we’re now friends.) Seafood Cannelloni And for dessert, the Lemon Panna Cotta, which he thought was very light, with not too much lemon. Lemon Panna Cotta Overall? He recommends! BUT! We have even MORE for you… Media Preview … because we were able to attend a Media Preview for Terralina Crafted Italian the night before it opened! Carving Meats Station For the Preview, the items were set up buffet-style, featuring various parts of different entrees, so typical plating is not displayed here. Carving Meats Station But we’d love to give you a look at the array of items. Capicola Bocconcini Bocconcini and Tomatoes Citrus-marinated Porchetta Giardiniera Swordfish Peperonata What really stood out the most was how incredibly fresh everything was, bright and refreshing in both appearance and flavor! Salad Station Carving Station Tomatoes Fresh Grilled Vegetables Salad Salami Grilled Brick Chicken A favorite of ours among the dishes came from the Pasta Station. Pasta Station The Pork Ragu was an absolute standout (even though, judging by the people gathered around this station throughout the evening, just about everything was pretty popular)! Pork Ragu You can just tell from the imperfections on the pasta itself how incredibly fresh it is, with fresh cut marks on the pasta. Pork Ragu SERIOUSLY good and abundantly flavorful! We were also impressed with the Apple Mostarda for the Housemade Porchetta from the For The Table offerings. (During the Preview, components from various menu items were featured separately.) Apple Mostarda Fresh Parmesan was available everywhere! Fresh Parmesan And here you’ll see bottles of Chef Mantuano’s signature olive oil, which is imported from Italy. Olive Oil Bottles Interestingly, the Cannoli we were able to try for dessert is not currently listed on the menu. Cannoli But I did enjoy it, and will be curious to see if it becomes a regular addition after all. Until then (and probably after, too), I’m sticking with that Gelato Sandwich! So now, you’ll want to consider whether you want to… Nosh or Not? You might want to visit Terralina Crafted Italian if: You were a fan of Portobello and want to try some of the dishes you loved and sample some new items. You are looking for decent Italian food in Disney Springs. You want to enjoy some of the new outdoor bar areas, which are especially inviting here. (Plus… Happy Hour!) You might want to pass on Terralina Crafted Italian if: You’ve already booked other Italian restaurants in Disney World for your trip. Dining in Disney Springs isn’t in your vacation plans (though it really ought to be, IMHO). Overall Terralina Crafted Italian is what I expected it to be. It’s a decent Italian restaurant in a nice setting. Which is what it was before. Chef Mantuano certainly has his share of fans, and I think they’ll be especially pleased with Terralina Crafted Italian. Bonjour, Disney cruise fans! Are you ready to take a journey with me to new Disney Cruise Line destinations in beautiful France? Next year, first-time calls on Brest and Toulon, France, offer boundless opportunities to enjoy breathtaking views, timeless adventures and delicious cuisines…You may end up feeling like you’ve entered your favorite scenes from “Beauty and the Beast!” (Minus the talking houseware, of course.) But don’t fret — “poor provincial towns” these are not! From enchanting medieval villages and elegant castles to traditional street markets and stunning seaside vistas, a day in either of these dazzling destinations will have you wondering how to make a moment last forever. Be Out Guest, Sail to Brest This picturesque naval port city is the gateway to the charming region of Brittany in northwestern France. Divided by the PenfeId river, Brest boasts impressive medieval landmarks, scenic coastlines and exquisite dining — from the freshest seafood to the most indulgent crepes. And, with its rich military history, the city has plenty of tales to tell. History: While in town, don’t miss your chance to tour the city’s oldest landmark, the Château de Brest, a 1,700-year-old castle and home to the National Maritime Museum. You can also visit the Tour Tanguy, a 14-century watchtower positioned just across the river, whose rounded walls house historical maps, coats of arms and city models. Nature: Families will love a day at the incredible Océanopolis aquarium, the only center of its kind in Europe, where you can discover unique exhibits, 50 different tanks and more than 1,000 species. The city also has a magnificent conservatory devoted to the cultivation of rare and endangered species, where you can relax among the many tropical gardens or in the lush valley with its waterfalls and streams. Fun in the Sun: Near the city center is Plage du Moulin Blanc, a fabulous white-sand beach perfect for kicking back with a cocktail or trying out surfing, windsurfing and other watersports. Beyond Brest: Just 15 minutes outside the city are the ruins of Abbaye de Daoulas, a 12th-century abbey that remains a beautiful site with a spectacular cloister and wonderful gardens. You could also explore the grounds and fort surrounding the striking medieval lighthouse at the Fort du Petit Minou, which are located westward along the coast of Brest, or go hiking on nearby granite cliffs to find hidden beaches and medieval military defensive hideaways. There’s More to the Provençal Life in Toulon Located on a resplendent natural harbor in the Mediterranean, Toulon is an open door to France’s renowned Provence region, known for its seaside resorts, fine wines, Roman and Medieval architecture and pleasant climate. The city itself also has much to offer, with fantastic dining, shopping and discovering to be enjoyed at every corner. 
Culture: Head to the Toulon’s historic Old Town to stroll through quaint squares and marvel at their spectacular fountains. While you’re there, you won’t want to miss the enormous Provençal Market, a traditional street market with row upon row of fresh food, delicacies and flowers galore. You can also check out the bustling hub of Upper Town for local cafés, restaurants and fashionable stores. Dining: Like all of Provence, Toulon is famous for its superb cuisine, so excellent restaurants and cafes are abundant and feature culinary specialties include tapenade, ratatouille and bouillabaisse. While you’re there, be sure to try chichi frégi, a donut-like pastry flavored with orange blossom, and cade toulonnaise, a chickpea-flour flatbread. Adventure: Take a cable car to the summit of Mont Faron for stunning panoramic views of the harbor, plus footpaths for hiking, ideal spots for picnics and fun play areas for the kids. For World War II buffs, the area includes a fascinating museum of military history that commemorates the Allied invasion on the coast of Provence in 1944. Beyond Toulon: Many of southern France’s most celebrated cities are accessible from the port of Toulon. Make your way to Marseille, the country’s second-largest city, to explore its famous Old Port and the outstanding basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde. Or take a journey to the glamorous sites of the Côte d’Azur (you may know it as the French Riviera), home of the Principality of Monaco, chic Saint-Tropez and cultured Cannes. Just a few days ago during the dedication of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tim Allen joined Bob Chapek, Chairman, Disney Parks Experiences and Consumer Products, and favorite “Toy Story” pals, bringing the necessary star power to turn on the other toys in the land. Together, they pulled a Crayon lever sending Slinky Dog on a wild dash around Andy’s backyard, signaling the opening of Toy Story Land! Pyro and confetti filled the air as the crowds cheered! Among the crowd was Tim’s family and together they played big! While visiting Andy’s backyard, Tim and his daughter Elizabeth whooshed aboard Slinky Dog Dash and took an intergalactic spin on Alien Swirling Saucers. Then, he and his wife Jane enjoyed 4D midway games on Toy Story Mania! Tim’s visit wouldn’t be complete without some one-on-one time with his longtime pal. With the 4th of July right around the corner, my mind is occupied with thoughts of camping, cookouts and fireworks with my family. I can’t think of any more spectacular fireworks than those found (nightly) at Walt Disney World Resort, but the last thing I want to do after a fun-filled day in the Parks is squeeze my family into a cramped tent. The much anticipated Toy Story Land is open and it’s time to play big in Andy’s backyard! Last week, two members of the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Brandy B. and Missy F., had the opportunity to check out all the new offerings, and their suggestion? Run like the wind to the largest expansion yet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and be prepared for a flood of childhood memories, exciting attractions and tasty bites that come right out of Andy’s Woody-themed lunch box! Walking into the land for her first time, Missy loved how toys from every generation brought back the nostalgia of her childhood. “As soon as I saw that Fisher Price camper van with the throwback style Little People driver, it was as if I was instantly a kid again,” she exclaimed. Brandy was also amazed by the details of the backyard created through the imagination of 10-year-old boy. “Andy has transformed his backyard into this magical play area with items you might expect a young boy to use when building playsets. Scraps of notes his mom left in his lunchbox are now tablecloths, Babybel cheeses cut in half are used to make chairs, while its wrapper serves as an umbrella. There are even bendy straws being used as posts and wrapped with Christmas lights!” Ready to glide along on Slinky Dog Dash and giggle with delight on Alien Swirling Saucers? Our two panelists could not get enough, but Brandy does have some tips for those traveling with smaller kiddos. “The two new Toy Story Land attractions do have height restrictions. Toys must be 32” tall to ride Alien Swirling Saucers and 38” tall to board Slinky Dog Dash. However, toys of all ages are welcome to experience the rootin’ tootin’ fun of Toy Story Mania. For those with little ones that do not measure up just yet, there is Rider Switch which allows everyone to get in on the fun. This service is now completely digital and can be linked to your My Disney Experience account.” Missy was quick to say that Slinky Dog Dash is her new favorite attraction. “I squealed with joy as I twisted and turned past beloved characters and toys. I know that my entire family, from my little ones to my teenagers, will LOVE it!” After all the fun, what’s next? Lunch! Brandy has a few recommendations you must try. “At Woody’s Lunch Box, you have your choice of items that I am sure mom would like for you to eat – such as the Smoked Turkey Sandwich with a cool macaroni salad – or items we all wished our moms would pack each day – such as the potato barrel Totchos filled with ooey gooey cheese and chili! You really cannot sneak off without picking up a treat straight out of childhood, the Lunch Box Tart!” And just like a mom does, Missy reminds everyone to wear their sunscreen. “Without a lot of shade, it can be hot, especially during the summer months. Take advantage of water fountains in the standby queues and be sure to apply sunscreen. I suggest bringing a cooling towel with you to help you stay comfortable and refreshed.” Finally, don’t forget the newest, and ever popular Disney walls. Missy and Brandy were both fond of the #blockwall, made up of primary colored building blocks and located by the restrooms. The #popsiclestickwall was another favorite and is found near the exit of Slinky Dog Dash. Made up of what? You guessed it, leftover popsicle sticks Andy enjoyed on a hot summer day out in the backyard. All of them serve as a unique background for your next selfie or family photo!
