It’s barely November and Holiday treats are popping up all over Walt Disney World! Magic Kingdom Christmas Cupcake We’ve already stuffed our faces with a Hot Cocoa Cupcake, Peppermint Cheesecake, and tons of fresh Christmas cookies at the Contemporary Gingerbread Display! And we have our happy DFB elves constantly on the lookout for more Yuletide treats to share with you. Which is why we couldn’t WAIT to show you this upcoming holiday dream! This thing is giving us all kinds of feels — but not the warm fuzzy ones. Seriously — I can’t tell which scarier: the eyes or the teeth?! It’s like he’s always watching me and looking through me at the same time. Photo via Twitter / @DisneySprings Less terrifying is the fact that Olaf is milk chocolate, and filled with mini pumpkin spice marshmallows. (Which actually sounds delicious, even though we’re not all that excited about this particular Olaf giving us any warm hugs.) For more, less horrifying fun, there have been an avalanche of Frozen 2 treats that have already flurried into Walt Disney World. WE DO! With the holidays quickly approaching, we keep hearing the date “November 8th” EVERYWHERE. But while November 8th may feel lightyears away from Christmas, it isn’t…well not at the Disney Parks anyways! Magic Kingdom starts donning its Christmas Attire This is because November 8th is the day that Santa Claus and all of the rest of the holiday happenings come to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort this year! And folks, there’s a LOT of new experiences for guests to enjoy this holiday season! We’re already in the holiday spirit knowing that Christmas in Disney is on its way. But while we’ve already seen decorations in Hollywood Studios, retro merchandise, a bunch of new ornaments, adorable Christmas alien ears, and more, we cannot help but get excited for all of the food and entertainment making its way to Disney November 8th! NEW holiday snowmice caramel apples Walt Disney World Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom BEGINS! The 2019 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party officially kicks off on November 8th at Magic Kingdom. This year will be a little different in that Disney is introducing a NEW firework show along with new holiday attraction overlays. Decor at the Party Holiday Wishes is officially being replaced by Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. The show will be hosted by none other than Miss Minnie Mouse herself and will include classic holiday songs like Joy to the World, Deck the Halls, Up on the House-Top, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Disney has also shared that the show and score were created to “evoke heartfelt moments of home and family, as well as the festive fun of the season before an incredible finale you won’t want to miss.” Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks ©Disney Another important thing to note is that you should be able to enjoy the fireworks throughout the park. Since this is the first time the show is being presented to the public, there will likely be a large crowd for viewing. If you’re not worried about seeing the front of the castle, I suggest heading to Gaston’s Tavern to grab a cinnamon roll and to sit outside to watch the fireworks away from the crowds. (But note that, like the new Halloween fireworks show this year, we’re guessing that the castle projections will be integral to the story.) Disney has been testing out fun attraction overlays for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween parties for a while now, but this year a few festive overlays are coming to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party as well. Beginning November 8th, Tomorrowland Speedway will be decked out in thousands of twinkling lights. ©Disney A new show is also making its way to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. This is usually a great place to stop and relax, especially if you have little ones who need a break from the rides or the crowds. Get ready for a new intergalactic journey, because Space Mountain is also getting a holiday makeover. Not only will you be surrounded by dazzling lights when traveling to outer space, but you’ll get to jam out to some fun holiday tunes along the way. Space Mountain The Mad Tea Party should also be a fun-filled festive stop thanks to its four new combos of holiday lights and music! And while treats have yet to be announced for this festive fair, you can likely expect many new and returning treats to make their way to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Magic Kingdom on November 8th. We’re looking forward to trying that new Olaf hot chocolate cake! Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake Main Street Bakery There’s so much to share! New Decor and Entertainment in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Disney is also debuting a bunch of new decor and entertainment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on November 8th. This year, each land with be decorated! Which is huge and festive. If you’re looking to see this new holiday decor in action, we suggest heading to Animal Kingdom in the evening as most of it will come to life once the sun sets! Animal Kingdom Christmas Tree In Discovery Island, guests will find themselves “in the midst of a celebration of winter, hand-crafted by the eclectic community of artists who make the island their home.” There will also be a holiday gathering of winter animals. Disney has created these life-size creatures in the form of puppets — which you can take a closer look at here! Animal Kingdom Holiday Puppets And speaking of Discovery Island, each night Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life will come to life for a few holiday awakenings. Disney has also given us a preview of this new show — which you can see here. Holidays at Animal Kingdom Concept Art ©Disney We think this is a great option for little ones who are afraid of fireworks and loud noises. DinoLand U.S.A., which has already started to receive its holiday makeover is introducing a few new entertainment offerings and some fun new decor. This holiday season, guests will be able to see decorations “in the style of Donald Duck and each of his pals.” Santa Goofy in DinoLand USA 2018 Each night, guests can play and dance during the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party with Chip ‘n’ Dale! Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will transform as well as Disney celebrates Diwali, the festival of lights in India. The square between Anandapur Theatre and the waterfront stage will light up thanks to lanterns and glowing flowers. Animal Kingdom Holiday Lantern The holiday decor that you will find in Africa was inspired by the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations. Annnd even Pandora — World of Avatar is joining in on the festive fun as they too will be decorating for the holidays. Expect to see kitschy holiday decor at Pongu Pongu and more. Pandora – The World of Avatar While we’ve already started to see decor popping up around Animal Kingdom, the holidays won’t officially kick off here until November 8th! There’s a LOT happening on November 8th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. From November 8th – January 5th, 2020 guests can watch Sunset Seasons Greetings and Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM each night. Hollywood Studios Christmas Decorations Sunset Seasons Greetings is a show that takes place on Sunset Boulevard and guests can watch as The Hollywood Tower Hotel comes to life with lasers and projections. Scenes will include Mickey and Minnie, Toy Story, the Swedish Chef from The Muppers, and Olaf. Sunset Seasons Greetings Sunset Boulevard will also come alive with holiday magic thanks to a bit of Disney snow magic! We’ve already seen a bit of snow (of as we like to call it — snoap) thanks to a machine malfunction. Learn all about that here. Sunset Seasons Greetings This is another great festive option for those with little ones who are sensitive to the sounds of fireworks! The Chinese Theatre near the front of Hollywood Studios will also come to life once again on November 8th thanks to Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! This show includes lasers, fireworks, and scenes from films like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. Guests will also have the opportunity to sing along to holiday songs with Disney pals like Minnie, Mickey, Olaf, and more! Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM 2018 Jingle Bell Jingle Bam also has a dining package option — which you can learn more about here! Disney typically releases a Flurry of Fun holiday treats at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well. Though Disney has yet to share info on this all of the Flurry of Fun treats, we will be on the lookout and will be sure to update you guys if we find any goodies! Chocolate Mousse Present In the meantime, you can check out ALL of the treats for last year so your tummies know just what to expect. Epcot Holiday Celebrations Though Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays does not kick off until November 29th, we expect they will join in on the November 8th fun by introducing a few festive treats. Christmas in Epcot Read ALL ABOUT Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays here! Disneyland Resort Lots of holiday happenings will also take place at Disneyland Resort beginning on November 8th. Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays The annual Festival of Holidays, which takes place at Disney California Adventure, will officially kick-off on November 8th. This Festival is filled with food, entertainment, and merchandise. 2018 Tasting Passport While the menus have not yet been released for the Festival of Holidays, be sure to check out our best of the fest menu from last year so you know what to be on the lookout for. Spicy Celebrations Festive Foods Marketplace Booth The Disney California Festival of Holidays will run from November 8th, 2019 – January 6th, 2020. World of Color — Season of Light at Disney California Adventure World Color — Season of Light, which is the holiday version of World of Color, will also come to life on November 8th at Disney California Adventure. ©Disney This fabulously festive show includes lasers, water, fire, and of course fountains! Buena Vista Street Holiday Tree Lighting in Disney California Adventure Beginning November 8th, the plaza outside of Elias & Co. will come to life. This annual ceremony should be filled with magic thanks to the tree lighting and the bell ringing performance. Mickey Mouse himself may even join in on the fun! ©Disney This should be a fun festive event for the whole family! Believe…in Holiday Magic Fireworks Disney has already started prepping for their Believe… in Holiday Magic Fireworks Spectacular by adding snow to the top of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Sleeping Beauty Castle with First Snow Fall This show will light up the skies again beginning on November 8th, so grab your Disneyland Candy Canes, fudge, and cookies and watch Sleeping Beauty’s Castle come alive with holiday magic. A Christmas Fantasy Parade Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Woody, Buzz, Mickey, Minnie, and a few of the Disney Princesses should also take to the streets with A Christmas Fantasy Parade. ©Disney The Parade lasts about 40 minutes and will end with the most magical celebration of all — Santa! We also expect that a few other delicious Christmas goodies will be making their way to Disneyland around November 8th as well. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the return of Disneyland’s famous Candy Canes. But as you can see — November 8th is a HUGE day for Disneyland and Disney World! Happy Holidays from DFB!! Christmas Decorations in Magic Kingdom We’re feeling pretty merry with all the Christmas decorations going up in Magic Kingdom. While we’ve seen Main Street haul out the holly with wreaths and treats, we’re heading to the most futuristic land in the park to check out MORE decor! Tomorrowland is getting sprinkled with some pixie dust and snow to gear up for Christmas time! Tomorrowland Stage The Tomorrowland Stage has decked its halls in silver! Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands transform the stage with colorful ornaments to make everything bright and cheery. Tomorrowland Stage Christmas Decorations We’re loving the silver tinsel garland mixed with pops of color! After seeing the stage, we couldn’t help but follow the Christmas garland over to… Christmas Garland …the seasonal overlay at Tomorrowland Speedway! Tomorrowland Speedway White Christmas trees pepper the lawn, sitting pretty for guests to spot during their drive around the track. Christmas Trees We’re hoping that maybe they can play some Christmas music during the ride! After all, we love to crank up the radio while we’re cruisin’ around during the holidays! Tomorrowland Speedway Seasonal Overlay We’re hopeful this is just the start of the overlay decor at Tomorrowland Speedway, so we’ll be checking back to see if more festive decorations appear! Haul out the holly! It’s Christmas at Disney’s Magic Kingdom! Christmas at Magic Kingdom It’s truly out with the old, in with the new, as Magic Kingdom is in the midst of a full transformation to become a Magical Winter Wonderland! We picked up a new holiday cupcake at Big Top Souvenirs, but we’re happy to report, an entire line of Holiday deliciousness has made its way to Main Street Confectionery. We found a WHOLE bunch of goodies, including 3 varieties of Holiday Cupcakes, Holiday Cookies, and a selection of NEW Holiday Caramel Apples! We hope you’re hungry! New Christmas treats at Main Street Confectionery We are MELTING over these next two NEW Holiday Caramel Apples. You can have your pick from either a Snowman or Snowlady! Both Holiday Caramel Apples are covered in white, sugary snow and topped with black sugar-covered marshmallow ears. Chocolate details the eyes and mouth and there are lashes, of course, for the Snowlady! She’s even complete with a chocolate bow! Holiday Caramel Apples These remind us of all the cute snowman merch we’ve seen popping up! Snowman Caramel Apples These Mickey & Minnie Holiday Caramel Apples feature a caramel and chocolate-covered apple that is half dipped in red sugar and decorated with green chocolate candies. They are topped with chocolate ears and either a red chocolate bow for Minnie, or a chocolate Santa hat for Mickey! Holiday Caramel Apples If classic is your thing, you can’t go wrong with this Minnie Holiday Caramel Apple. The chocolate-covered caramel apple features Minnie’s signature polka dots in the form of red sugar and white chocolate candies. She’s complete with a red and white chocolate bow! Holiday Caramel Apple We first found this festive Holiday Cupcake at Big Top Souvenirs, but we’re happy to see it has made its way to the Main Street Confectionery. The standard vanilla cupcake is topped with green buttercream, chocolate Mickey ears and a white chocolate snowflake. He even has a cute red icing Santa hat and powdered sugar “snow” on top! Holiday Cupcakes at Magic Kingdom This next Holiday Cupcake features a chocolate cupcake that is topped with pink sprinkles, white buttercream icing, a red chocolate bow, festive sprinkles, and chocolate ears! We love the detailing on this one with the cute red bow! It is priced at $5.19. Holiday Cupcakes at Main Street Confectionery The last of the Holiday Cupcakes we found is an ode to the big guy himself, Mickey Mouse! Featuring a chocolate cupcake, it’s topped with red buttercream frosting and chocolate Mickey ears. This one shines bright with a white chocolate star on top and sugary snow crystals all around. It is also priced at $5.19. Holiday Cupcakes at Main Street Confectionery We also found two varieties of Mickey Holiday Sugar Cookies. Available in either green or white, these cookies are priced at $5.49 and feature a generous coating of white chocolate and red, white, and green sprinkles! It’s almost the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, you guys! Cinderella Castle Lit Up for Christmas! And, Disney World jumped right in to setting up their Christmas decorations after the end of Halloween. While we’ve seen decorations in Hollywood Studios, now another park is joining the holiday cheer! Magic Kingdom has started to put up its Christmas decorations! (Yes, a few Fall items are left here and there. Happy Hallowmas? Chrismaween? Jack Skellington would be proud!) Christmas (and Halloween) Decorations in Magic Kingdom Once you first enter the park at the bus stops, you’ll notice wreaths welcoming guests for a season of laughter and fun! Magic Kingdom Bus Stop But, obviously, that first walk down Main Street with all the decorations is the most exciting part. Would you look at that view? (Sigh.) Main Street, U.S.A. Casey’s Corner is all dolled up to wish you a Merry Christmas… Casey’s Corner at Christmas …along with the Main Street Confectionery… Main Street Confectionery at Christmas … the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor… Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Christmas …and even the Main Street Popcorn Cart (we might need to make some Disney popcorn decorations for our trees this year)! Popcorn Stands at Christmas We even spotted the Santa Mickey Loungefly Backpack hanging out in the shops’ windows! Dear Santa, we promise we’ve been good this year! The stage is set for Christmas at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom! Christmas is Coming to Magic Kingdom We are so excited for Cinderella Castle’s first holiday lighting this weekend, and now we have more festive news to share with you. A new Christmas Cupcake has entered the ring at Big Top Souvenirs, located in Fantasyland. Christmas Cupcake at Big Top Souvenirs While this is your standard vanilla cupcake with plain green buttercream, the fun is in the detailing! The cupcake features green icing, chocolate Mickey ears and a white chocolate snowflake on the side. He even has a cute red icing Santa hat and powdered sugar “snow” on top! New Christmas Cupcake at Magic Kingdom Word to the wise: it is VERY sweet, but a nice and reliable combination of flavors. What kid wouldn’t loveeee this literal mountain of icing?? (Raises hand. We’re that kid!) A HEAPING pile of icing! The previous version of this treat replaced the snow with crunchy snowflake sprinkles, but we’re loving the change. Super festive! This instagrammable Christmasy creation is available for $5.19 from Big Top Souvenirs, but we have a feeling they will also be available at the Main Street Confectionary and at many resort bakery cases, so we’ll keep an eye out for more! “Life’s full of tough choices, isn’t it?” Today’s tough choice led us right to Disney’s All-Star Music! All-Star Music The sweet focus of most Disney bakery cases right now may be Frozen 2, but we’re HERE for our baddies getting some love too! Earlier this year, we found a delicious Ursula cake at the Contempo Cafe for Villaintine’s Day so we were WAY excited to try this new cupcake we spotted at All-Star Music Resort! Did it match up? The Sea Witch has resurfaced once again, this time in the form of a cupcake. The Ursula Cupcake has made her grand entrance at the Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Music. Ursula Cupcake The chocolate cupcake is topped with rich purple vanilla buttercream, and the tentacles are made of fondant (ours had 4 rather than the octopus-y standard 8!). It’s garnished with a drop of light gray buttercream representin’ Ursula’s stylish ‘do, and a yellow white chocolate shell, just like the one on Ursula’s neck! Ursula Cupcake Don’t be discouraged by the spooky exterior, this cupcake was deceivingly simple on the inside, for all you purists out there. The cupcake was perfectly moist, and we found the vanilla buttercream to bring just the right level of sweetness. Ursula Cupcake We passed on eating all of our fondant tentacles — they’re pretty, not so much tasty. But the shell was a sweet bite we enjoyed! One thought crystallizes like an icy blast — sort of like how we’ve been thinking of all the Frozen 2 treats we’ve seen in Disney World! A Still from Frozen 2 ©Disney Although we’ve already spotted treats like the Caramel Mousse and Olaf’s Fall Cheesecake, we’re ready to let (our diets) go and have another Frozen treat! The Frozen Fractals Cupcake has spiraled into the End Zone Food Court at All-Star Sports Resort! Frozen Fractals Cupcake The funfetti cupcake has blue sprinkles throughout the cake and blue buttercream with sprinkles and edible glitter on top. A white chocolate disc featuring Elsa and the Nokk finishes the design. The Pretty Frozen Fractals Cupcake Decorations While we looove funfetti cake, the only other real component of the Frozen Fractals Cupcake was the blue buttercream. The white chocolate disc and sprinkles added a crunch to all that frosting, but there was no filling in the center. Even though it was tasty and pretty, we felt like it was lacking in comparison to the other Frozen 2 treats, like the Hidden Truth Cupcake. O Christmas tree, how lovely (and tasty) are thy branches! Christmas Tree The holidays are in full seasonal swing in Disney World! We’ve already spotted the Peppermint Cheesecake and the Hot Chocolate Cupcake at the Disney resorts. And, now we’re back for even MORE merry treats! The Christmas Tree Dome Cake is hauling out the holly at the End Zone Food Court at the All-Stars Sports Resort! Christmas Tree Dome Cake The dome cake is filled with cherry mascarpone (!!!) mousse, while the waffle cone tree on top is covered with green buttercream, complete with little colored lights. Christmas Tree Dome Cake The cherry mascarpone had a delicious balance of creamy, mild cheese and sweet cherries with every bite. The cocoa butter surrounding the dome cake as a glue for the “snow” also gave it a slight chocolate flavor. And we LOVE chocolate and cherries together, so naturally, this was fabulous! Cherry Mascarpone The waffle cone added a nice crunch to the mascarpone, complete with that famous sweet Disney buttercream that we love. After eating this treat, we couldn’t help but feel more in the holiday spirit! And, while we’ve spotted the Peppermint Cheesecake at the Disney resorts already, another holiday treat is already brewing up in Disney World! The Hot Chocolate Cupcake is fulfilling all our cocoa dreams at End Zone Food Court in the All-Star Sports Resort! Hot Chocolate Cupcake The chocolate cupcake is topped with rich chocolate frosting, candy cane sprinkles, mini marshmallows, and a chocolate “straw.” Hot Chocolate Cupcake This cake was made for all you chocolate lovers out there! The chocolate cake was moist and paired wonderfully with the rich chocolate frosting. The candy cane sprinkles on top were actually peppermint flavored and added a nice crunch compared to the soft marshmallows. While we’re not exactly sure what hot cocoa flavor should be (isn’t it just creamy chocolate?!), the cupcake was still delicious!! Messy and Chocolate-y! There’s a new way to “ride like the wind, Bullseye!” around Disney World… Bus Stop We’ve seen a ton of adorable new character and movie wraps on the Disney buses that take guests around Disney World. You can spot the Sensational Six, the Lion King, and even Figment! Well, the newest in the line up of fun themed bosses is on the road and we caught a glimpse! There’s a Toy Story bus hittin’ the streets and boy, is it a super fun and playful way to get around! Toy Story Bus This new bus wrap features all of our fave toys, including Buzz Lightyear, Slinky Dog, Bullseye, Woody, and Jessie (where’s FORKY?!). Toy Story Bus They’re all on a classic Toy Story blue sky background and the bus is accented by an appropriate and playful looking lime green detailing. We’ve had the hardest time catching pics of this bus! We finally caught it while riding the Skyliner! Toy Story Bus We sure hope we can hitch a ride on the CUTEST of buses sometime soon. Blueberry and Lemon Filling Although this macaron might be a cookie, don’t be fooled! There’s no cloying sweetness here — the blueberry and lemon filling was TART. And, we LOVED it!! The flavors were refreshing and tangy compared to the other Frozen 2 treats we have tried. The macaron reminded us of the Arendelle Aqua Macaron that we saw in Disneyland with a few similar flavors, but definitely BIGGER! “Take a look in the 5 & 10, glistening once again…” Sunset Boulevard Christmas Decorations Hollywood Studios was an early bird this year when it comes to holiday celebrations. We spotted the first round of Christmas decorations going up over a week ago on Sunset Boulevard in preparation for one of the holiday shows, Sunset Seasons Greetings. Well now, with Halloween squarely past, we’ve spotted even MORE Christmas decorations in the park! We’ve seen holiday merchandise popping up in doses around Disney World recently, and now window shopping in Hollywood Studios just got a LOT more Christmas-y! Holiday Decorations Today we noticed that the windows in the stores on Hollywood Boulevard have gotten a merry update! Check out these massive Minnie ornaments that are decking out the windows in Celebrity 5 & 10 (Just like in the song!). 5 and 10 Holiday Decorations There’s also this cute sign declaring there’s “Snow Place Like Disney World.” We agree! Holiday Decorations Over at Mickey’s of Hollywood, there are a bunch of pretty new window displays to boast all the fun new holiday merchandise. Mickeys of Hollywood And stocking the windows with all that holiday cheer has sure made Hollywood Boulevard feel more…well…cheery!
