We’re just a few days away from the start of Holidays at the Disneyland Resort! It’s my favorite time of year, especially with the joyous Disney Festival of Holidays returning to Disney California Adventure park. Inspired by the vibrant cultural diversity of Southern California, this heartwarming celebration brings the holiday season to life with music and dance performances, the colorful Festival Foods Marketplace, diverse crafts and plenty of beloved Disney characters who invite you to delight in the festive spirit of the holidays. This year for Disney Festival of Holidays, there’s an all-new character celebration, “Mickey’s Happy Holidays.” Twice daily, a cheerful celebration featuring favorite Disney and Pixar characters enters the park to a mix of high-energy music, as you’re invited to dance along with Mickey Mouse and pals to the magically merry rhythms of the Holiday Toy Drummers. Look for them at the Paradise Gardens Park Obelisk and Carthay Circle, where everyone can sing and dance along! Also new this year, the Holiday Sunset Concerts on the Palisades Stage feature The Suffragettes. This exciting festival cover band rocks the holidays on select nights, with chart-topping hits from some of your favorite musical artists. On other nights, the explosive energy of Phat Cat Swinger, the West Coast’s “Little-Big Band,” will showcase their swinging selection of irresistible holiday music, presented with a fresh new twist. These great bands join other returning entertainment that honors the many cultural holidays celebrated at Disney Festival of Holidays. Blue13 Dance Company presents a spirited tribute to Diwali through traditional Indian folk dances and Bollywood. Mostly Kosher brings the spirit of Hanukkah in a concert that combines Klezmer, Jazz and Rock & Roll. A cappella performances by The Sound celebrate Christmas and Kwanzaa, and the Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas bring the joy of Navidad to the party! Disney Festival of Holidays includes all that, plus the antics of the Holiday Toy Drummers, the incredibly fun Disney ¡Viva Navidad! with The Three Caballeros and Santa’s Holiday Visit at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Disney Festival of Holidays starts November 8 and continues through January 6, 2020. What’s your favorite part of the celebration? Let us know in the comments. View the full article

Disney World is a-changin’ and that includes Hollywood Studios! Hollywood Studios Hollywood Studios has had a whole slew of improvements and alterations wrapping up around the park (probably to shift focus over to the massive Epcot overhaul) and we recently noticed that the Hollywood Studios arch at Animation Courtyard was seeing some changes of its own. But today there’s MORE news! Just a few days ago, the arch was missing its focal point Hollywood Studios logo, and had received a new layer of dark blue paint. Animation Courtyard Archway Well, now the new sign is up! The old Hollywood Studios look has been replaced with the new, super simple and clean Hollywood Studios logo. A similar feel to the new super simple Tomorrowland Sign in Magic Kingdom. Hollywood Studios Arch The new logo and colors on the arch look super timeless AND the Golden Age of Hollywood murals on either side of the archway remain untouched. Hollywood Studios Arch The new look definitely helps to put the cherry on top of the changes at Hollywood Studios. With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the upcoming Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, it’s a new age for the park! Check out what else is new in Hollywood Studios! Click here! What do you think of the new logo arch? Let us know in the comments! Related posts: What’s New at Hollywood Studios This Week: Skyliner Progress, Tatooine Traders Construction, and More Holiday Fun! In today’s Disney Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what Kuzco and Pacha from the 2000 film “The Emperor’s New Groove” would do if they could visit Magic Kingdom Park. In the film, this young emperor and resourceful villager embark on an adventure that ends up in an unlikely and unforgettable friendship. According to Ashley, their visit to Magic Kingdom Park would be a wonderful time, no matter what! “Rain or shine, it’s always a beautiful day at the Magic Kingdom Park!” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine Kuzco and Pacha wearing matching ponchos and having fun together!” View the full article

Halloween? We’ve “let it go” and moved onto the Christmas season in Disney World! Magic Kingdom Christmas Decorations Over the past few days, the Most Magical Place on Earth has seen decorations for the holidays in Magic Kingdom, like the Christmas tree on Main Street and Tomorrowland Speedway’s overlay. But TODAY, Elsa used her ice powers to light up Cinderella Castle for all guests to see! For the holidays, Elsa and Anna join Kristoff and Olaf for “A Frozen Holiday Wish” nightly throughout the season in front of Cinderella Castle. “A Frozen Holiday Wish” Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff travel to a new land, Magic Kingdom ofc, to provide a season’s greetings to all the folks visiting. Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf! After Olaf joins the group (y’know after he just casually was chilling on the balcony), the group decides that they should make everything merry and bright in the kingdom for Christmas. We’re not complaining!! Elsa Using Her Ice Powers As soon as Elsa asks for help from the audience, she starts crystallizing Cinderella Castle with her powers. Let It Go, Elsa! Can we put ice powers on our Christmas lists this year?? Elsa’s Powers Flurrying Through the Air Wrapped up like a Christmas gift to Magic Kingdom, Elsa transforms the castle into a beautiful ice palace, complete with stunning icicle lights (!!!). Cinderella Castle Ice Palace The grand finale ends in one last icy blast of incredible fireworks behind the ice palace (we have goosebumps!!). AH-MAZING Christmas Fireworks! Although we have to say goodbye to Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf at the end of “A Frozen Holiday Wish,” Cinderella Castle sparkles and glows for the rest of the night! We say let the storm rage on!! ‘Til Next Time, Frozen Friends! “A Frozen Holiday Wish” might be in its fifth year, but we’re still just as awe-struck with its beauty. And, after seeing the first show of the season, we’re definitely in the holiday spirit already! Cinderella Castle Ice Palace If you’re in Magic Kingdom this holiday season, be sure to check out the show that’ll melt any heart! “A Frozen Holiday Wish” The cold never bothered us anyway! Who’s ready for the Christmas season? I sure am! It’s that special time of year, filled with family, friends and amazing holiday entertainment throughout Walt Disney World Resort! One of my favorite experiences, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, kicks off November 8 at Magic Kingdom Park with the debut of a magical new fireworks show that can be enjoyed from across the park. The skies above Magic Kingdom Park will sparkle to life this holiday season as visions of fireworks dance in the air during “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.” Minnie Mouse is our host, inviting everyone to come together in a celebration of the magic of Christmas. The sky fills with fireworks, as we’re swept up in medleys of beloved holiday songs, from “Joy to the World” and “Deck the Halls” to “Up on the House Top” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” The music of the show evokes heartfelt moments of home and family, as well as the festive fun of the season, all building to an incredible finale. Our Disney Parks Live Entertainment team has been working hard behind the scenes to get “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” ready for its debut. Here’s a sneak peek! In addition to “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks,” this year at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party you can be among the first to experience new holiday enhancements to favorite attractions, such as Space Mountain and Mad Tea Party. There’s also an all-new holiday show at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and when you get behind the wheel at the Tomorrowland Speedway, you’ll find yourself cruising a festive freeway filled with thousands of lights and stylized décor.. All these new experiences join returning favorites like “A Frozen Holiday Wish,” “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration,” “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas,” Club Tinsel, the Disney Junior Jingle Jam and “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, not to mention sparkling décor, complimentary treats and a magical snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. It’s all part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, presented on select nights November 8 – December 22, 2019. View the full article

As Walt Disney World transforms to Christmas, we hula-danced right on over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to check out their holiday offerings. Polynesian Village Resort We found several new seasonally-inspired offerings from the pop-up bar next to Moana Mercantile. You may have seen this temporary bar that was first installed when Tambu Lounge was under construction and has since been used for Highway In The Sky Dine Around. Pop-up Bar at Polynesian Resort While this bar serves the fan-favorite, Lapu Lapu, our sights were set on one of the new seasonal beverages, the Cinnamon Apple Lemon, the Strawberry Sprite, and the Hawaiian Cosmo. These drinks are all exclusive to this location! Seasonal Cocktails at Polynesian Resort Each cocktail is priced at $12.78 after tax, while the Lapu Lapu is also available to be served in a pineapple for $19.17. Lapu Lapu What’s really cool about all of these libations is that they infuse the liquor and juice with the fresh fruit for 2-3 days and then use that “premade” mix for the drinks. The Strawberry Sprite features strawberry-infused light rum with Sprite and lime juice. The Cinnamon Apple Lemon features apples and cinnamon-infused whiskey! This beverage was proudly on display! Cinnamon Apple Lemon Cocktail We opted for what the bartender told us was the prettiest and most popular of the bunch, The Hawaiian Cosmo. A twist on the traditional cosmo, this features pineapple-infused vodka, cranberry juice, and is topped with a cinnamon stick. It’s also served on the rocks, unlike the traditional cosmo which is served as a martini straight up. Hawaiian Cosmo The pineapple that tops the cocktail was soaked for 2-3 days in booze before being served to guests. Because it’s fresh fruit and not syrup, it tastes VERY fresh without being sickly sweet. Hawaiian Cosmo And of course, you can top any beverage with a glow cube (you are at Disney World, after all!). Glow Cubes Galore! We found this to be a delicious and refreshing cocktail addition to the already bustling lineup over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Hawaiian Cosmo at Polynesian Resort Will you be heading to Polynesian Resort to sip on this new cocktail? Let us know in the comments! Halloween only was on Thursday, but Disney World has already started transforming Magic Kingdom into a Winter Wonderland! NEW Holiday Snowmice Caramel Apples We’ve seen holiday phone cases, delicious treats, Tomorrowland Speedway’s seasonal overlay, the return of the Jingle Cruise, and news of the first castle lighting happening TONIGHT! But, lights have been strung and holly has been hauled ’cause one of our favorite Christmas decorations has been put up in the park! We’ve got a sentimental feeling looking at the gorgeous Christmas tree at the top of Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom! Holiday Decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. The tree is wrapped in popcorn garlands, red and green ornaments, candles, bows, and gingerbread figures, like stockings, rocking horses, gingerbread men, and even tiny Christmas trees! The gold star glimmers at the top as a beacon to attract guests of all ages. Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree Can’t you just feel that Christmas magic looking at the tree? (We can!!) Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree And, we think it will look even more beautiful when it’s all lit up at night, starting with the castle lighting this evening! Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree The underside of the tree is piled high with gifts galore, both wrapped and unwrapped. We spotted teddy bears, drums, nutcrackers, and even a toy train named the Lilly Belle after the original in Disneyland. Toys Underneath the Christmas Tree You can read all about the Lilly Belle here! The Dapper Dans were out serenading guests along Main Street with holiday jingles, making everything merry and bright! (Um, we can’t get over their adorable holiday-themed outfits!!) Dapper Dans in Christmas Outfits The rest of Main Street, including City Hall, has been decked out in garlands, bows, and wreaths to match the tree. City Hall While we were able to spot the Mickey wreaths, storefront decorations, and more, the new hanging wreaths complete with bells, candles, and bows are new today… Hanging Wreaths …along with the finished transformation of the Magic Kingdom Train Station! (Bye, Hallowmas! ‘Til next year!) Magic Kingdom Train Station You can check out all of the decorations on Main Street here! We’re ready to rock around the Christmas tree all season long! Mickey & Minnie Holiday Plush We’ve seen some of the CUTEST merch and treats in the parks for the holiday season, like the Mickey and Minnie Claus plushes, Christmas phone cases, Santa Mickey Cupcake, and Snowmice Caramel Apples. And, we’re about to combine the holiday merch and snacks into one adorable themed item in Magic Kingdom! The “Happy Holidays” Popcorn Bucket has jingled into the Magic Kingdom Popcorn Carts! (And, it’s bringing us comfort food and joy!) “Happy Holidays” Popcorn Bucket The design features Pluto taking a nap in front of the warm fireplace (honestly, same)… “Happy Holidays” Mickey and Minnie …Goofy and Donald setting up the tree and getting Christmas presents ready (look at that face!)… “Happy Holidays” Mickey and Minnie …and Mickey and Minnie getting in a smooch underneath the mistletoe (OTP) in the new cartoon style that will be featured in Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! “Happy Holidays” Mickey and Minnie And, there’s even a little handle to carry your popcorn around the parks! Each year, runDisney hosts events in which guests from all over the world participate. Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend Medal However, at this year’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, tragedy has struck. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the unfortunate death of an unidentified runner occurred after he/ she collapsed during the Disney Fall Feast 5k. Wine & Dine Half Marathon Page The race on Friday morning was open to ages 5 and older specified by the Disney website, and was plotted for 3.1 miles around the Walt Disney World property. Although the weekend continued with a 10K on Saturday and 15,000 guests participating in the half marathon on Sunday, Disney does have protocols when tragic incidents like this happen. Wine & Dine Half Marathon Page Andrea Finger, a spokeswoman for the Walt Disney World Resort, stated that “We are deeply saddened by this heartbreaking loss, and our thoughts and sympathies remain with the runner’s family and loved ones throughout this difficult time.” Wine & Dine Medal Unfortunately, a similar situation took place in the Wine & Dine Half Marathon in 2017, when another runner collapsed and died during the event. Mary Poppins is getting her fair share of stardom right now! Mary Poppins and Bert From the release of Mary Poppins Returns last year to the announcement of the Mary Poppins attraction coming soon to Walt Disney World, our favorite nanny has been popping up everywhere! But, Mary hasn’t just been visiting Cherry Tree Lane. The latest treat in Disneyland is bringing us a spoonful of sugar! The Mary Poppins Penguin Brownie has flown into the Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland (how fitting)! Jolly Holiday Bakery The chocolate brownie has chocolate chips mixed into the batter (YUM) and vanilla buttercream, crispy pearls, and a milk chocolate Mary Poppins Penguin disc (which just so happens to match the lovely stained glass windows at Jolly Holiday) top the treat. Mary Poppins Penguin Brownie The chocolate brownie had an extra thick and rich texture (our fave) that was delicious! Although it might have been difficult to eat alone, the light frosting brought a brightness to the flavor of the treat. We actually think that it would have tasted even better with a glass of milk on the side! Rich, Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Buttercream We really liked the occasional crunch of the chocolate chips. Plus, if you want to have a treat after the treat, the milk chocolate disc added yet another finishing crunch to the Mary Poppins Penguin Brownie. We only wish that the crispy pearls had been the same, since ours were slightly chewy! Mary Poppins Penguin Dic You can step in time over to the Jolly Holiday Bakery to get the Mary Poppins Penguin Brownie for $4.99 before the Annual Passholder discount.
