If you are planning on visiting Hollywood Studios in the next month, you may want to double-check your itineraries. A fan-favorite show is set to undergo a brief refurbishment. Muppet Vision 3-D While we share a look at what will be down for refurbishment each week, we thought we’d give you guys a bit more of a heads up about another attraction. It looks like Muppet*Vision 3D is closing temporarily. On Disney’s website, the first date of the refurbishment is set for January 26th and we noticed that it will remain closed through February 8th. Muppet Vision 3D Schedule © Disney While we don’t know what this refurbishment entails, that does mean that Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang should be back when Muppet Vision reopens on February 9th, 2020 (so not a very long refurbishment). That is the date we saw a regular schedule re-appear on Disney’s website: Muppet Vision 3D Schedule © Disney But, if you’re a Muppets fan, we know this closure could be a huge disappointment if you’re traveling to Disney World soon! Muppet Vision 3D – Outside the theater This adds Muppet*Vision 3D to the ever-growing list of attractions that are experiencing brief (as well as extended) refurbishments in 2020. This may all be in preparation for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, which is set to kick off celebrations in October of 2021. If the opening or closing refurbishment date for this attraction shifts, we will be sure to let you know. See what else is closing soon at Disney World here! Are you traveling soon to Disney World and disappointed to see the growing list of refurbishments? Tell us in the comments! Related posts: Spotted! We’re inching closer and closer to a big ride opening in Disney World. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Poster ©Disney Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will make history when it opens in Hollywood Studios as the first ride to feature Mickey and Minnie. We’re patiently awaiting the opening on March 23rd, and in the meantime, we’re keeping an eagle eye out for any sign of news about the attraction. Well today, we got pretty excited because we spotted a piece of Runaway Railway merchandise at All-Star Sports Resort! As we know, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway has guests boarding a train, so what better toy to go along with the ride’s opening than one of those old-fashioned wooden train whistles. While we saw a sneak peek of this a few months back, we’re SO happy to see it in person. Look how cute this is! It’s even got Mickey as a little train engineer in his own version of the Railway train. Wooden Whistle Technically, Goofy is the engineer on the actual attraction, but who are we to judge if Mickey wants to hit the rails every once in a while! The whistle comes on a key ring and has the sleek-looking Runaway Railway logo on the side in black. We found this whistle at Sport Goofy Gifts and Sundries at All-Star Sports Resort for $12.99. Wooden Whistle And as a bonus, we spotted a sneak peek inside the loading area of the attraction on Josh D’Amaro’s Instagram! Check out the super cool Cast Member station with the Runaway Railway logo. It’s totally giving us classic cartoon vibes! ©Josh D’Amaro We also love this sweet portrait of Goofy as Employee of the Month! Look how proud he is! ©Josh D’Amaro Overall, we’re SUPER PUMPED for this ride to debut in March and we’ll be sure to keep a close eye out on any new news or information. Click here for EVERYTHING you need to know about Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Will you be picking up the new whistle toy? Are you as excited as we are for the opening of the new attraction? Greetings from the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! Craftsman Grill Sign Nearly every month Craftsman Grill releases a new hot dog, like the Wild Dog, which we’ve delighted to see has stuck around into 202o. We’re also happy to note that it can be found at Craftsman Bar, too. Now, we’re back to try the January hot dog of the month. And veggie lovers get ready, this one’s for you! The Craftsman Grill hot dogs of the month aren’t always advertised for example. This time, we didn’t see a new hot dog on the menu for the month of January, so we simply asked! So if you’re not seeing this new addition on the menu, be sure to check with your server when you go. Vegetarian hot dog This month’s hot dog is a vegetarian hot dog. It came served with lettuce on top and an aioli-type sauce. While it might not be the prettiest hot dog we’ve seen, we were pleasantly surprised by the flavor! The lettuce had a tendency to get a little soggy as time went on from the sauce, so the texture might not be for everyone. The bun it comes in is seasoned lovely with a variety of herbs and very flavorful — definitely a highlight of this dish! Vegetarian dog bun Much like the meatless Ronto-less Wrap at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, we are always intrigued by all the new plant-based options in Disneyland. Vegetarian Hot Dog It was a little smaller than what we were expecting — we ate it all in just a few bites! When you consider however that it’s served with french fries, the portion size becomes a little more realistic. If you have a big appetite, this may feel like more of a snack, but from someone who is looking for a light or quick bite, we recommend it! In the 1938 short, “Donald’s Golf Game,” Donald Duck takes his nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie out for a peaceful game of golf – which turns out to be anything but! This short was the inspiration for today’s Disney Doodle by artist Ashley Taylor. According to her, if Donald had the chance to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, he may seek out a fun place to swing some clubs. “Donald had a lot of difficulty playing golf during ‘Donald’s Golf Game,’” Ashley said. “But I think he’d enjoy his time among the beautiful landscaping and tranquil ambiance of Fantasia Garden’s Mini Golf.” View the full article

What a glorious time to be alive and visiting Disneyland! Award Wieners If you know, then you know, Award Wieners is one of our go-to spots at Disney California Adventure for the best hot dogs and for our beloved filmstrip fries. These babies are basically thick cut and oh sooo tasty steak fries! We’ve seen seasonal offerings (like the current Asada Fries) but one of our favorite incarnations of them has always been our DFB menu hack, Filmstrip Fries and Beer Cheese. Award Wieners Filmstrip Fries WELL…We’re happy to say, the people have spoken! Beer Cheese Fries have officially strutted down the red carpet and landed on the menu at Award Weiners! Award Weiners Menu They look better than ever and are positively glistening with tons of beer cheese. Beer Cheese Fries They can be the star of our show ANY day! The Holidays at Walt Disney World are truly a magical time…so we totally get that when it’s all over it can leave you a little down in the dumps. Christmas at Walt Disney World As we were drowning in our sorrows (and beef empanadas) over at Choza de Margarita in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion, we came across a stroke of genius! DFB Menu Hack alert! Say hello to this fun creation: the Candy Cane Margarita. Candy Cane Margarita No, this is not on the menu, but we asked them to layer Frozen Lime and Strawberry Margaritas to mimic the classic stripes of a candy cane! We think it looks pretty darn festive! Candy Cane Margarita The two flavors complimented each other here perfectly, and we’re happy to say we could definitely taste the tequila in this one. Wash away your holiday blues with this concoction priced at $11.25 and you’ll be back in the Holiday spirit in no time! Choza de Margarita Remember, it’s not on the menu here so you’ll have to ask a Cast Member kindly to layer it for you! Would you try the Candy Cane Margarita in Epcot’s Choza de Margarita? We here at DFB love that Disneyland is always bringing their A-game when it comes to sweet treats. We’re talking about the place that has brought us Churros covered in Peanut Butter and Marshmallows! Jolly Holiday Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is a favorite spot of ours for their Matterhorn Macaroons and ample patio space perfect for people watching. We’re heading back to this Mary Poppins-inspired cafe to say Hiya to the new Mickey Brownie. Mickey Brownie Chocolate fanatics: This one is for YOU! The brownie is more that of a fudge-like texture as opposed to the traditional cake texture BUT with the added bonus of chocolate chips mixed into the batter! We are loving this chocolate on chocolate action. Mickey Brownie This double chocolate treat is then topped with chocolate pearls, white and milk chocolate shavings, chocolate mousse, and a chocolate Mickey head. Basically, chocolate on chocolate on chocolate on chocolate, etc. You get the point… Mickey Brownie Gold flakes sit atop this totally decadent treat. With allllll the chocolate flavoring, there wasn’t much in terms of depth of flavor and it can definitely be described at rich, BUT we LOVE chocolate so we’re A-okay with that. Mickey Brownie Priced at $4.99, if you’re thinking everything is better with chocolate, then head on over to Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland and pick up this decadent dish. Epcot is gettin’ ready for its fourth annual Festival of the Arts, which starts this Friday, January 17th! Photo Ops The festival celebrates three artistic disciplines: culinary, visual, and performing arts! While we’ve already seen a preview of 2020’s merch, food, and entertainment, today we started to see some of the festival’s decorations going up! We were thrilled to see the new Gusteau’s sign installed yesterday for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and today we noticed the World Showcase had received some of the “Artful Photo Ops” where you can pose INSIDE some of your favorite pieces of art! Artful Photo Op Each artful photo op has a sign showing you how to pose! Artful Photo Op Simply assume the position, strike a pose and WHAMMO — you’re a work of fine art! Artful Photo Op You’ll find several Artful Photo Ops scattered throughout the World Showcase. There are even two new artful photo ops this year, themed after works by Vincent Van Gogh. We love this Frida Kahlo artful op we spotted by the Mexico Pavilion, which is also where we ordered the secret menu Winnie the Pooh Margarita! Artful Photo Op We’re big fans of the Expressionist painter Edvard Munch as well! You can recreate his famous work “The Scream”… Artful Photo Op …or Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, the “Mona Lisa”, by standing in front of their iconic backgrounds! Artful Photo Op It’s hard to get Mona Lisa’s half-smile just right, though, so we recommend practicing a little before you get to the festival — here’s some reference material! Parker Anderson and his family are the definition of Star Wars superfans. His love of Star Wars has helped during tough times, especially while he struggled with diabetes and a tumor-growing syndrome. His dad even recalled that when Parker was dealing with pain, they’d encourage him by telling him to “use the Force” to overcome it. Watch Parker’s unwavering optimism as he and his family join the cause at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which launches Jan. 17 at Disneyland park! The newest attraction inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, is one of the most ambitious, advanced and immersive experiences ever undertaken by Walt Disney Imagineering. You’ll climb aboard a full-size transport shuttle before being captured by a Star Destroyer and find yourself in the middle of a climactic battle between the dark side of the First Order and the light side of the Resistance. The harrowing adventure blurs the lines between fantasy and reality on a scale never seen before in a Disney attraction. Share how you’re #ResistanceReady on Twitter and Instagram! We love Winnie the Pooh almost as much as we love Baby Yoda, honey! Winnie the Pooh at The Crystal Palace Which is why even though we’re still reeling from the secret menu Baby Yoda cocktail, we just HAD to usher ourselves over to this spot in Epcot where they’re serving up a SECRET MENU Winnie the Pooh Margarita! We’re heading over to Choza de Margarita in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion to search for the Winnie the Pooh Margarita! We already know what you’re thinking — Pooh Bear is British sooooo what the heck is he doing over in Mexico? We’re a long way from the Hundred Acre Woods all the way over here — but that’s where you’ll find him! Winnie the Pooh Margarita The Winnie the Pooh Maragita consists of mango and strawberry frozen margarita flavors layered together. The colors almost match Pooh Bear perfectly! Winnie the Pooh Margarita Plus, the drink tastes REALLY good! We definitely tasted the tequila, but the fruity flavors paired very well with each other. Winnie the Pooh Margarita The Winnie the Pooh Margarita costs $11.25, but don’t expect to see it on the regular menu since it’s a SECRET! Don’t worry, though –the Cast Member who helped us totally knew what we were talking about when we asked for it, so you should be able to get one, fingers crossed! The Cast Member also told us about this secret menu variant — the Candy Cane Margarita! Candy Cane Margarita “Candy Cane” is just how the Cast Members refer to it since its red and white stripes resemble a candy cane, but it’s NOT peppermint-flavored! It tastes like a strawberry and lime-flavored frozen marg, even though it does LOOK really Christmas-y. Candy Cane Margarita The Candy Cane Margarita also costs $11.25, and is also on the secret menu, so just ask the Cast Member to make one for you! Choza de Margarita has plenty of tasty drinks on their regular menu too! Check ’em out HERE! Will you be ordering a Winnie the Pooh Margarita on your next trip to Disney World? The holidays might be over in Disney World, but the snow’s finally arrived! Dawa Bar We’re talking about the icy-cold new drink that the Dawa Bar in Animal Kingdom is now serving up — the SnowTini! Dawa Bar is usually on our Disney World agenda, especially when they have a new drink on the menu to try. Today, we’re sampling the SnowTini! It gets its name from the Snow Leopard Vodka it features. It’s mixed with blue curaçao, peach schnapps, pineapple juice, and topped with shredded coconut! YUM! SnowTini The SnowTini is a stunning beauty! The glow cube that comes with it really enhances its rich, blue hue, courtesy of all that blue curaçao! SnowTini Needless to say, if you’re not a huge fan of blue curaçao, this might not be the drink you’re looking for. The sweet flavor of the curaçao is the predominant flavor, followed by the peach from the schnapps. Otherwise, it’s a really fun, yummy drink. We especially liked the shreds of coconut on top, but we would say pass on them if you’re not a fan of their texture! SnowTini The SnowTini costs $17 and isn’t on the regular menu, so we don’t know how long it will be sticking around! Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter for all of our latest food and drink finds at Disney World! Are you excited to try the new SnowTini drink? Is it just our imagination, or did we just spot the CUTEST new treat at Disney California Adventure?! Bing Bong Sweet Stuff That’s right — he’s part cat, part dolphin, and part cotton candy…it’s the lovable Bing Bong Krispy Treat! We found the Bing Bong Krispy Treat at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff Confectionery today! This handsome krispy-treat-on-a-stick is sportin’ Bing Bong’s signature chocolate bowler hat, polka dot bowtie, flower lapel, and plaid blazer — just like Riley’s imaginary friend from Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out! It’s Bing Bong — in Krispy Treat form! Okay, so his formless body does slightly resemble a hot dog bun if you blur your eyes a little, but that only makes him more entertaining! Besides, the Bing Bong Krispy Treat really reminds us of one of our other favorite treats, the Bing Bong Caramel Apple. Bing Bong Krispy Treat Biting into the Bing Bong Krispy Treat, we really enjoyed the sweetness that came from the white and milk chocolates mixed with the marshmallow from the krispy treat! Unlike the Mickey Donut Krispy Treat we spotted earlier at Disney California Adventure, this one isn’t filled with peanut butter, but it’s still delicious! Bing Bong Krispy Treat You can pick up the Bing Bong Krispy Treat from Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff Confectionery in Disney California Adventure for $5.99! It’s no surprise that when we’re hanging over in Disneyland, chances are you’ll find us munching on some of the deliciously golden fried chicken over at the Plaza Inn! Disneyland’s Plaza Inn Located on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, Plaza Inn offers up their own take on American classics and seasonal goodies (mmm, remember the delight that was the Get Your Ears On Celebration Cake??!?). Well, today we’re headed back to check on a new sweet addition. National Polka Dots Day is coming up, and what better way to celebrate than with this NEW and adorable Red Velvet Minnie Mouse Bundt Cake! Red Velvet Minnie Cake Easily sharable amongst two, this is a traditional red velvet cake with raspberry filling, topped with a vanilla glaze, red and black sprinkles, pink frosting, chocolate mouse ears, and Minnie’s signature bow! Red Velvet Minnie Mouse Bundt Cake The red velvet cake is just as you’d expect it — moist, rich, and with just the right amount of sweetness. Inside, we loved the taste of the raspberry filling, a nice touch to shake up the traditional flavor! Red Velvet Minnie Mouse Bundt Cake While cake tends to be a pretty heavy dessert, we found this to be delightfully light, even before our ride on Space Mountain! Red Velvet Minnie Mouse Bundt Cake This goodie is priced at $5.99, and is available from the Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland. Get her while you can, because we’re not sure just how long this beauty will last! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! The runDisney 2020 season got off to a running start with the most magical race weekend on Earth – the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna. Participants showed up in style as we celebrated some of the most beloved Disney characters for each of the weekend’s events. Take a look at some of our favorite moments from the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend: Runners had a ‘paws’itively great time during the Walt Disney World 5K, which celebrated the return of everyone’s favorite pal Pluto! Participants bounded their way through the exciting course for 3.1 miles of dog gone fun. Participants hopped their way along the thrilling 6.2-mile run during the Walt Disney World 10K celebrating Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Runners were ‘eggcently’ dressed as they celebrated their ‘hoppy’ ending to the weekend’s second event. Runners really ‘fit the bill’ for the weekend’s third event, the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, celebrating our favorite feathered friend Donald Duck. Runners flew through the course to complete the 13.1 miles to the finish line. Finishing out the most magical race weekend on Earth, participants ran 26.2 miles through all four theme parks during the Walt Disney World Marathon. Nick Hilton celebrated his second event win, capturing first place in the Male Division with a time of 2:22:19. Celebrating her fourth straight event win and fifth in the past six years, Giovanna Martins captured first place for the Female Division, posting a time of 2:54:19. A special congratulations to those runners who ran the extra mile to complete the 15th anniversary of Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge or the Dopey Challenge, running either 39.3 or 48.6 miles over the weekend! Thank you to all of our runners, participants, spectators and volunteers who joined us during this most magical race weekend! Be sure to share your race photos using #WDWMarathon and #runDisney. When Disney+ launched back in November, we were glued to it like nobody’s business! Disney+ Streaming Service ©Disney And it seems we weren’t alone! Despite its initially bumpy start, people couldn’t be deterred from wanting to binge-watch original content like The Mandalorian, as well as unlimited streaming access to hundreds of movies and TV shows for just a couple bucks a month! Sensor Tower recently shared the news that Disney+ was the most downloaded app for 2019’s fourth quarter! The app was downloaded more than 31 million times, almost twice as much as the next most-downloaded app, TikTok. For a bit of perspective on that, the number of Disney+ US app downloads was more than twelve times the amount of downloads that HBO NOW had when Games of Thrones premiered its finally season in April 2019. WOW! ©Sensor Tower So, are other live-streaming platforms being affected by Disney+’s success? According to this chart compiled by Sensor Tower, it appears so. Netflix seems to be taking the biggest loss, but competitors across the board seem to be losing download market share. ©Sensor Tower We’ll keep an eye on this story and see how Disney+ continues performing! Stay tuned for further updates! Check out ALL the content coming to Disney+ through January 26th here! Have you already subscribed to Disney+? Did you cancel some of your other streaming services?
