According to TheWrap, Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom might be better than we’ve ever thought. Villains Land ©Disney There’s been a lot of speculation lately about the project being scrapped or even the budget being unlimited, but many sources are saying that Disney is looking to change some elements of the proposed Villains Land. We’re not exactly sure what’s happening yet, but some of the proposed ideas make us want to run to the parks and start helping with construction because it’s going to be spectacular. Before we get into the details, TheWrap’s article notes that these details are “according to sources familiar with the project.” There haven’t been any official announcements from Disney, but we’re expecting a big update at the D23 convention in August (and hopefully some news before then). Architecture inspiration for Villains Land announced at D23 in 2025 In original concept art, Villains Land had a large roller coaster, and according to a former Imagineer, it was supposed to be Maleficent-themed and incorporate elements of Sleeping Beauty. It was supposed to be a high-thrill coaster, but now it is being converted into a more family-friendly ride like Slinky Dog Dash, themed to The Emperor’s New Groove. While Maleficent won’t be getting her own coaster, she is expected to still have a major presence in the land. ©Disney A Hades-themed dinner show could also be involved, similar to the Diamond Horsehoe Revue. Pain and Panic will be in on the fun with other villains making appearances. It’s expected to be a full-service, sit-down restaurant with a prefix menu. Disney has casually mentioned working ona Hades animatronic, so this could be where it’s going! ©Disney The article also mentions that a Maleficent indoor water ride could be coming, similar to Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure at Shanghai Disneyland. They intend to make this a Lightning Lane Single Pass attraction, which means it could cost between $11 and $35 per person to skip the line. Battle for the Sunken Treasure Character interactions are also expected in the land, and there could be roaming characters with their own routines hanging around the land. Of course, there will also be shopping and food kiosks. Maleficient at the Oogie Boogie Bash Multiple sources have also said there will be a third attraction yet to be announced. It won’t be the same level as the Maleficent boat ride, but plans filed with the South Florida Water Management District have shown area for a “carnival-style ‘flat ride.'” It could be a spinner ride like Dumbo the Flying Elephant, but similar to Ursula, similar to early plans for the retheme of Disney California Adventure. It later became Inside Out: Emotional Whirlwind, another spinner ride. Emotional Whirlwind One source also says that updated plans for Villains Land are due in a couple of weeks, and then the new CEO, Josh D’Amaro, will present the proposal to the board to decide whether to move forward. We’ve been keeping an eye out for any details, and this specific attraction news could be good for Villains Land in the future. Again, these are quote sources, but no official news has come out of Disney yet. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more updated information on new lands coming to Disney World. The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival starts on March 4th, and we’re officially less than a week out from it. That means it’s time to dive into all the details that make an EPCOT festival truly special. ©Disney One way they do that is with special merchandise! There are always souvenirs to celebrate the festival, and Disney just dropped a new look at a bunch of merchandise coming, and we’re just buzzing about it. Look at this special Annual Passholder collection! It looks like they’re showing us a sneak peek of the t-shirt, hat, and bag. Mickey and Minnie are in their gardening outfits working in front of Spaceship Earth, and the green bag looks like the perfect size to throw your essentials in while heading to the park. ©Disney There will also be a limited-release pin, a Spike the Bee pin, a mug, and a magnet! We know how Annual Passholders love their magnets, so you’ll probably want to add this one to your collection. You can find it at the Creations Shop or a Festival Market, and you’ll need to show your Annual Pass to be able ot purchase them. Don’t forget about your discount, too! ©Disney Disney also gave us a sneak peek at other items that will be available for everyone. We saw this super cute Orange Bird hat… ©Disney …this Orange Bird Loungefly bag that also features Spike the Bee and DOLE Whip… ©Disney …and the crossbody Loungefly bag with Spike the Bee! With this style of bag, the front pouch usually comes off for more options, and we love the wings sticking off the bag. ©Disney Look at the ears, too! I love that Spike the Bee is getting so much love this year. The bow looks like such a neat texture, too. It comes off in case you don’t want to wear the bow, which is so nice for options. ©Disney Of course, there’s a spirit jersey. Here’s a look at the front… ©Disney …and the back! ©Disney This is the same design that’s on the Loungefly, but on the t-shirt. Orange Bird is jumping out of a crate of oranges. Do we think it’s weird that he’s around other oranges? Is he the only Orange Bird? ©Disney They also showed us this men’s button-down shirt, which has our team feeling…something. It looks like the Orange Bird when he was a walk-around character (yes, he was at one point, and yes, it’s been a very long time since that). Orange Bird does look very happy to be here, though. ©Disney The festival starts in only a few days, and we’ll be there on opening day to bring all the details back to you so you can have the best day at Flower and Garden ever. SeaWorld parent company reports drops in attendance, revenue
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney News
United Parks & Resorts, the parent company of SeaWorld Orlando, reported declines in attendance, revenue and net income for its most recent fiscal year, which ended in December. “Our fiscal 2025 results did not meet our expectations,” CEO Marc Swanson said on Thursday. “While the consumer environment was uneven and our results were impacted by negative international tourism trends and volatile weather during certain peak visitation periods, we should have delivered better results, particularly on the cost side of the income statement.” Attendance was down 1.8%, about 21.2 million visitors, for the company. The report does not break out attendance figures for its 13 individual parks, a lineup that also includes Aquatica water park, Discovery Cove day resort and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay theme park. Total revenue for the year was $1.7 billion, a drop of 3.6% from fiscal 2024, and net income was $168.4 million, a decrease of 26%. A brighter spot was an increase of in-park per-capita spending by 1%, including a 2.1% increase in the fourth quarter, which set a company record, the report said. “Guests continue to respond positively to our offerings and spend when they visit our parks,” Swanson said. The company has taken measures to improve its results, he said. “We have moved decisively to address our less-than-optimal cost management and have updated and focused our plans and investments for 2026, designed to drive attendance and guest spending across our parks,” Swanson said. That includes new rides and attractions, expanded concert lineups and enhanced marketing plans, he stated. In 2026, SeaWorld Orlando plans to open SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep, an undersea dark ride, while Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will introduce Lion & Hyena Ridge, an animal habitat featuring five young lions and a pair of hyenas. Some SeaWorld Orlando enhancements for this year have not been announced yet, Swanson said, and Discovery Cove bookings are up for the year. “I really think the lifeblood of giving people a reason to visit is having new attractions and events and shows,” Swanson said during a conference call with market analysts. He also repeated that the opening of Epic Universe theme park last year is a positive development for the Central Florida market. “We’re investing in a market that continues to attract high-quality investments from other people as well,” he said. “We think that benefits everyone, and we’ll continue to do our part to drive people to our parks while they’re here.” dbevil@orlandosentinel.com View the full article -

It’s IMPOSSIBLE to ignore all the work being done in Magic Kingdom, but the good news is that all this construction means real, tangible progress! Cinderella Castle Painting While the repainting of Cinderella Castle is currently garnering most of the guests’ attention, the world’s most popular theme park is PACKED with projects meant to improve the park. From land expansions to massive ride enhancements, it’s downright wild how much is happening in “The Most Magical Place on Earth” these days, and the evolution has been incredible to see. Let’s dive into everything we’ve seen so far during this early stretch of 2026 and what we can expect to see in the coming months! First up is the happenings of Frontierland, which is currently the epicenter of change. We’ve known for a while that the area once occupied by the Rivers of America is being transformed into Piston Peak — a Cars-themed expansion with its own rides, restaurants, and shops that work within the existing themes of Frontierland. Right now, the construction walls are up, the river is drained, and this area styled after national parks is officially underway. ©Bioreconstruct on Instagram Just in the past few weeks, Disney filed three new permits for small Frontierland locations — Big Al’s merchandise cart, Westward Ho beverage kiosk, and the churro cart — that could tie directly into that construction footprint. Rumors have persisted that Big Al’s and Westward Ho are closing, but there’s nothing official on that front. It’s possible these locations will be getting a refresh or even apermanent removal, and how the land continues to evolve over the coming months will be fascinating. ©Bioreconstruct on Instagram What we do know, however, is that the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District just approved $6.7 million in electrical expansion funding for the areas that will serve both the Cars expansion and the upcoming Villains Land. This permit includes underground electrical cables, transformers, and utility work needed to power lots of the new additions to the park. ©Bioreconstruct on Instagram It appears as though the new Villains Land is making significant progress! New construction photos show this massive new land taking shape, with crews clearing land in preparation for future development. This area stretches beyond Big Thunder Mountain and will be home to at least two major attractions, as well as new dining and shopping experiences dedicated to Disney villains we love to hate. ©Disney Thanks to Bioreconstruct, we can finally see some construction updates on the upcoming land and Piston Peak. Per the pictures, work is currently being done behind “it’s a small world” and the Haunted Mansion. ©bioreconstruct While they’re not technically new attractions, some Magic Kingdom rides are getting a little more than the classic refurb. Iconic rides like the Carousel of Progress are introducing new elements. Recently, Disney filed a permit to specifically install fire alarm and protection systems — which, admittedly, isn’t flashy. What is flashy is the new audio-animatronic figure of Walt Disney coming to the ride that will be featured in a new opening scene! ©Disney Back in Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain is almost ready to end its year-plus-long closure! Set to reopen this spring, the ride will include some enhanced features — such as a new track, new lighting and water effects, and scenes like sparkling Rainbow Caverns. ©Disney Closed since August 2025, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is also getting a bunch of new features — such as new ride vehicles, enhanced controls, a new training robot, and updated lighting and sound technology. ©Disney A new permit was filed by Disney World for “general construction” that is set to expire April 2nd, 2027 — far beyond the anticipated Spring 2026 reopening timeline. This new permit — which lists Jon Richards Company, LLC (a company that specializes in show sets, scenery, props, themed lighting, and more) — doesn’t mean progress isn’t on schedule, but it does make us wonder… ©Disney Which Magic Kingdom project are you most excited to see come to fruition? Are there any you’re worried about? Let us know in the comments! Dream a fantastic dream! ©Disney If you hear that and instantly think of one of the best shows at Disney World, then you probably want to hear about this update before you head to the amphitheater with a bucket of popcorn. In Hollywood Studios, Fantasmic! is moving from 8:30 PM to 9 PM starting on April 24th. We usually see these changes as the sun sets later, so Disney can push back the nighttime shows so they’re actually at night (because Happily Ever After just isn’t the same during the day!). ©Disney We know that after a long day riding rides, eating snacks, and worrying about your next Lightning Lane, it might be tempting to skip the nighttime show in the parks, but let us convince you to stay for Fantasmic. Unlike Happily Ever After in front of the Castle in Magic Kingdom, and Illuminations: The Symphony of Us around the World Showcase of EPCOT, Fantasmic is in an amphitheater with SEATS! Yep, no standing around to claim your spot and fighting off people for that perfect view in front of the castle. The ampitheater You’ll want to line up early to make sure you get a spot in the theater, since with one show a night, it can get busy. Once you’re lined up, Cast Members will organize the crowds for seating. If you’re earlier, it’s likely you’ll be closer to the stage, but it’s so nice to just wait in line and not have to strategically choose your spot and wait for hours. There’s also accessible seating in the front and back of the theater for more options (just note that you’ll need to get up a massive hill in the theater first!). Fantasmic! There’s a ton of construction happening around Hollywood Studios right now, but one we can’t stop talking about is Walt Disney Studios, which will be home to the Magic of Disney Animation. There, you’ll be able to take drawing classes and learn to draw different characters — maybe you’ll draw Mickey Mouse himself! ©Disney Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the important updates you need before heading to the parks for your Disney World vacation. We can’t tell you how many times we’ve been in Magic Kingdom only to find that we’re missing some essentials, or we see that guests around us are deeply regretting not having one thing or another with them. Magic Kingdom We’re in Disney World every day, not to mention the members of our team who don’t live locally, write about the parks each day, but yes, we still make mistakes when it comes to packing! I reached out to members of the team and asked them to tell me some things that they make sure they ALWAYS bring to Magic Kingdom, and added in some of my own as well, so without further ado, here’s the ULTIMATE list of what you should pack in your bag to be prepared for the day! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Hand Sanitizer Touchland and Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case Let’s be real here — Disney World is FULL of germs…like, FULL of germs. Personally, I don’t head to the parks without hand sanitizer of SOME kind, and one of our favorites is the Touchland & Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case! It’s cute and themed to Disney, yes, but even better than that, it clips to your bag super easily. We’re all for convenience over here! Check it out here! A Way To Keep Cool JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan Summer is fast approaching, and that means so is the summer heat. We highly recommend snagging yourself the JISULIFE 3 IN 1 Handheld Mini Fan for numerous reasons. Not only is it small and compact, making it easy to put into a pocket or a bag, but it also works as a flashlight AND a portable charger! Talk about saving your butt when you either cannot see in the dark, or your phone is dying, and you need that photo of your kiddo with Mickey. Check it out here! A Reliable Water Bottle Owala Rapunzel Water Bottle We’ve talked many times before about how much we love our Owala water bottles, and we’ll never stop shouting about them, because hey, they’re durable, they keep your drinks cold even on the hottest days, and they’re slim enough to easily fit in most bags. However, we do have a caveat here, specifically for Magic Kingdom — the water in this park is GROSS, even getting it from quick service restaurants. It’s safe, but there’s just this swampy taste that’s worse than other parks, so while we usually advise against spending money on bottled water, if you’re extra sensitive to the taste, some members of our team recommend buying bottled water and then just pouring it into your Owala. Check it out here! Sunscreen ©Amazon Staying protected against the sun is another GREAT way to keep yourself comfortable on your trip — there’s nothing worse than getting sunburnt on day two and being in pain for the rest of your trip. Personally, we love the Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick, because sticks are often way easier to apply, especially if you’ve got littles you’re traveling with (or if you’re uncoordinated, like me). Check it out here! Avoid The Downpours Frogg Toggs Poncho Hey, so it rains A LOT in Disney World, especially during the summer months and hurricane season, so you need something to protect yourself from those, without having to hide underneath something for an hour. That’s where the FROGG TOGGS Poncho comes in! Personally, I bring this with me on EVERY trip, and it has yet to let me down. It’s durable, water literally runs right off of it, and it’s fairly easy to put back in its carrying case so it doesn’t get water on anything else. Check it out here! A Portable Charger FuelRod You’ve heard us say how important portable chargers are approximately 47,000 times, but that’s because it’s TRUE! Getting caught in Magic Kingdom, arguably the most iconic Disney World park, with a dead phone, feels like the end of the world sometimes. Avoid the struggle completely with a FuelRod, because not only is it a pretty solid portable charger, but there are FuelRod stations all over the parks that you can swap dead ones out with fully charged ones at NO additional cost. That peace of mind is invaluable! Check it out here! The Right Shoes HOKA Clifton 10 Nothing is worse than being on day one or two of your trip and your feet hurting SO bad you can barely enjoy walking around the parks. That’s why it’s so important to get the right shoes for your trip, and one of our favorites is the Hoka Clifton 10 Shoes. HOKA shoes, in general, are very popular for Disney World trips due to how comfortable and durable they are. We know many Cast Members who say these are the only shoes they wear for their shifts due to how well they hold up. Check it out here! We’ll continue to bring you all our best tips and tricks to help you plan for your upcoming vacations, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry is a wildly popular attraction at Epic Universe. The ride takes you through the Ministry of Magic with magical, omnidirectional lifts that can propel you forwards, backwards, up, down, or sideways. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry The ride is an engineering feat and received critical acclaim – but the guest experience tells a different story. It often breaks down, and guests have reported being stuck for hours or even being injured during these malfunctions. According to the Orlando Sentinel, twin brothers Derrick Burrough of Tennessee and Erick Burrough of Georgia are suing Universal Orlando Resort for injuries from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. They were riding the ride on Christmas Day last year when the ride suddenly stopped, and they were “thrusted erratically” in their seats, sustaining “significant” injuries to their necks and backs, according to the lawsuits. ©Universal They suffered “disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish and inconvenience; expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment; and past lost wages, loss of earning power and diminished earning capacity,” according to their Morgan & Morgan lawsuits. ©Universal “The most important job of a theme park is to keep its guests safe. Instead, Universal allegedly operated a ride that had been plagued by repeated malfunctions, glitches, and hard stops since it opened,” attorney John Morgan said in the release. “Our clients continue to seek treatment for their injuries, which are impacting their everyday lives. They have filed these lawsuits to hold Universal accountable for a safety incident we allege was entirely preventable.” Battle at the Ministry The Morgan & Morgan press release alleged that Universal knowingly let the brother ride a malfunctioning ride. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry has had several shutdowns since opening last spring, causing other injury suits. Métro-Floo These lawsuits against Epic Universe rides have guests seriously questioning the safety of these attractions. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more theme park news. An animatronic version of Olaf, the carefree snowman from “Frozen,” will front a new drawing experience at the animation area inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning this summer. The theme park’s reimagined and renamed land will be known as the Walt Disney Studios, and that will include the Magic of Disney Animation building housing an Animation Academy experience called “Olaf Draws.” The space will have animator desk-inspired workstations, and the Olaf figure will also be seated at one on stage, just as he was in the “Once Upon a Studio” short film released in 2023. As it turns out, Olaf can’t draw, so prerecorded instructions from Disney animators will be presented to park guests in the experience. “Olaf is learning with us,” Danny Handke, senior creative director with Walt Disney Imagineering, said in a Disney video posted on YouTube and on the official Disney Parks Blog. Among the characters that will be sketched in the lineup of classes are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Genie, Moana, Stitch, Ursula, Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and Olaf. The sessions are instructed by directors and animators from a range of Disney productions, from “Aladdin” to “Zootopia 2.” “If you have an artistic bone in your body and you’re enthusiastic about being a Disney animator, you’re going to learn a little bit here as well and have fun, too,” said Dan Abraham, a story artist and animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios. “My hope is that that magic becomes even more elevated in terms of the type of experience you get by sitting this close to this incredible piece of technology that feels real, that looks real, that, hopefully, sounds authentic,” said Josh Gad, the actor who originally gave voice to Olaf in the films. He contributed new lines for the upcoming Hollywood Studios attraction. “The guy who drew Olaf teaching Olaf how to draw Olaf? Wow, we are way beyond the looking glass here, people,” Gad — as Olaf — said in the video, which shows him in a recording session. Disney World visitors previously had access to drawing classes at the Animation Experience at Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They were led by in-person instructors, but that area is now closed in preparation for a Bluey attraction also set to debut this summer. There have also been drawing classes held during the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, which concluded this week. Other elements planned for the refreshed Walt Disney Studios section include the Drawn to Wonderland playground, character meet-and-greets, an “enchanted art” gallery and showings of “Once Upon a Studio,” which was co-directed by Abraham. “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure,” a stage show that debuted in May, continues, and a new Disney Jr. show is planned for the space across the courtyard. It could cost you beaucoup bucks to dine in Disney World on vacation! Full spread from our meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table Depending on whether you’re having quick service meals or sit-down service, using the Dining Plan or paying out of pocket, doing full meals or snacking around the parks, that budget could change. But today, we’re looking at what it REALLY costs to dine at some of Disney World’s most popular restaurants — let’s price it out! For this pricing example, we’ll look at a 5-day vacation for a party of two adults. They’ll have a quick service breakfast, lunch at a moderately-priced table service spot, and then a “fancy” dinner. I’ve chosen some of the most popular meals in each of the parks and Disney Springs. Magic Kingdom Starting their day at Magic Kingdom, our couple is going to grab breakfast at Gaston’s Tavern. Jane will order the Warm Cinnamon Roll for $7.99 along with a Joffrey’s Cold Brew for $5.99. John will get the Creme Brulee Croissant for $6.49 with a LeFou’s Brew to drink for $6.99. That brings their breakfast total to $27.56 before tax. Gaston’s Tavern — Warm Cinnamon Roll For lunch, I’ll send John and Jane to Plaza Restaurant, where they’ll have some delicious American fare. They’ll share an appetizer of the Plaza Loaded Fries for $16, then order the Pot Roast Stack for $26 and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for $25. For beverages, they’ll drink ice water, but then share The Plaza Restaurant Sundae for dessert. That one is $8.25. The total for this meal pre-tax would be $75.25. Plaza Restaurant Last but not least, we’ve got dinner at Magic Kingdom’s most popular spot, Cinderella’s Royal Table. This is a pre-paid, prix fixe character meal inside Cinderella Castle, so it’s pricey at $89 per adult, plus tax and gratuity. That means their total pre-tax is going to be $178. They’ll get an appetizer, entree, and dessert included with their meal. Merida at Cinderella’s Royal Table Adding up those three meals, the total budget for the day in Magic Kingdom would be $280.81, not including tax or tip at the sit-down spots. EPCOT On day 2, John and Jane are going to EPCOT to eat around the world! They’re starting the day with a ride on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and breakfast at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. John will have the Croissant Jambon Fromage for $6.95, along with an orange juice for $6.95. Jane will order the Quiche Lorraine for $7.25 with a $5.65 Cappucino to drink. This makes their total $26.80 before tax. Ordering counter at Les Halles For lunch, of course, we’re taking them to Via Napoli to snag some authentic Italian pizza. They’ll share a Large Carciofi Pizza for $42, and get the delicious Arancini as a starter for $16. For dessert, they’ll order the Cannolo Siciliano for $12. That brings the pre-tax, pre-tip total to $70. Yummy yum yum What’s for dinner? We’ll be heading to World Discovery to dine in SPACE. Space 220 is another prix fixe meal option, with a dinner price of $79 per adult. The meal includes an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert for each person, as well as a basic non-alcoholic beverage. That means their pre-tax, pre-tip total is $158. Not a bad view Adding all those meals together, the total for the day (without tax and tip) is $254.80. Hollywood Studios At Hollywood Studios, one of our favorite breakfast spots is Woody’s Lunch Box. John will grab the Breakfast Bowl for $8.99 with a fountain beverage for $4.79 (can you tell he’s not a coffee drinker?). Jane is snagging the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart for $5.29 and a Large Joffrey’s Coffee for $5.19 (it is day 3 after all, they’re gonna need some caffeine). That makes the pre-tax total $24.26. Breakfast Bowl For lunch, they’re going to dine in a car at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. They split the Mini Corn Dogs as an appetizer for $13, then John orders the $27 Drive-In BBQ Burger, and Jane grabs the Fried Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich for $22. For dessert, it’s the $10 Caramel Brownie Cheesecake. That brings the pre-tax, pre-tip total of lunch to $72. Full Spread at Sci-Fi Dine- In For dinner, we’re heading BACK to Toy Story Land to do Roundup Rodeo BBQ, a family-style dining offering. Here, the whole table gets a spread with bread, veggies, barbecue, delicious sides, and desserts. This is one of the cheaper dinner meals on our list at $49 per person. That means the pre-tax, pre-tip price is $98 total. Roundup Rodeo BBQ Adding all those together, the Hollywood Studios day is the cheapest so far, with a total of $194.96. Animal Kingdom For their last park day, they’ll start Animal Kingdom with breakfast at Satu’li Canteen. John gets the Cinnamon French Toast for $12.99 and a Pandoran Sunrise for $6.29. Jane gets her signature coffee with a Joffrey’s Cold Brew with Sweet Cream for $5.99 and the Slow-roasted Pork Shoulder Potato Hash for $13.29. That brings the pre-tax total to $38.56, making this the most expensive breakfast. Full breakfast spread at Satu’li Canteen For lunch, we’re sending them to our beloved Nomad Lounge, where they’ll order some small plates. They start with the Tiffins Bread Service for $20, then share the Tuna Poke Bowl for $16 and get an order of Churros for $11. Nomad Lounge is known for its incredible mocktails, so they chose one for $7.75 each. This brings their pre-tip, pre-tax total for lunch to $62.50. Nomad Lounge Churros It’s time for a character meal with Mickey and friends at Tusker House to wrap up the park days! Here, the meal is a buffet that also includes basic beverages. The cost is $64 per adult, bringing the subtotal to $128. Hey, Mickey! When all is said and done, their pre-tax, pre-tip budget for food at Animal Kingdom is $229.06. Disney Springs Last but not least, they’re spending a day in Disney Springs. For breakfast here, we’re going to recommend Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew. John is ordering a donut from “The Funky Bunch” selection for $6.50, along with a Peach Raspberry Refresher for $6.50. Jane gets a classic donut for $4.95 but levels up her coffee game by ordering the Reese’s Nitro for $6.95. That makes their breakfast total $24.90. So many donuts! Lunch is at one of our favorite spots — Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. They start with an order of Fried Pickles for $16, then get Art’s Famous Fried Chicken for $32, and the Country Fried Steak for $34. They end the meal with a classic slice of Hummingbird Cake for $14. That makes the subtotal for lunch $96. Art’s Famous Fried Chicken Then, they’ll be wrapping up their vacation with a delicious seafood dinner at The Boathouse. Going all-out here means starting with Oysters Rockefeller for $27.50, then getting the New York Strip for $68, and the Shrimp & Andouille Mac & Cheese for $28. They have the Caramel Apple Bread Pudding for dessert for $11. That makes the subtotal for this meal $134.50. The BOATHOUSE indoor seating Adding those numbers up gives us a Disney Springs total of $255.40. The Final Tally Ultimately, this means that their 5-day food budget with this kind of diet would be $1215.03. Admittedly, this would be a lot of food for two people (you’d be absolutely stuffed eating Disney World’s large sit-down portions twice a day, plus breakfast). You could easily pare these meals down by cutting out apps or desserts, or by swapping a sit-down meal for a quick service spot or snacks. Roundup Rodeo Dining can take up a serious chunk of your Disney World budget, so you need to be smart about how you spend your dollars when you eat! A little Disney magic made its way to AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, where Rapunzel surprised patients with a special princess party that brought joy and imagination into the hospital. The visit was coordinated by Disney in collaboration with AdventHealth for Children and Starlight Children’s Foundation, part of a longstanding effort to create meaningful moments for kids and families facing some of life’s toughest challenges. A Fairytale Celebration Filled with Courage and Creativity From the moment patients arrived, the celebration felt fit for royalty. Through Starlight Children’s Foundation, children received Disney Princess-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns inspired by beloved heroines who remind kids that bravery and strength come in many forms. Rapunzel greeted each young guest with warm hugs, plush toys, and plenty of imagination. Together, they decorated lanterns, colored their own masterpieces, and shared stories from Rapunzel’s adventures with Pascal, Maximus, and Flynn, turning hospital hallways into a tower filled with creativity, laughter, and possibility. “I love to see the joy and hearing her laugh,” said one patient’s dad, Edward. “This really gives her a chance to be a kid. It’s all part of the process of healing.” For many families, these moments offer a welcome reminder that joy and hope can shine through, even on the hardest days. A Full Circle Moment for One Starlight Family Among the patients attending the celebration was four-year-old Azalea Marbury, who receives frequent care at AdventHealth for Children as she undergoes treatment for Bcell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Azalea and her family are part of the Starlight Families community, a program that supports children and their families beyond the hospital setting, making the day especially meaningful. Adding to the magic, Azalea’s parents will be running for Team Starlight during the upcoming Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, where Starlight Children’s Foundation is the celebrated charity for the race. The princess party became a full circle moment, connecting the joy brought directly to patients with a larger community coming together to support children like Azalea. “Azalea loves dressing up like a princess, so with the Starlight hospital gowns she gets to express herself and feel a little more at home,” said Azalea’s parents. “Events like today just brighten her day. She gets to dress up, have fun, and meet Rapunzel. She gets to be a normal kid again.” Bringing Comfort Through a Powerful Community Partnership Moments like Rapunzel’s visit are made possible by a shared belief that every child deserves joy, especially during difficult times. For 25 years, Disney has worked alongside Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring comfort and imagination into hospitals through Disney-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns, Toy Deliveries, and special character experiences that help kids feel brave, seen, and supported. “We’re honored and grateful to have a longstanding relationship with Disney in helping us advance our mission of delivering happiness to seriously ill kids and their families through programs that unleash the power of play,” said Adam Garone, CEO of Starlight Children’s Foundation. Together with AdventHealth for Children, these moments help transform hospital days into ones filled with smiles, creativity, and hope. “At AdventHealth for Children, healing goes beyond medicine. When Rapunzel steps into a room and a child lights up, you can feel the power of joy,” said Kristi Baker, senior executive officer of AdventHealth for Children. “Moments like these bring light, ease fear, and strengthen hope for families. We are grateful to partners like Disney and Starlight Children’s Foundation for helping kids be kids, even during treatment.” A Magical Reminder of What’s Possible Rapunzel has always believed in following a dream, and that same spirit filled the halls of AdventHealth for Children during her visit. For patients on their own courageous journeys, the celebration served as a reminder that imagination, hope, and possibility can shine even in the most challenging moments. Through meaningful partnerships and moments that matter, Disney continues to support children’s hospitals across Central Florida and beyond, helping ensure that wherever a child’s story unfolds, a little magic is never far away. Picture this: You just got off the Disney bus at your resort after a long day of walking 20,000+ steps, and you’re hungry because dinner was hours ago, but now you’re faced with the issue of where to get food from. End Zone Food Court You leave the park after the fireworks. Maybe you stayed for Extended Evening Hours, rode a few extra attractions, lingered on Main Street, or waited for transportation crowds to thin out. You finally arrive back at your hotel close to midnight, you’re tired, happy… and suddenly starving. Then you discover the problem. At Disney World, the parks stay open late, but the food usually doesn’t. And it’s becoming one of the most frustrating gaps in the entire vacation experience. The Late-Night Dining Gap Disney resorts are designed around convenience. Transportation runs late, and merchandise stays open one hour past park closing. But dining? Not so much. Many quick-service restaurants inside the parks close before the parks themselves do. When you finally return to your resort, most food courts and hotel quick-service locations shut down at 11 PM. For guests staying out late, that means the most relaxing part of the day, heading back to the hotel, suddenly becomes a scramble to find something to eat. The result is a late-night hunger problem. Disney food courts The Nearby Options Guests quickly learn that the only reliable late-night meals are technically outside Disney dining. There is a 24-hour option surprisingly close by with the famous McDonald’s at Disney World near the All-Star Resorts. A short drive away, Taco Bell in Kissimmee stays open until 4 AM, and the ever-reliable Wawa just outside of Disney runs 24/7 with sandwiches, snacks, and drinks. Many guests believe that you shouldn’t have to leave Disney property late at night to find dinner after a full park day. The Best Fast Food in Florida is Just Minutes from Disney World McDonald’s at Disney World If you want food found outside of Disney, you’ll need to either drive there or use a third-party service. Services like DoorDash will deliver directly to Disney Resort hotels. You will need to make sure you meet your driver in the lobby area to receive your food. For many visitors, this is the solution after a long night. It works, but it still requires ordering, additional fees, waiting, and hoping restaurants nearby are open and accepting orders. But don’t worry, we have a few other options. ©DoorDash Planning Your Midnight Snack Before Midnight One of our favorite tricks is to plan ahead and bring a park snack back with you to the resort. One of the easiest tricks is grabbing take-home treats on the way out of the park. Locations like the Main Street Confectionery or Karamell-Küche sell desserts specifically designed to travel well back to your room. We’re talking cookies, caramel treats, and packaged snacks like trail mix and candy. These will hold up and instantly solve the “everyone is hungry” moment when you reach your room. Treats in the Main Street Confectionery Another option is to stop at your resort’s gift shop before heading out to the parks to grab chips, microwave meals, drinks, or snacks, which creates a backup meal waiting in the room. When you return exhausted, you already have something to eat without leaving again. Many resorts even sell frozen pizzas, waffles, and more if you have a microwave or oven in your hotel room. Stock up on snacks! For longer trips, the most effective solution is turning your hotel room into your own mini late-night quick service. Using Amazon Fresh, guests can schedule groceries to arrive at their Disney Resort. Bell Services stores refrigerated items until pickup, and you can order same-day delivery or schedule it up to three days in advance. The pricing is surprisingly reasonable, with delivery being free over $100, and you can order everything from cut fruit and sandwich ingredients to yogurt, breakfast foods, drinks, and snacks. Many travelers even use it to stock breakfast for the week, eliminating morning food lines as well. Instead of hunting for food after midnight, it’s waiting in your room every night. 8 Shocking Things You Can Get Delivered to Your Disney Hotel Get snacks and drinks delivered! When tourists are planning trips to the Orlando area, the first question many face is whether to visit Walt Disney World or the Universal Orlando Resort. While there are a litany of reasons to visit both world-class resorts, sometimes the decision can come down simply to dates. Universal Studios Whether it’s due to what Universal is offering, or simply what some guests may wish to avoid at Disney World, these are the dates that many will be looking at Universal Orlando for their theme park fun. Let’s begin with some of Universal’s best offerings: March 1st will see the start of Butterbeer Season, a celebration of the iconic Harry Potter drink, which is available at Universal’s Wizarding World locations in several forms, including cold, hot, frozen, and as ice cream, fudge, and potted cream. The event, which extends to May 31st, will feature “limited-time treats and merch inspired by the iconic drink.” Of course, there’s Halloween Horror Nights, the premier Halloween event in the whole theme park world. Pretty much any day is a good day to get HHN tickets… EXCEPT the opening night and Halloween itself, both of which are usually slammed. Finally, Universal’s Holiday Season — including the Holiday Parade and the Grinchmas celebration — kicks off on November 14th. Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights However, like we said above, Universal’s offerings aren’t the only reasons the resort is better to visit on certain days. Some are based on days guests would rather AVOID Disney World. Let’s begin with EPCOT’s festival start dates. While the park’s annual fests are some of the best times to visit overall, their opening days tend to be crowded, with items often unavailable or selling out. The remaining festival openers for 2026 are Flower and Garden on March 4th, Food & Wine in late August, and the Festival of the Holidays on Black Friday, November 27th. Bambi topiary The (re)opening days of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (spring) and the new Muppets take on Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster (summer) promise to be the biggest and most in-demand ride openings at Disney World this year, meaning that both days might be better spent visiting the competition. ©Disney While Universal’s parks will surely be crowded on America’s 250th birthday, it seems likely that their 4th of July crowds won’t be close to those of Disney World, especially the Magic Kingdom, since Universal isn’t nearly as well known for its fireworks show as the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” The sky just lights up with this show Finally, there’s the runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, which lasts from October 22nd to the 25th. Simply put, while race weekends are great for competitors and their families, for uninvolved guests, they usually involve crowded parks, delayed openings, rerouted roads, and traffic snafus. ©Disney If you’re making your way to the Central Florida area in 2026, you may want to consider Universal Orlando on these dates.
