There are so many construction projects happening in Hollywood Studios right now, I feel like they should hand you a hard hat and a hammer when you enter the parks. Well, okay, most of it is all behind walls, so I might be able to ignore the construction a little bit, but there’s a lot happening with massive cranes and equipment everywhere. Walt Disney Studios construction Disney just filed three new permits for the park, and we might be seeing construction in other areas of the park soon. In Toy Story Land filed a permit for “electrical work.” We know this doesn’t sound that exciting, and while it might all be in backstage areas, there might be a few more construction walls added along with closures of smaller areas. Disney hasn’t announced any major projects or closures coming to the area, so we’re hoping this will be a small fix. Toy Story Land Two permits were filed for Walt Disney Studios, the new area replacing Animation Courtyard — one for mechanical work and one for electrical work. It’s hard not to miss these massive construction walls and cranes when you enter the park, but we’re excited for the new land to open this summer. @bioreconstruct on X It will include drawing classes with an animatronic Olaf (and if it’s anything like the one coming to Disneyland Paris, we’re going to be in awe)… ©Disney …and character meet and greets! They’re going to be themed to different departments of an animation studio. ©Disney From the concept art, it looks like there will be some more characters outside the building, which is The Magic of Disney Animation. ©Disney You can’t forget about the Alice in Wonderland-themed indoor playground, either. It’s based on the original concept art by Mary Blair, and we are beyond thrilled to be entering through the looking glass. ©Disney There will be a redesigned Disney Jr. show as well. It’s currently running in Disneyland, and we’ve had a lot of fun watching it, so being able to bring all those characters back here will be a blast. ©Disney Yeah, we’ll probably never stop talking about how excited we are for Walt Disney Studios to open, and more permits just mean more work in on the way, and we’re getting closer and closer to opening. The Toy Story Land permit threw us for a loop, but let’s cross our fingers that the project is short-lived. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more updates on Disney Parks! Disney’s Hollywood Studios is no stranger to change — the former Disney-MGM Studios has transformed almost completely since its 1989 opening day, including having its very name changed — and 2026 is no different. New Hollywood Studios Map The park is currently in the midst of several massive construction projects, including the March 2nd permanent closure of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, which is about to be substantially rethemed, with The Muppets replacing “The Bad Boys of Boston.” Now, that’s being reflected on the park’s map! Ever since Herb Ryman drew the first preliminary presentation map of Disneyland 70+ years ago, Disney theme park maps have been a favorite souvenir of guests, previewed new park additions, and provided a way around the parks in paper and electronic forms to this day! Hollywood Studios’ map has been updated to show the Rock ’n’ Coaster closed, along with a teaser for the Muppet attraction. The map has changed! Note that the redeveloped Animation Courtyard — featuring the newly reimagined Magic of Disney Animation — is also teased on the map. It’s scheduled to open later this year. The newest paper map doesn’t yet preview Monsters, Inc. land coming to the park, instead showing the area — still identified as Grand Avenue — as simply full of trees and greenery. Grand Avenue Of course, in the 21st century, Disney’s maps aren’t only paper. There’s also a full map available on the Walt Disney World My Disney Experience App, where the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is shuttered with no wait times. My Disney Experience App Map Upon closer inspection, it’s interesting to note that the ride’s original name is still being used on the app for now. The original name. In addition to the map, the ride is listed as closed… Closed! … throughout the app. Bye, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Hollywood Studios is changing, and the park’s map is evolving right along with it! Stay tuned to DFB for more on the park’s evolution. Are We Just Gonna Ignore This HUGE Sign in the Hollywood Studios Concept Art?! For many Walt Disney World guests — especially the early birds — rope dropping the Magic Kingdom (AKA arriving at the park in time to enter as soon as it opens, literally as Cast Members drop the entry rope) is a major mission each trip. Rope Drop crowds! Now, the goals of rope dropping are to get into the park as quickly as possible and, in turn, get to some of the busiest attractions at the park before the crowds descend. Which brings us to the mistake that many attempted rope droppers make… To explain said mistake, we first have to make a quick distinction between the aforementioned rope dropping and early entry. The former occurs when the park officially opens to the public for the day. The latter is a popular perk for guests staying at Walt Disney World hotels, which is a 30-minute period each morning when guests of Disney resorts and other select hotels can access each of the theme parks prior to the general public. Early entry sign! So in layman’s terms, if the Magic Kingdom opens to the public at 9:00 AM, hotel guests can begin entering the park and accessing certain attractions. As of early 2026, those attractions include: “it’s a small world” Astro Orbiter Dumbo the Flying Elephant Mad Tea Party Mickey’s PhilharMagic Peter Pan’s Flight Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Space Mountain The Barnstormer The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Tomorrowland Speedway Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress So, as you can see, Early Entry guests are funneled to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Which means that those rope dropping the park and hoping to get to rides as quickly as possible would be making a mistake heading to either of those two lands, as they’re already going to be somewhat packed with hotel guests taking advantage of Early Entry. “it’s a small world” Instead, rope-dropping guests would be wise to head to Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square. There, they can try to jump on heavy-hitter attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, The Jungle Cruise, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and The Haunted Mansion before the Early Entry crowds make their way over to the eastern edge of the park. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure If you find yourself planning to rope drop the Magic Kingdom this year without Early Entry access, make sure to remember that heading to the left is the right direction. Stay tuned to DFB for further Magic Kingdom tips. 5 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Yesterday was a sad day for Aerosmith fans, as well as for those who love Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and are sad to be without it for a few months while it undergoes its massive refurbishment. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is closed! That’s right — yesterday was the FINAL day to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in its original form; Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Now, the ride undergoes a transformation to become Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, which is expected to open this summer. Now that the doors are closed, though, what does the beginning of construction look like? We first grabbed a park map to see if the change had already been made, and sure enough, there it was! Now, near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, it says “Future home of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.” It also clearly shows that the Villains: Unfairly Ever After attraction is still PAST Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, so people are aware that there’s another attraction back there. The map has changed! When we got to the attraction at around 9 AM, we noticed first that the word “Aerosmith” is GONE from the main entrance! We could also see that the gates were closed, so no one could get past. So, what does this mean for the Villains show? Do people need to take an alternate route? Fortunately, the answer is no — the gates will open around when the first Villains show begins for the day, which is at 10:30 AM. This means that, for the time being, people will be able to walk right past the closed ride! Gates will open when Villains shows begin We also were able to see the guitar from the gate, and it looks like the wording has ALREADY been taken off the guitar! We can see where it used to say “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith,” likely because it was on there for so long, so it left a lasting mark. The guitar Based on the concept art for the new attraction, it looks like the guitar itself will stay, but it’ll be painted to better match the color scheme of The Electric Mayhem’s iconic van. It’ll also get the new name for the attraction on it. ©Disney Last night, we saw TONS of people show up and show out to say goodbye to this iconic attraction. The biggest crowds were at both rope drop (around a 120-minute wait) and right after Fantasmic! let out for the night, and people rushed to get in line for the ride (around a 135-minute wait). Long lines for the attraction right before it closed! We’ll be keeping you updated on all the latest news regarding this retheme, as well as all the other construction around the parks, so stay tuned to DFB! Things are happening so fast with The Walt Disney Company that it may make keeping up with all the news that has happened recently difficult. Between getting ready to switch CEOs and all the big changes happening in Disney World and Disneyland, there are a lot of updates to keep up with. ©Disney This week, Disney made some pretty big announcements, too. We’re going to break down the four biggest announcements of the week to make sure you’re kept in the loop. The Return of Muppet*Vision 3D Muppet*Vision 3D might be gone from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but Disney has been working to keep the film’s legacy intact. This week, Brian Henson, Jim Henson’s son, confirmed that Muppet*Vision 3D will arrive on VR headsets and Apple Vision Pro. That means you can watch Muppet*Vision 3D at home with all the 3D effects anytime you want via streaming. Muppet*Vision 3D Full Menus for Disney California Food & Wine Festival The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival kicks off on March 6th and will run through April 27th. Disney just dropped the full menus for all the food booths and special food and drinks coming to the festival, and we can’t wait to (to quote Zootopia) “try everything!” ©Disney Changes reported for Disney World’s Villains Land We’ve been waiting for some updates regarding Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom. This week, a new report suggested that some of the plans for the land have changed, and that the land will contain a roller coaster themed around The Emperor’s New Groove, a state-of-the-art Maleficent dark ride, and a third ride we don’t have a lot of details about. A Hades dinner show is also reportedly coming to the new land. Disney has not yet confirmed any of these details, and things still might — and likely will — change. But, this is still something exciting that means Villains Land is really becoming a reality! Villains Land ©Disney Controversial New Attraction in Hollywood Studios Disney also dropped some news about a new attraction coming to The Walt Disney Studios (formerly Animation Courtyard) in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A new drawing class is being added to The Magic of Disney Animation experience there, which will feature an animatronic Olaf. However, unlike other animation classes offered in Disney World and Disneyland, instead of a live animator, the attraction will just have a pre-recorded video teaching you how to draw. ©Disney This change has angered many Disney fans who claim the pre-recorded video classes take away from the personal experience the animation classes have offered in the past. We’ll keep you updated on EVERY Disney update, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more. 4 New Things That’ll Make Your Disney World Park Bag 10x Better in 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! If there’s a new snack at Disneyland, you can best believe we’re running over to try it! Mini Corn Dogs Disneyland Park is home to MANY tasty treats, and we’re always excited when it adds to its pantheon of interesting theme park food. Frontierland’s Golden Horseshoe is an underappreciated quick-service restaurant that serves some of those classic eats with a menu that gets shaken up quite often. It’s latest iteration features a classic Disney treat with a twist, and it’s safe to say we have some thoughts… The Golden Horseshoe is located deep within Frontierland, a few steps from the Rivers of America, and offers tons of American fare like chicken tenders, floats, and ice cream desserts. Best of all, you get to enjoy these eats inside an old-timey saloon where Walt Disney and his wife celebrated their 30th anniversary with the debut performance of the original Golden Horseshoe Revue. Golden Horseshoe Recently, we visited to check out a new menu addition — Mini Corn Dogs with Fries! This Disney classic is now available at the Golden Horseshoe for $10.99, and you can tack on a side of sweet chili sauce for an extra $1.39. Mini Corn Dogs with the sauce The corn dog batter was sweet with a golden brown, crunchy outside, and the hot dog had a salty, savory, and meaty flavor. We would’ve preferred a cheese sauce, but the sweet chili sauce was decent. It was heavier on the sweet side rather than being spicy — so folks terrified of spice could try this without worrying too much. Still, this snack would’ve scored so many more points if it only came with some fan-favorite plastic cheese — or any cheese! A look inside The biggest complaint we have is the portion size. If these were priced like a kids’ meal or if Disney upped the portion size, we’d be more inclined to get them again. As is, our meal only came with six, while similar offerings at Disney World have several more! And we were seriously lacking in the fry department as well. While many folks give the victory to Disneyland over Disney World when it comes to the food, we have to say that Disney World takes the victory in this battle of mini corn dogs. We’d rather get them from Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom or full-sized corn dogs from Corn Dog Castle at California Adventure or Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in Downtown Disney. It’s spring, and that can only mean one thing at EPCOT! Flower and Garden Festival The 2026 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival runs from March 4th to May 31st, and we love this festival! There are so many food booths you can try, exclusive merchandise to grab, and even concerts you can go see. While there is a LOT to do, there might be a few dates you should avoid heading to the festival if you can! March 4th I know, I know — March 4th is opening day of the festival. If you really want to be some of the first people to experience the event, then you’re going to be there on opening day. But, if you don’t want huge crowds and long booth lines, we suggest waiting! Opening day can cause long lines, limited spaces for seating, and even long standby wait times. 2025 booth March 7th Opening day might be packed, but honestly, so is the first Saturday of a festival! This is when a lot of locals come to check out the festival, which can cause long lines for food, rides, and even bathrooms. If you can, try hitting EPCOT on a weekday to avoid big crowds during a festival. 2025 Swirled Showcase April 3rd to 6th April 5th is Easter this year, and holidays bring big crowds to the Disney parks. Many guests have time off from school and work around Easter, making this a busy weekend in all of the Disney World parks. EPCOT is not an exception to this. While we know many guests will be traveling during this time, if you have flexibility, we suggest waiting until after this Spring Break period to visit. 2025 Flower and Garden crowds May 23rd to 25th Again, another holiday weekend that falls during this festival is Memorial Day. May 23rd to 25th is Memorial Day weekend, and a lot of guests from out of town, as well as locals, will visit Disney World during this time. EPCOT Festival Crowds May 30th Finally, May 30th is the last Saturday before the festival ends. This means a lot of guests will be hitting EPCOT one more time to grab that one last favorite snack or one last chance to take in the topiaries while they can! Heavy crowds trying to get in! The DFB team will be there on the opening day of the festival to review everything there is to do, so be sure to stay tuned! We’ll bring you everything you need to know about this year’s festival. Planning a 2026 trip to Disney World is different. Between new attractions opening, lands being re-imagined, and entire areas under refurbishment, the resort is going to feel more like a construction zone than a polished theme park vacation at times. Bay Lake Tower That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go, but it just means where you stay matters more than usual. In a year full of closures, refurbishments, and noise disruptions, some hotels are becoming less popular with repeat visitors. Here are three Disney World hotels fans are hesitating to book in 2026, and whether they might still make sense for you. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Animal Kingdom Lodge is usually one of the most beloved resorts at Disney World. Savanna views, incredible dining, and a peaceful atmosphere make it a bucket-list stay. But 2026 is a complicated year here due to construction. From October 2025 through May 2026, guest rooms at Kidani Village will undergo refurbishment, followed immediately by Jambo House refurbishments from May 2026 through January 2027. Disney has warned guests they may see or hear construction during their stay, though most amenities will remain open. But it’s not only construction that is causing guests to pause. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Animal Kingdom Lodge is already the most isolated deluxe resort. It only has bus transportation and sits far from Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. That distance becomes more noticeable when the nearby park, Animal Kingdom, is itself undergoing a major transformation period this year, as construction for Pueblo Esperanza is underway. Guests staying here will likely spend extra time commuting to the other parks and return to a resort with active refurbishment. The Savanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge Who Should Still Consider Booking Animal lovers and resort-focused travelers may still love it. If you plan to schedule rest days, prioritize dining at the resort (Boma, Sanaa, Jiko), or simply want a calm atmosphere at night, this can still be magical, especially if you score a discounted rate during refurbishment. Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney’s Contemporary Resort The Contemporary normally sells itself with it being walkable to Magic Kingdom, the monorail inside the building, and the iconic views. But from September 2024 through late 2027, the resort is undergoing phased refurbishment across major areas including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower. Guests can expect visible construction and noise. On top of that, January 26 through early May 2026 brings temporary closures to the Bay Cove Pool, Cove Bar, water play area, and whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower. The main feature pool remains open, but part of the deluxe experience is reduced. That matters because the Contemporary is one of the most expensive resorts at Disney World. Paying top-tier pricing while navigating walls, equipment, and partial amenities is making many regulars hesitate. Disney’s Contemporary Resort Who Should Still Consider Booking? Families with little ones or guests prioritizing walking to Magic Kingdom may still find this unbeatable. If fireworks views and convenience matter more than ambiance, the location alone can outweigh the downsides. Disney’s Contemporary Resort Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground The new cabins at Fort Wilderness have actually become popular. They’re classified as deluxe accommodations, meaning guests get Extended Evening Hours. On paper, that sounds like a secret hack, but in reality, transportation is the challenge. Fort Wilderness is sprawling, but that also means you are taking transportation to do anything. Many guests report needing a bus just to reach another bus or boat, with internal travel sometimes taking 20 minutes just to get food. Now add construction: from early May 2025 through mid-2026, work will occur near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. Other pools remain open, but seating may be limited, and guests may see or hear construction. The cabins themselves are great, but the logistics are what’s giving travelers pause. New Fort Wilderness Cabins Who Should Still Consider Booking? Large families and guests who want space will still love it. You get a full cabin, outdoor atmosphere, and deluxe perks at a lower price than traditional deluxe resorts. If you drive your own car or plan resort days, it can actually be fantastic. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground Construction doesn’t automatically ruin a vacation, yet choosing the wrong resort during a heavy refurbishment year can dramatically change your experience. The good news: with the right expectations, each of these hotels can still be the perfect fit for certain travelers. There’s one feature in the Disney World app that almost nobody uses enough, and we’re officially calling you out about it. My Disney Experience app We spend a lot of time talking about mobile ordering, wait times, and hotel check-in, but there’s a hidden gem in the My Disney Experience app that deserves way more love. It’s quick, it’s meaningful, and it can genuinely make someone’s day. If you’re heading to Disney World soon, you absolutely need to start using the Cast Compliment feature. (Yes, we’re serious.) If you’ve ever had a Cast Member completely turn your day around, you know exactly why this matters. Maybe they found your kid the perfect seat for the parade. Maybe they helped you track down a lost item. Maybe they just gave you that over-the-top Disney kindness when you needed it most. Those magical moments don’t happen by accident. Cast Members That’s where the Cast Compliment feature comes in. ©Disney Inside the My Disney Experience app, you can submit a mobile Cast Compliment directly from your phone. It takes maybe two minutes, and you don’t have to hunt down Guest Relations or fill out a paper form. You just open the app, tap the rightmost bottom icon, scroll all the way down, and look for the Cast Compliment option. From there, you can share the reason for your compliment, the location, enter the Cast Member’s name, their hometown, and the date of the interaction. It’s simple. It’s fast. And it actually matters. ©Disney These compliments don’t just disappear into the void. They get shared with leadership and can become part of that Cast Member’s record. Recognition like this can impact their career growth, internal awards, and overall morale. You’re not just saying thanks. You’re helping someone’s hard work get noticed. ©Disney And if you need a reminder to do it, World Compliment Day is March 1st. That makes it the perfect excuse to go out of your way to recognize someone who made your vacation better. We love a holiday that requires zero decorations and only good vibes. Disney World Cast Member We know it’s easy to get wrapped up in your Lightning Lane return times, dining reservations, and snack goals. Disney days are busy. But taking a couple of minutes to pause and acknowledge a Cast Member is one of the most powerful things you can do on your trip. ©Disney Think about it. Cast Members are out there in the Florida heat, during the holiday rush, and on those random days when the parks are packed for no apparent reason. They’re answering the same questions over and over, handling complicated situations, and still managing to smile through it all. The least we can do is make sure the magic flows both ways. Magic Kingdom Cast Member Another thing we love about the mobile Cast Compliment feature is that you don’t have to wait until you’re home and exhausted to remember someone’s name. You can submit it right there while the moment is fresh. If you spot their nametag, jot it down in your Notes app, or just send the compliment on the spot. ©Disney On your next trip, make it a goal to send at least one Cast Compliment. Two if you’re feeling ambitious. You’ll walk away knowing you helped sprinkle a little magic back onto the people who spend all day creating it for you. Cast Member As always, we’re here to help you make the most of your Disney World vacation, so keep following along with DisneyFoodBlog for more tips you didn’t know you needed. While there are lots of construction and updates happening to the Universal parks in both Orlando and Hollywood, we can’t forget about the new park coming to the United Kingdom! ©Universal | UK Theme Park Back in April 2025, it was confirmed that a new Universal park would be making its way to the UK, and we’ve been watching for updates ever since. Right in the middle of December 2025, the UK Government officially approved permission for Universal to begin planning for a Universal Destinations and Experiences theme park and resort in Bedford, but that was the last update we heard. That’s all changing now, though, because there’s a new update — a specific utilities group has now been assigned to create new community infrastructure in Bedford for the park! On February 23rd, 2026, a press release from Universal announced that ESP Utilities Group had been appointed to “design, build, and operate significant new community infrastructure in Bedford,” which is right where the new park is planned to be. The company will work closely with both Universal and the Bedford Borough Council, as well as “key local providers,” to create the additional infrastructure and support to begin bringing the park to life. ©Universal via BBC The press release outlines specific infrastructure updates, including, but not limited to: A substantial new water treatment facility that will be located on Universal’s site and be designed to reuse and recycle water where possible. The new site, adopted by ESP and designed and built by Veolia, will drastically reduce the amount of water the resort uses and the volume of sewerage to be discharged. Enhanced water management in the form of maximizing surface water drainage — rainwater will be collected locally to avoid flooding issues. A new primary substation that will result in a new electrical substation that will have the capacity to serve both Universal and the surrounding developments. An all-electric central energy plant that will help Universal align with the UK’s trajectory towards net zero by 2050. ESP and Veolia will work together to create an all-electric plant to provide low-carbon heating and cooling to the resort, as well as possibly the surrounding areas. Low-carbon transport in the form of one of the UK’s largest EV charging facilities for visitors to the Universal resort. A fleet of electric or other low-carbon transportation will transfer guests from local railway stations to the resort to additionally reduce impact. ©Universal In the press release, Kevin O’Connor, Chief Executive Officer, ESP Utilities Group said, “With the support of our partners in Veolia, we are immensely proud to be able to deliver a pioneering water, power and energy strategy for the Entertainment Resort Complex and surrounding areas. Our model of long-term ownership, combined with Veolia’s outstanding operational capability, creates a complete solution that provides resilience for years to come, reduces energy demands, and supports Universal to meet its goal of world class sustainable infrastructure that can serve both the project and surrounding communities.” More Recent Universal News! Yes, you DID read that title right. Despite the fact that many may think the words “Disney” and “free” never go together, there are some Disney events that offer “free” food. After Hours Now, a quick caveat since someone will say it: In the context of these events, “free” could also technically be described as “included” as these snacks and food items are part of separate ticketed events that require admission. However, since those events also offer other foods for sale, it’s still fair to refer to the included snacks as “free.” After Hours Events These special events allow guests who’ve purchased tickets to stay in a select Disney theme park for 3 hours after the park closes to the general public. Perks include access to some of the resort’s most popular rides with significantly shorter wait times, and — our focus here — some included snacks. Complimentary Snacks During After Hours events, ice cream novelties, popcorn, and select bottled beverages are included in the cost and available at various locations stationed throughout the parks. Magic Kingdom Main Street, U.S.A. – Popcorn and snack carts near Cinderella Castle Tomorrowland – Astrofizz hosted by Coca-Cola and ice cream carts near Tomorrowland Speedway Fantasyland – Maurice’s Popcorn near Gaston’s Tavern, plus ice cream carts near Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Pinocchio Village Haus Liberty Square – Popcorn cart near Liberty Tree Tavern Adventureland – Popcorn cart near Jungle Cruise Complimentary Snacks Hollywood Studios Grand Avenue snack cart Hollywood Boulevard snack cart Sunset Boulevard snack cart Toy Story Land snack cart We love Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches! EPCOT Mission: SPACE snack cart Imagination snack cart Connections snack cart Fountain Popcorn snack cart Popcorn and water at EPCOT After Hours The H2O Glow After Hours at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon offers “ice cream novelties, popcorn and select soft drinks” at locations in the water park. H2O Glow After Hours Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party The Magic Kingdom’s premier Halloween event includes candy as part of the event’s Trick or Treat trails, allowing guests to fill their provided candy bags to their heart’s content. Happy Halloween! Trick or Treat locations have included the following in the past: Main Street, U.S.A. Market Street Welcome Tomorrowland Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise Storybook Circus Walt Disney World Railroad Station – Fantasyland Dumbo the Flying Elephant Fantasyland Gaston’s Tavern Princess Fairytale Hall Mickey’s PhilharMagic Frontierland Tiana’s Bayou Adventure The Diamond Horseshoe Country Bear Musical Jamboree Adventureland Jungle Cruise Tortuga Tavern Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room Sunshine Tree Terrace Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Disney also has special accommodations for those with allergies: “If you have a food allergy, please see a Cast Member to pick up a teal-colored treat bag. When you trick-or-treat with your teal bag, you’ll receive a teal token at our treat stations. Later on, you can redeem these teal tokens at our Allergy-Friendly Centers for special treats!” Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party The Magic Kingdom’s annual Christmas extravaganza also includes snacks in the form of festive sweets like cookies and hot and cold holiday sips, including hot cocoa at designated locations around the park, often identified by a large glowing inflatable. Hot Cocoa Cookie made with DOVE Chocolate Pieces Hot Cocoa It’s interesting to note that Jollywood Nights — the after-hours Holiday event at Hollywood Studios — has not offered any type of included “free” snacks, drinks, or food items as of the 2025 version of the event. It remains to be seen if that changes in the future. Welcome to Jollywood Nights! While “free” food is certainly not the norm at Disney World, you can find some included snacks and drinks at these Disney World events. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney tips. I feel like I’m repeating myself when I say, “it’s the end of an era.” We’ve been saying that a lot lately, as we’ve had to say goodbye to a lot of classic Disney World attractions like Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat in Magic Kingdom, all of DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Saying goodbye to the Muppets, though, was bittersweet because they’re moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to take over that ride. But that means we have to say goodbye to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and today is the last day to do so. Well, we headed to Hollywood Studios to pay our respects and enjoy some “Love in a Roller Coaster” one last time. When we arrived at Hollywood Studios, things were busy as people streamed into the park’s entrance. A little busy So where was everyone headed? Well, we had barely even stepped through the park’s entrance when we noticed a line…a very long line. The line Yep, that line is for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith! WILD. Here’s where the end of the line was at the time. Yes, it’s reaching PAST Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! In fact, it’s actually going backstage between the Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After theater and Tower of Terror. The end of the line The wait time was 85 minutes, and there were no Lightning Lane Multipass options for the ride left. Yep, this ride is going to be ROCKING all day long. ©Disney As of tomorrow, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be closed forever. The ride will reopen sometime this summer with the new Muppets theme. The two attractions will share a similar story and pre-show, but we can imagine that the Muppets version will have way more chaos and hijinks. We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates about the new ride, so stay tuned to DFB for more. It’s almost spring, and that can only mean one thing at Disney World — EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival is about to begin! Bambi topiary The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival returns to Disney World on March 4th, transforming the park into one of the most stunning experiences of the year. You’ll find outdoor kitchens packed with seasonal snacks, live entertainment throughout the World Showcase, and, of course, the festival’s signature character topiaries. With that many blooming plants concentrated in one place, pollen levels inside the park can spike quickly, especially during warm, breezy afternoons. Common triggers include tree pollen, grass pollen, and mulched garden beds. Guests who don’t usually experience seasonal allergies at home may suddenly notice itchy eyes, sneezing, congestion, or headaches after a few hours outdoors in EPCOT, and Florida’s humidity tends to make symptoms linger longer. Phineas and Ferb Because of this, allergy medication becomes an essential park-bag item during the Flower & Garden season. Today, on World Compliment Day, we’re celebrating cast members and an incredible milestone—more than 3 million Mobile Cast Compliments shared by guests visiting Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Each day, messages of appreciation uplift our cast members for the magic they create. If you haven’t shared one yet, you may be wondering: what is a Mobile Cast Compliment, and how does it work? Mobile Cast Compliments is a feature in both the My Disney Experience and Disneyland Resort mobile apps that allows guests to send a heartfelt “thank you” to cast members who help create memorable moments during their visit. These moments of appreciation extend far beyond the interaction itself, leaving a lasting impact on the cast members who receive them. Unforgettable Photos Inspire Mobile Cast Compliments Mobile Cast Compliments are often inspired by moments that feel personal, joyful, and unforgettable—like those created by Luis, a Disneyland PhotoPass photographer. As the most‑complimented cast member at Disneyland Resort, Luis has been recognized time and time again for turning photo opportunities into magical, imaginative adventures. Known for guiding guests to the perfect locations with his signature humor, he keeps each experience fun and engaging. That approach, Luis says, comes from putting himself in the guests’ shoes. “Being named the most complimented cast member is beyond words,” Luis shared. “All I do is have fun with the guests and give them the experience I would want—capturing the moments I’d want to have of my kids. There are much better photographers than myself, but I think it’s my personality. I give the guests an adventure.” For Luis, it’s that genuine connection that transforms a family photo into a vacation highlight. By being himself and creating joyful moments, he leaves guests with memories that last long after their visit ends. And when guests take the extra step to recognize him, it means even more. “Getting compliments from guests feels like they’re saying I left a memory with them,” Luis said. “When they take the extra step to share that through the app, it’s pretty cool because it means they remember that I gave them something they truly enjoyed.” Kilimanjaro Safaris Guides Earn Rave Reviews At Walt Disney World, Kilimanjaro Safaris guides Charm and Angel bring their joy, humor, and energy to every journey across the savanna—earning recognition as two of Walt Disney World’s most highly complimented cast members. For Charm, every day at Kilimanjaro Safaris is special. Whether she’s leading an early morning tour or offering guests a close-up view of a giraffe, she brings genuine excitement to every interaction. She especially enjoys connecting one-on-one—answering questions, celebrating children’s love of animals, and creating meaningful moments guests will carry home with them. That personal approach is reflected in the recognition she receives from guests. “These Mobile Cast Compliments remind me that the small moments matter,” Charm shared. “Even a quick chat or a fun fact can make someone’s day, and knowing that makes me smile.” Angel has a gift for meeting guests exactly where they are. Whether they’re seeking excitement, a peaceful escape, or a meaningful conversation, he approaches every interaction with sincerity, empathy, and joy—creating moments that often spark smiles well beyond the savanna. That intentional approach spreads joy and happiness from one guest to the next. “Being named one of Walt Disney World’s top complimented cast members is something I never expected,” Angel shared. “I don’t think about numbers. I think about the smiles, the laughs, and the moments I get to share with guests. Knowing I made someone’s day—and that happiness carries forward—that’s what means the most.” In celebration of Global Recognition Week—a moment dedicated to sparking a wave of appreciation for the cast members who bring Disney magic to life each day—guests visiting Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort over the past week may have noticed a special invitation to join the celebration by sharing a Mobile Cast Compliment. And while the week shines a spotlight on gratitude, this feature is available year-round, creating ripple effects of happiness that extend far beyond a single visit. Thank you to all the extraordinary cast members who go above and beyond to bring the magic of Disney to life. On this World Compliment Day, we celebrate you and the unforgettable moments you create for guests every day. How to Leave Cast Compliments The next time a cast member makes magic for you, consider recognizing them for the great work they do by leaving a compliment on the My Disney Experience or Disneyland Resort apps. To send a compliment, navigate to the bottom of your app’s menu screen and select the “Cast Compliment” button. Then choose a positive sentiment from the drop-down menu. After that, enter the cast member’s first name, hometown and click submit! Pro Tip Make sure to spell the cast member’s first name and hometown correctly so the cast member will receive your recognition. March at Disney World hotels is kind of like showing up to a party where the weather is perfect, the vibes are high… and someone is also quietly repainting the living room while a Spring Break conga line forms in the hallway. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Here are 6 big hotel changes hitting Disney World in March, plus some very real-world tips for dodging crowds, construction noise, and the emotional damage of showing up for a lounge that is very closed. 1) Afternoon Tea is BACK at the Grand Floridian First up, the Grand Floridian Garden View Tea Room is officially back on March 19. This is the kind of news that makes people who own fancy headbands sit up straighter. The tea experience returns at the Garden View Lounge, and it’s that classic “I am refined and definitely not about to inhale three desserts in one sitting” energy. If you want to lock it in, reservations are open, and I would not wait around on that one because tea fans are fast. Garden View Lounge How to plan it like a pro: If you want it, set an alarm for ADR day. Tea people are… focused. Build your day around it: do a park morning, go back to your resort to reset, then roll into tea like the elegant goblin you are. 3 Things We’re BEGGING Disney To Bring to the Grand Floridian Tea Room 2) Preppin’ for Easter You may start seeing Easter vibes creep in during late March, because Easter is April 5 this year. Disney usually doesn’t flip a switch overnight; it’s more like a slow seasonal sparkle-fication, especially at places like the Grand Floridian and Yacht & Beach Club, where the lobby displays are a whole event. The Easter egg displays may start appearing in the last week or two of March. Easter Egg Display Important note: Disney doesn’t always drop official egg-display dates far in advance, so this is a “watch closely and be ready to pounce” situation. Historically, they’ve started in mid-to-late March. How to use this to your advantage: If you’re staying at a Crescent Lake resort (Yacht/Beach/BoardWalk/Swan & Dolphin), plan a non-park evening to resort-hop the displays. Go earlier in the day or later at night to avoid the lobby selfie traffic jam. STOP IT. These Easter Eggs in Disney World Are NOT Messing Around! 3) It’s Officially Spring Break Season March Spring Break at Disney World hotels is one of those “the vibes are immaculate, the volume is not” situations. It’s not automatically a disaster, but you do feel it in the little day-to-day moments that are normally easy. The lobby stops being a breezy shortcut and becomes a full-on suitcase parade. The quick service line looks like everyone on Earth woke up at the exact same moment and chose breakfast. And the pool? The pool is hosting a convention of inflatable flamingos, and you were not consulted. Here’s what’s actually happening, and how to plan around it without turning your vacation into a tactical military operation (unless you enjoy that, in which case… respect). BEWARE! The line could be LONG! In March, resort occupancy tends to run high because Spring Break travel is spread across weeks, not just one weekend. So it’s not always one single “worst day,” it’s more like a steady hum of people everywhere. That means you’ll notice crowds in places you might not expect: elevators at peak times, the bus stop line before park opening, the gift shop when everyone’s trying to grab sunscreen they forgot, and especially the food court during those classic meal rushes. One big thing people forget is that resort crowds stack up at the same time because everyone’s on the same rhythm. Between about 7:30AM and 9:30AM you get the breakfast wave plus the “we’re rope dropping” wave. Then you get the mid-afternoon return wave when people come back for naps and pool time. And then the evening wave hits when everybody’s hungry again and trying to mobile order at basically the same minute. Singing Spirits So your best strategy is to slide a little off the main current, like you’re sneaking around the edges of a parade route. If you can do breakfast earlier than you think you want to, it pays off. Even shifting 30 to 45 minutes makes a difference. Grab coffee and something small while everyone else is still hunting for shoes, then you can do a calmer second breakfast later if you’re a “vacation calories don’t count” person (which you should be, spiritually). Same idea with lunch and dinner: an early lunch before noon or a late lunch after 2PM often feels like you wandered into a totally different resort. Dinner gets easier if you aim for 5-ish or later, like 8-ish, because that 6:30 to 7:30 window is when the food court becomes a very polite but very intense sport. Packed seating Pool time needs a little strategy, too. If you want a calmer pool experience during Spring Break season, mornings are your best bet. Late morning into early afternoon is when it starts to fill in, and by mid-to-late afternoon, it can feel like everyone decided “today is pool day” at the same time. If you’re staying at a resort with multiple pools, go scout the quieter one on day one and mentally claim it as your personal “this is my calm corner” location. Leisure pools can be a lifesaver when the feature pool is in full soundtrack-blaring mode. Transportation is another place where Spring Break crowds show up. Buses can get longer lines around park opening. If you hate standing in a crowded bus line first thing in the morning (and it’s not even a park attraction), then consider hitting up transportation super early, wait until after that post-breakfast rush passes, or even splurge on a ride share option. It sounds small, but it can turn a “chaotic cattle call” into a “pleasant stroll.” Bus stop at All-Star Movies And this sounds silly, but it’s real: plan for lobby time. In March, lobbies get busy with check-ins, stroller navigation, people meeting up, and people doing the “we’re lost, where is our building” spiral. If you’re trying to get somewhere on time, don’t cut it close, thinking you’ll just breeze through. Give yourself a buffer so you’re not stressed before you even get to the park. If you want one single rule to live by, it’s this: during Spring Break season, you don’t win by going faster. You win by going smarter. Eat a little earlier or later, take breaks before you feel like you need them, do your relaxing in the morning, and treat peak times like something you simply… opt out of. Like a group chat argument, you mute for your mental health. Over 15 SECRET Walkways to Beat the Crowds in Disney World 4) St. Patrick’s Day hits March 17 Disney loves a holiday moment, so expect green-themed treats and specialty drinks to show up at various resort dining spots and lounges around March 17 (and sometimes a bit before/after, depending on location). St. Patrick’s Day treat The exact lineup can vary year to year, but it’s a strong bet you’ll see something festive around Disney Springs (hello, Raglan Road season). Pro tip: If you want to “accidentally” stumble into a seasonal cocktail, check lounge menus in the My Disney Experience app while you’re waiting for a bus. Productive spiraling! 5) Resorts Pool Refurbishments If your March vacation fantasy involves “pool day, pool bar, repeat,” read this part carefully (and maybe dramatically clutch your sunglasses). Contemporary Feature Pool Here’s what’s scheduled to be closed during March: Bay Lake Tower (Contemporary area): Bay Cove Pool closed Jan 26 to early May 2026 (and that includes the Cove Bar/water play area/whirlpool). Beach Club: Tidal leisure pool closed mid-January to early May 2026. Yacht Club: Admiral leisure pool closed through early May 2026. All-Star Sports: Surfboard Bay Pool + kiddie pool closed January to late April 2026. Pool This doesn’t mean “no swimming,” but it does mean your “quick dip” options may be reduced, and pool days might require a little more intention. If pool time is a big part of your trip, it’s worth choosing your resort with these closures in mind. If you’re staying at All Star Sport, you can still access the other All Star pools. If you’re staying at Yacht/Beach, remember: Stormalong Bay is the star, but the leisure pool closures can still affect your “quick dip” plans. Plan pool time for park days when you’ll actually use the big pool experience. If you’re at Bay Lake Tower, you still have access to the Contemporary feature pool area while Bay Cove is down. 6) Ongoing Refurbishments & Construction March is also a “construction is a lifestyle” month at several resorts. Most amenities stay open, but you may see scaffolding, blocked walkways, and the occasional soundtrack of Beeping Truck Reversing. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort There’s the general “refurb orbit” happening at a few resorts. Wilderness Lodge: exterior refurbishment expected to continue through late 2026. Polynesian: refurbishment/work through 2026, including entrance/roadway/bus area changes (expect visible daytime work). BoardWalk Inn: select area refurbishments throughout 2026. Kidani Village (Animal Kingdom Lodge): guest room refurbishment Oct 2025 through May 2026. Yacht Club dining shuffle: Crew’s Cup Lounge closes Feb 23 with reopening expected May 2026; Yachtsman Steakhouse closure starts later (May), but March visitors will feel the Crew’s Cup absence. Construction at Wilderness Lodge Now, for the practical survival stuff, because we’re not just here to be informed, we’re here to be emotionally supported. If you’re worried about construction, the biggest thing is to ask for a room away from it. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s one of those “closed mouths don’t get quiet hallways” situations. And if you’re sensitive to noise, a small white noise machine (or even a phone app) can be weirdly life-changing, especially for those early morning “backup backup backup” work sounds. Which Disney World Resort Hotel is Best for YOU? So, is March a “run away screaming” month for Disney World hotels? Not at all. It’s more like a “pack your patience and your backup plan” month. You’ve got some genuinely fun stuff happening (hello, Tea Room reopening, potential Easter displays, and surprise green cocktails), but you also have Spring Break crowds and a handful of pool and refurbishment situations that can absolutely change your day-to-day if you don’t know they’re coming. Disney’s Yacht Club The good news is: this is all manageable. Pick your resort with pool closures in mind, request a quiet room if construction would make you spiral, and build in a couple of strategic breaks so you’re not trying to outwalk Spring Break at 3PM. Do that, and March can still deliver that sweet spot Disney energy: sunshine, seasonal treats, and just enough chaos to make it feel like you’re really living.
