Bonjour once again from EPCOT’s France pavilion! This is not our first visit to this lovely pavilion this week. We’ve been trying some of the new options recently added to the France Booth as part of the offerings for the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. Feuilleté d’Escargot à la Crème d’Ail et Persil: Escargot in Puff Pastry with Garlic and Parsley Cream Sauce A few days ago, a new Escargot in Puff Pastry dish joined the booth’s offerings. While we really like the new item, it took the place of another that we quite enjoyed, as well: the Goat Cheese Tart. So it took us happily by surprise today when we found that the Goat Cheese Tart has not disappeared completely: it has simply moved! You can now find the Goat Cheese Tart (or Tarte aux Oignons Caramelises et Chévre) at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, our favorite spot tucked into the back of the France pavilion! Goat Cheese Tart The Tart isn’t yet listed on the menu, but we couldn’t help recognizing it sitting right there among the sandwiches and other savory items in the bakery case like the classic Jambon Beurre. Goat Cheese Tart One thing that wasn’t as familiar, though, was the SIZE! Here at Les Halles, the Goat Cheese Tart is practically DOUBLE in size of what we enjoyed during the Festival! Goat Cheese Tart But it serves up all of the same golden, flaky crust generously topped with goat cheese and caramelized onions. Goat Cheese Tart And the great news is that it’s $4.75 here at the Patisserie! (During its Festival run, it rang up for $5.50.) Goat Cheese Tart So, there you have it! This dish that made its debut at the Flower and Garden Festival then transformed into a Food and Wine Festival dish can now be yours at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie … at least for now! See our review of the France Booth’s newest addition to the Food and Wine Festival here! We are really hoping the Goat Cheese Tart is added as a regular offering to the Patisserie’s menu, and we’ll keep you posted if that comes true! For now, we say “Au Revoir!” From EPCOT’s France! What is your favorite thing to eat in EPCOT’s France Pavilion? Please let us know with a comment! Related posts: What’s New in EPCOT: A Surprise Closure, EPCOT Transformation Additions, and More! From beer flights to escargot, we’ve tried SO MANY delicious items from the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. 2020 Taste of EPCOT But, you can never have enough snack options at Disney. So, we were really excited to hear that more festival booths would be opening soon. Now, we’ve got some more details, that were shared to us by some Cast Members, on which new booths should be coming, and which booths will likely be limiting their operations. The 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival started on July 15th, when EPCOT first reopened. Since it began, we’ve seen some new booths open up, and other booths temporarily close on certain days. We’ve also been eagerly waiting for some more festival booths that are already constructed in EPCOT to open. Today, we were finally able to get some more details! Food & Wine 2020! Block & Hans is a year-round spot in the America pavilion that features specialty items for the Festival. A Cast Member at this location shared that Block & Hans should only be open on weekends. Since this weekend is Labor Day, the Cast Member shared that the booth’s operations would be extended so they can be open for the whole long weekend. But, the Cast Member said that for most other weeks, they believe it will likely only be open on Saturdays and Sundays, and possibly on Fridays as well. 2020 Booth A Cast Member we spoke to also shared that certain other Festival booths should only be open on weekends. We’ve noticed that the Spain booth, after reopening one weekend, was closed when we returned during the week. A Cast Member shared that this booth should only be open on weekends. 2020 Spain Booth According to the Cast Member, The Alps festival booth and Islands of the Caribbean, both of which we had seen temporarily close on certain days, should also be open only on weekends. The Alps A Cast Member we spoke to also shared that the Flavors from Fire booth should be coming to the Festival. Currently, an unnamed booth is constructed in EPCOT that looks very similar in design to the Flavors from Fire booth from last year, so we’ve anticipated that Flavors from Fire would be returning to the 2020 Festival. According to the Cast Member we spoke to, we may soon be able to eat some delicious treats from the Flavors from Fire booth! Unnamed Booth We actually noticed there were social distancing lines already placed near this unopened booth. Social Distancing Markers Near Unnamed Booth The Cast Member also shared that The Donut Box… The Donut Box …and Cool Wash should be opening soon! Cool Wash But, the Cast Member wasn’t sure when these booths would be officially opening. The Cast Member also noted that they didn’t know what — if anything — would be going into the area where the Wine and Dine Studio booth was at last year’s Food & Wine Festival. 2020 Taste of EPCOT Food and Wine Festival We’ve spotted an unopened and unnamed booth in that area which looks similar to the structure of the Chocolate Studio from last year, but we’ll definitely be on the lookout for any signage or updates near that spot. Unopened Booth If we find out any more exciting Food & Wine Festival news, we’ll be sure to share that with you! Come back for all the latest updates. Now, if you don’t mind, we’ve got some Food & Wine Merchandise shopping to do! Click here to check out the NEW EPCOT Food & Wine Dooney & Bourke bags we found in Disney World! As you probably know, entrance into the Disney World parks right now requires BOTH valid park admission AND a Disney Park Pass theme park reservation. Disney’s Hollywood Studios We’ve been keeping a close eye on the availability of Disney Park Passes as time goes on. Annual Passholders especially have had to contend with booked-up days more than a month in advance in some cases. Now, we’re starting to see some parks run out of reservations for the next few weeks in all ticket categories, so we’re bringing you a September Disney Park Pass update! Labor Day Weekend is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the most popular dates of the month so far. This Saturday and Sunday are booked up in all four parks for every ticket category. Wowza! While this has been the case for a little while, we still found we were still able to make reservations. You can read more about that here. Outside of that, select parks have begun running out of reservations as well. For Theme Park Tickets Guests, Hollywood Studios has started to see limited availability for the next two weeks. Park Pass Screenshot A similar case is true for Disney Resort Guests! September 7th also seems to be a big day for Animal Kingdom as Park Passes are completely unavailable in Animal Kingdom that day. Park Pass Screenshot Of course, the Annual Passholder calendar looks different with September 5th through 7th completely booked. The majority of days for the rest of the month have also run out of availability in at least one park, with the weekends being the most booked. Park Pass Screenshot Remember, if you’re headed to Disney World, book those Park Passes as soon as possible and check availability before you buy admission. As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates! Click here to learn more about the Disney Park Pass system! Are you headed to Disney World in September? Tell us in the comments! It’s still hard to fathom the death of Chadwick Boseman; the passing of a real-life superhero if there ever was one. The actor passed away on August 28th after a 4-year battle with colon cancer, and Disney is honoring its King with a fitting homage. Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther ©Disney Now Disney+ has added a tribute to the legendary actor, following an earlier premiere on ABC. We’ve already been rewatching Black Panther (through admittedly teary eyes) to reminisce about one of our very favorite actors, and now we can tune in to the aptly named Chadwick Boseman — A Tribute for a King. Chadwick Boseman — A Tribute for a King ©Disney The special highlights Boseman’s career, and the array of acclaimed roles he took on in his 43 years. Click here to assemble the perfect Black Panther movie night at home! In addition to King T’Challa, he also won hearts with his portrayal of real-life characters like Thurgood Marshall and James Brown. He really was a marvel! We love the Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace because it often surprises us with special limited-time drinks. So you can imagine how stoked we were when we found a drink on the menu today devoted to Iron-Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. Robert Brownie Jr. from Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace So obviously, we had to try it! The Robert BROWNIE Jr. (Yes, really, that’s its name!) is a mocha frappuccino made with heavy cream (oh, yeah), toffee nut syrup, and a blended-in brownie. And if that doesn’t sound like a slice of heaven, we don’t know what does! Robert Brownie Jr. from Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace We did, however, find the consistency of the frappuccino a little off: we expected something a little more like a milkshake, but it was kind of thin. Also, drink it fast because the blended ice melts really quickly. Robert Brownie Jr. from Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace However, we loved all the brownie bits, which added a yummy texture. But we think it could’ve used more chocolate sauce or something. Our favorite part was eating the brownie on top. By the time we ate it, it had soaked up all the whipped cream and goodies and was quite literally a fudgy brownie dream. YUM. Top of Robert Brownie Jr. at Starbucks at Disney Springs Marketplace However, Starbucks does charge for the drink plus the blended-in brownie, so this is a beverage that will set you back about $10.50. We would never pass on a drink with a name like Robert Brownie Jr., though, so in the end, we have no regrets! Find out more about the two new fruity drinks we found at Starbucks in Disney World! It’s officially Halloweentime at Disney World, and you know what that means: lots of super spooky new goodies to buy! Even better? A lot of those spooktacular things are based all around The Nightmare Before Christmas, including the Oogie Boogie Light-Up Dice that we found today! Oogie Boogie LIght-Up Dice In Fountain Drink At Disney World We saw these dice last year in Disneyland at Hollywood Lounge in California Adventure and at Storybook Treats at Disney World during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but we most recently spotted them on the Mobile Order menus of several locations at Magic Kingdom. Look at how big these things are! Oogie Boogie Light-Up Dice At Disney World They’re also wrapped nice and neat in plastic when you order them! It’s totally up to you if you want to unwrap them and dunk them into your drink. Oogie Boogie Light-Up Dice In Tray at Disney World So far, we’ve found these dice on the Mobile Order menus for Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, and Pinocchio Village Haus for $8.69 with any fountain drink. Disney can create some pretty incredible dresses. Tower of Terror Bellhop Dress Lately, we’ve seen a new Tower of Terror dress and an Oogie Boogie dress. Now, Disney has released another dress just in time for Dia De Los Muertos. We’re going “un poco loco” over the new Coco dress which can be found at The Dress Shop in Disney Springs. Coco Dress The dress features beautiful embroidered details inspired by the beloved Pixar film. Here’s a close up of the neckline detailing so you can see just how pretty it is! Coco Dress On the back, there’s a gorgeous design that would sit right at your shoulder blade. It reminds us that classic Coco adage, “Seize your moment.” Well, we’re thinking a great way to seize our moment right now would be to buy this dress! Coco Dress But we REALLY want to show you close-ups of the skirt. The skirt is inspired by the papel picados, or colorful paper banners, that are featured in the film. The intricate designs in the skirt pieces are so delightful. Look at this sugar skull design flanked by two guitars. Coco Dress One of the panels features Miguel grinning with his Land of the Dead disguise. Coco Dress Even Ernesto de la Cruz has a place on this skirt. He certainly is looking quite dapper! Coco Dress One of the panels is inspired by the alebrijes (or spirit guides!) in the movie, starring Pepita! Coco Dress The other panels are covered in musical motifs such as the movie’s logo and Miguel’s guitar. So cool! Coco Dress And, get this, the Coco Dress looks SO pretty with the new Yellow Velvet Minnie Ears AND the new Corduroy Orange and Plaid Minnie Ears. What a super easy and adorable way to pick out some matching accessories. Coco Dress If you’re looking for a sweet new dress to rep your love of Coco or help to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, look no further than The Dress Shop in Disney Springs. You can snag this gorgeous garment for $128. As always, stay tuned to DFB to see all the wonderful new merch from Disney! Looking for more Coco merch? Did you hear him shout it from the rooftops? Gaston is (very) proud to let you know that his Tavern has reopened to guests in Magic Kingdom! Gaston’s Tavern As of today, Magic Kingdom guests can once again stop by Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland to grab a LeFou’s Brew, enjoy a Warm Cinnamon Roll, and admire the statue of Gaston just outside the counter service spot placed there in tribute by… Gaston himself. In addition to the classic snacks mentioned above, guests at the Tavern will also find a new addition to the menu: The Grey Stuff Cupcake (also referred to as The Master’s Cupcake). TA DA!!!! The Grey Stuff Cupcake A bit of background… The Master’s Cupcake was previously served at Be Our Guest Restaurant when this popular location served a counter service-style lunch. But Be Our Guest Restaurant has switched to serving its signature prix-fixe Table Service menu for lunch as well as dinner since Magic Kingdom reopened in July. Master’s Cupcake at Be Our Guest Restaurant And so, The Master’s Cupcake was no longer an option… until today! The name has been changed to The Grey Stuff Cupcake on the menu sign, which also reflects that it is presented by none other than Be Our Guest Restaurant! Gaston’s Tavern Reopening Menu You see… The Master’s Cupcake itself was topped with “The Grey Stuff,” made famous by the song “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast! The Grey Stuff Cupcake As it was at Be Our Guest Restaurant, the Grey Stuff sits atop a chocolate cake base, garnished with candy pearls and a chocolate square. The Grey Stuff Cupcake You’ll even find a bit more of The Grey Stuff inside the cake base itself! The Grey Stuff Cupcake As always, The Grey Stuff is plentifully packed with cookies-and-cream flavor… you can even see fine cookie bits in the Grey Stuff which frosts the cake. The Grey Stuff Cupcake It’s got a light, creamy texture and it’s — c’mon, say it with me… DELICIOUS! (You can even find the recipe here to try it at home!) And the chocolate sponge cake is both rich and moist. Our only complaint? The Grey Stuff Cupcake The SIZE! This treat is $5.49, the actual amount of cake you get for this cupcake is… NOT MUCH. Granted, what you’re really getting here is the chance to try The Grey Stuff. The cake itself is simply a Grey Stuff conduit for a lot of folks. Basically, if you’re looking for a big, tasty cupcake in Magic Kingdom… you might find it best to wait for next week’s return of the Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake. But if you’re main goal is to try The Grey Stuff to see for yourself if it truly is DELICIOUS? Find the recipe to make The Grey Stuff at home by clicking here! Well, you can accomplish that at Gaston’s Tavern for now! Enjoy! Have you ever tried The Grey Stuff? What did you think? Please let us know with a comment! Disney World has been open for almost two months, but Florida continues to face the global health crisis. Florida Palm Trees The state was placed under a State of Emergency beginning March 9th. The State of Emergency order has been extended twice since its initial filing and was set to expire tomorrow. Now, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has filed a new executive order to extend the State of Emergency by another 60 days. DeSantis issued the order of extension this morning meaning that the new expiration date for the State of Emergency is November 3rd. This order is subject to change; we may see another extension or we may see an order to let it expire early depending on the health crisis. Florida Florida no longer has any travel restrictions in place from the gubernatorial office, so the state of emergency does not necessarily impact any trips to the state. We will be checking in on this situation often so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates. Click here to learn about the current state of Florida theme parks. No one’s slick as Gaston, no one rides horses like Gaston, no one reopens a restaurant like Gaston! Gaston in Magic Kingdom That’s right! Then, we got some official confirmation that it would be opening on Friday, September 4th. So, of course, we made our way over there today to check it out! After we grabbed our Madame Leota sipper cup this morning in Magic Kingdom(!!), we made our way over to Gaston’s Tavern and saw that it was in fact open! Looks like we weren’t the only ones eagerly awaiting the return of this spot. Gaston’s Tavern There were social distancing markers on the outside indicating where guests should stand. Gaston’s Tavern Social Distancing Markers There were also social distancing markers on the floor and stanchions on the inside of the restaurant to organize the flow of guests in this space. Gaston’s Tavern Guests could check out on the registers to the far left and far right, and there were green dots indicating where they should stand. We also found that there was a new “The Grey Stuff Cupcake.” Gaston’s Tavern Reopening Menu From what we saw, you can only get LeFou’s Brew on its own or in the souvenir stein for now. Well, well, well… it’s been quite the day already at Magic Kingdom’s Sleepy Hollow Refreshments! ICYMI, the highly anticipated Madame Leota Sipper Cup hit the Halloween scene early at this counter service spot. Madame Leota Sipper Cup She wasn’t due to materialize until September 8th — along with lots of other fall snacks and novelty items around Disney World. But, lo and behold, while we lined up anxiously awaiting our new spirited sipper… we found another early autumn arrival here! The Pumpkin-spiced Mickey Waffle Sundae is back at Sleepy Hollow, too! This Magic Kingdom fall snacking tradition adds a bit o’ pumpkin spice to two adorable Mickey Waffles. Pumpkin-spiced Mickey Waffle Sundae sign The waffles are topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, then drizzled with caramel and doused with seasonal sprinkles. Pumpkin-spiced Mickey Waffle Sundae Seriously, check ’em out…. Little ghosties, pumpkins, and bats really lend this treat some extra fall flair! Pumpkin-spiced Mickey Waffle Sundae Now, we couldn’t help but notice a tiny change to this treat from previous years right off the bat (no pun-intended ), with a new serving style in a paper boat (as opposed to a plate). Pumpkin-spiced Mickey Waffle Sundae More importantly, though, we noticed an even bigger difference when we dug into the sundae. You see, in previous years, we always felt like the waffles held a lot of promise… but didn’t tend to deliver the pumpkin-spiced punch we’d hoped for.
