One of the best parts of exploring EPCOT is getting to check out all of the fun and unique merchandise from the different World Showcase pavilions. Japan The Japan pavilion is no exception there! Whether you’re looking for a dried crab snack or some skincare masks that will turn you into a cat, dog, or baby (what?!), there are all kinds of cool items in the Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan pavilion. Recently, we noticed that some of the spooky season spirit had spilled into this store and we spotted some cute characters dressed for Halloween! The Mitsukoshi Department Store is located in the Japan pavilion in EPCOT. It’s full of unique merchandise, candies, and more from Japan. Will you be a cat? Will you be a dog? When we stopped by recently, we found that one of our favorite characters was all dressed up and ready for Halloween. Check out all of this new, fun Hello Kitty Halloween merch! Hello Kitty Halloween Merchandise First, we spotted this adorable glow in the dark Halloween sticker featuring Hello Kitty in her adorable pumpkin costume! You can grab this sticker for $9. Hello Kitty Halloween Merchandise Is that a Hello Kitty ghost we see? These too-cute-to-spook plushes are $11.50 each and come in all kinds of fun fall colors! Hello Kitty Ghost Plushes We also spotted this larger Hello Kitty Halloween Plush for $26. We love all of the spooky elements included in her look, like the pumpkin bow and the bats on her outfit. Hello Kitty Halloween Plush If you want to get a Halloween bow to match, you can get these Hello Kitty Halloween Bows in red or purple for $8.25 each. They’re covered in all kinds of Halloween fun, like jack-o’-lanterns, bats, and spiderwebs! Hello Kitty Halloween Bows We’re not sure if this Halloween wand will successfully grant your wish for ALL the Halloween candy in the world, but at least you’ll look absolutely adorable when you use it as part of your Halloween costume. This wand glows in the dark too — which is really fun. You can get one for $22.50. Hello Kitty Halloween Wand Hello Kitty is dressed as an adorable jack-o’-lantern in these little plushes. They come in different colors with a variety of cute face designs on them. You can get one for yourself for $18. Hello Kitty Halloween Plushes All we can say is…SO CUTE! Although Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort won’t be reopening until next year, Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows are currently open, as are several of the restaurants at the Polynesian. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort One spot that reopened at the Polynesian a few months ago was Pineapple Lanai. When we stopped by today for a Dole Whip treat, we found a speciality Dole Whip Float that comes with…popping candy! If you’re looking for a spot to grab a Dole Whip outside of the parks, you’ve got a couple of options — one of which is Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian. If you walk through the lobby to the outside area in the back, you’ll find this spot. Pinapple Lanai There, you can enjoy some classic Dole whips, as well as some unique Dole whip flavors and Dole whip floats. We’ve spotted lots of different Dole whip items at this spot in the past. Today, we found the Firecracker Dole Whip float there. The float is made of Dole Whip Pineapple Soft Serve with Coconut Rum, Tropical Juices, and Popping Candy. Firecracker Float YUM! Ours didn’t have a huge amount of popping candy, which was okay by us. If you aren’t a big fan of that type of candy, don’t shy away from this float just because of it. Because there was only a small amount on there, we didn’t really have a problem with it at all. It added a nice texture difference and a bit of fun, but wasn’t overwhelming. It reminded us a lot of the Blue Hawaiian Float that had Lime Dole Whip and popping candy. We love the look of this drink with its mix of colors. The blue really pops and gives us some ocean vibes. Firecracker Float They served us the rum separately so we could pour it in ourselves. Firecracker Float Coconut Rum As always, the Dole Whip Soft Serve was light and refreshing. The combination of flavors with the rum and juices and Dole whip all mixed together was really nice! Even if you aren’t a big fan of blue curaçao, you still may really enjoy the flavors of the treat as a whole. It was sweet, but very good! Firecracker Float You can get this float at Pineapple Lanai for $13. We’ll be on the lookout for any more speciality treats and snacks around Disney World, and we’ll let you know what we find so you can add it to your must-try list! As we were getting ready to check out all of the Labor Day happenings in Walt Disney World this morning, we took a little detour to Disney’s BoardWalk. Disney’s BoardWalk And what’s a stroll on the BoardWalk without a visit to the Boardwalk Bakery? We’re always sure to find something tasty to grab no matter when we stop: breakfast, lunch, or dinner. (And the Bakery’s no slouch when it comes to afternoon snacks, either.) We just so happened to spy something new on our early morning visit today… A sign noting “Limited Time! Specialty Donuts” was there to greet us this morning! The sign shines the spotlight on an Old-Fashioned Donut, which we’ve seen in the Bakery previously. But the Apple Fritter was new to us… Specialty Donuts sign … and since it’s already the season for pumpkin spices, autumnal apples, and even more fall flavors around these parts, we figured we’d grab the Fritter for breakfast. Within the display, it’s hard to get a good idea of the Apple Fritter. Apple Fritter in packaging So we’re very happy to share with you this vision of icing goodness as it appears outside of the packaging! Apple Fritter And underneath all that icing? Well, there’s plenty of yummy stuff going on here, too. Apple Fritter Big chunks of apple (and plenty of ’em!) are tucked inside the surprisingly moist fritter, which is almost reminiscent of a spice cake. Apple Fritter It’s a very sweet and buttery pastry, though most of the sweetness stems from the generous amount of icing as opposed to the fritter itself. Find out even MORE ways BoardWalk Bakery has been a BIG HIT this summer! At $3.99, the Apple Fritter is a good-sized treat that’s a flavorful and filling way to start the day! It’s not a cozy Florida fall without scorching temps and intense humidity! Cooling Fan Sale at Animal Kingdom Sure, it’s starting to feel like fall in some areas of the country, but things are still heating up down here in Orlando! We tried to cool down with the ultra-cute Mickey Premium Bar fan and then stocked up on misting fans when they went on sale. Now, we have another option to keep us cool all day long! Disney just released a new (and adorable!) Mickey misting fan to help us out. You gotta see this little guy up-close! Here he is! Isn’t he a cutie pie? Simply fill Mickey up with water then spritz, spray, and let the cooling process begin! Mickey Mouse Fan Mickey comes attached to a lanyard so you can easily access your cooling fan anywhere, any time! The fans are located inside the ball and air cycles through vents in his head and ears. Mickey Mouse Fan These cooling cuties are $28.16 and can be found in many locations throughout Disney World. Okay, Pumpkin Spice lovers, here’s another one for you! We have already shared our review (and adoration) of the Pumpkin Pie Latte and the Mozart Chocolate Cream Pumpkin Spice Liqueur (and more!) in Disney World so far this season. Pumpkin Pie Latte And now, it’s time to talk about another pumpkin-spiced indulgence. The Pumpkin Spice Milk Shake is back in Disney World, my friends! The Pumpkin Spice Milk Shake is available at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Magic Kingdom for $7.99. Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies menu You’ll see it served up alongside the Pumpkin Spice Sundae on the menu… which we just so happen to have already tried! But back to the Milk Shake in question… This mega-cute treat comes topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, sprinkles, and a Mickey-shaped marshmallow straw (which basically means that a HUGE Mickey marshmallow is placed on the festive black-and-white straw). Top of Pumpkin Spice Milk Shake The appearance totally screams Halloween (pun intended ), from the bright orange shake itself to the sprinkles of ghosts, bats, and pumpkins, and right down to that not-so-spooky straw. But does the taste give us that same fall feeling? Pumpkin Spice Milk Shake Well, here’s the thing: it’s a tasty, creamy, ice cold milk shake, and it does offer of some of that pumpkin-spiced flavor flair. But the milk here tends to mute the autumnal spices in this shake, whereas the spices are a LOT more pronounced in the Pumpkin Spice Sundae, which we have really enjoyed once again this year. Throughout Labor Day weekend, we’ve seen Disney parks hit their capacity limits and we even got a first-hand look at the crowds in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom Entrance Today, we made our way over to Magic Kingdom to see what the crowds were like over there. Come along with us on a journey to the Most Magical Place on Earth on a rather busy weekend! As we were heading from the Ticket and Transportation Center over to Magic Kingdom, we noticed some crowds by the entrance… Ticket and Transportation Center …and ticket areas. Ticket and Transportation Center Ticket Sales Area The busses to Magic Kingdom were running, however, so we made our way over there instead of taking the Monorail or Ferry. Ticket and Transportation Center Busses We found that the bus area was very empty! So, if the busses from the Ticket and Transportation Center to Magic Kingdom are running, we’d recommend that you head over there and see if the lines are low. You may find that there are no lines and you’ll be on your way to Peter Pan’s Flight in no time! Ticket and Transportation Center Busses At the entrance to Magic Kingdom, we spotted more crowds, but they were all spread out by the social distancing markers. Magic Kingdom Entrance As we stepped under the train station, there were definitely some crowds around us, but there was also quite a bit of space. Once you hit the central part of Main Street, U.S.A., you could see the crowds get a bit thicker. Once it went past us, we found there was plenty of open space all around! Castle Hub Overall, there were definitely large crowds in certain areas of the parks, but pockets of space or even wide open areas in other parts. Trick or treat? Well, if you’ve been spending any part of the day with us so far, then you know that Halloween snacks have started to take over Magic Kingdom a little early, so we’re calling for TREATS! Headless Horseman Rides Again Although Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was canceled this year, Disney is still providing guests with a whole slew of fall-inspired foods. (For instance, you can check out the treat pictured above — the Headless Horseman Rides Again — right here.) But you simply can’t have fall without pumpkin spice, as far as we’re concerned! So we’re glad to say that Disney has brought back the fun Pumpkin Spice Soft-Serve Sundae to the snacking scene this year. You can find the Pumpkin Spice Soft-Serve Sundae at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Magic Kingdom for $5.49. Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies menu (And don’t you worry… we’ll be taking a look at that Pumpkin Spice Milk Shake soon, too!) This festively fall dessert is served as a sundae topped with whipped cream, caramel, and sprinkles. Pumpkin Spice Sundae It’s look every bit the autumn treat with its vivid orange hue and sprinkles of ghosts, bats, and pumpkins providing some not-so-spooky effects, along with a little added crunch. This is a change from last year when it was served with candy corn instead of whipped cream. That whipped cream is happily plentiful (yum!), but we do miss the flavor and unique texture of the candy corn as an “add-on” quintessential fall sweet. Pumpkin Spice Sundae That said, you really can’t go wrong with the pumpkin spiced soft-serve itself. Pumpkin Spice Sundae It remains a standout, just like last year! Those autumnal spices together with the sweet cream deliver all the fall flavors and vibes… along with delivering some chill from the ice cream while the temps are still soaring! As you might’ve heard, EPCOT’s France Pavilion is getting a pretty big upgrade! France Construction Not only is France going to see an entirely new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction, but the Pavilion will also see the addition of a new quick-service/table-service dining location. La Creperie de Paris is set to serve a selection of yummy crepes in what’s turning into an adorable setting. And now the new spot has a sign! We were soaring over the France construction today during our Skyliner trip to EPCOT when we noticed some added signage outside one of the buildings. Now, La Creperie de Paris has its entrance sign and it looks pretty darn cute. La Creperie de Paris Here’s a close-up shot of the sign! The font is a pretty, curling design that gives us total French romance vibes. La Creperie de Paris Overall, we have to say La Creperie de Paris building is looking pretty snazzy at this point. If you’re headed to Disney World today, you may be in for some serious crowds. During this holiday weekend, we saw Disney parks reach their capacity limits. Magic Kingdom But, if you’re a Haunted Mansion fan, you may find yourself waiting in a line that isn’t even for the attraction itself. Today, we found one of the longest lines in Magic Kingdom…at a quick service restaurant. Lots of new Haunted Mansion merchandise has been released lately. Last week, we were able to get one of the brand new Madame Leota Sipper Cups, and we were incredibly excited!! She lights up and is just the perfect ghostly addition to our Halloween decor. Madame Leota Sipper Cup The line to get one of these sipper cups last week was pretty long and we even joked about starting a Madame Leota fan club with all the people waiting with us. Well, it seems like today is truly the perfect day to recruit more members for our new group — just check out the line we spotted today to get the Madame Leota Sipper Cup! It was incredibly long and wrapped its way all the way from Sleepy Hollow onto the pathway behind the castle toward Fantasyland. If the Haunted Mansion is still looking for volunteers, we have a feeling the ghosts will find some seriously dedicated fans in this group. Haunted Mansion fans, this is THE year for you. Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake For starters, there’s a brand NEW Madame Leota Sipper in Magic Kingdom, there’s also a ton of new pieces of mansion merch around Disney World. On top of that, Disney is bringing back the Hitchhiking Ghosts sippers and buckets AND Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake. The Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake can be found at Liberty Square Market for 6.29. Last year this treat was $7.50, so it’s a little cheaper this year! Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake We LOVED this treat last year and we’re SO happy it’s made a devious return. This is a citrus cake with raspberry Bavarian cream, whipped cream flowers, and a chocolate axe. And while it’s delish, it’s also freakin’ stunning. Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake We took a stab at the mini cake to see just how much bavarian cream and cake we get with this year’s cake serving. The frosting and cake were evenly distributed and tasted super fresh! Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake The citrus cake was absolutely wonderful. The citrus notes weren’t overpowering and gave it a distinct taste without becoming overwhelming. We’re not a big fan of the texture of the glaze, it’s a bit jiggly, so we personally would prefer a different type of icing. Otherwise, if the texture of icing glaze doesn’t bother you, then you won’t even notice it! Inside Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake Overall, the entire dessert was positively lovely and a great throwback to last year’s treats and events. We will continue to keep you posted on all the 2020 Halloween treats, especially since things are a little different with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party being canceled this year. Magic Kingdom will officially welcome fall next week, starting on September 15th with the arrival of fall decorations in the park and MUCH more. But the early arrival of seasonal snacks says to us that it’s pretty much Halloween time in Disney World, so we’ve pulled out our Fall Minnie Ears and some stretchy pants in preparation of all the treat-trying we’re gonna do! Perfect Ears for Fall! It’s true — Disney canceled Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year, but they have still released a HUGE laundry list of treats for the fall and Halloween season. And we’re ready to try Disney’s newest float for the occasion! The Headless Horseman Rides Again can be found at Sunshine Tree Terrace for $10.69. Headless Horseman Rides Again sign Yes, that’s pricey for a soft-serve treat, but here’s why: this snack also comes complete with a Headless Horseman Novelty Straw. Headless Horseman Rides Again You can see him take his fabled midnight ride (atop the Float!) here… While the Headless Horseman Rides Again is technically a new offering for the season, it is very similar to the Redd’s Revenge Float that was also available at Sunshine Tree Terrace a few months back. It’s made with Strawberry DOLE® Whip with Fanta Strawberry. Headless Horseman Rides Again Basically, switch out Redd’s chocolate hat for the Headless Horseman Straw (it LIGHTS UP, y’all!), and you’ve got yourself a Headless Horseman Rides Again! Headless Horseman Rides Again While it’s themed as an autumn treat, the flavors — basically, strawberry on top of strawberry — are about as summery as you can get. As we found with the Redd’s Revenge, the Strawberry Dole Whip plus the addition of the very sweet Strawberry Fanta lend this one a rather artificial strawberry taste. But, hey, some people are really into that candy-like berry flavor, and though we prefer the taste of the classic Pineapple soft serve, and even flavor varieties like Lime, the Strawberry is still a fun option for changing things up. We’ve seen lots of changes recently for spots on Disney’s Boardwalk. Disney’s BoardWalk Some restaurants there recently got added to the Mobile Order feature on the My Disney Experience app, while an entertainment spot on the BoardWalk recently announced that its reopening date would be pushed back indefinitely. When we stopped by Disney’s BoardWalk today, we noticed something else that was new. One spot on the BoardWalk is currently offering a special Labor Day treat! Screen Door General Store is a shop that sells some food, pins, and other items over on Disney’s Boardwalk. The Screendoor General Store When we stopped by today, we noticed a sign advertising a new Labor Day treat — the Labor Day Slush. The slush features layers of Fruit Punch, Lemonade, and Mountain Berry Powerade. It’s very similar to the Goofy’s Glaciers we’ve seen around Disney World before. Labor Day Slush We spotted those slush machines in the back, working their magic. Slush Flavors The slush was cold, sweet, and refreshing! Labor Day Slush It was mostly Fruit Punch though, so we couldn’t taste the Lemonade or Powerade very much. It also melted almost immediately in the Florida heat, and turned almost entirely red from the Fruit Punch. Still, it was really enjoyable, especially on a hot day! Disney Park Pass reservations were implemented when Walt Disney World reopened in July. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge To limit capacity, all guests are required to make a reservation prior to entering the parks. The Annual Passholder reservation category tends to fill up the fastest, especially on holidays and weekends. Weekend reservations for September and October have been filling up quickly. Now, bookings have started to fill up in November. As of right now, Disney’s Hollywood Studios reservations are full for November 1st, 7th, 14th, and the 21st. All other theme parks are currently available for those dates. The holidays tend to be the busiest times to visit Disney World. Park Pass reservations filled up quickly for Halloween and Labor Day Weekend and this may indicate that reservations for Thanksgiving will fill up quickly too. ©Disney Occasionally, Disney will release more Park Passes to accommodate guest demand. Therefore, we may see this park reopen for Annual Passholders on these dates. We’ll continue to check back to see if more reservations become available for any of the aforementioned dates. We’ve SERIOUSLY missed Casey’s Corner and those delicious corn dog nuggets with plastic cheese! Casey’s Corner Right now, Casey’s Corner is still closed, but, when we stopped by Magic Kingdom today, we spotted some changes in the area that could mean this quick service spot is on its way to reopening soon! You’ll find Casey’s Corner, a quick service restaurant that serves mainly hot dogs, corn dogs, and fries, all the way at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. We truly miss the days when we could grab a speciality hot dog or corn dog nuggets from Casey’s, and just sit in the grass in the Magic Kingdom hub to relax and people-watch. Casey’s Corner Corn Dog Nuggets This restaurant did not reopen with the rest of Magic Kingdom, and we have been eagerly awaiting its return for a while now. Last week, we found some corn dog nuggets being served at another Magic Kingdom spot that were really enjoyable, but still — nothing beats a trip to Casey’s (at least for us). Casey’s Corner is Still Closed But, today we spotted something NEW in what used to be the indoor seating area for Casey’s Corner — new social distancing markers on the floor! Casey’s Corner Social Distancing Numbers For reference, here’s our video from August 31st, just a week ago. At that time, there were a few stools in place, but no social distancing markers. Now, you can see social distancing numbers have been placed throughout this area. We’ve seen these at other restaurants around Disney World. Casey’s Corner Social Distancing Numbers We could also see more of these numbers on the floor near the wall that is closer to the actual restaurant. Casey’s Corner Social Distancing Numbers Could this mean we’ll see the return of Casey’s soon? Will this space now serve as a new waiting area or queue to hold guests as they wait for their food? We’re not sure yet, but our stomachs are grumbling at just the thought of getting some delicious items from Casey’s Corner soon! We’ve seen other spots, like Gaston’s Tavern, open up recently in the parks, so we’ll definitely keep an eye on this space to see if we spot any more signs potentially pointing to a reopening in the near future.
