Although the Sprinkles spots at Disney Springs and Downtown Disney are mostly known for its cupcakes (hello, red velvet!), the bakery also bakes up a lot of other goodies, including cookies, brownies, and layer cakes. Sprinkles at Disney Springs Honestly, we could stare at the bakery case at Sprinkles ALL DAY LONG, drooling and trying to decide what to get (everything, please?). And that’s not even including their limited-time cupcake flavors, like the banana split cupcake. But now Sprinkles has decided to tap into our happiest childhood memories because the bakery now has its own version of Dunkaroos called Frost-A-Roos! Will you just look at that?!?! Sprinkles Frost-A-Roos ©Sprinkles Each Frost-A-Roos pack comes with three freshly baked cookies: chocolate chip, double chocolate, and salted oatmeal cornflake. Then there are the frosting shots: cream cheese, dark chocolate, and salty caramel cream cheese. The idea is to dip the cookie in the frosting for some INSTANT YUM. Okay, so maybe they kinda’ stole the idea from us, but we’re totally okay with that! We can’t wait to try out the Frost-A-Roos for ourselves, and we’ll be sure to let you know what we think. See our Sprinkles’ Cupcake ATM review here! Have you tried out the Frost-A-Roos yet? Let us know what you thought in the comments! Now that the live-action Mulan has officially released on Disney+, we’re seeing even more merchandise dedicated to our favorite warrior popping up all over the parks and online. I mean, have you even seen the gorgeous Mulan castle collection? Mulan Preview But we just spotted what might be the coolest piece of Mulan merchandise yet! We were just casually wandering around Downtown Disney, like one does, and, obviously, stopped into World of Disney, as one does. And look what we found! A Mulan Sipper! We weren’t really expecting to see a themed sipper like this since the parks are closed and these kinds of goodies are usually at the parks, but we’re pretty jazzed. It features Mulan in her warrior pose engraved on the front. Mulan Sipper at World of Disney at Downtown Disney The back features some Chinese characters and the Disney Mulan logo. The sipper itself resembles a bamboo stalk. Also, this sipper comes with a handy straw. But Disneyland folks can get their hands on the Mulan Sipper right now for $17.49. Disneyland is looking a little different today. Smoke Above Disneyland As you may know, California is one of 13 states currently battling wildfires that amount to more than 5,300 square miles — about the size of Connecticut. The smoke from these fires has reached Disneyland as the sunny California skies are obscured. We were reporting from Downtown Disney today and noticed that the sky was obstructed by a yellow-hued smoke for much of the day. Per USA Today, more than 90 major fires have been raging in the Western half of the United States. Smoke Above Disney California Adventure It certainly is a dramatic picture to see the smoke starting to obscure the sun over the resort. Smoke Above Downtown Disney Our thoughts are with those impacted by the wildfires. Stay tuned to DFB for updates about the effect this situation has on Disneyland. We haven’t been able to step inside Disneyland Park for quite a few months now. Disneyland Gate We wish Elsa could “tell the guards to open up the gates!” But alas, we’ve only been able to stare longingly at the park from afar for now. On our last visit, however, we noticed something new had been placed near the park’s entrance! We’ve seen some changes made recently that could mean we’re closing to seeing Disneyland reopen, but we still haven’t received any official word in terms of an opening date. As we walked past the park today though — aside from the crazy amount of smoke — we noticed something new. There were new “Health and Safety Reminders” signs posted in front of Disneyland. Disneyland Park The sign notes several activities that should be done for your safety and that of other guests and Cast Members — namely, wearing a face covering, maintaining social distance, washing your hands often, and covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Disneyland Park — Health and Safety Reminders We also saw the same signs were up near Disney California Adventure Park. Disney California Adventure Park They contained the same message as the ones we saw in front of Disneyland. Disney California Adventure Park — Health and Safety Reminders We’ve also seen quite a few of these signs around the Disney World theme parks and hotels since the reopening in Florida. Health and Safety Signage Posted at Disney’s Riviera Resort’s Entrance Does the addition of this new signage indicate that the Disneyland Resort theme parks are one step closer to having guests enter their gates? It’s possible. New Disneyland Resort hotel reservations are currently available for arrivals starting October 1, although reservations have had to be cancelled in the past. California’s Governor has also indicated that negotiations with theme parks are “open ended.” ©Disney We’ll keep stopping by this area to see if we can spot anything new, and we’ll keep an eye out for more Disneyland news and let you know what we find. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park may still be closed, but that hasn’t stopped us from having a fun time over in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District. Downtown Disney! And, while we’ve enjoyed eating at some of our favorite spots in their outdoor seating areas, we’re now starting to get more information about when restaurants in Downtown Disney should be seating guests indoors! Earlier this year, indoor dining was suspended statewide by California’s Governor Newsom in an attempt to mitigate the spread of the pandemic. So, restaurants in California have been restricted to offering outdoor dining for quite some time now. Tortilla Jo’s But, just yesterday, it was also announced that Orange County — the county where Disneyland is located — has advanced to the next reopening tier. According to the city of Anaheim’s reopening website, this means that indoor dining can now be offered at restaurants in the county. Indoor dining is limited, however, to 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is less. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express So, of course, we stopped by some of the restaurants around Downtown Disney to see if they knew if or when they would begin offering indoor dining. First, we made our way to La Brea Bakery Cafe after spotting a post on their Instagram that said indoor dining would now be available in their Downtown Disney cafe. @ La Brea Bakery via Instagram But, when we spoke to the hostess there, she said they were not doing indoor dining yet. The hostess said outdoor seating is still what’s being offered for now. La Brea Bakery We’ll keep checking back here to see if that changes in the future. Over at Naples Ristorante e Bar, the employee we spoke to said that the restaurant should be starting indoor seating on Friday. Napes Ristorante e Bar We then spoke to an employee at Ballast Point Brewing Co. The person we spoke to said they weren’t sure when they’re going to start offering indoor seating, but that it should be either be Friday or Monday. Ballast Point Brewing Co. If you’re looking for some burgers and crazy cool shakes, you’ll definitely want to check out Black Tap. We spoke to someone at Black Tap who said they didn’t know when they’ll start indoor dining. We’ll keep checking back at this spot in the future. Black Tap and Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding Classic Shake ©Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes Over at Tortilla Jo’s we spoke to an employee who said they should be starting to offer indoor dining on Friday. Tortilla Joe’s Finally, we made our way over to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, where an employee told us that they should be offering indoor seating within the next week or so. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen We’ll keep checking in with all of the restaurants around Downtown Disney to see when they start offering indoor dining and what procedures they put in place to maintain social distancing. Earlier this year, Hong Kong Disneyland closed temporarily due to the global pandemic. ©Disney It then reopened in June, only to close again shortly thereafter, in July, due to an increase in Covid-19 cases in the region. Although the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort hotels are open, Hong Kong Disneyland Park remains closed. Now, nearly two months later, we’ve got some signs that may point to another reopening of Hong Kong Disneyland coming in the near future. According to Variety, Hong Kong Disneyland may be able to reopen soon due to “reduced social distancing restrictions” recently announced by the territory’s government. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Variety notes that local sources report that Hong Kong Disneyland may be allowed to reopen as soon as September 18th! Currently, the Hong Kong Disneyland website still notes that the park is temporarily closed until further notice, but we will keep checking back to see if the website gets updated. Hong Kong Disneyland Website Screenshot Reportedly, the territory’s government “was encouraging but vague on the point.” In an statement issued by the government, they noted, “Unless the epidemic situation takes a sudden downturn, the Government expects to issue new directions in the next phase to re-open catering and scheduled premises (including theme parks, exhibition venues, swimming pools, bathhouses, party rooms, bars and pubs, karaoke establishments, clubs or nightclubs, etc.) which we have not been able to re-open due to the higher infection risk.” Tomorrowland in Hong Kong Disneyland As part of the “reduced social distancing restrictions” recently announced by the territory’s government, the ban on public groups of more than two people will end, and in its place there will be a maximum limit of four people per public group. ©Disney Additionally, Variety reports that a maximum of four people will be able to sit together at one table in catering premises, and some sports premises and entertainment premises will reopen. Hong Kong Disneyland According to Variety, on Tuesday, Hong Kong reported just six new COVID-19 infections. These reduced social distancing measures and lower levels of COVID-19 infections could mean that Hong Kong Disneyland will be reopening very soon. We’ll keep our eyes open for more news on this and let you know what we find. ©Disney This year also marks the 15th Anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland. September 12th, to be specific, is its 15th Anniversary. To celebrate, a special Hong Kong Disneyland 15th Anniversary Tote Bag with Special Edition Pin Combo is now available to purchase online at the Hong Kong Disneyland Website. © Hong Kong Disneyland This can be purchased for HK$189, or $24.39USD. But, you’ll need to redeem the combo by presenting the order confirmation in the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel. So, if you aren’t headed to Hong Kong Disneyland anytime soon, it appears this is something you won’t be able to snag for now. The Force will soon be flowing once again inside Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. Beginning Sept. 20, the Gatherers will invite you into this mysterious shop in Black Spire Outpost to train you in the ways of constructing a lightsaber. Savi’s Workshop is packed with unusual parts and whimsical pieces collected from the far reaches of the galaxy. Under the mystical Gatherers’ guidance, you construct a one-of-a-kind lightsaber and bring it to life through the power of a kyber crystal. You can build your lightsaber along one of the following themes: Peace and Justice – Utilize salvaged scraps of fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in Republic-era lightsaber designs that honor the galaxy’s former guardians.Power and Control – Originally forged by warriors from the dark side, objects used in this lightsaber style are rumored remnants from the Sith home world and abandoned temples.Elemental Nature – Craft a lightsaber from special components born from the Force, such as Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones or Rancor teeth.Protection and Defense – Incorporate hilt materials bearing mysterious motifs and inscriptions that reconnect a lightsaber’s wielder with the ancient wellspring of the Force. For those who may have visited the shop in the past, you’ll notice the experience will be slightly adjusted. For instance, capacity will be reduced to allow for physical distancing between guests in accordance with the park’s guidelines during its phased reopening. Advanced reservations (highly recommended) for Savi’s Workshop will open Sept. 16 via Disneyworld.com or the My Disney Experience mobile app; you can also stop by the shop to check for walk-up availability on the day of your visit. You must have a valid Disney Parks Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios prior to making a reservation for Savi’s Workshop. View the full article
