It’s one BUSY day in EPCOT because everyone wants a taste of those Food and Wine goodies (us included). Japan If you want to visit the most booths possible during the festival, EPCOT has specific locations only open on the weekends for guests to visit. While you can head over to Block and Hans or Spain during your Saturday trip to the park, a few NEW spots have popped up in EPCOT today! We’ve been big fans of that amazing Frothy Ramen ever since the Japan booth opened for guests at the start of the Food and Wine Festival. But, today, the food booth re-opened its additional outside sake bar (!!!) for visitors to sip and savor treats when they’re in the World Showcase. During our last few visits to the park, the bar hadn’t been open (so we were pretty hyped to see it again). Japan Menu Along with the menu out front, Japan also has menus hanging on the inside of the booth for easy viewing before ordering. Many of the menu items are still the same, but the Samurai Sencha Ale has just arrived to go along with the sake bar’s opening! Japan Menu Since we love you guys (and because we won’t pass up a good Disney ale), we decided to try the Samurai Sencha Ale for ourselves as we strolled around EPCOT! Samurai Sencha Ale The Florida weather can be a bit tricky to predict sometimes, but the Samurai Sencha Ale would be a GREAT beer to have during a sunny day in Disney World! Samurai Sencha Ale Although we couldn’t pick up any hints of extra flavor, the ale was light and refreshing. The smoothness made it a drink that we could honestly have over and over again during a long walk around the World Showcase. Samurai Sencha Ale After sipping on something as cool as the Samurai Sencha Ale, you can also head over to the re-opened popcorn cart in Future World for somethin’ a little savory or sweet with popcorn and ice cream! Popcorn Cart The Future World location not only has Mickey Bars and fresh, buttery popcorn… Popcorn Cart …but you can also snag the returning Halloween Popcorn Buckets in the parks! Disney World has really been upping its churro game recently, and one spot we can always count on for some new and exciting flavors is Sunshine Churros at Disney Springs. Sunshine Churros And Sunshine Churros added three new flavors today, including one we have been eagerly waiting for the return of! Before the closure of the parks, we tried the mega delicious Thin Mint Churro. But then the parks closed, and when they re-opened, IT WAS GONE! THE HORROR! Thin Mint Churros from Sunshine Churros at Disney Springs Well, baby, it’s back! So of course, we tried it (again)! This time, we still thought it was pretty good, and it was super minty, thanks to the mint icing. It really did taste like a Thin Mint or Peppermint Patty! Thin Mint Churro from Sunshine Churros But there are two other new churro flavors, too! The first we nommed on was the Strawberry Cheesecake Churro. It tasted like strawberry and frosting, and really, what more could you want? Strawberry Cheesecake Churro from Sunshine Churros But there was one more churro to try, and this one made us really happy because it was PUMPKIN SPICE! The Pumpkin Spice Churro has made its glorious return! Out of the three, this one had to be our favorite! Without icing, you can really taste the autumnal spices, buut the icing really makes it even better! Now that Fall is here, we’re ready to have a BIG glass of spiced wine as we binge-watch the Halloweentown series on Disney+ (with pumpkin spice snacks, of course). We Found TWO New Pairs of Ears! Although Hong Kong Disneyland is currently closed (after a brief reopening) due to the global health crisis, it still has BIG plans to celebrate its 15th birthday. Florida weather is notoriously finicky. Thunderstorms and rain can happy at any time, even at Disney World, but that doesn’t mean an end to the fun! Magic Kingdom In fact, a rainy day at Disney World can be one of the best times ever! Not only does the rain occasionally clear out crowds from the parks, but it also brings its own fun events, like the Rainy Day Cavalcades! So grab your umbrella (or raincoat), because we spotted the Rainy Day version of one of the Fantasyland Character Cavalcades at Magic Kingdom! If you’ve never witnessed a rainy version of a parade in Magic Kingdom, let us explain. To help shelter characters from the elements, they typically hitch a ride in one of the Main Street Transportation Vehicles! The cavalcade started by becoming curiouser and curiouser as Alice waved to guests from one of Main Street, U.S.A.’s double-decker buses. Rainy Day Cavalcade with Alice at Magic Kingdom Alice was joined by that silly old bear Pooh, Tigger, Peter Pan, and Prince Ali! Rainy Day Cavalcade with Pooh, Tigger, and Prince Ali at Magic Kingdom But NO ONE does a Rainy Day Cavalcade like this guy. It’s GASTON, who is ALWAYS a guest favorite at the parks (well, he is, if you ask HIM). Rainy Day Cavalcade with Gaston at Magic Kingdom The Rainy Day Cavalcades are LOADS of fun, and we’ve been able to see a few of them now, including one with all the princesses! It’s one of the times when we’re perfectly happy to get caught in the rain at Disney World! Soon, Disney fans in the southern California area will have the opportunity to check out an exhibit that explores the history of the company! Bowers Museum Following a monthslong closure, the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California will be reopening on Saturday, September 12th. Prior to the closure, the museum had recently debuted the exhibit Inside the Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic. This exhibit features over 400 pieces, including artwork, toys, movie memorabilia, and MORE! Walt’s Desk And while this exhibit was originally scheduled to run through August 30th, Disney fans haven’t missed their window of opportunity — the Bowers Museum has extended the Walt Disney Archives exhibit through February 28th, 2021! Haunted Mansion’s Hitch-hiking Ghosts After February 28th, the exhibit will begin its world tour, so Disney fans have several months to check it out while it’s still at the Bowers Museum! Tickets are available for $20-$25 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-11 and limited quantities will be available to allow for social distancing. Movie Memorabilia Additional safety precautions will be enforced when the museum is reopened — guests may enter through the Main Street entrance only, and temperature checks, face masks, and social distancing are required. If you have plans to travel to Disney World later this year, we have some important updates you’ll want to see! Cinderella Castle On September 8th, the operating hours at all four Disney World parks were reduced. And when the November calendar was revealed, it appeared that these shortened hours would continue. But now, Disney has updated the hours for several of the parks beginning in November! First up, the hours at Magic Kingdom will be extended from 9AM-6PM to 9AM-7PM beginning on November 6th. Magic Kingdom November 2020 Park Hours The park hours at EPCOT are shifting from 11AM-7PM to 12PM-8PM beginning November 27th. EPCOT November 2020 Park Hours Currently, the hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are listed as the same current operating hours of 10AM-7PM. Disney’s Hollywood Studios November 2020 Park Hours The hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom are also the same as the current operating hours of 9AM-5PM. While strolling through the Disney World parks, guests will periodically hear overhead announcements reminding them about the face mask policy. New Disney Halloween Face Mask at Hollywood Studios While the announcements have been happening since the parks reopened, we have noticed a few tweaks to the specific messages to add additional clarification regarding the face mask policy. And today, we heard ANOTHER new version of the face mask overhead announcement! We were making our way through Animal Kingdom today when the familiar overhead announcement routine began. But this time, we noticed something extra included in the message! Tree of Life At the beginning of the overhead message, guests are reminded that face coverings must fully cover your nose and mouth, and be worn at all times except while actively eating or drinking while stationary. This is the first time we’ve heard the reminder that face coverings must fully cover the nose and mouth as part of the overhead announcement since previous versions began by stating that they must be worn at all times. The face covering policy has required guests to wear masks over their nose and mouth since the reopening of Disney World, so this isn’t an update in the policy itself — just an additional clarification in the overhead announcement! Here’s our list of the 10 best snacks you can still get in Disney World! 1 — Ronto Wrap Looking for a quick, savory, and satisfying treat during your intergalactic trip to Batuu? Then you’ll definitely be happy to hear that the Ronto Wrap is still available at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Ronto Wraps are made of Roasted Pork, Grilled Pork Sausage, Peppercorn Sauce, and Tangy Slaw wrapped in Pita Bread. Ronto Wrap in Disney World It’s got an amazing mix of flavors! Grab a few for your family so you don’t have to share — you’ll definitely want one of these all to yourself! Want to make your own Ronto Wrap at home? You can now with this recipe! 2 — Dole Whip Over on the sweeter side, Dole Whips are still available all OVER Disney World, including at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, Marketplace Snacks in Disney Springs, Pineapple Lanai in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Refreshment Port in EPCOT! Dole Whip! If you’ve never had a classic Dole Whip before, it’s a refreshing pineapple soft serve. We’ve also spotted lots of unique Dole Whip floats popping up around Disney World. Kakamora Float So, keep your eyes open for all kinds of fun Dole Whip treats! 3 — Bubble Waffles In Disney Springs, some of our favorite snacks are also still available — like the Bubble Waffles at AristoCrepes. You can also get a Salted Caramel or Strawberry version of this delicious treat. Salted Caramel Bubble Waffle These are waffles uniquely shaped to look like bubbles, and are then filled with ice cream and delicious toppings! Bubble Waffle AristoCrepes has pretty limited hours though, so be sure to check on the My Disney Experience app before making your way out there to make sure they’ll be open. 4 — Corn Dog Nuggets Okay, so the mini corn dogs from Casey’s Corner are definitely one of our favorite snacks, and we miss them desperately, but we recently found a pretty good substitution that can hold you over until Casey’s reopens. You can get some really good Mini Corn Dogs over at Westward Ho in Magic Kingdom. Corn Dog Nuggets from Westward Ho We missed the fries and plastic cheese from Casey’s, but overall, these were really good! They’re definitely worth a try if you’re craving corn dogs in Magic Kingdom. Westward Ho may not always be open though, so be sure to check if they’re open before getting too excited for those mini corn dogs! 5 — Caramel Popcorn Although the Disney Cultural Exchange Program has been temporarily suspended, Karamell-Küche is open in the Germany pavilion in EPCOT and still serving up some of our favorite treats. While the offerings have been reduced somewhat, they are still serving that freshly made Caramel Popcorn. Doesn’t That Look AMAZING? It’s an absolute delight! If you’re a fan of caramel and popcorn and you haven’t tried this before, be sure to stop by there on your next trip — even if it’s just take in that incredible caramel smell that fills the whole store. Want to make some at home? Follow this step-by-step recipe! 6 — Fuzzy Tauntaun We’re headed back to Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for this next treat — the Fuzzy Tauntaun. The snack is made of a fluffy sweet roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut, and right now comes topped with a white chocolate Olaf. Over at Satu’li Canteen, in Pandora — The World of Avatar, the Cheeseburger Steamed Pods are still on the menu. Cheeseburger Pods For a while, these beauties were taken off the adult menu, but they’ve now returned to the adult menu (and are still available on the kids ‘ menu as well if you want a smaller portion). If you want a delicious drink to pair with your snack, you can still hop over to Pongu Pongu in Pandora — The World of Avatar to grab a Night Blossom. It’s a non-alcoholic drink that features a mix of Limeade with apple and desert pear flavors topped off with passion fruit flavor boba balls — these in passion fruit flavor! Night Blossom It’s colorful, refreshing, and very tasty! 9 — Cinnamon Rolls and LeFou’s Brew Gaston’s Tavern just recently reopened in Magic Kingdom to its adoring fans. Thankfully, two great items were still on the menu — the GIANT Cinnamon Rolls… Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern …and LeFou’s Brew. LeFou’s Brew Fans of these treats can now make their way over to new Fantasyland to grab them, along with some new specialty treats also being offered at this spot. 10 — Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich In Magic Kingdom, fans of the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich will be happy to know that they can still get this delicious treat over at Sleepy Hollow. If you’ve never tried this before, this sandwich features a deep-fried battered chicken breast, ladled with a sweet and spicy sauce, and topped with a crunchy, creamy slaw all nestled in a freshly-made waffle.
