  10. Although Tokyo Disneyland’s “The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” attraction was initially set to open in April, the global health crisis shut down the theme parks and delayed construction on the ride. Tokyo Disney Resort However, now that Tokyo Disneyland has reopened, the attraction is set to open its doors on September 28th. And thanks to Attractions Magazine and Disneyphile, we now have a ride-through video of the attraction! The video of “The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” shows just how jaw-dropping the attraction really is! The animatronics are BLOWING OUR MINDS, and we recommend viewing the video all the way to the end, because Belle and the Prince dancing look so real that you might swear those are real people! But the whole attraction is just AMAZING. How incredible does that look? Now we’re jealous that this ride is exclusive to Tokyo! The new Tokyo Disneyland expansion also includes Beast’s castle. Beauty and the Beast Attraction at Tokyo Disneyland ©Tokyo Other attractions set to open on September 28th include The Happy Ride with Baymax, The Big Pop, and Minnie’s Style Studio. A show, “Mickey’s Magical Music World” is set to open later. Although Tokyo Disney Resort still has health and safety guidelines in place, the park also recently resumed nightly fireworks and parades. Tokyo Disneyland ©Disney There’s a lot going on at the Tokyo parks. In addition, Tokyo Disneyland also recently resumed character meet and greets! These meet and greets, however, do require guests to use an “entry request” system“ through the Tokyo Disney Resort App. Tokyo Disney Resort Donald Duck Walt Disney World hasn’t yet reinstated character meet and greets, but guests do get to watch a lot of fun character cavalcades (including Halloween cavalcades at Magic Kingdom!). We’re excited about seeing all the new stuff coming to Tokyo Disney Resort, and this one is simply as breathtaking as the “tale as old as time” it’s based on. We’ll keep you updated on any other stuff that pops up at Tokyo Disney Resort! 13. A few weeks ago, I shared a photo I’d just taken of Cinderella Castle with my friend Zach Riddley from Walt Disney Imagineering. You may have seen it on his Instagram page, and I thought you might enjoy learning a bit more about how I captured this cool image. I was in Magic Kingdom Park early one morning before dawn. My official project that day was to take photos of Cinderella Castle’s new royal color scheme at sunrise. It’s so much easier these days to set up for these types of shots, since I have an app on my phone that tells me exactly where the sun will break the horizon; I used to have to look it up ahead of time and draw a line on a map to figure out approximately where to stand. Now I just show up and turn on my phone…magic! My app that morning told me the ideal location would be somewhere along the bridge that heads into Liberty Square. As I was walking along the bridge searching for my specific spot, I happened to look down and see the castle reflected just perfectly in the water of its moat, with an amazing pre-dawn sky behind it. We call this the “magic hour,” when the sky just starts to brighten but before full sunlight – it only lasts for a few minutes each day. Even though I wasn’t at the park for this particular shot, the opportunity was just too great to pass up. The water was so still that morning, though, I knew if I took the photo as-is, you may not be able to tell it was actually a reflection. I needed to find something I could toss in the water to make it ripple, and managed to scavenge just three acorns from under the oak trees that line the bridge. On my third and last toss, the acorn landed in the exact position I wanted and I snapped the photo you see here. OK, well…not exactly the photo you see here. Because it’s a reflection, I wanted to pull a little trick and make the castle appear to be “right side up,” as if you were looking at it for real. So I flipped the image horizontally and then rotated it 180 degrees. That’s why the little patch of green in the lower right may confuse you – that’s the grassy lawn on the edge of the moat. Turn the photo upside down again and it will all make sense! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/DisneyParks/~4/87OfLv1VeYEView the full article

  18. We’ve had all kinds of spooky snacks in the parks in Disney World! Witch’s Brew But, Halloween treats are making their way over to the Disney Resort hotels as well. Today, we found some seasonal drink offerings over at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and you know we HAD to taste one of them! At Disney’s Old Key West Resort, you’ll find a cozy little lounge called The Gurgling Suitcase where you can order a number of drinks and even some fun snacks like Conch Fritters and the Duval Street Burger. The Gurgling Suitcase When we stopped by today, we noticed that there were 2 seasonal drinks available as part of their “Flavors of Fall” offerings. Flavors of Fall Menu You can get one of these drinks for $13 on their own, or you can get it as a drink for two in a GIANT, red souvenir cup for $22. Flavors of Fall Menu First, there’s the CranOrange Margarita which is made with El Jimador Tequila, Bols Blackberry Brandy, Orange Juice, and Cranberry. We decided, however, to try the other seasonal drink — the Harvest Refresher — which features Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Cranberry Juice, and Muddled Oranges. Harvest Refresher When they say drink for two, they aren’t kidding! We really had a hard time holding up this drink — it was heavy! Harvest Refresher But, let’s get to the taste! We thought this seasonal drink was delicious! You can definitely taste the muddled oranges the most, and they give the drink a really fresh taste. Harvest Refresher The cranberry flavor is lighter, but is still a great addition to the drink. We also liked that the drink wasn’t too sweet. It was refreshing and had a great balance of flavors. Overall, we were really pleased with this seasonal offering! Harvest Refresher We’re keeping our eyes open for more seasonal food and drink items all over Disney World, so be sure to come back for all the latest Disney news! Disney California Adventure Park Just last week, we spotted some new park reservation signs and a potential walkway at Disneyland Resort, and we’ve seen some health and safety signs outside of the parks as well. Today, we spotted even more additions that show we’re one step closer to Disneyland reopening. First — we spotted some social distancing and health and safety signs. They’re a bit difficult to see clearly in this first photo, but from just outside of the gates at Disney California Adventure park, you can see a few social distancing signs that have been placed on the lampposts and other areas. Disney California Adventure Exit Gate When we zoomed in, we could pick out the signs more clearly. There are some signs in the planters reminding guests to remain 6 feet apart, and some more general health and safety signs like the ones we saw outside of the park previously, that remind guests to wear their masks, maintain social distancing, and more. Disney California Adventure Park Social Distancing Signs Toward the other side of the street — over by Los Feliz Five & Dime — we could see more signs. Disney California Adventure Exit Gate These were, again, those Health & Safety Reminders. The “Enter Here” sign by the door to the shop, which we saw a few days ago, was also still up. Disney California Adventure Park We also saw some more signs in the planters regarding social distancing. Disney California Adventure Park Health & Safety Signs We also spotted some similar signs on the lampposts inside Disneyland Park. Second — outside of Disneyland Park, over toward the right hand side, we found 2 “rows” of social distancing markers leading to the park. Disneyland Park Social Distancing Markers We were SO incredibly excited when we spotted these! Disneyland Park Social Distancing Markers These really show us that Disneyland is seriously and actively working on getting everything in place so that they can be ready for guests to enter as soon as they are allowed to reopen. Disneyland Park Social Distancing Markers Recently, Disney executives have made a strong case for Disneyland to reopen soon, and a trade association leader representing Disneyland and others has also called on the California governor to open theme parks. We’re keeping our eyes open for more news regarding Disneyland Resort’s reopening, and we’ll definitely keep you informed of any updates. 23. We’re major foodies, you know this, so we’re in the loop when it comes to Disney World food festivals. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday Unfortunately, this year’s Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic was canceled due to the global health crisis. In its place, the Swan and Dolphin Resort in Disney World is hosting Sip, Savor, & Stay Saturdays, inspired by the canceled fest. Well, we spent an evening at the event and we have our REVIEW! Let’s start with a little extra info about these events. You can attend a Sip, Savor, & Stay Saturday every Saturday evening from now through October 24th. These events are available exclusively as part of an overnight package and each weekend offers a new theme! Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday Most weekends, packages start at $295 including a one-night stay and two event tickets. Events are limited to guests 21 and older, and limited tickets are available for each date. If you want to snag your spot for one of these themed tastings, call 1-888-828-8850 to reserve your tickets. Screenshot from the Swan and Dolphin Website We attended on September 19th for the Bubble Lounge evening described as, “A lounge experience showcasing the finest in sparkling beverages with perfectly paired small bites to complete the experience. Taste the base varietals of traditional Champagne along with various sparkling wine styles from around the world.” We were intrigued. Arrival and Set-up When we arrived at our Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday, we were directed to the Swan Ballroom. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday All attendees are required to get their temperature checked. Once you pass, you get a small sticker to wear. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday When you check-in, you’re given a wristband (ours were pink!) and a table marker with your last name on it. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday The event started at 5:30PM but check-in began at 5PM. We recommend ALWAYS checking in as soon as you can so that you get your money’s worth! In the waiting area, each guest was offered a little mix of gelatin, gin, and lemon juice. These were so good we had to stop ourselves from asking for another! The combo kinda reminded us of a smoother limoncello. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday When the event started, we went on into the ballroom which was decorated with fun lights and cute balloons. Get it? For the Bubble Lounge theme? Once inside, you take your marker to a table and that table becomes yours for the evening. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday We noticed that there were servers throughout the space that were designated for clearing plates and glassware. The room was also filled with different stations, some for food, and some for drinks. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday Every station had a bottle of hand-sanitizer which we appreciated. We would still recommend bringing your own small bottle to keep at your actual table though! Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday All of the stations had a plexiglass guard set up between guests and servers. Food was handed to guests underneath the plexiglass — kind of like how they hand off food in quick service locations in the parks! Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday But enough about the room, let’s look at that menu! Menu Alright, so the menu let us know what is available at each station. There were four food stations… Menu …and six drink stations! Looks pretty tasty, doesn’t it? Menu Let’s talk a little bit about how tasty the food was! Food Reviews We started off with the Buttered Popcorn with Sea Salt from Station 1. This was a favorite of ours. It was super simple, but it paired really well with all of the bubbly wine we were having. The kernels were light and salty — not greasy at all! Buttered Popcorn Station 1 also had the Deviled Eggs, one Traditional and one with Caviar. We’re not the biggest fans of caviar, but the helping was small enough that we didn’t seem to notice. We think it might not be enough caviar if you’re a big caviar person, but folks like us can still enjoy these eggs! Deviled Eggs Next up, let’s talk about the Crispy Duck Confit with Frisee lettuce, duck rat dressing, and soft herbs. This was another favorite of ours! The duck was very, very crispy and the duck fat dressing was killer (so much so that we asked for a second helping!). We loved the greens too, especially the arugula which added some pepper. Duck We swooned when we saw the Baked House-made Ricotta Cheese with toasted pine nuts and onion puree. Such a unique eat! The cheese itself was creamy, soft, and all-around amazing. IMO, we would’ve liked it without the toppings because we didn’t think it added anything to the dish. Ricotta Cheese Alright, we’ve had several favorites but this is our ABSOLUTE favorite — the Charred Prime Angus Beef Tri-Tip with pomme puree and sauce gribiche. This was insanely tender; like, they didn’t have knives out and they weren’t even needed. The puree was super buttery and creamy. We won’t say how many times we revisited this station, but it was a lot. Beef And finally, we’ve got the Pan Roasted Sea Scallops with smoked bacon, aged Carnaroli, green pea, and “egg sauce.” We noticed that folks around the room were loving these little dishes. The pork belly was so crispy and fatty. Overall, it came together wonderfully. Sea Scallops Drink Reviews Of course, an even called Bubble Lounge is definitely going to have some serious drink options. There were stations for Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, Cremant, Sparkling Wine, and Champagne Cocktails. The employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. You could tell them what flavors you prefer and they would point you in the right direction. Beverages We had two favorites! The first was one of the Champagne Cocktails, the Hummingbird. This drink was made with Veuve de Vernay Brut, St. Germain, soda water, and a lemon twist. The way the flavors came together was just delightful. Hummingbird Our second favorite was the Domaine Chandon Rose which was just a super tasty sip. Rose There were so many options, it wouldn’t be hard for anyone to find some favorites! Overall Overall, we had SO MUCH FUN. This was a really fun and safe way to enjoy an event. They took the necessary steps to make sure that those attending could enjoy themselves while having fun. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday We ate a LOT because their food is so spectacular. We really just wished we could’ve had something sweet for dessert, but otherwise, we have no complaints! Plus, they had live music playing during the event which was a real treat. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday We can definitely recommend this event to anyone looking for a wonderful evening. The price is super reasonable at under $300 for a night in the hotel and dinner and drinks for two. We’d even do it again! Whether you’re traveling in for an evening or even if you’re a local, Sip, Savor, & Stay Saturdays is a great addition to your weekend plans. Sip, Savor & Stay Saturday The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort has really knocked it out of the park with this one. We were so pleased with our evening and it felt GREAT to get back to a foodie event. We hope this helped you decide whether to head to this event or not! ‘Til next time!
