  1. After a long Disney World vacation, checking out of your Disney hotel isn’t exactly the highlight of your trip. However, with this tip, it doesn’t have to be a problem, either. Front Desk at Art of Animation Checking out of your hotel can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be! It’s true that Disney World’s policy can get convoluted — surprisingly — due to automatic checkout that doesn’t require a trip to the front desk. With that said, there is one tip that should help you avoid any issues. Per Disney, “If you have a credit card on file — or you have a zero-dollar balance –it’s easy to check out of your room, with no need to stop by the Front Desk! You can enjoy streamlined checkout through the My Disney Experience app. Just open the app menu and select ‘Hotel Reservations’. Then select ‘View Charges’ to begin checking out. If you forget — no worries, you’ll be automatically checked out at our checkout time, 11:00 AM.” Check Out Feature ©Disney Some guests have reported that they have found themselves automatically checked out and locked out of their rooms EARLIER than the 11 AM cutoff, unfortunately. If the location services built into the app tracks you away from the hotel — like at one of the theme parks — on your final day, there is a possibility automatic checkout can be triggered. That means you could be left locked out of your room and away from your belongings, potentially. Port Orleans Riverside Room The solution? Plan ahead if you plan to still have a day at Disney World during your checkout window. If you intend on grabbing breakfast away from your hotel or visiting the Disney Parks, their is one important thing you can do to protect yourself from any digital errors. Breakfast at Boma Aside from limiting yourself to breakfast at your hotel, you can also drop your bags off with Luggage Services! By doing this, you set yourself up for success. If your room DOES lock you out, it really doesn’t matter, since your belongings will be protected by Disney. And by checking your bags with Luggage Services, you give yourself the chance to spend an entire day still exploring Disney World. No hotel room — no problem! The luggage assistance desk! 2. I’m here to spill the best Lightning Lane strategy for EPCOT, so listen up! Journey Into Imagination with Figment Lightning Lane This park tends to get a little controversial when it comes to Lightning Lanes, with some people saying you need them to have a successful day and others disagreeing vehemently. We’ve tested the system in this park countless times, and we’re here to tell you the TRUTH. Do You Need Lightning Lanes for EPCOT? Before we start diving into the intricacies of using Lightning Lanes in EPCOT, I’m going to answer the age-old question: Do you actually need to use Lightning Lanes in this park? Honestly, maybe not. It’s not home to as many rides as Magic Kingdom, so there are fewer things to wait in line for in a day, and its rides tend to have shorter waits overall than those at Hollywood Studios. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Really, whether or not you choose to purchase Lightning Lanes for this park depends on your budget and how busy EPCOT is projected to be when you visit. If you’re traveling during Spring Break, a holiday week, a holiday weekend, or during a runDisney race, it might be a good idea to splurge. Otherwise, it’s typically possible to accomplish everything you’d like to do in EPCOT without Lightning Lanes…as long as you have a strategy. The 2 Disney World Lightning Lane Hacks That Work Every Time Lightning Lane Multi Pass Starting out with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, this is a per-person, per-day price you pay to access all of the Lightning Lanes in the park, save for one (more on that in a minute). If you go with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you’ll typically pay somewhere from $19-$37 per person, per day (pre-tax) to access this service. Test Track Lightning Lane Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections can be booked 7 days in advance of your trip if you’re staying at a Disney World Resort, and 3 days in advance of your visit if you’re staying off property. When you book initially, you can select up to three attractions, and you’ll choose a specific return time to use the Lightning Lane. The available attractions are split into two tiers — Tier 1 and Tier 2. Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival After you use a Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection in the park, you can then book another one to replace it, holding up to 3 reservations at a time all day. You can use Multi Pass at each attraction once per day. To get the most out of this system, you’ll want to be continually booking new Lightning Lanes on the day of your visit to replace those that you use. See the Guide to Lightning Lane Multi Pass Here! Tier One Attractions In EPCOT, the Tier 1 attractions include Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track. When making your initial Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections before your visit to the parks, you’ll only be able to reserve ONE Lightning Lane from this group. After you scan into your first Lightning Lane of the day, the tiers will no longer matter for booking additional selections. Lightning Lane at EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After For these three rides, let’s break down each one as a Tier 1 option to see which you should book. Frozen Ever After is a great selection for families with small kids or those who are big Frozen fans. The line here can get pretty long and stay long all day, though it tends to drop toward the end of the night. Frozen Ever After at EPCOT Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure tends to be the Lightning Lane that books up the fastest at this park, but it’s also a very easy option to rope drop if you’re staying at one of the EPCOT area or Skyliner Resorts, since you’ll enter through the back of the park near the France Pavilion. If you’re staying off property or you’re coming in the park’s front entrance, you’ll probably not be among the first group to rope drop this ride, and therefore, it would be a good Lightning Lane choice. It’s often in the top 3 longest wait times in the park, but it does offer a single rider queue as an alternate waiting option. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Finally, Test Track is a good choice for thrill seekers, and it tends to book up quickly since the ride got a major overhaul in 2025. This ride isn’t the most popular choice for rope dropping, since people flock more to Remy’s and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, but it holds a steady wait throughout the day. The main thing going against this one as a Lightning Lane choice is the fact that it offers a single rider queue. If you’re fine with splitting up your party, that line can be a very effective way to cut your wait short. Outdoor section What about the Tier 2 selections? Tier Two Attractions The other attractions available through Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and thus, in Tier 2 at EPCOT, are: Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival Journey into Imagination with Figment Living with the Land Mission: SPACE The Seas with Nemo & Friends Soarin’ Around the World Spaceship Earth Turtle Talk with Crush Journey Into Imagination with Figment Of this group, the obvious choices for initial selections to go with your Tier 1 choice are Mission: SPACE and Soarin’ Around the World (or Soarin’ Across America, whichever version it is at the moment). Those are the two attractions of the bunch that get the longest wait times. Mission: SPACE Now, if you have small children or aren’t interested in those two attractions, our second-round picks from this group would be Living with the Land, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Spaceship Earth. Each of these rides often hits 20-minute waits during the day and can get longer during the busiest hours. Spaceship Earth The other attractions on this list should really only be booked if you’ve used everything else or don’t have any other options left to book. They typically all have 10-minute or shorter waits. See Lightning Lane Tips From Former Cast Members Here! Lightning Lane Single Pass Moving on to the next Lightning Lane option, we have Lightning Lane Single Pass. This is available at all four parks, and is an offering where you can purchase Lightning Lane access for a single attraction. Single Pass is only offered for Disney World’s most popular rides, and at EPCOT, the Single Pass option is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Tap Point for Lightning Lane entrance for Cosmic Rewind Typically, the Single Pass for Guardians costs $19-$22 per person, per day (also, pre-tax). You can book this 7 days before your trip if you’re staying on Disney World property, or 3 days in advance of your visit if you’re staying off-site. You’ll be able to choose your return time when you purchase, though you’re limited by availability. This Single Pass often sells out on popular days. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind If you’re a thrill-seeker, this Single Pass can be VERY worth it. The wait time for this ride is almost always over an hour, and it can get even longer on crowded days. The Full Guide to Lightning Lane Single Pass in Disney World! Lightning Lane Premier Pass The BIG Lightning Lane option for EPCOT is Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This offering includes access to every Lightning Lane in the park (all the Multi Pass attractions and the Single Pass attraction) for one price. It also doesn’t require you to make any time slot reservations on your phone. Test Track The downside? This service is PRICEY. It can cost anywhere from $169-$249 per person, per day (pre-tax). Like the other services, you book 7 days ahead of time if you’re staying on property and 3 days ahead of time if you’re staying off-property. It can sell out on particularly busy days, but it’s definitely a luxury service. The Seas with Nemo and Friends This is a service designed for people who don’t want to reserve return times for rides, and who don’t want to be on their phones all day. With this, you simply walk up to a ride and scan into the Lightning Lane whenever you feel like it. Unfortunately, you only get access to each Lightning Lane entrance once per day. See Our Full Guide to Premier Pass Here! Tips for Doing EPCOT Without Lightning Lanes Ultimately, you don’t need any of these services to have a good time in the park, but we do recommend you go into the day with a plan! If you want to visit sans-Lightning Lanes, it’s a good idea to rope drop one of the popular attractions to start, like Cosmic Rewind, Frozen Ever After, or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Another great tip is to look out for those single rider lines! Both Test Track and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure offer them year-round, but we’ve seen Soarin’ test a single rider queue in the past. Using a single rider queue can save you a lot of waiting time if you’re willing for your party to be split. Living with the Land One planning tip that helps at EPCOT specifically is that folks often start at the front of the park at the beginning of the day to knock out rides, then move to World Showcase in the afternoon and evening when they’re ready to eat lunch and dinner. If you tackle the park in “reverse,” you’re likely to experience shorter waits. World Showcase If you plan to spend money on Lightning Lanes in EPCOT, make sure you’re smart about your spending! Using these tips will help you navigate the park with ease and spend the least amount of time waiting in line as possible. 3. A popular ride is FINALLY reopening in Magic Kingdom! After months of waiting, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is reopening very soon. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin In less than 24 hours, you can fight your way through the galaxy to defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg because the ride officially reopens tomorrow! Ahead of this big change, we’re breaking down everything you need to know and maybe a hint or two at how to become a galactic hero. Galactic heroes, your time has arrived! Buzz Lightyear is finally reopening on April 8th, 2026, after closing in August 2025. The ride did soft open at the end of March, but it wasn’t open every day leading up to tomorrow. We were some of the lucky few who actually got to check it out ahead of time so we know all about those changes! Line for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin soft opening While the ride is still a general shoot style ride, there have been a few big updates. There’s a brand-new scene at the beginning of the attraction. It features a new character called Buddy, who tells you all about the game and gives you a quick shooting lesson. It’s Buddy! There are also brand new ride vehicles! These updated vehicles got a fresh coat of paint and new blasters. Those new blasters really are the star of the update because now guests can pick them up and shoot more freely. New ride vehicles Once you’re inside the attraction, you’ll notice new targets too! These updates targets are much easier to see, plus they light up when you shoot them so you know that you actually hit the target rather than guessing. This has made it easier to hit the targets and feel confident in your shooting game! New target! Before you hop back onto the ride, we also have a few tips that can help you aim for that Galactic Hero status. Our best tip is to hold the blaster with both hands: use one hand for shooting and the other to steady it. You’ll also just want to keep your finger on the trigger and hold it down constantly as you move it around to hit targets. Cast Members did assure us that you can hold it down and it will shoot constantly, but if you’re looking to be quicker you might want to shoot manually. Both will give you points, so go for what works best for you. Buzz is back! Aiming for the black dot in the center of the target will also get you more points than aiming willy nilly. The way to really max out your points, you need to look for targets that are flashing white — those are worth more points! The updated Escape Hatch Those aren’t the only important targets though! You need to watchfor clusters of flashing rainbow targets. If you see those, shoot at them! They unlock a 10-second bonus mode, and you can rack up several points in those ten seconds to get your Galactic Hero status. Scores We are sersiouly excited to have this attraction back open in Magic Kingdom while we eagerly await Big Thunder Mountain’s reopening. For those who are checking out the attraction tomorrow, good luck defeating Zurg! As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news, updates, and more. 4. Yes, we absolutely love Disney Parks, and we’ve been known to run through Universal Studios with our wands in hand. While we’re generally here for the food, we just love theme parks in general and keep our eyes on other parks throughout the country, including Six Flags. ©EPR According to Business Wire, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has officially sold six of its U.S. parks to EPR Properties. The six parks sold during this deal include: Valleyfair (Minnesota) Worlds of Fun (Missouri) Michigan’s Adventure (Michigan) Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston (Texas) Six Flags St. Louis (Missouri) Six Flags Great Escape (New York) ©EPR Six Flags La Ronde in Montreal is also expected to close in the second quarter of 2026. ©EPR Six Flags President and CEO, John Reilly, said, “This divestiture reflects Six Flags’ disciplined approach to portfolio optimization and the decisive action we are taking to concentrate our capital and operational focus on properties with the greatest long-term growth potential. This portfolio refinement further positions Six Flags to execute more effectively in 2026 and beyond, and I am confident in the opportunities ahead as we continue taking steps to drive improved operating performance, margin expansion, free cash flow generation, and earnings growth.” ©EPR EPR is planning to partner with Enchanted Parks to continue running the six properties. EPR will use the Six Flags brand through the end of 2026, subject to certain requirements, and no significant impact on guests is expected during this transition. The parks will continue to have regular operating schedules, and all season passes sold will be valid through the 2026 operating season, including the multi-park pass, which allows you to visit other Six Flags locations. ©EPR Six Flags continues to own 21 theme parks, 14 water parks, and 9 resort properties. 7. If you’re planning a visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year, we’re going to give you some pointers! Hollywood Studios This is one of Disney World’s most popular parks because it’s home to big thrills and fan-favorite IPs like Toy Story and Star Wars. So if you want to visit, you may want to choose a time when it’s going to be less crowded. We’ve rounded up a list of the weeks that we’re projecting to be less crowded in 2026! April 26th-May 2nd The first week on our list is April 26th-May 2nd, which falls in that sweet spot after Spring Break season, but before schools let out for the summer. It’s also after the runDisney Springtime Surprise, so you won’t have fans crowding the park for that event. Hollywood Studios As far as Hollywood Studios goes, this is also the only week on our list that falls before some major changes. Parts of Animation Courtyard, which is now called Walt Disney Studios, are reopening at the end of May. Other offerings (like The Magic of Disney Animation and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets) are set to open in the summer, so we expect some folks might be saving their visits until that point. Get the Details on the New Walt Disney Studios Land Here! August 23rd-29th most people back in school, before labor day, after initial Halloween rush The summer is a popular time to visit since many kids are out of school, so our next week when it might not be too busy falls as summertime winds down. The week of August 23rd-29th will be after many Americans have returned to school, but before people get time off for the Labor Day holiday. Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios This also falls after the initial Halloween rush. Halloween starts in Disney World in mid-August, and some fans will flock to the parks at that time to be among the first to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and see the fall celebrations. 9 Reasons You Need a Summer Trip to Disney World in 2026 September 13th-19th & 20th-26th September is typically one of the quietest months in Disney World, though not the entire month, since Labor Day kicks it off. Once that holiday rush is over, students go back to school, and the initial hype for Halloween dies down a bit. Also, it’s still pretty hot this time of year (we’re talking 90º temperatures), so some people wait to come until October or November, when it starts to cool down. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance The one thing that might change the popularity of these dates is the official opening dates for the new attractions. If The Magic of Disney Animation or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets open shortly before these days (or during!), then people may plan trips specifically for those offerings. Learn More About the New Muppets Coaster Here! November 15th-21st Now, we’re getting into the holiday season. November 15th-21st is kind of a sweet spot. The holiday celebrations kick off in Disney World a week or more before these dates, and this is the week that falls before Thanksgiving break. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway We often find that the week before Thanksgiving is pretty quiet, considering most folks are saving their vacation time for the big holiday. The weather is usually pretty nice, and you can enjoy holiday celebrations like the decor, the snacks, and Jollywood Nights. Get the Rundown on Jollywood Nights Here! November 29th-December 5th Last on our list for 2026 is November 29th-December 5th. This is the week AFTER Thanksgiving, which, though not as quiet as the week before the holiday, can still be pretty chill. This usually falls during a time when people are back at work for a few weeks or students are wrapping up school at the end of the fall semester. Hollywood Studios during the holiday season You’ll start to see crowds pick up around the second week of December after college students have exams, but until then, you might get a few days of peace and quiet. Disney’s Hollywood Studios If you haven’t decided on a date for your visit yet, see if one of these options lines up with your calendar! 13. We are definitely in the era of change at Walt Disney World. Several ride updates are on the horizon, and new lands are being developed as we speak in the theme parks! Disney Springs Not even Disney Springs, Disney’s shopping and dining district, is immune to the changes. This year alone, 3 stores have closed permanently, and we’ve got all of the info right here, so you’re not caught unaware! Yes, there are lots of closures, construction, and more these days around the Disney World resort, but three permanent closures in just 4 months does feel like a lot! First, we lost Sprinkles Cupcakes in January 2026. Sprinkles Cupcakes Sprinkles was a part of a nationwide closure of the brand’s brick-and-mortar stores that took place on January 1st, 2026. Ahead of the sudden closure, there was speculation online that the Disney Springs location would be closing up shop, so it wasn’t too much of a shock once the doors were finally closed. Sprinkles Cupcakes is closed Disney didn’t waste much time, though! This spot was quickly occupied by the Black Tap CrazyShakes pop-up, so you can still find a sweet treat at this location. This location is only for a limited time and will be available until June 1st, 2026. Mickey Mouse Shake from Black Tap The second permanent closure was Francesca’s! This women’s apparel store closed its doors on March 29th, after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in early 2026 and proceeded to shut down all store locations. Francesca’s The store ran several last-minute discounts ahead of its closure, and we even stopped by to see workers clearing the store out after its last day. When we glanced inside the store, there was no hint of what might replace it. The store had been open for nearly 10 years at Disney Springs, so it’s sad to see such a staple go! Francesca’s is now closed Finally, the Shore clothing store is also closing its doors very soon! The clothing store’s last day will be on April 30th, 2026, so there isn’t much time left. Shore If you head to Disney Springs before its closure, there are some big sales going on because everything in the store is currently 40% off. These sales aren’t available online, so you will have to swing by Disney Springs to take advantage of the discounts. The sales! Disney hasn’t shared what will replace the beachwear store, but we are keeping our eyes peeled for more news. These three permanent closures join several others from the last few years, including the Art of Shaving, the Sosa Family Cigars shop, the Uggs Store, Sanuk, and more. While change can be hard, it is exciting to see what new offerings might pop up in the near future. As always, be sure to keep DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news, updates, and more. 16. Disney World is going through some MASSIVE changes right now, between new lands, rides, restaurants, and a whole lot more. EPCOT While most of those changes are still a ways away, updates are coming even sooner to EPCOT. Whether you already have a trip to this park planned for this summer or are still thinking about making the jump, trust us when we say you’re going to want to check out these changes coming to EPCOT soon! Changes are hitting EPCOT this summer, and we can’t wait! Summer is one of our favorite times to visit this park because there is always so much happening. This year, even more exciting changes are on the horizon (see what we did there?), and we wanted to make sure you knew about them, so let’s get into it all! Soarin’ Across America Soarin’ Around the World is an extremely popular ride in EPCOT’s Land Pavilion, and it’s easy to see why. This attraction takes riders on an aerial tour of various countries and landscapes, complete with smells and the feeling of wind in your hair. But a NEW version of the ride is coming to EPCOT soon. Soarin’ will transform into Soarin’ Across America this summer to honor the United States’ 250th birthday, and the change will OFFICIALLY take place on May 26th, 2026! ©Disney Soarin’ Around the World will close on May 13th as changes are implemented, which will include a scenic tour and celebration of many of the country’s most awe-inspiring areas. The Single BIGGEST Announcement Disney Made This Month Food & Wine Festival While the official dates for the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival have yet to be announced, this annual event will return this summer, likely in August based on past years. 2024 Food and Wine Festival Recognized as the Original Disney Food Festival, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival began in 1995 with 25 Marketplaces situated around World Showcase. Featuring incredible special events, informative culinary and beverage demonstrations, celebrity chefs, and delicious Marketplace Food Booths around the park, this annual event is a can’t-miss part of the Disney calendar! Full Spread at Flavors of America If Disney follows the same pattern in 2026 as it did in 2024 and 2025, this year’s festival would last from August 27 through November 21st, though we’re still waiting on confirmation of those dates. Don’t worry, we’ll let you know as soon as something is announced! Learn More About the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Here Cool Kids’ Summer Get ready for Cool Kids’ Summer to return to Disney World from May 26th to September 8th, 2026! Goofy’s Game Machine presents playtime favorites such as Goofy Says, Balloon Bonanza, and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks. 18. Spring just has a way of making everything feel fresh again — flowers start blooming, the weather warms up, and there’s a little extra magic in the air. Spring is in the air! It’s also the perfect time to revisit sweet, nostalgic Disney classics like Bambi. With its soft colors, forest setting, and heartwarming story, it’s a movie that really feels like spring. There’s even a 3D bow that adds a subtle pop of dimension. ©Amazon You’ll also find flowers, butterflies, and mushrooms in soft colors surrounding them. 19. The 2026 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival has been underway for a while now, but there are still NEW menu items to try! EPCOT Farmers Feast We love trying out all of the Outdoor Kitchens (aka food booths) featured during this EPCOT festival, and one booth actually changes throughout! Come with us to EPCOT Farmers Feast to try the NEW Springtime menu! Menu Over at EPCOT’s Farmers Feast, you’ll find a variety of available items. This is a special booth that has time-released menu items! Yep, depending on when you visit, you can experience a whole new set of bites and nibbles! From April 6th to May 10th, you can experience these items. Springtime Menu You can check out our review of the Early Bloom menu right here! But now it’s time to dig into the Springtime menu. Eats As part of the Springtime menu, we grabbed the Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Mozzarella with shallot vinaigrette, sourdough croutons, pesto, micro basil, and balsamic pearls for $5.19. Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Mozzarella This was SO summery and fresh! The tomatoes were juicy and firm, but not overly so. The vinaigrette had an herby, slightly tangy flavor similar to balsamic but a bit more balanced. The mozzarella was fresh and soft with a nice, chewy texture that paired really well with the tomatoes. The croutons added a crunchy texture that helped break up the softness of the rest of the dish, and everything just paired really well together. We’d definitely get this again, especially when paired with the next dish! Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Mozzarella We also tried the Grilled Beef Strip Loin with tomato risotto, tomato beurre blanc, and basil pesto. You can get this dish for $8.79. Grilled Beef Strip Loin Firstly, we loved the tomato risotto — and there was quite a bit of it! It was filling with a fluffy consistency that wasn’t overly dense. We loved that there were actual tomatoes in it. The strip loin was well-cooked with a firm texture, but still had a bit of softness thanks to the pink center. Some parts were fattier than others, but in the best way — it basically melted in our reporter’s mouth. It had a peppery flavor to it, and the herby sauce leveled up the whole dish. Grilled Beef Strip Loin For dessert, we had the Peach Cobbler with cinnamon gelato and streusel topping for $4.79. Peach Cobbler This melted VERY quickly, but it still tasted fantastic. The peach flavor is prominent, with several sliced peaches at the bottom of the dish. The crumble topping stayed nice and crunchy, which was almost granola-like, which helped break up the rest of the soft textures of the dish. We loved the cinnamon gelato as it paired really well with the fruitiness of the peach. This might be a new Best of the Fest for us! Peach Cobbler But wait, there’s more! Drinks To drink, we picked up the new Playalinda Brewing Company Hibiscus Tangelo Hard Seltzer. This is available for $12.50. This was a refreshing, fruit-forward seltzer that felt more like a cocktail than a true seltzer. It reminded us of a mixed berry juice, with a hint of citrus. Very drinkable and something we would definitely get again, especially on a hot day! Playalinda Brewing Company Hibiscus Tangelo Hard Seltzer So, is this new menu worth a new visit to the festival? 21. When it comes to eating around Disney World, you’re likely thinking about all the Disney-specific snacks you want to grab. That’s great, don’t get us wrong, as they are unique to the resort, but if you’re traveling for a longer trip, you may find yourself looking for something more generic that reminds you of home a little more. There’s never a bad time for ice cream! We know, you may be sitting there going, “What?! No, I’ll never get tired of the Disney food, that’s a big reason why I’m going!” We 100% get that, but take it from us — we’re in the parks EVERY day, and our team members who don’t live locally travel in pretty often, and they’ll tell you firsthand that if your trip is 5+ days, you’ll eventually be craving something normal. One of the best places to head for a generic sweet treat in Disney Springs is none other than Häagen-Dazs, even though this spot is often overlooked! Atmosphere Häagen-Dazs is located on the West Side of Disney Springs, and as it’s a kiosk, a lot of people walk right by it. Yes, these spots are located all around the United States, so grabbing a treat here isn’t a special Disney snack, but hey, if you’re craving good ice cream that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, this is a good spot! Häagen-Dazs There isn’t any designated seating for this spot, but there are community tables nearby. During busy seasons, it may be hard to find a spot, and there’s virtually no shade right nearby, so keep that in mind. We know there’s ice cream on the menu here, but what exactly can you get? Menu There are usually about 14 flavors on the menu here, and as for the different types of ice cream served, you can grab: Ice Cream Cups (Mini, Small, and Regular Dazzler Sundaes (Small and Regular) Build-Your-Own-Sundaes (Small and Regular) Shakes with Toppings (Small and Regular) Build-Your-Own Shake (Small and Regular) Assorted Ice Cream Bars Waffle Cones, Dipped Waffle Cones, and toppings are also available ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks We decided to grab a small of the Dark Cherry Truffle Milkshake for $9.75. We did order this with whipped cream, but it was unavailable during our visit. We really loved that the cherry flavor here was on the more genuine, tart side, rather than leaning artificial, and since the consistency of the shake is slightly thinner than others, it made it easy to drink. Dark Cherry Truffle Milkshake The chocolate truffle pieces add a great, rich flavor that blends beautifully with the cherry — if you’re someone who loves this combination, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Eats We also grabbed a Mini cup of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream for $6.75, and this was packed full of cookie dough pieces and chocolate chips, which we appreciated. The ice cream itself was creamy and dense, though it will melt fast in the Florida heat. We think the mini is best for someone who just wants a quick treat, as it’s only about one scoop. Mini cup of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream We also grabbed a Regular cup of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream for $8.75. The portion here was noticeably larger, but the quality of the ice cream wasn’t diminished by the larger size. Regular cup of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream Again, though, since it does melt fast, this would be a size we recommend sitting down and eating right away. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… Guests looking for a quick, familiar dessert. If you want something that reminds you of home, or that you don’t need to worry about really savoring because it may be the only time you have it, this is a good stop. Those wanting something cold and easy to enjoy between activities. The treats here aren’t massive, and they’re reasonably priced, so we think it’s a good fit to grab quick as you’re walking around or during a small break between activities. Guests who prefer classic flavors over more experimental or themed offerings. Picky eaters, this is a great choice for you! The flavors are familiar, you won’t need to think too hard, and there’s something for everyone. You should skip this Disney World spot if… Guests seeking unique, Disney-exclusive desserts. This is not the spot to find that picturesque, Disney-themed dessert, and if that’s what you’re heading here for, you’ll be deeply disappointed. Those looking for a more immersive or themed dining experience. There’s no Disney theming here, and really no theming at all, so if that’s a big proponent for you, we suggest checking out another spot nearby, like Goofy’s Candy Co. If you want a dessert that holds up longer in the heat. This will melt fast, as will most ice cream, so if you’re not a fan of that, or don’t want to potentially get sticky, perhaps look into other desserts like cookies from Gideon’s Bakehouse or Summer House on the Lake. Overall We’re glad this spot is in Disney Springs, and it’s easy to get to, as it’s a great addition to Disney Springs. It provides a familiar, reliable option for a quick dessert, and while it may not offer the uniqueness of other Disney Springs treats, its convenience, speed, and recognizable flavors make it a practical stop. Especially if you want a sweet treat fast! Birthday Cake Dazzler Ice Cream In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 23. 2026 is going to be a year of major change at Walt Disney World, as massive years-long construction projects continue to reshape the future of the resort. However, that doesn’t mean nothing new is coming in 2026. New missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu. While some of the larger projects won’t be finished and open to guests until calendar turns 2027 — and beyond — there are major changes CONFIRMED to be coming to Disney World THIS YEAR! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – April 8th Tomorrowland’s Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin closed on August 4th, 2025, for a refurbishment that is bringing new ride vehicles, new blasters, and a new scene featuring the park’s original robot character named Buddy, who will ensure “departing Space Rangers are fully prepared for their mission (by) enthusiastically providing encouragement, final system checks on their Star Cruisers, and a chance to hone their blaster aim.” After several previews and soft-openings, the ride is reopening officially on April 8th. It’s Buddy! Smugglers Run W/Mando & Grogu Updates – May 22nd In conjunction with the release of the new Star Wars Mandalorian & Grogu feature film on May 22nd, Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run will see the addition of a new mission based on the titular character and his youngling Grogu (Baby Yoda, to those of you unfamiliar with the Galaxy Far, Far Away). According to Disney, as part of the new experience, “the crew will be in control of their own destination, leading to potential adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the just-announced bustling city-planet, Coruscant.” In addition, another new gameplay addition allows the engineer positions to communicate with Grogu, making them much more “important” to the ride’s overall story and narrative. ©Disney Soarin Over America – May 26th In celebration of America’s 250th birthday this coming July, EPCOT’s Soarin’ will receive an “all-new airborne adventure across the US, honoring the heart and spirit of the nation.” Disney even brought in “aviation” legend Patrick Warburton (IYKYK) to announce the overlay, which will be opening at Disney World on May 26th. ©Disney | View of the Grand Canyon in the new version of Soarin’ Magic of Disney Animation – May 26th May 26th is also scheduled to see the opening of the NEW iteration of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios area, which will open in the former Animation Courtyard. The area will feature a new take on The Magic of Disney Animation, a Mary Blair-themed play area, and the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show, which will feature “upbeat original songs, plenty of interactive fun for the little ones, and appearances by beloved Disney characters to sing and dance with.” ©Disney Bluey’s Wild World – May 26th Finally, May 26th will ALSO see another major opening, because Disney decided to go HARD on Memorial Day Weekend this year. Animal Kingdom will finally welcome Bluey! The park’s Conservation Station will be home to Bluey’s Wild World, where guests will able to “play and dance with Bluey and Bingo! Play some of (their) favorite games from Bluey episodes with a fun animal twist, like butterfly keepy uppy”, grab the whole family and “snap some pictures alongside your Blue Heeler pals to remember this one-of-a-kind adventure. Plus, as part of your wild excursion, step outside to discover an experience with animals native to Bluey’s home country of Australia! ©Disney In addition to these confirmed dates, several MAJOR Disney World projects are confirmed to open sometime this year, including: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: The iconic E-Ticket Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed since January 2025 for a massive refurbishment project. According to Disney, the attraction is scheduled to reopen in Spring 2026 with “new magic,” including a fully refurbished track and a new sequence inspired by the Rainbow Caverns of Disneyland’s Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland. The ride is scheduled to reopen in May. Rock & Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets: The original Aerosmith iteration of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster closed in early March to make way for a new Muppet-themed version. The ride is scheduled to be under refurbishment before reopening sometime in the summer, as the “Bad Boys of Boston” are being replaced by a new theme starring The Muppets! According to Disney, the ride will be “fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.” Level99: Disney Springs will see new openings in 2026, including Level99. Located at the site of the former NBA Experience, this interactive, social entertainment center will feature “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” for adults, featuring physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments. The location will also offer food and drink options at a 2-story bar, including “handcrafted cocktails, local beers and made-from-scratch bites—including LEVEL99’s signature Detroit-style pizza.” It’s scheduled to open in the spring. Six Ravens: A new concept from the company behind Gideon’s Bakehouse, is also coming to Disney Springs this year. According to owner Steve Lewis, the locations will be focused on savory offerings, specializing in “Coffyns.” Described as an “old school hand pie”, the fluffy yeast bread pastry will be “filled with flavors created not only by the talented minds in Gideon’s kitchen but also by some of your favorite Orlando culinary superstars.” Six Ravens will also serve savory potatoes, local draft beer, and, obviously, “some tasty desserts.” The eatery is scheduled to open sometime this year Vans Store: 2026 will also see the opening of a new flagship location of the iconic skate shoe brand at Disney Springs. Muppet Paint Job 2026 will see a slew of major openings at Walt Disney World, including some long-awaited ride refurbishments. 24. It’s no secret that it gets HOT in Disney World! The summers can be brutal if you’re not prepared, and it makes us wish that Disney really did have that rumored weather dome. Cinderella Castle Thanks to a new patent recently filed by Disney, it seems like the company is working towards getting better at warning guests about those infamous heat waves and other weather issues. We’re breaking down what we know right here. In a new patent submitted on April 2nd, 2026, Disney detailed a new project called Predicting and Mitigating Effects of Environmental Conditions. In this patent, Disney describes a new system that has a “user device” that will “determine the environmental conditions for a location.” So… what does that mean? ©United States Patent The system would use weather data, specifically local forecasts and weather sensors on Disney property, to send guests alerts that will potentially impact their day. In the patent, Disney details how the weather can potentially ruin your day by writing, “people or animals exposed to heat and humidity, particularly while engaging in an activity (e.g., walking, running, etc.), can develop heat stress or other biological conditions.” ©United States Patent Rather than just using the general weather app on your phone, this new system would send specific alerts to guests on their mobile devices based on their specific location on the property and their plans. The patent also details that “the prediction is based on at least one of a biological characteristic of the user and/or an activity schedule of the user.” This would allow the system to give you heat warnings that would impact you directly and not just anywhere at the theme parks. ©United States Patent These warnings could give guests time to adjust their schedule, make a plan to escape the heat, or find water and a cooling device ahead of the heat waves. The patent also details that the individual could be “a person, an animal, or a plant,” so this could also help Disney with their internal operations as well. It could alert the animal care teams about potential harm coming to the animals at the resort or even how the plants and vegetables could be impacted. ©United States Patent They detailed that this system will “allow many activities to be continued in a more comfortable and less harmful manner by helping to identify and prevent overexposure within a particular environment.” They also shared that the goal of this system is to “allow construction work, athletes, tourists, and the like to more efficiently, enjoyably, and productively maintain a desired activity schedule, even in harsh environmental conditions, such as hot, humid summer days.” Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Based on the patent and the mention of “mobile devices,” we could see this system being added to the My Disney Experience App, which also keeps your theme park schedule and general information already. This system would also focus on pollution levels around the resort. To explain how this feature would be used, the patent writes, “Consider an example where a user is attending an amusement park. Initially, the user may create or optionally may be provided with an itinerary including an order of rides and when to take food and/or rest breaks…it may be predicted that the user may approach and even cross an air pollution exposure threshold if the initially set/provided itinerary is followed due to, for example, smoke from a nearby wildfire.” After getting a notification about the air pollution, the system would send an updated recommendation that guests can either accept or decline. Disney Fries at Casey’s Corner It seems like this system could have several different uses throughout your vacation in Disney World, and it might even help prevent some disasters along the way. We’re eager to see when and if this system will be added to the Disney vacation experience in the near future. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more news and updates. 25. Tucked inside the Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT, Restaurant Marrakesh has long been a hidden gem that has been closed for years, and we have the perfect idea to revitalize it. Morocco Pavilion in EPCOT Since the closing of Disney World in 2020, this once vibrant dining spot has remained largely closed, only occasionally reopening as overflow seating during festivals like the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival or as a lounge space for Annual Passholders. And while we’ve appreciated having access to the space in any capacity, we can’t help but feel like it’s time for something more permanent. and honestly, something transformative. We recently stepped aboard the Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship sailing out of Singapore, and while we expected plenty of innovation, we were NOT prepared for the coffee experience that would completely change our standards forever. Located on Deck 7 near TWG Tea, Bacha Coffee immediately stood out. This historic brand, which dates back to 1910 and originated in Marrakech, felt like a perfect thematic match for EPCOT’s Morocco Pavilion, as if it was meant to be there all along. Bacha Coffee The coffee shop on the Adventure is stunning, with design elements inspired by Aladdin — think rich colors, intricate details, and an overall sense of opulence. (Sounding familiar to Restaurant Marrakesh?) But what stood out to us was the experience. What started as a quick stop for a to-go coffee quickly turned into something we’ll be talking about for a long time. We were invited to sit at the bar, and suddenly, we weren’t just grabbing caffeine, but instead, we were part of a full-on, elevated tasting experience. Bacha Coffee on Disney Adventure Every detail felt intentional. Silver coasters, ornate spoons, glass straws, and engraved cups. The menu alone was overwhelming in the best way, with TWO full books of options. Thankfully, the Cast Members were incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the selection process based on our flavor preferences. We ended up trying both a hot and an iced option. The hot coffee arrived in a stunning gooseneck gold kettle, while the iced version was paired with Chantilly cream and liquid syrup on the side. It was indulgent, luxurious, and completely unforgettable. Hot Coffee Yes, the prices were higher than your average cup of coffee (almost double), but for the quality and the experience? We’d do it again in a heartbeat. Which brings us back to EPCOT. With Bacha Coffee’s deep roots in Marrakech, its immersive theming, and its truly unique offering, we can’t think of a better fit for the currently underutilized Restaurant Marrakesh space. Instead of leaving this beautiful pavilion corner in limbo, why not bring in an experience that feels both authentic and excitingly new? It would elevate the Morocco Pavilion in a whole new way and give guests a reason to linger, explore, and sip something extraordinary. Our to-go order at Bacha At the end of the day, we’re dreaming big, but this is one update that would truly change our EPCOT day. Restaurant Marrakesh deserves some new life, and Bacha Coffee feels like the perfect answer.
