  1. Okay, it’s time to talk about pizza in Disney World. Now, you know, we’re not always big fans of the pizza you can find in the parks…let’s just say it doesn’t really impress us. But there are still places to get great pizza…if you know where to look. This is great pizza, y’all Obviously, one of our favorite spots is Via Napoli in EPCOT, but what if you’re craving pizza in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? It’s not like you can go to PizzeRizzo anymore, right? Well, we found great pizza hiding in an unexpected spot: BaseLine Taphouse. That’s right, you can now get pizza…or rather…flatbread…over at BaseLine Tap House. Introducing the Pepperoni Flatbread for $17. This flatbread has mozzarella and pepperoni with red sauce, and is topped with ricotta and hot honey. So it’s a little EXTRA, and we are here for it. First, let’s talk about the crust. It has a soft, bready texture that’s SO nice to chew. Then you’ve got the pepperoni and mozzarella layers, which are pretty standard. Pepperoni Flatbread What really knocks this pizza out of the park, though, are the big lumps of ricotta on top, which cool down the hot honey flavor. Okay, so let’s talk more about the hot honey. It’s not a lot, but just enough to give each bite a hint of sweetness and spiciness. We will say this is a smaller flatbread with 6 small pieces, but it would pair beautifully with any of the lighter beers and ciders you can get at this restaurant. Lots of great flavor We do have a word of warning, though. Each flatbread is made to order (they’re super fresh), so you may have to wait a bit after you order it before it’s ready to be picked up. But it’s totally worth it. If you’re craving pizza in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll want to give it a try. In the meantime, we’ll keep trying all the new foods and drinks in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews. 2. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is known for many things, but two of the most prominently talked about are the vibes and overall theme of the resort, as well as the different dining options available. It’s time to eat! However, when people talk about this hotel and the dining spots you’ll find there, they often rave about ‘Ohana or Tambu Lounge, and while we’re not saying those places don’t deserve the praise, there’s also another spot that’s much easier to get reservations for, and it’s right near by — here’s why we don’t think you should forget about Kona Cafe, especially with these new menu items! Kona Cafe is located inside the main lobby of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on the second level (which you’ll enter on if you come from the Monorail). It’s right in the middle of all the action, and while it is a table service restaurant, which means reservations are required, they’re often not as popular as others, so you can usually find one available, or you can check the walk-up waitlist. Kona Cafe We heard there were new menu items to try out here, so we grabbed a reservation ASAP. We started out with the complimentary Bread Service that’s brought to every table, which is four fluffy bread rolls served with a slab of butter. The bread wasn’t anything to write home about, but the rolls were soft, and while we felt the pineapple flavoring in them wasn’t made equally — some had more pineapple flavor than others — it was still a slight taste we enjoyed, so we have no complaints! Bread Service The first new menu item we took a bite of was the Dynamite Roll for $26, which is Hamachi, Salmon, Asparagus, Carrot, Yuzo Kosho, and Wasabi Sauce. The fishy taste of the salmon was pretty strong, so you’ve gotta be a fan of sushi to enjoy this. There wasn’t any spice to this roll, and while we did enjoy the crunch of the vegetables, we don’t think it affected the flavor too much. The soy sauce didn’t add a ton of flavor either, even though we added more than we normally would, so overall, it was solid, but we wouldn’t make a trip here just to try it. Dynamite Roll Next up was the Mirin-Teriyaki Burger for $25, which is Pressed Patties, Seared Pork Belly, Pineapple, and Provolone served with French Fries or Purple Potato Salad. Mirin-Teriyaki Burger This was SUPER filling, and we loved the mix of sweet and savory flavors. The pineapple especially adds some tangy flavors with the teriyaki sauce, which blends beautifully. The bun itself was slightly toasted, which we loved, and while the patties weren’t soft enough to melt in your mouth, they were far from tough. We’d totally get this one again! We loved the flavors! Finally, we tried the Grilled Chicken Kimchi Sandwich for $19, which is made with Kimchi, Provolone, Spicy Mayonnaise, Arugula, with a choice of French Fries or Purple Potato Salad. Grilled Chicken Kimchi Sandwich It comes served with the chicken and cheese on the bottom bun, and then the kimchi and arugula on the other. We don’t feel the bun was as fresh on this one, and we warn you that this one definitely DOES have a kick to it! We had to grab our water and drink it pretty fast, and that’s definitely coming from the kimchi. The chicken and arugula do help balance out that spice, and we appreciated that the chicken was cooked well on the grill and was very juicy. The kimchi works well with the sandwich as a whole, but since it doesn’t have a ton of flavor other than spice and heat, we don’t recommend eating it on its own unless you know it’s something you love. It’s certainly got some heat! We’ll continue to bring you all the latest Disney World reviews and news, so stay tuned to DFB! 3. Would you spend less time in Disney World theme parks if you could pay less for theme park tickets? Disney’s Hollywood Studios That’s the burning question of the moment, thanks to a new Disney World ticket offer for 2- or 3-day tickets that can only be used after 2 PM at the parks. Now, we’ve asked YOU, our readers, what you thought about this deal, and let’s just say your reactions were mixed. So we’re going to break it down and do the math to help you decide if this ticket deal is worth it. First off, this ticket offer isn’t exactly new. Back in 2019, Disney World had a similar offer: you could save money on tickets if you visited the theme parks after 12 PM. Then, you could get a 2-, 3-, or 4-day Mid-Day Magic Ticket, with the 2-day ticket costing from $88 per person per day (plus tax), the 3-day costing from $84 per person per day (plus tax), and the 4-day costing from $79 per person per day (plus tax). At the time, this Mid-Day ticket offer was pretty popular, so much so that Disney fans have requested for it to return. ©Disney Okay, let’s compare that to the recent ticket offer. Now, you can get a ticket deal for visiting the theme parks after 2 PM (so that’s basically two fewer hours than before, and we have to remember that Disney’s Animal Kingdom tends to close earlier now). The ticket price is also dependent on the day you choose from May 26th through July 29th. The 2-day ticket is $118 to $156 per day, while the 3-day ticket is $116 to $154 per day. EPCOT So it may seem like the value of the ticket has declined from 2019 to 2026. Overall, the new ticket deal is around $30 more expensive than it was in 2019 and includes two fewer hours in the parks (and again, we have to point out Animal Kingdom’s early closing hours). Considering the number of price increases tickets have had since 2019, though, this makes the new deal almost comparable — but not quite — to the 2019 deal. Hollywood Studios The 2019 Mid-Day ticket deal was also so popular that many Disney fans have requested that it return. Disney has basically brought the offer back, but with 2026 prices. Now, if you’re looking to visit all four theme parks, you’re much better off with the 4-park magic ticket that Disney currently offers. It’s less expensive per day than the 2 PM ticket deal. ©Disney However, if you’re only visiting the parks for a few days and don’t want to bother with rope dropping, the After 2 PM ticket deal could still be worth it for you. You’ll still be saving money over what a regular 2- or 3-day ticket would cost. This is also something locals without Annual Passes could use if they just want to pop into the parks for a weekend. Disney’s Animal Kingdom However, for those planning 4-day or longer Disney World trips, the ticket deal isn’t worth it. So it really depends on how long you plan on spending in the parks. This is a deal that will only appeal to a select group of people, and for them, they could save $$$ by using it. Disney World Theme Park Tickets We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney World discounts and deals, and help you decide which ones are for you, so stay tuned to DFB for more. “The Idea Is Good but the Price Is Laughable” Disney Fans Aren’t Holding Back About This HUGE Park Ticket News Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 5. Early Entry is one of Disney’s most POPULAR perks, and it’s about to expand! Early entry sign! A quick refresh on Early Entry before we begin: Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels (and select other hotels) can take advantage of a 30-minute early entry into each of Walt Disney World’s theme parks every day of their stay (including check-in and check-out days). Now that’s out of the way, let’s move on to what’s changing! Over the next few months, Disney is going to open — or reopen — several rides, and a couple of in-demand attractions have already been confirmed to join the Early Entry lineup. First up is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at the Magic Kingdom. The blaster-based attraction has been closed since last summer for a refurbishment that added new ride vehicles, new blasters, a new opening scene, a new animatronic in said opening scene (BUDDY!), and refreshed show scenes and targets. After a recent string of soft openings and previews, the ride will be open in full on April 8th (although it has soft opened, so you may get lucky) and join the Magic Kingdom’s Early Entry lineup. It’s Buddy! Next, let’s move over to Hollywood Studios, where the Rock ’n’ R0ller Coaster is currently closed as Disney removes its original Aerosmith theme to replace it with the Muppets in a new experience that Disney says will be “fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.” In March 2026, Disney confirmed that the new attraction will be eligible for Early Entry when it opens this summer. The NEW car! Space Ranger Spin and the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster will join the following attractions in the Early Entry attraction pool: Magic Kingdom Park “it’s a small world” “it’s a small world” Astro Orbiter Dumbo the Flying Elephant Mad Tea Party Mickey’s PhilharMagic Peter Pan’s Flight Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Space Mountain The Barnstormer The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Tomorrowland Speedway Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress EPCOT Frozen Ever After at EPCOT Frozen Ever After Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Mission: SPACE Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Soarin’ Around the World Spaceship Earth Test Track The Seas with Nemo & Friends Disney’s Hollywood Studios Tower of Terror Alien Swirling Saucers Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Slinky Dog Dash Star Tours – The Adventures Continue Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Toy Story Mania! Animal Kingdom Expedition Everest Avatar Flight of Passage Expedition Everest Na’vi River Journey Zootopia: Better Zoogether! New rides aren’t the only changes coming to Early Entry, however. During the Cool Kids Summer promotion, which runs from May 26th to September 8th, hotel guests eligible for Early Entry will be able to meet a rotating cast of Disney characters at each park before the park opens to the general public. Meaning that, at least some guests who usually rush to rides will instead try to knock out character meet & greets in the early morning. Hey Mickey! Early Entry, one of Disney’s most popular hotel perks, is seeing some changes over the next few months. 6. We know, we know, you’re probably tired of hearing the words “construction” or “refurbishment” with “Disney World” in the same sentence, but hey, it is what it is! Jambo House at Animal Kingdom Lodge There are a lot of construction projects happening around Disney World right now, and while lots of it is in the theme parks, many of Disney World’s hotels are also undergoing construction or seeing refurbishments as well. In fact, one big refurbishment project begins just next month, and we want to make sure everyone’s prepared, since it may affect what you see and hear around your hotel. If you’re staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House, this is your reminder that starting in May 2026 and continuing through January 2027, refurbishments will begin on the rooms in this section of the hotel. There are two main sections to this hotel, which are Jambo House and Kidani Village. Kidani Village rooms will come out of refurbishment in May 2026, after being under renovation since October 2025. Animal Kingdom Lodge This hotel is considered one of Disney World’s Deluxe Hotels, meaning that it’s one of the most expensive stays on property. During this time of refurbishment, we recommend booking over at Kidani Village if you can, but know that prices may be a little higher due to the rooms being brand new. Of course, Disney won’t place you inside a Jambo House room that’s actively being refurbished, but you may hear or see construction around hotel rooms during the day. For some people, that’s a dealbreaker, which we understand, so it’s important to know that they’re taking place. Hotel room door at Animal Kingdom Lodge This is far from the only hotel undergoing construction currently in Disney World. If you’re looking to avoid hotels with any major active construction at the moment, we recommend checking Disney World’s website and looking for a disclaimer on hotel pages that will let you know if construction is currently taking place. Disney is usually great about keeping noise to a minimum, especially at night, but for those who nap during the day or are extra sensitive to noise, it may be best to save these hotels for another time. 7. It’s finally happened! Although Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin isn’t scheduled to reopen in Magic Kingdom until April 8th, the ride has soft opened, which means you may get to ride it earlier than that. We love Buddy! The ride closed in August 2025 to get a series of updates that change the ride experience, as well as make it even more interactive for those who ride it. Disney even added a brand new character to the ride, Buddy, who shows you how to use the new ride vehicles and blasters to get the highest score possible. Even reaching Galactic Hero has changed, and if that’s your goal, we’re going to tell you all about it. Before the ride closed, you could become a Galactic Hero by reaching a score of 999,999 points. Well, that’s changed, and you now need to hit 1 million points to become a Galactic Hero (and you can also score OVER that if you’re REALLY good). Scores The good news is that it’s easier than ever to actually hit targets that will help you reach your goal, and we’re going to tell you how. First, you can now remove the blaster from the vehicle, so you can hold it steady. Our best tip is to hold the blaster with both hands: use one hand for shooting and the other to steady it. You’ll also just want to keep your finger on the trigger and hold it down constantly as you move it around to hit targets. It’s SO much easier to shoot Now, before, you couldn’t even tell if or when you were hitting targets because they didn’t react. Well, now, those targets will change color when you hit them, so you’ll know you’ve succeeded and can move on to the next target. Pro tip: aim for the black dot in the center of each target. This is why having a steady grip on the blaster is so important. Point and shoot! You’ll also want to look for targets that are flashing white — those are worth more points. Make sure you prioritize those over other targets. But also keep an eye out for clusters of flashing rainbow targets. If you see those, shoot at them! They unlock a 10-second bonus mode, and you can rack up a ton of points in those ten seconds to get to 1 million even faster. You’ll need a keen eye. Get those points! We also noticed that this new version of the ride is more about shooting as many targets as you can, as well, so you’ll want to hit the high-priority targets and then focus on every other target in each scene to get those points, too. Also, the flashing targets change, so you never know where they’re going to turn up. Point and shoot! Becoming a Galactic Hero still requires some skill and practice, so don’t fret if you don’t get there on your first ride-through. You can always ride the attraction again and again, and you’re sure to get better each time. We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 6 HUGE Hidden Secrets in Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin that We ALMOST MISSED! 9. Do you ever sit there and wonder about what might have been? Whether it’s you’re glad the thing in question didn’t happen, or you’re reminiscing on how things happened, it’s something a lot of us can relate to. Cinderella Castle In this case, information has just come out from Disney that something VERY interesting could have happened in Magic Kingdom park during the large expansion taking place. As it turns out, a Disney Imagineer has confirmed that the possibility of building 1-2 hotels INSIDE Magic Kingdom had been discussed! According to Florida Politics, back around February 2024, Todd Rimmer, a master-planning executive with Disney Imagineering, spoke in court under oath, and during his time on the stand, mentioned that Disney had been considering building 1 or 2 hotels inside Magic Kingdom as part of the big expansion currently taking place. However, sometime between that February and now, that’s no longer on the table. Wilderness Lodge in Disney World How do we know this? Well, in an email statement from Disney after they were asked about potential hotel plans, they wrote, “There are no plans for new hotels as part of the Magic Kingdom expansion. We’re focused on bringing to life all we’ve already announced.” The lands already announced as part of this expansion are Piston Peak and Villains Land. Piston Peak Rimmer’s deposition in court revealed that Disney was toying with the idea of competing with Universal Orlando’s Grand Helios Hotel, which is located inside Epic Universe. Currently, there are three hotels on the Monorail loop around Magic Kingdom — Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. While they’re certainly close to the hotel, they’re not right on property, which is what Disney was thinking about. Monorail It’s important to note, too, that this conversation happened before Disney had officially announced the expansion to the public, which happened at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim in August 2024. If a hotel like this were to be built, it would likely become the most popular in Disney, and also likely the most expensive. More Recent Disney Hotel News! Heads Up! 12. It’s almost time for a big holiday…that’s right, it’s Easter week! Hello, Easter Bunnies! You might be surprised how much Disney World celebrates Easter. There’s usually a springtime parade on the actual holiday, and you can meet Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny in Magic Kingdom leading up to the big day. On top of that, you’ll find Easter-inspired treats around the property. Recently, we went to Disney Springs to review one such snack! We’re taking you along with us to Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew in Disney Springs to try their seasonal Easter Specialty Donut. This dessert is available for $6.50 for a limited time. There they are! It’s a pretty simple glazed yeast doughnut topped with icing and sprinkles, plus sugar bunny-themed decorations. This definitely falls in line with the “bunny butt” snack trend we see this time of year in Disney World. Everything seems to have bunny butts on it! It sure is cute to look at, but is it good to eat? Easter Specialty Donut Well, all in all, it’s not very exciting. It’s pretty sweet from the icing and sprinkles. Those sprinkles and sugar decorations add some crunchy texture, but the doughnut itself is soft and fluffy on the inside. Quite sugary! If you want a pretty basic doughnut with not much flavor variety and some fun decor, this will hit the spot, and your kids will probably love it. But it’s not as interesting taste-wise as some of the other items on the menu here at Everglazed. Inside It’s available now through Easter Sunday, so hurry and snag one if you’re interested. 15. Recently, Disney has announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and so much more. But, what about those projects that Disney hasn’t exactly announced yet? EPCOT Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney World files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we recently spotted some you might want to know about! We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and here’s what we found this time around! EPCOT Refreshment Port located near the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT has been temporarily closed for refurbishment since January 12th. Disney hasn’t shared what sort of work is going on here, but a new permit was recently filed to install set elements at this location. This is typically what is listed on permits when Disney is working on the exterior of a building or attraction. The Refreshment Port We’re not sure how long this closure will continue, as Disney hasn’t revealed a reopening date, and no hours are listed on the Disney World calendar for the foreseeable future. We’ll be keeping an eye out, though! HUGE Announcements Revealed for EPCOT, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and More! Magic Kingdom Over at Magic Kingdom, Big Top Souvenirs recently closed for refurbishment. The entire circus tent portion of the building has been removed, and now Disney has filed another general construction permit for this merchandise location. Big Top Souvenirs According to the Disney World website, Big Top Souvenirs “is expected to reopen for Guests to enjoy later this year,” which sounds like it could be a relatively lengthy refurbishment. We’ll let you know when we hear of any opening dates! The Ultimate Guide To Magic Kingdom Restaurants Port Orleans Resort — Riverside Disney recently filed a permit for work on the main building at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside. The permit is for general construction, which isn’t too specific. The contractor listed on the permit is Bruns, Inc., which is a general contractor based out of Windermere, Florida, near Orlando. Port Orleans Riverside Construction has been going on at Port Orleans — Riverside for quite some time, with the completion date having recently been pushed back until August 2027. 16. It seems like a lot of change has been happening in Disney Springs over the past few years. We’ve seen several stores close forever, including Francesca’s, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Art of Shaving, the Sosa Family Cigars shop, the Uggs Store, Sanuk, and more. Disney Springs Well, we’ve got ANOTHER store closure that’s happening soon, we need to warn you about. So if you have plans to do any shopping at Shore, you’ll want to do so SOON because the Shore clothing store is also closing. We’d heard that the Shore store, which is located at Disney Springs Town Center, might be closing, so we called the store to check for ourselves. Sure enough, an employee confirmed that the store’s last day would be on April 30th, so it will be closing at the end of the month. Shore The employee did confirm, though, that ahead of the closing, everything in the store is currently 40% off, so if you want to take advantage of a sale, here’s your chance. Note that these sale prices are not available online, so you’ll need to visit the Disney Springs store to get these savings. Shore is a clothing brand that specializes in vacation and beach wear. ©Shore Disney has not yet given word on what might take its place, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for updates. We’ll also be sure to check the store out once it has closed to see if there might be any indication of who might be moving in, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 17. You know when you want the food of a sit down restaruant but the idea of having a whole dining experience just seems too much? Let me introduce you to Disney World lounges. These are our favorite spots to grab a drink and an appetizer to escape the chaos of the theme parks without having to commit to a full-service meal. Steakhouse 71 Lounge We’re heading to the Steakhouse 71 Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary Resort to check out some bites and drinks and see if you should add this stop to your Disney World trip. Atmosphere Welcome to the Steakhouse 71 Lounge! It’s located on the first floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and is meant to transport you back to 1971 with its retro artwork and photography. Come on in! Don’t worry, though, the menu is packed with modern favorites along with classics that we’ve loved forever. There is seating at the bar, along with some couches and comfy chairs with low tables. The bar There are TVs on (so if you’re saving the game for later, you might want to be intentional with your seating!), and it is attached to the full restaurant, Steakhouse 71. Other seating You don’t need a reservation for the bar and lounge, and while the space definitely has some ’70s-inspired decorations, we never feel as if we’re back in grandma’s house. It’s cool and trendy, and the colors are gorgeous. The lounge is usually open from 11:30 AM to 11 PM. The Lounge Menu The Steakhouse 71 Lounge has very similar menu items to Steakhouse 71 and incorporates steakhouse and American classics. There are some lounge bites… ©Disney …specialty cocktails… ©Disney …beer… ©Disney …wine… ©Disney …and specialty hot beverages. ©Disney Eats First up, we had the Steakhouse 71 Onion Rings for $10, which are Hand-breaded with Spicy “Ranch” Dipping Sauce. The ranch is plant-based! Onion Rings The crunch on these things was awesome! Even after sitting for a bit, the onion rings were perfectly crunchy and had that great combination of being greasy and messy in the best way. The ranch wasn’t really a ranch but leaned more on the “special sauce” sorta idea and was spicy. Like super spicy. You might want to ask for other sauce options or be prepared to guzzle your drink because we found it on the hot side! Spicy but good! We also had the Loaded Macaroni & Cheese for $12, which has Applewood-smoked Bacon and Jalapeno. Mac and Cheese The mac and cheese was so creamy and tasted like sharp white cheddar. It was topped with bread crumbs (true classic, homemade mac and cheese vibes here!), and while the bacon didn’t add much to the dish, the jalapeño definitely did. This was also on the spicy side — not as bad as the ranch from the onion rings, but it definitely packed a punch. We also recommended having a drink nearby for this dish. We liked the bread crumb topping Then we tried the Bacon and Eggs for $15, which had Maple-lacquered Pork Belly, Smoked Cheese Grits, and a Perfect Egg. Bacon and Eggs While this is listed on the website menu, it might not be on the paper menu you’re handed. Our server notified us of the dish, but don’t be afraid to ask if you’re interested. The Bacon and Eggs is on top of the cheese grits, which are some of the greatest grits in Disney World. It paired beautifully with the richness of the runny egg yolk and the sweetness from the caramelized pork belly. It is called Bacon and Eggs, but the bacon is a pork belly that has maple syrup on it, bringing in some sweetness, and it felt slow-cooked, and we loved how it just melted in our mouths. It was a great appetizer to try, and we really enjoyed it. That egg was perfection Finally, we had the Stack Burger for $24, which features Signature Beef Blend, Pork Belly, American Cheese, Lemon Aioli, Red Onion, House-made Pickles, and Brioche Bun served with a choice of Petite Caesar Salad, Steak Frites, or Pasta Salad. Stack Burger Now this is a solid choice! This is usually one of our favorites and for good reason. The meat and the cheese were so juicy and worked well together. The lemon aioli brought in subtle flavor, but the star was the patty and cheese. The red onion and pickles gave it a beautiful crunch and a bit of acid, and the pork belly was a fun addition. It’s the same pork belly from the Bacon and Eggs, so it had that nice sweetness and melt-in-your-mouth texture. We do wish our server had asked how we wanted our burger cooked, because it was more cooked than we would have preferred, but it was still so juicy and a great choice. We went with the fries that were too thin or too thick and were lightly seasoned. So many toppings Drinks For our drink, we tried the Blackberry-Orange Spritz for $16.50. This is made with Ketel One Peach & Orange Blossom Vodka, Rockey’s Botanical Liqueur, Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, and Blackberry. Blackberry Orange Spritz This drink wasn’t too strong but was a light and refreshing drink that is perfect for those who love a drink but not the harsh taste of alcohol. It was fruity, almost like a softer sangria, and there was a faint orange taste that became stronger the more we drank. It was nice to sip on throughout our meal, and it felt like a good drink for a lounge atmosphere. It’s pretty, too Nosh or Not You need to head to the Steakhouse 71 Lounge if… You are looking for a quicker dining experience — While we love the main restaurant of Steakhouse 71, there’s no doubt that stopping in for a drink and appetizer can be very tempting after a long day in the parks. Now, we wouldn’t say this is a lightning-fast experience, but it is faster than a traditional restaurant. You’re here for the appetizers — Hey, we get it! Sometimes you don’t want an entree and an appetizer, and a drink is all you need. You’re going to thrive off the lounge environment and enjoy bites like the onion rings. You’re heading to date night — If you and your significant other are looking for a quick and easy date night that feels a little fancy without breaking the bank, look no further. Since it’s located in the Contemporary, you won’t be able to park without a reservation (which you don’t get for the lounge), but you can take the monorail over from the Transportation & Ticket Center or walk from Magic Kingdom. You’re probably okay to skip if… You’re traveling with the family — While kids can’t sit at the bar, they can sit at the tables, but they might not love the experience as much as the restaurant. If you’re traveling with a larger party, you might enjoy space at a table as well. You want a full sit-down experience — Lucky for you, the Steakhouse 71 Lounge is attached to Steakhouse 71, which is the full restaurant. You’ll be able to get the same menu items and drinks, but in a full-service environment. You don’t want to trek to the Contemporary — The Contemporary Resort can be convenient if you are already at Magic Kingdom, are staying at the resort, or don’t mind taking the monorail, but since you don’t have a reservation, it can be frustrating to not be able to park at the resort, and you’ll need to add extra travel time to your meal. Our meal Overall The Steakhouse 71 Lounge is such a fun stop with its retro vibes and flavorful food. We love the appetizers and sipping on a drink, and the lounge environment can be a lot of fun for a date night or catching up with friends. The Stack Burger is one of our favorites and is coated with cheese and goodness, and the Onion Rings are also classics you don’t want to miss. If the food sounds delicious but not the lounge vibes, don’t forget to head to Steakhouse 71 next door. 19. You guys, I’ve been waiting on my favorite Disney World ride to reopen for what feels like AGES. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad That’s right, I’m a die-hard Big Thunder Mountain Railroad fan, and it has been closed since January 2025 (I miss it so much!). It’s set to reopen in early May 2026, but we don’t have a specific date yet. The good news? Ride testing is underway! When one of our reporters visited Magic Kingdom on April 1st, she spotted sandbags in the mine cars on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This is a method of testing they use on rides before they open or reopen to make sure they’re safe for the public. See the sandbags? The train was absolutely loaded down from front to back, but it was taking that hill like a CHAMP! It feels so good to see this roller coaster running again. Go train go! Big Thunder got a handful of updates during its closure. The biggest changes are that the backstory of the ride has changed slightly, and they’re adding in the Rainbow Caverns scene! Now, when you enter the caverns, they’ll be colorful…and a bit more dangerous (Disney has said there will be rumblings). ©Disney Also, the ride got all-new track to make the experience a bit smoother, and there will be new lighting and effects throughout. Of course, we’ll be there when it reopens to check it out and report back on the changes. Construction currently I can’t wait to enjoy the wildest ride in the wilderness again in the future! 21. If you have a trip to Disneyland Resort planned for April, you’re going to have to prepare for the park to look a little different. Disneyland As we get closer to summertime, it looks like some popular attractions at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are getting hit with refurbishment closures. Let’s take a look at what’s closing and when so you can plan accordingly. Three rides have just joined a long Disneyland refurbishment list, and all of their closures begin in April. These will be temporary closures for what looks to be basic refurbishment work. However, there is no end date for any of these rides as of right now! Disney California Adventure Toy Story Mania Staying in Disney California Adventure, Toy Story Mania will also be closing for refurbishment. The closure will begin on April 6th, with no opening date listed through the current end of the calendar on the Disneyland website. You’ll have a few more days to hit one of the park’s most popular attractions before it closes. Toy Story Midway Mania Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters Over in Disneyland Park, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters will be closing for refurbishment on April 13th, with no opening date confirmed. One Buzz Lightyear ride finally opens in Disney World, while the other one closes in Disneyland. Astro Blasters Silly Symphony Swings The Silly Symphony Swings at Disney California Adventure will be closing on April 27th, with no official opening date. Well, there were some unfortunate incidents for TWO Disney characters. That is ROUGH man! This one’s probably going to require more immediate repair and likely some kind of deterrent to keep the wildlife away. That hair is not nest material, folks! 24. If you’ve ever walked through the France Pavilion in EPCOT and felt completely overwhelmed by the pastry case at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, you are not alone. Les Halles Boulangerie Pâtisserie There’s so much going on in there that it’s genuinely easy to overlook something spectacular, and that’s exactly what almost happened to us with the Citron. We’d never heard of it. The people standing in line around us had never heard of it either. It wasn’t showing up in the My Disney Experience app, which is probably a big part of why it flies so far under the radar. But it was right there on the menu board, sitting pretty at $7.95, and we figured we had nothing to lose. We’re so glad we went for it. What Is the Citron? The Citron is a flaky puff pastry filled with a lemon cream base and topped with a generous pile of fresh blueberries. Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Pâtisserie The outside of the pastry is dusted with powdered sugar, which adds just the right amount of sweetness to the shell without going overboard. It sounds simple, and in a way it is, but the combination of flavors and textures here is doing a lot of work in the best possible way. Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Pâtisserie How Did It Taste? Really, really good. Let us just get that out of the way first. Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie The lemon cream base and the blueberries together are genuinely tart. We’re talking pucker-up tart, especially if you’re getting bites from the center of the pastry where everything is concentrated. On its own, that tartness might be a little much for some people. But the pastry crust is the key player here, and it completely changes the equation. When you get a bite that includes the flaky, powdered-sugar-coated pastry along with the lemon and blueberry, the flavors even out into something that is perfectly balanced and honestly just really satisfying. Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie The pastry is doing real heavy lifting, and we think it deserves its flowers. Without it, this would be a very tart fruit-and-cream situation. With it, you have a well-rounded, layered bite that feels considered and intentional, the kind of thing you expect from a French patisserie. Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie Our one small critique: the filling is concentrated in the center of the pastry rather than spread throughout. We would have loved for the lemon cream and blueberries to run through more of the pastry, so every bite had that full flavor combination. As it is, some bites are mostly pastry, and while the pastry is good, we wanted more of that lemon-blueberry punch throughout. Definitely something to keep in mind as you eat through it strategically. A Fair Warning The blueberries aren’t shy. They will roll, they will tumble, and they will make a small scene if you are not prepared. Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie Bring napkins. Bring a lot of napkins. This is not a graceful snack to eat on the go, but it is absolutely worth the minor chaos. Should You Order the Citron? Yes. Full stop. Kids will love it, adults will love it, and honestly, anyone with a soft spot for lemon desserts needs to make this a priority on their next EPCOT visit. At $7.95, it’s a genuinely great value for the quality you are getting. Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie Next time you are at Les Halles, and you find yourself staring into that pastry case, don’t let the Citron get lost in the shuffle. It is one of the best snack finds we have had in the France Pavilion in a long time, and it deserves way more attention than it is currently getting. More Recent Reviews!
