  1. Another change is coming to Disney Springs soon, and we can already see traces of it beginning, even if nothing is happening physically in the shopping and dining district just yet. Ghirardelli at Disney Springs It was recently announced that Ghirardelli will be temporarily moving to a new spot in Disney Springs while the building its been in for 30 years undergoes a pretty extensive refurbishment. There’s been no timeline announced to help us prepare for when this change will actually begin, but now we have a hint that things are moving along. A new permit has been filed for the Ghirardelli signage to be installed on the new temporary location in Town Center. The permit has been prepared by Dynamic Aspects, and we know the address of the building is listed as 1676 A E Buena Vista Dr., Lake Buena Vista, Florida. New Permit We’re so relieved that we’ll still be able to visit Ghirardelli during the building’s refurbishment, but the relocation also indicates to us that a lot of work is needed in the original building. We know that Ghirardelli should be back in its regular spot by Spring 2027, and that the new shop will feature increased guest seating, more efficient guest checkout, and a “few surprises.” Ghirardelli Lands End Salted Caramel Brownie Sundae In a recent release, Lacey Zane, Vice President of Restaurant & Retail at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, said, “Disney Springs has been a cherished home for Ghirardelli for nearly 30 years, and we are proud of the magical chocolate memories we’ve helped create for guests from around the world. Our longstanding relationship with Disney is an important part of that story, and this next chapter allows us to thoughtfully evolve the space while honoring its legacy. We look forward to continuing to serve guests at our temporary location in Town Center during this transition and unveiling an updated space in 2027.” Ghirardelli Looking for more recent Disney Springs news? 2. An integral piece of a famous Disney character has passed away. ©D23 Actress Margaret Kerry has passed away at the age of 97. Kerry has several accolades across her long career, with her most notable role being the model for Tinker Bell in 1953’s Peter Pan. In a Facebook post to Kerry’s page, her family shared, “It is with profound sadness that we share news of the passing of Margaret Kerry (Boeke), our beloved Tinker Bell. Margaret passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 11, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her three adoring children, Ellen, Christina, and Eric, were with her as she lost her courageous battle with lung cancer at the age of ninety-seven.” They continued to say, “And remember, on any given night, look up into the night sky and search for that ‘Second Star to the Right’. Upon closer look, you might just notice that star shining a little brighter in Margaret’s honor.” ©Getty Images Before modeling for Disney, Kerry starred as daughter Sharon Ruggles on the live ABC family sitcom The Ruggles from 1949 until 1952. This was one of the first TV shows to come from Hollywood and not New York. She later worked as a voice actress in Clutch Cargo in 1959, Space Angel from 1962 to 1964, Captain Fathom in 1965, and on The New Three Stooges in 1965. Kerry is on the left on the top row. ©Everett Collection Kerry starred with Eddie Cantor in If You Knew Susie in 1948 and was an assistant dance director on I’ll Get By in 1950, when her agent sent her to the Disney Studios in Burbank so she could audition for Peter Pan. In a previous interview, Kerry shared, “They were looking for a young girl who was comfortable with dance movement. How do you audition for animation and for a character who doesn’t speak? At home, I had a room set up, my dance room, with all these mirrors and a barre. So I got this little record player and put on an instrumental record and worked up a pantomime making breakfast to the beat of the record; you know, carrying eggs and maybe dropping one, closing the refrigerator door with one foot, etc., as much variety of movement as I could do in the context of a little story.” ©IMDb Once she got the job, she worked for the next six to nine months, and she moved around on a soundstage that “seemed to go on forever,” wearing a bathing suit and her hair in a bun. During that time, she worked with men like Marc David and other Disney animators. Kerry said, “There was no one for me to react to. I had to imagine almost everything. There was an occasional prop like huge scissors or a wire-frame keyhole or something. Most of the time, it was just me pretending to be looking up from under something or walking around.” ©Disney Tinker Bell went on to become a truly iconic Disney character who became a mascot for the brand in many ways. Tinker Bell opened each episode of The Wonderful World of Disney by sprinkling her pixie dust, and she still meets with fans in Disneyland to this day. She still has a presence over in Disney World in the Festival of Fantasy Parade and the finale of Soarin’. Tinker Bell eventually had her own series of films under the Disney Fairies brand. There is even a Tinker Bell-inspired ride in Tokyo Disney Sea. Tinker Bell and Fawn in Disney World In a 2020 interview, Kerry said, “They liked the character that I came up with. She’s feisty, and I call her beguiling. You love her if she’s very bad, and you love her if she’s very good.” Thank you so much, Margaret Kerry, for helping create a character we love so much. We are sending our thoughts to her family and friends at this time. View the full article
  3. It’s easy to forget that even at Disney World, you can still encounter wildlife! Do not feed the wildlife Disney World tries its best to maintain the property and watch for critters to limit encounters with dangerous wildlife as much as possible. Since the tragic passing of the toddler by an alligator attack 10 years ago at Grand Floridian Resort, Disney has removed over 400 alligators. As reported by News 6, “Wildlife trappers have captured and removed at least 414 nuisance alligators from Walt Disney World property since a toddler was killed by an alligator at a Disney resort ten years ago.” Over the 10 years following the incident, state-contracted wildlife trappers have removed an average of 23 alligators from Disney property, according to records from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Do not feed wildlife In the year of the fatal attack (2106), 83 alligators were removed from Disney World. In 2017, 57 alligators were captured. From 2018 to 2025, an average of 36 alligators were removed from Disney property annually, and at least a dozen were captured in the first four months of 2026. Magic Kingdom “In keeping with our strong commitment to safety, we continue to reinforce procedures related to reporting sightings and interactions with wildlife, and work closely with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to remove or relocate certain wildlife from our property in accordance with state regulations,” a Walt Disney World spokesperson told News 6 in 2021 in response to questions about the ongoing alligator removals. Hollywood Studios It’s important to be aware that alligators are very dangerous animals, and you need to stay alert when around bodies of water. News 6 said, “to address complaints about potentially dangerous alligators, the FWC administers the Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program, or SNAP.” “The goal of SNAP is to proactively address alligator threats in developed areas, while conserving alligators in areas where they naturally occur,” said FWC communications coordinator Hailee Seely. “People with concerns about an alligator should call FWC’s toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286), and we will dispatch a contracted nuisance alligator trapper to resolve the situation.” Be aware of bodies of water The FWC made a list of precautionary measures to reduce the chances of conflicts with alligators. Take a look at the list: Keep a safe distance if you see an alligator Keep pets on a leash and away from the water’s edge. Pets often resemble alligators’ natural prey. Swim only in designated swimming areas during daylight hours and without your pet. Alligators are most active between dusk and dawn. Never feed an alligator. It’s illegal and dangerous. When fed, alligators can lose their natural wariness and instead learn to associate people with the availability of food. This can lead to an alligator becoming a nuisance and needing to be removed from the wild. If someone is concerned about an alligator, they should call FWC’s toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286), and we will dispatch a contracted nuisance alligator trapper to resolve the situation. Be careful around water Disney cares about the safety of guests more than anything else, so they will continue to work on making sure Disney World is the safest it can possibly be, and then some. 4. Disneyland is getting some new updates! Disneyland Train Station In case you missed it, one of the most iconic Disneyland attractions is getting some major updates right now. While we wait to see the dinosaurs roam again, Disney also revealed that even more updates are coming to the famous ride! Disneyland is rebuilding a train station building in New Orleans Square! This building was severely damaged more than three years ago because of an after-hours fire. According to the Orange County Register, Disney was issued a permit by the City of Anaheim to rebuild the radio house, which was previously an employee breakroom. Damage from the fire taken in 2022 The fire first occurred in 2022, but the building wasn’t demolished until 2025. The permit details a 357-square-foot building that will have new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems inside it. It will once again be an employee breakroom and restroom. Disneyland officials have confirmed it will look similar to the previous building. New Orleans Square Train Station in 2019 The new building will have an ADA-compliant pathway that will go over the train tracks for Cast Members to access the breakroom, according to Disneyland officials. The office previously played a continuous morse code message that was Walt Disney’s opening day dedication speech from 1955. New Orleans Square Train Station in October 2025 This isn’t the only work going on with the Disneyland Railroad. In Tomorrowland, the famous scene in the ride that takes you back to the time of the Dinosaurs is also getting a big overhaul. The scene, which contains animatronic dinosaurs, is currently covered up with some stand-in cutouts in place. The Dinosaur scene! Currently, Disneyland has several closures and refurbishments going on! 7. Well, here we are again, writing the type of post that pains us to do so basically every time it happens, because we’re talking about something that we all groan at — price increases. Pain au Chocolat from Les Halles One of our favorite spots to stop for a snack in EPCOT is Les Halles, but we’re far from the only people who have the same idea, because you’ll normally find the line here to be TOTALLY out the door. It moves fast, most of the time, but in our experience, the line is worth it to try some of the delicious offerings they have in the case. If it’s one of your favorite spots as well, we’ve got some bad news — 16 new price increases just hit the menu, and we’re not happy about it. Multiple items throughout the Les Halles menu in numerous different categories have all gone up in price, which means you’ll need to budget more for them on your next trip. The menu changes you need to know about are as follows: Poulet au Pistou: was $11.50, now $11.95 Poulet au Pistou Croissant Jambon Fromage: was $6.95, now $7.95 Croissant Jambon Fromage Jambon Beurre: was $10.95, now $11.25 Jambon Beurre Quiche Lorraine: was $7.25, now $7.50 Quiche Lorraine Pissaladiere: was $5.95, now $6.95 Pissaladiere Croque Monsieur: was $10.50, now $10.75 Croque Monsieur Croissant: was $3.25, now $3.95 Croissant Pain au Chocolat: was $4.25, now $4.95 Pain au Chocolat Croissant Amandes: was $6.75, now $6.95 Croissant Amandes Tarte aux Fraises: was $7.25, now $7.75 Macarons Collection: was $13.50, now $13.75 Macarons Collection Framboise: was $7.50, now $7.95 Framboise Espresso: was $5.15, now $5.25 Sirop Monin: was $1.25, now $1.50 Mimosa: was $12.75, now $12.95 Frosé: was $15.75, now $15.95 Les Halles Frosé While these price increases may not seem like too much, the largest of them being $1, it does absolutely add up, especially if this is the start of multiple price increases across the resort. We’ll be sure to keep a close eye out, so you can budget in the most effective way for your next trip. More Recent Price Increase News 16 (!!!) 8. Big things are happening at one of Disney World’s Deluxe resorts! The Former Jellyrolls After what felt like an eternity of sitting vacant, construction and related permits indicate big changes are finally coming to some long-abandoned spaces at Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls Let’s begin with the former site of Jellyrolls, the resort’s longtime dueling piano bar location, which shut its doors back in April, 2025. Construction has been moving fast and furiously (but not the Fast and Furious, which is happening over at Universal), as all evidence of Jellyrolls and its marquee has been removed from the building… The former entrance …while the interior appears to have been completely gutted. Current state of Jellyrolls While Disney has yet to officially confirm what exactly is coming to the space, or even if it will be a Disney property or a third-party establishment, the extent of construction would indicate that something is coming soon, which would be a much-needed boon for the resort, especially if it’s a nightlife establishment. However, the former site of Jellyrolls isn’t the only building on the Boardwalk where something significant is happening. Projects “Amazon” and “Bubbles” Earlier this year, Disney filed construction permits for two projects at the BoardWalk, one titled “Project Amazon” and one titled “Project Bubbles” AKA Project A and B. Project Amazon is set to replace Big River Grille & Brewing Works, a major restaurant space that has been shuttered since all the way back in 2024. The former Big River Grille & Brewing Works Meanwhile, Project Bubbles is slated for the large space that formerly housed the Promenade Fine Art Gallery, which closed in 2025. Promenade Fine Art Gallery In early June, Walt Disney Imagineering filed a new Notice of Commencement permit to install signage at the BoardWalk. The project’s contractor is Design Communications Ltd., a custom sign fabricator specializing in architectural specialties and experiential signage that has worked with Disney on both the Walt Disney Studios and the upcoming Monstropolis projects in Hollywood Studios. Work on potential signage indicates to us that the nature of these projects could officially be revealed soon. Construction at the BoardWalk Disney’s BoardWalk is set to enter a new era with major construction finally replacing some of the hotel’s long-shuttered buildings. Stay tuned to DFB for further updates on these upcoming projects. 10. We’re just a few short weeks away from the Fourth of July in Disney World, which is usually quite the major holiday. Fourth of July Fireworks in Magic Kingdom If you’ll be in the parks, we warn you to prepare for intense crowds and long wait times, all in the intense Florida heat, so be sure to bring your cooling towels, fans, and UV umbrellas (plus ponchos, because those summer rain storms WILL get you). However, there’s something else we need to warn you about that could make a comeback, and it could severely limit some of your transportation options around the resort if you’re traveling from Disney Springs. Back in April, we saw something interesting hit Disney Springs. Due to the higher volume of people in the parks, Disney set up partitions around the Disney Springs bus depot and was checking guests’ hotel or dining reservations before they could get in line for whatever bus they were looking for. Blockades put up The reason for this? To limit the amount of casual traffic heading to hotels, which, yes, meant no resort hopping — at least, not from Disney Springs. This was the only area we saw the partitions up, as you were able to hop on any hotel bus you wanted from the four theme parks. This was a pretty controversial move, as many guests felt like being able to see hotels gives them an idea for where they may want to stay for future trips, but fortunately, it was only in place for about a week. Guest Relations Cast Member at Disney Springs When we spoke to Cast Members, though, it was mentioned that the restrictions could return during other busy times of the year, which could include the Fourth of July. So far, we haven’t seen the blockades return since Easter, but this is also, arguably, the first major holiday since then. We’ll be sure to keep a close eye out and let you know the moment we see them, if they go up. Disney Bus If they do go back up, there are ways to get around the restrictions. For one, if there’s a restaurant you’ve been meaning to dine at anyway, it may be a great time to book that reservation to check something off your bucket list and prepare at the same time. You can also head over to EPCOT to take the ferry around to different hotels, or walk to them via the BoardWalk. Additionally, you can head to the TTC to take the Resort Monorail and check out the three Magic Kingdom area hotels, and then at Magic Kingdom itself, you could hop on a bus to wherever you’d like to go. 11. It is a sea of construction in Disney World these days, especially over in Hollywood Studios! Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular Hollywood Studios currently has several projects going on, like the new Walt Disney Studios Land, Monstropolis, and the secretive Project Fedora. Disney’s newest permit now has us raising our eyebrows and begging for new details! Disney, what in the world is going on? In a new Notice of Commencement filed with Orange County, Disney has detailed more work coming to Hollywood Studios. The permit was filed by Walt Disney Imagineering for 225 Cypress Drive, Bay Lake, FL, 32830. Not sure where that is? It’s right near Project Fedora! ©Central Florida Tourism Oversight District The general description of the work is detailed as “Install signage.” The contractor is Kentavo who Disney has worked with in the past to install signage in EPCOT. Previously, Disney filed permits for general construction near this area, but they haven’t revealed a ton of details. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular The name is what leads us to think these changes are connected to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. They have until June 10th, 2027, to complete the work connected to this specific permit, but we don’t think it will take quite that long. While we don’t know details, we do have a few guesses on what could be coming. We think this could either be a new snack cart, a small souvenir stand, or even a new meet and greet (although the last one is the most unlikely). We’re excited for any changes! We’re eager to see what these changes will be, especially because Indiana Jones is currently in the process of moving over to Animal Kingdom as well. Not the show, but the character! In Disney’s upcoming Tropical Americas-inspired land, Pueblo Esperanza, there is going to be a brand-new Indiana Jones-inspired attraction. The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones. The new ride will be a totally original story, but it will feature the same ride technology as Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure attraction. Disney has shared that the attraction will follow “the man with the hat” during a time when he has “recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.” The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones. We are patiently (or not so patiently) awaiting more news on exactly what could be coming to Hollywood Studios, but you know we will be tracking every step of the process! 12. There is something about Disney’s new America 250 celebration that feels a little different from many recent Disney announcements. Maybe it is the return of patriotic music and Americana imagery. Maybe it is the focus on Main Street U.S.A., Voices of Liberty, and family traditions. Maybe it is Soarin’ Across America, replacing a more global […] The post Why Disney’s America 250 Celebration Feels Different appeared first on Military Disney Tips. View the full article

  15. Disney World Annual Passholders get a TON of perks around the parks and beyond. In addition to getting year-round admission to the parks, Passholders also get exclusive ride previews, merchandise, and even food and drinks! Annual Pass We recently stopped by FIVE different Joffrey’s locations around Disney World to snag some exclusive Annual Passholder drinks, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Are they worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! From June 2nd through July 31st, Annual Passholders who visit all four parks and Disney Springs can purchase a V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days exclusive Joffrey’s beverage in each one. Exclusive to each location, Passholders must visit all five locations to purchase all five drinks — and once you do, you get a Passholder-exclusive coffee sleeve! You’ll get this little stamp card… Coffee crawl card …and once you collect all five, you can snag your new coffee sleeve. This is definitely a drink crawl for coffee lovers, and we made our way around Disney World trying all the exclusive drinks. You can read all of our reviews below! Collect the stamps Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Forbidden Mountain Cold Brew (inspired by Expedition Everest) This is a legendary mixture of cold brew, honey syrup, and a splash of cream, topped with whipped cream and honey cereal on top, and you can get it for $7.49. Forbidden Mountain Cold Brew This was traditional Joffrey’s cold brew with the perfect amount of sweetness from the honey syrup. If you like whipped cream, it adds just the right amount of cream to the coffee once you mix it in or let it melt. The cereal on top didn’t do much for the coffee, but it made for an Instagrammable photo. It got a little bit soggy as we were drinking the coffee, too. Overall, this one was a great, slightly sweet cold brew that we’d get again! Forbidden Mountain Cold Brew Magic Kingdom Park: Lucky Star Cold Brew (inspired by Disney Starlight) This is a dreamy blend of cold brew, toasted marshmallow syrup, and a splash of cream, pixie-dusted with sweetened cereal, whipped cream, and fluffy marshmallows on top. This one is also $7.49. Lucky Star Cold Brew This one was definitely on the sweeter side, so if sweet coffee isn’t your thing — you might want to skip this one! The marshmallow flavor is very apparent, and our reporter loved it, but did comment that it made the coffee cloyingly sweet. To us, it kind of reminded us of cereal milk, which makes sense since there was the addition of the totally-not-Lucky-Charms cereal on top. Lucky Star Cold Brew EPCOT: Parisian Pebble Cold Brew (inspired by Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure) We grabbed this French fusion of fruit-flavored cereal, cold brew, and a splash of cream, garnished with whipped cream and fruity cereal on top, all for $7.49. Parisian Pebble Cold Brew This one was a big swing…and ultimately a miss. It’s a strange combination of flavors for a coffee drink since the fruit cereal adds a definitively fruity flavor. It tastes like a regular iced cold brew at first, but then you get a weird aftertaste of what feels like best described as the memory of a Fruity Pebble, and not in a good way. The whipped cream tastes more like actual Fruity Pebbles than the rest of the drink, but unless you eat them first, they definitely just get soggy. This wasn’t our favorite out of the drinks we tried by any means. Parisian Pebble Cold Brew Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Rockin’ Cold Brew (inspired by Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets) This is an electric blend of cold brew, chocolate & peanut butter flavoring, and a splash of cream, encored with whipped cream and chocolate peanut butter puff cereal on top for $7.49. Rockin’ Cold Brew This cold brew is 10 times better than the fruity pebbles one! This one tastes like a mocha with a peanut butter aftertaste, which we think is a perfect choice for a coffee drink. The peanut butter puffs last longer than the other cereals in these drinks. The Rockin’ Cold Brew succeeds at tasting like cereal milk, while the others somewhat miss the mark. Mocha fans and chocolate fans are going to want to try this drink. It’s most definitely worth a try if you like your coffee sweet with a hint of sweetness! Rockin’ Cold Brew Disney Springs: Cinnamon Crunch Latte This is an iced latte flavored with cinnamon and topped with whipped cream and cinnamon-squared cereal. Grab it for $7.19. Cinnamon Crunch Latte We really wanted this to be more cinnamon-forward, but it just kind of fell flat. It was a tasty latte overall, but it wasn’t anything special other than the occasional hint of cinnamon. If you just like a subtle flavor in your coffee, this might be perfect for you. It wasn’t overly sweet, which we appreciated as the other drinks in this lineup were on the sweeter side. Cinnamon Crunch Latte Grab these exclusive drinks before July 31st — then it will be too late! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 16. Taking a voyage on the Disney Cruise Line is one of the most fun experiences this Disney adult has ever had, but there are certain things I’d wish I’d known beforehand. Disney Wish One of the MAJOR ones had to do with the climate in my stateroom, and it’s SO EASY to make. Each stateroom on Disney’s ships features personal climate controls so that passengers can set their room to the exact temperature they desire for sleep or simply lounging in their cabin. To activate the air conditioning, as well as your room’s lights, you’ll need to leave a key card inserted into a wall slot. Any card of this type will do, and recently Disney has even provided blank keys for this purpose. Disney Destiny Oceanview with Verandah Stateroom However, before you tuck yourself into bed for a good night’s sleep on the high seas, there’s something you need to remember to do: CLOSE YOUR BALCONY DOOR! See, if you leave the verandah door open — even a crack — the AC in your room will turn off automatically to prevent condensation from building up in your room, leaving you with two choices: Deal with the heat, or get yourself out of bed to make sure the door is securely closed. Oceanview Verandah Speaking of ruining your Disney Cruise, an easy way to do so before you even reach your stateroom is trying to bring a banned item on board. The Disney Cruise Line has a relatively long and strict list of items that can’t be brought on board, including: Weapons & Firearms Marijuana & Illicit Drugs Blenders Bottle Sterilizers and Warmers Coffee Makers Coolers Diffusers Electric Blankets Electric Irons and Steamers Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB) Extension Cords, Power Strips, Multi-Plugs, and Surge Protectors Ham Radios Heating Elements Heating Pads Hookah Pipes Hot Plates Metal Detectors Microwave Ovens Power Tools, Hand Tools, and Toolboxes Remote-Controlled Airplanes, Drones, Toy Vehicles, Star Wars Droids Rice Cookers Toasters and Toaster Ovens Seasonal and/or Strands of Celebratory Lightbulbs Streaming Devices (Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, etc.) Disney Dream room door Whether you’re preparing for your first or fiftieth Disney Cruise, be sure to keep these things in mind so you don’t inadvertently ruin your trip. 17. Choosing a date for your Disney World vacation can be challenging, but if you’re on a tight budget, we’re here to help! All-Star Music The fall is a time of year when it’s notoriously a little cheaper to visit Disney World or stay in a Disney Resort. We did the research, and we’re sharing the cheapest nights to stay at a Disney hotel this fall…let’s get to planning! Before we dive in, if you’re interested in planning a trip to Disney World this fall, we recommend booking with our friends at Small World Vacations. They’re experts in the field with years of experience planning Disney trips, and they can help you find the best deals for your trip, even applying deals to your hotel stay if they come available after you book. We’ll give you the tips and news, but their expertise will make sure the planning process is smooth. Now, on to the cheapest days for you to stay! To gather this data, we looked at nightly rates for both a Value Resort and a Deluxe Resort throughout the entire fall season, marking down the nights that had the cheapest rates. We were a little bit surprised by our findings, as the actual cheapest nights varied a bit between the two hotels. Disney’s Contemporary Resort At Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, the cheapest dates from September 21st-December 21st fell during the months of October and November. That’s a little unusual, considering we often think of September as the cheapest month to go. At the Contemporary Resort, September was indeed the cheapest of the months. So it goes to show that price can vary depending on hotel as well as room type. If you’re curious about your specific resort, it’s a good idea to look around at a few different dates and compare. All-Star Music Resort September 21st-24th September 28th-30th October 1st October 5th-7th October 12th-14th October 19th-21st October 26th-28th November 2nd-4th November 9th-11th November 16th-18th Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter If you notice, most of these dates fall on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Those are typically the cheapest nights of the week to stay in a Disney Resort, with prices rising on Friday and Saturday nights in particular, since it’s more popular to visit on the weekends. A few of the dates in the list fall on a Thursday. Bay Lake Tower If you’re visiting this fall, there are a few dates to avoid if you’re looking to save money. Thanksgiving week is fairly expensive and usually quite crowded. The same goes for Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day weekend — anytime there’s a holiday, there will be more folks in the parks and at the resorts. Also, prices really start to jump as you get into December. You’ll notice no December dates make it on the list, even though it’s still technically fall for the first three weeks of the month. 19. There’s just something about Pixar movies that hits differently, which is probably why many of them have been so successful. This year has been a great year for Pixar movies, too, with the release of Hoppers, as well as Toy Story 5, which even has a new original Taylor Swift song on its soundtrack. ©Pixar So what’s Pixar’s next move? Well, the company previously mentioned a feature it’s been working on called Gatto, and now, the first teaser trailer for that movie has arrived — and let’s just say that Disney fans are STOKED. So it seems like Disney might have a hit on its hands, thanks to the subject matter (gotta’ love cats!) and its unique animation style. 20. When we’re in EPCOT craving a snack, the Japan Pavilion is our go-to spot. Where else in Disney World can you get sushi, sake, and kakigōri all in one place? A5 Wagyu Nigiri Combo We love the quick-service stand Kabuki Cafe for a quick, authentic meal, but recently, we saw a new menu item that shook us to our core – you can now get quick-service wagyu in Disney World! The A5 Wagyu Nigiri Combo is $16.50 at Kabuki Cafe. It includes four pieces of California Roll and three pieces of A5 Japanese Wagyu Nigiri. A5 Wagyu Nigiri Combo The California Roll is your classic avocado crab roll. This is the same as the regular California Roll on the menu, which is made with avocado, cucumber, imitation crab, mayonnaise, and smelt roe. It’s very fresh thanks to the cucumber, and packed with earthy avocado and savory crab. California Roll But the real star of the show? The wagyu! The meat itself is chewy and lightly salted for flavor. The tender texture of the wagyu paired well with the crispy rice. There’s also a thin sauce on this. At first, we thought it might be eel sauce, but when we tried it on its own, it tasted salty, similar to steak sauce. Regardless, it really enhanced the flavor, making this a tasty yet complex nigiri. Wagyu Nigiri We loved this Wagyu Nigiri and wished that we could get it on its own. 21. We’re in the market of trying all the “viral” items we find online that people say you need for Disney World or Disneyland trips, solely because we need to see if that’s ACTUALLY the truth, or if you can actually save some money and forgo grabbing whatever it is. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers We’ve tried some “essentials” that are far from it, and we actually recommend you stay far away from them, but we’ll also be honest and say there have also been many that we DO feel are necessary, even ones that we thought would be a total waste. In fact, one of the ones we were most skeptical about was those silicone shoe covers we saw go viral on TikTok. We thought they’d be totally useless, but alas, we were proven VERY wrong. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. It rains a LOT in Disney World, especially during the summer season. We often talk about how important it is to bring umbrellas and/or ponchos into the park, because the last thing you want is to be soaking wet for the remainder of a Disney World day. It may not seem that bad, but when you’re all wet, and then you walk into a restaurant or ride with BLASTING AC? Yep, you’ll regret it almost immediately. Rainy Day in Magic Kingdom Shoe Covers Save The Day! While clothes can dry out decently quickly, especially on hot days, shoes and socks are a different story. While some people can walk around the parks in open-toed shoes all day and not have issues, we do recommend sneakers for the support they provide. When those get wet, though? That’s a recipe for blisters, and those can quickly ruin the rest of your trip. That’s where the Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers come into play, and though they look silly, we can say firsthand that they DO help. Shoe Covers! All you have to do is put these on over your shoes and zip them up! If you’re in between shoe sizes, we recommend sizing up, just to be on the safe side, to ensure the zipper on top can close entirely. We put them on during a downpour in Magic Kingdom, and after just about 10 minutes, when we looked at our reporter, who didn’t have them on, and compared the dryness of our own shoes to theirs, we knew these were golden. Easy to put on! Now, if it’s raining particularly hard and you’re walking against the rain, meaning the rain is rolling down your legs towards your feet, that’s where you may notice some drops slipping through, so they’re not completely foolproof. However, they will save your socks from creating blisters that will hurt with every step for the rest of your trip, and we think THAT is a massive win. This way, too, you can still walk around the parks while it rains instead of hiding inside or under an overhang. Grab them here! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news and help you plan/pack for your trip, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article
  22. Some big changes have hit Animal Kingdom recently, largely thanks to Bluey! The entrance to the Wildlife Express Bluey’s Wild World opened up at Conservation Station near the end of May, and it has been popular ever since. When it first opened, the experience required a virtual queue, but now there’s a standby line to see the Bluey show. However, that’s not the only offering out there — Jumping Junction is where you can meet some creatures native to Australia and it’s testing a big upgrade. To visit Jumping Junction, you’ll need to board the Wildlife Express train in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom and ride out to Conservation Station. Bluey’s Wild World is located inside the main building there, but outdoors, Jumping Junction takes over the former home of the Affection Section. Here, you can see kangaroos and wallabies. Jumping Junction When Jumping Junction first opened, you would only be able to see the animals from afar, but now, the park is testing the ability to walk through the kangaroo and wallaby enclosure. You are not allowed to pet or touch the animals, but the walkthrough experience gives you a close-up look while a keeper gives you background information about the creatures. Groups lined up to go in During our visit, testing involved bringing small groups of about 10 people through the enclosure, making sure that you continue walking the whole time so as not to trigger the animals’ territorial instincts. The goal is to slowly introduce groups and increase the comfort levels of the animals over time. Heading inside If you get the chance to do a walkthrough, the keeper guiding your group will give fun facts about the kangaroos and wallabies. There are 15 animals in the enclosure currently, and five of them have little joeys in their pouches! One of the group is a male red kangaroo, and he’s the only of his species at Jumping Junction because his species is known for being territorial. There they are! On June 11th when we stopped by, these tours were being paused as needed throughout the day, so it’s not a guarantee that they’ll be available when you visit. The comfort of the animals is the priority, so the keepers are keeping a close watch the whole time and will pause everything if they sense that the kangaroos or wallabies are getting restless. The pathway We’ll be interested to see how procedures for this change over time. The hope is that as the animals get more relaxed in their new home, Animal Kingdom will be able to open the enclosure for guests to visit freely. We’ll let you know if any more updates happen. 24. This January, Disney started repainting the iconic Cinderella Castle in a new blue-and-white color scheme. The castle has now officially been repainted at Magic Kingdom, and it’s looking great! Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle So when we went on the My Disney Experience app while in Magic Kingdom this morning, we noticed a massive change to the castle! Now that Cinderella Castle has a finished makeover, the My Disney Experience app has been updated with the new blue-and-white look! Isn’t she a beaut? ©Disney The page for Cinderella Castle has also been updated, featuring a new photo of the color palette behind the Partners Statue! It looks amazing next to Walt and Mickey himself. ©Disney But Cinderella Castle isn’t the only change coming to the My Disney Experience app. Disney will be rolling out new app and website updates over the next few months to take some of the stress out of Disney World vacation planning. These updates will include a trip checklist, an AI-powered search, and updated booking tools. ©Disney The app will get a redesigned home page so it’s easier to find the information you’re looking for, including your trip details, reservations, travel parties, and planning reminders. The homepage will be organized more around your actual vacation. A new trip checklist feature will keep you from forgetting things like Lightning Lane booking windows, dining reservations, hotel check-in, and more. The app’s search feature will be improved via AI. Disney also plans on making trip sharing much easier. ©Disney The idea is to make booking a trip easier and help you be more prepared before you ever set foot on Disney World property. Disney executives spoke about these changes and how they’re coming after listening to guest feedback, especially the difficulties guests experience while navigating the My Disney Experience app. ©Shutterstock We’ll be sure to update you on more changes to the My Disney Experience app. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news!
