It’s no exaggeration to say there is a LOT going on in Disney at the moment. In Orlando alone, it feels like every month is bringing some major change. Magic Kingdom The company is working on developing new lands like Piston Peak, Villians Land, the Walt Disney Studios, Pueblo Espranza, and more! That’s why each week, our team likes to do a complete breakdown of every piece of major news you might have missed. This week Disney made sure we have PLENTY to tell you about, so let’s dive right in! This week left our team with a bit of whiplash and a ton of excitement because Disney wasn’t holding back! From Orlando to California, both U.S. Disney theme parks have some fun in store for us. Let’s start with the news that has this writer personally thrilled. Things Are About To Get Muppety After months of waiting, we finally know that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets is opening on May 26th, 2026! Not only did Disney give us an opening date, but they also dropped the full set list for the attraction AND gave us a first look at that famous band. ©Disney If you want to rock out, you’ll be able to hear: “Song 2” by The Electric Mayhem (made famous by Blur) “Born To Be Wild” by The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken (made famous by Steppenwolf) “Love Rollercoaster” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard “Walking on Sunshine” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson While some were holding out hope for classics like “Rainbow Connection,” we think this is a fun and energetic set of songs that will make each ride feel different! The band is also looking ready for their big performance. ©Disney Disney also shared that there would be celebrity cameos, including people like Travis Barker, Awkwafina, Yvette Nicole Brown, John Stamos, and more! Disney also confirmed that previews will take place ahead of the opening. This has us insanely excited for the ride, which will open in just over a month. Everything we know about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets Get Ready for 2027 in Disney World This week, Disney also said, “Get ready for next year!” because they dropped tons of new information about 2027 Disney World Vacation Packages. Yes, you can already start booking your 2027 hotel and tickets now! They shared ticket and hotel prices through October 2027. 1-day tickets start at $119 for one park, which is no change from the current pricing. Disney World Theme Park Tickets They also confirmed a NEW version of the Disney Dining Plan is going to be around in 2027. In 2027, you can choose from 3 Disney Dining Plans: the Quick-Service Dining Plan, the Table-Service (or Standard) Dining Plan, or the new Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan. The Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan differs from the Standard Table-Service Dining Plan in that it includes TWO (2) table-service meals per night of stay, instead of just one. The Hollywood Brown Derby That’s not all! They even confirmed the return of hotel perks like early entry, free water park entry, extended evening hours, and more. So yeah, get to planning! CONFIRMED: 6 Disney World Hotel Perks Are Coming BACK in 2027 We’re Off To Save The Galaxy Heading over to Disneyland, we finally got our first look at some VERY famous characters! Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo are all coming to Galaxy’s Edge, and we finally got a chance to see what they’ll look like. ©Disney This is all part of Disneyland’s major change to Galaxy’s Edge. They’re changing the timeline for Batuu to include ALL timelines in the Star Wars universe, which means our favourite galaxy heroes will now be around! It’s not just the heroes, though; even Darth Vader will be on Batuu now! ©Disney We are pretty pumped about these changes, especially because we have wanted to meet these characters, not just at Star Wars Nite! The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” is about to return! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom After a closure that began in January of 2025, the Magic Kingdom’s legendary E-Ticket coaster Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is scheduled to reopen on May 3rd with replaced tracks, new ride vehicles, and some “new magic,” including a new sequence that pays tribute to Disney history. In fact, these changes — and a “comprehensive review from their safety teams” — have even allowed Disney to lower the ride’s height requirement from 40 inches to 38 inches, giving younger riders the opportunity to experience the attraction even earlier! ©Disney However, beyond these infrastructure changes, Big Thunder is also receiving a new show scene featuring phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites and stalactites in a spectacularly colorful recreation of natural caverns. ©Disney This new “rainbow caverns” sequence is actually a full-circle moment for the attraction, as they’re similar to the rainbow caverns that once found a home in both the Rainbow Caverns Mine Train and its successor, the Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland, a pair of early Disneyland attractions that closed to make way for — drumroll please — the original Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! Furthermore, said Disneyland version is also home to its own (smaller scale) rainbow caverns tribute, so the new addition also makes the bo-coastal coaster siblings even more similar. ©D23 The new and should-be-improved Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is scheduled to reopen on May 3rd, and will be added to the Magic Kingdom’s Tier 1 Lightning Land options on the same day. So it’s been a WEEK when it comes to Disney World news. In fact, we think it’s been mostly just a week of The Muppets, since we got a lot of NEW updates about Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Bluey fans are going to be FLOODING Disney World on May 26th, because Bluey and Bingo are coming for the first time! Bluey and Bingo The beloved show, Bluey, is finally coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom next month! The new experience, called Bluey’s Wild World, will feature Bluey and Bingo as they take over the Conservation Station at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. With Bluey coming soon, there is one thing we NEED to see…well, six things. Yes, it has to do with food! On May 26th, families will be able to head over to Bluey’s Wild World on the Wildlife Express Train and play special games directly from Bluey episodes. On top of that, you can meet and take pictures with Bluey and Bingo and discover animals native to Bluey’s home country, Australia, at Jumping Junction! Wildlife Express We’re excited about everything that’s coming, but we noticed there hasn’t been an announcement on food, snacks, drinks, or any of that! We’re the Disney Food Blog, of course, we want exclusive Bluey snacks. A special event called Bluey’s Best Day Ever came to Disneyland on March 22nd, and they had tons of special snacks! Bluey’s Best Day Ever We got to go to Bluey’s Best Day Ever at Disneyland Park, and after trying some of the limited-time snacks, we’re begging Disney World to bring them to Bluey’s Wild World. There are six specifically that we seriously NEED to come next month. So, Disney, hear our wishlist! Bluey’s Best Day Ever was packed! Pizza Girls Baked Potato The Pizza Girls Baked Potato is a MUST for Disney World. This snack is topped with pepperoni, sausage, bacon bits, marinara, mozzarella, alfredo sauce, and a parmesan herb topper. We could argue that this was our favorite thing we had at the Disneyland event. The sauce was zesty, and the pepperoni and sausage were so flavorful. The cheese was everything a cheese lover could ask for — perfectly ooey and made for a fantastic cheese pull. PLEASE DISNEY! Pizza Girls Baked Potato Poffertjes! Poffertjes! If you don’t know what they are, poffertjes are mini Dutch pancakes topped with buttered condensed milk and powdered sugar. Sounds tasty, right?! The ones we had at Disneyland were doughy in the best way and were a great little sweet treat. They were perfectly cooked, yet not crispy. We’d totally get them again…if Disney World would bring them! Poffertjes! Poffertjes! Magic “Asparagus” Pretzel Don’t judge it before you try it! Why do we say that? Because it’s not actually asparagus! The Magic “Asparagus” Pretzel is a pretzel rod coated in white chocolate. This thing was huge when we had it, but it was the perfect balance between white chocolate and pretzel. What we love about this is its unique look. Doesn’t it look like it was pulled from a cartoon? Beware, though — since that green food coloring is all over, it’ll turn ANYTHING it touches green, especially in the heat. Magic “Asparagus” Pretzel Pavlova Parfait The sweet treat Disney World needs is the Pavlova Parfait. It includes meringue bites, vanilla yogurt mousse, berry compote, vanilla cake, fresh berries, and candied kiwi! The berry compote was very tart when we had it, but the fresh fruit and vanilla cake helped balance it out with sweetness. The kiwi candies offered an extra crunch, and while this one isn’t exactly “healthy,” it does feel a little fresher and “healthier” than the others. Ah, gotta love how fruit can make you feel that way. Pavlova Parfait Lime Ice Block Drink We talked a lot about the snacks, so let’s talk about a drink that Disney World needs. The Lime Ice Block Drink would definitely catch your eyes the way it did ours. This is pineapple limeade with coconut milk, but the best part is that it comes with a watermelon ice block inside. You can probably expect that this was a super sweet drink, and the popsicle melts fast in the drink. Honestly, when the popsicle melted, it added to the flavor. In the Florida heat, this one would HIT! This drink is made of Joffrey’s Coffee French Roast Cold Brew with a malted milk topper, fudge brownie bits, and sprinkles. If this came to Disney World, it would instantly become one of the park’s sweetest drinks. It tasted like a melted chocolate coffee shake. We’ll be honest, it was a little TOO sweet, but it hooked us enough that we want it again! Disneyland is changing its Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land this month by turning back the clock and introducing characters from the original trilogy, notably Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo. ©Star Wars The Star Wars social media accounts have been slowly releasing their never-before-seen Disneyland looks, and when we reposted them, not all fans were satisfied with their new looks. One of the fans’ first criticisms of Han Solo was his hair. @barberfrankfroese commented on our Instagram, “Why they give him a Prince Charming wig?” @devusername posted “Awesome! But why did you post a video of Flynn Rider to announce it?” James commented, “Flynn Rider cosplaying as Han is a choice.” ©Star Wars Most people are unanimously agreeing that this wig is giving That 70’s Show, with one comment mentioning Michael Kelso, and another bringing up Fez. Franklin on Facebook commented, “His hair screams fifth member of the Beatles.” While we love Han’s Farrah Fawcett volume, this wig is… something… compared to the original films. ©Disney Disneyland’s Han Solo is wearing his Empire Strikes Back look, but his vest looks much bluer than in the film. Sometimes a product strolls onto Amazon looking like it has its whole life together. It’s blush pink. It’s coordinated. It has pockets for your pockets. It whispers sweet little lies like, “This will make your Disney World day so much easier,” and before you know it, you’re emotionally invested in a backpack. Stanley Vitalize Backpack That was us with the STANLEY Vitalize Backpack and its matching shaker bottle sidekick. On paper, this duo looked like it was built for chaotic park people who want to feel organized, hydrated, and maybe just a little smug. A premium bag! A matching bottle! Compartments! Clips! That gorgeous Rose Quartz color that says, “I pack electrolytes and make good choices.” Reader, it did not quite work out that way. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. This isn’t one of those reviews where we pretend something is life-changing because it has a trendy logo and a cute colorway. The truth is a little messier, which is to say much more useful. There are things this backpack does well. In fact, there are a couple of things it does really well. But when you stack the good against the price, and then throw in the matching shaker bottle that made park hydration more annoying instead of less, this set starts to feel less like a Disney World essential and more like a very pretty budgeting mistake. Pretty, But Pricey Let’s start with the obvious. This set looks good. The Rose Quartz color is very cute. Very polished. Very “I definitely alphabetized my packing cubes and brought emergency Liquid I.V. in a labeled pouch.” Stanley also knows how to make a product feel premium at first glance. The materials look nice, the design feels thoughtful, and the overall vibe is less “random park backpack” and more “aspirational lifestyle accessory that accidentally wandered into Tomorrowland.” It comes with both! The problem is that once you get past the first impression, the price starts doing that thing where it quietly sits in the corner and judges you. At this price point, you don’t just want cute. You want useful, sturdy, breathable, practical, easy to clean, and versatile enough that it doesn’t require you to build an entire Stanley Cinematic Universe around it just to feel worth it. That’s where this set starts wobbling. Because no, this isn’t total junk. That would almost be easier. This is more annoying than that. This is a bag with some genuinely solid features that still somehow lands on “would not recommend” for most Disney World travelers. view ON AMAZON The Backpack’s Best Trick Let’s give the backpack its flowers first, because it does have a best trick, and that trick is storage. If you are the kind of Disney person who packs like you are preparing for a natural disaster, this bag may briefly make you feel seen. There is room for everything. Sunscreen, chargers, snacks, ponchos, medicine, cooling towels, an umbrella, hand sanitizer, backup hand sanitizer, emotional support lip balm, and the random receipts you’ll forget to throw away until July. This bag can handle it. A look inside Better yet, it doesn’t carry like a hulking nightmare. One of the biggest positives in the testing notes was how lightweight and comfortable it felt, even when it was loaded up. That matters in Disney World, where a bad backpack can turn you into a hunched-over goblin by lunchtime. This one distributes weight well, and that makes a real difference on a full park day. Another look The cupholder situation is also more functional than expected. The side holders felt secure, and those little clips actually came in handy for tucking in a water bottle or clipping an umbrella strap before rides. That is the kind of oddly specific park usefulness we appreciate. There’s also a top storage area with a key clip, which gave off a reassuring little anti-theft energy without turning the bag into a full tactical mission. Water bottle storage So yes, there is a version of this review where we say, “Surprise! It’s actually great.” But then the other stuff showed up. view ON AMAZON Where It Starts to Fall Apart The first issue is that this bag feels designed for a very specific customer: someone who is already fully committed to Stanley as a lifestyle. That sounds snarky, but it’s also the central problem. Shaker Bottle So many of the backpack’s premium features are built around Stanley products specifically. The cupholder clips, the interior setup, the dedicated spaces, the whole ecosystem of it all, it starts to feel less like a universally great theme park backpack and more like an accessory for your accessories. If you already own the Stanley drinkware lineup and want a matching bag to cradle it like royalty, maybe that sounds delightful. For everyone else, it’s limiting. Then there’s the breathability issue. The back padding was comfortable, yes, but not very airy, which meant the bag got warm fast. In the Florida heat, that matters. A sweaty back might not be the end of the world, but when a product is positioning itself as a premium all-day bag, “this made me hot and damp” is not exactly the testimonial of dreams. Back of the backpack And then came the stain drama. After just a little over three days of full use, the Rose Quartz version had already started staining toward the bottom. Three days. Not three years. Not “after repeated abuse.” Three days of regular use. That is where this review really takes a hard turn from “overpriced but maybe worth it for the right person” into “absolutely not at this price.” Because if you’re spending this much on a backpack for Disney World, it cannot be delicate. This is not a museum bag. This is a theme park bag. It needs to survive sunscreen hands, damp pavement, ride vehicle floors, snack spills, stroller brushes, and whatever weird sticky mystery lives on a quick-service table at 2PM. If it’s already picking up stains after one trip, that’s a real issue. view ON AMAZON The Matching Bottle Mess Now let’s talk about the shaker bottle, which took this coordinated little Stanley fantasy and shoved it directly into the “not for the parks” bin. To be fair, this is technically a shaker bottle, not a traditional water bottle. And if you use shaker bottles all the time for powders or protein drinks, maybe you’ll have a more romantic experience with it. But for Disney World? No. Absolutely not. Stanley Vitalize Shaker Bottle The removable strainer makes it less convenient to refill on the go. The twist-open sections are clunkier than they need to be. The rounded interior and bottom storage compartment eat into the actual liquid capacity, which is deeply unhelpful when your main need in the parks is not “Where shall I place my pre-workout powder?” but “Please give me enough cold water to survive walking from Norway to France.” Inside the shaker And then there’s the cold retention, which was just not impressive. The bottle kept water cold for about two to three hours, was only slightly cold after that, and drifted to room temperature around the five-hour mark. In Disney World, that is a problem. Park days are long. Florida is humid. Lukewarm water by mid-afternoon is the kind of betrayal that changes a person. So yes, it matches the backpack. Beautifully, even. But matching is not a personality, and it definitely isn’t a hydration strategy. view ON AMAZON Who This Might Work For To be crystal clear, we’re not saying nobody on earth should buy this backpack. If you are an overpacker, a park parent, or someone who truly needs a bag that can haul half your household across property without wrecking your shoulders, you may actually like parts of this. The organization is strong. The storage is generous. It carries lighter than it looks. For the right person, that’s meaningful. It’s stunning But even then, we’d still stop short of recommending it broadly. Why? Because for most Disney World visitors, this is just too much bag for too much money. If you typically do the parks with a smaller backpack, belt bag, or purse, this thing is probably overkill. And if you’re shopping for overall value, durability, and versatility, the Stanley-specific design makes it feel more niche than necessary. In other words, this isn’t a terrible product. It’s a too-expensive, too-specialized product that doesn’t quite justify its own existence unless you fall into a pretty narrow lane. view ON AMAZON The Real Verdict This set feels like it was designed in a boardroom where someone said, “What if hydration had a matching luggage collection?” and nobody brave enough said, “Sure, but does it actually make a Disney day better?” The backpack is the stronger half of the duo, no question. It’s comfortable, roomy, and surprisingly easy to carry for something this big. But it’s also warm, stain-prone, and expensive for a bag whose best features mostly shine if you’re already committed to Stanley’s product family. When in the Disney parks, you need the essentials to keep you going! The shaker bottle is where the whole thing really loses us. It’s awkward for park use, not ideal for refilling, and just doesn’t keep water cold long enough to earn a permanent spot in a Disney World lineup. Stanley Vitalize Shaker Bottle So no, we wouldn’t recommend spending $150 on this matching setup for your Disney trip. If you’re a die-hard Stanley fan who loves matching gear and wants a roomy bag for hauling all the things, you might still be tempted. But if you’re just looking for smart, reliable Disney World essentials, this duo is giving more “cute concept” than “worth your money.” And in this economy? We need a little less cute concept and a little more “didn’t stain before the fireworks.” view ON AMAZON Conclusion The STANLEY Vitalize Backpack set isn’t a total disaster, which somehow makes it even more frustrating. There’s a decent bag hiding in here, buried under the price tag, the brand-specific design, and the reality that Disney World is just too hot, too messy, and too chaotic for gear that only works at full power inside a matching Stanley ecosystem. It comes with both! We loved the storage. We appreciated the comfort. We respected the ambition. But if you’re asking whether this is the park bag and bottle combo we’d tell our friends to buy before a Disney trip, the answer is no. It’s official! You can now book a vacation to Disney World for 2027. With that information, though, also comes the cost of tickets, which will go up again in 2027. However, not EVERY day is more expensive than in 2026. So, which days are the days that ticket prices have increased? Disney World Theme Park Tickets Disney reveals its updated prices for theme park tickets every year. We’ve been keeping a track of these ticket prices EVERY year to tell you which days are cheapest, as well as to track how ticket prices have changed since the previous year. Let’s take a look at those ticket price increases for 2027, as compared to 2026. First, we want to start with a quick note: the prices we’re looking at are the starting ticket prices, which means they’re the lowest possible rate. As ticket prices not just vary by date, but also by park, these prices are generally for visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can expect other parks to be a bit higher. But these numbers can still help you decide the best days for you to visit Disney World. Disney’s Animal Kingdom In 2026, the starting prices for tickets were between $119 and $169. In 2027, the lowest end of the range will remain the same, at $119 per ticket. However, the highest end of the range has increased from $169 to $219. Here’s a look at all the price changes, month by month. January Ticket Price Changes In January, almost every day of the month will see a price increase from the year before. However, three dates have the same price as they did in 2026: January 11th, January 19th, and January 20th. The price for these days remains the same as they were in 2026 at $164 per ticket. January Ticket Price Changes It looks like the best dates for a trip to Disney World in January 2027 will be January 11th through January 13th and January 19th through January 21st. Ticket prices range from $164 to $184 in January. Disney CONFIRMS This Hotel Perk Will Return in 2027 February Ticket Price Changes In February, we’re seeing quite a few days change in price, while five dates will stay the same from 2026: February 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 21st, and 22nd. Three dates are at the highest price of $189 per ticket, with no dates at the lowest price. February Ticket Price Changes The cheapest date for a trip to Disney World in February 2027 will be on February 9th, with the ticket price at $169 per ticket. Ticket prices for February range from $169 to $189 per ticket. August has eight days at the lowest price of $119 per ticket, with no dates at the highest price. There are 25 closures across Disney World right now! Whether you’re headed to the theme parks or a resort, there’s likely a closure right now that could impact your trip. Pluto riding Dumbo Sounds like a lot? Don’t worry, we’ll keep it simple — here are all the closures you need to know about this upcoming week, along with all the most recent updates we have for each one! Magic Kingdom Storybook Circus Pete’s Silly Sideshow is temporarily unavailable as of January 4th, 2026. This is the Storybook Circus meet and greet area, where you can meet Donald Duck, Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Minnie Mouse as they join the circus. Good news, though! While Pete’s Silly Sideshow will be closed, you can still meet all of the characters! You will find Goofy and Minnie at the entrance to Storybook Circus, and you can find Donald and Daisy in the back of Storybook Circus by the restrooms. Pete’s Silly Sideshow However, now there’s ANOTHER closure in the land as well. Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the entire top of the store is GONE right now! Talk about a jumpscare! The tent disappeared! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. We’ve been waiting for the “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” to reopen for quite some time, but now we know it’ll be back open starting May 3rd! The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We spotted some ride testing, which was very exciting. Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some updates to the concrete on the land, as well as leveling taking place for the new attractions — how exciting! ©Bioreconstruct on Instagram Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area will open on May 26th, 2026, and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat is back! However, most recently, we’ve seen a lot of progress on this upcoming land — new pavement is almost all set, and it’s really starting to come together. This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, we got a good look at the former Muppet*Vision 3D building, which is very gray! ©Bioreconstruct Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster this summer! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open on May 26th, 2026! This new ride will feature iconic Muppets like Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo, plus a brand-new soundtrack featuring Def Leppard, Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Hudson! The Muppets are moving in! Disney has already made tons of progress on the new version of this iconic attraction! The previous name of the ride has already been removed from multiple locations, including on the guitar, which is now behind the scrim and scaffolding. Disney is also already putting new paint on the car at the entrance to this area to transform it into the Electric Mayhem’s iconic van! EPCOT Refreshment Port Refreshment Port located near the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase closed for refurbishment on January 12th. We’ve heard nothing on it for months, but now, we know that when it reopens, it’ll become La Poutinerie! La Poutinerie Concept Art ©Disney The spot will be sponsored by Air Canada, and promises to deliver “a Canadian classic with a twist.” Disney hasn’t announced an opening date or a menu, but we’re hoping our favorite poutine will come back any day now! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Rafiki’s Planet Watch On February 23rd, Disney temporarily closed Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Wildlife Express, which takes guests over to this part of the park, to make way for the new Bluey attraction coming to the park for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER on May 26th. For the time being, you can still visit the Wilderness Explorer badge offerings, as well as a few character meet and greets, at the train station. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is officially closed Bluey’s Wild World will become a permanent addition to the park, where you can meet Bluey and Bingo, play games with them, and even pet animals from Australia in the petting zoo, Jumping Junction! DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, a new permit was filed for the new Encanto ride to install set elements, and nine new permits were filed today for electrical work. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigal’s home! Typhoon Lagoon On February 15th, 2026, Blizzard Beach reopened in Disney World, and Typhoon Lagoon closed for refurbishment. Typhoon Lagoon will reopen again on May 12th, 2026! Typhoon Lagoon For the majority of the summer, we’ll have both water parks open again. Typhoon Lagoon is Disney’s oldest water park with fun for both kids and kids-at-heart, plus one of the largest wave pools in the world. It’s themed to be a tropical paradise that just survived a typhoon. Disney World Hotels Kiddie Pool Deck — Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney recently announced that the Kiddie Pool Deck at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will close for refurbishment beginning April 13th. Kiddie Pool Deck There’s no reopening date for the pool right now, but the current timeline is through the end of April. During the closure, every pool at the resort, minus the Kiddie Pool Deck, will remain open. Boat Dock — Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Beginning on April 13th and lasting through May 1st, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will be closed for refurbishment. While maintenance to the dock will last until late July 2026, boats should begin running again by May 2nd. Construction at Wilderness Lodge During this closure, the only way to get to Magic Kingdom (as well as all other locations on property) from this hotel will be by bus, unless you have your own car, so you’ll want to allow a little more time due to the higher crowds! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Cove Pool Area — Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort The Bay Cove Pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort are temporarily closed for maintenance. Bay Cove Pool construction sign From January 26th through early May 2026, the pool area will be unavailable. During the closure, guests can still use the Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure be will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Crew’s Cup Lounge — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On February 23rd, Crew’s Cup Lounge closed for refurbishment until it reopens on June 1st, 2026. Yachtsman Steakhouse Additionally, Yachtsman Steakhouse will close for refurbishment on May 11th, meaning these closures will overlap for a few weeks. It’s expected to reopen sometime in early August. Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery hasn’t announced yet where that new location will be, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls Now, we know that Jellyrolls will be moving to a new location about 10 minutes away, and a grand opening is planned for late summer or fall 2026. We also know that the new location will have free parking, be closer to the space that the original Disney location was in, and allow people to be dropped off and picked up by rideshare services right at the front door. Disneyland has seen a lot of closures lately. There are three current closures at Disneyland right now – Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, and the Disneyland Monorail – and the Silly Symphony Swings are set to close on April 27th. Disney California Adventure But now, we have some good news: two closed Disneyland attractions are reopening this month! The Jungle Cruise closed on February 17th for routine maintenance and refurbishment with no set reopening date. Disney just quietly announced that the Disneyland ride will reopen on April 24th! This guided river tour through the African jungle is full of animals, adventure, and dad jokes. Jungle Cruise at Disneyland In addition, Disney California Adventure‘s shooting game Toy Story Midway Mania! closed on April 4th. This will also reopen on April 24th! Join Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and more toys in Pixar Pier to test your skills. Toy Story Midway Mania! While we’re so excited to ride our favorite attractions again, there are still multiple Disneyland closures you need to know about. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is closed. The Toontown spinning dark ride closed on March 30th for maintenance and refurbishment, with no confirmed opening date. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin The Disneyland Monorail also closed on March 30th with no set reopening date. The high-speed transportation system connects Disneyland park to the shopping center, Downtown Disney. Disneyland Monorail Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters closed on April 13th with no set reopening date. On the Disneyland ride, you’ll take aim and fire your laser to defeat Zurg during a thrilling space battle! Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters In addition, the Silly Symphony Swings will close on April 27th with no confirmed reopening date. The Paradise Gardens Park ride takes you into the air to see DCA from above! Silly Symphony Swings Pirates of the Caribbean will be closing for refurbishment on May 4th. Blue Bayou Restaurant will also close on May 4th for refurbishment with a projected reopening in late May. Blue Bayou will have a modified dining experience when it reopens due to noise and obstructed views of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It’s possible that the reopening of Pirates could also follow this late May timeline, but Disney has not confirmed. Disneyland Blue Bayou! When it comes to dining, it’s no secret that Walt Disney World has a lot of options. Chicken anyone? Spread across the property’s 4 theme parks, 20+ hotels, and the Disney Springs district, there are all kinds of eateries. All of those options can be a lot to sort through, and that’s where we come in. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing, and if you have a limited amount of time — like, say, enough to stop by only a few restaurants over the course of a short trip, we can help you! If you’re trying to narrow down where to grab a bite, we’ve broken it down into distinct categories: New: Garden View Tea Lounge If you’re a relatively regular Walt Disney World guest looking to experience the newest dining experiences Disney World has to offer, there are currently a few options, like The Beak and Barrel at the Magic Kingdom and GEO-82 at EPCOT. However, our focus right now is the Grand Floridian’s Garden View Tea Lounge. It’s SO pretty in here! This past March saw the long-awaited reopening of the afternoon tea experience at the Grand Floridian, which had been shuttered for over 6 years. According to Disney, the new tea room experience is “a proper British afternoon tea experience” featuring “premium Twinings tea selections paired with delightful scones, small bites and exquisite pastries” all themed to Alice in Wonderland. Twinings Loose Leaf Teas Overall, we found the experience to be lovely, if a bit lacking for the price. At $79 per adult, you likely won’t leave hungry, but none of the bites we had really “wowed” us. We were hoping for more elevated flavors, and most of the desserts tasted like something you’d find in any Disney World bakery case. Afternoon Tea Service Iconic: Cinderella’s Royal Table Moving on from new to classic, we have Cinderella’s Royal Table. There’s arguably no more iconic Disney World location based on location alone, as the Royal Table is situated inside the legendary Cinderella Castle. Thanks to this regal setting, the restaurant — which was originally dubbed King Stefan’s Banquet Hall — has been one of the Magic Kingdom’s most popular since it opened with the park in 1971. But does the experience live up to the hype? Cinderella’s Royal Table From our many experiences over the years — including the most recent — we’ve come away with the general feeling that the food itself is simply fine. It isn’t BAD, but versions of pretty much everything on the menu can be found better at other Walt Disney World locations. In turn, the meals feel like they’re really not worth the $76 per person price tag for breakfast, or the $89 per person price tag for lunch/dinner. Cinderella’s Royal Table Of course, that’s where the “iconic” nature of the experience comes in. The true draw of Cinderella’s Royal Table is the bucket list moment of eating INSIDE the castle, surrounded by Disney Princesses during character dining. Meet Cinderella while dining on fairytale-inspired fare. Best: Nomad Lounge If you’re looking to eschew the newest and most iconic and simply looking for the best, our answer is a bit off the beaten path: Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom! Nomad Lounge Attached to Animal Kingdom’s signature restaurant, Tiffins, Nomad Lounge offers the opportunity to try some small bites that come STRAIGHT from the Tiffins kitchen (like the naan and dip trio, the sticky pork ribs, and churros that actually taste GOOD)… Nomad Lounge lunch …while also sipping on some of the best handcrafted cocktails Disney resort-wide, as well as a specialty deep amber ale — called the Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion — that’s brewed EXCLUSIVELY for Disney World! Tropical Rainbow Cocktail Atmospherically, the lounge speaks to all the wanderers, travelers, and nomads-at-heart. The interior features soft curtains reminiscent of mosquito netting, warm hues, and banisters hanging from the ceiling that highlight the imagineers who traveled to other countries to help make Animal Kingdom into what it is today. A wraparound porch circles the building, with plush furniture and gorgeous waterfront views, all of which provide a welcome moment of peace in the midst of a hectic Disney World vacation. Well…that Disney World perk didn’t last long. Pirates of the Caribbean We literally JUST talked about a brand-new perk that came to Disney World three days ago that would allow you to get FREE Lightning Lane at Magic Kingdom. Maybe the pirates stole that treasure back, or Disney just didn’t like the perk anymore; we really don’t know. All we know is that the perk has been DITCHED! Only three days ago, Disney introduced a new perk at Magic Kingdom that would give guests a free Lightning Lane. It was a fascinating perk that we had to check out for ourselves, because Disney doesn’t just give away free Lightning Lane access. When we went to check out, we confirmed that it existed — this was NOT a fever dream! Unfortunately, after a few days, they decided to remove the perk. You can still play the game, but you won’t win anything for finishing. Pirate Adventure The way the perk worked was that you had to complete the Pirate Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas. Once you complete three of the five maps, you can bring them back to the desk at the beginning and redeem them for a free Lightning Lane for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Way back in the day, you used to get a FastPass, but when they went away, you won bragging rights, so you can imagine we were thrilled when Lightning Lanes were added. Well, now we’re back to bragging rights! Line for Pirates of the Caribbean We’re not sure why Disney chose to get rid of this perk, and your guess would be as good as ours. So, next trip you take to Magic Kingdom, don’t do the Pirate Adventure in hopes to get the free perk out of it…because you won’t. You should still do the activity for fun, though, we always enjoy it! Three of the maps It’s a little disappointing that they got rid of the perk so quickly, but since it was only here for three days, we never really got attached to it. Plus, it might be tough to find time in the day to do the activity once Big Thunder Mountain Railroad opens on May 3rd! We’ll be too busy trying to get in all the E-Ticket attractions at the park since everything will be open for the first time in a while. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad construction Big Thunder Mountain closed on January 6th, 2025, as Disney Imagineers began the refurbishment to bring the attraction a whole new look in 2026. Once the ride opens, we’ll get to experience new elements, theming, track, and feel to one of the park’s most beloved attractions. There are a lot of things Disney World does extremely well. Fireworks. Snacks. Turning “I’ll just browse the gift shop” into a minor financial event. What Disney World is not naturally built for is quiet. This is, after all, a vacation kingdom fueled by stroller traffic, mobile order panic, and one family of six somehow stopping in the exact center of every walkway like they’re filming a documentary about poor spatial awareness. Magic Kingdom So yes, if you’re an introvert, Disney World can be a lot. Not bad a lot, necessarily. Just… a lot. A parade of sounds, crowds, questions, decisions, heat, logistics, and strangers breathing with a level of confidence that feels, frankly, aggressive. Which is exactly why your hotel matters. A good Disney hotel for an introvert is not just a place to sleep. It is a decompression chamber. A reset button. A lovely little cocoon where you can peel off your park clothes, stare into the middle distance for twenty minutes, and remember who you are before rope drop turned you into a survivalist with a Lightning Lane strategy and a caffeine dependency. Grand Flo Lobby And as a loud and proud introvert, or at least the introvert version of loud and proud, I take this very seriously. My personal favorite is Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, because nothing says peace like being tucked away in the woods in a glamorous seven-story rustic-chic log cabin with a couple thousand of your closest strangers. That resort understands me on a spiritual level. What Introverts Actually Need Let’s clear something up right now: being an introvert does not automatically mean you want to sit in a dark room and hiss at sunlight like a Victorian attic cat. Some introverts love Disney. Some of us love the parks, love the food, love the atmosphere, and still need a hotel that doesn’t feel like Round 2 of public interaction. Main Street, U.S.A. The best Disney World hotels for introverts usually have a few things in common. They have space. They have pockets of calm. They do not feel like the entire resort is perpetually gathered in one giant central hallway waiting to discuss their dinner reservations. They give you somewhere to walk, somewhere to sit, somewhere to quietly exist without being drafted into the emotional orbit of 700 other vacationers. Belle Vue Lounge That’s really the key. Introverts do not always need silence. We need choice. We need the option to participate and the option to vanish. The resorts below are the ones that do the best job of offering both. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Forest Fortress Let’s start with the queen. The icon. The reigning monarch of “leave me alone, but make it expensive-looking.” Wilderness Lodge in Disney World Wilderness Lodge is inspired by turn-of-the-century National Park lodges, and that is exactly why it works so well for introverts. The whole place feels tucked away from the rest of Disney World in the best possible way. It has that rare talent of making you feel removed from the chaos without making you feel inconveniently stranded in the wilderness with only a granola bar and your battery pack for comfort. The famous fireplace This resort gets the balance right. The lobby is dramatic, yes, but it is dramatic in a low-lit, cathedral-of-pine kind of way. It is not screaming for your attention with giant cartoon icons or a food court that sounds like a middle school cafeteria at peak tater tot hour. You can sit by the fireplace. You can walk the grounds. You can step outside and get that quiet, piney, Pacific-Northwest-meets-Florida energy that somehow tricks your nervous system into unclenching. Wilderness Lodge This is also one of the few Disney resorts that feels deeply cozy rather than merely convenient. Cozy matters. Cozy is medicinal. Cozy is what keeps an introvert from having to fake enthusiasm when their social battery is blinking red and making that weird little emergency chirp. More fire Now, is Wilderness Lodge empty? Absolutely not. It is a Disney Deluxe resort, not a secret monastery. But it absorbs people well. That’s the trick. Crowds don’t hit you in the face here the same way they do at resorts where every guest seems to be funneled into one busy corridor under blinding lights and the scent of spilled soda. Territory Lounge If you’re an introvert who still wants Magic Kingdom area convenience without staying somewhere that feels like a transportation hub cosplaying as a hotel lobby, this is the move. What I Wish I’d Bought Before Staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Windows, Wildlife, Peace Animal Kingdom Lodge is what happens when Disney takes the concept of “staring out the window to avoid conversation” and turns it into a luxury experience. The hotel’s signature strength: exotic animals, immersive theming, and big-view spaces that let the savanna do most of the talking. That is catnip for introverts. Or maybe antelope-nip. Either way, you get the idea. Animal Kingdom Lodge There are few better low-effort, high-reward introvert activities at Disney World than finding a quiet spot at Animal Kingdom Lodge and watching giraffes wander around while you sip coffee and remember that peace is possible. You are technically on vacation. You are also technically hiding from everyone. That’s called range. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge This resort is especially good for introverts who like atmosphere but do not want overstimulation. The design is rich and gorgeous, but it’s grounded. Warm woods, deep colors, soft lighting, and sweeping windows do a lot of heavy lifting here. It feels layered and alive without feeling chaotic. You can be surrounded by detail without being screamed at by it. The Savanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge The tradeoff, of course, is that Animal Kingdom Lodge is a bus-only resort, which means transportation is not exactly a silent meditation retreat. But once you are back on property, the vibe changes fast. The hotel has a built-in hush to it, and because so many guests are out in the parks during the day, those common areas can feel especially serene in the afternoon. Disney is also still posting a refurbishment notice for Kidani Village guest rooms through May 2026, so that is one more reason to double-check the current status before you book. AKL Lobby If your ideal reset button involves soft seating, interesting architecture, and an animal doing something pleasantly unbothered in the distance, this is your place. Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside River Calm Port Orleans remains one of Disney World’s best arguments for the healing power of just going outside for a minute. Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside are sister resorts, not one giant merged mega-resort with a complicated custody arrangement. Both are good. For introverts specifically, though, I’m giving the edge to Riverside. Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Riverside works because it sprawls in a way that actually helps. The pathways, the trees, the river, the mansions and backwoods bayou sections, the little pockets where nobody seems in a hurry to bother you, it all creates breathing room. This is not the resort for people who want to be thirty feet from the lobby at all times. This is the resort for people who enjoy a scenic walk and occasionally need to disappear behind landscaping like a Southern gothic cryptid. Port Orleans Riverside Resort It also has a gentler energy than some of Disney’s more in-your-face resorts. There’s charm here, but it’s not loud charm. It’s not trying to hit you over the head with “LOOK HOW FUN WE ARE.” It’s more of a slow exhale. A riverboat kind of mood. A “yes, I would like to sit on this bench and not speak to anyone for twelve glorious minutes” kind of mood. Port Orleans — Riverside That makes it a strong pick for introverts who still want a moderate resort budget and decent transportation options, but who would prefer to come back to something leafy and low-key rather than a resort where every path leads directly into another loud decision. So serene The only asterisk is the refurbishment. If construction noise is your personal villain origin story, keep an eye on the latest room-location notes before you book. But conceptually? Spiritually? Riverside still gets introverts. Caribbean Beach vs. Port Orleans Riverside Disney World Resort Guide Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Room to Breathe Saratoga Springs is the resort equivalent of someone giving you space and then, miracle of miracles, actually continuing to give you space. The Treehouse Villas are here, and that alone keeps Saratoga Springs firmly in the introvert conversation. This resort is sprawling. It has walking paths, villas, quiet corners, and enough physical separation that you don’t constantly feel like you’re living inside somebody else’s vacation montage. Treehouse Villas What makes Saratoga so introvert-friendly is not that it’s the flashiest resort. It’s almost the opposite. It’s calm. It’s spread out. It has a sort of country-club-meets-vacation-condo energy that can feel delightfully unbothered compared with some of Disney’s louder, more aggressively whimsical options. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort And yes, some people complain that it is too spread out. To which I say: exactly. That’s the point. For introverts, “spread out” can be a feature, not a bug. Sometimes I do not want the pool, the lobby, the quick-service location, and seventeen other families orbiting within one hundred feet of my front door. Sometimes I would like some nice landscaping, a quiet walkway, and the illusion that I have escaped society while technically still being on Disney property. Let’s decompress Saratoga is especially good for repeat visitors, DVC fans, or anyone whose dream Disney trip includes a little less frantic magic and a little more “I am going to drink coffee on this balcony and let nobody perceive me until noon.” It is not the most thrilling resort on this list. That’s one of its best qualities. There’s a NEW Addition at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort Fort Wilderness Cabin Mode If your ideal Disney vacation includes hearing birds instead of hallway doors, Fort Wilderness needs to be on your radar immediately. Fort Wilderness Resort Fort Wilderness has both the campsites and cabin offerings, with the cabins now tied into Disney Vacation Club branding, while the broader Fort Wilderness experience still revolves around that secluded, outdoorsy, pine-scented bubble so many people love. OLD Fort Wilderness Cabin But here’s the real story: Fort Wilderness is one of the only places at Disney World where introvert logic becomes hilariously easy. Do you want privacy-enhancing landscaping? Disney literally says the campsites have that. Do you want room to spread out? It has that too. Do you want to feel like you’ve left mainstream Disney energy behind and wandered into some parallel universe where golf carts rule the roads and trees mind their business? Congratulations, you have arrived. Time to fish There’s something deeply satisfying about how self-contained Fort Wilderness feels. It is not polished in the same way that Wilderness Lodge is polished. It’s more casual, more woodsy, more “I could vanish here for a weekend and come back emotionally renewed and slightly obsessed with outdoor lantern light.” Tri Circle Ranch This is also a great choice for introverts traveling with family, because it gives you a little bit of separation even when you are technically not alone. That matters. Sometimes the dream is not solitude, exactly. Sometimes the dream is a door. Sometimes it is a porch. Sometimes it is being able to step outside and take one dramatically private breath before returning to your loved ones and pretending you are still fun. Bus stop Fort Wilderness is for people who want Disney, but diluted with trees. NEWS: Disney Confirms NEW Rule at Fort Wilderness Resort One More Thing Before You Book Quiet Has Layers A hotel being good for introverts does not always mean it is the quietest hotel on paper. It means it gives you places to recover. A place to relax That’s why some very popular resorts still work, and some less popular ones still don’t. A compact resort can be charming, but if every single guest shares the same tiny circulation path, your brain may still feel like it’s getting bumped with a shopping cart. A big resort can be inconvenient, but if that size creates breathing room, scenic walks, and fewer people directly in your face, suddenly it starts looking like a wellness plan. Beach Club Lobby That is also why Wilderness Lodge keeps winning for me. It’s beautiful, yes. Convenient, yes. But mostly it feels like a resort built by someone who understood that there is real emotional value in dim lighting, good theming, and not being assaulted by a food court every time you leave your room. Protect Your Peace Disney World is not exactly an introvert’s natural habitat. It is a place where you can buy a churro at 9:14 in the morning while being passed by a scooter, a stroller, a bubble wand, and a child explaining at full volume why everyone in their family is already mad. That is simply the ecosystem. But the right hotel changes everything. Saratoga Springs Resort If you want my personal pick, it’s Wilderness Lodge all day. If you want animals and atmosphere, go Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you want river paths and room to decompress, go Port Orleans Riverside. If you want space to spread out, Saratoga Springs gets the job done. And if you want to flee civilization while still technically staying at Disney World, Fort Wilderness is sitting there in the trees waiting for you like a very specific kind of therapy. Carolwood Pacific Room In other words, introverts do not need to avoid Disney World. We just need better hideouts. Preferably with nice lobbies, decent snacks, and a scenic place to stare while nobody asks us one more question. Magic Kingdom, which is already under a lot of construction, is about to get ANOTHER big change. Dole Whip from Aloha Isle Right now, the park has just reopened an updated ride, is in the process of reopening ANOTHER big updated ride, is getting a brand NEW land, and an expansion in Frontierland. As if that wasn’t enough, though, some changes are coming soon to a popular dining spot in the park: Aloha Isle is getting an update! Yep, your favorite spot to grab a DOLE Whip treat in Disney World is getting an update soon. Disney filed a permit on April 15th to “install signage” at the location. We’re not entirely sure what kind of signage the permit refers to, but it does mean you might see some construction activity happening around the snack spot. Of course, this could just mean the location is getting a new version of its existing sign, so you might not notice anything at all! Aloha Isle The contractor for the project is listed as Kentavo, who has also installed signage for some of Disney World’s other locations. This could be a refresh of the current sign at Aloha Isle, or perhaps it’s additional signage for the quick service spot. Whatever the case, we’re curious as to what it means. Aloha Isle The good news is that this work doesn’t seem to warrant a closure, which is good news for folks still hoping to get their DOLE Whip fix the next time they visit Magic Kingdom. Pop Century Lobby While we spend every day at Disney World every day, we often stay overnight, as well! Over the decades, we’ve gotten pretty familiar with ALL of the Disney World hotels over the years — their pros and cons, who they’re right for, and how to save at one. Understandably, we’ve picked up some great tips during our stays, and we’re giving you ways to save money during your vacation! I’m not going to bury the lede. Staying at a Disney hotel is expensive — at least generally speaking. You should be ready to shell out a MINIMUM of a couple hundred dollars per night. Of course, what you pay will always depend on the length of your stay, but there are actually several ways you can save a few bucks and — sometimes — much, much more. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Stay at a Good Neighbor Hotel What’s the best way to avoid overspending at a Disney hotel? Not staying at a Disney hotel! While Disney owns MANY hotels on property, they also partner with local hotels in the area — also known as Good Neighbor Hotels. Holiday Inn Orlando I can pretty much guarantee you that you’ll get better rates at these hotels, and many of them still give you park perks like Early Entry and transportation. Best of all, these hotels are usually part of a chain and rewards program — and if you’re a member, you could theoretically stay near Disney World FOR FREE if you cash in points and rewards. Swan & Dolphin Hotels Another great option is staying on property but in a non-Disney owned hotel! Swan and Dolphin Hotels One of the best hacks is to stay at the Swan and Dolphin Resorts, which offers a prime location near the parks, some of the best dining options in all of Disney World, park perks, and a deluxe experience that a majority of the Disney-owned hotels either don’t have or charge way more for. Never Stop Looking For Deals Even after you’ve purchased a vacation package directly from Disney, your price doesn’t necessarily have to be locked in. Magic Kingdom If you have an existing Disney World reservation, you can still add on new Disney-offered deals! Keep up-to-date on what’s being offered (that’s where following DFB helps), and you might end up paying less than you originally expected. ©Disney Check the special offers on the Disney World website regularly, and then follow the prompts to apply the offer to your reservation. You will likely need to log in to your My Disney Experience account to modify the reservation. Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort We do have to warn you, however, that adding a deal could affect what you initially wanted to do with your reservation. Some deals apply to certain rooms or hotels, so if you have any questions or concerns, contact Disney World, and a Cast Member can assist you. Consider Location Before selecting a hotel, it’s important to do a little bit of homework and see which hotels are close to the theme parks you care about most. Disney World is the size of San Francisco, so location definitely matters. EPCOT You should also get familiar with the transportation offered at each resort. If you’re spending more time at the parks and less time getting there, you’re getting more bang for your buck. Monorail at the Contemporary Resort Time is money, and you will get the most out of your vacation if you — ya know — are actually getting what you paid for. Take Advantage of the Disney Visa If you’re a Disney Visa Cardmember, you can get hotel deals, among other types of savings on things like food and merch. Cardmembers can use the Disney Rewards Redemption Card at select restaurants, retail, and hotel locations at Disney Resorts all over the country — not just Disney World! ©Disney Disney Visa Cardmembers can also get discounts on room rates — so if you’ve been thinking about signing up and want to go to Disney a lot, it’s not the worst idea in the world. Disney Visa At Disney World, Cardmembers can save up to 30-35% on select rooms. At Disneyland, they can save 30% on select premium rooms at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa or the Disneyland Hotel during specific booking periods. Cardmembers can also save 35% off select rooms at the Aulani Resort & Spa. Time It Out While Disney World is almost always busy, there are times of the year when rates DO drop. Empty Hollywood Studios Typically, you may see lower prices in January, early February, and September. If school is in session or the weather is cold, you may get lucky. However, if you want to visit during the holidays or when families generally travel, get ready to shell out some cash. As always, keep up with travel trends months and years before you book for the best pulse on price fluctuations. Main Street, U.S.A.
