  3. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially OPEN in Magic Kingdom! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure This is super exciting, but it also means that now there are TWO attractions with Virtual Queues in Magic Kingdom — Tiana’s and TRON Lightcycle / Run. Wondering how in the world that works? Yeah, so are we, which is why we set out to figure out IF we could book BOTH! WAIT, hang on, before we start this post, we have to get you updated with the NEW Genie+ terminology that Disney just recently released. These changes won’t be starting until July 24th, but we want to get you familiar with the new terminology. Regular Genie+/Lightning Lanes is now called Lightning Lane Multi-Pass. Individual Lightning Lanes are now called Lighting Lane Single Pass. Okay, now we can continue! Both of these highly sought after attractions do not have regular standby queues at this time. TRON and Tiana’s both have a free Virtual Queue that opens at 7AM and 1PM each day, and the second option for TRON is an Individual Lighting Lane (Lightning Lane Single Pass) (separate from regular Genie+/Lightning Lane Multi-Pass). Tiana’s Bayou Adventure However, the second option for Tiana’s is included in regular Genie+ (Lighting Lane Multi-Pass), which is where things get a little tricky. You can buy Genie+ (Lightning Lane Multi-Pass) starting at midnight the day of your day in the park, but you won’t be able to make your first selection until 7AM, which is also when Virtual Queues open. TRON Lightcycle / Run So, on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’s opening day, we tried our best to get virtual queues for both the new attraction as well as TRON Lightcycle / Run, and the news we have to report isn’t great. After all our efforts today, we were unable to even try for a TRON virtual queue while holding a Tiana’s VQ spot, as the My Disney Experience App indicated we were ineligible. ©Disney We even spoke with several Cast Members who confirmed to us that — at this time — they did not think it was within the rules to hold two virtual queue spots for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Tron Lightcycle / Run at the same time. TRON Note that Disney previously shared that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will not use a virtual queue forever — we expect the ride to use a standby line in the future. But, for now, you may have to choose between joining the virtual queue for TRON or Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure That said, some people are theorizing that you may be able to get a virtual queue for one ride at 7AM, ride it, and then secure the OTHER virtual queue at the 1PM drop, though we still cannot confirm if this would work in practice. Plus, it would be challenging to time things correctly! For now, it seems like the best option is to try and get the free virtual queue for one ride and pay for a Lightning Lane reservation for the other. Note that, as we said, TRON uses that Individual Lightning Lane (Lightning Lane Single Pass), and Tiana’s is part of the Genie+ (Lightning Lane Multi-Pass) lineup. Are you ready to ride? We’ll be here to keep you updated on all the latest changes with Virtual Queues and Genie+ as it prepares to change on July 24th, so stay tuned to DFB! Read more about the Genie+ changes here! 4. We see a lot of people visit the Disney World parks. We see moms, dads, grandparents, and even old friends reunite in the parks and resorts. It’s pretty sweet! But the more people we see, the more patterns we start to notice. For instance, Disney moms often like to wear Disney-themed t-shirts and comfortable sneakers. Disney dads often wear
whatever their spouse tells them to wear. 2024 Merchandise If you know a Disney Dad or Disney Adult in need of some new outfits for the parks and resorts, you’ve come to the right place! 5. One of the best things about the Disneyland Resort (undoubtedly) is the FOOD and it’s even better when the price is super affordable! Frontierland It’s no secret that if you’re looking to save a buck or two at the Disney Parks, quick service is the way to go. These restaurants sacrifice comfort and luxury dining for quick and cheap meals that are perfect if you’re on the go. Fortunately, Disneyland has a ton of very good quick service options, including an incredibly underrated one over at Frontierland in Disneyland Park! We recently visited Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante in Disneyland to see if it still holds up as one of the best Disneyland restaurants and we have plenty of thoughts. Let’s dive in! Atmosphere Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante is found near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland and is open for daily lunch and dinner service. Rancho del Zocalo This Mexican restaurant features plenty of Spanish/Mexican influence with colorful painted tiles, fountains, adobe archways, and hanging plants. It also has an abundance of shade with both indoor and covered outdoor seating. It can get pretty busy but on most days you should be able to find seating. Rancho del Zocalo outdoor seating The interior features a couple of quick-service counters where you can order meals and desserts. Service area of Rancho del Zocalo Behind the ordering stations is a beverage station where you’ll find plenty of options. Self-Serve Beverage Area All in all, Rancho del Zocalo is a quaint oasis in Disneyland that offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of Disneyland. The literal English translation of Rancho del Zocalo is “Ranch of the Square” and this restaurant definitely gives off town square vibes.Be there or be square! But how is the food? Let’s take a look! Menu As you would expect, this Mexican Restaurant serves — you guessed it — Mexican cuisine! Disney bills the food at Rancho del Zocalo as “Authentic Mexican”, and while we slightly disagree, it still has a ton of classic Mexican fare you can find all over the United States in addition to seasonal agua frescas. This restaurant also serves bean and cheese burritos and chicken tacos for kids. ©Disney The big thing here is the price. If you’re on a budget, this quick-service restaurant should be one of your go-to spots. The pricing is very fair for all the food you get with each order. But how does the food taste? We have plenty of thoughts! Eats For our review, we tried the Cheese Enchiladas with Red Sauces, Trio of Street Tacos, Cucumber-mint Agua Fresca, and Cinnamon Crisps. Everything we tried at Rancho del Zocalo We started out with the Cheese Enchiladas with Red Sauce and were immediately blown away. This meal comes with three cheese enchiladas with red sauce and served with Mexican rice and refried beans for $12.99. Cheese Enchiladas with Red Sauce The enchiladas were nice and moist with a bit of a kick from the sauce. The cheese was packed with flavor and our tortillas were the perfect level of thickness to hold it all together. We also found the enchiladas to be well-seasoned and a great recommendation for vegetarians. The side of beans also had a surprising amount of seasoning, but the texture was thick and the aftertaste was kind of smoky. While we weren’t huge fans of the beans, the rice was more of a winner. It had some kick and was a nice complimentary piece to the enchiladas. Overall, the price is more than fair and if you don’t mind spicy food, give this a try! Cheesy goodness! Up next is the Trio of Street Tacos for $13.99. These are served with beef, chicken, and cauliflower alongside Mexican rice and refried beans. Trio of Street Tacos Al tacos were double-layered, which was greatly appreciated. The cauliflower taco had a nice earthy flavor with a spicy aftertaste and the cilantro and onions provided a crispy tanginess to create an earthy and sweet blend. Cauliflower Taco The beef taco had way more flavor than we were expecting. Moist with some sweetness, the beefy flavor cuts through the salsa unlike with the cauliflower taco (which was a little too spicy), making the protein the star of the show. This was our favorite taco of the three. Beef Taco Finally, the chicken taco was the simplest of the three. The cilantro mixed best with this taco and it wasn’t as spicy as the other two, but it still had a subtle kick. The chicken was also seasoned nicely and, while simple, got the job done. Chicken Taco A word of warning, generally the salsa on these tacos was pretty hot, even for us. So if you don’t like the heat, avoid this one in the Rancho del Zocalo kitchen. Otherwise, we thought the price was pretty fair and the food was solid. Not as good as local Southern California tacos or the enchiladas, but pretty good overall. But how was the dessert? We tried the Cinnamon Crisps for $4.49 and WOW, these were definitely a highlight! Cinnamon Crisps We aren’t joking when we say these had the perfect texture, fantastic crunch, a liberal amount of cinnamon, were sit-down restaurant quality, and were incredibly addicting. You get a ton of chips for the price and we would’ve easily gone back for more. We LOVED this and can’t recommend them enough! You get PLENTY of crisps! Finally, we have to talk about our drink — the seasonal Cucumber-mint Agua Fresca! This drink is made with cucumber agua with a hint of mint for $6.99. Cucumber-mint Agua Fresca The mint in this drink was super light and it tasted mostly of cucumber, especially with the small bits in it. Still, the mint came through enough and blended well with the cucumber to create a very refreshing, cucumber-mint julep-like beverage that hit the spot on a hot day. If you don’t like cucumber, you probably won’t like this, but overall we think it was a very pleasant and aromatic drink! Refreshing! So did Rancho del Zocalo meet our expectations in this most recent review? Overall Overall, the answer to that question is a resounding YES! Aside from the fact that the food is very tasty, the pricing of everything was beyond fair and those enchiladas were outstanding! Rancho del Zocalo painted mural While we think the meals can get a bit spicy, if that doesn’t put you off, there are a lot of great flavors to enjoy here as well as snacks and drinks that are great if you’re looking to bring something with you on your journey through the park! Nosh or Not? Ride on down to Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante if
You’re on a budget. Rancho del Zocalo’s prices are fair and the portions are filling. It’s tough to find better deals anywhere at the Disneyland Resort. If you have a Magic Key Pass, those prices get even lower. You want a good meal without making reservations. Ample seating and its tucked-away nature make Rancho del Zocalo a not-so-hidden gem of Disneyland. It’s usually easy to get a meal and dine here, but there is also some seating nearby if you experience a rare occasion where seating is hard to find. You’re craving Mexican cuisine. Rancho del Zocalo may not be the best restaurant in Disneyland, but it goes toe-to-toe with the best quick-service options the park has to offer. We found the food here to be very tasty and it fits in with the land theming and Southern California vibes quite well! Hitch your horse to another restaurant if
You can’t handle any spice. The menu’s offerings are pretty spicy by Disney standards and if you or anyone in your party can’t handle even the smallest amount of heat, you may want to pass on dining here. You can get the meals without sauce and salsa and you’ll find the Golden Horseshoe — which serves affordable standard American fare — just a few steps, but if you want to ere on the side of caution, it might be wise to give this place a pass. You want an unforgettable experience. Rancho del Zocalo is great, but it doesn’t hold up to the quality and theming of a place like the Blue Bayou in New Orleans Square. Also, while the theming is nice, seating is mostly outside and not specifically Disney-themed. If you want each Disneyland dining experience to be memorable and are willing to spend a bit more, Rancho del Zocalo probably shouldn’t be at the top of your list. You have no appetite. Despite being a quick-service restaurant, Rancho del Zocalo doesn’t skimp on portion size. While you probably won’t be served enough to share plates, you’ll probably still feel full and satisfied at the end of the meal. Food carts and other quick-service locations may give you the smaller amount of food you’re looking for, although the pricing might not be as nice, ironically. 6. Could Disneyland be seeing a massive entertainment shift soon? Disneyland When Walt Disney said that Disneyland would never be completed, he was probably alluding to upgrades and land expansions — an influx of creativity. However, it’s unlikely he anticipated tons of entertainment leaving Disneyland, with nothing anticipated to take its place. In fact, this exodus of entertainment could be getting worse VERY SOON. Over the last year, Disneyland has cut back on its live entertainment offerings. After checking out the Disneyland entertainment calendar, we have a suspicion that the dropoff could get worse. June 29th, 2024 ©Disney According to Disneyland’s entertainment calendar, guests visiting Disneyland should expect a massive entertainment disappearance between June 29th and June 30th. June 30, 2024 ©Disney We’ve already seen this trend at Disney California Adventure’s Hyperion Theater. “Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular,” “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion,” and the Captain America show “Rogers: The Musical” all had their runs ended and now the theater isn’t showing anything. Rogers The Musical at the Hyperion Theater Another red flag came in the form of the announcement that the live dancers and DJ were being removed from the Club Pixar area of California Adventure. Club Pixar is a limited-time offering for Pixar Fest, so the entertainment was always going to be removed eventually, but Disney attributed the change to “guest feedback and operational considerations.” Club Pixar Stage The entertainment issue got even worse at California Adventure recently with the surprising cancelation of “Dr. Strange: Mysteries of Mystic Arts” in Avengers Campus. That show is currently slated to end in just a couple of days on June 30th. While Dr. Strange is still set to make appearances at Avengers Campus, not much is known about what will replace the empty space of the Ancient Sanctum, which hosted the show multiple times a day. Ancient Sanctum The surprising entertainment removal of late has come on the heels of the approval of the unionization of Disneyland character performers on May 18th, 2024. Per Actors’ Equity Association President Kate Shindle, “The next step will be to collaborate with them about improving health & safety, wages, benefits, working conditions and job security.” Iron Man Speculation has arisen as to whether the unionization led to the cancellation of these shows, but, predictably, Disney has denied these claims. It’s also possible that shows like “Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” could potentially return after union negotiations are complete, but right now Disneyland representatives haven’t announced replacement plans. However, all is not gone. The Avengers Campus show “Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje” may be missing on June 30th, but it is scheduled to return shortly after. 7. We know — a lot is going on in Disney World right now, and with the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, you might’ve even forgotten that next week is a holiday! Hush Puppy Benedict at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ That’s right! The 4th of July is right around the corner, and we’re expecting things to be pretty busy in Disney World, especially with Orlando being the #2 travel destination for the busy holiday week. If you plan on visiting Disney World next week, though, we do have some good brunch news to share with you. One of our favorite restaurants in Disney Springs, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, is expanding its brunch offerings during the busy 4th of July weekend. You’ll be able to indulge in the restaurant’s Rise & Shine Brunch for four consecutive days (it’s usually only offered on Saturday and Sunday). So you’ll be able to enjoy brunch at Homecomin’ from July 4th through July 7th from 9:30AM to 1PM. Homecomin’ Now, we will warn you that this restaurant is pretty popular, so if brunch sounds good to you, we suggest you make a dining reservation as soon as you can. You can do this through the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app. Looking for recommendations on what to order, well, we love just about everything on the menu, but brunch has some real standouts. For example, the delicious House-made Donuts are available for brunch and they’re a nice combo of sweet and savory (there’s BACON). House-made Donuts during Homecomin’ Rise & Shine Brunch We also suggest not passing on the Hallelujah Biscuit, an open-faced Cheddar Drop Biscuit, pimento cheese, Chef Art’s famous fried chicken, pecan-smoked bacon, and sawmill gravy. Yes, it really is as good as it sounds. Hallelujah Biscuit If you’re looking for other brunch spots in Disney Springs, we recommend you check out Raglan Road, Summer House on the Lake, The BOATHOUSE, and Wine Bar George. Of course, if you just want a quick breakfast, there’s always Starbucks and Everglazed Donuts and Cold Brew! Stay tuned to DFB for more. 8. International travel to Orlando is about to become easier. Orlando International Airport For millions of travelers each year, Orlando International Airport (MCO) serves as the gateway to Walt Disney World, the Universal Orlando Resort, and the rest of Central Florida’s tourist attractions. Now, visitors from across the Atlantic will be able to fly a new nonstop route there thanks to one of the world’s biggest airlines. Delta Airlines has announced a new nonstop flight between Orlando and England in partnership with Virgin Atlantic. According to the Orlando Business Journal, this new flight will be available between MCO and London’s Heathrow Airport and will be Delta’s only direct service from Florida to the U.K. Service for the new route is scheduled to begin on October 26th, with this new route currently scheduled to run through March 29th of 2025. ©Getty Images Matteo Curcio, Delta’s senior vice president for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India said of the new deal, “In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, our new route between Orlando and London seamlessly connects two diverse destinations, offering customers a wealth of experiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Floridians can explore London’s historic landmarks like Buckingham Palace and enjoy world-class dining, while Londoners can escape to the sunny beaches and world-famous attractions of Orlando.” The timing of the deal lines up with the massively busy holiday season at Walt Disney World, which means that European visitors who look to take advantage of it can also take in Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom, Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios, and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Magic Kingdom During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Those potential international travelers will also have to deal with Disney’s latest update to their skip-the-line system: Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. These new systems will allow guests to purchase and book Lightning Lanes before their trip (seven days out for Disney hotel guests, and three days out for non-hotel guests). However, there’s still some confusion as to when international travelers will be able to book/whether they’ll need to be in the U.S. already to do so. For now, Cast Members are reporting that international visitors will need to be in the U.S. in order to book Lightning Lanes ahead of time. The program launches on July 24th, so hopefully these kinks will be ironed out by the time the first Delta flights on this route kick off in October. ©Disney Passengers flying from England to Orlando are going to have a brand-new, non-stop option from Delta available to them beginning this October. 9. Don’t make these Walt Disney World mistakes this summer. Spaceship Earth welcomes you to EPCOT
and to World Celebration! Walt Disney World can be overwhelming, especially during the crowded summer months. Both veteran travelers and first time visitors can get tripped up by things like new rule changes, ride refurbishments, and other quirks. These are some of the mistakes you’re likely to make at Walt Disney World this coming July. Not Planning Out How to Ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently scheduled to open to the general public on June 28th, meaning that ride will essentially be brand new – – and likely in VERY high demand – – all throughout July. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure When the attraction opens, it will be available on Genie+ (but not as an Individual up-charge Lightning Lane) as well as feature a virtual queue at both 7:00AM and 1:00PM each day. So you will need to stay on top of things early in the morning to try for either. However, that’s not all. The regular virtual queue will look similar to this Passholder version. According to Disney, “While a standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days, we expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening.” In other words, depending on when you go in a July, there’s a chance there might be a standby queue available. With all these potential options, it’s imperative to have some idea what ways to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be available when you go, and be ready to approach them. Not Preparing for Changes to Genie+ Disney’s paid “skip the line” service is changing in some huge ways — even the name is changing! On July 24th, Genie+ is becoming Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Individual Lightning Lanes are becoming Lightning Lane Single Pass. The biggest change is that you will be able to buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass and book up to three rides IN ADVANCE — up to 7 days in advance if you’re staying in a Disney World hotel, and up to 3 days in advance if you’re not. New Lightning Lane changes are coming While the “bones” of the new system seem about the same — you’ll use the Disney World app to book windows to use the Lightning Lane to ride attractions with (hopefully) minimal waits, strategies for using the new system will be different. You can no longer “stack” Lightning Lanes by booking them later in the evening and backing them up, as everyone will be able to hold 3 at a time and select a new one once you have used one. In addition, the most popular rides in Disney World will be part of a tiered system — and in every park except Animal Kingdom — you will only be able to select one of those top tier rides in advance. Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Lightning Lane Multi Pass in Disney World Forgetting that both Country Bears and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster are Reopening After lengthy refurbishments for each, both the Country Bear Jamboree and the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith are scheduled to reopen in July. The Country Bears are learning some new songs! The Country Bears show in particular will likely see much higher crowds than it has in years, as the show has been completely reworked into the Country Bears Musical Jamboree. This new take on the bears debuts July 17th, and will feature newly countrified costumes and “iconic Disney songs that have been rearranged in ways that pay homage to the classic musical revues in Nashville.” Unlike the complete reworking of the Country Bears, the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster’s long refurbishment was purely for upkeep and repair reasons, so the ride itself will be relatively unchanged. Currently, the Walt Disney World calendar indicates that the ride will reopen on July 27th. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Forgetting that Food and Wine Isn’t Happening In recent years, it was pretty much a given that the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival would be happening during July. In fact, it was such foregone conclusion that some travelers may have booked a July trip without double checking. We hope you weren’t among them, as you’d be sorely disappointed. This year, Food & Wine doesn’t begin until August 29th. You won’t be able to get this Food & Merch in July this year
©Disney Not Adequately Preparing for the Heat Finally the biggest – – and most potentially dangerous – – mistake you can make when going to Disney World in July: Not being ready for the heat. This year, the Orlando area is going to experience one of its hottest summers on record, and it’s imperative that you take it seriously if visiting the parks. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy the short Stayin’ Cool, Disney Wear sunscreen, appropriate clothing, hats, and sunglasses, and pack a cooling towel or miniature fan. Take multiple breaks, and be sure to stay as hydrated as possible by drinking plenty of water — and consider drinking beverages with extra electrolytes. Finally, if you feel yourself succumbing to the heat, head back to your hotel or even the park’s First Aid location. As “valuable” as time at Walt Disney World is, it’s not worth potentially dire health effects. Cooling towel These are some of the biggest potential mistakes one can make visiting Walt Disney World this July. Stay tuned to DFB for further Disney tips. 11. The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is OPEN in Magic Kingdom! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We’ve already had an opportunity to check out the new ride, but we’re so excited for it to officially be open! As part of the celebration, Disney announced new souvenirs, entertainment, and of course, snacks to welcome Tiana’s, and we’re checking a few of those eats out right now! We’re live from the opening day of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and celebrating the only way we know how — with eats and treats, of course! Disney has released quite a few Tiana-themed snacks, and we’ve already reviewed some new favs (including beignets!) But, we’re not stopping anytime soon so let’s check out some more Tiana’s Bayou Adventure eats. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We love a good crisped rice treat, and the Crisped Rice Cereal Treat Lily Pad is almost too adorable to eat. Almost. It’s made with crisped rice cereal, white chocolate, green icing, and a green apple gummy frog on top. Look how cute! We’re happy to report that this tastes pretty much exactly what you would expect it to taste like. If you’ve ever had a classic Rice Krispy Treat coated in chocolate, this tastes pretty similar, though it’s a bit sweeter from the white chocolate. The gummy frog is nothing special and just tastes like a gummy candy you’ve probably had before. The rice treat was super soft, although the chocolate melts and makes it a bit messy to eat. It’s cute, but nothing to write home about. A solid option Next up, we grabbed the Pecan Praline Caramel Apple. This guy was really tasty! The chopped praline pecans added a great crunch and flavor, and they weren’t overly hard which was good so you could actually take a bite. The caramel was soft and had a lot of butter flavor, and that combined with the praline pecans was definitely the dominant flavor. The dark chocolate takes a back seat, but it was a nice addition that helped round out the flavors. It is hard to eat like most caramel apples, but very tasty! While it’s definitely more unique than a regular caramel apple, we’re not sure it would be a dessert we would rush to Magic Kingdom for. Pecan praline caramel apple You can snag the Lily Pad treat and the Caramel Apple at: Main Street Confectionery at Magic Kingdom Park Big Top Souvenirs at Magic Kingdom Park Goofy’s Candy Company at Disney Springs Disney’s Candy Cauldron at Disney Springs Zuri’s Sweets Shop at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park Screen Door General Store at Disney’s BoardWalk Bayview Gifts at Disney’s Contemporary Resort The Green Apple Gummi Frogs are a good option if you’re looking to have a snack on the go! These are available at the Emporium right now or at Critter Co-Op once it officially opens. Gummi frogs The frogs were super sweet, which is to be expected with a gummy candy like this. We didn’t love the green apple flavor — mainly because it was incredibly artificial tasting to us. Of course, we realize this is an artificial candy, but we were hoping for something a bit more natural tasting. Folks with a sweet tooth and kids would probably enjoy these! Cute lil guys The Spicy Butter Toffee Peanuts are another grab-and-go option that you can grab at the Emporium right now or at Critter Co-Op once it opens. The peanuts were super crunchy and the sweetness was the first flavor we were hit with — followed by that buttery toffee. The subtle heat kicked in later and was definitely “Disney spicy,” meaning it won’t totally wreck you, but after eating a few handfuls, the heat definitely intensifies. These make a great not-too-sweet snack if you’re looking for something you can toss in your park bag and have later too. Spicy butter toffee peanuts Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is available via a virtual queue, and it is also part of Disney Genie+ (soon to be known as Lightning Lane Multi-Pass). That means this ride does NOT have an individual (or a la carte) Lightning Lane. To ride, you’ll be able to purchase Genie+ for Magic Kingdom (or get the multi-park Genie+ option) and reserve a Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom On the way to the bayou, you might want to pick up a new souvenir sipper cup while you’re at it! Disney is selling a new Princess Tiana Sipper for $18, and a soft drink is included. Not gonna lie; we love that twisty straw. New souvenir alert! We’ll be bringing you everything you need to know about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on its opening day and beyond, so make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 12. OK, Disney fans. We don’t often recommend overpaying for Disney snacks — especially if they’re just mediocre. But when it comes to coffee — all bets are off. We need a hit of caffeine to get us going in the morning, and if that means heading down to the hotel lobby for a cup of coffee, we are willing to spend $6 to $7 for a cup of cold brew. Anyone else? Lavender Latte, anyone? Sure, you can brew your own coffee in your Disney hotel room, but nothing compares to the stuff you can get at a cafe. And for a while, one Disney coffee shop has been closed, and we’ve been waiting for it to open! But finally, the time has come. A handy little coffee spot is BACK! Disney confirmed that The Coffee House is BACK! The Coffee House is open now at Disneyland Hotel, and it’s got a new menu featuring specialty coffees and an assortment of small bites and grab-and-go items. The Coffee House According to the Disney website, the cafe will be open from 6AM to 4PM. ©Disney The menu features plenty of classic coffee shop staples, like breakfast sandwiches and assorted pastries. ©Disney We spotted a Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich with Egg and Cheese on the breakfast menu for $8 and a Bagel Pizza with Cheese on the snack menu for $8. We’ll be honest. That pizza bagel looks like something we’d make at home, and for $8, we’re a little reluctant to spend the money. ©Disney There are some bigger snacks available, too, like the Italian Ciabatta Sandwich with salami, mortadella, bresaola, arugula, provolone and olive tapenade on a ciabatta roll. The Italian Ciabatta Sandwich is $15. Meanwhile, there’s also a Caprese & Prosciutto Sandwich for $18, and a Roasted Turkey Sandwich with roasted turkey, basil mayo, piquillo peppers, and arugula on focaccia bread for $13. ©Disney We noticed plenty of sweet treats and desserts, too! This Chocolate Cake is $10. ©Disney Now, we have to talk about one more menu item that caught our eye. If you’re willing to spend $36, you can get a large Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie Board with assorted artisanal cheeses and premium deli meats with traditional accompaniments. ©Disney This place has all kinds of fun surprises! Sure, you might go in expecting to grab a quick cup of coffee, but we wouldn’t blame you for being tempted by the alluring call of a charcuterie board. If you stop by, let us know what you think! Some of the snacks seem a tad overpriced, but hey, it’s Disneyland. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 13. Nighttime entertainment in Disney World is something you should NOT miss (even though we occasionally will tell you to skip fireworks for rides, and yes, we’re ironic like that). The problem with watching nighttime entertainment, though
involves all the other people who have the exact same idea. Nighttime fireworks bring serious crowds, and sometimes it’s just not worth navigating the crowds — or it’s not even POSSIBLE to navigate the crowds — to get good fireworks views. Luminous at EPCOT But you do have other options. Some you may know about, like booking a meal at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort to see the Happily Ever After fireworks in Magic Kingdom. But you also have some options to catch the EPCOT nighttime show, and one of those is in a place you might not expect! EPCOT’s nighttime show is Luminous The Symphony of Us, and it features fireworks, fountains, lasers, and cool lighting effects in the center of World Showcase Lagoon. Disney describes the show as a “dazzling pageant” that “comes together to remind us that we are more alike than we are different.” But getting a good seat for the show can be tricky. What if we told you that you didn’t even have to GO to EPCOT to see it? Luminous We’re going to tell you what to do instead, and it might just blow your mind. You’re going to want to head on over to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (which is on the Skyliner), and have dinner at Sebastian’s Bistro. You’ll want to be in the restaurant during Luminous’ showtime (you can check that in the My Disney Experience app). Sebastian’s Bistro You’ll get to watch the show while having a nice meal away from the crowds in World Showcase. Don’t believe it? We’ve got photographic evidence! Luminous from Sebastian’s Bistro What makes this work so well is that you can even BE in EPCOT and easily head over to Caribbean Beach by hopping on the Skyliner at EPCOT and taking it directly to the hotel. It’s also a good way to get dinner and a show. Dinner and a show We’ll also tell you that Sebastian’s Bistro is one of those Disney World restaurants we think is SO underrated. You’ll find a family-style dinner menu inspired by Latin and Caribbean food, but we’ll also tell you the cocktails are AMAZING, too. The food is solid, but let us share a BIG secret with you: the dessert here is possibly even better than the dessert at ‘Ohana. No, really! It’s similar to the famous ‘Ohana bread pudding, but the addition of coconut takes it up a notch. House-made Coconut Pineapple Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce So, trust us, you’ll be doing yourself a favor by heading to Sebastian’s Bistro to catch the fireworks — your stomach will thank you, too! 15. Big changes are on the way to Walt Disney World! EPCOT In late June 2024, Disney shocked the theme park world when they announced that their Genie+ program – – which had only been introduced in 2021 – – was being radically transformed. The new skip the line system, broken down into Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, is scheduled to debut on July 24th. So what’s the best way to use it? Let’s find out. Before you can figure out the best way to use the new Lightning Lane system, it’s best to break down HOW the new system works. Lightning Lane Multi Pass You will now be able to make three Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit, and choose available times as you make your selections. From there, as you use the first selection on each day of your visit, you can use the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection. Lightning Lane Lightning Lane Single Pass Lightning Lane Single Pass will remain similar to Individual Lightning Lanes, today in concept. You’ll still be able to “secure a time to ride one of (Disney’s) most highly demanded attractions” for an additional charge. However, you’ll now be able to make said purchase and plan in advance. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind There are three tiers of rides for booking at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. When it comes to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, each of these three parks has a group of attractions which you can only pick one of when booking your early Lightning Lanes: Magic Kingdom: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure EPCOT: Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Soarin’ Around the World. Hollywood Studios: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and Slinky Dog Dash. The next tier features groups of rides of which you can choose 2 (or all 3 if you’d prefer) to fill out your three Multi Pass Lightning Lanes. Magic Kingdom: The Barnstormer, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world”, Mad Tea Party, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid EPCOT: Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Journey into Imagination with Figment, Living with the Land, Mission: SPACE, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Spaceship Earth, and Turtle Talk with Crush. Hollywood Studios: Alien Swirling Saucers, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, Disney Junior Play & Dance!, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Muppet*Vision 3D, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania! Each of these parks also have attractions that are ONLY available as Lightning Lane Single Passes, and can’t be selected as Lightning Lane Multi Passes: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle/Run for Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for EPCOT, and Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios. Mine Train Animal Kingdom is slightly different. The park only features one tier of rides for Lightning Lane Multi Pass, any three of which can be chosen for Animal Kingdom day: Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, Feathered Friends in Flight!, Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue
and Beyond!, It’s Tough to Be a Bug!, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and NaÊ»vi River Journey. The park also features a Lighting Lane Single Pass-only ride, Avatar Flight of Passage. One further wrinkle: If you’re staying at a Disney hotel (or other select hotels), you’ll be able to purchase and book both Multi Pass and Single Pass Lightning Lane passes beginning at 7:00AM ET, seven days in advance of your trip for your entire stay (up to 14 days). If you’re not staying at a Disney hotel, you can begin purchasing and booking Lightning Lanes three days in advance. ©Disney So, all that being said, what’s the best way use the system? Well, first of all, the value of staying at Disney hotel can’t be overstated. The extra four days to book Lightning Lanes is one of the biggest game-changing perks Disney hotel guests have ever gotten, to the point where we think it make staying on property worth it vs staying off property. Art of Animation lobby Whether you’re staying off property or not — and in-turn booking your Lightning Lanes seven days in advance or three — there are still some things we’d advise: Have your whole party loaded into the My Disney Experience App before 7:00AM on the day you’re eligible to start booking Lightning Lanes, so you can move through the process quickly. If you plan to purchases both Multi Pass and Single Pass for each day of your trip, do both for each day at the same time. Have a plan of action. Read up on the groupings above and know which rides you want to shoot for as far as Lightning Lane Multi Passes go, and especially which Lightning Lane Single Pass options you wish to purchase. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Once the new Lightning Lane system goes into operation at the end of July, we’ll likely find more tips as we explore the new system’s ins and outs. 16. It’s finally HAPPENING! The newest Disney World ride is OPEN and we’re here to check it all out! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Concept Art ©Disney Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland closed about a year and a half ago, and Disney has been busy turning the ride into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This updated attraction takes you on a trip through the bayou with Tiana, Louis, Mama Odie, and other characters (both familiar and new!). The ride officially opens TODAY, June 28th, and we’re taking you with us to experience it all! We’ll be updating this post throughout the day as we experience all that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has to offer and dig into the details and Easter eggs of this attraction. Stay tuned! How To Ride First, you need to know HOW to get on the ride! It came as no shock that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is using a virtual queue to manage guest demand. The ride also has a Lightning Lane. To ride for free, you’ll need to join the virtual queue. If you pay for a Lightning Lane, you’ll get to skip the standby line. Virtual Queue On June 28th, the opening day for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Genie+ sold out in one minute. Literally — sixty seconds! After refreshing the screen twice at 7AM, by 7:01, the virtual queue was full. The virtual queue for Tiana’s opens at 7AM and 1PM each day. To join, open the My Disney Experience app to its homepage and scroll down to find the “Virtual Queues” section. Click on “Join Virtual Queue.” ©Disney Go to the Magic Kingdom section and choose Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Hit “Join Virtual Queue.” ©Disney Once you’ve entered the information about who is in your group, you’ll be able to join! (You can actually expedite this process by confirming your party ahead of time, up to an hour before the queue opens.) You’ll get an assigned boarding group number, and when your number is called, you can return to the queue to hop in line. You’ll receive a notification from the My Disney Experience app when your number is called, and at that point, you will have one hour to return to the ride. ©Disney Here’s everything you need to access the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience App: A registered account on the My Disney Experience app If you’re an Annual Passholder, a Park Pass reservation for Magic Kingdom is required for the 7AM drop. For the 1PM drop, guests are required to be INSIDE Magic Kingdom. You can read our step-by-step instructions for getting a spot in the virtual queue at the link below. Check out our detailed guide to the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure virtual queue here. Genie+ / Lightning Lane Multi-Pass Disney Genie+ is an optional paid service in addition to the standard Disney Genie (which will be known as Lightning Lane Multi-Pass as of July 24th) Disney Genie+ allows you to bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane (previously known as the FastPass line) at select attractions by paying a base price — and that’s another option for riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. ©Disney On opening day, the Multi-Park and Magic Kingdom Genie+ sold out within seconds, and the Lightning Lanes were booked for the day. To book the Lightning Lane for this attraction, you’ll need to have the My Disney Experience app downloaded on your phone, be logged into your account, and have your park tickets linked. For the full details, make sure to check out our guide to Lightning Lanes. Learn more about Individual Lightning Lanes here. Crowds As you might expect, people are pretty excited about this ride, which means there are plenty of crowds in Magic Kingdom today! Well, what do you know?! Most of the chaos seems to be central to Frontierland, where Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is located, but we’re also seeing a general uptick in people all around the park. The line There’s a bit of a bottleneck on Main Street, U.S.A. as well — thanks to the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise being sold at the Emporium only today. We’ll get to more details on that soon! Let’s Ride! The Storyline Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss,” and you get to “join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.” Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Remember how, at the end of the movie, Princess Tiana makes her dream come true when she opens her very own restaurant? Well, the story of the attraction picks up during New Orleans’ Carnival season, and Tiana is hosting a Mardi Gras Party for the people of New Orleans — the community that has supported her successful restaurant. (The storyline is set about a year after the movie.) Tiana’s Bayou Adventure But Tiana realizes that the party is MISSING an important ingredient, and she needs our help to find it! You can check out our FULL ride-through of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure here! Themed Snacks It wouldn’t be a brand-new Disney World ride without a whole bunch of exclusive eats now, would it?! You can check out all the Tiana-themed eats and drinks at Disney World right here. Merchandise There are two gift shops for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s Bayou General. However, for opening day and a bit afterward, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise will be available at the Emporium! Tiana’s Bayou General Store is open, but only to purchase on-ride photos. Merchandise event Disney is managing crowds for Tiana’s merchandise thanks to Cast Members manning a line and letting people preview souvenirs before officially entering the store. Keep this in mind if you’re looking to shop today, but we found that Cast Members were doing a great job of keeping things under control. Lots of people, but pretty manageable! We got a chance to preview all of this merchandise before it was released and you can check it out here. Like many of Disney’s most popular attractions, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will have an on-ride photo. ©Disney As with Disney’s other on-ride photos, the image will be accessible through the resort’s PhotoPass Service’s all-inclusive digital download package, Memory Maker as well as a print from the Tiana’s Bayou General Store location. Your ride photo! But, our favorite souvenir just might be the Commemorative Print Package available at the General Store retail location. The opening day photo package is $32.95 plus tax, and includes an 8×10 print of your attraction photo, two recipe cards, a thank you note from Tiana for attending Mardi Gras, two specialty prints, and a digital copy of the attraction photo. Check out ALL the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise right here. And that’s a wrap on our adventure with Tiana through the bayou! 17. We have loved A LOT of things in Disney World that have suddenly disappeared. Cinderella Castle The Magical Express, FastPasses, and The Great Movie Ride are just a few of the popular things in Disney World that have left us too soon. We know that Disney World changes, and we have to accept that some of the best attractions, restaurants, shops, and accommodations won’t be around forever as they may eventually be revamped into something new or taken away completely. But there is one recent change that we CANNOT get over. Disney has “committed a crime” in Magic Kingdom, and we’re still in complete shock. This is our worst fear and it has come true! We seriously cannot believe these delicious corn-filled dreamy dough balls have gone missing. It’s devastating, really. But sadly, this is not the first time something like this has happened. Disney has removed some of our favorite treats from menus in the past, too. For example, Wendell’s Bear Claw disappeared from Westward Ho Refreshments in Magic Kingdom in 2023! Wendell’s Bear Claw Wendell’s Bear Claw was a traditional bear claw pastry dipped in and filled with chocolate and sprinkled with hazelnuts. Even though this treat sounds simple, it was oh, so good! It was an extremely sad day when we found out this snack was leaving the park. We miss you, Wendell’s Bear Claw That’s not the only item that suddenly disappeared and left our hearts empty. The waffle sandwiches have recently disappeared from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, as well! Now, instead of getting the delicious sandwiches, you can get Mickey waffles with toppings such as the chocolate-hazelnut spread and bananas. The Waffle Sandwiches are gone! Over at Sunshine Tree Terrace, the favorite Citrus Swirl is incredibly inconsistent and is currently gone from the menu. This orange and vanilla swirled ice cream treat is so great when it’s available, so we’re very sad that we can’t currently get it! Citrus Swirl Another Dole Whip favorite was the Peter Pan Float at Storybook Treats. It was Key Lime soft serve paired with Sprite, and topped with a chocolate feather decorated to look just like the one on Peter Pan’s hat. But sadly, it has been missing for a few years now. HOWEVER, we came up with a way to create a dupe of this delicious snack over in Animal Kingdom at Trilo-Bites! Peter Pan Float Last, the Chocolate Donut Holes, Digital Dumplings, and Mochi Ice Cream Treats at Energy Bytes have also gone missing! Now, you’ll find slushies that are unique to Energy Bytes and a Fruit Cup there. Beef and Broccoli Digital Dumplings! So, we have to know, when will the madness end?! Will we ever be able to trust a beloved snack again? We know things come and go in Disney World, but the hush puppies were a staple of Columbia Harbour House, and we desperately hope they will return once again. You know we’ll be watching for any sign of their return! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food news! 18. Who’s ready to journey down into the Bayou? ©Disney The NEW Magic Kingdom ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is open NOW (on June 28th), and now that it’s open to everyone, we’re here to tell you how the queue and boarding process will work. As many fans predicted, the ride uses a virtual queue to manage demand, and now we know exactly how that virtual queue works. Disney announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure uses a virtual queue in Magic Kingdom. This has become Disney’s go-to strategy for managing demand for popular rides. A couple of other rides that have a virtual queue in Disney World right now include Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run. “To all who come to this happy place, welcome.” — Walt Disney Here, we’ll be covering a step-by-step guide for getting in the virtual queue, but if you’d like to skip to a specific topic, check these articles out below: What is a Virtual Queue? Which Attractions Use a Virtual Queue? What Do I Need to Enter a Virtual Queue? How Do I Enter a Virtual Queue in Disney World? How Do I Enter a Virtual Queue in Disneyland? What if I Don’t Get a Spot in a Virtual Queue? But now, onto the step-by-step guide! What’s a Virtual Queue? Let’s start at the beginning. A virtual queue is a tool available through the My Disney Experience app (Disney World) or the Disneyland app (Disneyland Resort) that allows guests to reserve a space in line for the most popular park attractions ahead of time from their phones. If you’re able to secure a spot in the virtual queue, you will be assigned a boarding group, and then you’ll use that individual boarding pass to enter the line when it’s time to ride. ©Disney Having a virtual queue means there is no standby line available, so you have only two options to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: the virtual queue or buying an Individual Lightning Lane. Disney did share that this could change in the future, but for now, there is no traditional standby line. What Do I Need For The Virtual Queue? Here’s everything you need to access the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience App: A registered account on the My Disney Experience app If you’re an Annual Passholder, a Park Pass reservation for Magic Kingdom is required for the 7AM drop. For the 1PM drop, guests are required to be INSIDE Magic Kingdom. The virtual queue works exactly the same as the one for TRON Lightcycle/Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind; you can hop from another park and join the virtual queue once you enter Magic Kingdom in the afternoon, IF spots are still available. Preparing to Join The Virtual Queue You’ll first want to make sure that you have the My Disney Experience app installed on your phone and that it’s updated to the latest version. ©Disney Sign into your Disney account and check that the following things are linked to your account: Valid admission tickets; Disney Park Pass Reservations; The accounts of any family and friends who are visiting the park with you and wish to be in the same boarding group. Booking The Reservation The virtual queue will open at 7AM and again at 1PM. You can be anywhere for the first opportunity but must be in Magic Kingdom to snag one at 1PM. Step 1: Confirm Your Party You can confirm your party up to an hour in advance of the virtual queue opening. This will help ensure everyone is linked to the reservation. Make sure you have the right people on your list! On the app, under “Join Virtual Queue,” you’ll find a button that says “Confirm Your Party.” Step 2: Join The Virtual Queue At EXACTLY 7AM (or 1PM), join the virtual queue by clicking the button. We suggest using a world clock on another device to be accurate to the second. ©Disney From here, move quickly through the prompts to land that Virtual Queue spot! These spots are gone in seconds, so when we say move fast, we really mean it. Step 3: Celebrate or Go To Plan B The app will notify you immediately if you have successfully booked a space in the Virtual Queue with an assigned Boarding Group Number. ©Disney If you’re successful in joining the queue, you will receive a boarding group. Disney calls boarding groups back in sections, and once your group is called back, you’ll receive a notification from the My Disney Experience app telling you to head back to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. You’ll have one hour to return once your group is called. Although Disney doesn’t give you a return time, you can track the progress of the virtual queue on the app to get a fairly good estimate of when your group will be called. If you have not received a boarding group, you can choose to buy Genie+, soon to be called Lightning Lane Multi Pass, to ride the attraction. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is one of the many rides included in Disney’s paid skip-the-line service. While it may be expensive, these will also book up fast, so we suggest grabbing a Lightning Lane reservation ASAP if you really want to ride. ©Disney During the first few weeks that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is open, it may be more challenging to secure a boarding group than once the ride is open for a few months. On the first day of the opening, virtual queue spots were gone within a few seconds at the 7AM drop. You have to be FAST. ©Disney And that’s it! 19. The day has finally come! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially OPEN at Disney World! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Going forward, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be available to ride as part of Disney Genie+, which is soon to be called Lightning Lane Multi Pass. That means this ride does NOT have an individual (or a la carte) Lightning Lane. To ride, you can purchase Genie+ for Magic Kingdom (or get the multi-park Genie+ option) and reserve a Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Or, you can join the FREE virtual queue for the ride, meaning Disney will send you a notification when it’s your turn to ride. So
you’re probably wondering
how fast did Genie+ sell out on OPENING DAY? Well, we’re here to tell ya! On June 28th, the opening day for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Genie+ sold out in one minute. Literally — sixty seconds! After refreshing the screen twice at 7AM, by 7:01, the virtual queue was full. ©Disney Minutes later, Genie+ also sold out for Magic Kingdom and Multiple Parks. The good news is that only the Magic Kingdom and Multi-Park options sold out, though, so if you’re visiting another park and hoping to score Genie+ for that park only, this likely won’t affect you! ©Disney To book the Lightning Lane for this attraction, you’ll need to have the My Disney Experience app downloaded on your phone, be logged into your account, and have your park tickets linked. For the full details, make sure to check out our guide to Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. Lightning Lanes are CHANGING, and we have the details! 20. There’s always something new happening Disney World! Magic Kingdom You may have heard a lot about Disney’s new ride — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opens on June 28th in the Magic Kingdom. And there’s been lots of discussion about Disney’s changes to its skip the line paid service (which used to be Genie+ but is now called Lightning Lane Multi Pass). But there are also two MAJOR attractions opening in Disney World in July that you need to know about! Country Bear Jamboree The Country Bear Jamboree show in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom is being updated in some major ways — and it re-opens on July 17th, 2024! Bear with us! The show featuring animatronic bears is a Disney World classic, but it’s getting all new songs and the bears are getting new outfits! Disney has worked with producers and artists in Nashville to arrange some fan-favorite Disney songs in country genres such as rockabilly and bluegrass! The show is heavily influenced by the Opry-style shows that originated in Nashville. The new show will open with Trixie singing “Try Everything” from Zootopia. Trixie will be voiced by Emily Ann Roberts, a country and gospel singer who rose to fame as a contestant on “The Voice.” Emily Ann Roberts in the studio with producer Mac McAnally. And Grammy winners Allison Russell and Chris Thile recorded “A Whole New World” from Aladdin for the show! We also know that a rockabilly-style “Bare Necessities” will be featured. We know that the updated character outfits will feature plenty of ten-gallon hats, bolo ties, bandanas, and more. NEW costumes! If you’ve never watched the Country Bear Jamboree before, you may want to give it a try. Bonus: It’s a great place to rest your feet in some air conditioning! We can’t wait to see the whole show when it opens July 17th! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been closed for refurbishment since early January. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster This Aerosmith-themed roller coaster will re-open on July 27th! When the coaster first opened in 1999, it was the first major thrill coaster at Walt Disney World, and the first to have an inversion at any of Disney’s then-five American theme parks. This ride has had frequent down time and was also closed for several months in 2023 for maintenance. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster There have been rumors for several years that Disney is planning to re-theme the roller coaster to feature a different band — everything from Queen to The Muppets have been mentioned. But Disney has made no announcements indicating anything will be changed on the ride when it re-opens. 5 Major Changes Coming to Disney World in July We’ll be covering both of these attractions on the days they open, so be sure to keep following us here at Disney Food Blog for all the latest! 21. Who’s ready for an adventure with Disney Cruise Line? ©Disney Okay, we’re totally being tongue-in-cheek, because we’re about to tell you some NEW details about the seventh ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, the Disney Adventure. The Disney Adventure’s home port will be in Singapore and will offer 3-and 4-night cruises. Let’s just say some new details have dropped about the ship that have us checking flights to Singapore for the ship’s maiden voyage (which we don’t even have a date for yet). The Disney Adventure will feature stories from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel and is being referred to Disney Cruise Line’s “biggest adventure yet.” Okay, that’s got our attention. Disney just released some new details about what you can expect on the ship — and we are EXCITED. The ship will “be packed with immersive experiences and entertainment featuring beloved characters where families can create memories to last a lifetime
without ever leaving the ship!” ©Disney The Disney Adventure will feature the Disney Imagination Garden, an “enchanted valley inspired by more than 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney stories.” The garden will feature nods to The Jungle Book, Moana, and more. The space will also feature performances on an open-air stage. The ship will also have Disney Discovery Reef where you can “travel down to the ocean floor” to explore the worlds and settings of The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, and Luca. This area will also feature unique shops and restaurants. ©Disney In Town Square, you’ll get to visit an enchanted forest full of shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants, and entertainment venues based on the fantasy settings of Tangled, Cinderella, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Princess and the Frog, and more. Marvel Landing will offer an “Avengers-level adventure featuring thrilling attractions” and an all-new experience. Yes, Disney said ATTRACTIONS. New Marvel attractions on a ship, y’all! Little Ones will get to visit Toy Story Place where they can hang out with friends from Andy’s Room in an interactive water play area with different themed food spots. Cruising with Disney is the best! The Disney Adventure is currently under construction in Germany and is expected to have a capacity big enough for around 6,700 people plus 2,500 crew members. Disney has not yet revealed a timeline for its maiden voyage, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more details and share them as we learn more. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for more. You never want to wear new shoes for the first time in Disney World because that’s just asking for trouble (in the form of painful blisters). One of the best things about Crocs is how customizable they are. You can get Disney-themed Jibbitz to put on them, and suddenly your shoes have a fun Disney flair! But if you want SERIOUSLY Disney-themed shoes, you’ll want to check out this collection we found on Amazon.
