If you’ve ever wanted to take a cruise but don’t want to deal with the THOUSANDS of other people on board, going on a smaller cruise ship is likely the best option for you. Time to explore the stateroom! That means you’re going to have to look beyond Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, and other popular cruise ships, which often have hundreds or even thousands of staterooms on board. However, we’ve got a suggestion for you, and that’s to take a voyage on the National Geographic Orion ship! This ship only has 53 staterooms and allows guests to explore little-known waters and isles in the Pacific Islands, Antarctica, and the Mediterranean to experience each location’s natural and cultural wonders up close. But how do these staterooms compare to others we’ve seen on other ships? Come along for a full tour! Back in 2022, Disney announced that they’d be partnering with National Geographic to offer unique vacation experiences that take you all around the world with a National Geographic expert. ©National Geographic Expeditions We got a chance to check out a stateroom aboard one of the ships in this fleet, the National Geographic Orion, and couldn’t help but compare it to other staterooms we’ve stayed in. The layout in our stateroom was actually great! There was plenty of space, and plenty of room to unpack, because the luggage fits under the bed and there are several drawers. Luggage can fit under the beds! There are also two large closets that allow for plenty of hanging space, and you’ll also find shelves and additional drawers in the closets, as well as a safe. You’ll also find additional blankets, an ice bucket and two cups, and your life jackets. Lots of space in the closet There were two hooks on the wall at the door as you come in that were perfect for hanging purses, lanyards, etc. We personally used them to hang our life jackets which we need almost daily to take the zodiac boats to shore when not docked. There are also a variety of outlets in the room, which we appreciated. At the desk area there are some USB ports, some US outlets and a universal outlet. Outlets near the desk area Only one side of the bed has an outlet port, though, but you’ll find USB and multiple types as well. The alarm clock had 2 euro ports on it and we used small adaptors so we could recharge our portable chargers here. Closer look at different outlets Inside the bathroom, there are bars of soap and an adorable little zodiac boat soap dish. You’ll also find bamboo lemongrass hand wash and lavender lime lotion by Lather, and all the toiletries have a high end spa feel to them. We also appreciated that the bathroom was pretty spacious with lots of storage. There was a large corner medicine type cabinet with multiple shelves, as well as plenty of counter space. We love the nice makeup mirror, and the cups on the wall make great toothbrush holders. The shower itself is quite spacious, and there’s a retractable clothesline that goes across the top if you need to hang dry anything. We had great water pressure and never ran out of hot water, but very different than Disney Cruise Line is the fact that the toilet is not in a separate room than the shower! The bathroom! In the shower there is both Mint Thyme Shampoo and Yuzu Bergamot Conditioner as well as bamboo lemongrass body wash. Shower amenties The room has a hairdryer for use as well, which can be found in one of the desk drawers. Hairdryer There were plenty of tissues and toilet paper were always available, with refills available, so we never felt like we were missing anything. Plenty of refills available As for the beds on this ship, the bed configuration has two options; a king or two twins. The twins seem a little longer than normal twins, and we ended up having the twin configuration and actually liked it. It gave us a little more room to have the nightstand in between the two beds. The beds were also incredibly comfy, and each one had two pillows to choose from, which we also loved. However, staterooms only sleep two people no matter what configuration you have, so that’s important to keep in mind. We were big fans of these beds and pillows! We overall loved the layout of this stateroom and would totally book it again! We can’t wait to tell you more about this cruise soon, so stay tuned to DFB! Yes, Disney World isn’t cheap, but it also doesn’t have to be expensive. If you’re trying to plan a Disney World trip, you need to start with a realistic budget. Let’s go to Disney World Now, that isn’t always easy to figure out because there’s so much to consider and involve decisions about where to stay, what tickets you’ll need, how you’re going to get there, and more. BUT we’re going to break down the costs for you to give you a budget you can get started with and work from there. Travel Okay, the next thing you have to figure out is HOW you’re getting to Disney World. Depending on where you live, your most affordable option may be driving over flying. Gas prices in Florida are running around $2.60 per gallon right now, so you’ll have to consider that cost, but you might also need to book an overnight stay at a hotel on your way (around $100-$200 per night). Driving to Disney World The good news is that you’re staying on Disney property, so you’ll get free parking at the theme parks. That’s a savings of around $30 per day. For travel, let’s budget around $500, which brings our grand total so far to $5,806.88. Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass Once upon a time, you could get free FastPasses for Disney World rights. That program was replaced with Lightning Lanes, which help you skip the regular lines at many popular attractions…but it’s going to cost you. However, if you’ve got younger kids, this could prove very helpful. So let’s budget four days of Lightning Lane access at $30 per person, per day. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight That comes to $480, which brings our total up to $6,286.88. Souvenirs Okay, you KNOW you need to buy some merchandise while you’re on vacation, and we can guarantee your kid will be begging you for a bubble wand. Then there are Mickey ears, lightsabers, pins, clothes, and so much more. For this trip, though, we think a realistic souvenir budget is $50 per family member, which adds an additional $200 to the overall budget. Time to do some shopping! Pro tip: save money on Disney souvenirs by getting them ahead of time on Amazon or The Disney Store website You could save SO much just by doing that. Okay, with souvenirs, our budget is $6,486.88 Extras, just in case Life happens, as do unexpected costs, even in Disney World. So we’re going to add an additional $200 for anything that comes up, whether that be buying something we forgot to pack, first aid items, satisfying a craving for a Mickey bar, tolls (because Florida does have toll roads), etc. Forget something? It could cost you… That brings our total to $6,686.88. Grand Total So our grand total for a family of four visiting Disney World from June 15th through June 21st will cost roughly around $6,686.88. Note that it could cost more or less, depending on when you plan on visiting, but there are ways to save even more money. Tips on how to save money Okay, so you want to save more money for your trip. Here are our best tips: Look for discounts. Disney often offers deals and discounts throughout the year on rooms, as well as free dining plan offers. Travel on weekdays. It costs less to travel on the weekdays than it does on the weekends. You’ll find cheaper prices for everything from airfare to hotel rooms to park tickets. Get a travel agent. Using a travel agent like our friends at Small World Travels means you’ll always get the best rate, no matter what. Attorney Ben Crump and the family of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala on Tuesday angrily accused theme park giant Universal Studios Orlando of ignoring complaints from riders about the safety and lack of restraints on its new fast-paced rollercoaster Stardust Racers at Epic Universe. “We believe that there is something wrong with the design of this ride,” Crump said. “They tried to blame the victims. They didn’t want to say, ‘Well, maybe we have to go back and critically assess the design of this ride.’” Zavala lost consciousness while riding Stardust Racers with his girlfriend on Sept. 17 and later died. The Orange County medical examiner ruled the death as accidental and the result of “multiple blunt impact injuries.” Ana Zavala, mother of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, speaks during a press conference in downtown Orlando, Florida, Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. Zavala died Sept. 17 from blunt impact injuries after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal's Epic Universe. (Spectrum News 13) Universal President Karen Irwin released a memo days after Zavala’s death stating the ride “functioned as intended” and park employees correctly followed procedures. But Crump said the Zavala family is distraught to learn that previous riders complained about the rollercoaster, which reaches speeds of up to 62 mph and rises 133 feet. “Multiple riders have come forward and reported their own injuries [to the theme park],” Crump said while surrounded by his legal team and Zavala’s family. “There were problems with restraints, riders being thrown forward. This shows that Kevin’s case was not an isolated incident.” Universal officials did not respond in time to Crump and his attorneys claims. Stardust Racers has since remained closed as investigations and reviews by state inspectors, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the theme park are conducted. Zavala’s father, Carlos Rodriguez Ortiz, said Universal has not contacted him or his family since his son’s death. “I haven’t received any phone calls, emails, texts [from Universal],” Ortiz said. “It’s like nothing happened to them. But it happened to us. … And I need some answers.” Attorney Paul Grimke, of Crump’s legal team, said Universal has agreed to allow his investigators into the park to inspect the ride. But he said the theme park has declined to provide Grimke and other attorneys video footage from surveillance cameras placed along the nearly mile-long track route that could show when Zavala hit his head and lost consciousness. Attorney Natalie Jackson said Zavala’s girlfriend and witnesses said Zavala was fully conscious at the start of the ride. “But it was at the first dip that he lurched forward and hit head,” she said. “And from then on, it was a back and forth of hitting his head.” Jackson pointed out Zavala had “lacerations.” Crump added Zavala was slumped over “the metal bar” and “there was blood” when the ride finished. “It was a chaotic scene,” Crump said. “It was absolutely horrific.” Crump said his office has received “multiple” reports of other riders being hurt on Stardust Racers since it opened to the public on May 22. As an example, he cited a Sanford woman recently who recently sued Universal, claiming that she suffered whiplash, severe headaches and injuries that required hospitalization after riding the rollercoaster last spring. The woman, Sandi Streets, 49, privately settled the lawsuit with the theme park on Friday for an undisclosed amount, according to Orange County court records. Crump speculated on Tuesday that Universal settled quickly with Streets to avoid further publicity. “They won’t be able to silence everybody,” Crump said. (Patrick Connolly/Orlando Sentinel) Zavala’s sister, Lisa Cruz Rodriguez, read a statement from a woman who said she rode Stardust Racers in May and also lost consciousness during the ride. She was taken to a hospital emergency room, according to the statement from the unnamed woman. “My child had to watch me with my head flailing,” according to her statement. “I told them [Universal] that they had a problem with these severe launches. …They know they have problems with the rides.” Pointing out that Zavala used a wheelchair because of a lifelong spinal cord atrophy, Crump said the people complaining of injuries were able-bodied. “They assisted him with his girlfriend in getting on the ride,” Crump said. “If they [Universal] believed that disabled people should not be on this roller coaster, then why would you assist him in getting on the rollercoaster? There’s so much to see and do during the Halloween season in Disney World! Disney Springs Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is in full swing, and there’s even a special spot to get spooky treats! We love this time of year, and we really love it when we can get that Disney magic without even needing a park ticket. That’s where Disney Springs comes in, and right now, they’re offering the coolest custom souvenir for the Halloween season! Disney Springs is one of the most underrated spots in Disney World thanks to its amazing restaurants, live entertainment, and shopping! We love it especially because it doesn’t require a single cent to go inside or even to park. Another reason we love it, is it offers things that you might not find in every Disney park, like Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers! Crystal Arts! Crystal Arts is also located in Disney’s Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but that doesn’t make it any less special! Inside, you can find real artisans working on glass blowing and other handmade crystal souvenirs. We love to check out the store every time we stroll past, but recently we found a souvenir that we need just in time for the Fall. A look at some of the souvenirs! For $89, you can create your very own crystal pumpkin! You get to spend some time picking out your own colors and accents for the pumpkin. You can even customize the base color and the top of the step thanks to the different designs offered! A look at the different colors you can choose to go inside your pumpkin. You can choose from colors like crystal clear, burnt orange, green, and black for the stem. Once you’ve chosen the color, you can see your souvenir come to life! The artisan is creating a pumpkin! Once the pumpkin is blown, it will take roughly 30 minutes to cool down before you can add your colors. A Cast Member helped us fill in the color and then sealed the top. During the cool-down period, you can either stroll around Disney Springs or hang out in the store. Whatever you want! Right now, this souvenir is exclusive to Disney Springs, but Cast Members did tease that the Magic Kingdom shop has something else in the works. The finished pumpkin! Right now, they’re able to create up to 4 of these pumpkins an hour. Starting on October 1st, in EPCOT, you will be able to fill your own crystal skull in a similar experience! Several completed pumpkins! We seriously loved how customizable this was. It’s such a special souvenir that can be displayed year after year, plus it’s fun Disney memorabilia that feels like a secret. The world’s FIRST-EVER Bluey ride is in the works, and we can hardly contain our excitement! ©Alton Towers Recently, it was revealed that Alton Towers in the United Kingdom is building its very own Bluey ride, which is set to debut in the spring of 2026! If you’re eager to hop on a plane and check out the new attraction, we’re dishing on all the latest details the park has revealed and what you can expect from this Heeler Family-themed family coaster. Opening in CBeebies Land inside Alton Towers Resort, the very first Bluey ride will, in fact, be a family coaster. CBeebies is a prominent preschool network in the U.K. and is the British broadcaster of Bluey. ©Alton Towers While not much else about the ride has been revealed, we have learned that fans will also get to meet the Heeler family and experience live entertainment within Big Fun Showtime! ©Alton Towers The fun doesn’t stop there, as guests can book a themed “Bluey sleepover” at the CBeebies Land Hotel, too! Rooms will include plenty of Bluey theming, and you’ll even be able to spot Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli. ©Alton Towers Bookings for the hotel rooms are currently available on the Alton Towers website. ©Alton Towers Bluey is continuing its cultural dominance after making shockwaves with its viewing numbers and theme park/cruise line integration. We’ve already seen Bluey and Bingo join the Disney Cruise Line in New Zealand and Australia, and it was announced in 2024 that Bluey “will join Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on land and Disney Cruise Line at sea.” Bluey! It gets even bigger for Bluey, as BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios (in partnership with Ludo Studio) officially announced that a new feature-length movie will be coming to theaters on August 6th, 2027. Bluey’s big screen debut is being written and directed by Joe Brumm (Bluey’s creator) and will feature original voice actors, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Chilli and Bandit. ©Disney We’re so excited for all these developing Bluey projects and can’t wait to see them in action! The Walt Disney Company has had some major announcements over the last few years. ©The Walt Disney Company The Disney Parks around the world are getting some major overhauls, a brand-new Disney park is in development, the cruise line is expanding, and that’s just scratching the surface. While all of those announcements feel pretty big, there’s one major change on the horizon that will impact the entire company for years to come. We are just a few months away from one of the biggest Disney announcements we’ve seen in years. If you haven’t been following along with the changes to the Walt Disney Company, no worries! We’ve been following every detail for over 15 years, especially when it comes to the Disney Company’s CEO search. Walt Disney Company Headquarters in Burbank Disney’s current CEO, Bob Iger, initially joined the company in 1996 when the company acquired ABC. He rose through the ranks before becoming CEO in 2005. He stayed in that position until 2020, when Bob Chapek took over. Chapek served for a few years within the company before he ultimately stepped down as CEO, and Bob Iger returned in 2022. ©Disney In 2023, Disney confirmed that Bob Iger would stay on in the CEO position through 2026. The company confirmed in late 2024 that the name of the new CEO will be revealed early in 2026, but that is the extent of what we know for a fact on the subject. This timeline was much later than we had initially anticipated, and we are still eagerly awaiting even a hint at who could take up the mantle. ©Disney There have been tons of speculations online over the years as to who could replace Iger, with several names coming to light, some within the company and others outside of it. As the rumors persist, there have been 4 names that have stayed in the conversation throughout changes at the company. Of those four names, many believe that Josh D’Amaro, the Chairperson of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, is the most likely successor. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that sources say D’Amaro “is now in pole position,” thanks to his work overseeing the $60 billion expansion of the parks and helping Disney expand into video games with Epic, which made the game Fortnite. Josh D’Amaro at Destination D23, 2023 ©Disney D’Amaro also tends to be the face of announcements and media events for the company, making him the most public figure of the potential candidates. Other names that stick out during the search include Dana Walden (Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment), Alan Bergman (Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment), and Jimmy Pitaro (Chairman of ESPN). Walden, in particular, has been in the news recently due to her alleged involvement in Jimmy Kimmel’s “indefinite suspension,” according to Deadline. While there has been no word on whether this impacts her chances at the CEO position, it is hard to assume it won’t be taken into consideration in one way or another. ©Disney Disney and Iger have remained quiet on whether any of these names are confirmed to be under consideration; however, they have confirmed it is a “robust” search and that Iger will “definitely” step down as CEO. With Disney’s focus on the theme park expansions, it is easy to assume that D’Amaro is the frontrunner (and many people believe this to be the case). We love seeing celebrities enjoy Disney just like us! California Adventure Who doesn’t love a good vacation to Disneyland?! From the rides to the treats, no amount of fame can hold anyone back from letting their inner child out at the “Happiest Place on Earth”. One celebrity recently stopped by Disney California Adventure, and we have to talk about it! It’s so exciting to see a well-known celebrity enjoy the place we all know and love; it gives us something in common! We recently saw Disney Parks post a picture on X, featuring actress Tia Carrere. The post said she visited the park to celebrate “ohana, sunshine, and a little Disney magic.” ©Disney The actress was rocking this cute Stitch Hawaiian shirt, repping the popular animated Disney movie. If you don’t recognize her by face, you’d definitely recognize her by voice, as she was the original voice of Nani from Disney’s iconic animated movie, Lilo and Stitch. ©Disney That being said, you may also recognize her from the live-action Lilo and Stitch. She joined that cast as Mrs. Kekoa. ©Disney Not only is the new film now available on Disney+, but Disney also confirmed it was getting a sequel! Tia shared how special it was for her to come back for the live action movie, saying, “For me to be able to transition from being the young girl that everybody’s rooting for, to the woman that’s helping mentor the younger girl, it really dovetails with where I am in life, and it’s really fulfilling getting to become that.” ©Disney We really enjoyed the first movie, and we’re looking forward to the sequel. Despite the lack of a timeline, storyline, and other elements, we can’t help but admit we are beyond excited for it. We hope Tia gets to reprise her role in the sequel, but only time will tell. Meet Cinderella while dining on fairytale-inspired fare. While Cinderella’s Royal Table is a fun and beautiful experience, there is a better dining location we would recommend instead! Here’s why. Cinderella’s Royal Table Cinderella’s Royal Table gets a lot of hype for being a dreamy, fairytale-inspired restaurant INSIDE Cinderella Castle. Dining here gives you an inside look at the castle and the immaculate views of Magic Kingdom. You get to feel like royalty while dining with princesses. Hi, Cinderella! From the Grand Hall, where you can meet Cinderella, you’ll climb the winding staircase after your invitation has been called by the Cast Members. As you head upstairs, you’ll find beautiful stained glass windows. Detailed stained glass Finally, you’ll make it to the dining room. It’s gorgeous with grand views. We absolutely love the atmosphere at Cinderella’s Royal Table. While you’re here, you’ll be visited by several princesses, which may include Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, and Snow White. Characters are subject to change — so keep that in mind, especially when managing the expectations of children. Cinderella’s Royal Table Now let’s talk about food at Cinderella’s Royal Table. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served here as prix fixe meals. You’ll have a few options to choose from, but you’ll pay a set price for your meal. Breakfast for adults is $74 and for kids it’s $45. Lunch and dinner for adults will run you $88 and kids cost $52. Taxes and an automatic 18% gratuity are added, and unless you’re using the Disney Dining Plan, you’ll be charged for the meal as soon as you make the reservation. Menu There are appetizers, entrees, desserts, and beverages to choose from. Breakfast offers items like a bacon and egg plate, shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, and — of course — Mickey waffles for the kids. Lunch and dinner offers entrees like roasted lamb chops, filet mignon, the catch of the day, and more, including options for the kids. Main menu There are also specialty cocktails, wines, and flight options, for an additional cost. Specialty add-ons We recently dined here and grabbed the slow-braised beef for an appetizer, the filet mignon entree, the Clock Strikes Twelve dessert, the Jaq & Gus Cheesecake on our servers suggestion, and the secret, not-on-the-menu Cinderella White Chocolate Slipper. Check out our full review here! Our meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table We thoroughly enjoyed all of our food! The filet was cooked perfectly, everything had great flavor, and the desserts sent us on our way happy and content. Cinderella’s Royal Table is a lot of fun and the food is tasty, but here’s why we recommend you skip it — it’s a VERY large price tag. So while it’s a special experience, there’s somewhere else that we would suggest going instead. Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located in EPCOT at the Norway Pavilion. It’s another character dining experience that lets you dine with the princesses! In our opinion, this is a REAL best-kept secret and a better option than Cinderella’s Royal Table. Sure, you’re not dining in the castle, but that also helps keep the price of this experience a little lower. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall The meal here features all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style platters. Breakfast includes items like pastries, Norwegian waffles, and classics like eggs, bacon, and sausage. Lunch and dinner feature traditional KjØttkaker (Norwegian meatballs), Kylling og Melboller (similar to chicken and dumplings) along with mashed potatoes and gravy, grilled salmon, macaroni & cheese, and more. The food at Akershus is fantastic! Breakfast at Akershus While characters are subject to change, we often see princesses such as Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, Tiana, Aurora, and Ariel here. So you get to meet similar, if not the same, princesses here as at Cinderella’s Royal Table, enjoy all-you-can eat dining, and pay less at Akershus! Breakfast for adults at Akershus costs $59 and $38 for kids. Lunch and dinner runs $69 for adults and $46 for kids. Check out our latest review for Akershus here! Snow White at Akershus Both of these dining locations give you the opportunity to meet Disney princesses. However, Akershus is better known for the quality of its food with a slightly lower price. We have some bad news about some of our favorite Disney World shoes! We talk about the importance of good shoes while at Disney World a lot. You will be doing a lot of walking, and good shoes will help you spend more time at the parks. HOKA Rincon 4 Womens Shoes While there is no perfect pair of shoes for every person, we are huge fans of Hoka shoes here at DFB. Many of our team members wear them at Disney World, so we highly recommend them, and they are one of our favorite shoes. They are super comfortable and perfect for walking miles at Disney World. However, we have some bad news about Hoka shoes! According to The Street, the price for Hoka shoes will be increasing. Deckers shoes, including Hoka, are primarily made in China and Vietnam, and due to the increase in tariffs, the price for Hoka shoes will increase. With a 30% tariff for Chinese imports and a 20% tariff for Vietnamese imports, Deckers will be hit hard — almost $200 million this year alone. Hokas Deckers, the company that produces Hoka shoes, has already warned that it plans to offset these costs by raising prices for customers. Deckers has already started raising prices back in July, but more price increases are still coming. Deckers isn’t alone in price increase though, as other sneaker companies are also having to raise prices to offset the increase in cost. Companies like Nike have also announced price increases. HOKA Rincon 4 Womens Shoes Due to the tariffs, Deckers is expecting to see its gross margin dip from 54% to 53.5%, and the company plans to offset that with “selective and staggered price increased in the U.S..” Price increases of around $5 on certain products have already happened, and additional price increases are coming. If you are trying to save some money, it may be best to buy shoes for Disney World sooner rather than later, before even more prices increases happen. Hoka Women’s Clifton 10 Sneakers There are also lots of brands of shoes that you can compare to make sure you are getting the best deal for comfortable shoes. You don’t want to be uncomfortable in your shoes, but you also don’t want to spend way too much money. Test out a variety of brands and choose the one that works best for you. Alright, I’m gonna level with ya…some Lightning Lanes are better than others. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Lightning Lane sign Magic Kingdom is the most visited theme park in the world — and for good reason! Home to several top-notch rides and excellent vibes, this park is always in demand and can garner some pretty long wait times. That’s where Lightning Lanes — Disney’s paid skip-the-line service — helps! Using Lightning Lanes can require special tactics and some extra cash. If you’re looking to utilize Lightning Lanes to their max potential (which everyone should be doing), we’ve got a few tips to help ya make the most out of your experience at Magic Kingdom. There are a lot of moving parts here if you’re a Disney World newbie, so I’m going to try to break it down as easily as possible…starting with defining Lightning Lanes. Pirates of the Caribbean Lightning Lane Gone are the days of FastPass. Now, you can skip busy standby lines by purchasing Lightning Lane access. Essentially, you’re looking at an OPTIONAL ticket add-on that lets you bypass hours of waiting. There are three tiers of passes: Lightning Lane Single Pass (gives you access to the most popular rides in the park, and only those rides), Lightning Lane Multi Pass (gives you access to every other ride that offers Lightning Lanes), and Lightning Lane Premier Pass (gives you access to every ride with a Lightning Lane in a single park). I’ve simplified the purpose of each pass for the sake of time, but you can learn more about each pass with in-depth info thanks to our guide below! Everything You Need to Know About Lightning Lanes in Disney World So let’s talk about “junk” Lightning Lanes and why they’re good AND bad. Lightning Lane for Laugh Floor When guests try book Lightning Lanes with Multi Pass, they often opt for the most popular attractions first…at least the ones actually covered by Multi Pass. However, a practice has popped up where some guests will instead grab “junk” Lightning Lanes — also known as the less popular rides with low waits BOTH in the Lightning Lane AND standby lines — as early in the day as possible in order to “stack” reservations. Lightning Lane Lightning Lane Multi-Pass allows guests to make three Lightning Lane selections in a specific theme park up to 7 days in advance for Disney hotel guests (three days in advance for everyone else). These selections can include one Tier 1 attraction and two Tier 2 attractions, or three Tier 2 attractions. After checking in to your first selection, you can use the My Disney Experience app to make additional selections. So if you book a quick Lightning Lane early in the day, you can quickly start stacking reservations without needing to wait long periods of time to book your next ride. Lightning Lane at “it’s a small world” This system isn’t for everyone, especially those who don’t want to finagle with their phone all day. Fortunately, there are some other options for those who still want access to Lightning Lanes. The first is to buy a Lightning Lane Single Pass. At Magic Kingdom, you can buy a Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and/or TRON Lightcycle / Run. These are two of the biggest — if not THE most in-demand — rides at Magic Kingdom, and neither are available with Multi Pass. If either of these rides are on your “must-do” lists, you can simply just opt for a Single Pass instead of Multi Pass and save some cash. Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs can range from about $11 to $20 per person, while TRON can range from about $19 to $25. For perspective, Multi Pass at Magic Kingdom is about $25 to $39 per person per day. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train If the goal is to save time instead of money, a Lightning Lane Premier Pass gets you the best chance at riding EVERYTHING in a single day. Keep in mind, these cost several hundred dollars — we’re talking up to around $450 at its most expensive — per person, depending on the day. All Lightning Lane types feature dynamic pricing, so you could potentially be paying in the $300 range if you go at the right time. You’ll have to look at dates that avoid peak attendance (usually smack-dab in the middle of the school year when no breaks are happening), and ideally mid-week. If you’re looking at making the most out of your Lightning Lane experience, this is the way to go…but it’s also far from the cheapest option. Lightning Lane How you go about your Lightning Lane experience is fully up to you! Maybe you really care about getting on a few rides — in which case “junk” Lightning Lanes don’t hold much wait. Maybe you want to AVOID the mistake of booking these “junk” lines that don’t even require a booking since the standby will be short anyway. Either way, it’s never a bad idea to check out our constant wait time reporting and Lightning Lane prices before your trip! “The Simpsons 2” is officially in the works at Disney’s 20th Century Studios, according to Variety. ©20th Century Studios The sequel is slated to release in theaters on July 23rd, 2027, and it has taken the place of an untitled Marvel project. Since the new Simpsons movie has taken the place of the unnamed Marvel project, there will no longer be a new installment between “Avengers: Doomsday” on Dec. 18, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” on Dec. 17, 2027. ©Disney No official plot details have been confirmed for the sequel yet, but a poster was shared on Instagram featuring one of Homer’s favorite pink doughnuts along with the phrase, “Homer’s coming back for seconds.” “The Simpsons” was created by Matt Groening and is the longest-running animated series and sitcom on television. ©Disney The first feature film, “The Simpsons Movie,” was released in July 2007 and was hugely successful, earning $536 million at the global box office with a $75 million budget. Showrunner Matt Selman says that streaming has helped the series stay relevant, along with gaining new fans. The Simpsons Ride “Now instead of the kids watching it on local TV in the afternoon, they can just watch it all, all the time, all day, all forever,” Selman said. “Being on Disney+ has been somewhat rejuvenating for us. We love a drink flight, and we’ve tried almost all of them across Disney World. From wine and beer flights to DOLE Whip, we are always down for a sampler with multiple options to try and review. Flight The Coca-Cola Store Rooftop Bar in Disney Springs dropped a new flight that we knew we had to have. If you haven’t visited the top of the Coca-Cola Store, there’s an incredible bar with tons of different options and a beautiful view of Disney Springs, and we’re taking you along with us to try this new treat. The Mocktail Flight, priced at $16, offers a selection of drinks for you to choose from. We selected the Dragonfruit Cherry Lemonade, Brownie Masher, and Sea Splash Punch. Let’s try it! The Dragonfruit Cherry Lemonade is made with MinuteMaid Lemonade, dragonfruit syrup, tart cherry syrup, dragonfruit inclusions, and black cherry. Dragonfruit Cherry Lemonade If you’re a huge dragonfruit fan, you’re going to love this! The dragonfruit is right on the nose and even has dried pieces of dragonfruit in it, reminding us of a lemonade from Starbucks. The drink is very tart, but you can taste the lemonade, and there’s the artificial tart flavor from the black cherry. When you get a piece of black cherry, it’s juicy on the inside and makes for a fun addition. This was our favorite drink of the mix and something we would love to order again. Dragonfruit Cherry Lemonade The second drink, Brownie Masher, is made with Fairlife Chocolate Milk, ice cream, brownies, and whipped cream. Brownie Masher This is similar to a milkshake, but the texture might not be quite what you’re expecting. If you’re going to order this, be prepared to drink it quickly, as the chocolate milk separates from the ice cream, making the whole drink feel a bit soggy. That being said, the drink is sweet, and it was a unique experience to try, reminding us of putting a piece of cake in chocolate milk. Brownie Masher The last drink was the Sea Splash Punch with Fanta Blue Raspberry, Minute Maid Lemonade, and fish gummies. Sea Splash Punch Remember adding lemon to your sodas in the 1990s and early 2000s? That tart aftertaste in the soda with a lemon wedge on top? Coca-Cola was able to replicate that taste right into this drink. Despite being lemonade, we couldn’t taste the lemonade as much, but the Fanta Blue Raspberry shone through. It was a little less carbonated than you might expect from a soda, and we also loved the gummy fish, which were like Cherry Swedish Fish. Sea Splash Punch Overall, we had a great time trying this flight, but we think it might be on the pricier side when compared to many of the other options, which are often lemonade-based. We do think this flight can be great for a fun date night or for kids, where everyone can pick their own drink.
