The largest Marriott hotel in the WORLD is hosting something special this holiday season, and you’re going to want to check this out. Orlando World Center Marriott Hotel Orlando World Center Marriott is the largest Marriott hotel in the world, with over 2,000 guest rooms and suites. It boasts a water park (with seven water slides and a lazy river), another pool area, a spa, eight restaurants, an 18-hole golf course, and more. But this holiday season, there will be even more to explore here! Orlando World Center Marriott is celebrating the holidays in grand style with its larger-than-ever 12 Days of Holiday Fun, taking place December 20th–31st. From the moment guests arrive, they’ll be greeted with carolers, dazzling décor, and an impressive oversized gingerbread house made from more than 5,000 handmade gingerbread bricks. The lobby transforms into a winter wonderland, immersing visitors in holiday cheer before they even step outside to explore the festive lineup of activities. ©Orlando World Center Marriott A highlight of this year’s celebration is the all-new Holiday Village, where families can enjoy horse-drawn carriage and train rides, interactive booths, arts and crafts, seasonal character meet-and-greets, and indulgent holiday treats and drinks. The village offers something for everyone, whether you’re sipping on a festive beverage, taking photos with holiday favorites, or enjoying hands-on activities that spark creativity. It’s designed to bring guests together to make memories that last long after the holiday season ends. ©Orlando World Center Marriott The evenings shine even brighter thanks to spectacular entertainment. Guests can look to the skies during the drone shows, where hundreds of drones create dazzling holiday-themed images above the resort. And on December 29 and New Year’s Eve, a fireworks extravaganza will light up the night, allowing guests to watch the celebration unfold from poolside lounge chairs or the comfort of their room balconies. Combined with holiday-themed poolside discos, trivia nights, dive-in movies at Falls Pool, and daily activities, the atmosphere is both lively and magical. ©Orlando World Center Marriott Families looking for extra festive touches can also book in-room experiences. From December 21st–24th, the resort offers stocking and décor deliveries, which include filled stockings, a Christmas tree, and sparkling ornaments waiting in your guestroom. Guests can also enjoy special buffet meals at Latitude & Longitude, with Christmas Day brunch and New Year’s Eve dinner menus that showcase seasonal flavors in a family-friendly atmosphere. ©Orlando World Center Marriott For those booking the 12 Days of Holiday Fun package, available December 24th–31st, perks include a $50 per night resort credit (with a two-night minimum stay), sweet treats, holiday mocktails, and complimentary train rides through the Holiday Village. Disney’s Pop Century Resort is one of those places that feels like stepping into a time machine, except with Mickey-shaped waffles waiting at the end. Pop Century This resort is known for its larger-than-life icons (we see you, giant Mr. Potato Head!) and playful nods to pop culture from the 1950s through the 1990s. This value resort has become a fan favorite for families and Disney adults alike. Bright, bold, and brimming with nostalgia, Pop Century is a popular value resort, but now things are changing that you might not be ready for. A few months ago, we reported that Pop Century’s lobby would be getting a huge renovation, and well, that renovation is underway. We noticed that pretty much everything in the lobby is under construction. So if you’re visiting the hotel soon, you might notice something new. Construction walls This area is going to look more like the new wall mural you can already see as part of the “retro-inspired refresh” Disney is giving the hotel lobby. The lobby is getting a much-needed remodel, and Disney is promising a brighter, more modern welcome for guests. The refurb will feature updated seating, refreshed colors, and a sleeker check-in experience. Pop Century Resort — Lobby Refurbishment in Progress But we’ve got some bad news. The shadow boxes with all the vintage items are now gone. We confirmed with a Cast Member that these have been removed indefinitely. These were honestly so fun to look at, and I grew up looking at each one every time my family stayed here — as you probably did too! The resort’s beloved shadow boxes were quirky displays that gave each section its own personality. Shadow Boxes The hotel’s guest rooms will begin remodeling in late March 2025. The refurbishments will continue through mid-February 2026. Of course, even if you stay at one of the resorts undergoing guest room refurbishments, there is no guarantee that you will be put in a new room. Planning to spend the holidays in Disney World this year? We totally get it, and so many people have the same idea, which is what makes it one of the most popular times of year to visit. Magic Kingdom during the holidays If you’re an Annual Passholder or someone else without a date-based ticket that requires a park pass to get into the parks on most days (other than Good To Go dates for APs), we recommend making those park passes well in advance. That’s for a number of reasons, but mostly because those spots can fill up FAST! Now, we have proof of that, because while it may only be October, park passes are already beginning to sell out for Christmas Day. When checking the Disney World park pass availability calendar, park passes are sold out for regular theme park tickets for Christmas Day! This means that there are now two days Magic Kingdom is no longer available for theme park ticket park passes, because, as we previously reported, New Year’s Eve is also unavailable. ©Disney Additionally, those staying at Select Resort Hotels are also blocked from Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, but when it comes to Annual Passholder availability, things get interesting. Those with a Disney World Inredi-Pass still have full availability to book for all of December, but all three other passes are blocked out for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. ©Disney Now, don’t feel like all hope is lost just yet if you don’t have a park pass reservation yet! We suggest booking your tickets still and getting a park pass reservation for another park. You’ll need to tap into that park first during the day, but then you can park hop to Magic Kingdom. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that you may have to wait outside the entrance gate and be held there until a certain number of guests exit the park, as Disney does still have to keep capacity in mind. It’s also possible that park pass availability will change, so keep checking back! Christmas decor in the Magic Kingdom 2024 Looking for more recent Disney holiday news? Check out our posts below! Look, any morning that starts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a good one. But what if I were to tell you that there’s a way to make it even better? Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Did you know that there is an absolute hidden gem of a Quick Service breakfast experience at Sanaa in Animal Kingdom Lodge? True, Sanaa is best known as a Table Service restaurant for lunch and dinner (both of which boast the famous Sanaa Bread Service). But I hope you’ll join me now to hear more about the truly unique, completely underrated, and seriously overlooked Kuamsha Breakfast at Sanaa! Atmosphere The first thing you need to know about Sanaa is where to find it! While The Mara, Animal Kingdom Lodge’s primary Quick Service restaurant, is located in Jambo House, Sanaa is tucked into Kidani Village, the Disney Vacation Club property at Animal Kingdom Lodge. (Don’t worry; you don’t need to be a DVC member to dine here.) Kidani Village Entrance Because the service style for breakfast at Sanaa is different than that for lunch and dinner, the ordering process starts differently, too. Kuamsha Breakfast at Sanaa Rather than being greeted at the host stand, you’ll walk right into the restaurant and see a sign directing you to place your order inside the lovely Sanaa Lounge. Enter the Sanaa Lounge to Order This is also where you’ll find the coffee bar, along with condiments and utensils to bring to your table. Coffee, Condiments, and Utensils Bar in Sanaa Lounge Once you’ve placed your order, you’ll receive a placard to place on your chosen table so a Cast Member can find you when your order is ready. Placard for your table And here is the fun part… Because it’s Quick Service, YOU decide where you’d like to sit in the main restaurant! Sanaa Seating So if you want (nearly) guaranteed seating at one of the coveted window tables offering floor-to-ceiling views of the Savanna, breakfast here is your best chance to get it! Window Seating! Although, I must admit, it was pretty darn quiet on the Savanna during my recent visit… Quiet Morning on the Savanna (Wake up, fellas! Don’t you know you’re in DISNEY WORLD?! Clearly no one’s told these guys where the coffee is….) Anyhoo, even if the window tables aren’t what you’re after, you can just about have your choice of any of the seating areas in this truly lovely restaurant. (Sanaa means “art” in Swahili, after all.) The View from My Table Stunning Table Service atmosphere for Quick Service prices? I’m telling you, Sanaa is where it’s at. But the vibes aren’t the only way breakfast at Sanaa is elevated… Eats You can grab a menu to look over your options right before you enter the ordering area in the lounge. Find Menus at the Entrance Entrees include — but aren’t limited to — the classic Disney Bounty Platter, Banana Bread French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Avocado Toast, and the Sanaa Breakfast Sandwich. Kuamsha Breakfast Entrees The Kids’ Selections include the Explorer Platter, French Toast, and of course, Mickey Waffles! Sides including a few pastries are also up for grabs. Additional Breakfast Offerings You can even partake in a specialty coffee or a “Sunrise Spirit.” Aaaah…. Drinks at Sanaa Breakfast Since I’d already had a sweet coffee (hellooooo, Pumpkin Spice Season!), I ended up going with the savory Short Rib Hash. Short Rib Hash The Braised Short Rib is plated in a skillet atop Spice Route Home Fries with roasted peppers and onions and a few dollops of an avocado crema. Short Rib Hash I hope this picture helps to give an idea of just how beautifully tender the braised short rib is. Short Rib Hash The Spice Route Home Fries are lightly seasoned, but by no means spicy in terms of heat. In fact, between that and the rather sparse onions and peppers, the savory meat was really the star of the show, as it should be. Accompanying Sauce I didn’t really need much of the tangy dipping sauce that accompanied the skillet since the dish itself was packed with flavor, but it did lend a subtle hint of sweetness to the savory dish. All in all, it was a lovely meal to start the day (not to mention protein-packed to keep fueled up for a good while). That said, I WILL be back to try that Banana Bread French Toast one of these days… Overall Between the beautiful, peaceful setting and dishes the likes of which you won’t find in many Quick Service locations around Disney World, the Kuamsha Breakfast at Sanaa comes together as a wonderful — and even decadent — experience at an affordable price. Admittedly, it does take some planning to make this work, since Kidani Village sits even beyond Animal Kingdom Lodge’s main Jambo House (not to mention that Animal Kingdom Lodge is far away from just about everywhere on Disney World property, save for Animal Kingdom park, of course). But if you are a guest at Animal Kingdom Lodge, or simply a fan of Sanaa — like us! — who would like to try all of its various offerings, I believe it’s a trek that is worth it. Nosh or Not Trek on over to Sanaa for Breakfast if… You want to enjoy a meal featuring unique dishes in Disney World (but still want access to Mickey Waffles!); You are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and have a leisurely morning planned, or want to miss some of the early morning crowds at The Mara in Jambo House; You have always wanted to sit at a window seat in Sanaa! Skip Sanaa Breakfast if… You’ve got a park touring itinerary that you really want to stick to, since it can take some serious time to get to Sanaa; Honestly? That’s the main and only reason to miss it, IMHO! P.S. Want to know where Animal Kingdom Lodge ranks on our list of EVERY Disney World Resort hotel? Check out our DFB YouTube video! There are many things we’ve seen for the FIRST time over in Epic Universe, and for the most part, we can’t get enough! Dark Universe in Epic Universe The immersion in these lands, especially ones like Isle of Berk and Dark Universe, is unlike anything we’ve seen in Universal parks before, and those rides? The way Stardust Racers twists and turns around each other, the seamless transition between screens and practical effects in Monsters Unchained and Battle at the Ministry, the list goes on and on. HOWEVER, there’s something really interesting you need to know about the lockers at these attractions, because believe it or not, it could totally throw you off. Disney World is totally embracing the Halloween season in so many ways. We love Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and all the special Halloween-time snacks, but there’s something else to look out for, too! We were big fans! Over in Disney Springs, one restaurant is taking Halloween to the next level with a scavenger hunt. But this isn’t just any scavenger hunt — it’s specially themed, and if you find what’s hidden, you get to keep it! If you head to Frontera Cocina in Disney Springs this Halloween season, there’s a special scavenger hunt taking place that only patrons of the restaurant can take part in. They’ve hidden tiny skulls around the restaurant. If you find one, not only do you get to take it home with you, but your whole table gets 10% off their meal! @fronteracocina on Instagram But that’s not all — you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for the special golden skull, you’ll unlock the ultimate special treat, a BOGO on their seasonal cocktail, The Gravedigger. @fronteracocina on Instagram You may find the skulls hidden near the tables and booths, while others may be tucked inside certain decorations on the wall and around the restaurant. You’ll want to pull out your eagle eyes, because they’re pretty tiny and hard to spot. @fronteracocina on Instagram On our latest visit this summer, we tried out several incredible items, including the Chorizo & Avocado Tlayuda, which is a 14-inch gigantic corn masa tostada imported from Oaxaca, Poblano rajas, cotija cheese, chihuahua cheese, avocado-tomatillo salsa, brushed with black beans. Chorizo & Avocado Tlayuda We also snagged the Carnitas Tacos, which is Gunthorp Farms’ slow-cooked pork shoulder with garlic and lime, black bean refritos with fresco cheese, guacamole, pickled red onions, and salsa verde for $28. Don’t these look incredible? Consider us in love Grab these and so many other menu items while you search for the skulls! Read our full review here! Looking for more recent Disney Springs news? I love the France Pavilion in EPCOT as much as anyone else, but sometimes, people can make it a little…unpleasant. Chefs de France France is arguably the most popular pavilion in the World Showcase with some of the best food, a very busy ride, and just some lovely vibes overall. But it can get crowded and a little bit hectic throughout the day, especially due to some “hacks” that fans have learned over the years. And I’m here to say…some of these are getting out of control! Rope Dropping Through International Gateway The first “hack” that has really taken off in recent years is rope dropping through EPCOT’s back entrance at International Gateway. This entrance is located right next to the France Pavilion, and thus, it makes the pavilion VERY popular first thing in the morning. EPCOT International Gateway It used to be that you had to be coming from an EPCOT area resort to use the International Gateway entrance, but with the addition of the Skyliner station, Disney has added Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera Resort guests to that list. 4 Shortcuts That’ll Save You More Than 15 Minutes in EPCOT! Rope Dropping Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Going hand-in-hand with the first hack, we have to mention the people who now rope drop Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This dark ride opened in 2021, and it has been fairly popular since, with wait times often getting above an hour on busy days. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure But here’s the problem — people know that it can get a long line, so they all rush there first thing in the morning. Then, the wait time spikes immensely for the first few hours of the day. Honestly, sometimes you’d be better off waiting until the afternoon for this one. The Most Popular Ride in EPCOT You Should Skip — Click Here! Eating at Les Halles Okay, this might sound wild coming from the people who are probably the #1 fans of Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, but have you SEEN the line for that place recently?! We absolutely adore this quaint bakery because of its delicious and affordable eats, but it might not be worth it if you have to wait an absurdly long time in line to order. Les Halles lines And even after you get in line and get your food, you’re not guaranteed a table at which to eat your items. We’ve definitely spent several minutes in the past wandering circles around the tables waiting for one to open up…and most of them don’t have chairs. Read Our Les Halles Review Here! Watching Fireworks From the Bridge One feature of the France Pavilion that really stands out is the bridge that connects the pavilion to the International Gateway. It’s a great spot for family photos, but also a very popular spot for watching nighttime fireworks at EPCOT. Don’t get us wrong, the views are pretty good, but the crowds are getting out of hand. France Pavilion Bridge People line up to watch the fireworks here WELL in advance, and the crowds can get several people deep. Part of the appeal is that you’re very close to the International Gateway exit so that you can be first in line to the Skyliner once the show ends. But hear us out — if you watch from the other side of the World Showcase, you can have a leisurely walk to the park exit, complete with empty pavilions! Luminous in EPCOT France is one of the BEST pavilions in EPCOT, so we totally get the hype for spending as much time as possible here! Hopefully, your next visit will be lovely. We love Disneyland restaurants as much as the next person, especially some of the ones at the resort’s hotels, but we’d be lying if we told you we don’t also love a good lounge moment. Benevolent Faerie at Broken Spell Lounge Unlike table service restaurants, Disneyland lounges don’t require advance reservations, which can make them easier to get access to and slightly less stressful since you don’t have to worry about snagging a reservation up to two months before your trip even begins. One of our favorite lounges is Broken Spell Lounge at Disneyland Hotel, and while it officially opened in October 2024, we’ve got exciting news — the lounge’s official sign is FINALLY up! Yes, that means that while this lounge has been fully open for just about a year, the official sign was not in place. Instead, we saw some temporary signs in place, and we were honestly starting to get worried if the lounge would ever REALLY become official. Because here’s the thing — this space has been a LOT of different lounges in the past few years, so part of us was worried it would close and become something else less than a year after opening. Broken Spell Lounge However, based on a post made by @brokenspelllounge on Instagram, they’re REALLY official now, because their permanent sign has now been installed, and we’re OBSESSED with it! It hangs from the ceiling and really matches the magical vibe of the spot, since it’s themed after Sleeping Beauty. @brokenspelllounge on Instagram Broken Spell Lounge is usually open from 4 PM to close, which is usually around 10 PM. You can also experience live music daily at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM, and 8 PM. The menu here includes options like dry-rub chicken wings, a classic Caesar salad, and savory steak frites, and you’ll find lots of specialty cocktails, wine, beers, and more. You’ll also want to check out the seasonal offerings here — right now, there’s a pretty epic menu in place for Halloween you don’t want to miss! When you gotta go, you gotta go! Southwest Cabin With that said, not every moment is optimal to use a bathroom — especially on an airplane. Knowing when and when not to use your cabin’s lavatory is tricky, so we turned to our well-traveled DFB team to figure out the BEST and WORST times to use a restroom on a plane! Let’s start out with the bad times, since our team had TONS of opinions on this topic. © Kevork Djansezian/Getty | Obtained via Business Insider The most agreed-upon point to NOT visit the lavatory is during meal or beverage service. You’ll just end up in the flight attendants’ way, and you’ll have to deal with a potentially blocked aisle. ©Breeze Airways If you’re on a long flight, try to go before a meal service or well after. We’ve noticed that on international flights, passengers will often use the bathroom about 30 minutes after a meal, and those lines can get pretty long. ©Delta And you DEFINITELY DO NOT want to go to the lavatory while the plane is taxiing! We had an experience on a flight where someone got up to use it while taxiing, and the pilot legit stopped the plane and waited for them to sit down. That’s a big no-no. Ready to fly? So WHEN should you get up to go to the bathroom? Mostly during lulls when the “fasten seatbelt” sign is off and flight attendant activity is low. We’ve personally had a lot of success going to the restroom right before the sign turns back on in anticipation of landing. Let’s fly! That way, in case the plane needs to circle around, you’ve done your business and you don’t have to wait until your feet are on the ground at the airport. Frontier Airlines Ultimately, like we said initially, you gotta go when you gotta go. If you just can’t hold it and you’re allowed to walk about the cabin, then there really isn’t a wrong time. However, if you can afford to time your bathroom visit, we definitely recommend picking a quiet time when the cabin isn’t active with working flight attendants or a little bit before landing. Most airlines have ways for you to track your flight via apps and monitors on the plane, so checking the ETA definitely helps if you’re planning on timing your “trip” before the arrival. Disney is a busy company right now! Halloween decorations in Disney World! The company is searching for its next CEO, it’s expanding the cruise line fleet, and the parks are changing in so many ways! There’s a lot to keep up with, but there’s no worries if you miss a news drop or two! Each week, we put together a list of the biggest news from the week, and we’re breaking down this week’s biggest announcements right here. There are tons of fun Disney changes happening from the upcoming new show in Animal Kingdom to Lightning McQueen taking over Magic Kingdom. This week, our news takes us from Disney World all the way to the open waters! New Characters On The Disney Destiny Starting off on the high seas, the Disney Destiny is adding some new faces to the fun! One of the new entertainment options coming to the ship will be the traveling storytellers, who Disney says you can find in the Grand Hall. ©Disney The new storytellers are named Zayah and Gamble, and they have enchanted trunks that “react to the powerful energy and magic of classic Disney villains.” Zayah is a fortune teller who will make predictions and share tales with the help of a magical book, while Gamble will “conjure adventures with his collection of mystifying potions and elixirs.” ©Disney Throughout each sailing, the storytellers will host a variety of shows and storytelling experiences, including With Great Power: A Marvel Comedy Show. This show will be located in the Saga entertainment lounge and will be aimed towards adults, acting out some of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most iconic moments with sketch comedy, low-budget props, homemade sound effects, and sight gags. (We’re already obsessed.) ©Disney This entire ship is themed to Disney heroes and villains, and we think these two will fit right in! Disney Cruise Line — The Disney Destiny Cruise Ship Spaceship Earth Reopening Our next news takes us back on land over in EPCOT! The park’s icon, Spaceship Earth, has been closed since August 25th, 2025, but we finally know when we can hear Judi Dench’s sweet monologue again. Spaceship Earth Starting on October 25th, 2025, the slow-moving dark ride is reopening! This closure was temporary, and (as far as we know) just a typical maintenance closure. Once upon a time, Disney promised BIG updates for Spaceship Earth. Back in 2019, the company revealed plans to change the ride inside the big ball, including new narration, new scenes, and more. Anyone who’s been on Spaceship Earth recently pretty much knows that the ride is, more or less, pretty outdated, after all. (Not a bad thing, we love her! But it is true.) Our favorite scientist! This project was shelved, never to be mentioned again… at least for now. Honestly, with all of the changes happening in the parks right now, we don’t think we could handle another major change just yet, so we’re happy this one was just some maintenance. Why We’re Worried About Spaceship Earth in Disney World New Character Meet and Greets Finally, Hollywood Studios is wrapping up our big changes for the week because we got not one, not two, but FOUR new character meet and greets this week! Hi Mary Poppins! Right now, you can meet Pinocchio, who was hanging out by Center Stage in front of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. It’s Pinocchio! Rotating with our favorite puppet is Jiminy Cricket! Jiminy Cricket On the other side of the stage, you can meet Mary Poppins throughout the day before she rotates with Bert and a dancing penguin! According to the app, Bert is the only one scheduled to meet in this area, but Mr. Penguin was an extra surprise during our stop by. Bert and Mr. Penguin You can find all of these character meet and greets in the My Disney Experience app to see when the characters will be meeting. Nearby, you can also find Chip and Dale. Chip and Dale are just a few steps away closer to The Hollywood Brown Derby and near the light tower. These are just a few additions after the closing of Animation Courtyard, which is being reimaged into The Walt Disney Studios. ©Disney The new area is expected to open in 2026! The Walt Disney Studios in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios There is SO much happening around the Disney Company throughout the world, and this is just scratching the surface. We’re big fans of trying all the latest and greatest new snacks and desserts around Disney World — especially in Disney Springs! Who’s ready for a new cannoli? When we heard there was a new sweet treat over at Vivoli il Gelato, we were super excited to try it. However, we’ve got to admit that, unfortunately, this was shocking, and here’s why. Now, Vivoli il Gelato is one of our favorite dessert spots in Disney Springs, especially if you’re looking for a menu that has lots of different items to appease everyone in your group. Back in August, we tried a delicious Tres Leches Tiramisu that we could not get enough of, and their Pumpkin Spice Affogato is a perfect fall treat if you’re a fan of pumpkin pie flavors. Tres Leches Tiramisu With that being said, we were looking forward to trying the Froot Loops Cannoli, which is now available for $8.25. However, we’re devastated to admit to you that this really was NOT it for us. The shell was very dry, but not crispy or flaky at all, like a cannoli shell is supposed to be, very flour-forward, and was pretty hard to break. Fruit Loops Cannoli The highlight here was definitely the filling, as it had that slight ricotta flavor that you associate with cannoli, and it was slightly chilled. It was smooth, creamy, and hit the spot for sure, and we thought that maybe our experience could be turned around. However, then our hearts were crushed again when we realized the fruit loops on here were so stale. They were soft, didn’t have any crunch, and so much of the flavor was gone, it was just “sweet” (and while this is certainly a sweet cereal, we enjoy the other fruity flavors you get from them normally!). The cereal was unfortunately very stale Personally, we don’t think this is worth grabbing, even though the size certainly would make it easy to share. We were hoping we’d be able to recommend it for kiddos at least, since we know that often Fruit Loops are a big hit with them, but sadly, we think they’ll be disappointed by it too. We wanted to love it! Now, it’s entirely possible we just got a bad batch, and this treat may even itself out in the future! We’ll be crossing our fingers — we’d love for that to happen! And we definitely still recommend stopping by for the gelato, affogato, or other tasty treats here. More Recent Dining Reviews! Ever since Animal Kingdom‘s opening in 1998, the Tree of Life has been one of the most stunning and breathtaking parts of the whole park. Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s the park’s icon for a reason! The Tree of Life is a faux baobab tree built around an oil rig that has over 300 animals hand-carved into it (everything from an ant to a chimpanzee, and so many more), and it’s over 145 feet high. It’s incredible in so many ways, and while we love walking around its pathways as much as the next person and exploring what it has to offer, since It’s Tough to Be A Bug closed, this area has been pretty barren. We’re thrilled that there are MORE additions coming to this area of the park later this year, but you’ll want to know EVERYTHING on its way to really appreciate it! Back on August 21st, Disney announced that the official opening date of the new Tree of Life show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! would be November 7th, 2025. We’re impressed — with how late in the year It’s Tough to Be A Bug closed in the park, we were half expecting the opening date of this new attraction to be pushed back to 2026. But we’ll get to experience it this year! “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” ©Disney Disney says that Zootopia: Better Zoogether! will be “a celebration of unity amongst the diverse biomes across the city, and will be recognized with special performances such as ice-skating spectaculars from the heart of Tundratown! Synchronized swimming direct from Marsh Market! Tiny mouse drone shows soaring over Little Rodentia! And of course, a musical finale by superstar Gazelle – all of which we’ll see from the livestream watch party.” ©Disney When you arrive at the theater, you’ll find that you’re just in time see see the Zoogether Day festivities on the mainstage. The show is hosted by familiar furry faces as well as new friends, like Heidi Howler – a slick-talking wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. Zoogether Day ©Disney We’re excited we’ll be able to hear some of the most iconic voices from the film franchise, including Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy Hopps) and Jason Bateman (Nick Wilde), as well as supervision from the creatives behind the scenes, including Jared Bush (assisted with writing the script) and Byron Howard (who directed the animation of the film). The new show will also be opening just in time for Zootopia 2, which will premiere in theaters on November 26th. If you want to be one of the first to experience this new attraction, you’ll want to keep an eye out for more information later this fall about special previews for cast members, Annual Passholders and DVC Members. ©Disney But that isn’t the ONLY new addition coming to Animal Kingdom for fans of Zootopia! Disney has revealed that Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will also be greeting guests at Discovery Island near the Tree of Life at the Zoogether Day Gathering Spot. At this time, we don’t know exactly where this new spot will be, but it sounds like it’ll be pretty set in stone, so these characters won’t likely be moving around. We can’t wait to be able to meet these new characters in the park, but we have a feeling it’ll be REALLY popular, so you’ll want to be patient! ©Disney It’s important to note too that like It’s Tough to Be A Bug, this new show will also be in 4D, so while Disney has confirmed that nothing will be poking us in the back or butt during this new show (thank GOODNESS), but you will still need to wear 3D glasses to get the fill effect of the show — it’ll be called Carrot Vision! ©Disney Planning your vacation soon and need some guidance? We’re still thrilled we got a sequel to one of our favorite 2000s Disney films, Freaky Friday, especially since it came 22 years after the original film’s release! ©Disney The film starred Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis playing daughter and mother, who switch bodies after receiving cryptic fortunes at a Chinese restaurant. As they parade around having to pretend to be each other until they find a solution, they develop a new respect and understanding for one another. It was a classic, grossing $22 million just at opening with a $20 million budget, but since 2003, it’s grown exponentially, grossing a total of nearly $162 million present day. People rushed to the theaters to watch the sequel, Freakier Friday, and now we know when it’s coming to digital! According to People, Freakier Friday will release on digital to rent or own starting October 7th, then on Blu-Ray and DVD on November 11th. Bonus features will also be available, which will include “deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes and a “Baby” lyric music video.” ©Disney Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis returned to reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman, who are now at different stages of life. Anna is a mother to her daughter Harper (played by Julia Butters), and will soon become a stepmother to Lily (played by Sophia Hammons) as her wedding to Eric (played by Manny Jacinto) looms closer and closer. The classic body swapping ensues, causing hilarious chaos and great life lessons. ©Disney When chatting about maintaining their friendship for the two decades between the films, Curtis said that she can trust Lohan, continuing to say, “I do know that if I tell her something, it’s gonna stay with her. We’ve both been through hard things, ’cause we’re alive and life is hard. And we’re not dead yet. So the truth of our experience together, it belies all of the kind of showbizzy stuff. We connected, and we really stayed connected. And that is special and rare for me.” ©Disney Lohan shared the sentiment, saying that safety is very important to her, and that, “I have to feel safe around people. And Jamie is one of those people for me. Like, I feel very safe with you. I feel safe telling you things. So it’s— I know you said trust, but for me it’s ‘safe.'” When Freakier Friday debuted in theaters on August 8th, it earned over $150 million at the global box office against a $42 million budget. A man is dead after riding one of Orlando’s newest and fastest roller coasters, and now his family is asking: How many safeguards stand between thrill and tragedy at Florida’s theme parks? Florida allows Universal Orlando and other major attractions to operate rides with minimal state oversight. It’s a system the family’s attorneys and some industry critics say leaves too much for the companies to police themselves and puts others at risk. Universal Orlando scheduled the Stardust Racers roller coaster reopening for Saturday, less than three weeks after 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala was found unresponsive on it and died. That decision, apparently made by park management itself, overrode the family’s wishes that it remain closed until all investigations are completed. “Stardust Racers is evidence in an active death investigation,” family attorney Ben Crump said in a statement late Friday. “Reopening the ride before our experts can examine every component is unadulterated spoliation of evidence, a grave risk to public safety, and puts profit over people’s lives.” The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is also still probing the death, but a spokesperson said it’s not the agency’s role to decide when the coaster should reopen. Universal company officials said their review found the ride functioned properly, and employees followed procedures correctly. State officials observed and reviewed testing, and the ride’s manufacturer and a third-party roller coaster engineering expert validated the findings, according to a company memo. But critics say the company drove that process, as is typical in Florida’s regulatory scheme. “It’s the fox guarding the henhouse. That’s the best way to describe it,” said Ken Martin, a Virginia-based ride safety analyst. Other industry experts, though, argue Florida’s regulations are adequate, and large theme parks with top-notch safety teams are better positioned than the state to inspect and monitor rides. “It’s very bad business to hurt or kill your customers,” said Scott Smith, an associate professor at the University of South Carolina’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management, who has worked with large theme parks, including Walt Disney World, for decades. “The big theme parks are very much invested in the safety of their guests. They are going to be obsessive.” Attorneys representing Zavala’s family have highlighted other issues and want state legislators to consider reforms. Previous injury reports on Epic Universe’s Stardust Racers roller coaster are sparse and lack detail, and Universal gets to decide whether to share internal video footage that could show what happened during Zavala’s final moments on Sept. 17, the family’s attorneys say. “Large companies such as Universal self-report and self-police themselves with respect to any type of government oversight,” family attorney Paul Grinke, a member of Crump’s legal team, said on Tuesday. “The incidents that I’ve seen of Universal self-reporting — with respect to this very ride and other rides at Epic Universe within the very short time it’s been open — have been very self-serving.” Although the ride was scheduled to reopen, the exact circumstances of Zavala’s death remain murky. What is known is Zavala, who used a wheelchair because of a spinal condition, was found slumped over and unconscious after riding Stardust Racers. Witnesses, including his girlfriend, said Zavala’s head repeatedly hit the seat during the ride. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Oversight of thrill rides such as Stardust Racers is a convoluted patchwork of regulations. The federal government only oversees traveling carnival rides, while states take different approaches toward regulating fixed-site amusement park rides. California, for example, requires parks to pass government checks. Disneyland even posts signs letting visitors know they can request to see certificates of compliance for the rides. In Florida, theme parks with over 1,000 employees and their own in-house safety inspectors are exempt from state inspections, though they are still required to file annual inspection affidavits with the state. Smaller attractions, on the other hand, are subject to much more state oversight. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is the agency in charge of overseeing amusement rides. Florida law doesn’t explicitly authorize the agency’s ride inspectors to conduct independent investigations after a death at an exempted theme park, but state officials say the industry has allowed them access, and did so after Zavala’s death. “Following the incident, Universal contacted the department as required by Florida law and voluntarily invited the department to observe all testing and inspections, which exceeded state requirements,” Aaron Keller, an agency spokesman, said in an email. Agency officials concurred with Universal’s findings, and Keller said they were “informed” Friday that the ride would reopen. Universal also made some changes to the operation of the ride, requiring riders who use mobility devices to have the ability to walk independently. In a memo to employees, Universal Orlando Resort President Karen Irwin wrote the company updated “operational procedures and attraction signage to reinforce existing ride warnings and physical eligibility requirements at Stardust Racers and other rides.” Industry insiders argue that larger operations, such as Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World, are the best in the business when it comes to safety and have every incentive to protect their reputations through high standards. One industry group, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, puts the odds of being seriously injured on a fixed ride at a U.S. amusement park at 1 in 15.5 million rides, meaning that the public has a far greater chance of dying in a car crash on their way to a theme park than on a coaster or thrill ride. But consumer advocates like Martin argue deep-pocketed theme park giants and cadres of lobbyists have thwarted government oversight for decades, and putting teeth into Florida’s regulations would save lives, bring accountability and increase transparency. Martin has also pushed for years for consistent federal regulations that would apply to every state. “I am talking lives,” he said. “I am talking safety. I am talking preventing families being torn apart while they were on a vacation.” U.S. Rep. André Carson, D-Indiana, has filed legislation that would enable federal investigations into ride accidents and establish a national database to track mishaps and mechanical issues. That bill, titled the National Amusement Park Ride and Safety Act, hasn’t gained traction in Congress. In a statement, Carson said Zavala’s “tragic death is a devastating reminder of the critical need for stronger safety standards in our nation’s theme parks.” In 2023, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suggested beefing up state inspections of Walt Disney Co.’s rides as he waged a bitter political battle with the entertainment giant. Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson backed the idea at a press conference, saying, “Where a person is injured should not determine how the state responds.” A legislative proposal that would have allowed the state to inspect major theme parks’ rides after a complaint or reported accident was drafted, but then quickly withdrawn. The measure’s fizzling out came as little surprise given the immense political sway held in Tallahassee by the entire theme park industry, beyond just Disney. Disney’s biggest competitor, Universal, employs a stable of lobbyists and is a regular campaign donor. During the 2024 election cycle, Universal and its parent company, Comcast Corp., spent more than $2.5 million on campaign contributions in Florida. Universal provided another $1 million in giveaways to both parties, including free theme park passes, hotel rooms and meals, according to state campaign finance data. Lawyers who sue Central Florida theme parks say the public gets an incomplete picture of theme park injuries. Even getting a definitive count of how many people are injured on amusement rides is difficult. As part of a 25-year-old agreement, Florida’s largest theme parks voluntarily disclose to state officials any injuries requiring at least 24 hours of hospitalization. Those reports are published on the Agriculture Department’s website, but critics say they are vague and lacking in detail. In 2019, for example, an 11-year-old boy’s foot and leg were crushed as Universal’s E.T. Adventure ride pulled up to the exit platform. The child lost so much blood that his uncle fainted, according to the family’s attorney. Universal reported the injury as “foot pain” to the state. Orlando attorney Michael Damaso, who has represented clients injured at theme parks and amusement parks, said that the big theme parks should provide more information on the extent of injuries. When someone is injured, the company will immediately send out a team of employees to put together a report, he said. But the information provided to the state and made public is minimal. “I’ve seen it countless times where it’s not complete,” Damaso said. Attorney Ed Normand, who has litigated theme park injury cases since 1991, said he’d like to see a comprehensive database listing injuries for each ride and more rigorous follow-ups from state inspectors. He said policymakers could look to the system used for food-safety inspections at restaurants. “I have never once had the Department of Agriculture come up to me and say, ‘Hey, what’s going on?'” Normand said. “My sense is money talks, and the theme parks have a lot of power in the state and there really isn’t any incentive for a regulator to step up.” When someone is injured on a ride and files a lawsuit, the theme parks will often agree quickly to a private settlement that keeps secret the details of the injury and any assessment of what went wrong. Last week, for example, a Sanford woman reached an agreement with Universal just two days after filing a lawsuit that claimed she suffered bad whiplash, severe headaches and permanent injuries after riding Stardust Racers in April. No additional details of the incident were made public. Attorneys for Zavala’s family say they want an open and transparent investigation. Orange County’s medical examiner determined he died of multiple blunt force trauma and ruled the death an accident. Questions have been raised about whether a pre-existing spinal condition may have contributed to Zavala’s death. Scrutiny has also been directed at the ride’s lack of shoulder restraints. Others, though, are satisfied with how Universal and the other large theme parks have handled safety issues over the years. Karyn Locke, a travel journalist and blogger from Pittsburgh, Pa., who is a frequent visitor to the parks, was at Epic Universe on Sept. 17 when Zavala died. “When I walk into a theme park, I want to feel safe the minute I walk through the turnstiles,” she said. “With the amount of people [visiting] the major theme parks every day, and the small amount of injuries, I think they are doing a really good job in keeping everyone safe.” View the full article

Every time we go to Disney Springs and we’re craving a tasty treat, we always find ourselves at a specific spot. Now, they brought in a special Halloween treat, and we just had to try it! Trick or Treat Churro Donut We love going to Sunshine Churros, and we had to go there again when we heard about this new treat. We’re here to give you our full review of it! Sunshine Churros at Disney Springs is located in the Marketplace, and it’s full of tasty treats. If you find yourself at the Disney shopping district, we highly recommend you check it out. We got the Trick or Treat Churro Donut for $7.99! Look at this! The Churro Donut is rolled in chocolate sugar, drizzled with peanut butter and chocolate sauce, and topped with peanut butter chocolate candy pieces. Trick or Treat Churro Donut This was essentially a circular churro (a churro donut) topped with everything in the description, so you get what you’d expect. The donut portion was everything you love about a churro in circular form. It had that crispiness to the outside with a thicker shell like a churro. Here it is! It was soft and fluffy on the inside. We will say, we think this treat tastes even better when it is slightly melted, as the peanut butter and chocolate turn into a delicious, almost sauce together. You should try it! The Reese’s pieces also melted to where they were easy to bite through and had that gooey center. If you love chocolate and peanut butter, this would be a good option. We feel like it was a bit expensive for $7.99; we would much rather go and get the $5.90 Bambolini from Vivoli il Gelato and save $2. It was tasty! Overall, we think it’s something you should definitely try since it’s a limited-time item. That being said, it’s probably something we’d only get once since it was on the pricier side. One thing we are constantly reminding Disney goers to do is to hydrate while they’re at the park. There is a lot of walking around you have to do, and it can get HOT! Cinderella Castle You can always get free water cups from quick service locations, but we think the smartest thing to do is bring a water bottle. That way, it’s always with you, and you don’t need to go out of your way for water. Plus, there are many refillable stations around the parks. When it comes to water, we really love the Stanley — and so does every Disney Adult! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The ONLY Water Bottle You Need for Disney World Stanley IceFlow We’ve tested over six insulated water bottles for the parks, and the Stanley IceFlow was hands down the winner! You can get this Stanley in many different colors, so you’re sure to find the one that suits you best. This item was totally worth the money. This one, price-wise, was between the Hydro Flask and the Yeti — which we’ve already tried, and this one is currently our top pick so far. Stanley IceFlow! Not to be too generic, but we like everything about it. The handle flips down on both sides for easy carrying, and the top has a very flush design to it. It’s slimmer like a Hydro Flask, but hefty enough to really do what it says in keeping the water cold and even keeping ice in your drink for several hours. Our favorite feature has to be the lid — it completely comes apart so you can really dig in to clean it, which is a complaint of ours when it comes to water bottles such as Owalas. Carrying Handle There honestly isn’t much we would change with this one. We feel it’s the right size — not too big for carrying around and not too small that you’re constantly running back to fill it up sooner than you anticipated. This 100% made our trip easier, and we’re telling you, you totally need this one for your next Disney World visit. Disney World has been seriously embracing change recently. Changes are happening EVERYWHERE, including in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Muppets Courtyard has closed to make way for a new Monsters, Inc. land. Animation Courtyard is closed to be reimagined. Minnie’s Summertime Dine at Hollywood & Vine One Hollywood Studios restaurant character dining experience is also changing, and we wanted to remind you about it. The character breakfast at Hollywood & Vine will be changing on October 12th. On October 12th, the breakfast at Hollywood & Vine will no longer be Disney Junior Play n’ Dine, but will become the same character experience that you get at lunch and dinner at the restaurant, Minnie’s Seasonal Dining (in this case, it will become Minnie’s Halloween Dine). For breakfast, you will no longer to be able to meet Disney Junior characters. Instead, the characters will include Minnie and her friends. Doc McStuffins is going away However, Disney Junior isn’t completely leaving Hollywood Studios. Disney has shared that it has plans for a future Disney Jr. show in the park, so your little ones will still get to see many of their favorite characters. Disney has not yet revealed an opening timeline for that show, but we’ll let you know when it’s announced! Vampirina I’ve been to lunch at Hollywood & Vine and it’s one of my favorite character dining experiences in the parks. It’s nice to have the same option for breakfast, although I can imagine younger kids might be disappointed they can no longer meet their favorite Disney Jr. characters. We’ll keep an eye out for more changes in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 5 Unspoken Rules for Character Dining in Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Disneyland Paris is a very different park from Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort for many reasons, including theming, dining options, merchandise options, and so much more. Don’t miss this dining option! Since we’re the Disney Food Blog, that means we focus on Disney food at ALL the Disney resorts we get to visit, so Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park are no exception. Over in Avengers Campus, you may walk right by a few food truck stands without giving them a second look, but we’re here to tell you that if you love noodle bowls and/or want something warm on a chilly day, there’s an option you won’t want to miss! In Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to be Disney Adventure World), you’ll find the WEB (Worldwide Eating Brigade) Food Truck right near Avengers Campus. WEB Food Truck You’ll find a few different options on the menu here, but the most prominent is three different types of noodle bowls, officially called the Noodle Chow X-perience for 11 euros. They’re made with noodles, garlic-ginger-lemongrass bouillon, cive, and black mushrooms. As for your meat, you can choose shrimp, chicken, or smoked tofu. Menu board We decided to grab ours with shrimp, and we were very pleasantly surprised! We thought it was great — very strong on the ginger flavor, it was perfect for the chilly weather we experienced, and the size was perfect. Noodle Chow X-Perience with Shrimp The noodles were thick, there were big pieces of shrimp, and it was overall hearty and filling without weighing you down. Yum! You’ll also get a cutlery set with your meal, and while we thought it was perfectly fine, we do wish there had been a spoon, so we didn’t have to drink the broth by tilting the cup to our mouths. Cutlery Set We also had to pick up the iconic Flora Colossus Biscuit, which looks just like Groot! It has a chocolate-hazelnut filling, and you can grab it by itself for 4 Euros, or with a hot or cold beverage of your choice for 7 Euros. Flora Colossus Biscuit While he’s adorable as can be, it’s nothing to write home about. Not to say we didn’t like it, because we did, but it’s nothing super special. It’s fine, a good option for kids and pickier eaters, especially. But at the end of the day, it’s a biscuit with hazelnut spread in the middle, so it’s nothing to go out of the way for unless you want that Instagrammable picture. Cute, but nothing special! Labubus have totally taken over the world (well, it feels that way sometimes), and it appears that they could be taking another BIG step forward to remain in the spotlight. ©Pop Mart In case you’re not familiar with them, labubus are small doll-like creatures from China’s Pop-Mart store that are supposed to be kinda creepy. They’ve got sharp teeth and big eyes, but are wrapped in a cute, fuzzy bunny outfit. There are lots of knockoffs on the market (called “lafufus” by some people), but the real deal has totally taken over, and people of all ages want them all, especially since we’ve now seen Disney Labubus hit the market. However, it’s looking like their popularity could get even BIGGER if this plan plays out. According to Reuters, Pop-Mart’s executive director and co-chief operating officer, Si De, is looking to expand Labubu’s blockbuster sales into long-term success, and taking a note out of Disney’s playbook to do so. In a recent interview, Si De said, “We have learned from Disney for a long time. In fact, Disney’s great value lies in its ability to operate IP [intellectual property] over the long term, even up to 100 years.” ©Pop Mart While some analysts are concerned about this, seeing demand for a toy like this can cool relatively quickly, the company feels they still have plenty of room to develop content, theme parks, entertainment, and more around these popular characters, which is what Disney often does with their most popular IP. ©Pop Mart No timeline was given as to these additional marketing opportunities, as Si De did say that the company doesn’t want to find the next big hit as soon as possible. Instead, they want to focus on making “better products, finding better collaborations, developing content, theme parks, store displays” to eventually have ten IPs with similar long-term potential success as Labubus. ©Tenderlyllowblue on X But how successful is the company right now? Can they actually pull this off? Well, Pop Mart is now worth more than Hasbro, Mattel and Sanrio combined, which is wildly impressive. Labubus are also impressive because they were the first Chinese products to win a global audience for emotional and creative appeal, rather than because they are a good value. The success of the product has also opened up the opportunity for more artists and creatives in China to feel there’s a way for them to break into the industry a little bit easier, as everyone seems to be looking for the next toy that will break the market right open. ©Reuters We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest news about this potential development, so stay tuned to DFB. When it comes to flying, there are a lot of rules you need to know in order to travel. There are rules about luggage, of course (for example, most airlines only allow a personal item and a carry-on bag). Then there are rules about liquids (although that could change soon for some). MCO Airport Security There’s also an optional rule about biometrics, and yes, you can opt out, but if you do opt in, you’ll have your face scanned. This happens at the TSA security checkpoint, but believe it or not, this can also be something you see when you board an aircraft. First, let’s talk about what this whole biometrics thing is about. When you get to TSA security, a photo is taken of your face and then compared to the photo on your ID to make sure they are the same. These images are not shared in any databases, and they are instantly deleted. Spotted at the Orlando Airport When we recently visited Orlando International Airport recently, we noticed a new sign near our gate, which states that your photo is taken as you approach the gate to board the plane and provided to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The CBP will compare that photo to your ID. Photos will be deleted within 12 hours. If you do not wish to have your photo taken, you can see a gate agent or CBP Officer for manual verification of your identity. New sign at the airport Again, keep in mind that this is optional, and if you’re uncomfortable having your photo taken, you can opt out and have your identify verified in another way. We just wanted to give you a heads up if you’ll be traveling soon that if you do opt in, you may have your photo taken twice before your flight. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 3 Unspoken Airport Rules You Need To Know For 2025 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! WE KNOW DISNEY.
