  1. Magic Kingdom is changing in a HUGE way. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is getting a huge upgrade. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is getting an update. A new expansion is coming to Frontierland, while a whole new land is being built behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Recently, we learned about some changes coming to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland. One of those changes was a meet and greet with the Fairy Godmother during that experience. Disney also announced it would be simplifying its packages for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique…well, now, we’ve got all the details on those new packages. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is an experience for kids where they can get a makeover into a princess or prince. You can choose from a variety of packages for your kid’s experience. Disney has revealed samples of their new simplified packages, including the Fairy Tale Package, which includes a themed shirt, makeup, sash, cinch sack, and choice of hairstyle. This package starts at $119.99. ©Disney The Kingdom Package includes a Disney Princess gown, makeup, sash, cinch sack, your choice of hairstyle, accessories, and more. This package will run you $229.99. This is basically the full princess glow-up makeover. ©Disney The Adventure Package will transform your child into a knight, complete with a themed shirt, hairstyle, sword, and shield. This package is $59.99. Note, this is basically the same as the previous Knight Package, with the addition of a shirt. That package was $19.99, meaning that the price for this experience has gone up by $40! ©Disney Speaking of price hikes, the other packages are also more expensive than what similar previous packages offered, but this is the season of price increases in Disney World, so what are you going to do? Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique princess dresses These packages are available to book now on the Disney World website, so if you’re interested in getting one of these packages for your child, you can do so now. This experience is only for children ages 3 to 12 (yeah, we’re disappointed, too, because Disney could rake in some cash if this were available for adults), and they must be accompanied by an adult for their appointment. Up to two guests are allowed to be with the child during the makeover process. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Stay tuned to DFB for more. 3. We spotted a change happening around Disney World, and we’re not sure how we feel about it. Cashless snack cart It looks like cashless snack carts are popping up in the Disney parks, giving folks the option of paying with credit or debit cards, Disney gift cards, or mobile payments. Here’s what you need to know. Heads up, Disney World visitors! It looks like Disney is phasing out cash at select snack carts. We spotted this change in Magic Kingdom, at the Main Street, U.S.A. popcorn cart. There are signs posted near the registers of the snack cart advising folks that it’s a “cashless location,” and that credit cards, Disney gift cards, and mobile payments are the only options here. Cashless popcorn cart at Magic Kingdom We also noticed the same sign located at the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. Cash is no longer accepted at either location. Ananadapur Ice Cream Truck We expect to see this trend continue at other Disney World snack carts, so make sure you keep an eye out for these signs on your next trip. We’re not sure Disney would make ALL of the snack carts cashless, but it’s possible. While making things cashless will likely speed up lines and service at some of these carts, sometimes you just want to pay with cash! This is especially true if it’s a small purchase that you don’t feel like putting on a card — like a popcorn refill or a soda, for example. Sometimes cash is just easier, but we’ll be interested to see how this changes things around Disney World, if it does at all. Keep an eye out at snack carts! We’ll be on the lookout for more cashless snack carts around Disney World. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more. 4. Universal Orlando has unwrapped its holiday programming, which includes returning theme park favorites and expands into new Epic Universe territory. Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s will return to the streets of Universal Studios Florida with big balloons, themed floats plus characters from “Shrek,” “Despicable Me” and “Madagascar.” Santa Claus brings up the rear and triggers the lighting of an 80-foot Christmas tree. The parade, and other holiday programming, begins its daily routine on Nov. 21, the day after Thanksgiving. Islands of Adventure will bring “The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular” back on stage. In addition, visitors can interact with the Grinch and assorted Whos in the Seuss Landing section of the park. That also will be home to a new Who-ville Tree Lot, featuring “a collection of whimsical trees themed to various Dr. Seuss characters,” Universal says. “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle,” a projection show on Hogwarts Castle, will return to Wizarding World of Harry Potter at IOA. Seasonal decor will be added to Orlando’s other two Wizarding Worlds, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios and Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. (It’s also warm butterbeer season.) For Epic’s first holiday season, the park will install special lighting and decorations in Celestial Park, the first land that visitors walk through when entering the theme park, which opened in May. These holiday festivities are included with regular theme-park admission. Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios also offer the Universal Holiday Tour, which includes exclusive meet-ups with Santa and the Grinch, reserved seating for shows, cookie decorating, light bites and priority access to a Studios attraction. Pricing varies between $80 and $110, depending on date, and the tour also requires purchase of a one-day, two-park park-to-park ticket. IOA again hosts Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast at Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous. The menu is Seuss-themed — think green eggs and ham quiche — and includes Who-ville interactions, including a Grinch spotting. The breakfast price is $58.99 ($32.99 for ages 3-9). Universal CityWalk’s Red Coconut Club will morph into the Green and Red Coconut Club for the season. The theme for 2025 is Mistletoe Pines Ski Lodge. Universal Orlando will have New Year’s Eve festivities at the three theme parks and 11 hotels, but details have not yet been released. Universal’s holiday activities will run through Jan. 4. 5. Disney World is adding a new hotel to its lineup soon, and we just got a closer look at it. Lakeshore Lodge Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is a new Disney Vacation Club resort that will be opening in 2027! This will be the newest Magic Kingdom resort area hotel when it opens. When we tell you we have been reporting on this resort for a long time, it’s true. That’s because it was originally announced in 2018, and now it’s really taking shape. Let’s look at the latest photos! This resort is located between Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The brand-new hotel will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” We were able to see the progress being made on the Disney boats to Fort Wilderness. As you can see, many cranes and lots of construction is happening in the area. Look at alllll that construction The hotel looks large with its impressive footprint. While we haven’t heard an update since the hotels changed names, originally, this resort was announced as an ALL-NEW Disney Vacation Club hotel with more than 900 rooms. It’s really taking shape — exciting! As we walked around at neighboring resorts, we got a better look at the rooms! You can see the 5 stories that will make up the building pretty clearly. Another view! Closer to the lake, it appears that several A-frame structures are being built. Could these be lakeside cabins? Very exciting progress Disney has confirmed this will be a Disney Vacation Club Resort similar to Disney’s Riviera Resort, Bay Lake Tower, and more. The hotel is expected to be labeled as a Deluxe Resort, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Another look at construction We don’t know too much about this resort yet, so we are anxiously awaiting Disney to release more, and when they do, we will bring it to you! Concept Art We will continue to provide you with updates on the construction of Lakeshore Lodge! 6. A woman in her 60s died after being found unresponsive following a ride on the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland on the evening of October 6th, KTLA has reported. Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Anaheim Fire & Rescue was called to the park around 6:30 PM following reports of an unresponsive guest who had just ridden the Haunted Mansion. It was reported that Disneyland security provided aid and CPR until paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was then pronounced dead, Sgt. Matt Sutter with Anaheim Fire & Rescue told KTLA. Haunted Mansion Disney officials did confirm that a guest required medical attention and was taken to a local hospital. The Orange County Sheriff Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death, and as of now, the woman’s exact name, age, or city of residence has not been released. Haunted Mansion Holiday Sgt. Sutter confirmed, “There is no indication of any operating issue with the attraction, which reopened soon after,” and that the incident “appears to be an unfortunate medical episode.” Our thoughts are with the woman’s friends and family during this time. 7. Sometimes I visit theme parks with no ride or reason in mind. Recently, I made a loop of Islands of Adventure, a place I’ve been hundreds of times since 1999, and it was a mix of sentimentality and discovery. Strolling through the park’s Port of Entry, I notice five pieces of colorful glass embedded into the walkway. I imagine they’ve always been there — why would Universal add them later, after all — but I don’t remember them. Are they symbolic, like for the five original lands of IOA? Or are they just pretty and scene setters? The designs of Central Florida parks are so layered that you can literally walk right past/over them. It reminded me of another Port of Entry discovery in the early COVID-19 pandemic days. It was so quiet, and that enabled me to first hear the prerecorded jailbreak banter over by the Christmas store. (It’s still rolling.) Other recent entries in my mental IOA notebook: • The construction walls were gone again from the former Poseidon’s Fury attraction. Although Universal Orlando filed construction permits recently for that area, no announcement has been made, and I couldn’t spy any action. Visitors can now walk almost up to the front door, and most of the water features were working. The vegetation is under control, too. I took more pictures because one day that view will be gone. (Crumbling big feet with Marvel Super Hero Island in the background is an unusual sight.) Visitors can get reasonably close to the one-time entrance of Poseidon's Fury at Islands of Adventure. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) I bumped into an exploring family who were distracted by lizards. “Look, there’s another one.” I let them have their fun, but in my head I said, “Y’all aren’t from around here, are you?” • From some angles, Lost Continent is exactly the same as opening day. But it’s also completely different, even if you mentally lop off the Wizarding World of Harry Potter takeover. The buildings for Poseidon and the “The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad” theater still stand, but are empty. The ground-level shops are rearranged, some selling “How to Train Your Dragon” merchandise. The rocky archway to nowhere still stands and is an oddly tempting resting spot. There since the beginning: Mythos restaurant and Fire-Eaters Grill. Also still standing: the Mystic Fountain. In the Sentinel’s IOA preview of 1999, it’s reported there’s a 1,000-year-old soul trapped inside.” Also in that report, we say the trains of the Dueling Dragons pass “within 12 inches of each other.” Ah, memories. • A final Lost Continent tidbit, I saw online and double-checked: Sure enough, the merman figure that’s above the entrance to the Treasures of Poseidon store has a tail that continues along in the ceiling inside. Islands of Adventure visitors achieve splashdown at the Jurassic Park River Adventure ride. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel). • Jurassic Park River Adventure seemed extra splashy and reminded me to remind you that the attraction will be closed for maintenance from Jan. 5 through Nov. 19. Again, Universal isn’t talking much, but that might seem like a long stint for just a regular scrub down, no? • Remember the purple wall craze based out of Magic Kingdom? I yearned a little for those days as I wandered into the Dr. Doom Fearfall area, as the walls there would make an … interesting … red and green splotchy backdrop. When that trend circles back, I’m ready. The Earth Information Center at The Gantry at LC-39 is a guest experience that opened this summer at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (Ricardo Ramirez Buxeda/Orlando Sentinel) Attractions news and nuggets • The Zoo Boo Bash returns at Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens on Saturday. It includes a trick-or-treating path, animal enrichments, holiday decor and eats. Details: centralfloridazoo.org • The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has remained open during the government shutdown. Details: kennedyspacecenter.com • Discovery Cove, SeaWorld Orlando’s day resort, is offering 40% off reservations through the end of 2026, but you must book by Oct. 19, 2025. Details: discoverycove.com • Museum of Illusions Orlando has several Dia de los Muertos activities set, including a Family Fun Day on Nov. 1, which morphs into an adults-only evening celebration. Details: moiorlando.com • Walt Disney World reports that sales for its special license plate across Florida have raised more than $5 million for Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida. The design was introduced in 2021. • Disney World is rolling out themed cold brew coffee options at all four theme parks. An eye-catcher: The Epic Cold Brew Spectacular at Hollywood Studios, topped with a wee Indiana Jones-style fedora and cookie butter cold foam. CourtesyFeatured stories in the October 2025 issue of ‘Explore Florida & the Caribbean.’ “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well,” Virginia Woolf once said. We’re going to crawl out on a limb here and add “travel well,’’ either. Because the October issue of “Explore Florida & the Caribbean” is sending us off for some good meals before traveling on. 10. Just two hours south of Walt Disney World, nestled along Florida’s scenic Treasure Coast, sits Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. As Disney Vacation Club’s first off-site resort, this idyllic beach hideaway has been home to vibrant Disney storytelling, memorable family traditions and impactful ocean conservation efforts since it first opened its doors on October 1, 1995. The resort is more than a vacation getaway – it’s a retreat where the beauty of Florida’s beaches blends with Disney’s signature hospitality. Families return year after year to stroll the dunes, relax under swaying palms and discover the unique connection between the resort’s magic and its natural surroundings. The resort has also played a vital role in protecting Florida’s coastline, particularly through sea turtle conservation. Since 2007, cast members and conservation experts have been educating guests about these endangered species and inspiring the next generation of wildlife protectors. This milestone year is especially meaningful thanks to three remarkable cast members who have been here since day one. All three discovered Disney’s Vero Beach Resort the same way – through a job posting in the local newspaper – and have spent the last three decades creating unforgettable memories for guests and fellow cast members alike. Today, they proudly wear that special blue nametag, a symbol of the Walt Disney Legacy Award – an honor given to cast members who consistently inspire others, go above and beyond and bring Disney’s values to life through their dedication. A Hometown Treasure For Altamese “Patty” Jacobs, a proud Vero Beach native, the Disney magic began right at home. Patty started in housekeeping before eventually finding her long-term home at the front desk as a Room Readiness Coordinator. What she treasures most about her job is the people she meets along the way. She never thought she’d meet so many people from all across the globe. “I work for a company that touches other countries and brings people together,” Patty shared, “that’s different for me, and I love it.” “Disney is a place for happy.” she explains. “If you like people and you like to make magic, this is your place to be because it doesn’t matter what your role is, you can do it. That is my aim always. I aim to make people happy.” Making Happy Happen Patty’s goal to make happy happen is shared by her leader, Nicole Luecker, who spent two decades at the front desk before taking on other leadership roles and eventually returning as an Area Manager. No matter the position, her most cherished memories are about the guests she has met. “So many of our guests are returning guests. They come year after year,” she shared. “Recently, I was speaking to one of our guests from the UK, who I met 20 years ago. He was updating me on his family. It’s so beautiful that after 20 years, we still keep in touch and share our family stories, and it’s not just this one guest. It’s so many of our Guests here at Vero. When they visit, it’s like a family – we’re united again.” Sharing the Magic Dawn Allen began in Merchandise and remembered opening day as a true celebration. “It was wild. It was a party. We had confetti cannons. We had huge decorations on the beach. Each department did a little skit on stage…just lots of fun!” she recalled. From that very first day, the most enduring part of Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, for Dawn, has been the closeness of the cast. “We’re more like family than just a resort. Everybody really gets to know each other. It’s a close-knit, cozy atmosphere.” Now, in her role with HR, Dawn helps sustain those values of fun and family with each new generation of cast members. She also spent time as both a Traditions Facilitator and Orientation Leader. “My favorite part is when I meet cast members on their very first day and I see that sparkle in their eyes,” she shared, “I know that I’ve got the chance to inspire them in their role and help them enjoy their time here. It’s very fulfilling.” 30 Years of Magic on the Treasure Coast For three decades, the magic of Disney’s Vero Beach Resort has remained timeless. Cast members have welcomed families home, created countless memories, and helped protect the wildlife that makes Florida’s treasure coast so special. The resort’s story is one of balance – a place where sunrise walks on the beach, turtle hatchling releases and the laughter of families by the pool all blend into one shared tradition. Here’s to 30 yEARS of magic, family, and conservation at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and to the cast members whose dedication ensures that waves of Disney magic will continue to roll on for generations to come. 11. It’s that time of year when Disney World makes everything more expensive, unfortunately. We LOVE Happily Ever After! Nothing has been safe from Disney World’s most recent price increases: tickets, Annual Passes, parking, and food and drinks. But that’s not where the bad news ends. If you plan to partake in a special fireworks party at Disney World, get ready to shell out more cash. Disney World’s Fireworks Dessert Parties and dining packages let guests enjoy light eats and beverages as they sit and take in fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. Magic Kingdom, for example, has the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Pre-Party Dessert Party, the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Seats & Sweets Party, the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Post-Party, and the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party. It’ll now cost more to experience them. Fireworks Dessert Parties at Tomorrowland Terrace First, the good news, the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Pre-Party Dessert Party and the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Post-Party prices have not changed. Those prices are still the following: $99 to $109 for adults (depending on the date) and $59 for children ages three through nine. Dessert party treats Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Specacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace has gone up from $119 for adults and $75 for children to $124 for adults and $74 for children. However, the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing has not changed in price — it’s still $99 for adults and $59 for children. Tomorrowland Terrace The Magic Kingdom Fireworks Seats & Sweets Party has also gone up in price. The prices were $119 to $129 for adults (depending on the date) and $75 for children. The prices are now $124 to $134 for adults and $74 for children. Fireworks Party at Tomorrowland Terrace in Magic Kingdom The Specialty Fireworks Cruise was $449 per boat, but that price has gone up to $499. Note that this price is for up to ten guests. Pontoon Boat for Fireworks Cruise In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, almost all of the Fantasmic! Dining Packages have remained the same EXCEPT for Hollywood & Vine. The adult price changed from $65 to $67, while the children’s pricing changed from $39 to $42. 12. The day we dread every year has finally arrived. Every year, around this time, we get a SLEW of price increases for Disney World, and well, here we are. Zurg parking lot at Magic Kingdom We’ve already told you about a ton of price increases on food and drinks, as well as price increases for tickets and Annual Passes, but we’ve got another price hike to tell you about. If you plan on driving to Disney World, parking is going to cost you more at the theme parks. If you’ll be driving to Disney World theme parks, regular self-parking has now increased from $30 to $35. If you drive an oversized vehicle, the parking fee has gone up from $35 to $40. If you want to get a guaranteed spot that’s closer to the theme park entrance (or in Magic Kingdom’s case, closer to the Monorail), you’ll pay $50 to $60 per day, depending on the day, up from a set price of $45. EPCOT parking lot Note that if you pay for parking at one park, that is good for the entire day, even if you drive to another theme park. If you’re a Disney World hotel guest who still wants to pay for preferred parking, you’ll only have to pay by paying the difference in cost between the included standard parking and preferred parking. Do you really need to pay for preferred parking? Of course, if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel or you’re a select Annual Passholder, parking is still free if you want to drive from the hotel to the theme parks. However, you also have the choice of using Disney World’s expansive transportation system to travel to and from the parks from your hotel. Skyliner However, if you’re staying elsewhere, you’ll have to pay for parking at the parks, so you’ll want to keep that in mind if you plan on driving. Stay tuned to DFB for more. This one, price-wise, was between the Hydro Flask and the Yeti, which we’ve already tried, and this one is currently our top pick so far. The handle flips down on both sides for easy carrying, and the top has a very flush design to it. It keeps the water cold and even keeps ice in your drink for several hours. 15. *sigh* We have more price increase news in Disney World, we’re sorry to say. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park tickets, annual passes, and thousands of food items across the resort have received price increases. Unfortunately, more price increases have landed in the resort, this time specifically in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you were planning on building a Lightsaber or a droid soon and you haven’t already booked your reservation, you’ll now be paying a little bit more. Building a droid or a lightsaber in Galaxy’s Edge can be expensive experiences that are incredibly exciting for Star Wars fans. Who doesn’t want to build their own lightsaber?! Well, now, building lightsabers and droids is going to cost you more at Hollywood Studios. Parts and Builders Previously, building a droid started at $119.99 per person plus tax, and building a lightsaber was $249.99 per person plus tax, but now price increases have hit BOTH of these experiences. Droid Depot Now, the droid-building experience at Droid Depot will cost $129, and the lightsaber-building experience will cost $274.99. Kyber Crystal inserted into the hilt These certainly aren’t the only price increases we’ve seen take place recently. We’ve also seen price increases hit Disney World hotels, tickets, special tours that can be added on to your trip, and much more. October is typically the time we see a lot of these price increases take place, so if you’re planning a trip in 2026 and beyond, we recommend booking before October to hopefully avoid potential price increases. 16. Walt Disney World has raised the prices on all levels of its annual passes to its four theme parks, effective immediately. The Disney Incredi-Pass, the top level of passes, which allows entry for a year without any block-out dates, now sells for $1,629. It has been priced at $1,549 since an increase last October. It’s up 5.2%. The Disney Sorcerer Pass now costs $1,099, up from $1,079, an increase of 2.7%. This level is designated for Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club members. These passes come with block-out dates during the November-December holiday period. The new Disney Pirate Pass price is $869, up from $829, a 4.8% increase. This level is for Floridians and features about 50 block-out dates in the next year, including around key holidays and peak periods such as spring break. Finally, the Disney Pixie Pass now goes for $489, up from $469, a 4.3% increase. This ticket allows theme park entry Mondays through Fridays, although there are block-out dates for some weeks. Annual passholder receive complimentary parking at the theme parks as well as various degrees of discounts on food and merchandise. The resort’s park reservations policy, instituted as Disney World reopened from its pandemic shutdown in 2020, remains in place. Singloe-day parking fees also have been raised to $35 per day at Disney World theme parks. Prices for single-day, single-park tickets at Disney are more difficult to monitor because they vary by day and by theme park. The current range for this category is $119-$199, Disney has confirmed. The extremes of that price range have not changed, Disney says, but some of the midrange tickets have gone up by an average of $5, the company says. But in November 2026, the one-day ticket range will increase to as high as $209, Disney says. Email me at dbevil@orlandosentinel.com. BlueSky: @themeparksdb. Threads account: @dbevil. 17. Every year at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, we here at Disney Parks Blog are always eager to see which of our picks of festivals past will inspire the Festival Favorites menu in World Celebration. This year, we had the opportunity to sample some of the returning favorites from all over World Showcase. I teamed up with Katie and Ally from Disney Eats to sample the latest Festival Favorites menu. Here’s your update on this ever-changing foodie stop. Where to Find Festival Favorites Head over to CommuniCore Hall to find Festival Favorites right at the heart of World Celebration. While you’re grabbing a bite, you might also catch the ¡Celebración Encanto! interactive dance show at CommuniCore Plaza. The Festival Favorites Global Marketplace will be open for the rest of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, until Nov. 22, 2025. Festival Favorites Menu Here are the savory and sweet delights available right now at the Festival Favorites Global Marketplace. Potato Pierogi This hearty serving features Potato with kielbasa topped with a helping of caramelized onions and drizzled with sour cream. It turns out we were all pretty familiar with these pierogis; everyone in our group reported that they order this dish each year. Katie (who regularly tests and publishes Disney Parks recipes right here on the blog) tasted this one, and spoke for us all when she noted, “The kielbasa paired with the caramelized onions creates this wonderful salty and sweet flavor. This is a filling dish that makes a really hearty snack.” The rich flavors stand out in this dish, a robust choice to pair with the Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon, also available at the Festival Favorites location. Curry-Spiced Fried Cheese Inspired by previous iterations of curried fried cheese from the India Global Marketplace, you’ll love these spiced bites accompanied by mango-curry ketchup. These clever bites pack in lots of curry flavor, without a spicy heat. I love curry flavors, so this one was a real treat. The crunch of the breading on the pull-apart fried cheese blended so well with the mango-curry ketchup. Frozen S’more When we ordered, this non-alcoholic chocolate milk shake featured marshmallow syrup, and is topped with lots of mini marshmallows, chocolate shavings, and a graham cracker. Ally tried the Frozen S’more Chocolate Milk Shake, and didn’t hold back on her campfire salute, “It’s a really chocolatey milkshake for sure,” She mixed in her marshmallows and dipped her graham cracker into the shake to combine the flavors and textures, “It’s like s’mores in a cup!” With lots of fun ingredients to work in, this one is sure to be a hit with kiddos on sunny days. Katie also noted that the dark chocolate balanced out the milk shake sweetness, making this a treat suited for adult palates, too. Irish Milk Shake This favorite, previously featured at the Ireland Global Marketplace in past years, brings back a serving of Guinness Stout, Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur, and vanilla ice cream. This treat is also available at Swirled Showcase this year. Long sought after by yours truly, I tried the Irish Milk Shake again this year to see if it lived up to my memories of strolling through the UK Pavilion. The creaminess of the Guinness Stout combined with a bit of bite from the Baileys brought me right back to the first time I tried the Ireland Global Marketplace version back in ye olde 2019. Wine and Seasonal Beer Favorites The seasonal beers at Festival Favorites harken back to some of your favorite selections available at Global Marketplaces all around EPCOT. Availability is subject to change. At time of publication, we spotted these seasonal brews: Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen from Mainz, Germany Parish Brewing Co. SIPS Cabernet Franc Strawberry Berliner Weisse from Broussard, LA 3 Daughters Brewing Beach Blonde Ale from St. Petersburg, FL Check back at the Festival Favorites booth throughout the fest, as these selections can change. Available wines include: Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley, California Martin Ray Chardonnay Sonoma Coast, California We love to kick off our EPCOT Food & Wine Festival stroll at the Festival Favorites booth. Be sure to save some room for more nearby Global Marketplaces like Milled & Mulled, Flavors from Fire, and Gyozas of the Galaxy (new to the fest this year). For more information on this year’s fest, including a quick list of all the Global Marketplace menus, see our 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Foodie Guide. 19. Well… it looks like Disney is just getting more and MORE expensive! MagicBands! Prices for Disney World tickets have gone up, prices for Disney World Annual Passes have gone up, and now they are removing an amazing perk that helped save you money on your Disney World vacation! Why Disney, WHY?! Many perks come with staying in a Disney World hotel! This includes things like close proximity to the park, transportation to the park, early entry and after-hours, and discounted MagicBands. Now, Disney is removing the perk of getting discounted MagicBands. MagicBand+ in Disney World Some people were able to get discounted MagicBands yesterday, but as of today, there are no more discounts offered for Disney World hotel guests. However, they aren’t the only ones who lost the discount. This is news we did not want to hear, so we just had to check online, and sure enough… ©Disney …the discount is gone. You can see with the Grogu band that the price listed is $44.99. That used to be $34.99, a pretty decent drop in price. This was an amazing perk for guests who chose to stay on property, and especially for families and larger parties! ©Disney It wasn’t a typo, unfortunately (we did have our fingers crossed), the discount was gone across all MagicBands. ©Disney As for solid MagicBands, there is no discount provided for those anymore, but they sit at a price of $34.99. ©Disney We didn’t want to believe it was true, so we even chatted with a Cast Member, who also confirmed with us that this was the new reality. Unfortunately, they removed such a great perk. It was nice for resort guests and Annual Passholders to have access to saving money on MagicBands if they wanted them. MagicBands are very useful when it comes to a Disney World vacation. They can be used to pay, open your hotel room, enter the park, and interact with gold statues around the park. 21. The cost of accessing the Kingdom’s keys just went up. Behind the Seeds There are several October traditions that Walt Disney World fans love: The ongoing EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, Halloween celebrations headlined by Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and even the commemoration of Walt Disney World’s October 1971 opening. However, there’s one longstanding October “tradition” many actively dread: Price Increases. These price increases go beyond theme park tickets. For example, Disney is also increasing the prices of their Special Tour experiences. Check out all the details and price increases below. 22. There are so many new and exciting additions coming to Animal Kingdom! ©Disney One of the ones we’re most excited about is the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show coming to the Tree of Life Theatre! This new show will debut on November 7th, along with a new meet and greet with Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps just outside the Tree of Life area, but we’ve wondered for a while if there will be any previews for Annual Passholders or DVC members. Now, we finally have our answer! It’s now been announced that Annual Passholders will be able to preview this new show on November 5th and 6th! To get access to this preview on both days, a Virtual Queue will be in place, and APs can join at 7 AM or 1 PM. ©Disney You must have a park pass reservation for Animal Kingdom on either/both days in order to get access to the Virtual Queue. However, something new is happening with this virtual queue — for BOTH drops, you do not need to be in a theme park to join the queue. This means you can be practically anywhere to join either queue, but you DO need a park pass. ©Disney This new show is in 4D, and you’ll use Carrot Vision 3D Glasses to join in on the Zoogether Day celebrations, which is “a celebration of unity amongst the diverse biomes across the city, will be recognized with special performances such as ice-skating spectaculars from the heart of Tundratown!” A Zoogether Day live broadcast will be held by Heidi Howler, which is part of what we’ll be seeing as guests in the show. Zoogether Day ©Disney We’ll also get to see an audio-animatronic of none other than Benjamin Clawhauser, who is decked out in glow necklaces, bracelets, and his favorite glittery Gazelle tee shirt to celebrate the day. He really wants to become the V.I.Z. (Very Important Zootopian – the lucky mammal who will get special access to the Zoogether Day performers). But when things don’t go as planned, he takes things into his own hands. ©Disney While we’re still slightly bummed that an Animal Kingdom opening day attraction is now closed, especially since its California counterpart closed in 2018 to make way for Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure, we will always remember the 3D bug glasses and the terrifying Hopper animatronic. We’re also thrilled this new show doesn’t involve us getting “stung,” — we won’t miss that at all! When Is Disney’s New Animal Kingdom Land Opening? 25. For the first time in forever, we are getting a HUGE change to this popular EPCOT attraction! Frozen Ever After It has been a morning of breaking news for Disney World, from the announcement of when the Muppets Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster would open to the increasing prices of Disney World tickets in 2026. On top of that, Disney dropped some very exciting news about Frozen Ever After at EPCOT, and we seriously can’t let it go — we’re too pumped! Some big changes are coming to the beloved attraction located in the Norway pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase. Frozen Ever After debuted in EPCOT in 2016, taking guests on a journey into Queen Elsa’s ice palace. The movie, being one of Disney’s biggest hits of all time, has led to this ride being a very popular one at the park. And, the Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff animatronics will all be getting new updates! Frozen Ever After often has long lines! The ride is full of Audio-Animatronics figures, including Sven, Kristoff, Olaf, Marshmallow, and of course, Anna and Elsa! At the time of the ride’s release, the animatronic figures were absolutely groundbreaking in the world of Audio-Animatronics. It wasn’t just big because this was the first-ever attraction themed to Frozen, but it was also the first attraction to have all-electric animatronic figures — combining electric motors and 3D printing. So, lots of firsts for the ride! Sven The detail and movement in Elsa, as you finally make it to the top of the ice palace, is truly amazing. You can see her ice-forming hand gestures, which for her animatronic figure to handle the fluid movements just like Elsa does on screen, Imagineers needed enough space to run cables and motors down her arms and hands. How crazy is that?! They had to figure out how big they needed to make Elsa’s wrist, and then scale everything else to fit that! Yes, Imaineers are just that good at what they do! Frozen Ever After The animatronics on this attraction were not only a huge milestone, but also the stepping stone to the animatronics we’ve seen since then! You can see it in the technology of all-electric motors, 3D printing, and scaling for every figure they have brought out over recent years. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World and Disneyland is a great example of this. Or, how about the gorgeous and extremely impressive animations on Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival at Tokyo DisneySea and World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland? Tiana Alright, so we mentioned a big change was coming to the EPCOT attraction. It’s no secret that, as impressive as the animatronics are to the journey of animatronic development, everyone is always talking about those projected faces on the characters. So, in a full circle moment of innovation, Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff will all be getting new updates! After ten years, the faces of the animatronics on Frozen Ever After at EPCOT will change from their projected look. Frozen Ever After animatronics The attraction will draw inspiration from the advancements seen in figures at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland. This is so exciting, take a look at how they look over there, and what we can expect! ©Disney Coming early next year, in 2026, this investment will bring a more true-to-film look for these beloved characters. The more we look at these photos from the international attraction, the more excited we get about what the future holds for the EPCOT attraction!
