  1. Texas seems to be a new HOT spot for theme parks, and even Universal is building its Universal Kids Resort there, which is set to open in 2026. ©Cotaland Even experts think more theme parks will be coming to Texas soon. One that’s currently under construction is Cotaland, a theme park located in Austin, TX, near the Circuit of The Americas racing circuit. Well, that theme park was supposed to open in October, but now it seems that its opening may be delayed. According to Chron, Cotaland had plans to have the park open in time for the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in October. However, it now seems like the park might not open until 2026. Once it is completed, though, Cotaland will have more than 30 rides across 30 acres, including the first tilt coaster, Circuit Breaker, in Texas. This will also be Austin’s first major roller coaster. ©Cotaland Other rides that are in the works include an infinity roller coaster, Palindrome, which will cost around $5 million to build, as well as a flume ride. Cotaland has shared teasers of other rides coming to the parks on social media, but hasn’t confirmed anything else beyond that. ©Cotaland Cotaland has been sharing progress on its social media of these three rides, but the theme park has not yet revealed a definitive opening timeline. In the meantime, a real estate developer in the area is looking to build a 1,000-room hotel and convention center next to the Circuit of the Americas racetrack. Meanwhile, a new record-breaking dive coaster is coming to Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, and Universal Kids Resort is under construction in Frisco. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 2. A lot of things can delay a flight, and we’ve all been there, at least if you’ve flown more than a few times. Southwest Planes at Orlando International Airport Sometimes, delays happen because bad weather is causing issues. Sometimes, delays are for weird reasons (no joke…in Orlando once saw flight delays due to a dead armadillo on the runway). Sometimes, delays are due to technical issues. However, a NEW delay reason has erupted its nasty head…ransomware, which was responsible for recent flight disruptions in Europe. According to Reuters, recent airport disruptions across Europe that affected automated check-in systems were caused by a ransomware attack. The EU’s cybersecurity agency also emphasized that this is a growing risk to critical infrastructure and industries, including airlines. MCO Airport Ransomware is a form of malware that locks up data until the victim pays to have it restored. Once the code is loaded on a computer, users will be locked out of the computer itself or specific data stored on it. Some versions of ransomware can even affect networked computers. Some of Europe’s biggest airports, including Brussels and London Heathrow, faced issues after hackers knocked out the automated check-in systems provided by Collins Aerospace. In the end, dozens of flights, as well as thousands of passengers, were unable to fly. The incident is currently being investigated by law enforcement. Baggage claim at MCO! These attacks are generally targeted at high-profile victims, in this case, a company that provides software to several airlines that operate in Europe. Although these attacks aren’t happening more often, they are becoming more visible because of those who are targeted. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 3. If you’re craving something fresh from the sea (without leaving central Florida), EPCOT’s Coastal Eats booth might just be calling your name. Peruvian Ceviche The 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival officially opened in late August and already has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But guess what? We’re not done yet, because TWO NEW Food Booths have just joined the lineup, and the big question is: will Coastal Eats make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a breezy seaside bistro… or will it sink like an overcooked scallop? Let’s dig in and find out! Menu Over at the Coastal Eats, you’ll find a variety of available items. This isn’t the most robust menu, but she packs a punch! You’ll find Lump Crab Cake (a returning item) and some new eats too, like the Peruvian Ceviche and the Seaside Pot Pie. 2025 Menu There are a few drinks on here, the returning cocktail Boyd & Blair Pomegranate Codder, and a new wine option, Rileys Lookout Sauvignon Blanc. Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the Lump Crab Cake with Cajun-spiced vinegar slaw and remoulade. This is a returning menu item, though this year, the description is a little different! Back in 2019, the Lump Crab Cakes served here came with Napa Cabbage Slaw and Avocado-lemongrass Cream, and when we saw them again in 2023, they came with an aïoli and vinegar slaw. This year, it’s available for $7.50. So, here it is, y’all…this is a best of the fest item. Yep, we went there! Lump Crab Cake The seasoning on the crab cake was PERFECT, and the cake itself was juicy on the inside with a nice crispy baked outside. The crab meat is really the star of this dish, and we really appreciated that there wasn’t a lot of filler to the cake. We also loved how the flavor combined with the slaw. Next up, we grabbed a new dish, the Peruvian Ceviche with mahi mahi, shrimp, sweet potato, chulpe, choclo, and leche de tigre for $7.50. Now every ceviche we’ve had has also had tomatoes and carrots, but we guess that a Peruvian ceviche is different, but we did find we were missing those flavors. The dish also scores an “A” for presentation — it’s served in a coconut shell. We thought it could have used a little more lime flavor, too, but overall, it’s a good option. Peruvian Ceviche And last of the bites at this booth is the Seaside Pot Pie with shrimp, scallops, crawfish tails, and lobster bisque topped with puff pastry for $7.50. This dish is a HIT, y’all. The lobster bisque is so buttery, and each of the seafood items in the pie is so well-cooked. Even if you don’t like the whole pot pie thing, this could win you over. The puff pastry is crispy, flaky, and almost croissant-like. The scallops were buttery, and the crawfish tails and shrimp were briny. Paired with that lobster bisque, and you’ve got the perfect little meal baked into a pie. Seaside Pot Pie Now, on to the beverages! Drinks Previously known as the Cape Codder, the Boyd & Blair Pomegranate Codder returns again this year for $12.50. You will want to mix it up a bit, but that pomegranate flavor really comes through. The codder reminded us of tequila, and the whole thing was sort of like an Arnold Palmer, but with a pomegranate flavor. It’s just the thing you want for a hot Florida day. Boyd & Blair Pomegranate Codder You may also opt for the Rileys Lookout Sauvignon Blanc for $6.50. This wine is very sweet and very dry, and there’s a hint of tartness to it, like a green grape kind of flavor. It’s very good. It may not be the best wine we’ve ever had, but it’s refreshing. Rileys Lookout Sauvignon Blanc So what did we think about our experience at Coastal Eats? OVERALL It’s almost like the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival saved its best booth for last since Coastal Eats just opened today, and we would agree that this might even be a best of the fest contender for us. The food here is done SO well, and if you love seafood, you’ll want to make this your first stop at the festival. 4. Every single week, we look up all the latest and greatest Disney news, so we ensure you’re kept in the loop about everything going on. It may not seem like a lot can change in a week, but with Disney, that’s FAR from the truth. ©Shanghai Disney Disney has parks all over the world, and while we’re seeing tons of construction and additions at our home park of Disney World, there are also lots of projects happening in Disneyland, as well as Disneyland Paris, and recently, we just learned about an attraction expansion coming to Shanghai Disney! In case you’ve been bogged down with work and life in general, here are some of the biggest updates you may have missed from the Disney parks this week. Over in Shanghai Disney, the popular Soaring Over the Horizon ride will be getting around a 50% increase in capacity, as well as a special new ending! This ride is very similar to Soarin’ in both Disney World and Disneyland, as it takes riders on an exhilarating flight over some of the wonders of the world. The new ending will take guests over Shanghai Disney, and other new additional magical surprises will be included as well. There’s no timeline for these changes just yet, but Shanghai Disney told us to stay tuned, and that’s just what we’ll do! ©Shanghai Disney Meanwhile, if you’re planning on sailing the seven seas on the Disney Treasure soon, there’s a special experience at the Haunted Mansion Parlor you cannot miss, especially if you’re a fan of spooky scavenger hunts. You’ll need to grab a DisneyBand+ (similar to MagicBand+, but this is just used for Disney Cruise Line vacations) to make use of this, but Disney has announced that starting this October, “use your DisneyBand+ for a Happy Hunt to find hidden ghosts throughout the ship. Return them to Madame Leota for a swinging wake!” Yes, that means a ghost scavenger hunt is available, and when you do find all the ghosts, you’ll unlock something special in the lounge. It sounds like this experience is very close to the Bounty Hunter game available for MagicBand+ users in Galaxy’s Edge, which has been a big hit! Haunted Mansion Parlor We’re super stoked for the new Tropical Americas land coming to Animal Kingdom, and we were so thrilled to finally get an update about the new Encanto attraction coming to Pueblo Esperanza inside the new land! Jared Bush, a writer/director on Encanto and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, recently made a tweet that said, “Flying home from Europe and my plane homework will be writing new dialogue for… the Encanto attraction at #DisneyAnimalKingdom which means new words for the magical, fantastical Familia Madrigal!” This is so exciting for many reasons — one, because it means progress is being made on the attraction, and two, because it means that we’re getting NEW scenes, animation, and, of course, dialogue, for the ride. We can’t wait to hear more! ©Disney Looking for even more recent Disney news? Check out our posts below! More Recent Disney News! 5. It seems like every time we blink, a new streaming app is born. ©Scholastic It’s hard to keep up with all of them, too, although we’ve been keeping up with Disney+ and Hulu (of course), as well as Netflix, Apple TV+, Peacock, Paramount, and more. Well, add one more to the list…especially if you have kids. Scholastic is launching its own streaming app, but there’s a catch — it’s 100% free! Scholastic’s 9 Story Media Group has partnered with Future Today to launch the very first Scholastic streaming site that is now available on Roku and Amazon Fire TV, with more platforms coming soon. The app offers families with kids a FREE and safe destination for some of their favorite shows, including Clifford the Big Red Dog (Classic, Seasons 1-2), The Magic School Bus (Classic, Seasons 1-4), Goosebumps (Original Series, Seasons 1-3), and more. ©PBS The new streaming service will be ad-supported and will have a “deep catalog of iconic children’s stories.” “We’re seeing strong demand for quality nostalgic content, and the Scholastic brand is trusted by families everywhere,” said Elianne Friend, VP of Digital & Distribution at 9 Story. “Future Today was the ideal partner to help us bring Scholastic’s beloved stories to new audiences. We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue expanding Scholastic Entertainment’s incredible catalog across global streaming platforms.” ©PBS The new Scholastic app is available now to download on Roku and Amazon Fire TV. 7. Who’s up for some Gyozas of the Galaxy?! Okay, wait… let’s back up a minute… Let’s eat some dumplings! Gyozas of the Galaxy is a brand new Marketplace Food Booth at the 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! True, the Festival has been in full swing for a solid month now; however, Gyozas of the Galaxy and Coastal Eats were not slated to join the lineup of the Festival Marketplace Booths until now, so we’re here to bring you our full review of this new addition to this year’s Food and Wine Festival, to add to our COMPLETE LIST of all our Food and Wine Festival reviews! Menu Just like the Food Booth itself, the Gyozas of the Galaxy menu is brand new, too. The Gyoza (or Japanese dumplings) up for grabs include Buffalo-style Dumplings, French Onion Soup-style Dumplings, and Street Corn-style Dumplings. Menu You can pair your dumplings with a Pineapple Colada or Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris. Are you ready? Me, too… let’s dig in! Eats First up, the Buffalo-style Dumplings are $6.00. The chicken dumplings are made with buffalo sauce and plated with a celery root purée, blue cheese cream, crumbled blue cheese, shaved carrot, and micro celery. We appreciated that these have a low heat, which is offset nicely by the celery root and blue cheese. The dumplings are also well done and meaty with just that hint of buffalo sauce. If you’re expecting something spicy, though, these may not be for you Not too spicy Now here’s a souped up twist for you: the French Onion Soup-style Dumplings are pork and beef soup dumplings swimming in caramelized onions, sherry-beef broth, and an onion and Gruyère soubise. The dish is garnished with Parmesan cracker and micro chives. This batch is also $6.00. Y’all…this is one to watch out for. This is like a dumpling version of French onion soup in the best way possible. Imagine your favorite French onion soup, and then put it inside a dumpling. This is SO that, and it’s SO good. It’s nice and brothy, thick and creamy, and all those flavors you already love. French onion soup-style dumplings Finally, the Street Corn-style Dumplings, despite the name, are not a vegetarian item. For $6.00, these are actually chicken dumplings with tomatillo salsa verde, street corn salad, cotija cheese, lime crema, and cilantro. This was our fave. It’s packed with a lot of that wonderful street corn filling (and it tastes like street corn), with the corn itself being nicely toasted. It’s literally elote in dumpling form. This is some Disney magic, y’all. Street Corn-style Dumplings Okay, we’ve had our fill of food, so what’s to drink? Drinks Those craving a cocktail can choose the new Pineapple Colada for $12.00. It’s made with white rum, DOLE Pineapple Juice, and sweetened coconut milk. Warning: the sweetened coconut milk tends to separate in the heat. It tastes like somebody opened up a can of pineapple juice, threw some rum in it, and that was it. We were really hoping for a more mixed colada taste, and this might have even been better as a frozen drink. However, this is the first day for this booth, so it’s still trying to find its footing…this could be better tomorrow or later on. Pineapple Colada Wine drinkers can opt for the Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris for $6.50. This was a lovely dry wine that still had a nice amount of sweetness. The dryness also doesn’t linger, making it a wine that’s easy to sip. Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris So, how are we feeling about this new addition to the Festival? OVERALL There was a pretty long line for this booth ahead of its opening, but we think this is going to be one of the more popular food booths at the festival. The dumplings are all solid, and it’s also a great spot to get a wine that’s easy to drink. We’ll be checking back in at some point to see if the cocktail improves because after all, it IS this booth’s first day (it’s just a baby, y’all). 8. Well, September is going away soon, and we’ll soon be knee deep in October, and all things fall (okay, we’re already knee deep in fall, but someone needs to tell the Orlando weather that). Nitro Cold Brew Float from Gideon’s Bakehouse So while we’re enjoying our pumpkin spice EVERYTHING, we’ve been busy revisiting some underrated restaurants, asking Disney fans about how they like to hack Magic Kingdom snacks, and ordering from the kids’ menu in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. 9. When you travel to Disneyland, do you fly? If so, you may realize you have several choices when it comes to airports. ©Visit Anaheim The obvious option is the Los Angeles International Airport, mostly because it has a lot of flights with many airlines throughout the day. However, two other airports are actually closer, including Long Beach Airport in Long Beach and John Wayne Airport in Anaheim. Well, one of those airports, John Wayne Airport, was just named the BEST. What do you think? What’s your vote for best airport? Let us know in the comments! 10. Summer is officially over, and now it’s time for Fall in Disney World! That means Halloween-themed snacks, a Halloween party, and pumpkin and apples everywhere. It also means a few new procedures, changes, and experiences have started or will be coming soon. It’s pumpkin season! Let’s take a look at these five new procedure and experience changes hitting the theme parks, so you can be prepared on your autumn trip to Disney World! End of Cool Kid Summer Cool Kid Summer officially ended on September 1st. That means LOTS of changes for the fall around Disney World. Here are a few things you can expect. Magic Kingdom Summertime dance parties at Storybook Circus and Rocket Tower Plaza Stage have both come to an end now that it’s fall in Disney World. Hey, Stitch! EPCOT CommuniCore Hall During the Cool Kid Summer event, GoofyCore took over CommuniCore at EPCOT. But now that this event is over, there’s, well, NOTHING happening inside here. 2025 Festival Favorites Food and Wine Festival BoothFor the Food and Wine Festival, you can stop by the Festival Favorites booth outside for some tasty snacks and yummy drinks. This festival goes through November 22nd. Then, when the Festival of the Holidays begins on November 28th, you’ll be able to meet SANTA at CommuniCore Hall! Meet Santa!! This meet and greet used to take place at the Odyssey, but this coming year, you will be able to find it at CommuniCore Hall daily at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:30 PM, and 5:00 PM. Phineas and Ferb During Cool Kid Summer, Phineas and Ferb were meeting guests near the park entrance. However, now that the summer event is over, you likely won’t run into this duo here anymore. Phineas and Ferb Hollywood Studios Animation Courtyard held fun games and crafts for kids this summer! However, those neat experiences are now over. More on Animation Courtyard below! Animation Courtyard While a lot of the summer fun is ending, the two new musicals that just opened this summer — Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure — will continue to bring you exciting entertainment! Animal Kingdom Cool Kid Summer also brought some fun, unique activities to Animal Kingdom. Now that fall has arrived you can no longer find the following at this park: Cook Kid Summer adventures at Rafiki’s Planet Watch Unlock a special limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge A celebration sing-along at Discovery Island Water Parks Throughout the summer, both water parks — Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach — were open. Now that it’s fall, only Typhoon Lagoon is open, while Blizzard Beach has once again closed. Blizzard Beach If you’re hoping to hit up a water park this fall, be aware that your only option is now Typhoon Lagoon. Discounts Ending A few great summer deals have now ended or will be ending soon. The following Disney World ticket and hotel deals are officially gone. 50% Off on Kids Tickets — Ended September 30th 3-Day, 3-Park Ticket — Ended September 22nd Disney+ subscriber hotel deal — Ended July 31st Florida Resident Summer Magic Tickets — Ended September 27th Animal Kingdom You can still get up to 30% off on select hotel rooms until October 11th! Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Disney Starlight is a brand new nighttime parade in Magic Kingdom. The new parade debuted this summer, but if you’re hoping to catch it this fall, you’ll need to be aware of these new procedures. Disney Starlight While the parade is available several nights of the week, it is NOT available on nights that host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (and likely the nights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party). The nights it is available, you can see it at either 8:00 PM or 10:00 PM. Disney Starlight Currently, the only date in November that has times listed for the parade (as of September 25th) is November 1st. It’s likely more dates will eventually be added, but be prepared for the parade not to happen on the select nights that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is taking place. Fantasmic! Hours As the days get shorter and night falls sooner, the times Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios performs will be changing. Starting September 27th, the show will go down from two to one performance at 9:30 PM. Fantasmic! You might catch select days with an extra showing at 8:00 PM in November, but most days only offer one showing. Also in November, days that have the Jollywood Nights event will only show Fantasmic! at 6:30 PM. The moral of the story is: this fall, your “new procedure” is to check the My Disney Experience app for the showtimes of Fantasmic! Rides and Attractions Closing Expect LOTS of Construction Walls at Hollywood Studios As of September 25th, Animation Courtyard has closed in Hollywood Studios. Along with it, the Star Wars Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play & Dance!. Lots of walls and bushes Disney is revamping this area into The Walt Disney Studios. It will open in 2026 with new experiences such as The Magic of Disney Animation and the Drawn to Wonderland Playground. ©Disney Be prepared to see lots of construction walls in Hollywood Studios as Animation Courtyard becomes The Walt Disney Studios and Muppets Courtyard becomes Monsters, Inc. Land. Another One Bites the Dust at Animal Kingdom As of September 2nd, the Boneyard in DinoLand, U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom officially closed. The Boneyard While you’re visiting DinoLand this fall, be sure to stop by Restaurantosaurus, its lounge, and the last remaining ride in DinoLand, Dinosaur while you have the chance. These, too, will be closing soon, in the coming months. Zootopia: Better Zoogether Opens The Tree of Life is getting a new show! Starting November 7th, you can see the 4D show Zootopia: Better Zoogether! “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” ©Disney If you’re heading to Disney World in the next couple of months, be prepared for these changes. You’ll get to experience brand-new attractions or say good-bye to ones you love. Exciting things are happening at Disney World! For more Disney news, keep following DFB! 11. In 2022, Disney World’s ambitious Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which was both a hotel and a Star Wars roleplaying experience, opened for the first time. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser However, the Galactic Starcruiser officially closed its doors in 2023, almost a year later. However, Disney hasn’t abandoned the building that once housed the experience — the company recently shared it would convert the building into office space for Walt Disney Imagineering. In August, Disney filed a permit to begin that conversion for “general construction.” Now, we’re starting to see signs of that construction taking place. Thanks to aerial photos by @bioreconstruct, we have a good overhead look at what’s happening at the closed Galactic Starcruiser. As you can see, equipment, dumpsters, and other signs of construction are already on the scene, although there isn’t any sign of construction happening to the exterior of the building. More likely than not, all the construction is happening inside as the area is transformed into offices. ©bioreconstruct A second close-up photo shows some orange markings on the ground, which could be for underground utilities needed for the new office space. ©bioreconstruct The Galactic Starcruiser was a pretty cool experience (and we got to enjoy the hotel when it was in its prime), but for many Star Wars fans, the cost was just a bit too high. Add that to it being a kind of “one and done” thing, Disney pretty much considered it a failed experiment, although Imagineering has plans to use what it learned for future experiences in Disney Parks. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Atrium It’s nice to see some movement on the ground around the space, and I’m personally happy that Disney didn’t abandon the building. If it keeps much of the original theme, it’s going to be some of the most EPIC office space ever created, but that would be pretty much PERFECT for the creative minds that work for Walt Disney Imagineering, right? 12. Disney is revamping parts of Hollywood Studios, including Muppets Courtyard and Animation Courtyard. Muppets Courtyard closed on June 7th, while Animation Courtyard just recently closed on September 25th. The area that was once Muppets Courtyard will become Monsters, Inc. Land, and Animation Courtyard will be The Walt Disney Studios upon reopening in 2026. Animation Courtyard With these areas of the park closed, there are now 10 attractions you will no longer be able to experience. New attractions will be coming soon, but in the meantime, we’ll all need to get used to seeing construction walls. Star Wars Launch Bay Star Wars Launch Bay was located in Animation Courtyard. It was a walk-through exhibit of sorts that featured attractions dedicated to the Star Wars franchise. With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge located at Hollywood Studios, this closure was a long time coming. The following experiences are all now closed inside the Launch Bay. Star Wars Launch Bay Meet & Greets Chewbacca and BB-8 Guests were able to meet Chewbacca and BB-8 at Star Wars Launch Bay. If you want to meet Chewbacca, head to Galaxy’s Edge where he likes to hang out near the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Considering he may be the best Millennium Falcon pilot, this is the perfect spot for him. The Chewbacca meet-and-greet at Star Wars Launch Bay is now closed. For other Star Wars characters, Galaxy’s Edge is the place to go. Visa Meet & Greet Darth Vader was previously meeting at Star Wars Launch Bay as part of the Visa meet-and-greet. Disney Visa cardmembers had to show their Visa card and then were able to meet the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Darth Vader at Star Wars Launch Bay in Hollywood Studios Darth Vader has now relocated to the outdoor queue area of Star Tours for meet ups with other Siths…ah, fans. Launch Bay Theater Launch Bay Theater showed a short video that took a look behind the scenes of the Star Wars saga. Key movie crew members, including directors, writers, producers, and more talked about bringing the saga to life. Launch Bay Theater is now closed Unfortunately, fans can no longer see any shows in this theater (at least for now and certainly anything Star Wars related). Themed Galleries Star Wars Launch Bay featured three immersive galleries that showcased various props and displays. The Celebration Gallery showed off iconic ships from the saga, Celebration Hallway displayed large-scale replicas of props with cool movie murals, and the Preview Gallery gave you a look at replica props, artifacts, and memorabilia from the most recent movies and shows. Launch Bay gallery Shopping Launch Bay Cargo is also now closed. You used to be able to purchase lots of Star Wars merchandise here, including artwork and collector’s items. Launch Bay Cargo You could design your own MagicBand+ and phone case, build a droid, and see R2-D2. Luckily, there are LOTS of Star Wars items for purchase at Galaxy’s Edge. Star Wars Launch Bay is being reimagined as The Magic of Disney Animation, which sounds really cool! ©Disney Disney Jr. Play and Dance! Also located within Animation Courtyard was Disney Jr. Play and Dance. This kids’ dance party attraction has also closed with Animation Courtyard. Disney Junior Play and Dance Disney has shared that this location will reopen with new entertainment, but details on what that might entail specifically are still unknown. It may be a kid-friendly spot like Disney Jr. Play and Dance, or it might not. Muppet*Vision 3D Muppet*Vision 3D closed in June along with Muppet Courtyard, but we’re still not over it. You won’t be seeing this silly, witty 3D show anymore this year, either. In fact, you won’t be seeing it at all, as its permanent closure was to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. land. Muppet*Vision building construction Monsters, Inc. Land and The Walt Disney Studios will be exciting new additions to Hollywood Studios. But even if we’re excited for these new spots, we’re still sad to see these others go. If you’re heading to the park soon, be aware that these attractions are no longer available. 13. Disney World has had a BUSY year in 2025. The Rivers of America and Muppet*Vision 3D have closed to make way for construction on Piston Peak and Monsters, Inc., while GEO-82 and The Beak and Barrel have opened. Once Upon a Christmastime Parade With only a few months left in the year, it would be tempting to think that things are calming down. However, there are still some BUSY times left on the Disney World calendar in 2025. Can you believe we’re telling you to avoid going to Disney World? We love the theme parks but we love making the theme parks as magical as possible even more. One way to make your trip even better is to try and avoid the crowds so here’s 31 days you need to consider before booking another trip to Orlando this year! The end of summer has provided a slight respite from crowds, which will end when Columbus Day Week rolls around on October 10th–18th, 2025. These crowds will blend into the runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon that takes place from October 23rd-26th, 2025. The runDisney crowds show up and show out to run the race and support their friends in the race and it will be noticeable in the lines! runDisney signage! Moving into November, Thanksgiving Week is from November 21st–28th, 2025. If you want to celebrate the things you’re thankful for, Disney World is certainly a place to do it! We love grabbing some dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern around this time (if we can get a reservation.) In the past we’ve also seen some special desserts and snacks during this week. You can have a Thanksgiving feast year-round at Liberty Tree Tavern The holidays are still rolling through with Christmas week from December 18th–25th, 2025. The holidays in Disney World are so special! The different decor, snacks, and holiday parties are something special to experience in the parks but you’ll be fighting through the groups to do it. If we’re being honest, we think it’s okay if you want to fight the crowds on any of these dates but especially for Christmas. Christmas tree in Magic Kingdom To wrap up 2025, you might want to avoid New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. EPCOT and Magic Kingdom both hold special fireworks on these nights. EPCOT in particular really shows out with silent dance parties, DJs, and more! It’s such a fun time as long as you don’t mind knocking elbows with the families next to you. EPCOT New Year’s Eve celebrations It’s important to know if you’re heading to the parks on any of these dates, that’s totally okay! Just be prepared to have some fun and wait a bit longer in some lines. 2025 has been an exciting one for Disney World and we can’t wait to be there for it all. 18. There are a lot of underrated restaurants in Disney World, and we do our best to visit them often to bump up the hype around them — they deserve all the love in our book! Cheesy Crab Wontons at Nine Dragons One of the most overlooked restaurants in EPCOT, one of the best parks for dining in Disney World, in our opinion, is over in the China Pavilion. Nine Dragons Restaurant is a table service spot that often has plenty of reservation availability, and it’s rare that we’ve been disappointed here. To convince you to dine at this spot, we’ve gotta share with you the incredible deal that’s just been EXTENDED at the restaurant — the three-course prix-fixe lunch menu has been extended through October 14th! Many weeks ago, Nine Dragons Restaurant announced that their three-course lunch prix-fixe meal would be extended through August 31st, but it appears it’s been SO popular that now it’s been extended again through October 14th! ©Disney This prix fixe meal includes your choice of one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert, and it’s available from 12-4 PM each day. This restaurant features Pan-Asian cuisine with Cantonese, Mongolian, Szechuan, Hunan, and Kiangche-style dishes. Most recently, some of our favorite items on this menu have been the Sichuan Shui Zhu Beef, House-Made Cheesy Crab Wontons, and the Kowloon Spare Ribs. Sichuan Shui Zhu Beef While we’ve heard many people say that the dining options here are just like your local Chinese restaurant back home, we feel like this is certainly more elevated. Is it a meal that’s going to completely knock your socks off and make you turn your back on every other restaurant in the park? Maybe not, but if you’re a fan of this style of dining, we say it’s worth a try! Meal at Nine Dragons When you arrive at the restaurant, be sure to inquire with your server about this prix-fixe meal! 19. We’ve visited some of the best Disney World hotel lounges, but there’s a hidden gem tucked away in one of the furthest corners you won’t see coming. While it’s true there are phenomenal lounges to explore around Disney World’s hotels closer to most of the parks, this is one we promise will be worth your while to go out of your way for! Victoria Falls Lounge We recently stopped by Victoria Falls Lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Jambo House to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Victoria Falls is a fairly open space where its patrons can sample suds from South Africa before or after dinner inside this intimate bar overlooking Boma Restaurant just below it. It’s also known to serve a host of South African wines here, all of which can be enjoyed in the flickering ambience of the fire pit outside. Victoria Falls Lounge While it’s small, there is a decent-sized bar with chairs stationed around it, as well as some plush lounge seating where you can opt to dine and relax for a while. Lounge space But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The online menu will be very limited and only list the drinks available for pickup here. It’s made up of specialty cocktails, mocktails, a selection of beers, and a variety of wine options, including sparkling, rosé, red, and white wines, as well as wine flights. Drinks menu Lounge fare is served from 5 to 10 PM, and the menu can be reviewed upon your arrival at the lounge. Lounge menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Spiced Goat Cheese Dip for $10, which is served with Assorted Bread. Spiced Goat Cheese Right from the start, we noticed how big the serving size was for $10! There were plenty of pieces of bread, and lots of cheese to go around. It came with two types of bread, including one that reminded us of a puffy, Brazilian cheese bread, but in a different shape. One of our reporters thought it reminded them of pizza crust with the cheese on top! The other cracker was thin and snapped easily, providing a great crunch. This dish, overall, was hearty, and there was so much to share, which really put us in the mood to start our meal. It also had bacon crumbles and honey, which pair perfectly with goat cheese. Spiced Goat Cheese We also grabbed the Cape Town Slap Chips for $13. This comes with Fried Potatoes, Arugula, Apricots, Sherry Vinaigrette, and Blue Cheese Crumbles. Cape Town Slap Chips Who doesn’t love a bowl of crispy potatoes? These chips had a perfect crispy outside and a creamy inside and were fried to perfection. The blue cheese comes in tiny crumbles, so it’s not overwhelming, and the arugula provides a peppery taste. We had to search for the dried, chopped apricots, but once we found them, they added a fun pop of sweetness. We were originally expecting something similar to loaded fries with melted cheese, but this was more chips with a crumble of topping, which was a fun take on the dish. Cape Town Slap Chips We also couldn’t pass up the chance to try the Braai Burger and Seasoned Chips for $22. This is made with Chaka Jam, Green Tomato Pickle, and Peri Peri Aioli. Braai Burger We’ve tried many burgers at Disney World, and this is a fun and unique version of the traditional burger. The patty was thick and very tender, packed with flavor due to its high-fat content. It came on a brioche bun with two layers of Munster cheese, which we don’t often see. Instead of a pickle, there was a pickled green tomato, and the aioli and jam gave it sweetness. If you prefer a classic mustard and ketchup hamburger, this might be a little too far out there, but if you want an upscale version of your favorites, this can be a way to go. The burger reminded us of the ones at Steakhouse 71 and Tiffins, two places we enjoy very much. This was the most exotic version of the three, which we like to see at Animal Kingdom Lodge! Braai Burger Drinks To drink, we picked up the Spiced Chai Colada for $16.50. This is made with SelvaRey Coconut Rum, Sōmrus Chai Cream Liqueur, DOLE Pineapple Juice. Spiced Chai Colada If you enjoy White Russians, Piña Coladas, and chai, this drink is a combination of all three. The most prominent flavor is coconut, followed by chai, with pineapple adding a subtle sweetness in the background. This is a rich drink that pairs perfectly with dessert. We found it to be both interesting and complex, and chai lovers are sure to be obsessed with this. We also appreciated the taste of warm spices, which remind us of the holidays, but in a cold, refreshing drink, perfect for Florida. We also had the Baobab 75 for $17.50 made with Bayab African Rose Gin, Graham Beck Brut Rosé, Lemon Juice, and Pure Cane Syrup. Baobab 75 This is the lounge’s take on a French 75. It’s very floral, and we loved the bubbles, which gave it a great “crisp” feeling. When you take your sip, the rose from the gin will be the first flavor, followed by the acidity from the lemon juice, with the floral notes in the background, which taste like lavender. The syrup in it added a hint of sweetness, but it wasn’t overpowering. If you love a floral drink, this is a great option, and we loved the pretty, pink color. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a great spot to have a drink and an appetizer before heading to a larger dinner or hanging around the resort You like interesting cocktails and appetizers that are shareable and affordable You’re staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge or will already be at the resort You should skip this Disney World spot if… You don’t want to go out of your way to travel to Animal Kingdom Lodge, since you won’t be able to park there without a reservation for another restaurant You want more casual, family-friendly dining You prefer comfortable dishes and drinks that you are already familiar with Overall What a hit! We really enjoyed our visit to the Victoria Falls Lounge and thought it was a nice escape from the chaos of the theme parks. While Animal Kingdom Lodge can be a little difficult to reach if you aren’t staying there, if you’re already there, this can be a great place to add to your itinerary. We loved how affordable and shareable the appetizers were, and we thought the cocktails were interesting and complex. If you’re looking for a lounge that exudes a relaxing atmosphere with excellent dining options, Victoria Falls Lounge is an excellent choice. 20. We’re always keeping our eyes peeled for the latest and greatest Disney snacks in Disneyland Resort, and if you’re visiting Disney California Adventure soon and love cheese to the max, boy, have we got the meal for you! Ready to eat some pizza? Over at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, there’s an interesting new option available, and we weren’t totally sure what to expect from it. To our surprise, if you love mac and cheese and don’t mind a little spice, this is a must-grab snack! At this spot in Paradise Gardens, you can grab the new Spicy Pasta Pizza. One slice will cost you $9.49, or you can grab a whole pizza for $53.99, and it’s made with Andouille Sausage, Ditalini Pasta, Tomato & Vodka Cream Sauce and Fresh Basil. Spicy Pasta Pizza Sign This gave us some mac and cheese vibes with a little spice! The pasta didn’t add much other than some texture, and some bites of it was a bit burnt and had a crunch, but for the most part, it had a normal texture. A look at the (almost) whole pizza The main flavors here came from tomato and vodka sauce, giving it a creamy flavor with hints of fresh tomato. The spice was pretty light and most of it seemed to come from the sausage — we personally wish they had used a little more of it, but if you’re not a big fan of spice, it’ll likely be the perfect amount for you. If you’re looking for something cheesy and don’t mind a bit of spice, we’d recommend this! A closer look at the pasta Looking for more recent Disneyland news? Check out our posts below! 21. You may have heard us warn you that lines for EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival can get pretty long, but maybe you haven’t seen it firsthand yet. Crowds! Weekends are the worst for festival lines, and we know what you’re thinking — “I wait in line for hours for Disney World rides all the time, they can’t be that bad, right?” Well, we don’t want to tell you you’re WRONG…but just take a look at these WILD lines in EPCOT today, and tell us if you’ve changed your mind. As if that wasn’t intense enough, we also swung by Les Halles, which doesn’t have any special items for the festival, it’s just a popular dining spot on most days, and the line started out the door. Pack your patience, this one’s going to take a while. This Les Halles line is INTENSE Overall, the France Pavilion was PACKED as a whole during peak mealtime, and we were happy to scoot through quickly and move onto our next location, but alas, we noticed the Italy festival booth line was packed as well. This one is especially interesting to us because, well, let’s just say the Italy booth isn’t often the most popular or solid booth at the festivals. It’s not terrible this year, but it’s still not one of our favorites. The line for the Italy Booth If you’re heading to the park to experience the festival and feel a little lost on where to start and what are the best items to grab (as well as which ones you may want to stay away from), check out our DFB Guide to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! 22. Disney World is undergoing quite a few changes right now. Construction is underway for Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Piston Peak National Park in Magic Kingdom, and the Monsters, Inc. Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As a result, several attractions are permanently closed in Disney World. Plus, other attractions and experiences are also closed for refurbishment! Construction Walls in Animation Courtyard We don’t want to be caught off guard or surprised if your favorite attraction or location is having a planned closure. So we are rounding up all the closures that are happening this week in Disney World! Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from September 27th through October 4th, at Disney World. EPCOT Spaceship Earth Spaceship Earth has been closed for routine refurbishment since August 25th, 2025. While it will only be a temporary closure as the attraction is expected to reopen later this year, it will still be a few months or so without Spaceship Earth. Spaceship Earth We aren’t expecting any major changes to the attraction, just general maintenance and routine work. During this time, the Project Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future exhibit will be closed, as well. It is definitely going to be sad experiencing the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival without being able to ride Spaceship Earth, though. These Disney Adult EPCOT Hacks Are Getting Out of Control Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has closed for refurbishment as of August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! Closed for Refurbishment Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We recently got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are closed for good to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and we have seen workers on Tom Sawyer Island. The river has also started to be drained! Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and will be themed to look like a National Park. Disney Fans Share Photos After “Hacking” 5 Magic Kingdom Menu Items Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Recently, Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! NEW Photos of Magic Kingdom’s Cars Land Transformation Disney’s Animal Kingdom TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, and The Boneyard The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The Boneyard will be permanently closed on September 2nd. Pueblo Esperanza Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, and the snack stands are still open, but Disney recently announced the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing for good on February 2nd, 2026. It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now closed to make way for a new show. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Construction Walls It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut on November 7th, 2025. The show begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities, where you’ll spot some new and familiar faces, including Heidi Howler, a wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. The Retro Animal Kingdom Shirt from Amazon Everyone Will Be Wearing to Disney World Disney’s Hollywood Studios Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. Construction walls in Animation Courtyard This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. The Muppet*Vision sign has been covered! Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. FIRST LOOK: Disney Just Permanently CLOSED Part of Hollywood Studios Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach has been closed since September 8th, 2025! While it has been wonderful having BOTH Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time this summer (which was the first time this has happened in YEARS), that has now come to an end. Blizzard Beach is now closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach Have no fear, though, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open! REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf If you are planning on playing some miniature golf during your Disney World trip, you have some options. You can head over to Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Gold or Winter Summerland Miniature. However, if you are headed over to Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf, one of the courses will be closed for refurbishment. Fantasia Mini Golf Course From September 9th to November 7th, 2025, the Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf course will be undergoing refurbishment. While it is closed, the Fantasia Gardens course will remain open, but guests won’t be able to reserve tee times (guests will tee off on a first-come, first-served basis). That still leaves you three courses to explore between the one at Fantasia Gardens & Fairways and the two courses at Winter Summerland! Disney World Hotels Fantasia Kiddie Pool — Disney’s All-Star Movies The Fantasia kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort has been closed for maintenance since September 8th. The pool is expected to be closed through late October, but Disney hasn’t announced a specific reopening date yet. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort While the Fantasia kiddie pool is closed, the Fantasia Feature Pool and Duck Pond Pool will remain open, and guests staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort are welcome to use the kiddie pools at Disney’s All-Star Music and Disney’s All-Star Sports. The Samawati Springs Pool Slide — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Starting on September 8th, the Samawati Springs Pool Slide will be closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village for routine maintenance. Disney hasn’t announced a date for when the slide will reopen. Samawati Springs Pool If you’re staying at the resort, there will still be another water slide option for you to enjoy at the Uzima Springs Pool! ONLY the slide at The Samawati Springs Pool will be closed; you can still use the pool, just not the slide. You just may see or hear construction at work. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. 23. Imagine this: you’re all ready to go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom. You bought your tickets months ago, and it’s the day of the party. Magic Kingdom at night during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party But this is Florida, and that means weather can sneak up on you. Imagine that it rains so much during the party that it affects pretty much ALL of the party activities, including the fireworks, parade, and all outdoor rides. Well, if rain ruins your Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party experience, Disney WILL make it up to you, which is what happened to us this week. So here’s what happens when rain all but ruins an extra ticketed event like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You’ll get a rain check, which will pop up as a message on your My Disney Experience app. You’ll be notified that your event ticket has been automatically converted to a 1-day with park hopper ticket valid for up to one year. Note that this ticket does require a park pass reservation. ©Disney Of course, this may not be ideal if you had your heart set on experiencing everything Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has to offer. But it is an extra day to visit the parks, so there’s that, right? Of course, if that’s not ideal, you can always visit Guest Services and see if you have other options (like visiting the party another evening, if it’s not sold out). However, this is what we were given this week when our party was essentially rained out. Jack Skellington and Sally at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Note that you’re only entitled to compensation if weather causes significant issues at the party. If it’s just a light drizzle or rain, the party will keep on going, so you’ll want to make sure you check the forecast before you head to Magic Kingdom (and bring a raincoat or poncho, if you might need it). 24. Disney gives us announcements regularly, and some make bigger news than others. Don’t let these 4 announcements catch you by surprise on your next Disney World vacation! Magic Kingdom When it comes to planning a Disney World vacation, the big announcements usually steal the spotlight — new rides, festivals, or resort openings. But sometimes it’s the quieter changes that end up making the biggest difference in your trip. Disney has been rolling out a handful of under-the-radar changes that could impact the way you plan your next visit. Here are four announcements you might not have noticed, but definitely need to know about before your next trip. 1. Booking Your Disney Room One of the less-talked-about changes coming in 2026 is Disney’s decision to simplify the room categories at its Moderate resorts. Instead of dozens of view-based names (garden view, water view, pool view, etc.), rooms will be grouped into just “Standard” or “Preferred” categories. The goal is to make check-in smoother and reduce confusion over which view or building you’re booking. Port Orleans — French Quarter That said, special rooms like the “Royal Guest Room” at Disney’s Port Orleans–Riverside will remain as a more premium option beyond the new standard categories. And while room features and floors/building requests will still be possible, they’ll be less formally categorized. For travelers, this means when you book in 2026, you’ll see fewer technical room view names and more intuitive options, though your ability to request a specific area remains, just without the old naming structure. The New Rules You Have To Follow in Disney World Hotels Port Orleans — Riverside Room 2. A Notable Change for Festival of the Holidays Neil Patrick Harris has been a fan favorite narrator of EPCOT’s EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Candlelight Processional for many years, drawing guests who book their trip around his performance dates. But in 2025, he won’t be on the lineup — he’s off on Broadway. That’s a big shift for people who specifically plan their holiday visits to hear him. Neil Patrick Harris at The Candlelight Processional in Disney World ©Disney The 2025 narrator roster includes new and returning names like Jennifer Garner, Brie Larson, Henry Winkler, Marlee Matlin, Gary Sinise, and more. Candlelight Processional itself runs during EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays (November 28th to December 30th), and combines orchestral music, choir, and a celebrity narrator telling the Christmas story. For 2025, losing Harris’s name might shift some audience expectations and could open more demand for other narrators’ dates. Celebrity Narrators for Candlelight Processional 2025 at EPCOT Candlelight Processional 3. This Perk is Being Limited Disney Resort hotel guests used to enjoy a perk where they could visit a water park on their check-in day for free. This year, the benefit has been available all year. But moving forward, that perk is being scaled back: it’s confirmed to return, but only during summer 2026 (not year-round). Typhoon Lagoon Here’s how it’ll work: when you arrive at your Disney resort, you’ll be able to head to one of the water parks, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, if it’s summer, your reservation is valid, and the parks are open. The change could be driven by the fact that off-season months often have park closures or reduced hours, so offering the perk year-round wasn’t always reliable for guests. For planners, this means if you arrive outside of summer in 2026, you shouldn’t count on that free splash day as part of your stay. Blizzard Beach 4. You Don’t Have to Wait Until 2027 for Something NEW at Disney’s Animal Kingdom A new show is joining Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Zootopia: Better Zoogether! will debut on November 7, 2025, in the Tree of Life Theater on Discovery Island. It replaces It’s Tough to Be a Bug!, which closed in March 2025. While major changes are coming in 2027 with the opening of the Tropical Americas area, this will give us something new at this park to hold on to until then! ©Disney The show will be a 3D experience that celebrates Zoogether Day, with favorite characters like Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde returning, and a new host character named Heidi Howler leading the show. Expect surprises, interactive elements, and a fresh visual style designed to bring the world of Zootopia to life in the heart of the park. For fans of Disney’s animal-themed storytelling, this is one of those announcements that reshapes the lineup and gives new incentive to revisit Animal Kingdom. Everything We Know About Zootopia: Better Zoogether! A new show inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Zootopia” will debut next winter in Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. @Disney For more Disney World news, be sure to follow us at DFB! 5 Very Specific Disney World Mini-Guides Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox!
