We have SNACK NEWS in Disney World, which means here at Disney Food Blog, we’re pulling on party hats and throwing streamers because that means there are new menus to try. Terra Treats snacks In Animal Kingdom, there’s been a lot of menu shifts and changes with the permanent closures of Dino Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites and the temporary closure of Harambe Market, which is planning on taking over some menu items from its fallen DinoLand U.S.A. restaurants. Now we’re seeing even more changes coming our way! Terra Treats and the Smiling Crocodile have finally reopened with new menu items. Let’s take a look at what your newfound favorite snacks are going to be. Terra Treats At Terra Treats, you can grab: Columbian-style Hot Dog for $12.99 Plant-based Colombian-style Hot Dog for $12.99 Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava Juice Limeade with Chili-Lime Seasoning for $6.29 Coca-Cola Fountain Beverages for $4.79 DASANI Bottled Water for $4.25 Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava Juice Limeade with Chili-Lime Seasoning and Tequila for $15.50 Terra Treats menu We started with the Plant-based Columbian-style Hot Dog for $12.99, which is topped with Salsa Verde, Mayonnaise-Ketchup, Pineapple Sauce, and Crushed Chips served with Kettle Chips. Plant-Based Columbian-Style Hot Dog Our plant-based reporter loved this meal. If you loved the Plant-Based Slaw Dog from Casey’s Corner that has been removed from the menu, this might be one to take its place. While not exactly the same, it’s equally as delicious. It tastes deeply seasoned and is cooked to keep it juicy, unlike many plant-based sausages we’re used to eating. With great taste and juicy texture, it was really the sauces that made us go wild about it. The salsa verde is creamy, bright, and tastes like it has cilantro and a touch of lime in it. The mayonnaise-ketchup topping was also creamy, and when you take a bite of everything together, the flavors were harmonious. Each element can stand on its own, but put together, it feels completely new. The crushed potato chips on top added a crunch along with a bite of salt, and we were impressed by how well all the toppings stayed on the hot dog. We couldn’t taste the pineapple sauce, which we were looking forward to, but we loved the light spice or warmth from the hot dog. While it might be too much for some if you don’t like spicy food, it was just the right amount for us. Even though it reminds us of the Slaw Dog, it still feels fresh and exciting, and we can tell how much effort the chefs put into creating an equal plant-based version. As our reporter said, “In a park full of foods I love, this one’s a standout,” and as a team that literally eats Disney food every single day, that’s a big compliment! Look at all of those toppings! We also had the Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava Juice Limeade with Chili-Lime Seasoning for $6.29, made with Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava Juice, Minute Maid Limeade, and Watermelon, all with a Chili-Lime Rim. Refreshing This is a fun take on our POG juice, which is usually made with pineapple instead of passion fruit. We loved it when fixed with limeade to add a subtle tartness. The watermelon settles to the bottom and needs to be mixed in, so don’t forget to grab a straw to get the ultimate flavor adventure. Its flavor profile is incredible, with tropical fruits providing a jungle vibe and lime and watermelon offering more familiar tastes. together, it’s like a fruit punch but unique compared to others we’ve had. It’s refreshing and sweet, not overly candy-like, and grounded by real fruit juice. It tastes like a treat without being over-the-top decadent — you could still enjoy a cupcake afterward without regret. The nonalcoholic version only has the chili-lime seasoning rim on half the cup, which we preferred. While we appreciated the additional salty, spicy lime element, we also enjoyed the juice and might ask for it without the rim next time. While we didn’t try the alcoholic version, we thought it was neat that it was made with tequila instead of rum! Chili lime salt rim The Smiling Crocodile also opened with a new menu! You can now grab: Pulled Pork Cheese Arepa for $13.49 Pulled Chicken Cheese Arepa for $13.49 Coca-Cola Fountain Beverages for $4.79 DASANI Bottled Water for $4.25 Bud Light Lager Draft for $10 Island Sunrise for $15.50 The Smiling Crocodile We can’t wait to go back and get our hands on some arepas! We’ll really be living our Encanto dreams once we have arepas in one hand and we’re strolling through Puebla Esperanza, the new tropical Americas-themed land coming to replace DinoLand. The Smiling Crocodile is currently open 11 AM to 3 PM, so you’ll want to time your snacking right to be able to grab these fun treats. Workers have been hard at work on Disney World’s newest hotel, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge. The new Disney Vacation Club hotel will be located on the former home of Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art ©Disney We have been keeping a close eye on the construction progress, and @bioreconstruct recently posted some exciting new photos. The hotel has really started taking shape, and we can also see the NEW POOL! It is hard to beat a day sitting poolside at your Disney World hotel, so we are excited to see the pool begin to take shape. The new hotel is expected to open in 2027, so we still have a while before it is completed. However, watching the hotel be built is always fun! The new photos from @bioreconstruct even give us a glimpse at the hotel’s pool. It is in the early stages of being built, but we can see it nestled in between the wings of the hotel. via @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter You can also get a different view of the pool area from a photo looking straight down at the hotel. Guests might even be able to relax in the pool while watching Magic Kingdom’s fireworks! We’ve tried THOUSANDS of snacks in Disney World, and while that is a lot, some special ones stick with us for a long time. Mickey Chocolate Choux We’re always checking out the latest seasonal treats while revisiting the classics, and our experiences with these snacks have fueled our passion for Disney food — so much so that we are obsessed with sharing our thoughts and pictures with YOU, our followers! With that in mind, sometimes we’ll share a Disney snack pic that people seem to really latch onto… which happened with an underrated hotel snack at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! The next time you visit Disney World, you may want to plan a stop at the Grand Floridian so you can visit Gasparilla Island Grill. This quick service spot serves your typical sandwiches, burgers, and flatbreads, but they also have a pretty impressive bakery case filled with unique treats. Gasparilla Island Grill But one of our favorite treats from Gasparilla is the Mickey Chocolate Choux. When we shared this treat on Instagram, the post BLEW UP. Seriously, people were oohing and ahhing over this thing! It’s so cute! And honestly, we can’t blame them — it’s so cute! It’s $7.29 and made with chocolate pâte a choux filled with chocolate chantilly cream. The choux is incredibly soft, and the cream is thick and delicious. The whole thing is a chocolate lover’s dream. So much filling goodness! My goodness, our mouths are watering just thinking about it! We also wouldn’t necessarily complain if they brought back that adorable Snowman Choux for the holidays either! It’s SO PERFECT Not a chocolate person? Gasparilla Island Grill has some other banger items that we love, such as the House-Made Macaroni & Cheese ($9.29) and the seasonal treats you can snag around certain holidays! You can get something quick and easy, something more middle-of-the-road, or you can go upscale and luxurious. We are here to help with reviews of every dining spot in Disney World, so you can find out if it is the right choice for you and your family! City Works eats We recently stopped by City Works Eatery & Pour House at Disney Springs, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere You can find City Works Eatery & Pour House on the West Side of Disney Springs. It is at the end right near the theater for Cirque du Soleil: Drawn to Life. City Works Eatery & Pour House is not unique to Disney Springs, and the restaurant actually has 7 locations across the United States in Pennsylvania, Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Florida. City Works Eatery and Pour House City Works offers an extensive craft beer list, served alongside classic American food with chef-driven twists. The restaurant has a lively and relaxed atmosphere, and sports fans will be right at home with numerous TVs located throughout the restaurant. You can catch the game and enjoy a tasty meal with craft beer! The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as plenty of bar seating. Sports bar with a HUGE craft beer list But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu at City Works Eatery & Pour House is pretty extensive — in both food options and especially alcoholic drink options. You can choose from some bar bites like Cheese Curds or Pretzel Bites. ©Disney There are also quite a few options for food that is great for sharing. You can get Buffalo Chicken Dip, Spicy Shrimp, and Crab Fondue. ©Disney You can also choose from soup & salad options like 1871 Chili or a Chicken Chopped Salad. ©Disney The menu also has three options for tacos, and lots of options for burgers & handhelds. ©Disney You can also choose from mains like Seared Salmon, Smoked Meatloaf, and Fish & Chips. There are also options for pasta. ©Disney The menu also features a smoked section, where you can get a Pulled Pork Sandwich, Smoked BBQ Platter, or Smoked BBQ Ribs. There are also options for bowls like a Tuna Poke Bowl or a Thai Chili Noodle Bowl. ©Disney City Works also offers kids meals like Pizza, Mac and Cheese, or Grilled Cheese. ©Disney There are also options for sides like tater tots, creamed corn, and mashed potatoes. ©Disney Of course, make sure you leave some room for dessert! City Works offers a couple of delicious sounding ones like Churro Pretzel Bites and a Fried Strawberry Cheesecake. ©Disney Now that we have gone over the food options, buckle up for the extensive list of beers and other alcoholic beverages! Don’t know what to pick? You can also choose from a variety of beer flights or make your own from any of City Works’ beers. ©Disney If beer isn’t really your thing, City Works also has a menu of Mules and Specialty Cocktails. ©Disney As well as Frozen Cocktails and Wine on Tap. ©Disney There is even an option for Prosecco! ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we got the Duck Nachos for $21.95. These are made with pulled confit duck, pepper jack cheese sauce, pickled jalapeños, smoked tomatoes, red onion, white beans, avocado, micro cilantro, queso fresco, and wonton chips. We LOVED that these were made with wonton chips — they made the nachos a bit lighter and airier, if that makes sense. The duck was a bit on the dry side, but the flavor was excellent, especially paired with the pepper jack cheese sauce — which we wished there had been more of. You got a bit of heat from the queso, but nothing too crazy. The jalapeños, on the other hand, added quite a bit of spiciness to the nachos. You could eat around them if you don’t like spicy, but the juices also spread a bit. Duck Nachos The red onions added a good, crisp, fresh, and tangy flavor. The tomatoes added a nice freshness to the dish. The beans made this dish feel a bit more hearty and satisfying. The freshness from the cilantro on top was fantastic as well. Overall, we think $22 for this is quite expensive. We did enjoy it, but we wish the duck was not as dry and there were more of the toppings. These were a treat Next, we had the Smokehouse Combo with Three Meats, which is $33.95. We chose chicken wings, hot links, and pulled pork with baked beans and mashed potatoes. This is definitely more than enough for one person. Overall, the meats were very dry; however, the sauces definitely helped a lot! The hot link was our favorite, and while it wasn’t super juicy, it was not as dry as the pulled pork. The sauces they have are: Classic BBQ, Mustard BBQ, Mango Habanero, and Spicy Chipotle BBQ. The star of the plate was definitely the Spicy Maple Baked Beans. The wings had a very smoky flavor on the outside. The meat inside was a bit dry, but some of the fattier parts were much juicier. These definitely tasted best when dipped in one of the sauces! Smokehouse Combo with Three meats The hot link was our favorite of the meats. It had a good snap to it and was somewhat juicy. It had some spices in the meat that gave it a bit of a kick. We also really like the slight char it had on the outside. Added a slight bit of texture to the hot link. Unfortunately, the pulled pork was very dry. It was hard to even cut, but dipping it in sauce helped quite a bit. We were definitely hoping it would be more juicy, though. It had a bit of smokiness to it, and you get a decent serving of meat. Hot links The beans are on the sweeter side with a hint of spice to them. They are like baked beans taken to another level. The sauce was sticky and flavorful, the beans were soft, and there was also some bacon added in. They also had a bit of smokiness to them. Baked Beans The mashed potatoes were fluffy and had a great amount of buttery flavor to them. They were smooth and a great compliment to the plate. A solid classic mashed potato. Nothing that made them stand out, but still delicious and perfect if you are a fan of mashed potatoes Mashed potatoes There were four different sauces served with the platter: Classic BBQ: Sweet and smoky. This one probably had the least amount of heat of all the spices. It was a great compliment to the meats, adding a bit of juiciness. Classic BBQ sauce flavor. Mustard BBQ: This one tasted like a spiced mustard. This was probably my second-favorite sauce. It had a slight bit of sweetness, but the main flavors were the mustard and spices. Mango Habanero: Our favorite of the dipping sauces! It was sweet with a bit of kick to it. You can definitely taste the sweetness of the mango, and then the habanero sneaks in for some added spice. Spicy Chipotle BBQ: This one tastes like a classic BBQ sauce with a bit more heat to it. It wasn’t a burning-your-mouth kind of heat, but it added a bit of a kick. (edited) Barbecue sauces Finally, for dessert, we got the Peanut Butter Snickers Pie for $11.95. It is made with an Oreo cookie crust, peanut butter mousse, Snickers, whipped cream, caramel, and chocolate sauce. Peanut Butter Snickers Pie In addition to being stunning, this was also an incredibly delicious dessert. The peanut butter mousse was on top of a crumbly, crispy Oreo cookie crust. The mousse was then topped with crushed Snickers bars and finished with whipped cream. The plate was decorated with chocolate and caramel drizzle. It may not look huge, but it fills you up fast. The mousse was more similar to a cheesecake filling, not super light and airy, but rather a bit thicker. So silky smooth So, is City Works worth a stop when you’re at Disney Springs? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for sports bar vibes when you’re in Disney World. You’re after a spot that has a LOT of craft beer options. You need a spot to watch lots of sports games. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a more “Disney” experience — you won’t find that here. You want a quieter, more intimate dining experience. You’re looking for a character meal or something your kiddos will really be into. Overall We really enjoyed our meal here this time around! Some improvements could be made, but overall, this is an underrated spot with some solid eats. The restaurant definitely has the sports bar vibe with some huge screens in the middle of the dining room and various bar areas. The noise level wasn’t bad at all when we were there, but the restaurant was probably only 25% full. We could see it getting pretty loud if a big game is going on or it’s later in the evening. This would be a great spot if you love beer, with lots of options, and it’s also a great place to catch a game. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive, and the food came out pretty quickly. We do feel like it is a bit expensive for what you get, but the menu has a lot of variety, so it could also be good for families that want lots of options. It’s almost time for a new Disney World attraction to open, and we can tell it’s going to make Animal Kingdom even more wild! ©Disney Zootopia: Better Zoogether is prepped to open on November 7th, 2025, and Disney has been slowly revealing more and more in the lead-up. They recently revealed the new attraction poster, and now, we’re ready to dress for the occasion thanks to the newest merchandise line! Starting on November 7th, Discovery Trading Company will be the home of a new “koala-ty” merchandise collection! The new collection celebrates all things Zootopia: Better Zoogether. You can find tons of new items like a new tie-dye purple t-shirt… ©Disney …a new Loungefly… ©Disney … a shirt showing off our love for Gazelle… ©Disney … a cozy crew neck and youth party animal hat… ©Disney … and a new water bottle! ©Disney The collection doesn’t stop there! Pin collectors can also choose from two new pins. The first is a Passholder Pin featuring Gazelle. ©Disney The second is a party animal pin with Flash the Sloth and his carrot vision glasses. We had the opportunity to visit Disneyland Paris recently, and Oui, it was MAGICAL. Staycity Aparthotel We got to discover new Mickey-shaped foods, visited a noodle truck, and had a glass of champagne on Main Street. AMAZING. While we were there, we stayed at a Disneyland Paris Good Neighbor hotel, Staycity Aparthotels, and we’re taking you with us on a tour of the hotel’s rooms. Staycity Aparthotels is located about 5 kilometers (around 3 miles) from Disneyland Paris, so it’s very well situated. The hotel also offers a shuttle to and from the parks. Its grounds include apartments, villas, and an outdoor heated swimming pool surrounded by a lake. It even has a restaurant and cafe, in case you get hungry while staying there. Our room key We stayed in a Family apartment at the hotel, which is perfect for up to five people. Like in most hotels, your door opens into a little hallway that then leads into the room. You’ll find some handy coat hangers near the door. Little hallway When you walk in, there’s a lovely living room. As you can see, even with the sofa bed pulled out, there’s a lot of space to move around in (which isn’t always the case with European hotel rooms). The living room There are also two comfy chairs that convert into beds, a low table, plus another chair if you need more places to sit and lounge in the room. The chairs pull out to make beds, too Opposite that is a kitchen area, complete with a table and chairs (the TV is above that table). Kitchen area The kitchen features a range, in case you want to cook some meals inside your room. For cooking There’s also a dishwasher. Dishwasher You’ll find a fridge if you need to keep food and drinks cold. Fridge You’ll find things like an electric kettle, cooking utensils, and more on the counter. Appliances The room also has a cutting board, utensils, and dish towels. Everything you need to enjoy a meal in your room A microwave can be found above. Microwave The cabinets hold pots and pans… Pots and pans …measuring cups, a colander, and other utensils… Colander, measuring cups, and more …dishes… Dishes …and drinkware. Drinkware There’s also a sink. Kitchen sink One of the cabinets has a pull-out trash can and recycling bin. Trash can and recycling The bathroom features a tub (which is rare in European hotels) with a handheld shower head. The bathroom There’s also a dispenser for shampoo and body wash. Shampoo and body wash There’s a sink with a trash can beneath it. Bathroom sink The toilet is in a little cubby hole with extra towels on racks. Toilet There’s a mirror above the sink. Bathroom mirror Need to put away your things? There’s a closet with hangers… Hangers You’ll find a safe at the top of the closet. Safe There’s also a broom and mop inside the closet. Broom and mop A hair dryer and iron are also readily available. Hair dryer and iron This room features a separate bedroom, too. The bed has underbed storage, which is NICE. There’s also a full-length mirror in this room. The bedroom A luggage rack takes up space beside the bed. Luggage rack The bed has plenty of pillows. Pillows If you need extra bedding, there’s some in the wardrobe. Extra bedding Two reading lamps sits on a shelf above the bed — these lamps are giving us Pixar vibes. Luxo Jr., is that you? There are tons of different strategies we use when we go to Disney World! We have our rope drop plans, snack guides, entertainment plans, and more, because without a plan, you’re going to miss out on something. Magic Kingdom In Magic Kingdom, there are lots of different ways to plan and structure your day. One thing we even plan for is how to “win” on popular rides in the park, but in 2026, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will need a brand-new ride strategy. In case you missed it, Buzz Lightyear is getting a major makeover in Magic Kingdom! The shooting-style ride closed in August 2025 for a year-long refurbishment. It’s closed! There are lots of changes hitting the popular ride like a new scene at the beginning of your journey through space. The new scene will introduce us to “Buddy,” the friendly robot! He will make sure you’re prepared for your mission. During this new scene, you will be able to see some of the new, interactive target features. ©Disney The ride vehicles are also getting a facelift thanks to a new design with colors inspired by Buzz, and the blasters will be updated so you can actually pick them up! Each vehicle will also have video monitors that provide real-time scoring updates and other features. The new blasters will now include an always-on laser and come in two different colors. ©Disney The ride will also have new Z targets that will feature new technology that will allow them to react and light up when hit. So now we won’t have to guess if we’re hitting the right target! Disney has shared some behind-the-scenes videos and pictures so we know what to expect. ©Disney These changes are all super exciting, and several fans felt they were long overdue, but what do these have to do with ride strategy? Well, if you’re competitive like us, becoming a galactic hero might be more difficult! If you don’t know, becoming a galactic hero was the ultimate way to “win” this ride because it meant you scored 999,999 points and couldn’t score anymore. It’s the highest rank you can earn at Star Command! New ride vehicle for Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin In the past, we had the key to becoming a galactic hero down to a science. Throughout each room, there were specific targets to hit for the maximum amount of points. In room 1, the robots on the left had a target on each hand. If you shot the left, as it was worth 100,000 points. The Claw on the ceiling on the right side of that room was another 100,000-point target! Shoot the target in the left hand OVER AND OVER! In the second room, the volcano had 2 targets on it. If you hit the top target, it was worth 50,000 points and made the volcano erupt! Aim for the top target! The last big point target was Zurg himself. It was located on the right side of the room, directly under him for the word “Pitiful” — there’s a target just under it, and it was worth 100,000 points. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin before the refurbishment Becoming a galactic hero was actually one of the best parts about this ride for it! It gave us bragging rights and fed our competitive souls in ways we couldn’t imagine. We would be shocked if Disney removed this element of the attraction since it is such a popular feature. Galactic hero! We won’t know what our new strategy will look like until the ride reopens sometime in 2026. That doesn’t mean we can’t try to anticipate what it will be! Over in Disneyland, their version of this attraction was updated several years ago, and it looks similar to what Disney has shown us regarding the new changes. Astro Blasters in Disneyland In Disneyland, the different types of targets are worth different amounts. There are also several hidden targets, like one on Zurg’s chest in a few of the scenes. It also gives you 100 points every time you pull the trigger 5 times without hitting something as a “way to keep trying” bonus. Fun fact, on Astro Blasters, you can actually find out your exact score even past 999,999 if you go check out your ride photo. Galactic Hero We won’t know for certain if Disney World’s version of the galactic hero until Disney shows us more or we ride the new attraction next year. Disney World is going through a period of change like we have never seen before! Lands are closing left and right, and classic attractions are seeing some pretty big makeovers. Another one bites the dust! We love the idea of new projects, but we won’t lie! Change is hard, and now 2 more restaurants have permanently closed in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Let’s check out what’s closed and what is taking its place! Two more Animal Kingdom restaurants have joined the Disney World graveyard! To make way for Pueblo Esperanza, DinoLand U.S.A. is closing permanently. Disney has closed the popular land in phases, which kicked off in January 2025. Now, Dino Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites have closed forever. Dino Bite Snacks is closed! Dino-Bite Snacks was home to some famous snacks, like their big ice cream sandwiches that often rotate based on the seasons. We are seriously hoping these reappear somewhere else in the park! Dino Bites Over at Trilo-Bites, their famous Buffalo Chicken Chips will move to Eight Spoon Cafe on Discovery Island. We’re shouting from the rooftops! Dole Whip Floats will move to Warung Outpost in Africa, and while you won’t be able to get hand-scooped ice cream again until February, you can still find soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, and floats at Tamu Tamu Refreshments and Anandapur Ice Cream Truck. Buffalo Chicken Chips As far as food in DinoLand goes, that means only Restaurantosaurus is still open at this time. Disney previously announced that Restaurantosaurus would be closing on February 1st, but that some of those menu options would be coming to Harambe Market — along with some updates to that spot. In addition to Dino-Bites and Trilo-Bites, Harambe Market has now closed, but this closure is only temporary. Trilo Bites is closed for good! The quick service will reopen in 2026, we are assuming, in time for Restaurantosaurus to close. These permanent closures are making way for new options coming to Pueblo Esperanza, the Tropical Americas-themed land. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom The new land will feature attractions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones, along with new shopping, dining, and more. The new quick service will be in a large hacienda that will become one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World. The park is also in the process of opening a new show called Zootopia: Better Zoogether, which opens on November 7th, 2025. The Disney parks are known for many things! Giant mice, amazing attractions, famous snacks, long lines, and wonderful entertainment. Fourth of July Fireworks They’re also famous for their mind-blowing fireworks and nighttime spectaculars! One of their most popular shows is the Fourth of July spectacular, which brings in massive crowds. In 2026, you can avoid those high temperatures and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds while still enjoying the popular fireworks show — all from home! If you didn’t know, 2026 is a big year for America! The country is turning 250 years old, and Disney is celebrating big time. The Walt Disney Company is kicking off a new initiative called Disney Celebrating America, which begins on Veterans Day in 2025. ©Disney The almost year-long celebration will ” honor America’s past, celebrate the present, and inspire its future.” They’re celebrating in several ways, one of which is bringing a brand-new version of Soarin’ to both Disney World and Disneyland! While a lot of the celebrations will be in the theme parks, you can even celebrate at home. ©Disney The festivities will wrap up on the 4th of July weekend with a 24-hour, multi-platform broadcast called Disney Celebrates America. The broadcast will also end with a bang (literally) with a special broadcast from Disney World and Disneyland, showcasing the special fireworks for the American holiday! Fourth of July Fireworks! The show will be included live on platforms including Disney+, Hulu, ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic. Anchor and editor David Muir will host the daylong special along with ABC News anchors, ESPN commentators, and National Geographic reporters from across the country. The entire special will be to “spotlight the wonder, achievements, and dreams that define the American spirit.” Fourth of July Makeover in Magic Kingdom The Walt Disney Company has had a long-standing history of telling our country’s history, so this is no surprise that they’re celebrating this big birthday. We’re eager to see what all the live stream will include, and we appreciate any chance to watch Disney fireworks without needing a park ticket. There’s a lot happening in Disney World today! They’re tearing down buildings, adding new versions of our favorite attractions, and more. ©Disney The changes have been a lot to keep up with, and now, it seems like even Disney is getting overwhelmed. How do we know? The My Disney Experience App is down! You okay, Disney World? We think they’re going through it because the My Disney Experience App is going through it. The app sent a push message to our phones stating that they are experiencing technical issues. ©Disney Disney apologized for any inconvenience and assured users that they are actively working on fixing the issues. This can throw a real wrench into guests’ plans because the app can be used for a ton of your planning in the park. It’s where you book your skip-the-line passes thanks to Lightning Lanes, you can mobile order your meals, it shows wait times around the parks, stores your photos, and more. My Disney Experience app ©Disney The app joins several other online tools in experiencing issues today, thanks to an Amazon Cloud Computing outage. According to AP News, internet users around the world have been experiencing disruptions on October 20th because of Amazon’s Web Services (AWS). Services like Snapchat, Roblox, Fortnite, and more have been impacted. Roughly 3 hours after the outage, Amazon confirmed it is starting to recover from the problem. Tip Board tab on left; My Day tab on right; ©Disney AWS provides “behind-the-scenes cloud computing infrastructure to many government departments, universities, and businesses… which allows them to provide online services.” Amazon stated there were “significant error rates” and that engineers were “actively working” on the issues. ©Disney The Walt Disney Company does use AWS, according to Business Wire. They began using the service in 2021 to help expand Disney+ globally; however, it is unclear if they use it within the theme parks section of the company. It’s no surprise that this outage has also impacted Disney+! Disney’s streaming service is also currently down. ©Disney We are eager to see how long the outage lasts and how it will impact guests’ experiences. The Walt Disney Company has announced an exciting new chapter for one of its most beloved attractions: next summer, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will debut Soarin’ Across America, in celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary. “When production wrapped almost a decade ago on Soarin’ Around the World, we started thinking about where we might go next with the format,” Tom Fitzgerald, Portfolio Executive Creative Director and Chief Storytelling Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, said. “A trip across the United States felt like a natural next flight for Soarin’ to take, and the 250th anniversary of our nation provided the perfect opportunity to ‘book the flight.’” The attraction poster for Soarin’ Across America This immersive new flight experience will take guests on a breathtaking journey from coast to coast, highlighting some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes. Soarin’ Across America is set to launch at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort Summer 2026, offering guests a unique opportunity to celebrate America’s diversity and grandeur from a bird’s-eye view. “As always with Soarin’ films, the biggest challenge is choosing where to go, and what locations would work best in this unique film format,” Fitzgerald said. “Now with the 250th celebration, we’ll immerse our guests in a celebratory flight that spans from sea to shining sea!” From Sea to Shining Sea: New Sights and Aerial Technology The popular attraction format raises guests high into the air in front of an immersive, 80-foot projection dome for a virtual tour of spectacular aerial footage that simulates the graceful motion of flight. Bernice Howes, Executive Creative Media Producer for Walt Disney Imagineering, stepped in to oversee how the new sights and scenes would be captured for Soarin’ Across America. Before hunkering down with advanced camera and aerial technology to capture new stunning scenes of America, Howes and team mapped out which locations to capture and tested equipment. “We sought out satellite maps to display a realistic visual of the locations,” Howes said, “and set up aerial paths in order to understand our filming location needs and how one location transitions into the next to tell the story.” A helicopter with camera mount used to film scenes for Soarin’ Across America From there, Howes and Scott Sohan, Principal Visual Effects Designer for Walt Disney Imagineering, and team set out on a series of camera, lens, helicopter, and heavy-lift drone equipment tests to figure out the exact specifications needed to use a unified set-up for filming all the new scenes. “We then gathered all the needed equipment to go on location — 33 cases in total! — to ensure we had everything we needed while we are out in the middle of nowhere, including spares on all the equipment,” Howes said. Howes and team filming for Soarin’ Across America Crafting an American Story “Our goal was to offer guests a sampling of the diversity of America’s beauty and urban wonders with the hope it would paint an emotional portrait for the nation’s Semi-quincentennial celebration,” Fitzgerald said. For Howes, there was a specific roadmap of how to construct the new film for the attraction to deliver on that creative vision. “Contrasting shots of different American locales — scenic wonders, amazing cities, and the beauty of the coasts. The use of the physical landscape of the United States as a unifying element,” she explained. “Then, using continuous camera movement to smoothly transition between these scenes, linking them together to show the geographical ‘whole’ of the nation, from natural locations to large cities to national monuments that represent America the beautiful.” Howes concluded, “The film’s creation is designed to embody America’s spirit for today’s guests and future generations.” Soarin’ Across America is a tribute to the country’s past, present, and future. As Disney continues to innovate and celebrate milestones, Soarin’ Across America stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to storytelling, technological excellence, and honoring the spirit of the United States. Disney World is busy closing restaurants and tearing down buildings! ©bioreconstruct on X The Disney resort is changing in tons of ways, and while we are excited about the new expansions, it’s pretty jarring to see this many updates at once. Now, another Disney World building has bit the dust — literally! Another Magic Kingdom restaurant has officially joined the Disney World graveyard. Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island has officially been demolished. You can see where the building was previously, towards the top left of the trees. Along with Polly’s, a windmill has been removed, and a mill, along with the water wheel, is gone. ©bioreconstruct on X posted on October 18th, 2025 In the photo below, taken roughly a week before the demolition photos, you can see where each building stood as well as how many trees have been removed. While we did say that Aunt Polly’s has joined the Disney graveyard, in all fairness, the restaurant formally closed back in July 2025 after not operating for several years. @bioreconstruct on X from October 12th, 2025 Aunt Polly’s was a quick-service restaurant located on Tom Sawyer Island. It served up fried chicken, biscuits, BBQ sandwiches, and more during its time. The restaurant was most recently open in 2019, but that was the last time we stopped by the island restaurant. It operated during busy seasons, and we seriously missed it the last few years before it formally closed. Becky’s Buttery Biscuit BBQ Pork Sliders from Aunt Polly’s in Magic Kingdom The demolition news comes as Disney is working towards a brand-new Cars-inspired land called Piston Peak. Disney announced the news at D23 in 2024, so we’ve known demolition was coming for quite some time now. Thanks to bioreconstruct on X, we have been able to keep up with each phase of the demolition despite the walls lining Frontierland. ©bioreconstruct on X The restaurant is joined in being demolished by the Fort Langhorn play area on Tom Sawyer Island. Is anyone else wondering what happened to the poor animatronics and their horses? Do you think they made it off the island? ©bioreconstruct on X In other photos, you can see how Piston Peak will be situated in Frontierland, near Big Thunder Mountain and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Big Thunder Mountain has been closed for all of 2025 and will stay closed until early 2026 for a major refurbishment. Disney has teased that “new magic” will be coming to the attraction and even released some concept art that ties Piston Peak and the attraction together. ©bioreconstruct on X We aren’t shocked by the updates, but it does hurt to see a bit! Demolition permits were filed back in June 2026, so we knew this was coming soon. Piston Peak ©Disney Piston Peak will feature 2 new attractions, along with shopping and (we’re hoping) new snack options. The first is a Rally Race-themed Attraction! Disney has warned us to get ready to race through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as you dodge geysers and splash through mud holes on an exciting and thrilling rally race ride. ©bioreconstruct on X The second attraction will be more family-friendly, but Disney has yet to give us more details regarding that ride. Disney also hasn’t shared an opening timeline for Piston Peak ,but it’s clear there’s quite a bit of work to go. These latest updates are a bittersweet reminder of what we’ve lost (buttered biscuits and dark caves) and what we are gaining (new rides and Lightning McQueen). Lightning Lane is the paid-for skip-the-line system used at the four theme parks in Walt Disney World. There are three variations of the Lightning Lane system: Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Premier Pass is essentially the highest tier — it allows you to use the Lightning Lane queue at every available ride in the park you pay for one time without needing a reservation. ©Disney Lightning Lane Multi Pass is composed of several rides within each park. When you purchase Multi Pass, you can choose each of the designated Multi Pass rides for select times that are available. Also, when you purchase Multi Pass, you purchase it for the park you plan to start in, but then you can park hop after you’ve used your first selections. Lightning Lane Single Passes are for select rides only within each park, and you purchase these individually. Today, we’re going to focus on tips for securing your perfect Lightning Lane Multi Passes to guarantee a perfect day in Magic Kingdom when you only have 1 minute and 7 seconds to do so! Let’s go! Before we dig into the tips for creating a perfect day in Magic Kingdom, let’s go over a few more crucial basics of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass. First, you can plan your Lightning Lanes in advance. You can choose up to three Multi Pass experiences and arrival windows in advance, along with up to two Single Pass experiences. Jingle Cruise Lightning Lane Guests staying at a Disney World hotel and select other hotels can book their first three Multi Passes and two Single Passes 7 days in advance of their first day through the length of their stay up to 14 days. All other guests can book their Lightning Lanes 3 days in advance for the total number of valid admission days on their ticket. The booking window opens at 7 AM ET 7 or 3 days in advance (based on the above criteria). Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane Once you’re in the park and have used your first Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can then begin booking another. But the first three you get can be crucial for your entire day. You’ll likely want to try to reserve your top priority rides in advance to make sure you get them, because rides can run out of Lightning Lanes throughout the day (more on that later!). Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight Lightning Lane experiences and specific times can also sell out VERY quickly (like in 1 minute and 7 seconds) when you’re booking them in advance, so it’s imperative that you are prepped and ready to go on the first day you’re able to start reserving them. So let’s (finally) dive into our tips for doing that and creating your perfect day at Magic Kingdom! Everything You Need to Know About Lightning Lanes in Disney World Have a List of Ride Priorities and Other Reservation Times We recommend planning ahead of time. Don’t wait until 7 AM ET to try to decide which experiences and times you want. Make a list based on priority of which rides are most important to you to ride, and another list with other reservation times you have for each day (such as table-service meals). The Barnstormer Lightning Lane This way, you’ll know which rides to look for and which times to avoid. Have a Good Game Plan for While You’re There Having a plan for which rides are priorities for you to get Lightning Lanes for is easier if you have a good game plan prepped for when you’re actually in Magic Kingdom. Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid For example, if you plan to rope drop Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, then you can probably skip purchasing the Lightning Lane Single Pass for it. If you want to stay late for Extended Evening Hours (if you’re staying at a Deluxe Resort or select other hotel), then you might be able to skip grabbing a Lightning Lane for Jungle Cruise. Pick Rides That Are More Likely To Disappear First Once you get to Magic Kingdom and have used your first Lightning Lane, you can choose another Multi Pass experience. But your options of experiences and return times may be more limited once you’re officially at the park. That’s why we suggest picking rides in advance that are more likely to “sell out.” Space Mountain Lightning Lane Here’s a hypothetical example: Let’s say we’ve been watching the Magic Kingdom Lightning Lanes over the past week, leading up to when we can purchase ours, and keeping track of which rides are disappearing daily first. We’ll say Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been the first to go, but Space Mountain continues to have times available throughout the day. When it’s our turn to purchase our advance Lightning Lanes, we’re going to pick Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and skip Space Mountain, since we’re pretty sure we’ll be able to grab that one while we’re there, but not necessarily Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Lightning Lane at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure If you’re going to do this, you’ll most likely want to do your research ahead of time and watch the My Disney Experience app to see which Lightning Lanes are disappearing daily. Be On My Disney Experience BEFORE 7 AM ET This tip may sound like a no-brainer, but it’s one of the most important tips we have. If you want to secure those priority rides, you definitely want to be on the app BEFORE 7 AM ET. ©Disney You can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Magic Kingdom and Single Pass for up to two rides right at 7 AM, so be sure you’re in the app and ready to make your selections at 7 AM. If You Have 2 Days at Magic Kingdom Planned, Get Your Lightning Lanes for Your Second Day First If you know that you’ll be at Magic Kingdom twice during your trip, pick your second day’s Lightning Lanes first. This is because fewer people have access to those Lightning Lanes than to your first day’s, based on the 7-day and 3-day advance purchasing time frame. Mad Tea Party Lightning Lane AND Standby Lane This will give you more options on that second day than you’ll likely have on your first day. So your second day at Magic Kingdom might be more perfect than your first, and that’s okay! Don’t Panic Our last, but probably most important tip is DON’T PANIC. Yes, it’s exciting when you get the exact Lightning Lanes you were gearing for, but no matter what, you’re going to have a GREAT day at Magic Kingdom (Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth, right?). Plus, if you stay calm and don’t panic, you’re less likely to make a mistake or accidentally tap where you didn’t mean to. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Lightning Lane When you’re choosing your Lighting Lanes for Magic Kingdom in advance, keep in mind that initially, you can only choose one of the following: Jungle Cruise Peter Pan’s Flight Space Mountain Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Jungle Cruise And two more — or all three — from this group: The Barnstormer Dumbo the Flying Elephant Haunted Mansion “it’s a small world” Mad Tea Party The Magic Carpets of Aladdin The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Mickey’s PhilharMagic Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Pirates of the Caribbean Tomorrowland Speedway Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid Once you’re in the park, these tiers go out the window, and you’re welcome to pick whichever Multi Pass experience you want next. SO MANY Disney World attractions are closed right now, and it’s going to change how your vacation works. DINOSAUR With multiple rides and attractions currently closed in Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, AND Animal Kingdom, you’re going to have to revamp those park plans if you haven’t been in a few years. That’s why we’re sharing these NEW rules you’ll need to follow! Plan Your Train Ride Carefully The first thing you need to know is that the Walt Disney World Railroad is experiencing a partial closure right now. While Villains Land is under construction in Magic Kingdom, the Frontierland train station is closed, as is the leg of the route that goes from Frontierland to Fantasyland. Right now, the train is running as a shuttle from Fantasyland to Main Street, U.S.A. (So when you ride to Fantasyland, you’ll get to ride backwards!) Walt Disney World Railroad This means that you’ll need to plan your train trip carefully. Lines may be longer than usual since it’s not as efficient, and you may have to wait longer at the station since they can only run one train back and forth. It’s also important to note that the train doesn’t stay open all day long, so you’ll want to check the hours in advance and factor those times into your day. 4 New Rules for Magic Kingdom in 2026 Skip Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom is getting a big update with DinoLand, U.S.A. transforming into the Tropical Americas, but that means that we’ve already lost one ride (TriceraTop Spin) and are losing another in 2026 (DINOSAUR). With those two attractions gone, Lightning Lane Multi Pass loses a significant bit of its value in this park. Attraction Sign at Animal Kingdom directing Guests to Standby Line and Lightning Lane Entrances The good news is that when Zootopia: Better Zoogether opens in the park, it will have Lightning Lane access. However, those 10-minute theater shows don’t often get long waits, so it doesn’t really make up for the loss of two rides. Instead, we recommend purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Flight of Passage and rope dropping (or ending your day on) Na’vi River Journey. Get All the Tropical Americas Details Here! Prepare for Longer Waits in Hollywood Studios In Hollywood Studios, two sections of the park are under construction. Two attractions in Animation Courtyard (Star Wars: Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play and Dance) closed to make way for The Magic of Disney Animation, a new playground, and a new Disney Jr. show. Also, Muppets Courtyard (with Muppet*Vision 3D) has closed to make way for Monstropolis. The good news is that the Darth Vader meet and greet still exists — you can find him near the Star Tours queue. Prep Your Friends and Family Members Finally, perhaps the most important tip is to warn your friends and family members about these closures. With 12 attractions closed across three parks, one of your group’s favorites is bound to be on the list. It would be incredibly disappointing for them to find that out when they arrive in the park! It’s closed! Basically, you just want to plan ahead and adjust expectations so that no one is caught off guard. Disney continues to produce original shows specifically for Disney+. Many of these shows have been enjoyed by fans — kids and adults alike. Now that Disney+ also offers Hulu (and will soon be the one and only app offering Disney+ and Hulu shows), people of all ages can enjoy entertainment on the app. ©Disney However, we’ve noticed that many recent shows, including some fan favorites, have been getting canceled from Disney+. There have been 5 shows within the past two years alone that have been canceled after only ONE season. There have also been numerous shows canceled after two seasons. It feels like these shows hardly even got a chance, plus several of them performed really well, even winning awards. Let’s take a look at which shows Disney has pulled the plug on. Disney+ Primos Primos aired on Disney Channel and Disney+ in July 2024. ©Disney It followed a 10-year-old girl, Tater, with big dreams and a certain flair that made her exceptional. But now, Disney pulled the plug on the animated series in May 2025. Shardlake Shardlake was launched in the summer of 2024. It was a four-part historical mystery series set in the U.K. in the Tudor period. ©Disney Unfortunately, Disney canceled the series early in 2025 after only one season. The show was well-received by audiences and critics, yet Disney did not provide an explanation for the cancelation. Renegade Nell Renegade Nell followed an 18th-century outlaw in England and was written by Sally Wainwright. ©Disney This show was officially canceled in July 2024, without any official reason being given. Only one season had premiered, so it seems the show did not meet the metrics for a second season. American Born Chinese American Born Chinese was a show based on a graphic novel. It premiered on Disney+ in May 2023, with Disney being a fan of its creativity. ©Disney Unfortunately, the viewership didn’t justify giving it a second season, and therefore, the show was canceled in January of 2024. The Acolyte The Acolyte was a controversial Star Wars series that premiered on Disney+ in June 2024. Many people didn’t care for it being outside the core Star Wars settings and lore, along with its LGBTQ themes and an inclusive cast. ©Disney While the first season ended on a cliffhanger and an apparent setup for a second season, Disney and Lucasfilm decided not to greenlight another season. ©Disney || Disney+ Shows Canceled After 2 Seasons Disney canceled the following shows after only 2 seasons in 2024 and 2025: Goosebumps Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur Extraordinary Marvel Studios: Assembled ©Disney We may never know all the reasons these shows got cut, especially the ones that seemed well-received, but whatever the reasons, these shows will not be getting new episodes. Luckily, the one or two seasons are still available to watch (and rewatch) on Disney+.
