  1. So many new things are coming to Disney World, including new lands, new rides, new expansions, new hotel lobbies, and more. In fact, it’s kind of hard to keep up with all the new stuff that’s on the way. Marketplace Co-Op But it’s not just the parks and hotels that are getting a ton of new stuff. Disney Springs is adding some new things, too, including the social interactive experience LEVEL99. Well, a new store is also coming to Disney Springs and it’s set to open TOMORROW. The Disney Drop Shop is opening TOMORROW. You’ll find this new shop inside Marketplace Co-Op, and it will be chock full of some of your favorite collectibles by brands like Cosbi, Beast Kingdom, and Popsmart (aka the brand behind the viral Labubu toys). You’ll be able to find a lot of collectible figures, blind box items, exclusive releases, and so much more. ©Disney BUT…you won’t be able to just waltz into the shop and immediately start shopping. There will be a virtual waitlist that you’ll have to sign up for when you arrive at the shop. Then, when it’s your turn to shop, you’ll be notified. Disney also made it clear that you will not be able to use any kind of discounts for merchandise bought from The Disney Drop Shop. But if you’re into highly collectible items, you’ll want to check it out. ©Disney We’ll be checking out The Disney Drop Shop for ourselves, so we’ll be sure to let you know what kind of merchandise will be available there. 2. I’m somewhat of a corn dog connoisseur. Seriously, just ask my coworkers here at DFB. It’s a well-known fact that I’m passionate about deep-fried hot dogs (and hot dogs in general, really). A glizzy hates to see me coming. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs So, just imagine how excited I was when it was announced that Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs would be opening on Disney World’s BoardWalk (pretty darn excited). Now that Blue Ribbon has been around Disney World for a bit, our reporters have gotten the chance to experience a ton of wacky and unique creations — from pickle corn dogs to deep-fried Hawaiian rolls. But, whoever came up with this new creation deserves to go straight to jail. Listen, I don’t balk at innovation and creativity. Shoot for the moon and you’ll land among the stars or something like that. But I can’t imagine that this new offering from Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs will be anything other than a textural nightmare. Introducing the Salmon Dog. via Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs on Instagram Yes, you read that correctly. It’s a salmon corn dog, and it will be available for a limited time at Blue Ribbon starting on November 21st. via Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs on Instagram It’s a piece of salmon with a slab of cream cheese on top, tempura battered and fried, and topped with Sriracha mayo, sushi sauce, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Theoretically, I can get behind this. The flavors seem like they would go well together — especially if you like a good fried Japanese bagel sushi roll like I do. But it also seems like it would just be so squishy, you know? via Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs on Instagram I won’t knock it until we try it, which will be as soon as it drops on November 21st. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs usually knocks it out of the park with these limited-time items, so it will be interesting to see just how the Salmon Dog stacks up. It will only be available at the Orlando Blue Ribbon location for now (sorry, Californians)! ©NBC We’ll absolutely be trying this new Salmon Corn Dog so we can bring you our full review, but in the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney snack news and more! 3. No matter where you stand on the Disney movie sequel debate, you have to admit you’re a little excited about Zootopia 2. It’s not even close to my favorite Pixar movie, but something about the classic “I want” story of Judy Hopps and Shakira as Gazelle pulls at my heartstrings. ©Disney If you share the same level of enthusiasm, then you’ve probably seen some of the new merchandise Disney has released for the movie. 4. The holiday season in Disney World is special. It’s not only the parks that get in on the holiday spirit. You’ll find Christmas cheer all throughout Disney Springs, as well as at Disney World hotels. This amazes us every year! Not only do Disney World hotels put up beautiful trees in their lobbies, but some hotels also put out elaborate gingerbread displays. We’ve already seen the gingerbread castle up at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, but now we’re heading to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s Beach Club Resort to check out their gingerbread displays, which are now up. Let’s make our way over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where the gingerbread carousel has returned. This carousel gets a new theme every year, and this year, the theme is celebrating Beach Club’s 25th anniversary. It’s huge We also loved that there was a gingerbread list made up of Cast Members who worked on the carousel this year, and y’all, it takes a LOT of people to put something like this together. Well done! Thanking the CMs The carousel horses have “25” on them to celebrate the hotel’s 25th anniversary. Celebrating 25 years These horses are so pretty, too. So much creativity and artistry went into putting this display together. SO pretty The top of the carousel has some pretty details, too, including a gingerbread Mickey. Details on the top And if you’re curious as to how many ingredients were used to make the carousel (and how much of each ingredient), be sure to check out the scroll with all the details. That’s a LOT But that’s not the only gingerbread display in the area. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn has put up its gingerbread display, too, and it’s a gingerbread version of BoardWalk Deli. Look at this thing! It’s the BoardWalk Deli…in gingerbread form You’ll want to make sure you catch all the details, like Mickey and Minnie in the window. Mickey and Minnie Even the clock on the deli is beautifully rendered. It’s hard to believe this entire thing is edible! Pretty clock You’ll see some familiar silhouettes in the top windows: it’s Daisy and Donald! Daisy and Donald! You’ll also find details here with all the ingredients and just how much it took to put this display together. WOW. SO many ingredients Again, all these details are just stunning. The details! If you want to see these displays yourself, you just need to visit the lobbies of these two hotels during the holiday season. They’re well worth a trip to see! Stay tuned to DFB for more. 5. As of May 7th, 2025, anyone flying in the United States is required to provide a REAL ID as part of the check-in process before boarding their flight, if not using a passport. REAL IDs are state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards that meet the federal REAL ID security standards. ©AP Previously, passengers without a REAL ID or a passport were required to go through additional screening to fly. But, a new rule has been proposed that would add a fee for travelers without a REAL ID. ABC News has reported that airline passengers without a REAL ID or passport could face an $18 fee as part of a new rule proposed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Under the potential new rule, travelers without the required identification will have their identity verified on a new biometric kiosk system before they’re allowed to go through the checkpoint. TSA lines at MCO The $18 fee would be valid for 10 days and would be used to help offset the costs of the new biometric technology, according to the notice. As of now, there’s no word on when the new system or $18 fee will be rolled out. The proposed new rule was published in the Federal Register, which is now open for public comment. TSA PreCheck Touchless Identity Solution The REAL ID law was enacted based on recommendations from the 9/11 Commission that the government “set standards for the issuance of sources of identification, such as driver’s licenses.” The Act established “minimum security standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards and prohibits certain federal agencies from accepting for official purposes licenses and identification cards from states that do not meet these standards.” MCO Airport A TSA spokesperson told ABC News, “This notice serves as a next step in the process in REAL ID compliance, which was signed into law more than 20 years ago and finally implemented by Secretary [Kristi] Noem as of May 2025. TSA is working with stakeholders and partners to ensure both security and efficiency at our checkpoints. Additional guidance will be announced in the coming days.” St. Louis Lambert Airport Essentially, if a traveler goes to a TSA checkpoint without a REAL ID or passport, TSA would use a “modernized alternative identity verification program” — the biometrics mentioned earlier — to verify the traveler’s identity, according to the notice. Travelers might still face additional security screening if using an alternate form of ID, however. TSA said the new system to verify identity will “help reduce time and streamline the process.” Orlando International Airport We’ll be on the lookout for more updates about this potential new fee — like whether it comes to fruition and when. 6. In 2024, Disney changed its Disability Access Service (DAS) in Disney World and Disneyland. The changes sparked lots of controversy, and since its initial update, there have been more changes to the DAS website. Cinderella Castle These changes have included small modifications in wording, as well as some clarifications. While the new changes have seemed small, their impacts have been large. Over the course of 2025, we’ve seen SIX updates to the DAS system, which may be confusing for those who need it. So let’s dig into every new rule Disney has quietly added to the DAS system in Disney World this year, so you know what is most up-to-date and applicable for your next trip. The DAS program allows those who are unable to wait in lines to select a return time so they may wait for their turn outside of the regular queue. To utilize the program, those who meet the qualifications must register by meeting with a Cast Member virtually to help determine what aspects of the program will be most helpful to each individual visiting the parks. Peter Pan’s Flight These are the DAS changes, by month, that we saw in 2025: January Back in January, Disney quietly updated the Disability Access Page’s language to remove the word “only.” Prior to January, the website stated, “DAS is intended to accommodate only those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time.” ©Disney Now the language on the website states, “DAS is intended to accommodate those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time.” This small change may impact who we see as eligible to use the DAS program. February Then, in February, the pre-arrival conversation window was extended from 30 days to 60 days. This allows you to talk to Cast Members 60 days before your arrival, rather than only 30 days previously, potentially making your early registration process easier. ©Disney The pre-arrival conversation is the step in the registration process when you can live-chat with a Cast Member to determine which services may be appropriate during your visit. There is no in-person option during your visit, but if you do not register in advance, you can have a live video conference on the day of your visit. May In May, Disney extended the period during which its DAS is valid to up to one year. This time period had been extended twice before, first to 120 days from 30 days and later to 240 days. The website now reads: “DAS is valid for the length of the ticket or up to 1 year, whichever is shorter. Once the service has elapsed, Guests need to re-register for the program.” ©Disney This change gives you a longer period between registering for DAS and the need to re-register for the program. Once you visit Disney World with a valid DAS registration, though, you’ll need to re-register for your next visit. October The last change to take place in 2025, so far, was in October. This update changed the live video calling rules and requirements, making them more explicit. Before this update, the “Speak with a Cast Member” section was very basic, only outlining what it was and when you could have the pre-arrival conversation ©Disney Now, the “Speak with a Cast Member” section is very detailed with items such as: The recording of this video chat is strictly prohibited The Guest requesting DAS either for themself or for someone else (e.g., a minor child) must be 18 years of age or older to register The Guest for whom DAS is being requested must be present during the video chat. ©Disney DAS is provided at Disney World for those who need it. These updates are now in effect and are in place to help anyone who meets the criteria. If you have questions about DAS or if you qualify, you can reach out to Disney’s Guest Services by phone or on the My Disney Experience chat. 7. With more than 1,100 vendors on the trade floor, there are a slew of browsable options at the annual IAAPA Expo at Orange County Convention Center. Attendees swarm around ride-vehicle reveals, marvel at virtual-reality opportunities, browse through bounce houses and line up for pretzel samples. The expo, produced by the Orlando-based International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, concludes Friday. It is open to registered members of the trade association. Here are a handful of eye-catching, perhaps trend-setting, items at this year’s booths. Wingz, a product of Italian manufacturer Zamperla, uses arm power to give elevation to riders during the IAAPA Expo, held in the Orange County Convention Center. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Winging it The virtual tentpole of the Expo floor is a circling swing ride named Wingz, exhibited by Zamperla, an Italian manufacturer. At first glance, it’s pretty, topped with butterfly designs … but pretty ordinary. But why are all the passengers flapping their arms? It has the feel of a fraternity prank or an inside joke or chickens gone wild. Mystery solved: The up-and-down arm motions make the two-seat ride vehicles move up and down. “We have motion-capture cameras used in video-game development and a brushless DC motor system developed for high-speed elevators,” said Michael Coleman, North American sales manager for Zamperla. “The arm movement of the passengers is what actually makes the ride change elevation.” No flapping, no flying: If passengers stop winging it, their ride vehicles glide back to the ground. Expo riders were all smiles, although some noted that they hadn’t signed up for upper-arm workouts. It’s a new product for the company, and the floor model already has a home. After the Expo, it will be installed at Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio. A segment of the Dunk Cannon, sold by Orlando-based Extreme Legacy, is on display at the IAAPA Expo. Participants fire foam balls at one another; the loser is dropped onto an inflatible landing pad. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Dunk redux Orlando-based Extreme Legacy brought out the big gun to the show. Its Dunk Cannon concept pits seated competitors who fire foam balls at each other. Hit the target enough times, and the opponent is dumped into an inflatable landing pad. It takes the water element out of a dunk tank and adds a Nerf-esque angle. Players are about 40 feet apart, so there’s not enough room in the company’s booth to demonstrate. “If you want to add more than just a one-on-one attraction, you can imagine having these in a circle or a battle zone,” said Phil Wilson, chief development officer. “I feel like that is where the industry is going,” he said. “How do we reinvent what people love to the next generation, and how do we apply technology to make it more immersive, more inclusive, more interactive?” A boy is suspended on a crane over toys inside the Human Crane Experience at the Family Entertainment Group booth at IAAPA Expo. (Stephen M. Dowell/Orlando Sentinel) The chosen view In another twist across the expo floor, folks are lowered into a pit of 4-foot-tall inflatable aliens, grabbing all the prizes they can. Think the claw from “Toy Story” or those tantalizing, elusive arcade games, but upsized. It’s the crowd-pleasing Human Crane Experiment, offered by Illinois-based Family Entertainment Group. “Those claw games can be a little iffy, but you’re always going to win something here,” said Justin Green, chief growth officer, “We like to gamify it. So most people you see go in will try to grab as much as they can,” Green said. By the end of the first day of IAAPA Expo, one contestant had napped 14 aliens in a single dip. The company works with family entertainment centers and operates the arcade at Great Wolf Lodge locations. Their biggest customer has been Dave & Buster’s, which purchased 200 units, Green said. Some locations fill the bin with plushes; others use mystery bags, he said. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Screen time In the corner of the Expo floor stands a 16-foot, inflatable, floatable movie screen offered by EPIC Outdoor Cinema, a Fort Lauderdale company. It offers up to a 40-foot-diagonal model. Although primarily used for showing movies – think resort pool – at IAAPA, it’s drawing attention with a trivia host and game. “We also do karaoke on the screen sometimes, and we can stream live content as well, so you can get creative with what you can show,” said Kara Solomon, director of business development. Her customers tend to be parks and recreation, amusement parks, bars, wherever many people gather. “Some people do have it for their backyard,” Solomon said. “It’s great for Super Bowl parties.” Their EPIC name predates this year’s opening of Epic Universe theme park. “We personally loved it. As soon as it was open, our team went there,” Solomon said. “We don’t mind the affiliation. It’s cool.” The Themed Entertainment Association's booth include furniture -- including a couch, room divider and desk -- generated by 3-D printing. The job was fabricated by Orlando-based MassiveMAKE. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Model citizens The furnishings of the booth for Themed Entertainment Association were all made with a 3-D manufacturing process performed by Orlando-based MassiveMAKE. That includes a long couch, a 15-foot-long/8-foot high backdrop and a desk with a curvy TEA design with a tree-trunk-looking base. “They wanted a wall that presented a division but didn’t obstruct vision,” said Nathan Ducot, MassiveMAKE partner and strategic growth officer. The result is a swirly, ultramodern midcentury modern look. “We printed this in, like, two days,” Ducot said. This is not your nephew’s 3-D printer that spits out keychains. The company’s machinery incorporates KUKA robotic arms, the kind of technology that move theme park rides such as Universal Orlando’s Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. Ducot imagines many theme-park options for this technology. “I see a huge application for facades and rockwalls,” he said. A statue of Ozzy Osbourne is part of the display for Unique Rabbit Studios at the IAAPA Expo, held in the Orange County Convention Center in November 2025. John Belcher, owner of the Pompano Beach business, said the figure sold quickly and drew crowds throughout the week. "A lot of prayers and a lot of photos,' he said. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Ozzy Osbourne homage Unique Rabbit Studios presents an oversized bust of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July. “We thought it would be a nice tribute to bring him,” said owner John Belcher, who has exhibited at IAAPA Expo since 2007. “He’s getting a lot of attention. More people are taking selfies with him than anything else in the booth.” The company exhibits famed figures from the past (singer Freddie Mercury) and present (soccer superstar Lionel Messi). It sells to a lot of family entertainment centers and restaurants, Belcher said. “Any business that wants a photo op for people to take photos with it and share their brand.” Ozzy, decked out in black jacket and round purple glasses, was a last minute addition to the booth plan, and the figure took about five weeks to complete, Belcher said. “That was the first thing that sold about a half an hour after the booth was open.” he said. 10. Avengers Campus opened in Disney California Adventure back on June 4th, 2021. This Marvel-themed land features tons of attractions, dining, and entertainment to explore, but soon, there will be even MORE exciting things to experience. Avengers Campus Disney previously announced plans to expand Avengers Campus, and we just got a behind-the-scenes look at how Imagineers are bringing this expansion to life! Walt Disney Imagineering recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at the Avengers Campus expansion and marked an important milestone: the canopy connecting the two new attractions, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, is being assembled! ©Disney You can see the large canopy in the background, framed with large metal poles. It’s so exciting to watch how Disney brings brand-new rides and experiences to life! ©Disney Disney has described Avengers: Infinity Defense as, “Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big and small heroes. You also just might find yourself face-to-face with King Thanos, too.” Avengers Infinity Defense Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark in the Stark Flight Lab attraction, in which guests will “sit in two-person pods and deploy to a test station. Then a robot arm grabs your pod and starts whirling you around in a simulated flight.” Stark Flight Lab ©Disney Disney hasn’t yet announced an expected opening date for the expansion, but we’ll keep a close eye out for any updates now that the construction is really ramping up. 15. There aren’t too many times of the year better to visit Disney California Adventure than right now! Full spread from Favorite Things We’re so excited for the return of Festival of Holidays this year! The festival runs from November 14th, 2025, through January 7th, 2026, and features plenty of limited-edition souvenirs, live entertainment, and some really tasty eats! We’ve gone around to all the booths and restaurants, trying this year’s offerings, and we’re letting you know about the CAN’T MISS snacks and sips that should be on YOUR radar during your next visit! Best NEW Eats and Drinks at the Festival Al Pastor Mac and Cheese from Holiday Duets The Al Pastor Mac & Cheese with tortilla crumble and cilantro for $9 was instantly one of our favorite dishes at the festival. It had a lot of flavor with a bit of a kick, but it wasn’t SUPER spicy, and the spiciness was more flavor than heat. We were also impressed with the generous chunks of meat in this dish. Al Pastor Mac N Cheese There were some great textures with this, too, with the creamy flavorful mac and cheese and the tortilla crumble. We didn’t really notice the cilantro, so if you’re worried about the cilantro, it really isn’t very present in this dish. Read Our Full Review Spicy Cajun Loaded Fries at Smokejumpers Grill The Spicy Cajun Loaded Fries were added to Smokejumpers Grill for the festival. These are Cajun fries topped with hot links, cheddar cheese, corn, and bell peppers for $8.99. So when it says spicy, it means it. Between the hot links, hot sauce, and Cajun seasoning, you’re going to get a delicious bite of flavors with every fry. Spicy Cajun Loaded Fries It is, however, spicy, just like the name suggests, but if you don’t mind some heat, run over to Smokejumpers Grill to grab these. Mint Chocolate Chip Cotton Candy at Outdoor Vending Locations You’ll find the Mint Chocolate Chip Cotton Candy at various outdoor vending carts, and if you see it, you might want to pick it up. We’ll admit that we were a little skeptical at first, but once we tasted it, we were hooked. The first thing you taste is cotton candy with just a hint of mint. The chocolate flavor is also light, so it works with the sugar the cotton candy is made with. Mint Chocolate Chip Cotton Candy This is a snack we’ll be getting again this holiday season. Best RETURNING Eats and Drinks at the Festival Holiday Mash Bowl at Merry Mashups The Holiday Mash Bowl is made with Chicken, cheddar mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy with cranberry stuffing crunch for $9.25. Now, this was not our favorite thing last year, but this year, the flavors just worked together so well that we’re recommending it. It’s basically Thanksgiving in a bowl, and that’s a very good thing. Holiday Mash Bowl This bowl is full of wonderful flavors, including a nice herbiness that you expect with Thanksgiving dinner. Read Our Full Review Cookie Dough Yule Log at Grandma’s Recipes Now, there are a lot of sweet treats you can get at the festival, but if you opt for just one, get the Cookie Dough Yule Log filled with chocolate chip cookie dough and white chocolate mousse covered with chocolate buttercream for $8.50. We really enjoyed this treat last year, and this year, it’s the same. Cookie Dough Yule Log This treat is made for cookie dough fans with lots of fun flavors, smooth chocolate frosting, and moist cake. The little Mickey on top makes it photogenic, too. Read our full review Beef Brisket Slider at A Twist on Tradition We also loved the returning Beef Brisket Slider with smoked onions and horseradish ketchup on a pretzel roll for $9.50. It might not look like much, but it is LOADED with incredible flavors. You also get a generous portion of brisket and the perfect amount of onions. Beef Brisket Slider Also, it’s not too heavy on the horseradish ketchup. The bun was also great, although it may need to be a bit bigger to hold all that meat. Read our full review Cranberry Christmas Mule from A Twist on Tradition This booth also had our favorite drink of the festival, the Cranberry Christmas Mule. This drink is made with Gin, elderflower and ginger liqueurs, cherry purée, and cranberry and lime juices, topped with a citrus hard seltzer and garnished with a lime wedge gummy candy for $18.50. This made our list last year, and it’s making our list this year, too. It’s so refreshing and sweet with a hint of tartness. Cranberry Christmas Mule The cherry purée is a standout flavor, and the ginger and elderberry flavors are light. It kinda’ reminded us of a boozy Hawaiian punch. Read our full review Best Booth at the Festival When it comes to the best and most consistently good booth at this year’s festival, look no further than A Twist on Tradition. This booth had it all…one of those giant turkey legs (if that’s your thing), that fantastic beef brisket slider, and our favorite festival drink, the Cranberry Christmas Mule. A Twist on Tradition Spread We also really liked the Salted Caramel Brownie White Russian, which is basically a dessert in drinkable form. Runner-Up — Holiday Duets We still want to give tons of love to Holiday Duets! This booth was a close second, and really how can you go wrong with a booth dedicated to Mac and Cheese? The Savory Kugel Mac & Cheese is a returning favorite, but we can’t get over just how good the Al Pastor Mac & Cheese is. Full Spread at Holiday Duets Want to try both? You can order a combo of half portions of both! Best of the Festival for Kids Cookies & Cream Hazelnut Hot Cocoa at Brews & Bites Kids are going to love the Cookies & Cream Hazelnut Hot Cocoa, which is Joffrey’s hot cocoa with cookies and cream flavors, melted chocolate, hazelnut purée, and Irish cream syrup, garnished with whipped cream for $7. Cookies and Cream Hazelnut Hot Cocoa This is just a fun flavored hot chocolate with a hint of cookie and hazelnut flavors. The whipped cream melts quickly into the drink, too, giving it more creaminess and sweetness. Read Our Full Review Sticky Toffee Pudding Macaron at Favorite Things Kids are also going to love the Sticky Toffee Pudding Macaron, which is a Mickey-shaped chocolate macaron filled with vanilla buttercream, date cake, and salted toffee sauce for $9. First, it’s shaped like Mickey, which is always a kid-pleaser. Sticky Toffee Pudding Macaron Most of the flavor comes from the thick, sweet vanilla buttercream. The chocolate macaron is nice and flaky, while the salted toffee sauce adds a rich taste throughout. Read our full review And there you have it! Which items make your mouth water? 16. The holiday season is about to arrive at Disney World, and we can already feel the excitement – and the “snoap” – in the air! Christmas in Magic Kingdom I’ve been visiting Walt Disney World for over 30 years, and during that time I’ve watched the holiday season surpass even summer vacation and spring break to become the most popular time of year to visit the ”Most Magical Place on Earth.” This is mainly due to the massive amount of effort Disney has put into holiday decorations, treats, exclusives, and other special events, and it all begins at the Magic Kingdom. SNOAP When talking about our favorite things about the holiday season at the Magic Kingdom, we have to start with “snoap.” What’s snoap, you ask? Well… Snoap in Magic Kingdom That’s right, Disney uses “snoap” — the name colloquially given to the non-toxic soapy liquid concoction that Disney runs through a machine — to make it SNOW at the Magic Kingdom! Disney’s faux snow is a very convincing effect, and really puts the final touch in transforming Main Street U.S.A. into a winter wonderland, even in Central Florida. “Snoap” falling on Main Street! We have to warn you, though — it does NOT appear all of the time. You can typically only encounter snoap during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, so it’ll cost you a pretty penny to see it on Main Street. Don’t want to pay for the extra ticket? Disney Springs also has snoap in the Town Center area every half hour after sundown! Snoap almost always makes us emotional Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event that allows you to get in the park after hours with exclusive snacks, entertainment, complimentary cocoa, rare character interactions, and low wait times for popular rides. It’s a fantastic event if you’re looking for something new to try at Disney World, and it’s perfect for the entire family. Is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World Worth the PRICE? Peppermint Brownie Sundae and Other Seasonal Snacks From snoap to snacks, the Christmas season features dozens of delicious holiday-themed treats across the resort. One of our recent favorites at the Magic Kingdom is the Peppermint Brownie Sundae. Great for the holidays Available at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, the decadent sundae features a house-baked brownie topped with peppermint ice cream, hot fudge, and chocolate granola with candy cane pieces. Would you try this? We found the ice cream to be sweet and not too minty. Sometimes mint treats can taste like toothpaste, and we sighed with relief when that was not the case! The brownie was heavy on the fudge in a good way, and the whole thing was perfect for those with a Christmas sweet tooth. 3 of Our Favorite Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Snacks Are Back — Here’s Our Full Review Moving from one snack to another, we have to talk about the Holiday Cookie Popcorn! During its debut year, this festive mix featured caramel popcorn layered with M&Ms, crushed ginger snap cookies, marshmallows, and milk chocolate drizzle. The mix! The caramel and chocolate flavors blended really well together, and the huge chunks of ginger snaps make the whole thing taste like the ultimate Christmasy treat. A word of warning, though, if you’re not a fan of ginger snaps, you may not enjoy it quite as much. Deliciousness It’s important to note that not all of the holiday snacks are available all day long. When they are announced, Disney will note if each item is available during the day, during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ONLY, or both. Pay attention to that when making your list so you can avoid disappointment! Click here for the full breakdown in 2025. 23 Snacks MISSING from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World in 2025 Dressed in their Holiday Best What’s better than seeing all your favorite Disney characters? Seeing them dressed in their Christmas best attire! Club Tinsel There’s Mickey and Minnie, and, of course, Santa Claus! Jolly Ole’ St. Nick himself can be found for meet and greets in Storybook Circus, and you’ll also see him in the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade! To find meet and greet times for characters, check the My Disney Experience app. It is constantly being updated with the latest information and is the most reliable source. SANTA at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Our favorite, though? Sandy Claws!! You can meet Jack Skellington in his Santa attire with Sally, and it’ll probably be in your top three best things you did during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Jack and Sally The characters in holiday attire are typically exclusive to the Christmas Party; however, you may catch them in the parks closer to Christmas Day. It’s not guaranteed or planned all of the time, so keep your eyes peeled! Every RARE Character You Can Meet at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Popular Attraction Overlay In addition to characters, treats, and ambiance, one of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom gets into the holiday spirit. For example, the World Famous Jungle Cruise transforms into the Jingle Cruise, which is packed with enough Christmas buns to fill an elephant’s stocking. Jingle Cruise This overlay typically starts in early November and ends in early January, so enjoy the two months it is around. Expect high wait times, too — it’s very popular! You can also book a Lightning Lane return time via Lightning Lane Multi Pass if you don’t want to stand in that line. Jungle Cruise Just Got a HUGE Change in Magic Kingdom – But It’s Only for a Limited Time There’s a lot to love about the Magic Kingdom during the Holiday season, including treats, rides, decor, and even SNOW! 17. Once the Disney Destiny officially sets sail as the next member of the legendary Disney Cruise Line fleet, a new wave of immersive entertainment is poised to redefine what it means to bring beloved animated characters to life. At the heart of this innovation is the collaboration between Disney Live Entertainment and Walt Disney Animation Studios — two creative powerhouses working in tandem to transform iconic stories into unforgettable experiences at sea. And that goes well beyond the Broadway-style shows staged inside the Walt Disney Theater aboard the ship. “When [we’re] developing new entertainment for Disney Cruise Line, we really view the entire ship as our stage,” Denise Case, Director of Entertainment Creative with Disney Live Entertainment, said. “This allows us to look beyond the theater setting and bring entertainment to the other immersive venues on board.” A look at the exterior of the Disney Destiny As part of that entertainment, guests on the heroes- and villains-themed ship can expect to encounter some of their favorite animated stories brought to life in new and exciting ways, in theatrical productions like Disney Hercules and Frozen, A Musical Spectacular; via dining experiences like “Pride Lands: The Feast of the Lion King;” and through character interactions with the likes of Hero Minnie, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and others. Captain Minnie Mouse Captain Minnie Mouse Captain Minnie Mouse The mistress of all evil, Maleficent The mistress of all evil, Maleficent The mistress of all evil, Maleficent Cruella de Vil Cruella de Vil Cruella de Vil A Ship-Wide Stage for Storytelling From Broadway-caliber stage shows to multi-sensory dining adventures, the Disney Destiny promises to be a showcase of storytelling that engages guests in ways no other cruise line can replicate. This includes experiences like “Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King,” where guests are able to experience the powerful songs and storytelling of the iconic 1994 Disney Animation classic right from their table in a restaurant inspired by the African savanna. Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, a first-of-its-kind dining experience celebrating the renowned music of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film that continues to transcend generations “The dining experience is just one of the ways we are continuing to push the boundaries of what cruise ship entertainment means,” Case added. In this first-of-its-kind dining experience, while families dine, they’ll be treated to a colorful ensemble of live performers taking the stage to present a musical journey through the award-winning soundtrack of Disney Animation’s The Lion King. Guests dine at Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King The immersion doesn’t stop at the performances, as the dinner food menu will balance the wide-ranging flavors of African cuisines with familiar fare that will satisfy the whole family. Diners will be able to expand their horizons with traditional dishes from across the continent and discover new spins on Disney Cruise Line guest-favorite dishes that incorporate authentic spice blends, regional sauces, and customary grains and produce. And for slightly more adult fare, De Vil’s piano bar — named for the wickedly stylish Cruella de Vil of One Hundred and One Dalmatians — allows guests to wind down with an avant-garde selection of designer drinks inspired by Cruella herself and other icons from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ history. Hear from Roger Gould, Creative Director, Walt Disney Animation Studios Innovation in Scale and Technology Among the most anticipated productions aboard the Disney Destiny is Disney Hercules, a show exclusive to the ship that promises to push the boundaries of scale and spectacle. Embodying the ship’s theme of “heroes and villains,” Disney Hercules features jaw-dropping puppetry to represent the mythological behemoths that Hercules must defeat to fulfill his hero’s journey “Disney Hercules is really going to blow people away,” Case noted. “The show features massive Titan puppets that our team designed using new technology developed by Walt Disney Imagineering. These giants literally tower over our Hercules performer as they battle him. They are even packed with special effects like fog.” And, while Disney has a long tradition of adapting its animated classics for the stage, doing so aboard a cruise ship presents unique challenges. “Translating a beloved story to the stage is never an easy task, and we definitely face some unique challenges at sea that most people may not think of,” Case explained. “One of our biggest hurdles that we need to figure out early on in the show development process is space. The Walt Disney Theatre rotates through three shows with massive set pieces each sailing. Fitting all of these sets, costumes, and props backstage in a way that allows us to transform the theater each night is like a giant puzzle.” A moment from Disney Hercules This logistical complexity is met with ingenuity and precision, ensuring that each performance feels seamless to guests while backstage teams orchestrate nightly transformations. Bringing these productions to life requires a symphony of talent across multiple disciplines. “Collaboration is so important to what we do here at Disney Live Entertainment,” Case said. “Bringing a single show to life on one of our ships involves teams of set designers, choreographers, show writers, musicians, lighting designers, sound technicians, schedulers, and so many others.” Why Disney Does It Differently On land, Case’s team partnered with the iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios to ensure that their famed characters are accurately brought to life onstage and reflect their onscreen personas. These partnerships across Disney’s various iconic brands and innovative lines of business ensure that every detail honors the source material while adapting it for a new medium. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Goofy delight guests in the Grand Hall of the Disney Destiny “Disney has created some of the greatest stories ever told, and when you combine that legacy with our passion for making dreams a reality, it creates something truly special,” Marcus Gibson, Disney Signature Experiences Producer of Shipwide Entertainment, said. “We’re uniquely positioned to connect with guests through environments and characters that go deeper into the stories they love. On the Disney Destiny, we take that idea even further by creating interactive experiences that guests won’t find anywhere else — ones that are immersive, emotional, and unforgettable.” This philosophy is evident across the ship, where every venue becomes a portal to one of Disney’s timeless animated stories, and every moment is thoughtfully crafted to resonate with guests of all ages. 18. As Disney Cruise Line prepares to launch its newest ship, the Disney Destiny, on November 20, a bold new chapter in immersive storytelling is unfolding — one that brings Disney, Pixar, and Marvel’s most iconic heroes and villains to life on the high seas in ways only Disney can. Through a dynamic collaboration between Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Marvel, guests will step into the Marvel Universe like never before, surrounded by characters, environments, and innovative experiences that are beloved across generations. The Disney Destiny “The cruise environment is such a unique canvas to play in,” Brian Crosby, Executive, Marvel Experiences Development, said. “We have our guests staying with us for multiple days, and [they] come with the expectation of being fully immersed in these stories with the opportunity to spend some quality time with our characters.” Hear from Brian Crosby, Executive, Marvel Experiences Development And fully immersed they will be: from the Wakandan-inspired Grand Hall to multi-day narrative arcs featuring Spider-Man and Loki, the Disney Destiny is more than a cruise ship — it’s a floating stage for epic adventures. Creating the World at Sea Black Panther Worlds of Marvel The Disney Destiny is a heroes- and villains-themed ship, and with part of the inspiration coming from Marvel — complete with Spider-Man and his Spider-bots as the ship’s stern characters — selecting which of the brand’s vast universe of over 8,000 characters to bring onboard was no small feat. Spider-Man and his Spider-bots on the stern of the Disney Destiny As Crosby noted, the priority is always the story and experience — choosing characters that resonate widely and offer rich storytelling potential. For the Disney Destiny, Marvel focused on iconic figures such as Black Panther, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Loki. “When I think about those characters… I recognize that we get Wakanda, Asgard, the Sanctum, the Mystic Arts, trickery, heroism, sometimes even some villainy,” Crosby said. Guests aboard the Disney Destiny may encounter Loki, the fan-favorite character from Marvel Studios’ films and the Loki television series Jen Bascom, Creative Director for Disney Cruise Line Creative, added, “Inspired by the Grand Hall design, we developed exciting new shows that pay tribute to the music and stories of King T’Challa, the Black Panther… And when it came to choosing a villain, we were energized by developing material for Loki. Who better to explore the concept of ‘destiny’ than this villain in search of his ‘glorious purpose?’” And it’s not just about having the characters onboard. “Guests who sail on the Disney Destiny will be surrounded by incredible design and architecture from the lore, myths, and films,” Bascom said. Guests stepping aboard the Disney Destiny are immediately welcomed into the Wakandan Grand Hall — a striking space that sets the stage for total immersion. The Grand Hall of the Disney Destiny “Imagine a villain like Loki walks into the Grand Hall,” Beth Burkhardt, Manager of Interior Design at Walt Disney Imagineering, suggested. “We can completely change the look and feel of the space with lighting and color so the whole space is washed in his iconic green palette… As a hero like T’Challa or Spider-Man enters the space, we can have the lighting and color feel more optimistic and strong.” From there, guests can explore a variety of themed environments, including the Sanctum inspired by Doctor Strange, the Saga lounge echoing Black Panther’s throne room, Marvel Super Hero Academy, and the Worlds of Marvel restaurant. Crosby added, “I’m always blown away by the innovation and creativity [Imagineers] bring to the table… I often present them with seemingly impossible characters, stories and magic to bring to life, and they never disappoint!” The Sanctum is Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by the powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts of Doctor Strange A Unique Canvas for All Ages Marvel’s enduring appeal lies in its ability to connect across generations. “Parents and even grandparents grew up with these characters… and then a new generation was introduced to them through the lens of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” Crosby said. “We always try to stay true to [Walt Disney’s] goal by finding experiences that will entertain all audiences regardless of age and depth of knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” Guests aboard the Disney Destiny can experience “Sounds of Wakanda” in the ship’s stunning Grand Hall. This all-new musical celebration brings the rhythms and spirit of Wakanda to life through an energetic performance by a group of traveling percussionists. Entertainment experiences were designed for all ages in mind: interactive youth programs, immersive theatre shows, surprising spectacles, sophisticated intimate villain engagements, and adults-only comedy shows. This way, kids can go off on their own adventures, parents and adult friends can share a laugh, and the whole family can come together and create memories on board they’ll cherish for years to come. Marcus Gibson, Disney Signature Experiences Producer of Shipwide Entertainment, explained that bringing these experiences to life connects with him personally, much like many others who worked on turning the dream of the ship into reality. “Marvel stories have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember,” Gibson shared. “Our goal was to craft experiences that are exciting, immersive, and meaningful for guests of all ages — whether they’re longtime fans or encountering these heroes for the first time.” Worlds of Marvel, Disney Cruise Line’s Marvel-themed dining experience A Marvel Experience Only Disney Could Create The Disney Destiny offers 4- and 5-night sailings, and as Bascom explained, “we have an incredible opportunity to create durational stories. On the Disney Destiny, we’ve created some multi-day narrative threads for guests to follow along or catch up on.” Jay Abruzzese, Production Designer Principal, Walt Disney Imagineering, added, “Whether it’s one evening rounding the corner after dinner and coming face to face with Loki, or another day taking a family photo with the powerful sculpture of T’Challa in our Grand Hall, each one of our guests will experience their own stories in their own unique way.” The Grand Hall of the Disney Destiny is its most striking and prominent gathering space These may be unique and innovative storytelling experiences, but for guests onboard, they’re also memories that last a lifetime. The Disney Destiny is more than a cruise ship — it’s a storytelling platform that brings Marvel’s rich universe to life in ways that are immersive, emotional, and unforgettable. Through the combined efforts of Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Marvel, guests will not only witness the stories of heroes and villains — they’ll live them. 20. We recently visited Disneyland Paris, and we are STILL talking about our trip! Let’s be honest, we will probably be talking about it for quite a while. Of course, it wouldn’t be a DFB trip to Disneyland Paris without eating plenty of food. We took full advantage of our time in the parks, and that also meant trying all sorts of treats! Fish & Chips We tried everything we could, and we are sharing our reviews with you. Whether you have a trip planned to Disneyland Paris and are trying to do your research, or you are just curious what the food is like there, come along with us to dine at Toad Hall Restaurant! Toad Hall Restaurant is located in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park, and we are headed over to enjoy the ambiance and try out one of its signature dishes. The restaurant is inspired by The Wind in the Willows, and even from the moment you walk up to this restaurant, you will feel like you have been whisked away to the English countryside. The facade of the restaurant features brick and stone work, with lots of details, including a variety of chimneys. As you walk into the restaurant, you walk under a coat of arms with “Toad Hall” in gold lettering. Toad Hall Toad Hall serves up British fare, which you can enjoy while admiring Mr. Toad’s family portraits and Wind in the Willows artwork. Just about everywhere you look in Toad Hall, you will find fun details! We definitely spent way too long exploring all the walls of this restaurant. You can see Mr. Toad on a variety of adventures around the world. Artwork inside Toad Hall We could be here all day if we showed you every inch of the restaurant. But we can guarantee that if you are a fan of Mr. Toad, you are going to love exploring this restaurant. Toad Hall You can even admire a portrait of Mr. Toad. He is looking handsome and very dapper! Hi, Mr. Toad! Not only are there lots of fun details, but there are also plenty of seating options. We loved all the wood and stone elements throughout the restaurant. Here is a look at one of the dining areas inside Toad Hall. Dining Area We also really loved this dining area, surrounded by stained-glass windows. More seating options At Toad Hall, we grabbed the Fish & Chips for €12 (about $14, give or take). You can choose to have ketchup or tartar sauce served alongside them. While these weren’t life-changing Fish & Chips by any means, they were still enjoyable. It was a hearty portion of fish and fries, and the fish was well-cooked with that classic fish & chips flavor. The batter was crispy and satisfying. Fish & Chips We think this is a reliable option in a park where food is hit-or-miss. Will you be thinking of these Fish & Chips forever and ever? Most likely not. But you will likely leave feeling full and satisfied, and having had an enjoyable meal. Plus, the restaurant was so much fun to eat at, and we loved admiring all the details! Fish & Chips So in recap: decent Fish & Chips, but nothing that is going to knock your socks off. However, they are tasty, crispy, and fresh. The ambiance inside the restaurant is wonderful, and Mr. Toad fans are going to love exploring every inch of this restaurant to see what they can find. Even those who aren’t Mr. Toad fans will likely appreciate the English countryside ambiance and cozy vibes of Toad Hall. 21. We’ll admit that when we first saw How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk in Epic Universe, we were blown away by the level of immersion in that land. It really had us believing that dragons are real (and Toothless is SO real, y’all). But something was missing. ©Universal Ahead of Epic Universe’s opening, Universal Orlando teased that we would see flying dragons over the land. However, that never happened. So color us disappointed. Well, dragons have finally been spotted flying over Isle of Berk, and we couldn’t be more excited. These dragons are basically drones made out to look like dragons. Universal Orlando promised they’d be seen often flying over the Isle of Berk, but for some reason, the flying dragons have been MIA since the park’s opening in May. Universal hasn’t really given much of an update since then. Perhaps there was a technical or safety issue that Universal needed to work out. These are pretty massive drones, so we can imagine that flying these babies can’t be easy. How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk Is it possible that Universal never intended for flying dragons to be an everyday thing in the park? Well, why would they bring them up if they weren’t meant to be seen by all? Maybe they were just a delayed project, giving Universal a chance to work out all the park opening bugs before sending the flying dragons out into the wild. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to interact with dragons in Isle of Berk, including an incredible meet-and-greet with Toothless himself. But imagine dragons occasionally flying overhead while you’re there? How amazing would that be? You can meet Toothless Stay tuned to DFB for more.
