  1. The Disney World Monorail may be one of the most beloved forms of transportation at the resort. However, sometimes things do go wrong. We’ve seen issues where the Monorail has temporarily closed, and well, these things happen. Monorail However, this morning, a fire was reported on the Disney World monorail by @CHRIS_MAGIC_DCL, although by the time it was reported, it seems the fire has been put out. So if you’re taking the Monorail this morning, you may want to expect it to be closed. If this was the Express Monorail, as believed, that means you’ll need to take an alternate route to get from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Magic Kingdom. At present, we assume the boat to Magic Kingdom is still running. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more details and, we’ll get those to you when we have them, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 9 Things That’ll Make Your Ride on the Monorail in Disney World 10x Better Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 6. Many of us first went to Disney World as children, and children feature heavily in most Disney vacation plans. The rides, the characters, the shows, and the buffets with counters featuring kid-friendly foods signal that this destination is family-friendly. But the truth is, Disney World has always featured spaces designed for adults, from the original Top of the World Lounge that opened in the Contemporary in 1971, to the 21+ Pleasure Island nightclub district, to the ages 10 and up limitation at Disney World’s most upscale restaurant, Victoria & Albert’s. A Walk Through the Garden Mocktail Adults who go to Disney without kids tend to get a bad rap — but Disney has always built spaces with adults in mind. From high-end restaurants to cocktail lounges, spas, and resort experiences, parts of Disney World were designed for grown-ups from the very beginning. And yes — it’s true that Disney is banning kids from some restaurants. But that’s not new, and it’s not scandalous. In 2025, Disney World opened its first ever fully 21+ bar and restaurant, EPCOT’s GEO-82. This futuristic lounge experience is a bold move that signals Disney’s growing awareness of a key part of its fanbase: Adults who love the Disney Parks just as much as kids do. See Our Full Review of GEO-82 Here Geo-82 As we said, Disney’s not new to creating adult-centric experiences — just look at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which transforms into a 21+ tiki bar after 8 p.m. The shift in tone as the night goes on allows Disney to maintain its family-friendly charm by day while giving adults a chance to unwind in a space that feels just for them. The Cast Members at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto WILL entertain you. This balancing act extends to fine dining, too. Victoria & Albert’s, Disney’s crown jewel of culinary excellence at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, welcomes guests aged 10 and up, emphasizing elegance and exclusivity. Similarly, Takumi-Tei in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion invites guests aged eight and older into its serene, artful space. The age limits are a subtle cue that these refined experiences are designed for guests who can appreciate the craftsmanship and quiet ambiance. Queen Victoria’s Room at Victoria & Albert’s These changes aren’t about shutting families out, but instead, they’re about giving everyone something special. As the Disney fanbase has evolved, so too has the park experience. “Disney Adults” have become a cultural phenomenon, with many fans returning year after year for the food, festivals, and nostalgia. For those who grew up with Disney, the parks have matured right alongside them, offering more sophisticated dining, mixology, and storytelling experiences that cater to an adult audience. It’s less about exclusion and more about evolution. It’s Disney recognizing that its magic doesn’t have to end when you grow up. Takumi-Tei And there’s no sign of that momentum slowing down. The Beak & Barrel, the first ever bar inside Magic Kingdom now gives Disney adults a space to enjoy a cocktail in a themed bar. And while this new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed space is open to all ages, its opening signals that Disney is experimenting more with how adults experience its most classic spaces. The Beak and Barrel Read Our Full Review of The Beak & Barrel Here! Of course, Disney still offers incredible fine dining options that welcome families. California Grill atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian, and even Artist Point, which is home to a character dinner with Snow White all prove that refined meals and family-friendly fun can coexist. The difference now is that Disney is expanding the range of experiences, ensuring that everyone, from first-time kids to lifelong fans, can find something for them on vacation. Story Book Dining In the end, we don’t think these new adults-only spaces mean Disney is becoming less family-friendly. What we see is that Disney is becoming more inclusive of every type of guest. The parks are growing up, just like the generations who love them. Whether you’re toasting with a cocktail at Geo-82, savoring a seven-course meal at Victoria & Albert’s, or watching your child’s face light up at Artist Point, one thing remains the same: At Disney, there’s room for everyone to enjoy, no matter how old you are. A Zombie and a Hippopotomai-Tai at Trader Sam’s That’s what we see, but how about you? Do you want more of these adults-only spaces popping up around Disney World — or should the new stuff be for the kids? Drop a comment below to let us know. 7. According to Yahoo News, a Melbourne man has died after going overboard on Disney Cruise Line’s Wonder ship. Disney Wonder The Victoria Police confirmed a report about the 73-year-old man, and a spokesperson has said, “It is understood the man died after he jumped from a cruise liner into waters in the Tasman Sea on Saturday, about 4:30 AM.” The man’s name has not been released, and his body has not been discovered yet. According to CruiseMapper, the ship initiated a search operation, turned back, and navigated for about 5 hours in the area where the incident was reported. The crew on board used thermal-imaging equipment to scan the water, and the ship’s captain later confirmed that the individual could not be found. Disney Wonder The Disney Wonder is proceeding to New Zealand with an anticipated arrival delayed by one day. Our thoughts go out to the man’s family during this time. View the full article
  8. A couple of Disney World’s best hotels aren’t even owned and operated by Disney! The Dolphin The Swan and Dolphin Hotels are beloved by many for their prime location, fair rates, and fantastic amenities. Owned and operated under the Marriott umbrella, these hotels have all the Disney perks without actually being Disney hotels! As such, they’re compatible with a special travel card, which has proved its usefulness far beyond a single Disney World vacation. The Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card and Marriott Bonvoy points program offer Marriott customers the ability to earn credits and find ways to save, but if you’re a fan of the Swan and Dolphin at Disney World, this travel card and points program works overtime to get you some sweet perks — more so than a lot of other travel cards! ©Marriott Bonvoy Unlike the Disney Visa, which primarily helps you with Disney-related activities, Marriott Bonvoy has far fewer location-based limitations. In fact, for Disney fans, Marriott Bonvoy may enhance a Disney stay in ways the Disney Visa can’t! Travelers can use Marriott Bonvoy Points to help pay for future Swan and Dolphin stays! So even if you’ve never visited a single Disney Resort or are just getting into the Disney fandom, your already-accumulated Marriott Bonvoy Points can be applied toward a Swan and Dolphin room. Swan and Dolphin Resort, Owned by Marriott Bonvoy While the Marriott Bonvoy program is free to join, the Marriott Credit Card automatically gets you Elite Status. These upgraded tiers may grant you priority late checkout, bonus points on stays, possible room/suite upgrades, late checkout, and possible complimentary breakfast, a welcome amenity, or additional points (depending on your tier). There are Silver, Gold, and Platinum Elite tiers. The higher the tier, the more perks you get. Dolphin Lobby Most Marriott travel cards offer annual free night awards, which can be used at the Swan and Dolphin! There are spending requirements, but these can ultimately end up saving you hundreds of dollars during your stay, especially when booking off-peak days. This is undoubtedly one of the best ways to score a luxury Disney hotel stay for FREE. ©Marriott We briefly touched on this, but the card also gets you bonus points on travel purchases. Silver Elite gets you a 10% point bonus, Gold Elite gets you a 25% point bonus, and Platinum Elite gets you a 50% point bonus. If you use your card to pay for a stay, you’re stacking base points, Elite bonus points, AND the credit card multiplier. Talk about making the most out of your travel card! Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin If you’re new to the credit card, you may also get a large sign-up bonus, which can yield free nights at the Swan, Dolphin, or Swan Reserve! If you time your sign-up right, you’re next stay at these properties can be incredibly discounted — if not free! And — of course — you get similar travel protections that other travel cards offer. We’re talking trip delay reimbursement, lost luggage and baggage delay coverage, trip cancellation/interruption protection, purchase protections, and more. Swan Resort lobby Best of all, you can stack all of the perks you get with Marriott Bonvoy with the perks you get with Disney! Mix in all these savings and Marriott perks with Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, Lightning Lane booking advantages, complimentary Disney transportation, free standard theme-park parking, and more! Essentially, you’re collecting Disney World infinity stones when you stay at the Swan or Dolphin and have this credit card. Swan and Dolphin Do you have the Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card? 10. Yes, yes, we know…this is a Disney blog, but we also love other things, too. And let’s just say that we are BIG fans of Wicked. So can we talk about Wicked for a hot minute? We PROMISE we have a good reason. Wicked cookiesw Now, of course, we’ve already visited the updated Wicked: The Experience at Universal Orlando, where we enjoyed seeing some new additions. But we also recently got to tap into our inner Shiz University student to try some new Wicked snacks in Disney Springs. Yes, you read that right…there are Wicked snacks in Disney World! You’ll find these new cookies at Summer House on the Lake (you know, the place with the COOKIE BAR). The first cookie is the Sparkle Sprinkle, which is a Raspberry Cheesecake-flavored cookie for $5.50. Of course, this cookie is covered in pink sparkly sprinkles…just like Glinda! It tastes just like raspberries and cream, y’all. Sparkle Sprinkle The cookie is soft, tender, and VERY sweet. The sprinkles add a nice texture, and of course, they make the cookie look pretty. Toss, toss! SO good The Emerald Spell Cookie is a Birthday Cake-flavored cookie for $5.5o. Of course, it’s covered in green sparkles to represent Elphaba. This cookie doesn’t “Defy Gravity,” and overall, it tasted pretty similar to a sugar cookie with a hint more vanilla. That’s probably because birthday cake and sugar cookie flavors are the same. Emerald Spell That’s sort of a weird choice for Elphaba, who is anything BUT vanilla. This cookie is more cakey on the inside, but it was still soft and sweet. Soft and sweet! When it comes to this contest between Glinda and Elphaba, the Glinda-themed cookie wins hands down. If you’re a Wicked fan, though, you should just go ahead and try both. It’s worth it! Stay tuned to DFB for more. REVIEW: This Cheesy, Salty Snack Is Hiding in Magic Kingdom Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! 11. If you are headed to Disney World this week, you need to know about these closures! We don’t want you showing up to an attraction or location, just to realize it is having a planned closure. That isn’t fun for anyone! Disney World is undergoing quite a few changes right now, with attractions and locations permanently closed to make way for expansions, like Pueblo Esperanza, Piston Peak National Park, and a Monsters, Inc. land, and others are currently undergoing refurbishment. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad With all the construction and upkeep, it can feel a bit overwhelming to keep track of everything that is closed. Don’t worry, we’ve got you! Making sure you have the best vacation is our passion, so we are always keeping track of what is happening at Disney World. Let’s take a look at what is closed in Disney World this week so you can be prepared! Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from November 22nd through November 29th, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for refurbishment since August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! It’s closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and many of the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. The river has also been drained! Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting. The Best Things About Magic Kingdom at Christmas Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market, a quick-service dining location in Animal Kingdom, has temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025. It will be closed for a few months, and it is currently expected to reopen in early 2026. While we are sad to see the dining options decrease in Animal Kingdom, there are still lots of delicious options! Harambe Market You can stop by Flame Tree Barbecue or Satu’li Canteen for a tasty, quick-service meal. We aren’t expecting huge changes at Harambe Market during the refurbishment, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids is about to close for refurbishment! This water adventure has temporarily closed as of October 6th, and it is expected to reopen in December 2025. We aren’t expecting any huge changes to the ride, just some maintenance and general refurbishment. Kali River Rapids We commonly see Kali River Rapids closed during the cooler months for refurbishment. Splashing through a water ride just isn’t the same when it is cooler outside, so we can see why Disney chose the fall or winter months to do some maintenance on this attraction. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, The Boneyard, Dino Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The Boneyard has permanently closed as of September 2nd. Dino Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites are also permanently closed as of October 20th, 2025. Pueblo Esperanza Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus are still open, but Disney has announced the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing for good on February 2nd, 2026. NEW Scar Popcorn Bucket Now Available in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie — Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The good news is that it is just a temporary closure, and it is expected to reopen later this year! Vacation Fun Vacation Fun is joining an already lengthy list of closures in Hollywood Studios, including Animation Courtyard and Muppets Courtyard. There is still plenty to do in Hollywood Studios, but be prepared for a fair amount of construction happening! Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. Construction walls around Animation Courtyard This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Recently, the Muppet*Vision 3D sign was officially taken down! Farewell Muppet*Vision Sign Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. REVIEW: I Regret To Inform You That You Might Be Missing Out on an Incredible Meal at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach has been closed since September 8th, 2025! While it has been wonderful having BOTH Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time this summer (which was the first time this has happened in YEARS), that has now come to an end. Blizzard Beach is now closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach Have no fear, though, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open! Although keep an eye on the weather, as Typhoon Lagoon will close when the temperatures become colder. REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Disney World Hotels Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery will be closing its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery hasn’t announced yet where that new location will be, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! The Paddock Pool, Aquatic Play Area, and The Paddock Grill — Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The Paddock Pool, the aquatic play area, and The Paddock Grill will be closed from October 13th, 2025, until early December for routine maintenance. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort As we enter the cooler months, we are seeing more hotel pools undergoing routine maintenance. It is all an important part in making sure the Walt Disney World Resort is looking its best. Leisure Pool at Miller’s Road — Disney’s Old Key West Resort If you are staying at Old Key West soon, you will want to take note of this closure! From September 29th through late November, the leisure pool at Miller’s Road will be closed for routine maintenance. Disney’s Old Key West Good news, though. The Sandcastle Pool and both leisure pools at Old Turtle Pond and South Point will still be open. So, there will be plenty of options for having some poolside fun! The Samawati Springs Pool Slide — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Starting on September 8th, the Samawati Springs Pool Slide will be closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village for routine maintenance. Disney hasn’t announced a date for when the slide will reopen. Samawati Springs Pool If you’re staying at the resort, there will still be another water slide option for you to enjoy at the Uzima Springs Pool! ONLY the slide at The Samawati Springs Pool will be closed; you can still use the pool, just not the slide. You just may see or hear construction at work. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. 14. If you’ve ever been to the Magic Kingdom, you know that walking around Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom can cause you to work up quite an appetite. That’s where this savory snack option comes in. Queso Fries Now, Frontierland’s Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is often overlooked as a snack spot. It’s a stop many make to have rice bowls, burgers, or pulled pork sandwiches for lunch or dinner. But we think this is a great stop for a snack! It’s indoors (air conditioning!) with a variety of sides on the menu, and we need to tell you about our favorite one! Queso Fries *should be* the perfect salty snack break. But are they? The $6.99 side dish features French Fries topped with chipotle queso and pico de gallo. Our thoughts? For $7, this is a pretty decent and filling snack! The fries are your classic Disney fries, so they do get a bit soggy with the queso on them, but that’s just more incentive to eat them right away. Pecos Bill The queso sauce has a slight bit of spice to it, but nothing that should irritate even the mildest of palates. The pico adds a great bit of freshness, the red onions bring the crunch and tang, and the whole thing is topped with Queso Fresco. You just can’t go wrong with those creamy cheese crumbles! The best thing about these toppings? Just how much queso Disney actually put on these fries! No one can accuse Pecos Bill of skimping here! Look at those toppings… Next time you’re in the Magic Kingdom and in need of a salty pick-me-up, make your way to Pecos Bill’s for some Queso Fries! 15. The holiday season in Disney World is…well…it’s magical! You’ve got all the festive decor in the parks, giant Christmas trees, gingerbread displays at the hotels, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, and more. Santa! However, there may be one activity you’ll want to do above ALL else during the holidays, and that’s meeting the big guy himself. No, we’re not talking about Mickey. We’re talking about Santa. Well, if you want to have some one-on-one time with the Jolly Old Elf in Disney World, we’re going to tell you where you can do that. Magic Kingdom If you want to see Santa in Magic Kingdom, he’ll be appearing at Storybook Circus, starting on the day after Thanksgiving. For the first time, this part of Magic Kingdom has been decked out for the holidays in anticipation of the Santa’s arrival. Santa will have a dedicated spot there to visit families, so be sure to bring your Christmas wish list! Santa in Storybook Circus You can also see Santa during Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Can’t make it to the party? Well, the Christmas parade can usually be seen during the day in the few days leading up to Christmas. EPCOT Santa will join the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays on November 28th through December 24th at CommuniCore Hall in EPCOT. He’ll be there in a “wintry setting.” You’ll also be able to see the Spaceship Earth gingerbread display. Santa is moving from The Odyssey Pavilion this year for his first appearance at CommuniCore Hall. Santa in The Odyssey Pavilion at EPCOT However, if you visit The Odyssey Pavilion at EPCOT, you’ll be able to meet Santa Goofy there! Disney’s Hollywood Studios Over at Walt Disney Presents, you can see displays with props and costumes from movies like Noelle, Babes in Toyland, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and The Santa Clause. During Jollywood Nights, you can meet Santa Duffy here. Santa Duffy at Jollywood Nights Santa himself is around, too, though. During the day through December 24th, you’ll get to meet Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas at Walt Disney Presents. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Santa will be meeting with guests in Dinoland, U.S.A. for the land’s last ever year in existence. You’ll find him at Restaurantosaurus on Parasaurolophus Porch, surrounded by Santa dino surprises. ©Disney Santa will be here through December 24th. Disney Springs One of the most popular spots to meet Santa is in his workshop near Disney’s Pin Traders in Disney Springs. There will be a virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app for this meet and greet, and there will not be a standby queue. Meet Santa at Disney Springs! You’ll want to keep an eye on the app to see when you can meet Santa when you’re in Disney Springs. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Here’s a Santa meet-and-greet you might NOT know about. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be meeting guests at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin on select nights from 6 PM to 8 PM. This Santa is dressed for a Florida vacation, though! Santa on vacation Here’s Santa and Mrs. Claus’ schedule at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin: November 28th-3oth December 4th-6th December 11th-14th December 18th-21st Mrs. Claus So if you’re looking for Santa in Disney World this year, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see him. 16. Happy Holidays to all our DFB friends. Now, ’tis the season for all things holly and jolly, right? Thomas Kinkade Advent Calendar Well, it’s also the season for Advent calendars, which generally offer a little gift to you every day of December leading up to Christmas. Well, we decided to see which Advent calendars were the best, so we’re reviewing three that we think you and your family will love. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the Bluey Advent Calendar Bluey! Okay, who loves Bluey? Well, Bluey fans are going to love this Bluey Advent Calendar that comes with 24 days of little booklets all about Bluey and her adventures. Bluey! Each little booklet tells a story from a Bluey episode or has a fun activity. Daddy Robot Book We love that this is an age-appropriate Advent calendar with so many different stories. Little ones will look forward to each day’s booklet since it gives them some interaction with Bluey without needing a screen. Note that the books are made out of paper, which isn’t always something toddlers handle adeptly, but you still get a ton of them. The boxes are also easy to open, and the quality of the Advent calendar is good. View on Amazon Get the Thomas Kinkade Advent Calendar Thomas Kinkade Advent Calendar Okay, so this Advent calendar is currently sold out, but we have to talk about it (and it could come back in stock at some point). This is an Advent calendar with 24 little puzzles that build into a 1,000-piece puzzle at the end of the 24th day. SO cool! 24 puzzles in ONE package! If you love Disney and puzzles, this is for you! Each little puzzle has an adhesive on the back that you can stick to adhesive sheets to put each puzzle on. Beauty and the Beast Puzzle The artwork on the puzzles is also stunning, and the quality of the puzzle that you get for the price is PERFECT. The only thing we didn’t like was that there are some days that don’t actually finish a puzzle. Some puzzles took several days to complete. This puzzle is still beginner-friendly, but will also please longtime puzzle lovers. View on Amazon Get the Disney Charm Bracelet Advent Calendar Charm Bracelet Advent Calendar This Advent calendar lets you build a charm bracelet. One thing that really surprised us was the quality of the charms — they’re really nice! You get a wide range of charms, too — enough to make two bracelets. A look at the charms However, we did feel that the box felt cheap, and each little box was hard to open without destroying the box. Look what you can create! This is a great gift for any little girl or young jewelry enthusiast. It’s also a lot cheaper than Pandora charm bracelets. 17. A BIG change has just hit Disneyland! Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland One of the best ways to save you time during your Disneyland vacation is to use mobile ordering. Mobile ordering allows you to buy food, snacks, and drinks before even arriving at the location. You can do it while you wait in line for an attraction, at a show, or while walking between spots at the park. Well, Disneyland has removed mobile ordering from some locations! As of November 21st, Disneyland has removed treat shop locations from Mobile Order. We first saw it on the Disneyland app, but after speaking with a Cast Member in person, they confirmed they had been removed. There is speculation that it could be due to low Mobile Order usage at those locations. Mobile Order pickup Also, Disney hasn’t confirmed if this is a temporary or permanent change. Take a look at the list of locations that will no longer be using Mobile Order as of right now: • Disney’s Wonderful World of Sweets in Downtown Disney • Pooh Corner in Disneyland • Bing Bong’s Sweets in Disney’s California Adventure • Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen in Disneyland • Trolley Treats in Disney’s California Adventure Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff Don’t be mistaken — this is a pretty huge change and is one worth being aware of the next time you visit the park. Mobile Order was a great way to get those special treats at these locations ahead of time without taking you away from exploring the park — especially with how long the lines can get for some of those goodies. Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cookie Pie at Candy Palace It’ll be interesting to see if this is a permanent change. Will Mobile Order come back if the lines are too long? Will Mobile Order be removed from more locations? Only time will tell! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! 19. Isn’t the Christmas season at Disney World just the best?! The decorations, the holiday cheer, the music, and the TREATS! Cheerful Elf Latte! We recently went to both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try two new holiday drinks at Joffrey’s! These are Annual Passholder exclusive drinks —so if you have an AP and are a fan of coffee and festive flavors, you’re going to want to try them out. Joffrey’s always delivers on new drinks year-round, depending on the season — and their Christmas drinks have to be our favorite. We went to two parks at Disney World just to try them both, but the question is, are these ones worth it this year?! Cookie Butter Gingerbread Latte! Our first stop is at Hollywood Studios, where we tried the Cookie Butter Gingerbread Latte for $7.49! This is not an overly sweet drink. It mostly tastes like coffee with a hint of gingerbread, so it’s not overwhelmingly gingerbread. There’s whipped cream that sweetens it even more, and some really cute gingerbread sprinkles that make the drink for us. It wasn’t too sweet! This is pretty consistent with a lot of flavored lattes in terms of level of flavor and sweetness. Of course, you can always ask for more pumps of the syrup. We do get the cookie taste, and we get some of the gingerbread, but none of it knocks us over the head with the flavor it claims. Honestly, if we were given this in a taste test, we don’t think we would be able to identify it as gingerbread or cookie butter, but we did enjoy every sip. Gingerbread sprinkles! What we really love about this drink is that it’s not overly sweet and has a spiced flavor, even if it wasn’t exactly identifiable. We have to say, the visual appeal of the whipped cream with the gingerbread man sprinkles on top is the BEST part. We don’t have anything overly negative to say about this, only that one of these Joffrey’s lattes blends into another for us, but the decoration of it is too cute. Overall, we really appreciate this one! We liked this one! Next, we’re going to the Magic Kingdom, where we got the Cheeful Elf Latte for $7.19. This tasted like a lightly sweetened coffee with whipped cream and an interesting sprinkle — similar to the Annual Passholder exclusive drink in Hollywood Studios. Cheerful Elf Latte! The sprinkles on top of the whipped cream are like shards of either a candy cane or one of those peppermint pinwheel candies, and are so strong with peppermint flavor that everything else just tastes ambiguous and vague (but pleasant). If we have one complaint, it’s not that this tastes bad; it’s that it doesn’t really taste like what it is supposed to. If you like a lightly sweet coffee flavored with something appealing, if not undiscernible, then this may be your thing. It was very light in flavor The sprinkle on top, that sharded peppermint candy, is the star of the drink, just like those little gingerbread man sprinkles were for the drink at Hollywood Studios. It is worth giving a go if you are in Magic Kingdom, looking to drink coffee, and want something with some visual festive appeal, as well as a pleasant flavor. This was tasty! Overall, the drinks have a pleasant taste, as well as a cute, festive look. If you’re at the park and want a lighter coffee with some Christmas flavors, you should try these out! 20. We love a lot of things about Disney World. The rides, the characters, the energy, and of course, the food. We are Disney Food Blog after all. We have our favorites all over Disney World, and we are constantly trying new food items and revisiting food items to make sure we are giving you the best advice. We have been fans of the hushpuppies at Columbia Harbour House for a while now — and we still remember the hushpuppies’ disappearance in 2024! Don’t worry, the hushpuppies are back, but it was quite the scare. But that isn’t the only thing we love about Columbia Harbor House — come along with us! Hushpuppies! We recently stopped by Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom to revisit one of our favorites, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is this spot still worth a stop while you are in Disney World? Find out here! Atmosphere You will find Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square, right across from the Haunted Mansion. This quick-service restaurant serves up seafood and New England-inspired favorites in a seafaring setting. The building, inspired by Colonial America, fits in well with Liberty Square’s theme. Columbia Harbour House Throughout the restaurant, you will find nautical theming and details that help to tell the restaurant’s backstory. For example, you will spot lots of boat replicas throughout the restaurant, like this one! Boat replica There are a couple of things we love about Columbia Harbour House: the food (those hushpuppies!), the air conditioning, and the plethora of seating options. We always feel so cozy dining inside Columbia Harbour House. You can choose to dine downstairs or head upstairs for even more options. One of our favorite spots overlooks the walkway by the Haunted Mansion and is perfect for people-watching and relaxing in the air conditioning. Dining area at Columbia Harbour House Columbia Harbour House is a quick-service restaurant with two options for ordering. The first option is to order at the register and pick up your food from the counter. Or, the second option is to place a Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app — our personal recommendation. With a Mobile Order, you can choose a pickup window, let the restaurant know when you arrive, and once your order is ready, head to the counter to pick it up. More upstairs dining You will find self-serve stations throughout the restaurant with utensils, napkins, and condiments. Some of the condiment options include ketchup, mayo, mustard, honey mustard, barbecue sauce, salt, and pepper. Self-serve station But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Columbia Harbour House serves up New England-inspired fare and lots of seafood options! For entrees, you will find options like the Lobster Roll, Shrimp Skewer Platter, Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon, and the Chicken Platter. Plus, there is also one plant-based option: the Hearts of Palm and Artichoke Roll. ©Disney You can also choose from a variety of sides, including one of our favorites — the hushpuppies! There is also New England Clam Chowder, Green Beans, French Fries, Rice, and more. ©Disney There are also options for kids’ meals, such as Grilled Salmon, Grilled Shrimp Skewer, Chicken Strips, and more. ©Disney For dessert, you can choose from a Boston Cream Pie or Nonfat Strawberry Greek Yogurt. There are also quite a few drink options, including assorted fountain beverages, a Minute Maid Lemonade Slushy, milk, and more. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we of course had to grab some Hushpuppies for $5.49. You get six hushpuppies per order, so plan accordingly! Hushpuppies! These nuggets of fried corn batter are one of our favorites, and they still taste great! They have a super-crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. The inside has pieces of whole corn mixed in, which adds good texture, and you get quite a bit of the corn flavor. Yum! These have a bit of sweetness, but not enough to make them taste like dessert. And for less than $6, we think this is still a super solid snack choice! Inside the hushpuppies We also got the Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon for $15.79. It is served with green beans and rice, but you can also change up the two sides. We thought the green beans and rice were a great pair with the salmon, but feel free to choose your favorite! Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon The salmon was tender and moist. The mustard glaze on top tasted like a slightly sweet Dijon sauce. It packed a great flavor with lots of mustard. We love that it formed a slightly crispy exterior on the salmon, which was a great complement to the soft meat. Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon The green beans were tender, but with a bit of snap to them — no mushiness here! We didn’t taste any seasoning on them, but you can always grab some salt and pepper from the self-serve stations or opt for a different sauce on top. The rice was plain, and we enjoyed it for the most part. There were a couple of gummy and mushy sections that weren’t super tasty, but most of the rice was decent. It also didn’t have any seasoning, but a bit of salmon with rice and green beans was delicious! Overall, this is a great, healthier option and one we keep coming back to again and again. Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon Up next, we tried the Beer-battered Fish Platter for $13.49. The dish comes with three pieces of fried fish and French fries. Beer-battered Fish Platter The breading on the fish is thick and crispy. It isn’t as thick as, say, chicken tender breading, but it is a bit thicker than you normally see on fried fish. However, we really enjoyed the slightly thicker breading. It was super crispy and held up well, and the ratio of fish to breading was great. The breading was a bit oily, but nothing that kept us from eating the fish. The fish inside was tender and moist, and melted in your mouth as you bit into it. Beer-battered Fish Platter Finally, for dessert, we got the Boston Cream Pie for $5.99. It is vanilla cake layered with vanilla cream, chocolate popping candies, and crisp pearls, topped with fudge icing and a cherry. This is another favorite here at DFB, so let’s see if it is still as good. Boston Cream Pie We are happy to report that the Boston Cream Pie is still a great dessert. It is a two-layer cake, with a thick layer of cream in the middle and chocolate ganache on top. The cake was moist, especially with all the cream. Then the chocolate ganache on top was fudgy and creamy. Boston Cream Pie The ideal way to eat this dessert is to get a bit of each layer in your bite. Moist vanilla cake, silky-smooth vanilla cream, and fudgy chocolate make a great combination. You also get a bit of crunch from the chocolate popping candies and crisp pearls. Boston Cream Pie Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are looking for a quick meal with options beyond the classic hamburgers and chicken tenders. If you are tired of chicken tenders and hamburgers, Columbia Harbour House has a few more options than the traditional theme park fare. You can find fish, shrimp, lobster rolls, clam chowder, and more. You are a fan of fish and seafood. You can find lots of fish and seafood options on this menu, so if you are a fan of either and are looking for a quick meal, this could be a great option. You want to eat at a location with lots of indoor seating. Columbia Harbour House has lots of indoor seating. It can get crowded during peak meal times, but if you are willing to search for a bit, you will likely be able to find somewhere to eat. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You don’t eat fish or seafood. The menu also includes chicken and a plant-based option, but most of the menu is fish and seafood options. If you don’t like fish or seafood, or are allergic to them, this may not be the best dining option. You want a restaurant that features a certain character. While Columbia Harbour House has fun nautical theming, and we love walking around and exploring the details, it isn’t themed to a particular Disney movie or character. It is full of colonial New England charm, though! If you are looking for characters in Magic Kingdom, check out Cinderella’s Royal Table or Crystal Palace! You want a table service meal. At Columbia Harbour House, you won’t have a waiter or waitress, although there are Cast Members around if you need assistance. If you want a traditional dining experience with a waiter or waitress, you could check out Liberty Tree Tavern, Skipper Canteen, or Be Our Guest. Overall Columbia Harbour House continues to be a great option for a quick meal in Magic Kingdom. We love the hushpuppies and Boston Cream Pie that you can grab here, plus the Maple Mustard Glazed Salmon is a great, healthier option. We appreciate that the menu features options beyond the normal theme park fare of hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders. It is a wonderful option for a bit of variety in your quick-service dining while you are at Magic Kingdom! It is also hard to beat the seating options and air conditioning — and we love people-watching from the second floor! Our meal at Columbia Harbour House In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 24. New treats in Disneyland Resort? Count us in — we’re ready to try them all! More snacks! As we’re the Disney FOOD Blog, we make it our job to try all the latest snacks, drinks, desserts, and more that hit the Disney parks, so you can know if they’re worth spending your hard-earned money on while you’re on your next vacation. There are TWO new treats that just landed at the resort, and we’ve gotta tell you, they’re both one step away from becoming our go-tos. Starting off over at Disney California Adventure, you can grab the new Dulce De Leche Pull Apart Bread for $9.25 at a treat stand in the Paradise Garden Grill area. This is made with pecans, so watch out if you or someone in your party is allergic. We highly recommend talking to the Cast Members there if you have any questions or concerns. Dulce De Leche Pull Apart Bread This is certainly a filling, sweet treat that should definitely be shared! Between the dulce de leche and pecans, this was really rich and very sweet. The main flavor we got was a sweet caramel flavor with a nutty aftertaste. It was warm from the case they kept it in, but we’ll admit that the bread didn’t seem as fresh and we would of liked it. This thing is BIG! It wasn’t a huge deal, as most of the flavor comes from the toppings anyway, but we would have loved for the bread to be fresh. We’re also warning you now — this is extremely sticky and messy, so grab those napkins and be ready to head to wash your hands right after. Very messy! Our next treat was over in Disneyland Park. You’ll find the S’mores Cheesecake for $7.79 over at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, and while this wasn’t bad, it tasted more like just a chocolate cheesecake than s’mores, but we didn’t mind. We didn’t taste much graham cracker or marshmallow here. It was served chilled and had a thick texture, which helped make the chocolate rich and decadent. However, that strength of flavor took away from the graham crackers sprinkled all over, so we could really only taste graham crackers when we got to the crust on the bottom. A closer look The mousse on top was light and whipped with a light marshmallow flavor, but our only complaint is that we wish there was more of it to balance out the rich chocolate flavor. Any fan of s’mores and chocolate would probably love this, but we would love to see a little more balance between the flavors. Also, if you’re a s’mores mega fan, you might want to bring your own marshmallows. You’ve gotta really love chocolate! Looking for more recent reviews? Check out our posts below! More Recent Reviews!
