It’s beignet time (all the time, but we digress)! You know we’re always on top of the seasonal, temporary flavors at Disneyland Resort’s Mint Julep Bar, and right now, it’s strawberry season! Mint Julep Bar That’s right! In addition to the traditional Mickey-shaped beignets that are always available at this counter service locale, the fine cast members in this New Orleans Square mainstay are now serving up Strawberry Beignets! Strawberry Beignets at Mint Julep Bar The Mickey-shaped fried dough is as pillowy and tasty as ever, and the dried strawberry sugar is fantastic! Rather than just flavored sugar, this iteration is made with powdered, dried strawberries, giving the Strawberry Beignets a lovely, strong berry flavor. Strawberry Beignet Trigger warning: Mickey ear consumption ahead! But seriously, who can resist? Strawberry Beignet Not all seasonal beignets at the Mint Julep Bar are winners, we freely admit this. Today, we’re offering the exciting opportunity to join us for an advanced screening of the “Incredibles 2” film at the AMC Disney Springs 24 theater before it debuts in theaters on June 15, 2018. The Disney Parks Blog “Incredibles 2” meet-up begins at 2 p.m. ET (doors open at 1:00 p.m.) at AMC Disney Springs 24 at Walt Disney World Resort on Saturday, June 9. During the event, you’ll see a special advance showing of “Incredibles 2” at the AMC Disney Springs 24 theater. In our Disney Doodle series, different Disney artists take turns imagining what different Disney characters would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney Park. In today’s Doodle, artist Ashley imagines what Oliver and Dodger from “Oliver & Company” would do if they had the chance to visit Magic Kingdom Park. According to Ashley, the canine duo may travel through the park in style, just as they did in the “Why Should I Worry?” musical scene in the film. “I love when Oliver and Dodger ride on the rooftops of cars in ‘Oliver & Company.'” she said. “It’s easily to imagine them having fun on the trolley while traveling down Main Street, U.S.A.!” View the full article

Lamplight Lounge Preview Advance Reservations are now open for booking online — or by calling (714) 781-DINE — for dates starting June 23rd (which is also, of course, opening day for the entire Pixar Pier)! Lamplight Lounge reservation screenshot Lunch service begins at 11:00 AM, and Dinner at 4:00 PM. While a full menu is not yet available, we do have some more new menu items to share! The downstairs dining area (formerly Ariel’s Grotto) will serve “bigger bites” like a Salmon PLT (pancetta, lettuce, and tomato), a Cheddar Burger, and a savory Ratatouille. Stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph, who play the latest Marvel Super Heroes in Freeform’s all-new series “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger,” recently visited the Disneyland Resort during Pixar Fest. Aubrey Joseph plays Tyrone Johnson a.k.a. Cloak and Olivia Holt plays Tandy Bowen a.k.a. Dagger. Disney Parks super fan Olivia showed first-timer Aubrey how to have a SUPER magical day at both theme parks! First stop, they had a space ranger face-off on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park! To continue the “Toy Story” fun, the two stopped by Sleeping Beauty Castle to enjoy the delicious new Green Alien macarons. Check out Olivia’s Green Alien headband to match! “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” takes place in New Orleans, so it was fitting the pair strolled through Disneyland park’s own New Orleans Square. Next, the friends headed to Disney California Adventure park for more awesome Pixar Fest experiences. Olivia and Aubrey made their scariest faces with another famous duo, Mike and Sulley from “Monsters, Inc.” A trip to Disney California Adventure park is not complete without riding Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land. Olivia showed Aubrey one of her favorite Disney Parks attractions! Thrill seekers at heart, they visited fellow Super Heroes and rode Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Happy Global Running Day! Running has been a big part of our history at Walt Disney World Resort for more than 25 years with runDisney hosting a variety of running events that feature races for people of all ages and abilities. Between Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris and multiple virtual events, magic can be found along every mile with unique character and entertainment experiences along the race courses. In celebration of Global Running Day, we recently had an opportunity to chat with Olympian Paula Radcliffe, a British long-distance runner, current women’s marathon world record holder and the runDisney Ambassador for this year’s Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend. Check out some of her insights on running, which we hope will inspire you to grab your sneakers and start running toward a happier and healthier lifestyle. What are the greatest benefits of running? The fun, the health benefits (both mental and physical), the awareness of your body, the friends you make and the camaraderie of the running community. The fact that you can do it wherever you are and that it’s a great way to meet people and discover new places. What makes runDisney races special or unique? I think it’s the way in which they [Disney] combine the unique magic of Disney with the joy of running. Families can come and achieve their running targets while enjoying a wonderful weekend as a family where everyone gets something out of it and goes home happy after a magical weekend. How fun was it to run through Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Paris? It is really fun and to do so at night or early morning when it’s all lit up makes it even more special. It is an experience that you can only do when you take part in the Disney races and that makes it more special and unique. What is your favorite runDisney race and why? I think for me it’s the 5km in Paris because I can share it with my children. I have had so much fun and pleasure running, so to be able to see them start to do the same and to share their joy is very special indeed. Do you have any recommendations for anyone running their first runDisney race? Sign up with family or friends and build up the training gradually so that you can get the best fun experience. Try and stay in or close to the park to make the race easier and make a whole celebratory weekend out of it to get the most from the experience. What advice do you have for people who want to start running but just can’t seem to get started? Pick a small fun race like a Disney 5k. Sign up with some friends and train together in preparation. Then make a great weekend of it and be sure to treat yourself afterwards when you achieve your goal. Are you inspired? I know we are! Back in March, I shared with you the exciting news of our incredible itinerary lineup for summer 2019, including first-time visits to seven new ports in Europe. In the coming weeks, we’re going to dive into these new itineraries and destinations, starting with one that I’m especially looking forward to … For the first time ever, Disney Cruise Line guests can experience the world-renowned splendor of Rome as a bookend experience during one special eight-night sailing in June 2019. Not only does this voyage transport guests to gorgeous Mediterranean locales in Italy, Spain and France, but it also offers more opportunities to explore The Eternal City before and after their cruise! In Rome, travelers can journey back in time to imperial glory at the Colosseum and Roman Forum, then experience the extravagance of the Baroque era at the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and St. Peter’s Basilica. In the city’s famous piazzas (public squares), ornate classical design provides the backdrop for lively society, shopping and dining. And around every corner awaits authentic culinary delights, from homemade pasta and indulgent gelato to impeccable local wines and rich espresso coffees. Guests can even add some extra Disney magic to their vacation with an Adventures by Disney Short Escape. This three-night, pre-cruise itinerary gives families VIP access to some of Rome’s most well-known sites and attractions, including an exclusive after-hours visit to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. All that, and we haven’t even embarked on the cruise yet! Once aboard the Disney Magic, guests will sail to Salerno, Italy, where they can set out on excursions to the mystifying remnants of Pompeii and the exquisite Amalfi coast. A stop in La Spezia, Italy, follows a day at sea and offers opportunities to discover Renaissance gems in Florence and snap a bucket-list photo with the Leaning Tower of Pisa! From there, guests will be whisked away to Villefranche and Marseilles, France, and Barcelona, Spain, three iconic coastal cities known for architectural marvels, palette-pleasing dishes and sought-after shopping scenes. In case you were wondering, we are still making our way through the extensive, ever-evolving Pixar Fest food, and we’re still loving ever minute of it. Today we’re at Refreshment Corner — often referred to as Coke Corner (which we like because alliteration) — and we’re digging into a hot dog that’s got so much good stuff on it that we already want another. Refreshment Corner — a/k/a Coke Corner Refreshment Corner is located on Main Street, U.S.A., making it a super convenient place to pick up a quick bite. The focus here is on quick eats in hot dog form, including a Pastrami Dog and a Chili Cheese Dog. But in our quest to conquer the creative eats of Pixar Fest (which continues through September 3!), we went straight for the Western Dog! Western Dog The Western Dog — inspired by Toy Story‘s Woody, Jessie, and Woody’s Round Up friends — is loaded with awesomeness. The All-Beef Hot Dog is topped with BBQ Sauce, Jack Cheese, Bacon, Onion Straws, and Chives. This is all packed into an Artisan Bun. Of course, “packed” is the operative word here because the bun can barely contain all that good stuff! Western Dog The bun is good, though! It’s soft and a decent size, it’s just… well… the toppings here are outrageous (as is often the case with specialty hot dogs at the Disney Parks!). Check out that hot dog! Western Dog The Onion Straws are dark and crunchy — the perfect texture element for the dog. The BBQ Sauce is generously drizzled, with a little bit managing to get into every bite. And while the Chives might seem like a throw away, they actually add a nice element of freshness to the otherwise ultra savory, slightly heavy dog. Western Dog And in case you’re wondering what’s up with the bacon, it’s two full sized strips of well-cooked bacon — no piddly bacon bits tossed haphazardly on top. Nope — the Western Dog takes its bacon surrrrriously. Western Dog Cross-Section So, look: we want the Jack Cheese to be melty and stringy, and it’s not. But the Western Dog still totally rocks. It comes with a bag of Lays Potato Chips for $9.49 — and it’s definitely big enough (and filling enough) to share. So if you’re snacking your way through Pixar Fest, don’t skip this dog! On May 27, 2018, Pandora — the World of AVATAR celebrated its first birthday! And while the Animal Kingdom’s newest land didn’t have a Pandoran smash cake, we did stop in to retry some of the eats that’ve fueled many a journey down the Na’vi River and on the back of a banshee for Flight of Passage! Pandora — The World of AVATAR Pandora features two distinct eateries: quick service winner Satu’li Canteen, where customizable bowls have been bowling over diners since it opened! — and snack stand Pongu Pongu, which means Party Party and is basically just that in cups and wrappers! :p Pongu Pongu Pongu Pongu is conveniently located near the exit of Flight of Passage, which is really just ’round the corner from the entrance to Flight of Passage, so whether you’re coming or going, Pongu Pongu reigns for your FoP snacking. Pongu Pongu We’ve enjoyed the limited menu here since day one, but we wondered how the newly minted one-year-old was holding up. Also we wanted an excuse to eat and drink these items again, so here we are. We started with the Pongu Lumpia, a simple and delicious hand-held snack. This nondescript spring roll is filled with Pineapples and Cream Cheese, fried, and sprinkled with sugar. Pongu Lumpia The Pongu Lumpia is just as good as ever! The wonton wrapper is fried to light golden brown, and the sweet filling is indulgent without being too heavy. Incidentally, lumpia is a popular snack in Indonesia and the Philippines, where they’re usually served savory. But this sweet version? Awesome! Pongu Lumpia By far the most popular beverage at Pongu Pongu is a colorful concoction called the Night Blossom. This non-alcoholic drink is a mix of Limeade with apple and desert pear flavors topped off with every party drink’s favorite boba balls — these in passion fruit flavor! It’s fun to look at, refreshing to drink, and taaaaaasty! Night Blossom For those who prefer a little liquid courage when braving the Pandoran wilderness, the Mo’ara Margarita is Sauza Conmemorativo Anejo Tequila with strawberry and blood orange flavors, topped with strawberry boba balls. The combination of strawberry and blood orange is unique (although we’d like the blood orange to be more prominent), it’s a great, cooling drink for a Pandoran summer.
