A new dining experience will soon be offered at Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar in Disney Springs. Get ready for Sunday Supper at Enzo’s Hideaway! Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant Starting June 17th at 4:00 pm, Sunday Supper will be available at this Prohibition-era speakeasy. Enzo’s Hideaway and Tunnel Bar Sunday Supper includes an Antipasto Board Starter, a Rigatoni Pasta course, Meats (with fingerling potatoes and seasonal vegetables) and Assorted Sweets and Ice Cream for Dessert. Last summer we shared news of the new Minnie Van transportation service available at Walt Disney World Resort. Today, we’re excited to share that the service is now available for everyone at Walt Disney World Resort, through the Lyft app. The service offers a comfy and convenient way for guests to travel to and from our theme parks, to dining reservations at our resort hotels, family gatherings, shopping sprees at Disney Springs and much more in a jiffy. The private vans are roomy, comfortable and usually only minutes away. Each driver is a friendly Disney Cast Member trained to take you where you need to be—safely and with a smile. How does it work? Just download the Lyft app on your mobile device, open it from anywhere at Walt Disney World Resort and select the Minnie Van service option. Then, follow the steps below: Confirm your current pickup location. Enter your Walt Disney World Resort destination and tap “Request.” The app will display a map tracking the vehicle en route and give you an identifying vehicle number to help you spot your car. With Lyft, you can request your ride from your smartphone and pay right through the app. The new Minnie Van service is an easy and friendly way to whisk your family off to the magic! It’s full speed ahead for Hong Kong Disneyland! Last week, the resort opened the first new entertainment offering of its multi-year expansion plan – “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” – and work is underway to bring even more exciting experiences to life almost every year through 2023. A new Marvel attraction will bring guests into the action alongside Ant-Man and The Wasp to battle Arnim Zola and his army of Hydra swarm bots. This attraction will be part of an entire Marvel-themed area coming to Hong Kong Disneyland as part of the expansion. The park will soon invite guests into an immersive “Frozen”-themed area with new dining, shopping and entertainment. This image may look familiar, but take a closer look! Located on Sunset Boulevard, Rosie’s All-American Cafe at Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a counter service joint serving up — you guessed it! — American style eats amidst World War II-inspired decor. In the past this place has been one of my least favorite counter service spots. But recently…there have been some changes! Rosie’s All-American Café Updated menu items include a Fried Green Tomato Sandwich…and this awesome and amazing new snack that’s been added to the menu! Since Rosie’s dishing up eats in the shadow of Tower of Terror and is a convenient spot to grab a snack, we were pretty excited to try something new-ish from her kitchen: Onion Straws with Texas Petal Sauce. Onion Straws with Texas Petal Sauce We say new-ish because the Onion Straws have been available as a side on Mobile Ordering for a while, but since they weren’t on the posted menu at the counter, most guests didn’t even know they were an option! Rosie’s All-American Cafe Fried Onion Straws But they’re here — and we’re digging the savory straws, which, if we’re being honest, are somewhere between straw and petal thickness. Onion Straws Inside is sweet onion fried nicely in batter. Seriously, these are exactly what you want and expect from an onion straw/petal dish! And thankfully they tasted freshly prepared; no heavy greasiness with these, which is welcome in the Florida heat. Onion Straws with Texas Petal Sauce The Texas Petal Sauce is standard fare — like the straws themselves — but we say that’s a good thing! The Tambu Lounge in Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort is a well-loved spot. Known for cocktails like the Lapu Lapu (served in a pineapple) and the Backscratcher as well as single servings of ‘Ohana’s famous Bread Pudding, it’s not a Disney vacation for many guests without a stop at this little cove. Tambu Lounge But change is coming to Tambu Lounge. According to Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages on Facebook, Tambu will close after the 4th of July and will remain closed for about two months. This temporary closure will result in an expansion to the lounge to add another well for a barterer, and also add a side station for a cocktail server. Lapu Lapu at the Tambu Lounge During the closure, a temporary bar will be set up to serve ‘Ohana and walk-up guests, but no bar seating will be available. Other options for grabbing a drink at the Polynesian include the Barefoot Pool Bar, the Oasis Bar & Grill, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, and Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace. Everyone I know – cast members, guests and, of course, Disney Parks Blog readers – are counting down the days until Toy Story Land opens at Walt Disney World Resort. We just can’t wait to #PlayBig in this exciting new area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios! And speaking of “playing big,” even the animal residents at Rafiki’s Planet Watch got in on the excitement earlier this week when the Pixar Ball stopped by the park for some enrichment playtime. Enrichment is just one of the tools used to provide excellent care for our animals. Animal care experts enrich animal habitats with the intention of encouraging behaviors like bat, chase, kick, nudge, paw, sniff and generally having a great time. Animal care experts also rely on positive training methods that encourage animals to participate in their daily health care and challenge them to stay mentally active. Check out the video above to watch these barnyard animals have a blast with the ball. First, enjoy a high-speed catamaran cruise along North America’s longest and deepest fjord, Lynn Canal, watching for whales along the way as you glide past breathtaking glaciers and cascading waterfalls. Your nature watching continues once you settle into your kayak on Chilkoot Lake, home to bald eagles, waterfowl and all five species of Pacific salmon. Keep your eyes on the shoreline as the area has one of the highest concentrations of brown bears in southeast Alaska! Glacier Lake Kayak & White Pass Rail Adventure – This kayaking adventure takes place on the crystal-clear waters of a glacially carved lake in the rugged Canadian Highlands. One thing I love about the musical talent found at the Disneyland Resort is that it’s always unique. The seven-piece band known as The Pixarmonic Orchestra is certainly no exception! Here to celebrate Pixar Fest, The Pixarmonic Orchestra (presented by TripleDent Gum from the Pixar film “Inside Out,” of course!) performs an array of musical styles in a fun and upbeat fashion that fits the Pixar tunes perfectly. The group performs its repertoire of songs using traditional instruments, as well as unconventional music makers such as cowbells, kazoos, duck calls, sirens and slide whistles. Even their costumes are zany! Bold plaid patterns are blended with a mid-century modern style, which suits their music style perfectly. Check out video below! Just like Dory in “Finding Nemo,” my memory is a bit challenged. In many ways, it is the bane of my existence and a blessing in others. For example, my sister Geri often asks if I remember details from our trip to Europe…”you know, that little café in Florence we loved” or “the time we saw the Champs-Élysées.” I go blank. Nope. Nothing in the memory banks. On the other hand, I can watch a movie a thousand times and never remember the ending. Does that sound like someone (or some fish) we know and love? Yes, it’s true, I’m Dory’s twin (minus the fins and blue scales). This month marks the 15th anniversary of meeting our favorite fish family in “Finding Nemo.” At the Walt Disney World Resort, we have a few guest offerings inspired by the film – including the wonderfully colorful “Finding Nemo – The Musical” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and The Seas With Nemo & Friends at Epcot. We’ve known for some time that the immersive Star Wars Resort is going to be — according to Disney — “seamlessly connected” to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios, which is slated to open in late fall 2019. Entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios The experience will be unlike any other Disney destination anywhere. Guests will board a starship “that comes alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during their voyage through the galaxy.” It will also come alive by way of its setting, with every cabin window offering views of space.
