Walt Disney World has announced the dates — and already is selling tickets for — the 2018 editions of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, two extra-ticket, after-hours events at Magic Kingdom theme park. The Not-So-Scary dates are Aug. 17, 24, 28 and 31;... View the full article

So…a poutine cloud apparently burst over Orlando and now you can get varieties of this relatively obscure French Canadian pub grub delicacy pretty much everywhere in Disney World. There’s even a dining spot completely dedicated to poutine. The dish traditionally consists of French fries covered in cheese curds and brown gravy, and Canadians will cheerfully tell you that NONE of the dishes below qualify. Yet they’re called Poutine on the menu, and since we love french fries with stuff piled on top of them, we’re happy to tally them up for you! Oh, and here’s some real Canadian poutine for reference. Here’s some real Canadian poutine for reference… So here’s the Disney World Poutine Crawl! Cheddar Cheese Poutine — Refreshment Port, Epcot Cheddar Cheese Poutine is the most recent addition to the poutine World and can be found at the Refreshment Port in Epcot. Refreshment Port This version of poutine is covered in Le Cellier’s Cheddar Cheese Soup, which is indulgent and packed with bacon (recipe here!). And now guests can grab a plate of Cheddar Cheese Poutine (or a cup of the soup by itself) without a coveted ADR! Cheddar Cheese Poutine also has the traditional cheese curds and some golden French fries. Oui, please! Cheddar Cheese Poutine Kobe Beef Brisket Poutine — Nomad Lounge, Animal Kingdom Nomad Lounge has become pretty well known for its adventurous drinks and eats, so we were stoked to discover Kobe Beef Brisket Poutine on the Lounge’s small plates menu! Nomad Lounge This poutine is super classy, y’all. The bed of thick-cut fries is covered in Kobe-style beef brisket, house-made mozzarella, and savory pan sauce. Plus there’s extra cheese sauce on the bottom of the bowl! This poutine is a must! Pan Sauce on the Poutine (where it belongs!) Classic, French, Italian, Latin, and Seasonal Poutine — The Daily Poutine, Disney Springs You know a snack has made it to the upper echelons when it has a spot named after it — and thus we have The Daily Poutine! The best part about the menu at The Daily Poutine is that there are always several varieties to try. The Daily Poutine Classic Poutine features the fries, curds, and brown gravy of poutine’s birth. (This is the closest to authentic Canadian poutine currently found anywhere in Disney World.) Classic Poutine Latin Poutine has fried yucca, black beans, pulled pork, and queso fresco. Latin Poutine French Poutine is super fancy, with mushroom cream sauce and Gruyere cheese! Ooh, la la! French Poutine The last everyday poutine option at The Daily Poutine is Italian: mozzarella cheese and Bolognese sauce! Italian Poutine Annnnnnd The Daily Poutine also features specialty versions that change from time to time! Cheeseburger Poutine was totally delicious, featuring fried cheese curds, and pickles!! Cheeseburger Poutine And the Holiday Turkey Poutine was Thanksgiving in a handy bowl! Holiday Turkey Poutine And lest breakfast feel left out, we’ve also seen All Day Breakfast Poutine with tater tots! Sausage gravy and a sunny side up egg? Worth getting up for! All-Day Breakfast Poutine The Daily Poutine is the mecca of Disney World poutine. Secret Menu Poutine — Disney’s All Star Movies Resort Who doesn’t like a side of intrigue with their French fry masterpieces? You’ll find the Secret Menu Poutine at World Premier Food Court at All-Star Movies! You’ll view the secret menu on this little piece of nostalgia: Secret Menu Viewer at World Premier Food Court The Secret Menu Poutine is a huge portion of fries under cheese curds and dark brown gravy. So this is classic poutine served in the funnest way possible! Secret Menu Poutine There’s s whole process for asking for the secret menu at All Star Movies, so you’ll definitely want to check out the DFB Guide’s YouTube video sharing this secret menu — it’s totally awesome. Sock Hop Fries — Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, Disney’s Beach Club Resort Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is one of our favorite spots to grab a burger and some ice cream (you’ll find at Beach Club on the walkway near Stormalong Bay!), and it also happens to be home to Sock Hop Fries. Beaches and Cream Entrance Now we admit, Sock Hop Fries (also called Gravy Fries!) aren’t technically poutine, but we’ve already seen that Disney takes plenty of leeway when creating these plates of French fry goodness. So we’ll give Sock Hop Fries a pass because they have all the flavors of classic poutine: brown gravy and white cheddar shredded cheese (instead of curds). They’re so messy and delicious. We love them. Gravy Fries Carolina Mess — House of Blues, Disney Springs In Disney Springs’ West Side, guests can munch on Carolina Mess at the House of Blues. House of Blues Carolina Mess is a plate of fries covered in pulled pork, jalapenos, cheese, and brown gravy. Quite the combo. It’s a southern take on the Canadian classic! Montreal Poutine and Signature Poutine — Le Cellier Steakhouse, Epcot You can’t talk about poutine without talking about Le Cellier, the signature table service residing in the Canada Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. This place represents the birthplace of poutine — and Le Cellier has some tasty options on its menu. Le Cellier Montreal Poutine is fresh-cut French fries, Montreal-smoked brisket, French onion gravy, Gruyère cheese, pickled vegetable slaw, and mustard-beer sauce. Yes,that’s a lot of good stuff in one pan. But it’s just a stellar combination of flavors. Montreal Poutine The Signature Poutine is French fries, Canadian cheddar, truffles, red wine reduction. There’s not technically a brown sauce. Or cheese curds. But with ingredients like truffles and red wine reduction, this is about as fancy a poutine as you can find. And it truly IS delicious. Signature Poutine — Up Close Canadian Poutine — Paradiso 37, Disney Springs Paradiso 37 is our last stop on this tour of Walt Disney World poutine, and this version pretty crazy. Paradiso 37 Outside View FYI — there are much better restaurants than Paradiso 37 when it comes to entrees and full meals, but they do a great job with appetizers and drinks. And this particular dish caught us totally off guard. The Canadian Poutine is 100% not at all Canadian, and is basically more of a “nacho fries with gravy” than anything else. But that’s cool, cause it’s SO GOOD. Topping the fries are cheese sauce, roasted garlic gravy, braised beef, and cherry peppers. It’s a terrific combination of flavors in the spirit of poutine — and the briny peppers add a little something unique. Plus it’s heavy and built for two, so this one is party ready. Poutine So…yeah. Basically none of these are authentic Canadian poutine. But in our world, good food is good food! What are you waiting for? Get your “poutine” on! Want MORE Disney World Loaded Fries? We’ve got a BUNCH for you here! Check out our video of amazing French Fry dishes in Disney World below! This isn’t limited to Poutine — it includes plenty of other loaded fry must-eats! Fall is my favorite time of year for so many reasons (crisp weather, anyone?), and yes, I’m already planning for it! Earlier this week, we announced the dates for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival (yum) and today I’m excited to announce the dates for two of my most treasured Magic Kingdom Park events! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets start at $75 in advance or $85 at the gate, if available. When Pirates of the Caribbean reopens at Magic Kingdom Park March 19, guests will be introduced to the new version of the attraction’s auction scene we first announced last summer. Just as Walt Disney embraced and encouraged Disney Parks to “keep moving forward” since the opening of Disneyland Park in 1955, Walt Disney Imagineering has introduced many new characters at Pirates of the Caribbean attraction over the years. The pirate auctioneer now oversees a sale of the townspeople’s most prized possessions and goods. In this scene, the familiar redhead figure has switched sides to become a pirate named Redd, who’s just pillaged the town’s rum supply and has something to say about it. Check out a sneak peek at what this new scene will look like in the photo above. As we previously shared, the auction scene in the attraction at Disneyland Paris received a similar revision last year. Disneyland park will also receive similar updates to its Pirates of the Caribbean attraction later this spring, with work beginning April 23. View the full article

In our Disney Doodles series, our Disney artists take turns imaging what different Disney characters would do or see first if they had the chance to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Today, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what Phil and Hercules would do if they had the chance to visit the resort. According to her, the duo would seek out the most magical place to train while on vacation – the ESPN Wide World of Sports. “Phil is always helping Hercules train! So it’s easy to imagine him using his handy sundial to time Hercules at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports.” View the full article

Spyglass Grill is now officially open at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! This new walk-up quick service location offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and featured on the menu are popular American foods infused with classic Caribbean flavors. Here’s a look at some of the delicious new menu items they’ve cooked up! For breakfast, you’ll find some unique items like the Cream Cheese and Guava-Stuffed French Toast with fresh strawberry guava syrup! Or if pancakes are more your style, you can order the Pineapple-Banana Pancake served with crispy granola and maple syrup. If you’re looking for something on the savory side, then the Breakfast Cuban is just for you! This breakfast sandwich comes with ham, pulled pork, egg and Swiss cheese. On the lunch and dinner menus you’ll find some mouth-watering sandwiches and burgers, and I’m especially excited about the Chorizo Burger, which comes with provolone, potato straws, and my favorite part – crispy pork belly! Also featured on the menu are Chopped Jerk Chicken Salad, Plantain and Yuca Chips, and Caribbean Tacos. The tacos come with your choice of spiced fish, shredded beef, jerk chicken or vegan black beans and can be topped with pickled vegetables and cabbage, cilantro crema, cotija cheese and pico de gallo. For the kiddos, there’s a variety of options, including tacos with chicken or fish served with Mickey vegetable chips or fresh fruit. They can also get a Chopped Jerk Chicken Salad or even a Chili-Lime Shrimp Salad. And for dessert, they’ll love the Passion Fruit Tres Leche! Now, this menu wouldn’t be complete without some refreshing drinks to go with your delicious burger or tacos, right? Well there’s a little bit of everything on the drink menu from wine and beer to specialty cocktails such as the Island Margarita, Caribbean Mai Tai or Piña Colada. Sit back and enjoy the sunset or relax by the pool with a Strawberry Daiquiri, or with a nice glass of Chardonnay. For non-alcoholic options, you’ll find sodas, freshly brewed Joffrey’s Coffee, specialty coffee, hot cocoa, hot tea and even a Lava Smoothie. Spyglass Grill is located near the pool in the Trinidad South section of the Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and is a great option for guests staying at the southern end of the property. Whether you’re fueling up for a day in the parks or just need a snack while hanging out by the pool, this new quick service counter is the perfect place to chow down! View the full article

Today we’re kicking off the week on the Disney Parks Blog with an early morning snapshot from Adventureland at Disneyland Park (Paris). Here, we see the impressive Disney Pirate Galleon, where young rapscallions can explore the ship from port to starboard and even get an up-close look at canons. The area also offers pirate theme playgrounds with rope ladders, slides and even a plank. It sure looks like a fine day for adventure. View the full article

This was a response to a member that complained to the group about getting posts deleted and the consistency in deciding which posts were deleted. I thought it might help answer the same question for others so it was placed in the files section of the page. I often state when I say to keep the posts on track that they should be news and information posts about the parks or DVC, Posts should be DVC, DCL, travel or park related. We use to allow self-serving posts like "I got my Magic Bands Today!" but with the number of people in the group it is not practical to encourage those types of post anymore. They may be fun for a few but overall they do not benefit the group. Any photos from the parks are OK because members want to see them. So here is an example of 2 food photos in which one would be deleted and one not deleted: Photo one: A photo of a Mickey waffle on a plate at Crystal Palace. The sun is shining through the windows and you can see Pooh all blurry in the background. People what to see pictures from the World, especially ones that are "what's happening now" type of photos. Photo two: A picture of a Mickey waffle on a plate from your kitchen made with a MM waffle maker from Walmart with the self-serving title of. "Enjoying waffles Disney style at home. It is not in the park, it has nothing to do with the page it is just a picture of a waffle you made so it will be deleted. Our about section does state pictures from WDW are welcome. Humble brag posts will often get deleted too. Countdown posts will get deleted. I did a survey once and over 1500 members responded over one weekend that they had at least one confirmed reservation for a WDW stay. Posting your countdown is for your personal page, on here everyone is going to Disney and you are not unique. Thank God most of the members realize that and don't post DME docs, Magic Bands, and countdowns, the page would be overrun by them. Duplicate posts will get deleted. A rumor like the Hollywood Studios name change spawned several posts. Everyone wants to show they are so in the know so they don't check the page first, they just post. Now if you want to follow the comments they are all spread out among multiple posts and I want to keep the page as streamlined as a page with this many members can be. People comment and the same news bounces all over the page. Part of my reasoning has to do with the way FB delivers content to your news feed which I won't get into. Multiple posts also push down the posts of people that have a question and I would rather have someone’s question answered about DVC then a ton of posts about the same news story. Consistency, You don't know what is going on in the admins life so if you see a type of post that is up but you had one similar that was removed it is because we aren't on FB. The thing to remember is it is just managing the page it is nothing personal. Overall it is easy to figure out what should and should not be posted here. Ask yourself does this benefit the members of the group or am I posting this to self-serve my ego or to make others jealous etc. Id the topic about WDW, Traveling to WDW, DCL, DVC properties outside of WDW, or any aspect of park touring (example FastPass, Memory Maker, TIW, DDP etc…) and a little about Disneyland. I use this philosophy when deciding to delete or not. The posts that fall in the middle (B) are the ones that are not black and white and some will be left up and some will be deleted on a case by case basis. If I feel the posts falls on the hard left (A) it is deleted without question. Posts that fall on the right (C) are the type of posts that get all the likes. Members do ask for deletion clarification but I don't have the time to PM people every time I delete something. I will respond to those that PM me if I remember to check my "other" folder. Those that complain on the page get booted because it states in the rules to not take up admin issues publicly and to PM them.

..about the Group Read the rules and group information. Maybe reread it and read again. A place for Disney Vacation Club owners who like to discuss, debate, answer questions, help others & post pictures of Disney and the Resorts. We do allow people in that would like to learn more about owning DVC. A number of people cannot handle any criticism of DVC, The Walt Disney Company and their theme parks in general; if you are the type of person that feels like YOU are being personally attacked when you read critical comments, news stories, criticisms about your post and/or blogs about Walt Disney World that you may not agree with, I STRONGLY suggest you DO NOT join this group. We try to maintain a PG-13 rating at worst here. No F bombs or memes with F bombs. I thought this would be something people would just understand but since you are reading it you can be sure it happens. Please keep your word use to those that would be considered young child friendly. Please read the Rules under the Files. This is VERY important and will answer most of your questions. (repetitive but a must) We also have two sponsors in this group. One for DVC Resales, DVC Resale Market and another for DVC Rentals, DVC-Rental.com. You will see their company logo in the cover photo. They both are trusted names in the industry and have done business for many years with great reviews. You will also see them comment in their respective fields. Many in this group have used them. Please feel free to ask members about their experiences. We try to be drama free but at times it happens. People are people. We find that new groups are formed, trolls hide and people are attacked as well as members being PM'd or talked about in other groups. Basically join another group to do exactly what they claim we do. WE DO NOT ADVOCATE this at all. YOU WILL be purged from the group if found. This is FB after all. No need to take it serious. Just be courteous to others and all will be well. As always Mods & Admins can be found in the members tab. I understand you may disagree with a MOD or ADMIN. If you feel the need to block a MOD (this should really never happen) for whatever reason you must get ADMIN approval or you will be booted. You can never block an ADMIN. No roll calls, countdowns or posts of hidden Mickey’s that is not located on Disney property please. This is not something one will get removed for but with the number of members we have posts of those nature can take over the page so they are often deleted. It is nothing personal just housekeeping. There are plenty of other groups that love those posts so we let them have the market share of those while we stick to accurate news, information and question answering often with a little bit of snarkiness. Thanks for your support!

Please don’t break the rules then have someone check the rules to see why you were banned. Be proactive. We reserve the right to remove any topics we deem inappropriate or disruptive to our community. Please note that, from time to time, topics may be removed for being inappropriate even though your individual post in that topic may have been perfectly fine. Please do not feel this reflects badly on you. We may also close the comments if the question has been answered. No reason to beat a dead horse The banning/blocking of an Admin/Moderator will automatically have all your posts deleted and you will be banned from Group. We do not censor opinions or ideas in this Group, but we do take action against posts and/or topics that could cause unrest in the community beyond a civil and polite disagreement. Be prepared for your opinion to be challenged. You may NOT make personal attacks on other users, Admins or Moderators either in public forums or private messages. Debating or correcting is not bullying. You will automatically be banned from the group. Try not use profanity. This one is tricky….... There will be no racial, gender based insults or any other personal discrimination. There will be no posts meant to offend or hurt any other member, in a manner which is offensive or inflammatory. Debating or correcting is not bullying or offending someone. Pornography or any other illegal transactions may NOT be linked in any shape or form. Users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via PM. If the problem cannot be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the Admin. The Admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions. Pictures may be posted as long as they are not explicit or offensive. If posting many pictures please make an album for said pictures. We've decided when posting pictures with children we would appreciate that the children's faces be blurred. We will automatically delete a comment or post that we feel reveals too much or shows a child's identity without warning or even reading the post. Spamming, advertising, posting or linking other groups or pages & commercial-related products are all forbidden in any relation to this Group without the permission of the Admin. “Cold PMing” is also not allowed. Only PM someone if they ask you to. Gofundme or charity posts are not allowed period. We will delete with no warning We have decided to let people in the group if they are added by someone. The only way we allow this is if they answer the questions. This will let us know they are OK with joining the group. If you are caught posting screenshots from this group in any other group, website, or blog for any reason, you will be banned. If you are caught using any photos our admins or members post here without their permission, you will be banned. This group is closed which provides some level of security to the members. Members friends cannot view any content in this group unless they are in here. Most members like this security. I have posted about this in the past but it seems another group/members wanted it to be spelled out in rule format. No videos, or live streaming of any kind will be permitted except for the Admins and Moderators of the group. We know it’s fun to watch but if we let everyone do it the feed would get saturated with videos. Selling and/or renting points. All transactions between members are between members. This group does not have any control of the sale or if the sale goes bad. Use good judgement as there really is no recourse for a bad transaction. Doing so is at your own risk. That is why we use sponsors that have a legal business and are reputable. Please do not create conversations and post pricing. Create a post that you want to sell or rent points and ask members to PM you. Please do not hijack another post where someone is trying to rent/sell their points. Start your own. It creates a better environment for the group and doesn’t clog up the feed. Any impersonation of a user from this Group (i.e. FAKE profiles), in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in banning if/when found. This could lead to your friends/family as well. We reserve the right to ban any member who violates our guidelines or disrupts our community. We will be fair and will not provide warning or reason in most cases due to the size of this group. Also if you have been Muted please don't PM us to ask why. Read the rules. You broke one of them. Just wait till your allowed to comment again. We took the Muting as a warning approach. Take it as such. Until there is an easier way, this is what we have. We are not allowing countdowns/roll calls. We know it's exciting. We are excited too. So why not allow it? Because everyone here is going back and we don't need to know how long you have been a member. The feed would be consumed by the countdowns and roll calls as well as everyone else's feed. If you have an issue concerning our policies, or Admins, please use a personal contact method such email to an Admin or Moderator. All moderators and administrators are in the active members list. We take serious complaints to heart and will do our best to address them. We are volunteers so we might not take immediate action. Violation of any of these rules will result in consequences determined on a case-by-case basis.

Velkommem to Midnattssol Bakeri in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion! Midnattssol Bakeri temporary location This little kiosk (which may look familiar to fans of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival) has some big shoes to fill. You see, it’s the spot for Norwegian snack goodies while Kringla Bakeri og Kafe is undergoing a fairly extensive refurbishment. Kringla Bakeri og Kafe closed for refurbishment We mentioned this temporary location a few weeks ago while we were visiting the pavilion on our way around World Showcase to try every single item at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. At the time, you could only grab a few treats at the small Norway Beer Cart. But now, Midnattssol is up and running, so let’s see which of your favorite Norway snacks are up for grabs while it’s here! Midnattssol Bakeri temporary location For the most part, offerings are as expected. Midnattssol Bakeri menu I mean, what’s a trip to the Norway Pavilion without a Chocolate Pretzel, Lefse (for those of you who are fans :), or Rice Cream? Rice Cream And I know I don’t feel like I’ve been to the Norway Pavilion unless I’ve had some School Bread! School Bread at Midnattssol My School Bread couldn’t resist having its picture snapped with the Anna and Elsa topiary for the Flower & Garden Festival . School Bread with Anna and Elsa Anyway, they’re all here, along with one for the excited little Frozen fans who just met Anna and Elsa at the Royal Sommerhus, or rode Frozen Ever After — that’s Anna’s Birthday Cake. And the Norwegian Club is available for heartier appetites. But the one brand new — and COMPLETELY unexpected — item is the Viking Dog, which you’ll now see Cast Members assembling per order at Midnattssol. Viking Dog It’s an advertised ONE-POUND (is that even possible?!) all-beef hot dog topped with purple cabbage, spicy mayo, and fried onions. Viking Dog There’s even bacon tucked inside because… Vikings. They must love bacon, too, right? Bacon I don’t know if it’s a full pound, but this thing is HUGE. And I won’t vouch for it’s authenticity, either. But it’s tasty, fun, and it may even give us an idea of what might be served at Kringla Bakeri when it reopens. Do you think? Speaking of the reopening…. Kringla Bakeri og Kafe is closed through this summer. This rather lengthy refurbishment is expected to result in an expanded bakery. And as you approach the currently closed Kringla… Kringla Bakeri og Kafe closed for refurbishment …you may also notice that the entrance to its next door neighbor — the Puffin’s Roost merchandise location — is closed, too. Puffin’s Roost main entrance While we could not get a specific answer when we asked the Cast Members in Norway, it certainly looks as though the expanded Kringla location may very well go into the Puffin’s Roost. Of course, you can still find plenty o’ merch at the Wandering Reindeer as you exit Frozen Ever After. And the popular Laila perfume also remains up for grabs even though the merchandise locations are operating in limited capacity. Merchandise Location So, that’s the current view from Norway! We look forward to finding out what’s in store for Kringla Bakeri og Kafe when it reopens later this year! But we’re sure glad we don’t have to give up our School Bread while we wait… thanks, Midnattssol Bakeri!! Don’t forget to sign up for the DFB Newsletter here so you never miss a beat of Disney News!
