One of the hallmarks of the Epcot World Showcase pavilions is their ongoing mission to bring authentic cultural experiences to our guests. From live entertainment, to our cultural representative Cast Members, to film experiences showcasing majestic vistas of the countries, we strive to give guests a glimpse of the people, culture and history of the country through art, dining and architecture. For some countries, that includes an exhibition of authentic cultural art. Recently, we told you about updates to the art gallery in Mexico, and more exciting work is underway to refresh the gallery in Norway. Also coming this summer to the American Heritage Gallery at The American Adventure is a brand new exhibition called “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art”. “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art” is made possible through the collaboration of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington, D.C. Among the featured artists with works on display are fashion designer Loren Aragon (Acoma Pueblo), noted doll maker Glenda McKay (Ingalik-Athabascan), and Juanita Growing Thunder (Assiniboine Sioux) from the Growing Thunder family of Montana. As with other exhibitions that have graced the American Heritage Gallery, this new exhibition will feature interactive elements, where some of the artists will share the creative process and inspirations behind their works in their own words. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for updates to all the of the art exhibitions at Epcot, including an opening date for “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art.” View the full article

Spring has sprung at Walt Disney World Resort, and if you stop to smell the flowers, you might just smell some new snacks being cooked up at Magic Kingdom Park! There’s an enchanting array of new offerings now available, and even more coming soon. Perfect for the season, we’ve got a brand-new Flower Crown Cupcake available at Main Street Bakery. This beautiful vanilla cupcake is filled with raspberry buttercream and topped with a buttercream flower crown and hard candy Minnie Ears. This yummy treat is the perfect Spring snack, and even makes for a good photo opportunity. Just grab some Crochet Floral Minnie Ears from your favorite Disney shop and pose for the camera with your flowery cupcake in hand! Just across the street at Casey’s Corner, you’ll find a brand-new refreshing beverage – a Mint Julip Lemonade Slushy! This non-alcoholic lemonade slushy comes with mojito-flavored syrup, and a cherry, mint and lemon garnish. And we can’t forget about the popular Hot Dog of the Month. While there’s only a few days left in March, don’t miss your chance to try the Greek Hot Diggity Dog! And for April’s Hot Dog of the Month, you’ll find the Cuban Hot Diggity Dog, topped with Mojo pork, relish, swiss, and mustard. These special “of the month” toppings can even be added to an order of fries! At Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, March’s Ice Cream of the Month was Dulce De Leche, and April’s flavor will be Cookie Dough – yummy! But the ice cream doesn’t stop there – a Brownie Sundae and an Apple Blossom Sundae have also been added to the menu! Right next door at The Plaza Restaurant, you’ll find March’s Milkshake of the Month: Coffee Mint, with mint chocolate ice cream, coffee, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry. And for April, the Milkshake of the Month will be a Caramel Turtle Milkshake with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, caramel sauce and walnuts. In Fantasyland, Pinocchio Village Haus has added an Italian Cream Cake to the dessert menu. This lemon cakes comes topped with cream cheese icing, toasted coconut and a white chocolate piece featuring everyone’s favorite Conscious – Jiminy Cricket! As for the Flatbread of the Month – March’s flatbread is Buffalo Chicken. And since April is National Grilled Cheese Month, the April Flatbread of the Month will be a Grilled Cheese Flatbread with ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, swiss and cheddar and served with a side of tomato-basil soup for dipping! At Be Our Guest Restaurant, I recently posted about an exciting new dinner menu coming this summer, and I now have the scoop on the fabulous dessert trio. This trio will have a raspberry macaron with lemon filling and fresh raspberries, a whole maraschino cherry dipped in dark chocolate with hazelnut topping, and a white chocolate Chip cup with our signature Grey Stuff! It will also be exclusive to the dinner menu. At Gaston’s Tavern, you’ll find a new Ham, Brie and Grain Mustard Sandwich as well as a Smoked Turkey, Swiss and Cranberry Aïoli Sandwich. In Tomorrowland, Sonny Eclipse has a new dessert at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café – a cookies & cream cheese cake topped with chocolate, galaxy sprinkles and a white-chocolate piece featuring the amazingly-talented Sonny Eclipse himself. And over at Liberty Square, you’ll find a crisp new Shrimp Wedge Salad at Columbia Harbour House. And finally, in Adventureland, I’ve got a fruit-tastic update to the menu at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Our famous Citrus Swirl, the classic frozen orange juice slushy twisted with vanilla soft-serve ice cream, has been joined by the new Orange Cream swirl! This new swirl twists together vanilla soft-serve ice cream with Orange Dole® Soft-Serve to create a tasty new citrus-flavored treat. Both of these swirls are now available in a cup, or as a float with refreshing orange soda. So there you have it. Magic Kingdom Park is buzzing with tasty excitement this spring, so come on out and try all of these delicious new offerings! View the full article

There are many reasons why I enjoy visiting Walt Disney World Resort at night: I don’t have to apply sunblock, some of my favorite outdoor attractions really shine after dark, the illuminations from the lights create excellent photo opportunities, and for whatever reason, I always adopt a slower pace at night and find the time to enjoy the ambiance. But my absolute favorite reason to embrace the night-owl mentality is thanks to all of the stunning entertainment offered after the sun goes down. Whether it’s fireworks, projections, lasers, dancing water, or special effects, each experience is a fitting finale to the day. No matter how many times I see it, I still get goosebumps when the Tree of Life awakens, when the music of Star Wars starts to play as pyrotechnics burst, and when my favorite stories play out on Cinderella Castle and in the sky. Here are some of my favorite photos of these night time experiences, taken by Disney PhotoPass Service: Want to see more photos like these? Follow the Disney PhotoPass Service Instagram page! Colorful and texturized “Disney Walls” have become popular photo locations for guests visiting a Disney theme park, with many guests posting their favorite wall photos on Instagram and Twitter. Beyond the parks, Disney Vacation Club Resorts also offer some playful backdrops that are a little less known (until now). Here are a few of my favorite #WallsofDVC and where you can find them at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney’s BoardWalk Villas In addition to the iconic (and easy to locate) photo locale featured at the top of this post, you’ll also find the perfect striped setting outside Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk that can be used for stunning close-ups or elevated vertical shots. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas – Jambo House This photo was taken at my favorite “hidden gem” location at Jambo House. Head down the corridors leading to the accommodations on the third floor of this Resort and you’ll find little tucked away balconies, perfect for looking out onto the savanna. Not only does this offer a quiet spot to take in animal viewing, it also provides the perfect setting to capture photo backdrops with dramatic height! Disney’s Old Key West Resort Head on over to the original Disney Vacation Club Resort, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, where you’ll find two of my favorite photo spots. This first snap was taken right outside the Resort check-in area. It even comes complete with fun props! Each of the Resort buildings also offer a ton of fun photo backdrops in blue, pink, yellow and more. Pick your favorite shade and play to capture to perfect family vacation pic. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa It’s easy being green at this colorful spot, located near the High Rock Spring Pool. Embrace Spring by wearing candy-colored pastels, or go for bold primary colors like this couple did and snap a photo that really pops! In fact, there are so many Instagram-worthy backdrops at Disney Vacation Club Resorts that I couldn’t include them here. Stay tuned for another post, which will highlight a few “must visit” spots at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Be sure to share your own favorite photos taken at Disney Vacation Club Resorts on Instagram! View the full article

Wasabi Shumai Steamed Pork Dumplings at Japan Japan has been hitting out of the park during the last few Festivals at Epcot (including this year’s Festival of the Arts and Flower and Garden Festival). Smoked Beef Brisket and Pimento Cheese Served on Griddled Garlic Toast at Hops & Barley The brisket in this dish has been perfect each time it’s featured at Hops and Barley. Smoked Beef Brisket and Pimento Cheese served on Griddled Garlic Toast Definitely ask for extra cheese on this one, too! Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip with Sourdough Baguette at Coastal Eats Coastal Eats was new in 2017, and if it returns this year we hope they bring back this dip – it WOWED us! Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip with Sourdough Baguette The Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip was buttery and amazing. You definitely want to try it this year if it’s back! Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip with Irish Brown Bread at Ireland The Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip from Ireland is SO good you won’t want to share it with anyone. Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip with Irish Brown Bread Also? Skip the bread and just eat it with a spoon. You can thank us later. Tequila Chipotle Shrimp at Mexico Mexico always has a shrimp dish, but 2017’s Tequila Chipotle Shrimp was a winner! Tequila Chipotle Shrimp The flavors were great and even the presentation wowed us with this dish. Find All the Information on the 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Here! Those are seven dishes that we really hope come back this year, but we can’t forget about a couple of our other standby favorites! In today’s Disney Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what Pascal from the 2010 film “Tangled” would do if he had the chance to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom. According to Ashley, he’d seek out the ideal place that would make him feel at home – like the park’s iconic Tree of Life. “Pascal is always looking for places to blend in!” she said. “He could easily spend hours in the Tree of Life undetected with all of the animal carvings to camouflage him!” View the full article

Reservations will begin on April 4 for workshops and private-lounge access at Reunion Station, a new gathering space for Members opening April 30 at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge as part of Membership Magic. Presented as a “Membership Extra” for eligible Members and located in what appears to be a repurposed railroad station at the edge of Bay Lake, Reunion Station is flexibly designed to serve as a private lounge with foods and beverages by morning and evening, a center for paid workshops by midday, and a relaxing (complimentary!) retreat for Members by night. Reunion Station’s evolving roster of workshops at the time of this post include the “Disney Vacation Club Beverage Tasting Series,” “Phone Photography” and “Animation 101.” The “Disney Vacation Club Beverage Tasting Series,” taking place on Mondays from 1:30-3 p.m. beginning May 7, is an interactive series of beverage-tasting seminars focusing on a different beverage type each week, from “Speak Easy Craft Cocktails” to “New World Wines.” Each session includes small-plate food pairings to complement the beverages served. (Other arrangements should be made for those under 21.) During “Phone Photography,” presented on Tuesdays from 1:30-3 p.m. beginning May 8, participants learn to expertly capture vacation photos on their phones, including the best approaches to photographing fireworks, characters, family poses and more. “Animation 101,” presented on Thursdays from 1:30-3 p.m. beginning May 10, is led by noted Disney animator Todd Bright, whose credits include work on The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear. Each week’s class explores Disney-animation history and focuses on a different animation topic, with participants learning how to apply basic animation principles to creating their own flip book, learning to draw action poses through a study of basic gesture drawing or learning the art of character design. Each workshop is priced at $40 a person (inclusive of tax and gratuity) and limits party sizes to a maximum of four people, including the Member. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by a paying, participating parent or guardian. Beyond the workshops, Reunion Station will serve as a food-and-beverage-inclusive lounge available as an add-on option for Members staying in any Disney Vacation Club accommodation type at Boulder Ridge Villas or Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Members who add this option (priced at $50 a night for adults and $33 a night for kids ages 3-9) to their vacation will enjoy pastries, fruits, cereals, juices and more from 7-10 a.m. daily, and wine, beer, cheeses, salads, soups, desserts, crudité and more from 4-6 p.m. Note that this option is available only for the entire length of stay and for every member of the traveling party. And from 7-10 p.m. daily, Reunion Station will open its doors to all eligible Members (including those not staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge) for mixing and mingling. A lounge host will be on hand during these nighttime hours to answer questions and offer assistance. Call Member Services beginning April 4 to add Reunion Station workshops or food-and-beverage lounge access to your vacation plans. While the food-and-beverage-inclusive lounge-access option is available only to Members staying at Boulder Ridge Villas or Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Reunion Station workshops are open to all eligible Members. As a part of Membership Extras, an incidental benefit, these Member benefits are subject to change, availability or termination and may require a fee. Membership Extras are available with eligible ownership interests. Visit http://disneyvacationclub.com/memextraspolicy for more information. View the full article

Spring has sprung in Walt Disney World, and amidst all the changes in greenery and scenery (particularly at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival), we’re also seeing lots of dramatic menu changes. (We shared the overhaul at Electric Umbrella over the weekend!) And today, we’re at Liberty Inn, the quick service spot located in Epcot’s American Adventure (a/k/a the America Pavilion!). Liberty Inn And like the changes at Electric Umbrella, these are numerous! Several items have been removed, including Surf and Turf New York Strip Steak; the Grilled Chicken with Bacon and Avocado Sandwich; Red, White, and Blue Salad with Chicken; Warm Peach Cobbler (which we enjoyed!); and Rocky Road Mousse! In their places, new items have been added (or returned). A Fried Shrimp Platter has staged a comeback, while a Southern-fried Chicken Sandwich, Cobb Salad with Chicken, Apple Pie Cheesecake, and Marshmallow Cookie Crunch Cupcake are entirely new to the menu! Liberty Inn Menu WHAT?!? APPLE PIE CHEESECAKE?!? (Yep, that’s pretty much exactly what we said, too.) But is it as good as it sounds? The Apple Pie Cheesecake is served in the ubiquitous black bowl you’ll find all over the World. As a general rule, we think this little bowl is pretty misleading; it holds more than it looks upon first glance. Apple Pie Cheesecake Underneath is a decent layer of cinnamon-spiced apples topped with some creamy cheesecake (more of a pudding consistency than a thick, rich cheesecake) and flavorful streusel. Those crumbs are totally yummy, and our only complaint is that there isn’t enough topping! We would have loved a thicker layer of the crumb, which added awesome flavor and great texture. Apple Pie Cheesecake Once you dig in, the layer of apples is actually pretty substantial, and the sweetened apples pair well with the cheesecake. Overall, this is a satisfying dessert, balanced and not too heavy for the quickly-warming temps of central Florida. Plus, I really like the imaginativeness of it — instead of a bland, boring cake, you get three layers for a more complex and unique snack credit option. Apple Pie Cheesecake at Liberty Inn The Marshmallow Cookie Crunch Cupcake is an indulgent combination of dark chocolate cupcake, cookies and cream frosting, chocolate drizzle, miniature marshmallows, and crunchy chocolate pearls. Marshmallow Cookie Crunch Cupcake With the addition of the marshmallows and chocolate pearls, this is a small step above the typical Disney World Oreo/cookies and cream cupcake (which we love!). Marshmallow Cookie Crunch Cupcake With so many layers of chocolate, this is a chocolate lover’s cupcake, for sure. And the best part was the cookies and cream frosting, which tasted fresh and had actual chunks of cookie in it! Rich chocolate cupcake There’s no filling inside, but it doesn’t really need it, owing to that mountain of frosting! And this is pretty big, folks, so unless you’ve got a massive sweet tooth, you’ll probably want to share. Interior Marshmallow Cookie Crunch Cupcake We embrace change when it comes to menus at Walt Disney World (even when we don’t love them as in the case of the Citrus Swirl’s short-lived change over to Orange Swirl!), and when they’re tasty changes like these, we can happily get on board. Don’t Miss Out on the ALL the Best Snacks Walt Disney World Has to Offer! Get four awesome e-Books FULL of Disney park dining advice, bundled for 30% off the already discounted price! This will be food long remembered…That’s right – Star Wars: Galactic Nights returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 27, and I’ve got a special Foodie Guide to everything being offered at this special event! These items will be available at various locations throughout the park. Drawing inspiration from the beloved characters, worlds and stories, our culinary team has created a whole host of gourmet bites just for the occasion, including a few new offerings, such as the Dueling Gazpacho. This dish is a standoff between spicy red pepper and cool cucumber-melon, and was inspired by the famous lightsaber duel between Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Sith Lord Darth Maul. Next up on the list of new items is the Three-Cheese Pasta with a Meatball – a bold pasta inspired by the brave and persevering Resistance Movement, with creamy three-cheese sauce and a spicy lamb and beef meatball, a truly perfect pairing. There’s also the Sweet and Spicy Fried Drumstick. This honey-chili glazed drumstick is served with a pepper jelly biscuit, because what goes better together than chicken and biscuits? Well actually, Chewbacca’s friendship with the porgs of Ahch-To comes pretty close, and also serves as the inspiration for this dish. Speaking of Ahch-To – this dish reminds us of Luke’s time on that marine planet. The Lemon Diver Scallop with Pork Belly unites land and sea, and is available exclusively at The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. Also exclusive to this location is the Tofu and Rice Noodles, inspired by the vibrant and diverse capital of the galaxy – Coruscant. This contemporary dish features a medley of pan-seared tofu, leeks, red onions and noodles. If you love the adorable Ewoks, then you’ll love the new Soba Noodle Salad, a dish that compliments the Ewoks and their habitat on their Forest Moon of Endor. This vegetarian dish consists of chili-soy Soba noodles, cucumbers and carrots and is topped with a hard-boiled, chili-glazed deviled egg. But that’s not the only new vegetarian dish – there’s also the Plantmeat on Rootcrush! Inspired by Unkar Plutt’s concession stand on Jakku, this ration of vegetarian meatloaf, mashed potatoes, root vegetables and mushroom gravy will get you energized to go trade with the scavengers. “It’s a trap!” …of delicious flavors! These Cheese Grits are inspired by Mon Cala and feature a savory steamed crawfish smothered in decadent Louisiana boil broth served on top of sweet corn cheese grits. Also filled with flavor are the Loaded Red Curry Duck Fries. Based on the Battle of Crait, these seasoned fries are topped with duck confit, red curry ketchup and white blended cheese sauce, a snack that’s sure to ignite the spark of hope to any rebellion. This next dish was inspired by the Erso’s homestead, known for its lowlands and black sand beaches. This delicious meal of Fish and Chips with Smoked Paprika Remoulade comes with root vegetable chips and is sure to have you reminiscing of Lah’mu. And if you’re up for more seafood, then you won’t want to miss the Ancho-Chili Octopus, exclusive to BaseLine Tap House. This dominant dish of octopus and jicama, pear and cucumber slaw was inspired by the Sarlacc, the legendary creature found in the Dune Sea region of Tatooine. But that’s just the new items – I haven’t even gotten to the returning items yet, like the popular LIGHTSABER CHURROS! That’s right, those bright blue and red churros are back along with the tasty Lightsaber Churro Sundae with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Other returning sweets include the Sweet and Crunchy Popcorn, the Star Wars-themed Orange Truffle Cupcake, the Mini-Éclair Trio, and the Glow Cotton Candy. On the savory side, we’ve got several popular dishes returning, such as the C-3PO Charcuterie, Yoda Pepperoni Pizza, Pork Wings with Blueberry Slaw, Vegan Blue Milk Curry, the Grilled Wagyu Beef Slider, the Bloody Mary Grilled Shrimp and Chorizo Skewer, the Crab Duo, and the Ribeye Steak Puff. And for drinks, you can find the refreshing Jettison Juice (non-alcoholic) or Skywalker Wine Flight, featuring Sommità Chardonnay, Pinot Noir Rosé, and Sommità Pinot Noir from Skywalker Vineyards in Marin County, California. During the event, The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge and BaseLine Tap House will offer table service dining with no reservations required. Here you can experience the flavors of the galaxy with many of the dishes listed above in heartier versions along with items exclusive to these locations. The Hollwood Brown Derby Lounge Menu: Lemon Diver Scallop with Pork Belly (Location Exclusive) Tofu and Noodle Salad (Location Exclusive) Éclair Trio Shrimp and Chorizo Skewer Wagyu Beef Slider C-3PO Charcuterie Skywalker Wines BaseLine Tap House Menu: Ancho-Chili Octopus (Location Exclusive) Éclair Trio Ribeye Steak Puff Vegan Curry C-3PO Charcuterie Dueling Gazpacho Skywalker Wines Now, if you’re looking at these items and just can’t decide on one dish, try the Galactic Tasting and Viewing Package! Family traditions. We all have them for numerous events in our lives, but what about your Disney vacation traditions? When this question was posed to the Disney Parks Moms Panelists, the answers came rushing in as fast as the drop on Splash Mountain. Moms panelist Robyn and her family partake in their family tradition before they ever even enter a park. “As we drive under the “Where Dreams Come True” sign at the Walt Disney World Resort, we crank up the volume and have a car dance party to the song “Try Everything” from Zootopia,” she exclaimed. “It’s such an exciting and fun moment.” For panelists Ashley and Lauren, a Disney vacation has not started until they get a photo with the one-and-only Mickey Mouse. “We have dinner with Mickey and the gang at Chef Mickey’s on the first day of our vacation, and on our last day of vacation, we stop by Town Square Theater (Mickey’s hangout at Magic Kingdom) to say ‘see ya real soon!’” explained Ashley. Try something new each trip? That is exactly what Anna and her family do each vacation. “Our one must do family tradition every trip is to try one new thing,” said Anna. “We either pick a new restaurant, try a new snack, visit a new attraction, or do a tour we’ve never done. It’s amazing that in all the years and all the trips, we still find at least one new thing to do every time.” Not surprisingly, many of our panelists’ traditions include food! From special dining locations every vacation, to enjoying a delectable Dole Whip. For some, the resort they choose is even based upon a food family tradition! “Our tradition is to end an evening (or often multiple evenings) with a walk over to France in Epcot for a late night pastry at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie,” said Disney Parks Moms Panelist Lori. “It’s one of the main reasons we always choose an Epcot resort!” “Breakfast at The Crystal Palace has been a “must-do” for our family forever! Our youngest was painfully shy when she was younger, and I’ll never forget how she jumped up and dove into the arms of her beloved Pooh Bear on one visit. To this day, I credit him with helping to bring her out of her shell. Our family has countless, cherished memories of Pooh Bear hugs, and Tigger tickles,” said Kaylene. The traditions spread across the country to the Disneyland Resort and even out in the middle of the sea! Disney Cruise Line specialist, Diane says no cruise has officially begun until the entire family has stopped at the “all-you-care-to-enjoy soft-serve ice cream machine on the pool deck!” She exclaims, “hey – we’re on vacation, why not have dessert first? Once we’ve enjoyed our first (of many) ice cream cones of our cruise, we know the vacation has begun!” And from one of our Disneyland Resort moms, Jennifer, she will quickly tell you the amazing chicken at Plaza Inn is a must! They love dining at the outdoor tables while watching the fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle each and every trip. Greetings from Epcot’s Future World!! Learn About: Electric Umbrella Epcot Restaurants Disney World Restaurants We stopped by the Electric Umbrella today and were surprised to find that the menu has received a pretty substantial makeover. My immediate reaction, honestly? I was kind of bummed! I know that Electric Umbrella isn’t really a prime destination when it comes to dining in Epcot, where so much variety can be enjoyed — especially around World Showcase. But that’s exactly why it has been fun to to find some truly decent eats in this Future World Counter Service spot over the past couple years. The French Dip Burger has actually been one of the tops in regards to Quick Service burgers for some time now. And I’ve totally enjoyed the Sausage and Pepper Sandwich and the unique Veggie Naan Wich even more recently. Good surprises, all, for a place that mostly flies under the radar. But they’re all gone from the new menu. And in their place? Well, let’s go down the list. First we’ve got the Mojo Pork Burger, which is similar to the previous French Dip Burger in that it’s another meat-topped-with-even-more-meat sandwich. Mojo Pulled Pork Burger on the menu Marinated Mojo Pork tops the 1/3 pound burger, and it’s all drizzled with a Cilantro Lime Aioli and served with fries. And much as I may miss the French Dip Burger, I’d be lying if I said the new Brisket Sandwich didn’t have me intrigued. Brisket Sandwich on the menu Why? Because that brisket is marinated with au jus and Guinness (!!!) and placed on a toasted roll, then topped with homemade beer cheese sauce! And the new Vegetable Quinoa Salad might be a decent replacement for the Veggie Naan Wich for vegetarian guests. The quinoa is plated with cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, and edamame and topped with an agave lime dressing. Vegetable Quinoa Salad on the menu But still… couldn’t they just tuck some Naan on the side here? Anyway, several Counter Service standards remain on the menu, just like always. So you’ll still find things like a Cheeseburger, Chicken Breast Nuggets, and Three-Cheese Flatbread up for grabs. And remember… Electric Umbrella is one of three restaurants in Epcot that offer Mobile Order, which allows guests to preorder and prepay for their food so they can bypass the ordering queue upon arrival. Electric Umbrella Mobile Order pick-up counter Which means on my next visit, I can try that new Brisket Sandwich even sooner! (Seriously, I love Mobile Order — you can read all about how it works here!) Learn all you need to know about Mobile Order by visiting our Mobile Order Page! And for now, that’s a wrap from Future World! What do you think of the new offerings at Electric Umbrella? Please let us know with a comment! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up to take a closer look at another Disneyland Resort attraction! Over the last few months, we’ve observed artifacts from an archaeological dig site at Indiana Jones Adventure and western details at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This month we will take a stroll to the boardwalk for a closer look at Toy Story Midway Mania! Toy Story Midway Mania! opened in June 2008 and joined the California-themed boardwalk, which will soon be a part of the new Pixar Pier when it opens June 23, 2018. The Victorian architectural design of Toy Story Midway Mania! celebrates the heyday of the great seaside parks of the early 20th century, while bringing everyone’s favorite Pixar characters to Disney California Adventure Park. The adventure begins as guests pass through the portal and “shrink” into the toy world. You’ll notice details like the white baseboards along the floor grow from a few inches to nearly four feet high! In addition, the ceiling’s height gives you a toy’s eye view of the attraction. Even wall outlets are larger than life with strings of giant lights plugged into the sockets. Andy’s toys, games, books and drawings line the walls, occupying every nook and cranny throughout the attraction and creating a toy carnival. There are actually 29 different activities and toys you can identify from the “Toy Story” films—or maybe even your own childhood. Next time you visit, try to see how many you find! Some of the toys have opened carnival booths in between games. The “Hockey Puck’s Ice Cream” show set towards the end of the attraction refers to a line made famous by Don Rickles, the comedian who voices Mr. Potato Head. There are also certain targets and combinations of targets that, when hit, will trigger hidden surprises that visually affect the gamescape and encourage participants to thoroughly explore all the targets. While riding, be sure to keep an ear out for Rex who is a fan of games and knows a trick or two that will help you out. Toy Story Midway Mania! is open for you to enjoy while Imagineers prepare for the Pixar Pier opening on June 23, 2018. To learn more about this attraction and how Woody and friends came together to put on this game, check out Magic of Disney Parks Storytelling: Toy Story Midway Mania! View the full article
