We were back in Hollywood Studios over the weekend keeping up with all of the changes in this changing park. Hollywood Studios And yes, this is what a day in Central Florida can look like – on one side of the arch it is a beautiful blue sky, the other side a threatening, grey sky! How many times have you been caught without a rain coat or umbrella on this kind of day? What’s New on Hollywood Boulevard As usual, our first stop of the day was in Trolley Car Cafe (Starbucks). Just as in Magic Kingdom, we were happy to see our favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte on the menu along with the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino. PSL – Pumpkin Spice Latte Fall Drinks at Trolley Car Cafe You can pair your fall favorite drink with a Pumpkin Scone which has returned for the season. Pumpkin Scone If you are on pumpkin over-load you can still have a Toy Story Grand Opening Celebration Cupcake or Incredibles 2 Cupcake. We are really surprised to see these here still – so be sure to grab one when you can as we would think some seasonal cupcakes might start making appearances here. Trolley Car Cafe Pastry Case Over at Chinese Theatre we noticed there are now construction walls up at the entrance as they work on the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway ride. This new ride is set to open next year. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway What’s New on Sunset Boulevard If you are looking for a Mickey Straw with your frozen drink at Anaheim Produce you’ll notice that the drinks no longer come with the Mickey Straws. We have been told by a few cast members that the Mickey Straws are being phased out of the parks because too many of them are being thrown away. Another reason to pick up your reusable straws before your visit. Anaheim Produce Joffrey’s has some new seasonal drinks on their menu: a Pumpkin Pie Latte and a Caramel Apple Butter Chai Latte. It’s Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort! Not only does that mean decorations, pumpkins, parties, and overlays – it means all kinds of great food to try! Our Halloween Time visit to California Adventure’s Pacific Wharf Cafe did not disappoint. Pacific Wharf Cafe Pacific Wharf Cafe is serving up some Halloween and Fall themed treats with some help from their neighbor, Boudin Bakery. We started this Halloween visit to Pacific Wharf Cafe out with their Seasonal Soup – a Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup – served in a sourdough bread bowl. The name alone had us swooning – Bacon. Cheddar. Ale. Soup. Sourdough Bread Bowl. Bring it on! Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup And of course it’s in a perfectly baked bread bowl! Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup If you have attended the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival you’ll remember a similar soup being featured there a few times. Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup We paired our soup with the Anchor Brewing Blood Orange Blonde – which we loved…and might have to buy again. Halloween Time Brews at Pacific Wharf Cafe Now, after soup and beer, we had to satisfy our sweet tooth. We opted for the Halloween Time Pumpkin Bread Pudding which was excellent, as they always are here at Pacific Wharf Cafe. Pumpkin Bread Pudding Look at this – what is there not to like – pumpkin bread, whipped cream, walnuts, and caramel. Can we move to Pacific Wharf Cafe forever? Now, visitors to Pacific Wharf Cafe and their neighbor Boudin Bakery know it is pretty much impossible not to go home without a Mickey-Shaped Bread. This past weekend Shakira vacationed at Disneyland Resort during a break from her world tour! During her visit, the global superstar enjoyed many attractions at the Happiest Place on Earth and met with Miguel of Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” at Disney California Adventure park. Disney•Pixar’s Academy Award-winning hit film “Coco,” is at the heart of Plaza de la Familia, a limited-time festivity at Paradise Gardens taking place through Nov. 4. The Edison at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs has introduced it’s newest Burger-of-the-Month, and this time it’s got a little international flare. The Edison with Outdoor Patio For the month of September, diners can order the Croque Burger! The Croque starts with The Edison’s signature sirloin, short rib, and brisket blend. The patty is topped with honey mustard, maple-cured ham, and swiss cheese. The whole thing is served on sourdough bread that’s been dipped in egg and grilled. It’s Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort, and you know what that means! Halloween-perfect bunting and Mickey Jack-O-Lanterns, of course! Happy Halloween Time from Disneyland Park! Mickey o’Lantern! But here at the DFB, we’re ready for treats of a sugary kind! And thankfully,there are tons of spook-tacular options! We gave you a sneak pre-BOO a couple weeks ago, and now our Disneyland correspondent Heather Sievers (hi, @DiningInDisney!!) has started trying them all! She began the Halloween Time treat extravaganza at Jolly Holiday Bakery and Cafe, where the pastry case is always full of awesome eats. For Halloween Time, they’ve really outdone themselves! Oogie Boogie is back in krispie treat form! Oogie Boogie Krispie Treat Maleficent looks positively delicious in this form, with purple sugar details and delightfully green glaze. Maleficent Krispie Treat As for cake pops: they got the Poison Apple treatment! Remember the Poison Apple Stein? These are equally creep-tacular! Poison Apple Cake Pop Individual dessert treats cover a lot of tasty ground, including the Pumpkin Layer Cheesecake (which is character-less) and the Cruella De Vil Brownie! Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake and Cruella De Vil Brownie Guests looking for a cupcake option will find the Graveyard Cupcake. And the Mickey Mummy Macaron is back this year! (It was just as cute last year!) Graveyard Cupcake and Mickey Mummy Macaron Heather wanted to get in on that dessert action, so she grabbed the cheesecake, brownie, cupcake, and macaron! Yea for us! The Jolly Holiday Greats! The Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake is a fantastically pumpkin-y treat that Heather describes as a 50/50 mix of pumpkin pie and cheesecake. So pumpkin lovers: dig in! Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake The layers are essentially pumpkin pie filling and rich cheesecake, but the topping was also a real winner. The pumpkin spice whipped cream is topped with a sprinkling of crunchy bits, and they are awesome. Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake The Cruella De Vil Brownie is rich and chocolate-y. Topped with white and black frostings and a white chocolate piece featuring the namesake villain, the serving bowl actually takes the cake… uh, brownie. It’s dalmation-printed! Cruella de Ville Brownie Heather’s only complaint here was that very, very black frosting. But if you can live with that and must have a brownie at all cost, this one will do! Cruella de Ville Brownie The Graveyard Cupcake is a good chocolate option, too, if you decide to forego that black frosting. There’s a white chocolate printed tombstone stuck into buttercream that’s covered in cake crumbles to resemble soil. Loving the detail. Graveyard Cupcake The best way into this treat is to pull that wrapper apart. When you do, you can see the dark chocolate cupcake and chocolate buttercream. There’s also a raspberry filling in there that Heather says is unnecessary because the rest of the cupcake is stellar without it. But overall, this is a solid option! Graveyard Cupcake The last Jolly treat she tried is the Mickey Mummy Macaron. How cute is this? Even with those big goofy eyes, we’re loving the distinct Mickey shape and delicate mummy wrapping. Mickey Mummy Macaron The perfectly crafted macaron is vanilla flavored and tasty. But it’s what’s inside that counts, right? Mickey Mummy Macaron And what’s inside is cookies and cream buttercream that gave Heather grey stuff vibes! Yum! This is a great treat to share with the kiddos. On second thought, just get two so you don’t have to share. Our latest visit the Magic Kingdom did not disappoint as we were on the hunt for new food, drinks, merchandise, and construction updates for you! Magic Kingdom at Halloween This trip was chock full of updates! We’ll start out on Main Street USA. What’s New on Main Street USA Our first stop was at Main Street Bakery (Starbucks) and not only did we find the “so famous it goes by its initials” Pumpkin Spice Latte on the menu, but also the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino. Fall Drinks at Main Street Bakery Now, you of course need something to eat when you’re sipping your favorite drinks! The Main Street Bakery does not disappoint with some seasonal additions including Pumpkin Bread, Morning Muffin and a Maple Pecan Muffin. Pumpkin Bread Pumpkin Bread Don’t forget, if you are on a Disney Dining Plan these items are Snack Credit Eligible. Morning Muffin and Maple Pecan Muffin Morning Muffin and Maple Pecan Muffin This location is also offering a few Halloween treats all day – the Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake and Halloween Cinnamon Roll. The Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake Halloween-inspired cinnamon roll! Casey’s Corner Hot Dog of the Month is a Jalapeno Popper Hot Diggity Dog. This dog is topped with Cheddar Sauce (plastic cheese! a winner already for us), Garlic Ranch Drizzle, Bacon Bits, Pickled Jalapenos, AND Jalapeno Poppers. Maybe you should order a glass of milk with this one for the heat! Casey’s Monthly Hot Dog: Jalapeno Popper Hot Dog If you aren’t craving a hot dog, but boy those Hot Diggity Dog toppings sound good you’re in luck because now you can officially order Monthly Special Loaded Fries – which are fries with the Hot Diggity Dog of the Month toppings! If the Hog Diggity Dog toppings aren’t your speed, then try the Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Fries! Now that’s some sort of Poutine! Casey’s Corner Menu Those of you with sharp eyes have probably also caught that now you can order a Plant-Based Slaw Dog. That’s a Spicy Italian Beyond Sausage covered in toppings that include pickled slaw and vegan BBQ aioli! Plant-Based Slaw Dog The Tutti Frutti Lollipops in the Confectionery have an updated package design with just Mickey and Minnie Mouse on it. How sweet are they? And remember, it’s all-you-care-to-drink! Un-Birthday Milkshake Look at what we found in Uptown Jewelers – a Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Dress and Zero Purse! We found the Hatbox Ghost Ears at Memento Mori. Now which to wear, my rose gold, millennial pink, iridescent, or these AMAZING ears? Decisions, Decisions. Hatbox Ghost Mickey Ears A portion of Rivers of America has been drained for refurbishment work on the Riverboat Track. The whole River is not drained, just the portion closest to the Haunted Mansion. The Flatbread of the Month at Pinocchio Village Haus is a Scrambled Egg Flatbread. Yay! Breakfast for lunch! Scrambled Egg Flatbread Plus, this location is offering a fun Seven Dwarfs Mine Train mug – note this mug is not a Resort Refillable Mug. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Mug Prince Eric has been busy at Prince Eric’s Village Market. There are three new items on the menu here, a Mermaid Donut, Witch’s Frozen Brew, and a rather unexpected Sweet Thai Chili Shrimp. You can read all about them here! Cinderella’s Castle What’s New in Adventureland The construction walls and tarps have been removed from the future location of Magic Kingdom’s Club 33! See more pictures here! Magic Kingdom’s Club 33 Location What’s New in Tomorrowland Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies has removed the Crepes that were part of the Incredible Summer from their menu. They have also removed the S’mores from their menu. But, don’t forget this location is offering the Candy Corn Milk Shake and Candy Corn Cone throughout the Halloween season! Auntie Gravity’s Menu Candy Corn Milkshake Over at the Lunching Pad they are still offering the Mrs. Incredible Pretzel Mask, however it now has a new name, the Infinity Pretzel. We guess this is because of it’s proximity to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin attraction. Sadly, the Lunching Pad has removed Jack Jack’s Cookies from the menu. The Lunching Pad Menu The Lunching Pad Menu The Cool Ship still has the Incredibles Dry Ice Drinks on the menu – for now. Cool Ship Menu Dash’s Super Lemonade and Violet’s Force Field Punch Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe has been the home of some fun eats lately. They have removed the Super Stretchy Burger that was part of the Incredible Summer event from their menu, but they have replaced it with the return of the Barbecue Pork Bacon Cheeseburger, and now it comes topped with Onion Rings! The Greek Salad with Chicken is also back on the menu replacing the now removed Super Foods Salad with Chicken. Cosmic Ray’s Menu Barbecued Pork Bacon Cheeseburger While at Cosmic Ray’s we also found Galaxy Loaded Fries as a secret menu item and had to try them. Check out our full review here! Galaxy Loaded Fries After finishing our Galaxy Fries we worked off some calories by shopping at Mickey’s Star Traders. Mickey’s Star Traders There seems to be a lot more merchandise in here than before. We love how they have categorized everything there is a “section” for snack merchandise, rose gold merch, and so on. The items all seem to be a little trendier too, along the lines of what we’d find at DisneyStyle in Disney Springs. In this week’s Disney Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what Tinker Bell would do first if she got the chance to visit Magic Kingdom Park. In the 1953 movie “Peter Pan,” Tink uses her Pixie Dust to help Peter – and with some reluctance – Wendy, John and Michael, learn to fly. According to Ashley, Tink may want to spread some Pixie Dust at Peter Pan’s Flight. “Tinker Bell uses her pixie dust to help the darling children fly to Neverland,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine her wanting to use her pixie dust to help the boats fly on Peter Pan’s Flight!” View the full article
