  1. As a teen of the 80s and 90s, I fell in love with actress Tiffani Thiessen – as EVERYONE did – in television shows like “Saved By The Bell” and “Beverly Hills, 90210.” But in addition to all that TV goodness, it turns out Tiffani had an ace up her sleeve that fans didn’t know about – The Girl Can Cook! Her latest culinary venture is a new cookbook called “Pull Up A Chair: Recipes From My Family to Yours,” which goes on sale October 2. In the book, Tiffani showcases easy, warm, family-friendly recipes that she’s honed by cooking for her family and friends for years. And she is bringing her tips and tricks to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival on Sept. 16! We caught up with Tiffani at her home in California for a quick chat about her appearance, her culinary journey (including the new cookbook) and some exciting new projects including a hit NetFlix series. The 23rd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival runs from through November 12, 2018. For more information on the Festival, check out TasteEpcot.com and stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for updates on this year’s celebrity chef events, “Eat to the Beat” dining packages, special events and other fun. 2. Our favorite dessert item at the clam bake at Cape May Cafe in Disney’s Beach Club Resort were the Oreo Bon Bons. But today, we have good news for all you Oreo Bon Bon fans! Word on the street is the Oreo Bon Bons have returned to the dessert table at Cape May Cafe! Oreo Bon Bon at Cape May Cafe DFB reader Richard Johnson spotted them while dining at Cape May Cafe this week! According to their server, the Bon Bons are only available a couple of nights a week; but we hope they stick around! Oh, how we missed you! 3. Happy September, everyone! Halloween Time has returned to Disneyland Resort and I recently began producing this year’s Halloween Time photography during a long walk through the parks. I always enjoy photographing the Partners Statue and Sleeping Beauty Castle during the day’s transition lighting (dawn and dusk). The addition of jack-o-lanterns and orange/yellow flowers makes this a great spot for fun family photos. Not only does 2018 mark the 25th anniversary of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” but also the 18th time that Jack Skellington has visited the 999 Happy Haunts who dwell in the Haunted Mansion, transforming this attraction into Haunted Mansion Holiday. This year’s gingerbread house is absolutely astounding – complete with a giant, animated, gingerbread spider! For the first time at the Disneyland Resort, popular Disney Junior star Vampirina is available for photos and autographs. Vampirina, also known as “Vee,” brings the spooky fun with her wherever she goes, including Disney California Adventure park. Watching our younger guests light up when they see their favorite little vampire pal is the simply sweetest thing. Oh, Cadillac Ridge in Cars Land. It’s a spectacular sight year-round, but, man, she’s lit beautifully for Halloween Time. The Headless Horseman statue along Buena Vista Street looks great in daylight, but the lights and smoke really pop after dark. Now is a great time to plan your next visit to Disneyland Resort. Halloween Time runs now through October 31. View the full article

  10. Happy Halloween Time from Flo’s V-8 Cafe in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park! If you’re a fan of pumpkin spice everything, you’ve got to make this a stop on your Halloween Time tour! Flo’s V-8 Cafe It’s a Pumpkin Spice Milkshake! Woo! From top to bottom, this one is a beauty! Pumpkin Spice Milkshake The cup is lined with a drizzle of caramel, giving it a delightfully oozey appearance. And the milkshake is topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, more caramel, and graham cracker pieces. That last bit is an ode to pumpkin pie, and we love it! We expected a super pumpkin-y flavor, but it was a richer vanilla with a nice addition of pumpkin spice added in. This one is likeable even if you don’t LOVE pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. So much fun in the Pumpkin Spice Milkshake! Note that the Tire Straw does not come with the milkshake — but we highly recommend you add it on there! Watch our progress LIVE on this Halloween Time post, see pics of ALL the food items over at the Halloween Time Page! And if you’re heading to the Parks on the west coast, download and print this Halloween Time Check-list! It’s the best way to keep track of allllll the good stuff! Halloween Time Check List So much to try, and we’re trying it all! Many thanks to our Disneyland correspondent Heather (of @DiningInDisney fame!!) for leading the way! 11. It’s Halloween Time in Disney California Adventure Park’s Cars Land! And you know what that means: lots of delicious eats with fabulously punny names! And we’re going to the coziest snack locale in all the Land: the Cozy Cone! Get cozy at the Cone! Back this year is the “Spokey”-Cone Macaron! And it’s as cute as ever! Spokey-Cone Macaron This vanilla-flavored macaron is bright orange, just like a, well, cozy cone! See the themed cone in the background? Perfect replica! Spokey-Cone Macaron The Spokey-Cone Macaron has been given an appropriately creepy expression. (The black edible paint does smudge a bit, so if you’re looking to Instagram this baby, beware! ;-D) Spokey-Cone Macaron Perhaps the best part of the macaron can be found inside: marshmallow buttercream and candy corn!! Seriously, you need to have an affinity for the candy because they’re (thankfully!) packed in there. And while this seems like it would be waaaaay too sweet, it’s really not cloying. The flavors all work well together and it’s more than just “sugar” flavored. Spokey-Cone Macaron Also returning this year is a delicious savory option: the Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese Cone! Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese You might recognize this one for its shocking black bread cone and equally as shocking red chili-cheese puff dust! Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese The cone is seriously dark, but like all the cones here, it’s a tasty vessel for the mac and cheese! Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the spicy red pepper cheese sauce was a little spicier than we remembered it being last year! So yea for heat! Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese. The crushed red chili cheese puffs are sprinkled on top and do add a little texture and flavor — in addition to that amazing red color! We still love this one! Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese Also available at Cozy Cone during Halloween Time are Pumpkin Spice Churros. These seem like a no-brainer, right? Dust that pumpkin spice on a crispy, delicious churro and you’ve got a winner! Pumpkin Spice Churro But add to those churros a cream cheese dip, and it’s next level churro! Pumpkin Spice Churro w/Cream Cheese Dip Finally, the must-have Halloween Time souvenir this year can only be found in Cars Land locations, including the Cozy Cone! Behold: the Tire Straw. This reusable straw comes with an ahhhh-mazing rubber tire tread jack-o-lantern. Tire Jack-o-Lantern Straw And it lights up! Spooktacular! It’s burnin’ rubber on our hearts, it is. Watch our progress LIVE on this Halloween Time post, see pics of ALL the food items over at the Halloween Time Page! And don’t forget to download and print your very own Halloween Time Check List — created by your trust pals at the DFB! 13. There is nothing more British than a cuppa tea. And now you can have a cuppa at Epcot’s local pub – Rose and Crown! But this isn’t your regular tea – it’s an “experience”! Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room The Rose and Crown has launched a new “Tea Experience” where you’ll not only sip tea, but you’ll munch on scones and sandwiches while learning about tea from a Twinings-trained Cast Member. Attendees of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival may think this sounds similar to the special seminars presented in the UK Pavilion during that Festival. We think so too! Looks like this is going to become a permanent event at the Rose and Crown. Rose and Crown During your tea you’ll learn about the different blends of tea and the secret to making the perfect cup of tea from the Twinings-trained Cast Member. You’ll also learn about the history of the Twinings brand and its wide range of flavors. The Tea Experience takes place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 9:45 am. It is $30 per person, which includes your tea tasting, sandwiches, and scones. For reservations, book online, visit Guest Relations, or call (407) WDW-DINE or book online at waltdisneyworld.com. 14. Today, Adventures by Disney revealed the latest additions to our expanding line-up of Short Escape vacations: three brand-new adventures in Boston, London and Vancouver, Canada, launching next year! Short Escapes are two- to four-night adventures in iconic destinations that can be booked as stand-alone getaways or as add-ons to other vacation plans. Just like all of our trips, these itineraries feature must-see attractions, hands-on activities and opportunities to discover hidden gems, and each one is filled with all the authentic experiences, VIP service, special access and signature Disney storytelling that set Adventures by Disney vacations apart. Bookings for new Short Escapes open Sept. 20, 2018. Read on to discover all that’s in store on these exciting itineraries … Best of Boston – Past and Present On the new four-day, three-night Short Escape itinerary in Boston, travelers will discover treasured American history and spirited contemporary culture. Guests will be immersed in the city’s legendary stories during privately guided tours along the Freedom Trail and the Old North Church—where many famous moments of the American Revolution took place—and a special after-hours visit to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum that concludes with a private dinner steeped in the city’s storied roots. Other family-friendly excursions and activities include rowing along the Charles River, biking the city on a private adventure, exploring the grounds of Harvard Yard, and indulging in a delicious buffet of seafood, chicken, corn-on-the-cob and more at a private New England clambake on Thompson Island. The new Boston Short Escape is available on select dates in May through October 2019. Bucket List Getaway in London Our guests will revel in the royal treatment with VIP experiences in one of the world’s most iconic cities during the new three-day, two-night Short Escape in London, which can be booked as a stand-alone vacation or as a pre-cruise add-on to Disney Cruise Line sailings out of nearby Dover, England. The itinerary is filled with exceptional experiences, including a once-in-a-lifetime, private viewing of the royal Crown Jewels led by the Tower of London’s Jewel House Warden; a private, high-speed thrill ride in a rib boat along the River Thames; and a privately guided tour of Westminster Abbey, the revered site of royal coronations and weddings. Families will also witness the time-honored tradition of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. The new London Short Escape is available on select dates in July, August and September 2019. City Highlights and Outdoor Recreation in Vancouver Active adventures and culinary delights await on the new three-day, two-night Short Escape itinerary in Vancouver, which can be booked as a stand-alone vacation or as the perfect complement to a Disney Cruise Line Alaska voyage. Guests will discover unparalleled views of the city’s lush natural surroundings during exciting outdoor activities like ziplining and gondola rides at Grouse Mountain, a privately guided tour at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, and a morning bike ride through Stanley Park. They’ll get a taste of the city’s thriving culinary scene during a “foodie” walking tour of Granville Island’s famous Public Market, and there’s even a special scavenger hunt expedition just for Junior Adventurers while adults unwind with beer and wine flights at a local tasting room. The trip also features early morning access to Grouse Mountain’s resident grizzly bear habitat, where guests can observe bears up-close, learn from a local bear expert and enjoy a private breakfast with amazing views. Other highlights include photo-worthy encounters with lively lumberjacks, birds of prey and towering totem poles. The new Vancouver Short Escape is available on select dates in May through September 2019. For more information on new Short Escapes, visit adventuresbydisney.com. View the full article
  15. In today’s Disney Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what the Swedish Chef from The Muppets would do if he had the chance to visit a Walt Disney World theme park. According to her, he’d seek out the biggest culinary adventure he could find at the park. “The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is a huge crowd pleaser,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine the Swedish Chef getting caught up in the cuisine around the world and learning new recipes at the France Pavilion!” View the full article
  16. Schmoozies in Disney California Adventure is the next stop on our Halloween Time Food Tour of all Disneyland is serving up this Halloween Time. Schmoozies If you have a sweet tooth this is the Halloween Time stop for you. Schmoozies is serving up a Croissant Donut, Caramel Apple Smoothie, and Whoopie Pie. And yes, we got all three of them! Let’s start with the Caramel Apple Smoothie. It’s all there – the caramel, the green apple, and of course the ice cream. Caramel Apple Smoothie The sharpness of the green apple complimented the caramel and whipped cream – and toned down what could have been a really sweet drink. But I was glad to taste that there’s a real creaminess and richness to this – the green apple is subtle and not overwhelming. We decided to go with the Whoopie Pie next. Look at the bats! This not-too-spooky looking Whoopie Pie contains a healthy serving of espresso chip ice cream between two cake cookies. Whoopie Pie This was a large-enough portion to be shared if you’re getting multiple treats. The coffee flavor here is STRONG, though, os if you’re not a coffee fan, you’ll want to skip this one. Whoopie Pie Now, we saved the best for last. And when we say best – this could be the best thing we’ve eaten so far at Halloween Time. Croissant Donut OK, this looks like any ordinary eclair when you get it – except it’s decorated like a mummy, which makes it darn cute. But when you bite into this fried, buttery, croissanty (is that a word?), peanut buttery and jelly croissant donut you know you aren’t eating just any old cro-nut, donut, or eclair! You suddenly give thanks to the creative minds and chefs that developed this little piece of food-heaven. Croissant Donut The pastry here was light, airy, and soft — NOTHING stale about this. The filling was a rich, creamy peanut butter…well, the texture was almost a mousse! And paired with that jelly it was so much fun. Overall, the sheer size, quality, and flavor of this item won me over immediately. And for someone who usually dismisses cronuts due to so many of them being stale and crunchy by the time I get them, that’s saying something. GET. THIS. NOW. If we had to end our epic food tour of all things Halloween at Disneyland, we would be happy we ended it with this croissant donut. But our food tour continues! Be sure to follow along with us as we explore all the Halloween Time festivities in Disneyland – especially the food! Check out more Disneyland Food Reviews Here!! 17. “What’s This?” as our good friend Jack Skellington asks! We asked the same thing at the Egg Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland! Adventureland in Magic Kingdom This cart already serves the cult favorite Cheeseburger Spring Roll along with a traditional Vegetable Spring Roll – but now they have upped their game with a Reuben Spring Roll! Don’t walk by this cart as you race to get into line for your favorite ride. A stop here is well worth the time! Reuben Spring Rolls They may look like any old spring roll on the outside, but they certainly look like a classic Reuben inside. Look at that melty cheese! Reuben Spring Roll Even though we found these super greasy, we did think they tasted great. As sauerkraut fans, we thought that could have been a little more potent – you know it is in there, but does get a little overwhelmed by the other ingredients. Adventureland Spring Rolls Your order of Spring Rolls lets you choose two – you can go with both of them the same as we did today getting two Reuben Rolls. But, if you want you can mix it up with one Reuben, and one of either Cheeseburger or Vegetable – or whatever combo makes you happy – depending on availability. When we were there they had all three in stock, but said they do run out of one flavor or another on some days. When they do run out, that is it for the day – no restocking here! Which Spring Rolls are you choosing? Please let us know with a comment! Wanna see some more snacks on the Disney World scene that you simply have to try this year? 18. Port Orleans French Quarter Resort has been home to several discoveries this past summer including Mickey-Shaped Beignets in Sassagoula Floatworks Food Court and Boozy Beignets at Scat Cats Club. And not to be left out, Saratoga Springs’ Artist’s Palette asked us to “choose them” with an Alien Dessert recently. Mickey-Shaped Beignet at Port Orleans French Quarter Our newest update from these resorts has to do with their Pizzas. While at the Pizza and Pasta Shop window at Sassagoula one of our DFB readers learned that they are no longer offering the French Quarter Pizza. Further investigation found Sassagoula has a new chef, and under their new direction, may be switching to fresh dough versus frozen dough pizza. Currently, the only pizza options available are a meat or veggie pizza. A new Pizza menu is promised “soon”. We stopped in over at Saratoga Springs and found out some very similar information. In fact – we even caught some chefs in the act of making fresh dough on premises, and confirmed frozen pizzas are no more! Pizza at Artist’s Palette Pizza at Artist’s Palette After seeing this we had to try one of these new pizzas and opted for the Cheeseburger Thin-Crust Pie. Come on, it combines two of our favorites – pizza and a cheeseburger! Cheeseburger Thin-Crust Pie This is a loaded pizza – ground beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayo! After admiring this we had to dig in! Cheeseburger Thin-Crust Pie Look at the amount of toppings on this! The pizza dough held up to all of these toppings and wasn’t soggy at all! Cheeseburger Thin-Crust Pie We could really tell the difference between this new fresh pizza dough and the frozen pizza that we’re used to having at resorts before. We are excited to see this change. Cheeseburger Thin-Crust Pie And pizza isn’t just for lunch or dinner any more! On the menu is a Breakfast Thin Crust Pie made up of Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Gravy, Crumbled Bacon and Cheese. We think it just got a lot easier to face the morning with that option! Breakfast Menu at Artist’s Palette Lunch or dinner also include a Caprese, or Chicken, Artichoke and Spinach Thin Crust Pie in addition to the Cheeseburger Pie – and all on the new fresh pizza dough. The Daily Special will change each day. Today’s Specials Menu at Artist’s Palette Pizza Menu at Artist’s Palette We understand changes or limited availability in the transition from frozen to fresh can put a cramp in dining plans, but are pretty excited about the move. 19. We stopped in Columbia Harbour House after discovering Candied Bacon and Chicken Skewers at their neighbor – Liberty Square Market – and were pleasantly surprised to find Columbia Harbour House has whipped up a new treat as well! Columbia Harbour House sign As their sign says: Chicken, Sandwiches, Seafood – now they can add a classic side to that list – Hush Puppies! Maybe it’s just us, but a seafood meal isn’t complete without Hush Puppies – and now we can have them with our seafood, chicken, AND sandwiches! Columbia Harbour House Menu They look rather nondescript on the menu there – but don’t be fooled by appearances (and don’t forget while looking at the menu that the Lighthouse Sandwich is back!) – these puppies are something special! Hush Puppies These deep-fried, golden, corn meal balls are SO good. They are really crispy, but still keep a doughy quality to them. Hush Puppies And look at the whole corn pieces in there! You could eat these on their own as a snack, or as the perfect side to your main dish. Or do a mix-and-match – grab a brand new Chicken Skewer at Liberty Square Market and these Hush Puppies and you have a pretty awesome tasting meal! 20. It’s that time of year! The days are getting shorter, kids are back to school, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is in full swing and so is Monday Night Football. We’re excited to introduce the new Food & Wine Tailgate Tasting hosted by ESPN’s Monday Night Football. 22. It was just an ordinary day in the Magic Kingdom until we neared the Haunted Mansion and could smell bacon. We followed our noses to Liberty Square Market and made a discovery! Liberty Square Market Guess what we found! Candied Bacon and Chicken Skewers! Before we knew it, we were in line clutching our cash and ready to get our very own Candied Bacon and Chicken Skewers! Candies Bacon and Chicken Skewer Take a look at these skewers. Right away we were enthralled with the smell, as were many people around us. We’re telling you – these smell so good! Candied Bacon and Chicken Skewers In an amazing act of self-control we tried the Chicken before the Bacon. Chicken Skewer The sauce on these Chicken Skewers is awesome. It’s described as a spicy sweet sauce, and we have to agree it has a really nice kick to it. Chicken Skewer Next up, the Candied Bacon Skewer. Candied Bacon Skewer We gotta say the Candied Bacon is also good, but the texture is a little different from candied bacon we’ve tried before. Usually the outside is harder and crispier, this one is not crispy all. But it still has that nice salty, sweetness to it that we expected. Candied Bacon Skewer So, the big question – which did we prefer? We’d have to say we liked the Chicken Skewer better than the Candied Bacon Skewer. It’s not that we didn’t like the Bacon, we just missed that crispy texture we associate with Candied Bacon. Have you tried either of these skewers? 24. Frightfully fun Halloween merchandise has materialized just in time for the spookiest season of the year. Designed for guests celebrating the holiday both during and after a Disney vacation, a talented team of product developers, artists and planners spent more than a year crafting these festive items. Their chilling challenge was presenting merchandise in a way never before seen while maintaining a connection to Disney Parks. A solution arrived in the form of a beloved Mouse-eared icon that has grown in popularity in recent years. “Mickey Mouse-shaped pumpkins are found everywhere during the Halloween season at Disney Parks including merchandise,“ explained Dan Howard, Senior Creative Director with Disney Creative Group. “This Disney icon, mixed with playful character artwork, is an excellent foundation for this year’s collection as it’s something guests will remember from their visit.” From apparel and home décor to necklaces and headwear that illuminate the night, guests will have their pick of pumpkin-themed products. New products, such as shirts with all-over prints for adults and kids, join familiar favorites like the light-up trick-or-treat bucket and ceramic candle votive. Graphic designers and character artists selected Halloween-inspired colors – purple, orange, black and gray – reminiscent of vintage trick-or-treat bags. This limited color palette is best seen on products decorated with Disney characters in colorful costumes. Dressed as a classic vampire or witch, Mickey and Minnie Mouse are interpreted as sparkling sculpted ornaments, featured on a countdown-to-Halloween clock or displayed on canvas-wrapped artwork. A door mat with a humorous Halloween pun is a wonderful way to welcome trick-or-treaters. “Products with playful messaging are a popular trend in the marketplace,” explained Summer Bloomfield, Merchandise Strategy Manager, who worked with product developers to curate this year’s assortment. Eye-catching apparel is adorned with those playful phrases including “I vant candy” or “I’m just here for the candy.” When paired with an orange and black sequined headband and an animated glow necklace, guests can create instant Halloween looks perfect for attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort or Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland Resort. Products are available at merchandise shops throughout the theme parks and resorts. Guests may also order select Halloween merchandise online by visiting ShopDisney.com. View the full article
