There was a LOT of activity on the official Disneyland and Walt Disney World websites yesterday with the announcement of opening dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts came the debut of updated and new pages for the various attractions, restaurants, and experiences for Galaxy’s Edge. Now, if you looked at the title of this post, you may be thinking, “Got it. But what does that have to do with the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival?” Epcot Food and Wine Festival Well, in checking out the new restaurant pages for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the Disney World restaurants page, we couldn’t help but notice that four Food and Wine Festival entries had also been updated. Disney World website screenshot These four Special Events — the Mediterranean Food and Wine Pairing, French Family Meal Traditions, the Italian Regional Food & Wine Pairing Luncheon, and the Parisian Breakfast — have all remained listed on the Disney World website as 2018 events well after the 2018 Festival was over. Parisian Breakfast So, we can’t confirm that these events are indeed returning for 2019, but the fact that Disney has not only left them up on the page, but also updated the dates makes us hopeful that these popular guest favorites will return for this year’s festival. A variety of new experiences – from art classes and fishing excursions, to pirate experiences and mermaid schools and more – are already, or will soon be, available to book at Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Here’s a look at each new guest offering: Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at Disney’s Beach Club Resort Ahoy, mateys! Reservations are now open for a new group experience that invites young recruits ages 4-12 into the world of pirate feasting and treasure seeking, high-energy sailin’ and swashbucklin’ fun. The new Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at Disney’s Beach Club Resort teaches youngsters pirate ways, and lets them follow clues that will lead to hidden treasure and being named to Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew. Armed with clues, young buccaneers will comb through the resort and set sail on a pontoon boat around Crescent Lake, in the latest seafaring adventure at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Once the treasure is unearthed, all join in a Pirate feast that includes selections such as Cannon Meatballs with marinara or macaroni and “gold” sauce for entrees, along with a treasure chest treat or fruit for dessert. Mermaid School Guests can become part of Ariel’s world at the Mermaid School at select Walt Disney World resort hotels. When you’re in Animal Kingdom, you can keep your eyes peeled for Kevin from Up! in a few ways! She landed on Discovery Island a few weeks ago… (Have you seen her?) Kevin from UP is now in Animal Kingdom! And now she’s been spotted on the Kevin Cupcake! At Warung Outpost in the Asia section of the park, we found this new treat alongside a new cocktail: the Himalayan Explorer. Both are equally eye-catching in color! Himalayan Explorer and Kevin Cupcake The Kevin Cupcake features yellow cake with baked-in sprinkles, and is also filled with strawberry mousse. Kevin Cupcake It’s topped with a “sky” of blue-colored buttercream, crispy white chocolate pearls to mimic the famous Up! balloons, and fondant accents. An edible chocolate picture of Kevin finishes off the treat. Kevin Cupcake Parents will probably want to grab plenty of napkins, because — as you can likely anticipate — the vivid hues of this colorful cupcake transfer easily to the hands of the kiddos! News that’s music to your ears! The Disney Performing Arts Conservatory returns to the Disneyland Resort this summer giving young performers from all around the world the chance to improve their performance skills! And, for the first time ever, musicians can join in on the action with an instrumental conservatory in addition to the musical theatre conservatory for actors, singers and dancers. On select dates in July and August, performers ages 14 through 22 will be able to spend five consecutive days finessing their craft with industry-recognized teaching artists at the Disneyland Resort. The conservatories are filled with in-depth work sessions, immersive classes, professional panels, multiple behind-the-scenes and in-park learning experiences, and of course, a sprinkle of Disney magic. The instrumental conservatory focuses on performance skills, sight reading and musicianship while the musical theatre conservatory focuses on acting, dancing and vocal techniques, both taught by Disney entertainment professionals. The five-day program culminates with students performing live on stage in one of the theme parks at the Disneyland Resort! Instrumental conservatory students will come together for a grand concert performance of a live soundtrack to classic Disney shorts and film segments and musical theatre conservatory students will perform under the direction of a Disney teaching artist all while dazzling Disneyland Guests. Booking opened in January for a new dining experience coming to Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland Resort. Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures will feature a three-course meal along with personal interactions and photo opportunities with Disney Princesses! Rapunzel The experience will also include a takeaway bag and themed activities which will highlight what makes Disney Princesses unique. Today, we’re taking a look at some of the menu items coming to Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures! A selection of cold starter options makes up the first course, and all of the items will be brought to the table for everyone to share. Finding this fun, casual restaurant open is a bit of challenge, but when you do, it’s a terrific place to grab a quick bite — particularly when the weather is amenable to outdoor dining on the front porch! It’s been a big news day for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as the opening dates were released at the Walt Disney Company’s shareholders’ meeting earlier — but Galaxy’s Edge isn’t the only big development happening at Walt Disney World later this year. We’re talking, of course, about Disney’s Skyliner. And we’ve got a FIRST LOOK at unwrapped Skyliner gondolas on the track! Just over a week ago we reported on testing of the Skyliner transportation system (click here to see more about the full-speed test!!), but at that time the vehicles themselves were still under wraps, clad in white to obscure details about the design. Now we see the gondola vehicle in bright yellow with what appears to be white detailing and a logo. We’re also getting a better look at the windows and what appear to be vents along the top of the gondola. Skyliner unwrapped! From this close-up view, these vents appear to be cantilevered, but we don’t have any specifics. From what we know this is the only “air conditioning” currently. Skyliner unwrapped! It’s time to dream big and meet your favorite Disney Princesses at an all-new character dining experience coming to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures is the newest way to start your day at Disneyland Resort. Dine on a delicious three-course breakfast and meet with your royal hosts for enchanting activities, intimate story time, a private portrait location and more, all within the elegant surroundings of Napa Rose. The first course kicks off with a selection of cold starter options, all of which are brought to the table for the entire party to enjoy! On the sweet side is the Sunrise Citrus and Vanilla Bun with raspberry glaze, Caramel Beignets, and a Chia and Granola Parfait with mango, kiwi, and coconut. A Banana Wrap with berry compote is a delicious option, too, along with assorted sliced fruits and berries. Savory starters include a yummy open-face Ham and Cheese Sandwich with cranberry cream cheese and Mini Lobster Rolls (or Mini Hot Dogs upon request). For the second course, you’ll enjoy a yummy buffet of entrées served up nice and warm. Kids will love the House Made Mac & Cheese and of course the Mini Chicken and Mickey Waffles served with maple syrup butter. Other savory entrées featured on the buffet are Perfect Scrambled Eggs, Artisan Turkey Sausages, Roasted Tomato and Asparagus, and a mouth-watering Pulled Beef Slider with BBQ sauce and pineapple salsa served on a Hawaiian bun. There’s also Fresh Mint Papas Bravas with Romesco sauce. And for dessert, indulge in a glorious assortment of sweets all brought to the table, featuring options like Chocolate Chip Princess Cake Pops, Almond Crunch with vanilla Chantilly, and Petite Raspberry Tarts. You can also try the Sea Shell Macarons with mango passion fruit ganache or the Strawberry Honey Sorbet with cotton candy and fresh strawberries.
