As Indiana Jones Adventure is down for refurbishment for a few days, Disney has sprinkled in a little magic to ensure that the adventure can still continue. This means that Disneyland is offering guided tours of the attraction’s queue line! Indiana Jones Hieroglyphics Tours of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye will be taking place TODAY from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm. But, remember things could always change. SO if you are in the area… hurry up, grab your fedora and head over to Disneyland to check out this unique opportunity! Indiana Jones Adventure Painting No reservations are required. All you have to do is head to the entrance of the attraction and a cast member should be waiting to take you on your tour. We’ve got a few fun facts for those who are unable to experience the tour! One our of writers experienced the tour and learned that this painting includes a lot of hidden meanings! For example, the painting reflects the future, the fountain of youth, and riches! A “brand-new, cutting-edge interface” of never-before-seen technology and practical effects will debut at the attraction, which will allow guests to “experience for themselves what it is like to have the abilities of a Super Hero.” Ultimately, the experience will blend seamlessly into the story of the new lands currently being created for both Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney Studios park in Disneyland Paris. Guys you are never going to believe this…actually you probably will. All three Disneyland-owned hotels are SOLD OUT on May 30th, the night before the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Galaxy’s Edge Concept Art These bookings have quickly flooded in following Disney’s announcement of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening date. And while it makes sense that each hotel would be sold out simply because of the opening, there’s an added incentive for Disney fans to be booking these seriously expensive rooms when they COULD be booking less expensive hotels within walking distance of Disneyland. Each Disney-owned hotel guest will receive a FREE advance reservation for the land. When Disney announced the opening date, they also stated that anyone attempting to get into Galaxy’s Edge from May 31 to June 23 will need a Disneyland ticket along with a free advance reservation. This will likely be the ONLY way to get into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Though, we aren’t too sure on how the reservation system will work just yet! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Concept Art As of now there are still rooms available for the night of May 31st, but they’re going for a pretty hefty rate. At Disneyland Hotel. the rates are starting around $651 per night. At the Grand Californian you’ll be shelling out $821 for that night. These rates will likely drop the further away you get from the opening date. A refurbishment will soon begin at Mizner’s Lounge in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Mizner’s Lounge sign The result will be an expanded space for the Deluxe resort lounge. Inside Mizner’s Lounge In order provide room for the change, the neighboring shop, Commander Porter’s, will close. These changes will reportedly begin on April 4, 2019, with a reopening of Mizner’s expected in the fall. Guests at the resort will be able to find a temporary lounge on the ground floor by the Garden View Team Room. You may already be aware that Disney has announced that Disney’s Walk Around the World Bricks will soon be removed to allow for improvements for the comings and goings of guests. Disney World’s Magic Kingdom entrance The hexagonal bricks which you find along the walkways leading to Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center display the names of individuals and families who sponsored bricks as markers for special occasions or to “leave their mark” on Disney World. It’s no secret that Sasha Pieterse, Janel Parrish, and Sofia Carson from Freeform’s new series ‘Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists’ had a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort. These fashionable ‘Liars’ rocked the latest Minnie ears during their fun-filled visit to the most magical place on earth. The girls started the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, experiencing some of our signature attractions, such as Expedition Everest and Avatar Flight of Passage. They especially loved the baby animals they were lucky enough to see on Kilimanjaro Safaris, and they couldn’t resist a group hug in front of the amazing floating mountains in Pandora – The World of Avatar. Next stop: Magic Kingdom! The fun continued with Mickey and Minnie rocking their new party outfits with Sasha, Janel, and Sofia, part of all new Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration. The girls experienced Space Mountain, tried the new Lost Princess Cone at Storybook Treats, and ended their visit watching the Happily Ever After firework spectacular. Surprise! Disney has been taking a large number of initiatives to become a more environmentally friendly company. A big way they have done this is by trading in plastic straws for paper straws. And today we spotted paper straws at a Starbucks in Disneyland! SO… we can go ahead and add Starbs to the list of growing eco-friendly straw locations! Starbucks Paper Straws Paper straws and reusable shopping bags are two changes that Disney has made as they progress toward their goal of no single-use plastics in the parks in 2019. We have also spotted paper straws at a large number of Disneyland counter service locations. These locations have included Hungry Bear restaurant, Stage Door Cafe, and Rancho Del Zocalo! These new paper straws have also been seen at a few Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea locations at Walt Disney World. (Read all about that here!!) The spring break crowds are upon Disney World. And, as we always say, the good thing about more people is MORE FOOD! Aunt Polly’s Such is the case on Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom, which is home to Aunt Polly’s, the (typically) VERY seasonally open counter service location. Aunt Polly’s Aunt Polly’s was originally scheduled to be open only from March 9th through 16th. However, Aunt Polly’s run has been extended. It will be open daily from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM to welcome guests for the next few weeks! On his extended tours of Europe, Walt fell in love with European art, architecture, food and, of course, stories. And now we’re so excited to share that the art in Disney’s Riviera Resort will reflect a European theme with a Disney twist! We’ve been talking about these awesome unique, Disney touches for the past few months and today we get to share with you a sneak peek of some of the European-themed art and décor that will be throughout the proposed Disney’s Riviera Resort when it opens in Fall 2019! Part of our sneak peek today is to show you some of the pieces as they will be displayed in some of the villas at the upcoming 15th Disney Vacation Club Resort. Throughout the resort and within the villas, you’ll get to experience a variety of art types including Disney concept art with European settings, posters of Disney films as released in Europe, archival photography of Walt’s travels throughout the region, and references to the ephemera and book titles Walt gathered on his journeys. Additionally, and this is a part of our sneak peek today, there will be more than 40 signature art pieces created just for Disney’s Riviera Resort featuring unique Disney character art inspired by the renowned artistic heritage found along the shores of the European Riviera.
