We are LOVING all the Halloween snacks around Disneyland. Corn Dog Castle After all the spooky ice cream, churros, and milkshakes, we’re in serious need of something savory in our lives! That’s why we were SO happy to see the return of the Spicy Pepper Jack Cheese Stick over in Disney California Adventure! Head over to Corn Dog Castle to find this seasonal item. We found ours on Mobile Order as well! They have the fried Cheddar Cheese Stick on the menu year-round, so it’s really fun when they change it up to this version with more of a kick! Spicy Pepper Jack Cheese Stick This giant beauty of battered fried cheese is made with pepper jack cheese, topped with a drizzle of blackberry sauce, pineapple salsa, serrano peppers for extra heat, and crushed cheese puffs. It is served with a side of chips or sliced apples and will cost you $9.99. Spicy Pepper Jack Cheese Stick When we last tried this, we loved the mix of heat from the cheese and peppers mixed with the sweet fruit flavors from the pineapple and blackberry sauce. This is EASILY an item to share if you’re not up to the task of tucking into a full fried cheese stick — it’s almost the size of a regular corn dog!! All-Star Resorts Food Update End Zone Food Court In case you missed it, the All-Star Resorts recently made a LOT of changes to their menus, and we found even MORE changes during our latest visit to All-Star Sports’ End Zone Food Court! First up, a Turkey Panini (served with chips) has been added to the menu for $11.99. End Zone Food Court Menu Also added to the menu are a Chicken Quesadilla and a Plant-based Chicken Quesadilla. Both are $10.79 and are served with black beans and rice. End Zone Food Court Menu Intermission Food Court In All-Star Music’s Intermission Food Court, we noticed some changes in the bakery case! Intermission Food Court Bakery Case The Peaches and Cream Cupcake and Hades Cupcake were both missing from the case, but the new, ADORABLE Sulley Cupcake was available! (Some Unicorn Cupcakes were also available, but they were looking pretty sad.) Intermission Food Court Bakery Case The Sulley Cupcake is a classic yellow cupcake topped with buttercream, edible glitter, and chocolate horns! Sulley Cupcake And while this is one of the most adorable cupcakes we’ve ever seen, we also thought that it was super delicious! The cupcake itself was very moist and the buttercream wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet. The abundance of buttercream did start to melt in the Florida heat, but we didn’t mind too much! Sulley Cupcake Read our full review of the Sulley cupcake here! Also new to us is the Low-Carb Protein Pack, which you can get from the grab-and-go coolers for $9.99. Low-Carb Protein Pack In the pack, you’ll find chicken breast, cream cheese, Babybel cheese, applewood smoked bacon, pecans, eggs, and lettuce. That sounds like a nice and nutritious meal! If you and your family are preparing for a visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the immersive new land located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then you won’t want to miss these tips from members of the Disney Parks Moms Panel. First, make sure you download the Play Disney Parks Mobile App as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was designed to fully integrate with the app. According to Samantha, when you are within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, your Play Disney Parks Mobile App* becomes your Datapad. While taking in all the sights, guests can earn virtual galactic credits for things they do in the land using their Datapad, and credits earned will display in their Datapad profile. Not sure what one wears in this galactic land? Tony says there is no better time than now to try out your best Disney Bounding outfit. No matter whether you want to represent the Resistance or the First Order, Disney Bounding is the perfect way to show your alliance. And remember, while young children are allowed to dress in costume, adults may not per Walt Disney World attire guidelines. As you prepare for your epic adventure on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, be sure you check out some of the best food in the galaxy at Oga’s Cantina and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. At these locations you can enjoy unique food items as well as out-of-this-world concoctions. “Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs operates this quick-serve dining location. Guests will see his transport shuttle sitting atop Docking Bay 7, which he uses as a mobile kitchen and restaurant,” explains Samantha. “In Black Spire Outpost, he has turned Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo into an eatery where he serves up dishes created from ingredients he has collected throughout his journeys. Tony’s Tip: Oga’s Cantina has limited seating so if you want to experience this as a priority make sure you stop here first! If you and your family can’t wait to become one with the Force, you will want to schedule a time to visit Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. This is an immersive retail experience in which guests can customize their own lightsabers. Reservations are required to participate and are subject to availability. Droid Depot is also another interactive merchandise expert where you can create that droid that you have been looking for! Samantha explains that here guests may build and activate their own BB-series or R-series astromech droid. Once activated, the droids can interact with other droids and Bluetooth-enabled elements throughout Black Spire Outpost. The Droid Depot also sells prebuilt droids and other droid-related merchandise. And last but not least, get ready for the ride of your life on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Take a ride in the cockpit of the famous Millennium Falcon as either a pilot, engineer or gunner. And remember every role is critical for a successful flight. Tony’s Tip: The Single Rider Line is a great way to experience this attraction more times and with less wait! For more great tips on preparing for your next visit to Batuu, or for general Disney vacation questions, visit DisneyParksMomsPanel.com for an answer from one of our panelists. And think you’d make a great panelist? Check out our Search for the 2020 Disney Parks Moms Panel which is open through Thursday, September 12, 2019, at noon ET. *Message, data and roaming rates may apply. Availability subject to handset limitations, and features may vary by handset, service provider or otherwise. Coverage and app stores not available everywhere. Fall into Magic at Disney Springs Disney Springs’ theme for this fall is “Fall into Magic”, and we’re loving the festive look! Fall into Magic at Disney Springs Now that we have that out of the way, let’s dive into all the new items we found! Disney Springs Food Update West Side At the Coca-Cola Rooftop Beverage Bar, we saw that the drink for the month of September is the Lift Jubilee. First, we tried the totally over-the-top Leaning Tower of Doughnuts. Leaning Tower of Gelato The Leaning Tower of Doughnuts is made with donut holes stacked onto a straw, a scoop of gelato, whipped cream, and a glazed donut which is cut in half and stuffed with more gelato! You also have the option of adding chocolate, caramel, or strawberry sauce on top (we went with chocolate). Leaning Tower of Doughnuts While we loved the gelato, we were pretty disappointed by the full dessert. It fell apart super quickly and the doughnuts were a bit lackluster. Read our full review of the Leaning Tower of Doughnuts here! Next, we tried the Pumpkin Cannoli. We got the choice to choose between a traditional or chocolate shell and we LOVED the chocolate shell. Pumpkin Cannoli The filling was not very sweet but did have a strong pumpkin flavor. And the chocolate of the shell helped to compensate for the fact that the filling wasn’t very sweet. Overall, we enjoyed this treat! Pumpkin Cannoli Check out our full review of the Pumpkin Cannoli here! ALSO new to Vivoli il Gelato is Doughnut Happy Hour! The Donut Happy Hour is available from the time that the shop opens until noon. This gives guests the opportunity to, for $5, pick one large doughnut or three cream-filled doughnuts. Epcot’s Character Spot Moves to a New Location!!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Epcot is currently undergoing a MASSIVE transformation and a lot of changes have started to take place. HarmonioUS in Epcot Concept Art Locations like Fountain View and Club Cool (bye-bye, for now, Beverly) have officially closed. And Epcot’s Character Spot meet-and-greet location has been relocated. Character Spot was actually home to two character meet-and-greet areas that were located across from one another in Epcot. At one spot, guests could meet Baymax, Joy, and Sadness. At the other, guests could meet Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. The side with Joy, Sadness, and Baymax is currently operating as normal, though Disney has announced that it too will undergo renovations. Part of Character Spot is Still Open The doors have been closed on the old Character Spot location and the windows have been covered with a grey tarp. Character Spot is Closed Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy are currently meeting in the previous Innoventions building. The new Character Spot Read more about the Character Spot renovation here! The backdrops at the new location are a TON of fun. C-Spot It features postcards with the World Showcase, the monorail, Spaceship Earth, and more. C-Spot Backdrop Character Spot was one of our favorite locations because guests were able to meet three characters at once by waiting in a single line or by using a single FastPass. Minnie at the new C-Spot But sadly, this new location is currently NOT offering FastPasses. Mickey at C-Spot We’re hoping this changes and we will let you know if it does! But as of now, there are no FastPasses to meet Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy at Epcot. Goofy at C-Spot While we are sad to see some of our favorite locations go, we cannot wait to see what magic Disney has in store for us! What’s your favorite place to meet characters at Epcot? The first steps in the redesign of Future World in Epcot have begun! World Celebration in Epcot We’ve known for a few months that parts of Future World would begin closing September 8th, including Club Cool (we still love ya, Beverly!) and the Fountain of Nations. Other parts of Future World, like Electric Umbrella and Mouse Gear, will be closing in the coming months. Well, friends, we’re sad to say they wasted no time setting up for the impending construction. We went to check out the state of Future World and found that construction walls have quickly appeared around much of the fountain area. The Temporary View Upon Entering Future World Sadly, there’s no more Fountain of Nations to greet you. Now, guests are met with a big black construction wall surrounding much of the fountain. To get around the fountain area, guests will need to stick to the lefthand side near Mouse Gear. Over near there, guests can get a good look at the fountain already drained. Fountain of Nations Drained On the opposite side of the fountain, Club Cool and Fountain View are both now closed. Planters and construction walls have gone up to direct guests away. Construction Walls in Front of Fountain View This wall continues on to the now-closed Epcot Character Spot. Guests still have easy access to the West side of Future World past Character Spot at this stage of construction. To learn more about where you can still meet characters around Epcot while Character Spot is closed, click here! Next to Fountain View, Club Cool has been closed up as well. Planters are blocking off much of the entrance area. The back entrance is still accessible but plastic sheeting is coving the glass doors and a sign informs guests of the closure. Club Cool is Now Closed We’re sad to see some of our favorite spots closing, but excited to see what the future will hold for the new Epcot. Check back with DFB for updates on the changes at Epcot as they happen! To read more about all the changes planned for Epcot click here! Are you sad to see some of these spots closed? Yesterday was Grandparents Day, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by inviting them on your next Disney cruise! With activities designed with everyone in mind, there’s no shortage of fun both the young and young-at-heart can enjoy. Of course, the number one reason grandparents will love being a part of your next vacation is, well, their grandkids! Grandparents always say that seeing their grandchildren’s joy and wonder is their favorite part of a Disney cruise. Here are some of the other reasons grandparents won’t want to pass up an invitation to join your family’s Disney cruise vacation … 1. Family entertainment. With Broadway-style musicals, lively dinner shows, high-energy deck parties and fireworks at sea, there are tons of ways to have fun on board with the grandkids. In D Lounge, game shows like Disney trivia, karaoke nights and dance parties offer more fun activities to enjoy together. 2. Fun in the sun. Poolside, grandparents can have the best of both worlds with the whole family, choosing to relax in one of the comfy lounge chairs or splash around with the kids in one of our pools. They can also take the kids on an adventure to play miniature golf on Goofy’s Sports Deck or ride the exciting AquaDuck water coaster. 3. Time with their adult children. As much fun as grandparents will have with the little ones, they’ll love some adult-only time, too. While the kids are having a blast at one of our youth clubs, you and your parents can enjoy a night on your own to catch up, savor incredible cuisine at Palo or Remy and hang out in the adult nighttime district. 4. Holiday cheer. Nothing makes the holidays more special than spending it with family, but adding in a little Disney magic makes it extra spectacular! Starting in November, our Very Merrytime cruises allow families to enjoy the holidays on the high seas and create new and lasting traditions. From Mickey’s Tree-Lighting Magic to Santa’s Winter Wonderland Ball, grandparents are sure to have a very special holiday trip! 5. Take some time for themselves. Although grandparents love to spoil their grandchildren, sometimes they need to be treated, too! At Quiet Cove Pool, grandparents can relax in this adult-exclusive oasis, giving them a moment to unwind grandchild-free. For an even bigger treat, pamper them with a spa treatment at Senses Spa & Salon! Adjoining staterooms are also a great option to keep them close, while still allowing them their own space after a fun-filled day. To learn more about what our cruises have to offer for the whole family, click here. View the full article

Cool Wash was still closed during our visit, but we did notice some Food and Wine Festival storage containers. During our most recent visit, they hadn’t put the covers back up yet. Disney cast members have a reputation for making magical experiences for guests at Disney Parks around the world. Recently, Samantha Burns, an attractions hostess at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, went above and beyond to help a claustrophobic guest overcome her fears at Na’vi River Journey in Pandora – The World of Avatar. The guest really wanted to experience Na’vi River Journey in Pandora – The World of Avatar with her young children, husband and friends, but felt anxious due to her history of claustrophobic episodes. She approached Samantha with a lot of questions about the attraction so she’d know what to expect. Samantha responded by asking the guest if she’d like her to ride with her through the attraction. She did, and according to the guest, Samantha held her hand throughout the experience, pointed out safety exits along the way, and also entertained the guest’s children as they moved through Pandora’s astounding bioluminescent rainforest. In honor of her positivity and readiness to go above and beyond for this guest, Samantha was recognized with a special memento from Djuan Rivers, vice president of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Joe Kalla, general manager of Park Operations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Walt Disney World Resort is home to two amazing water parks with unique storytelling all their own! There is a lot of fun stuff to see and do, so I’ve got some tips to help you get the most out of your visit. Follow these tips and you’ll leave relaxed and filled with enough memories to last you a lifetime. Here are my tips for visiting Disney Water Parks! 1. Choose a Family Meeting Spot – If you’re spending the day with a group, it is always a good idea to choose a meeting spot or home base that everyone in your party can go back to throughout the day. Some of my favorite meeting spots include the Beachcomber Shacks and Getaway Glen Umbrellas at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and the Polar Patios and Lodge Umbrellas at Disney’s Blizzard Beach. You can reserve any of these spaces by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529. 2. Stay Hydrated –At Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, we enjoy beautiful weather almost all year long! Whether it’s summer or fall, it’s important to stay hydrated and drink lots of water. Our water parks offer special refillable mugs for purchase that let you quench your thirst at any drink station throughout your day. 3. Eat ALL the Food – Both Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon have some seriously delicious menu items that you won’t want to miss. From chocolate-dipped key lime pie and guacamole flights to plant-based bratwurst sandwiches, there is something for everyone. Adults can also enjoy specialty drinks, beer and wine. My top picks? The Fish Tacos from Typhoon Tilly’s at Typhoon Lagoon, the Blizzard Burger from Lottawatta Lodge at Blizzard Beach and the mini donuts, which are available at both parks! 4. Pack Light – Packing up a beach bag with all the essentials can be a hassle, especially when you are visiting us from out of state. One of the things I love about our water parks is that you can rent towels and umbrellas for the day. That means less bulky items to carry and less laundry when you get back home – it’s a win-win! Pro tip: Walt Disney World Resort guests receive complimentary towels at the water parks. 5. Plan A Visit That Compliments Your Vacation Itinerary – Our water parks make a great addition to any Disney vacation and can easily fit into your busy itinerary. Plan a full day at the water parks or visit for a few hours- the choice is yours! Personally, I love spending a full day at one of our water parks and ending my night at Disney Springs! 6. Use the Walt Disney World Bus Service – Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel? Make sure to take advantage of the Walt Disney World Bus Service, a convenient and complementary way to get to and from our water parks. If you plan on driving yourself, we offer complimentary parking. 7. Use the Walt Disney World Bus Service –Have you heard of Disney PhotoPass? Helping you capture professional photos of your vacation, Disney PhotoPass photographers let you focus on having fun and worry less about getting the perfect shot. Learn more about this exclusive summer offering here. If you do decide to take your own pictures, I recommend purchasing a waterproof bag to protect your phone and easily carry it around the park. You can find waterproof bags in Singapore Sal’s at Typhoon Lagoon and Beach Haus at Blizzard Beach. Make sure to share all your Disney Water Parks pictures using the hashtags, #DisneyWaterParks, #TyphoonLagoon and #BlizzardBeach. 8. Save With the Park Hopper Plus Ticket Option – In my option, the Park Hopper Plus Option is a MUST when planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. In addition to admission to multiple Disney theme parks in one day, the Park Hopper Plus Option also includes a visit to other iconic Disney venues such as our water parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex! It’s a great value, especially if you’re trying to see and do it all while you’re here. 9. Learn To Surf at Typhoon Lagoon –If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to surf or you’re an experienced surfer who wants to catch some waves while you’re on vacation, make sure to go to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon one morning. That’s where we offer surfing programs in our state-of-the-art wave pool that creates the perfect wave every time and offers the perfect venue for surfing, no matter what your skill level. The best part? Classes take place before the park opens! 10. Wear Lots of Sunscreen –When you’re having fun, it’s easy to forget to put on sunscreen. Make sure to apply it multiple times throughout the day and spend time in the shade to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. You can purchase sunscreen in Singapore Sal’s at Typhoon Lagoon or Beach Haus at Blizzard Beach. 11. Meet Your Favorite Characters – Our theme parks aren’t the only places to meet your favorite Disney characters. Don’t miss your chance to spend time with Goofy at Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Lilo and Stich at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon during your next visit to our water parks. 12. Annual Pass –The Water Parks Annual Pass includes a year of admission to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach and an endless amount of fun! If you plan on going to the Disney Water Parks more than once in one year, you’ll definitely want to check this out. 13. Unplug From the Real World –The Disney Water Parks make it easy for you to unplug and focus your attention on enjoying the moment and spending time with your friends and loved ones. If you like, you can easily rent a locker to securely keep all of your electronic devices out of mind and out of sight. A day of relaxation and fun awaits you! 14. Dress the Part –Part of the fun of visiting Walt Disney World Resort is the chance to incorporate your favorite Disney characters into your personal style. From towels and swimwear to clothing and thoughtful souvenirs, Blizzard Beach’s Beach Haus and Typhoon Lagoon’ Singapore Sal’s have everything you need for a Disney-inspired fashion moment at our water parks.
