‘Tis the season for magic-making… and with Veterans Day right around the corner, our heroes who work at Walt Disney World Resort are busy making some holiday magic for the families of fellow veterans in the Central Florida community. Just this week, cast members from our active-duty military and veteran support cast member group—SALUTE—swung by the Orlando Fisher House to spread some holiday cheer to 16 special families. The Fisher House serves as a home-away-from-home for military and veteran families, where they stay cost-free while their loved one receives medical treatment at the VA hospital next door. “It’s never easy to be away from home for an extended period of time, and it’s even harder during the holiday season,” said Terri Turner, manager of Orlando Fisher House. “Disney transformed our organization into a winter wonderland, and has brought our families so much joy—it’s impossible not to feel cheerful in the midst of all this sparkle.” And because every home deserves a little extra pixie dust around the holidays, our cast members took it one magical step further to decorate the organization with festive holiday décor—including eight holiday trees—that was previously featured in our theme parks and resorts! As a company founded by two brothers who served their nation in uniform during World War I, The Walt Disney Company has a longstanding tradition of supporting the U.S. Armed Forces. The selflessness of the many heroes who work here at Walt Disney World Resort is demonstrated through SALUTE, which not only serves to support fellow cast members, but also the military and veteran community at large—like the Fisher House—through volunteerism. With both Veterans Day and the holiday season quickly approaching, we’re sure this is the dose of “feel good” you need going into the Veterans Day weekend! View the full article

It’s Christmastime at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we have been bringing you into the park to show you all the brand new decor and to review all the newly-arrived tasty treats! Check out this festive Lion Paw Cookie we snacked on yesterday! Christmas Lion Paw Cookie Over in the Asia area of the park, decor celebrates the Hindu holiday Diwali, but the snacks? They’re ready to rock around the Christmas tree (of Life)! Anandapur Ice Cream Truck is bringing the cool with Peppermint Soft-Serve! Peppermint Soft-Serve We’ve had peppermint soft serve before — most notably at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party last year — and this is just as refreshing and cooling as we’d hoped. The frozen treat melts quickly in the Florida heat, but no worries: it’s delicious, so you’ll likely be eating it up in no time! Peppermint Soft-Serve To drive home the peppermint flavor, the soft serve is sprinkled with crushed peppermint candy. Those candy bits also help to provide a little texture, which we appreciate in an ice cream topping. Peppermint Soft-Serve You can scoop up this holiday treat for $4.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit! Happy holidays! Follow along today as we’re reporting LIVE from Animal Kingdom with all the NEW holiday treats, entertainment, and decor here! Are you a fan of peppermint ice cream? We don’t care what they’re going to say — we’re still gonna eat more treats anyway! “A Frozen Holiday Wish” Frozen 2 is just around the corner, and we’re celebrating with ALL the themed treats in Disney World! We’ve spotted the Arendelle Aqua Mickey Macaron, Hidden Truth Cupcake, and Pumpkin Spiced Donut Tart in the parks already. And, now we’re tasting another treat in honor of the holiday season! Elsa’s Magical Macarons have been making an icy blast at the Market and Baseline Tap House in Hollywood Studios! The Market’s Menu The blue and cream colored macarons taste like white chocolate and gingerbread respectively and are dusted with silver glitter (to look like royalty). Elsa’s Magical Macarons We have to say that with all the Frozen 2 treats around, Elsa’s Magical Macarons are a GREAT treat to snack on in the parks (and they’re just SUPER cute anyways). Elsa’s Magical Macarons The macaron cookies have a fantastic crunch, paired with the sweet filling that we could honestly eat for daysss! Elsa’s White Chocolate Magical Macaron The white chocolate has a creamy flavor… Elsa’s White Chocolate Magical Macaron …while the gingerbread packs just a hint of spice. They are both light, but also a tasty mid-morning or afternoon treat! Elsa’s Gingerbread Magical Macaron Plus, they’re a STEAL for 5 macarons for $7.99. Elsa’s definitely using some of her magic to give us these lil guys! Elsa’s Magical Macarons The forest might be calling to Elsa, but this treat has been calling to us! We’re tasting our way around the holiday treats in Magic Kingdom, and there’s no shortage of delicious bites to be found all day long! Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree Casey’s Corner is becoming a reliable location to grab a holiday brownie. We’ve tried the Donald Duck version at Halloween as well as the Ugly Sweater version last Christmas and the Mickey Celebration version earlier this year. And for the current Christmas season, it got ANOTHER makeover! Snowflake Brownie We’re getting MAJOR Arendelle Aqua vibes over here!! Snowflake Brownie This is the same good ol’ chocolate brownie we’ve come to know and love from Casey’s. It’s dense and fudgy and tucked away inside its familiar black ramekin, and the blue buttercream frosting is the just-right hit of sweetness on top. Snowflake Brownie The crunchy sugar snowflakes are a cute bite as well! So while this is no ugly Christmas sweater (sorry, there’s no surpassing the creativity on that one), this is a great holiday option for your picky eaters and brownie fans! You can find this sweet at Casey’s for $4.29 all-day long through the holiday season. Will you be picking up a Snowflake Brownie? Let us know in the comments! While visions of sugar plums danced in some people’s heads, we’ve been thinking about those GREAT Hand-Pulled Candy Canes that are made for the holidays in Disneyland! Disneyland Christmas Tree And, we are SO EXCITED we’re here to give you the deets on the newly released dates for Candy Cane snackin’ this year!! (We can almost taste them…) The Candy Canes in Disneyland have been a delicious Christmas tradition in the parks for over 35 years. The confectioners have to work in teams to even be able to make the treats, so you know they are pretty amazing! Candy Cane Info The Candy Palace in Disneyland and Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure will be the hosts of the seasonal treat again this year, alternating on different days! Candy Cane Dates Candy Cane Tips Okay, since these treats are so good, you can bet your candy buttons that EVERYBODY is going to want to snag one of them. If you want a Candy Cane, you’ll have to make a treat-run game plan. We advise getting lining up at least 30-45 minutes ahead of park opening (but earlier is always better!). As soon as the gates are open to guests, make a bee-line towards the specified location for the day. Candy Cane Dates When the shop opens for the day, limited wristbands will be distributed to the people waiting in line. Previously, we’ve seen that around 40 wristbands are given out per Candy Cane batch. Three batches happen per day so a total of roughly 120 wristbands are typically distributed. BUT, we’ve also been told that sometimes more than 120 wristbands have been distributed before, so ya never know! Since there is one wristband per guest, you can guess that only ONE Candy Cane can be purchased with the proof of a wristband. Once you have a wristband, you’ll be given a time to return to the Candy Kitchen in the stores. However, you can pick up your candy cane any time after your batch time, but prior to 4 PM (or it’ll be sold to someone on standby!). Candy Cane Dates WHERE and WHEN To Get Your Candy Cane Please note that these dates are subject to change, and that additional dates may be added. Candy Palace -November 29th -December 2nd -December 4th -December 6th -December 9th -December 11th -December 13th -December 16th -December 18th -December 20th -December 24th Trolley Treats -November 30th -December 3rd -December 5th -December 7th -December 10th -December 12th -December 14th -December 17th -December 19th -December 21st -December 25th Hand-Made Candy Canes in Disneyland! If you want to confirm the dates or grab some more info, check Disneyland’s Candy Kitchen Hotline at 714-781-0112. You know we LOVE our Dole Whip Floats from Magic Kingdom’s Aloha Isle. We’ve tried them all, from the Spiked Dole Whip Float to Redd’s Revenge. So we were excited (but a little trepidatious) to see a merry, limited-edition float added to the menu for this year’s holiday season. Cherry-Pistachio Float The Cherry and Pistachio Float is here to fill you with holiday cheer… or not! This new offering might be Insta-worthy for its bold soft-serve color combo, but if we’re being brutally honest here, that’s as far as it should go. Cherry and Pistachio Float The Cherry and Pistachio Float consists of cherry and pistachio swirled soft-serve atop frozen hot chocolate. In retrospect, ‘frozen hot chocolate’ was really a dead giveaway. The pairing is unlikely; cherry and pistachio with the frozen hot chocolate? Cherry and Pistachio Float And there’s a reason it’s unlikely: it doesn’t work that well. The cherry is SUPER strong, the pistachio gets lost, and cold hot chocolate doesn’t really play well with the first 2. Cherry and Pistachio Float You can try out this holiday-ready treat for yourself (if you insist) for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom Check out ALL the treats in Magic Kingdom for the Holidays HERE! Gingerbread is all the rage in Disney World right now for the holidays! From Cinderella Castle to the perennially beloved gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, this holiday staple is clearly the flavor of the season! Gingerbread Castle There’s the Gingerbread Castle, Gingerbread Snack Stand, Gingerbread Man Shake, and MORE baking up around the parks and resorts. And we’re tasting another version of the classic Christmas treat at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ holiday celebration! Gingerbread Cookies have a fresh look this year as they return to The Market, Dockside Diner, and BaseLine Tap House! The Market’s Menu Rather than taking the traditional shape of a four-limbed, curvaceous gingerbread humanoid, this year’s offering is a pair of rectangular cookies frosted with a stripe of gingerbread icing and holiday-inspired candy pieces! They’re kinda reminding us of the tarts at Woody’s Lunch Box! Gingerbread Cookies While there wasn’t anything super special about these Gingerbread Cookies, they were thick and had that slightly spicy flavor we love in gingerbread. The icing adds some sweetness without overwhelming the gingerbread. Gingerbread Cookies You can snack on the Gingerbread Cookies for $5.69, and they come packaged as a pair in a cellophane bag! Grab these babies and go! Gingerbread Cookies Packaging And don’t forget to leave some for Santa! Have you tried the Gingerbread Cookies at Hollywood Studios? Let us know in the comments below! Whether they’re pursuing a career in the legal field or aiming to better their community, our cast members are reaching their educational goals and dreams – all thanks to Disney Aspire. This groundbreaking education investment program provides a variety of degree and certificate programs from in-network schools with 100% of tuition, including book and fees, covered by Disney. For Viviana Mendez, Team Lead at the Disney store in Times Square, putting her #DreamsWithinReach means earning a Bachelor of Psychology degree with aspirations of pursuing a role in Human Resources at Disney! Viviana began working at the Manhattan Disney store as a seasonal cast member nine years ago. As time went by, her passion grew as well as her roles in the store. She enjoys making emotional connections with guests by finding the perfect product to complete their experience. “Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a smile created from an engagement with a guest,” said Viviana. Bringing Disney magic to guests that don’t have the opportunity to visit the parks is her favorite aspect of working at the Disney store. Interacting with guests each day and being able to listen and connect with cast members sparked her interest to study Psychology, as watching their behavior improve inspires her. As a single mother, Viviana puts her family first. Although she always wanted to get her degree, she had to pause her educational pursuits when she struggled to balance her work and family life and also could no longer financially afford to continue. “I am truly grateful and appreciative of Disney Aspire for allowing me to finally fulfill my desire of going back to school – a dream I’ve had for a long time,” said Viviana. When Viviana first learned about Disney Aspire, she was overjoyed! Finally, she was able to pursue her dreams at no cost, all thanks to this groundbreaking education program. “When I first heard about Disney Aspire, I channeled my inner Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco, as I ‘seized my moment!’” The flexibility of the program has allowed Viviana to be well on her way of reaching her dreams! Even though the program is offered online, she doesn’t feel alone in her journey. She has built relationships with her fellow classmates and her leaders and coworkers have been extremely supportive. Viviana shared: “My classmates are helpful and they share the same enthusiasm about the program!” Her dream career goal is to one day have her name appear on the door of her own office – whether within Disney HR, or even outside of the company at a hospital or school. And with this desire, she wants to create a space of her own for anyone that seeks guidance or support. “Listening and helping people and partnering with them to see their capabilities beyond their struggle is what I would love to achieve,” said Viviana. Since launching in 2018, this unique program has been helping eligible Cast Members like Viviana to pursue their dreams. Do you want to build a snowman? Sunset Seasons Greetings ‘Cause we LOVE Olaf!! And, on top of Elsa’s Magical Macarons and the Sven Sipper we’ve seen today, we’re excited for another Frozen 2 treat baking up in Disney World! Olaf might have to avoid the heat so he doesn’t melt… Buuut, Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake reminds us of our favorite hot drink in spoonable form! Find him at the Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom! Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake The gluten-friendly chocolate cake is layered with chocolate panna cotta, marshmallow fluff, marshmallows, candy leaves, chocolate twigs, and a white chocolate Olaf piece (oh my!!!). Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake If you loooove marshmallow fluff, you’re going to want to get 3 of these bbs! The chocolate cake layer is very thin, so the marshmallow overpowers it. Although the panna cotta flavor is basically non-existent, the chocolate layer actually tastes like chocolate pudding. We think this is an EVEN BETTER choice ’cause you can’t go wrong with pudding!! Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake The dessert might be creamy, but the marshmallows, chocolate twigs, white chocolate piece, AND sugar leaves add both a chewy and crunchy finish to the treat. Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake You can get a taste of all this AH-MAZING chocolate and marshmallow for $6.99. And, trust us, the kiddos will love it too! We definitely think this treat is worth melting for. And, you can follow along to check out all the other treats in Magic Kingdom as we tell you about them all LIVE here! Echo Lake Christmas Decorations But, the holidays are calling for a different kind of dessert for all you vanilla lovers out there! And, you’re going to want to have the latest treat in Hollywood Studios anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any day! On top of the Prep and Landing Cupcake and Lunch Box Tart that we’ve spotted, the Holiday Blondie is being baked up at the Backlot Express! Backlot Express Holiday Menu The vanilla and brown sugar “brownie” has craisins, orange peel, and almonds suspended throughout the treat and is topped with buttercream, festive red pearls, and a snowflake sugar piece. Holiday Blondie While we love a rich, chocolate-y brownie, the Holiday Blondie gives its cocoa counterpart a run for its money! The blondie is buttery and sweet, and the brown sugar comes through in every bite. The craisins have a burst of fruity flavor in the dessert (!!!), as well as the nutty taste from the almonds. The buttercream on top was light, but tied the entire dessert together like a well-wrapped gift. Our tastebuds couldn’t help but do the Jingle Bell Rock with the last crunch from the sugar piece and pearls! It may seem like the most unlikely of places, but way down south here in Florida there’s a place you might confuse with the North Pole. Twinkling lights, snow flurries, sweet treats and Christmas cheer: You can find it all during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park! Combining the magic of Disney with the magic of Christmas creates a winter wonderland so festive, even Santa Claus himself can’t resist stopping by to join the party. I always find it difficult to leave at the end of the party, and since I can’t fulfill my childhood dream of taking up permanent residence inside of Magic Kingdom Park, I’ve found that the best way to remember the merriment after I’ve gone home is by using Disney PhotoPass Service. Disney PhotoPass will capture your photos during the party so you can focus on the fun and remember it all long after the sleigh bells stop ringing. With six onboard attraction photo capture opportunities, numerous Character Experiences, holly-jolly props (my favorite is the Tinker Bell lantern available near Enchanted Tales with Belle), Magic Shots, Animated Magic Shots, and scenic photo spots adorned in holiday décor, you won’t want to miss a single memory! Be sure to ask each photographer you visit during the party which Magic Shots are available at that location. This year you can even jingle all the way to the Disney PhotoPass Studio inside of Sir Mickey’s in Fantasyland where a photographer will help you pose in front of a holiday backdrop with seasonal props. No reservations required. Wondering how to download and share all of your Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the party? Unwrap a special offer that’s sure to keep your spirits bright: Stop by the Disney PhotoPass Sales Center inside of Town Square Theater during your party to save $10 on Memory Maker One Day!* Parks, attractions, entertainment or character experiences may change operating hours; close due to refurbishing, capacity, weather, special events, character availability or other reasons; and otherwise change or be discontinued without notice and without liability to the owners of the Walt Disney World Resort. *Memory Maker One Day offer is only available at Magic Kingdom Park’s Town Square Theater during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party event nights only from November 8 to December 22, 2019. Santa’s making his list, he’s checking it twice — and Hollywood Studios is pulling out all the stops for his arrival soon! Prep and Landing Elves There’s decorations, parties, snoap (!!!), and SO. MANY. TREATS. And, while we’ve spotted the Cinnamon-Apple lunchbox Tart already in the park, now Santa’s elves are preparing a new dessert to make the season merry and bright! The Prep and Landing Cupcake has made its return, flying into the Trolley Car Cafe this year! While the 2018 version of the cupcake had bright red icing (that was a little too much for us…we’re still doing laundry), the 2017 version had cream cheese frosting. This year’s Prep and Landing Cupcake has brought back a lighter version of the cream cheese frosting! And, the white icing is thankfully pleasing to this eyes this time around! The spiced gingerbread cake has a gingerbread filling and is topped with cream cheese frosting, festive sprinkles, a snowflake candy, and a white chocolate piece featuring Lanny and Wayne (welcome back, you guys!!). Compared to the previous cupcakes, the 2019 Prep and Landing Cupcake has a much lighter flavor. The cream cheese on top isn’t too rich and almost has a fluffy consistency. The gingerbread filling actually has a kick of cinnamon to it that we LOVED. Plus, the last lil crunch from the white chocolate piece, snowflake candy, and sprinkles are giving us energy to hop around Hollywood Studios to get MORE dessert! You can get the Prep and Landing Cupcake this year for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit! Kudos to Disney for making this cupcake a lot more palatable this year! Running a half marathon is an incredible feat itself. Running a half marathon after twice surviving Leukemia is truly miraculous. But that’s exactly what Canadian runner Boyd Dunleavey, 45, did at the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon this past Sunday. And waiting for him at the finish line with his medal? The man who saved his life – Nathan Barnes, who donated his stem cells which ultimately gave Dunleavey a new lease on life. Dunleavey was diagnosed in 2011 with a rare blood cancer – acute myeloid Leukemia – and given a 10 percent chance of surviving more than a few months without a stem cell transplant from a donor outside of his family. After Dunleavey endured a year of treatments and a cancer relapse in February 2012, doctors identified Barnes as a suitable stem cell donor. The challenge? Barnes was in Japan, stationed there as a gunners’ mate in the US Navy. But, finally, in May 2012, Dunleavey had the life-saving stem cell transplant. “When we found out it was a gentleman named Nathan, it was incredible,” said Dunleavey. “Our middle son’s name is Nathan, and it means ‘Gift of God.’” Soon after the transplant, Dunleavey began running as part of his recovery, and it quickly became a passion, partly because of his love of Disney. At last count, he has done several half marathons and seven full marathons. “I never would have run a marathon without Disney,” Dunleavey said. “January 2015 was my first, during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. I’ve run the marathon twice, multiple virtual races, four half marathons, and several 10Ks. The runDisney community is fantastic!” This past weekend, during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, that passion for running led to something even bigger. After more than seven years – while Barnes had been stationed overseas – Dunleavey and his family were finally able to meet the man who saved his life. “I had no idea you could actually feel this good about something,” Barnes said about their meeting, even before presenting Dunleavey with his medal for running 13.1 miles through Walt Disney World Resort. “My motto is ‘never lose hope,’” Dunleavey said. “Life is a special gift. We were told that with the stem cell transplant, my chances of living five years were only 30 percent. This is Year 7! Never lose hope.” View the full article

The pumpkins are gone and the ornaments and wreaths are out in Disneyland! It’s CHRISTMAS TIME, everybody!! Festival of Holidays Tasting Passport We’ve made it through the soft opening of the Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure and we got ALL THE THINGS!!! (Yay!!) Now through January 6th, 2020, the festival creates a merry atmosphere so guests can get in the holiday spirit. And, we’re ready to tell you about the eats, treats, and drinks you can’t miss this year in our Best of the Fest recommendations! If you’re hopping in your sleigh to visit the Festival of Holidays, you’ll want to start making your must eat list and checking it twice. And, the team at DFB has got you covered! We’ve tried EVERYTHING at this year’s festival so we can give you the deets on the best items at the booths. “Hot Cocoa” Marshmallow Macaron Be sure to check out our Marketplace Booth Page for a lil sneak peek at the food and drinks! Click the links for Photos of EVERY SINGLE FOOD ITEM AT THE FESTIVAL! We hope you’re hungry ‘cause we’re about to rock around the Best of the Fest! Cranberry Sangria at Holiday Duets Our first stop is at Holiday Duets with the Cranberry Sangria, which has come back for another year of fun at Festival of the Holidays! If you’re looking to start your holiday stroll off with a boozy beverage, this is definitely the drink to sip on! Cranberry Sangria with Lime Garnish The fruity flavors of the cranberry are balanced with the bitterness that comes from the red wine. Plus, adding that final spritz of lime gives the drink a hint of tartness that is delicious. I mean, you can’t go wrong with a sangria in Disney! (; Chorizo Fundido at Brews & Bites Cheese ANYTHING already scores some major DFB points. (We just really love cheese!!) Chorizo Fundido We’ve seen different quesos come and go over the years at Brews & Bites. This year, the Chorizo Fundido is a white queso served with house-made tortilla chips. While there isn’t anything too unique about the flavors, all that cheesy goodness goes so well with the salty chips! Fried Turkey Slider at Winter Sliderland Winter Sliderland is back again with a taste of a good ole’ Christmas turkey! Fried Turkey Slider While there was a Roasted Turkey Slider last year, the Fried Turkey Slider has made its debut this year with cranberry sauce and cole slaw. Although we thought the roasted version was great, the fried turkey has an extra crunch to the sandwich from the breading that was so satisfying. Can we make fried turkey a Christmas staple?? Shepherd’s Upside-Down Pie at Grandma’s Recipes Plant-based options have been a norm at the festivals in California Adventure. We’ve saw the Impossible Burger at the Food & Wine Festival earlier this year, and veggie lovers are getting another treat at the Festival of Holidays! Shepherd’s Upside Down Pie Grandma’s Recipes is cooking up the Shepherd’s Upside-down Pie! The deconstructed pie is made with mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, plant-based “meat,” and a Mickey-shaped biscuit. We might pick this over our own grandma’s recipe for shepherd’s pie tbh!! Caramelized Apple Cake at Making Spirits Bright Apple and caramel just happens to be one of the BEST dessert combos! (You know we’re right!) Caramelized Apple Cake The Caramelized Apple Cake is topped with crème anglaise and salted caramel sauce (YUM) at Making Spirits Bright this year. And, let us tell you, it made our day at Festival of Holidays even brighter. The sauces melt into the apple cake, making it incredibly moist with each bite. We kinda want one giant Caramelized Apple Cake to bring to our DFB family Christmas party! Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaron at Making Spirits Bright Hot Cocoa Flights can be spotted around the Festival of Holidays, but we keep coming back to the returning Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaron at Making Spirits Bright! “Hot Cocoa” Marshmallow Macaron The chocolate flavored cookies have a chocolate filling with a hint of marshmallow. Honestly, each bite reminded us of sitting around a campfire with our friends, eating s’mores and drinking hot chocolate in the cold. And, what’s even better — the macaron is gluten friendly!! Sooo, does that mean we can eat as many as we want now? Pork al Pastor Naan Taco at Merry Mashups Merry Mashups surprises us with something new and exciting each year by combining a bunch of ingredients for a delicious mashup! Pork al Pastor Naan Taco This year, the Pork al Pastor Naan Taco is the PERFECT afternoon snack to satisfy your stomach. The naan bread is filled with tender pork, pineapple pico de gallo, and cilantro-lime Greek yogurt crema. Although the savory, sweet, and tangy flavors seem like they might not mix, they team up to make one GREAT taco. You might want to get 2 more to make it a full meal!! EVERYTHING at Favorite Things It’s only fitting that Favorite Things is carrying some of our…favorite things…from the festival this year! We also look forward to trying a twist on some classic mac at Disney food festivals, and the Holiday Stuffing Mac and Cheese doesn’t disappoint! We were all about this returning favorite, especially with that stuffing mix sprinkled on top! Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese You can use the mac as an appetizer to the Glazed Ham Shanks. Yeah, Christmas ham might be the norm for the holidays, these bbs practically fall apart with every bite! Glazed Ham Shanks And, you can finish your cheesy and savory meal off with the HUGE Gingerbread Mickey Cookie for dessert! The spicy gingerbread tastes like the classic treat but the light coating of flood icing, holiday sprinkles, and fondant leaves gives the dessert some extra sweetness (and crunch!). We could have an ENTIRE PLATE of these cookies to ourselves. Sorry, Santa! Gingerbread Mickey Cookie Even though there are many drinks to try at the Favorite Things booth, the Warm Bourbon Cider had balanced notes of alcohol and apple cider that made us want to finish it all in one gulp! Plus, the warmth from the cider gave us a little boost to grab seconds from the booths! (; Warm Bourbon Cider Returning Favorites Sometimes you take a bite of an item, fall in love with it, and cross your fingers that it comes back again for the following year’s festival! And, we’re SO happy that these snacks are back! At A Twist on Tradition, the Reuben Potato Tots have come back again with their Russian dressing and rye toast. Crunchy, messy, salty, and savory — yeah, we can’t recommend these enough! Reuben Potato Tots with Russian Dressing and Rye Toast The Braised Pork Belly Adobo with that incredibly good garlic fried rice is back at Holiday Duets! If you want to have some great pork belly, you’ll want to grab this dish (and maybe even share it with a friend). Braised Pork Belly Adobo with Garlic Fried Rice Christmas turkey is making another round at the Merry Mashups booth with the Turkey and Stuffing Tamale! We LOVED this treat before since it was like eating a mini Thanksgiving dinner all neatly wrapped up like a Christmas gift. Turkey and Stuffing Tamale Part of the fun every year at Festival of Holidays is seeing what the Mickey and Minnie Cookies at Holiday Duets will look like! The iced sugar cookies for 2019 are a Minnie Snowwoman and Christmas lights on a Mickey Cookie Tree. They are TOO CUTE!! Mickey and Minnie Cookies There are so many other treats that have returned as well as BRAND NEW items that will make your tastebuds sing some Christmas carols. That’s all for this year’s Best of the Fest! Thanks for snacking with us!
