The 2019 Christmas season might go down in the history books as the ULTIMATE year of holiday souvenirs popcorn buckets and sippers at Disney World! Minnie’s Wonderful Christmas Time Fireworks So far, we’ve seen the Light-Up Mickey Jingle Bell Sipper, Sven Sipper, Light-Up Tree Popcorn Bucket, “Happy Holidays” Popcorn Bucket, and a returning favorite (with a slightly different outfit) — the Mickey Elf Popcorn Bucket! Now, another classic premium popcorn bucket is making its glorious comeback at Disney World! Let’s all join together to welcome back the Holiday Pluto Popcorn Bucket! We’re so happy he made it home — just in time for the holidays! Holiday Pluto Souvenir Popcorn Bucket When we first spotted the Holiday Pluto Popcorn Bucket last year, it was truly love at first sight! And now that he’s back, we’re excited to see our best doggo bud again sportin’ his little red, white and green Christmas sweater and Santa hat! Holiday Pluto Souvenir Popcorn Bucket We spotted the Holiday Pluto Popcorn Bucket chillin’ out at Disney Springs this afternoon at one of the popcorn carts. And while we were told by a Cast Member he’s filling in for the Mickey Elf Popcorn Bucket (who was sold out at this location at the moment we stopped by), we hope he’ll be around long enough to pick one up in case you slept on it last year! Which holiday souvenir sippers and popcorn buckets are you excited about adding to your collection? Let us know in the comments below! Can you get enough of Santa-inspired treats? Neither can we! Vivoli il Gelato We’ve seen tons of treats that celebrate Old Saint Nick in Disney World! There is the Santa Hat Mousse and even this Santa Mickey Waffle! Well, we found a goofy new Santa-inspired treat in Disney Springs. Here’s what we thought about the Santa Waffle at Vivoli il Gelato!! The Santa Waffle is a super cute breakfast option at Vivoli, and don’t worry, breakfast is served all day! The waffle looks just like a silly Santa Claus, complete with a banana beard! Vivoli Santa Waffle Now, this guy is cute and deliciously simple! It’s just a big waffle topped with whipped cream, strawberries, bananas, and chocolate chips all arranged to look like Santa! Vivoli Santa Waffle It might be obvious, but this is delish. Can you really go wrong with a fresh waffle, whipped cream, fruit, and chocolate? We say nope! Santa Waffle is also massive and easily shareable and he should be super fun for kiddos! We did think the $12.50 price was a littleee high, but heck it’s yummy so we’re not complaining. Vivoli Santa Waffle You can also get yo self with a few other holiday additions at Vivoli. You can also get the Ice Castle Shake which is made up of blue birthday cake gelato, milk, a donut, whipped cream, and sugar rock candy. Ice Castle Shake Of you can try out this other adorable treat — The Melting Snowman! This one is made with vanilla gelato, Fanta Berry, and whipped cream. It even has a little whipped cream snowman on top! The Melting Snowman All of these treats are available for a limited time at Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs! We’ll wait… D-Luxe Burger We recently shared with you the delicious Strawberry Shortcake Gelato Shake and Bacon & Blue Burger. Now, we’re back with two more limited-time offerings. They are currently offering a Peppermint Cookies ‘N Cream Milk Shake and a Holiday Turkey Burger. YES PLEASE! Peppermint Cookies ‘N Cream Milk Shake and a Holiday Turkey Burger No need to wait til Thanksgiving, the Holiday Turkey Burger features a turkey patty with fried butternut squash risotto, mozzarella pearls, bacon-cranberry jam, lettuce, tomato, and is served on a parker house roll. Holiday Turkey Burger Ohhhh, D-luxe Burger, you can do NO wrong! This thing was absolutely DELICIOUS. The fried squash was a surprising standout and even featured cheese INSIDE it! fried butternut squash risotto We loved the bacon-cranberry jam that added just the right hint amount of tartness. Of course, the whole thing was brought together by the moist and juicy turkey burger patty. This baby is priced at $13.49. Holiday Turkey Burger Now it’s time to balance out all that savory with sweet. Next up, the Peppermint Cookies ‘N Cream Milk Shake. Peppermint Cookies ‘N Cream Milk Shake Priced at $7.50, this was another home run for us. The shake was perfectly creamy with hints of peppermint mixed into the cookies ‘n cream flavoring. The little candy canes sprinkled throughout brought a nice crunch to the whole thing. Peppermint Cookies ‘N Cream Milk Shake We’ll keep saying yes, if D-Luxe keeps delivering! We’re not sure how long this one will last, so don’t wait on this dynamic duo! Looking for more delicious holiday treats around Disney World? Check some out here! So, you can imagine how excited we were to find that they have a holiday Peppermint Bubble Waffle!!! WHAT!? Peppermint Bubble Waffle This thing looks positively delicious. It’s a classic bubble waffle covered with a mound of mint chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate drizzle, whipped cream, and peppermint bark. If you love pepperminty flavor, this is the treat for you! Peppermint Bubble Waffle It’s also GORGEOUS. This thing looks delicious in the picture on the menu and even better in person! The peppermint bark and whipped cream look like the peaks of a Christmas mountain and makes for a big ol’ serving that is definitely shareable (if you want it to be). Peppermint Bubble Waffle Speaking of the peppermint bark, it is gosh darn DELICIOUS. Probably our favorite part of a new favorite treat. Just in case you thought you’d seen ALL of the cute holiday treats at Disneyland this year, we just spotted some of the Disney elves making one of the MOST ADORABLE Christmas goodies we’ve ever seen! Mickey Gingerbread Man Ah, yeah — it might actually steal the cuteness crown from the Mickey Gingerbread Man and other Christmas seasonal snacks we spotted earlier at Jolly Holiday! (You’ll soon see what we mean!) The Cast Members were hard at work on the newest holiday goodie when we stopped by to Marceline’s Confectionery to grab a Churro Marshmallow Wand (a.k.a. one of the MOST EXCITING treats this holiday season at Disneyland, btw!) The new caramel apple was a delightful (and somewhat familiar) shade of pink! And is that a snout and little pair of piggy ears we spy? Of course, what would Christmas be without HAMM! Santa Hamm Caramel Apple It wasn’t long before a small army of the little Hamms had amassed! When we asked a Cast Member what the ingredients were, they told us it’s granny smith apple with marshmallows for his ears, feet, and snout, dunked in caramel and then dipped in pink-colored white chocolate! Santa Hamm Caramel Apple And to top it off, the final “porky” product is given a little white chocolate coin in his piggy bank slot and a tiny red and white chocolate Santa hat! Santa Hamm Caramel Apple What a handsome lad the Santa Hamm Caramel Apple is! Could he be anymore DIVINE? Santa Hamm Caramel Apple Cast Members told us the brand new Santa Hamm Caramel Apple will be available starting this evening and the cost will be $13.99. You can find him at Marceline’s Confectionery in Downtown Disney, so swing on by for this adorable homage to our favorite Toy Story swine tonight! Calling all tamale lovers — you know who you are! Festival Cart While you’ve already seen the massive Pork Tamale at this year’s Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure, we’ve got ANOTHER tamale for you to try! You can only find this delicious goodie at the Festival Cart, so let’s head there now! The Festival Cart this year is bringing a Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale and the Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada to the party! 2019 Festival Cart Menu Here he is, all wrapped up like a beautiful tamale Christmas present! Boy — we’d love to see a pile of these underneath our Christmas tree this year! Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale Opening the paper wrapper reveals the golden corn husk — and all the deliciousness it contains! Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale For us, the masa had the perfect tamale texture. It was warm and moist, but firm enough to hold together. Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale And the shredded beef and potatoes were tossed in a tasty salsa roja which had just a slight kick to it. Initially, we didn’t get any heat from it, but the spice crept up fast! We loved Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale and would definitely get this again. It’s a perfect quick bite that fills you up! Our only complaint was that we wish it had a bit more filling! Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale The Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale costs $5.50 and is Sip and Savor eligible. If you’re looking for even MORE tamales, don’t forget to swing by Merry Mashups for their Turkey & Stuffing Tamale With Cranberry Relish — it’s a returning classic that made our Best of the Fest last year! Hot chocolate, eggnog, apple cider — we all have our favorite Christmastime drink! California Adventure Christmas Tree But, have you ever had horchata?! Filled with flavors like cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla, the milk and rice-based beverage is a delicious treat that’s irresistible! And, the holidays in Disney California Adventure are off to a great start with a dessert inspired by the seasonal drink! The Horchata Churro is being baked, not stirred, at Goofy’s Sky School Churro Cart! Churro Cart Holiday Menu The churro has cinnamon and nutmeg sugar and a condensed milk dipping sauce (!!!). Horchata Churro We LOOOOVE Disney churros. And condensed milk? Totally our jam. The churro itself is the standard churro cinnamon sugar kicked up a notch with the festive flavor of nutmeg. We’re those people that LURVE a lot of nutmeg in our egg nog or horchata so we would have loved to see even more of this especially Christmasy flavor. Horchata Churro We enjoyed the condensed milk to dip our churro in and could have happily used even more! If you’re more in the mood to actually DRINK your horchata instead of chew on it, you’re probably better off grabbing the real thing from Cocina Cucamonga for Festival of Holidays (it’s only 5 dollaaa)! Horchata Agua Fresca This wasn’t the most mind-blowing churro we’ve had the past few days (for that, again, we direct your attention to DA BOMB Pecan Pie Churro.) but it’s pretty tasty!! If you want to try the Horchata Churro for yourself, you can get one for $6.25 throughout the season. Disneyland is bringing its seasonal churro A-game this year with an all-star line up of some heavy hitter holiday flavored treats! Turtle Churro And chief among them at this year’s Christmas celebration is our dear friend, the Turtle Churro! We spotted the Turtle Churro at the Frontierland Churro Cart. There’s always room for churros in our Disneyland diet. But alas! The Turtle Churro is an exciting twist on this classic park staple — interesting to say the least! Turtle Churro The churro is dusted in dark chocolate sugar, drizzled with condensed milk, and comes with a side of caramel pecan dipping sauce. We thought that the chocolate sugar made our churro rather coarse in texture. Sadly, this kinda fought against the crunchy churro for us and made it a little gritty. If it wasn’t for the grittiness, we’d be all about the Turtle Churro. But you never know, we could have just had a bad batch! So, hopefully you won’t have the same gritty texture. Either way, we still found it be an appealing treat that peeps should enjoy, especially those dark chocolate lovers! Turtle Churro Grab your Turtle Churro for $6.25 at the Frontierland Churro Cart this holiday and season — and don’t forget to check out the other amazing Christmas churro flavors at the Disneyland Resort like the Peppermint Churro we grabbed earlier over at Disney California Adventure! At this year’s Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure, there are SO many great sweet and savory options to choose from! 2019 Festival Cart Menu One of our favorite sweet treats has been the Pecan Pie Churro (yaaaas!), but there’s another contender entering the ring! Yes friends, we’re heading back to the Festival Cart to check out the new Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada! We love how it says “dulce” on its side, which is Spanish for sweet! Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada But don’t let his sweet side fool you — the crust is super flaky, tender and, most importantly… DELICIOUS! And when you bite into its center, the sweet guava and cheese filling hits your tongue! Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada The Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada is definitely more on the sweet side than savory, but we’re diggin’ the major tropical vibes it’s serving! While the flavor of the Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada was great, the thick sticky filling was VERY sweet. The cream cheese-like filling definitely helps temper the sweetness and adds some complexity to the filling. Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada Don’t mind us, we’ll be over here scarfing cheesy creamy sweet crispy goodness! If you want even more amazing options, check out the rest of the Festival of Holidays seasonal offerings here! Moms Panel Monday: Holiday Travel Tips to Disneyland Resort
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Blogs
The holiday season at the Disneyland Resort is one of the most popular times to visit. To help plan your trip, here are our tips for visiting during the holidays! Tip #1 from Kristin is to make sure you watch ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ parade on Main Street, U.S.A. “Sometimes, we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, that we lose sight of what it’s all about. That’s why I love escaping to the Disneyland Resort this time of year! The moment I sit down on Main Street, U.S.A. with a cup of hot chocolate and my loved ones nearby, I can’t help but feel the warmth and wonder of the season. Main Street, U.S.A. is the perfect backdrop to watch my favorite Disneyland parade, ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ parade. Tony says Tip #2 must be to plan a special holiday dining experience. “Celebrating the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort has become a tradition for my family. In fact, my first-ever visit to Disneyland was on Christmas Day. To enhance those holiday memories, I recommend booking a special Dining Package or Guided Tour. My absolute favorite holiday-time memory is taking the ‘Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort’ Guided Tour. Heartwarming holiday stories combined with reserved seating for ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ parade make magical holiday memories to cherish!” Speaking of food, Jennifer reminds guests to make sure they get a Disney Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Pass. “With so many delectable eats and treats around the Disneyland Resort for the holidays, I always want to try as much as possible during my visits. One of the best ways to do just that is to grab a Sip and Savor Pass for Disney Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure park. This allows you to taste your way around the Festival Foods Marketplace locations, sampling a variety of multicultural holiday dishes. We have so much fun exploring and trying new dishes, as well as reuniting with some of our favorites here each year.” Tip #3 is one all our Disneyland Resort panelists agree on…don’t miss the holiday attraction overlays! “The holidays at the Disneyland Resort means the return of some of my favorite attraction transformations, including, ‘it’s a small world’ Holiday!” exclaims Kristin. “I love seeing the festive, whimsical decorations and regional holiday accents, all set to traditional holiday tunes! Head toward ‘it’s a small world’ Holiday after sunset to watch an even more impressive sight – the attraction’s facade lighting! During holiday evenings, you’ll get the chance to experience this special lighting every 30 minutes as thousands of twinkling lights come to life before your eyes! My family adores this memorable nighttime treat!” Don’t miss other seasonal transformations, including Haunted Mansion Holiday, Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl. And no tip list would be complete without Tip #4 – Photos! “Spending the holidays with family at the Disneyland Resort is a special experience,” says Tony. “Cherish those memories by taking home all of your Disney PhotoPass photos. Unlimited downloads of your photos are complimentary when you add Disney MaxPass to your theme park tickets.” And Kristin reminds guests not to forget about a photo with Santa Claus! “My favorite spot to meet Santa is at Santa’s Holiday Visit at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure park. I love the lush forest setting of this special meet-and-greet experience. The backdrop is just perfect for a family photo to remember! I recommend downloading the Disneyland app to help you track down Santa… you never know where his reindeer will lead him!” To learn more about the holidays at Disneyland Resort, or for general Disney vacation planning questions, visit DisneyParksMomsPanel.com for an answer from one of our panelists. Panelists receive compensation for their participation on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Disney MaxPass must be purchased per ticket per day. Disneyland is serving up ALL kinds of eats and treats for Christmastime! A Christmas Fantasy Parade There’s seafood, grilled cheese, French dip, Chicken Mole, and MORE (whew!!) ringing in the holiday season in the parks. Buuuut, we’re leaving meat behind and grabbing something a lil bit different than the norm in Adventureland! The Yellow Curry Rice Plate is being served up at Bengal Barbecue, and it looks (and smells) AH-MAZING! Seriously, just follow the intoxicating aroma of grilled meats and veggies in Adventureland and it will take you straight here! Bengal Barbecue The plant-based plate is piled with herb grilled tofu, jasmine rice, scallions, a vegetable skewer, citrus-miso slaw, and plenty of yellow curry sauce (yum!!). Bengal Barbecue Holiday Menu If spicy food is a little too much for you, don’t worry! The flavor of this dish is mild enough for all guests to enjoy! Upon first glance, the tofu looks like fish or chicken, and you almost forget that it isn’t meat. And, boy is it GOOD! Seriously, even the tofu-adverse in your group will likely enjoy this (we were surprised we did!). The curry sauce pairs wonderfully with the tofu, adding more flavor from the herbs and spices. Plus, the rice gives the soft tofu a different texture that makes our tastebuds go wild! Yellow Curry Rice Plate And yet, somehow, Disney can even make vegetables taste so good that the vegetable skewer and citrus-miso slaw are the best parts of the meal! (Wait, whaaat??) We couldn’t get enough of the seasoned potatoes on the skewer and the burst of sesame flavor from the slaw. Honestly, we could have just had a bowl of slaw and veggie skewers on the side!! Pro tip: The lime on the skewer adds a tangy kick to the Yellow Curry Rice Plate if you squeeze it onto the dish. Vegetable Skewer The curry sauce kinda mixed with everything on the plate, so you had hints of curry on everything (yes, even the veggies). We really love the flavor the curry gives each separate part of the meal. It’s just so delicious!! If you’re looking for a non-meat option in Disneyland, you’re definitely going to want to try this over the holidays. Yellow Curry Rice Plate You can get the Yellow Curry Rice Plate for $16.99 before the Annual Passholder discount for Christmas. And, trust us — you’re going to want this one all to yourself! While the majestic Christmas tree just outside of Carthay Circle is arguably the most iconic Christmas tree at Disney California Adventure, we’ve spotted a few more little trees of interest! California Adventure Christmas Tree And these little holiday trees aren’t just for looks — they’re for eatin’, too! We’re talking about the new Peppermint Tree-Shaped Cotton Candy! Its cone-like form looks strikingly similar to the Candy Corn Cotton Candy which Disney California Adventure was slangin’ this Halloween season (in fact, there were even a few of ’em left for side-by-side comparison!) Peppermint Tree-Shaped Cotton Candy But as you can see the Disney elves have swapped out the orange and yellow coloring for green! And the flavor is now peppermint — we’re imagining it’ll taste sweet AND refreshing! Peppermint Tree-Shaped Cotton Candy If you’d like to treat yo self to a Peppermint Tree-Shaped Cotton Candy, be on the lookout for it at Disney California Adventure while you make your way around to all the Festival of Holidays booths! If you’re counting down the days until you can watch the exclusive new Lady and the Tramp live-action movie when Disney launches Disney+ (its subscription live streaming service) on November 12th, then you were probably excited to see the new Lady and the Tramp-themed merch we spotted recently at Mouse Gear! Lady and the Tramp Plush Set And now we’ve spotted another piece of Lady and the Tramp merch at Disney World that we’re sitting up — and begging for, along with a bonus character MagicBand that WANT, we think you WILL! Check out the new Lady and the Tramp MagicBand we just spotted for $29.99! Lady and the Tramp MagicBand Watch the new Lady and the Tramp trailer here! We’ve been spotting a lot of new character MagicBands lately, but none have been quite as fetching as this new Lady and the Tramp MagicBand! It features the ever-so-lovely Lady alongside her rascal beau Tramp. They look sooo in love! Lady and the Tramp MagicBand Meanwhile, their brood of puppies adorns the other side along with some hearts, doggie bones and other fido accessories! This one’s a limited release, so make sure you roll over to the Magic Kingdom if ya want it! Lady and the Tramp MagicBand But that’s not all we spied! Check out the amazing new Yoda MagicBand for $24.99! Yoda MagicBand We love the striking green color of the new MagicBand featuring Jedi Master Yoda who is featured on one side of the strap — he looks like he means business! Yoda MagicBand While on the other side, you’ll find Yoda’s lightsaber and his name printed, too! This will be a fun one to sport while visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Yoda MagicBand We discovered both of the new MagicBands at Big Top Souvenirs in the Magic Kingdom today, but keep your eyes peeled for ’em throughout the Disney World parks as they’ll probably be available throughout the other places soon! Will you be buying the new Lady and the Tramp or Yoda MagicBand? Let us know in the comments section which one you’re planning on getting! If all the prehistoric partying at the Animal Kingdom’s Donald’s Dino-Bash has made you hungry as a Christmas caveman, then we’ve got a solution! Dino Diner You’ll find this tasty holiday treat right over at Dino Diner in DinoLand, U.S.A.! Animal Kingdom is going all out for the Christmas season at Walt Disney World for the very first time this year! While you’ve probably already read about their new holiday puppets and the gorgeous handpainted Tree of Life mural, it’s time to talk about their new seasonal eats — like the Peppermint Bark Churro at Dino Diner! Peppermint Bark Churro This Christmas treat is definitely Santa-approved! Served up hot and fresh — the churro is dusted with cinnamon and sugar, with just the top dipped in chocolate sauce, then sprinkled with crushed pieces of candy cane! Peppermint Bark Churro It was nice of them not to dunk the whole thing in chocolate because that would have made quite the mess! Because the churro was warm, the chocolate started melting very quickly, leaving the Peppermint Bark Churro looking a little less-than-jolly after a few moments! Peppermint Bark Churro And while the Peppermint Bark Churro tasted good, we definitely didn’t get the sense it was “peppermint bark”, so the name was a little misleading, but a cute idea! Peppermint Bark Churro The Peppermint Bark Churro costs $6.19, but for the money, we’d much rather enjoy the Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich at nearby Dino-Bites — it only costs a smidge more, and was SOOO much yummier! Are you looking forward to visiting Animal Kingdom this holiday season? Let us know which new Christmas experiences your most excited about in the comments section! For months we’ve been wondering how the Na’vi at Disney World’s Pandora: The World of Avatar would be celebrating Christmas. And now that the holiday season has officially begun at Animal Kingdom, we love seeing Pandora all gussied up for the most wonderful time of the year! Pongu Pongu Decor And while Satu’li Canteen is sporting some festive swags of garland over their outdoor seating area, they’re also cooking up a special seasonal treat just for the holidays! Check out the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse that’s just soared into Pandora! Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse The seasonal dessert features a pumpkin cream cheese mousse dome and is presented beautifully with chocolate cookie crumbles, pumpkin sauce, and cranberry boba pearls! Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse If you were fortunate enough to dine at Satu’li Canteen last Thanksgiving, you may recognize the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse — it was only available for one day as part of the Thanksgiving meal prepared by the Na’vi! Now it’s returned — and with a much larger window of time to enjoy! Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse evokes the same style of the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse — Satu’li Canteen’s signature dessert offering. No worries, though if you’re a fan of the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse — it’s still available, but now you have TWO mousses to choose from! Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse So what did WE think? This one was REALLY creamy. We didn’t really taste the cream cheese tanginess, though, because the dessert was heavy on the pumpkin spice! The little green “stem” on top was meringue, which was a nice surprise — we just wish there had been more of it somewhere! And as for the boba pearls, we didn’t get the cranberry flavor at all. They tasted more like pomegranate to us, so not really sure what was going on with that. But altogether, the dessert tasted pretty great! Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse You can find the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse at Animal Kingdom’s Satu’li Canteen for $5.49. And don’t forget to swing by Dino Bites to try our favorite holiday snack of the season — the Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich! What do you think of Pandora’s first Christmas celebration this year? If you’re looking for a sweet escape from all the savory seasonal eats at Disneyland’s 2019 Festival of Holidays, then we’ve got just the thing for you! Christmas in Disneyland You’ll find this delicious new snack over by the vending cart just in front of the Plaza Inn! Check out the new Peppermint Caramel Corn we just discovered at Disneyland! It costs $11.25 for a 16oz bag — sorry, no Annual Passholder discount on this seasonal bad boy, but it certainly looks like there’s a hefty amount we’ll be shoveling into our mouths! Peppermint Caramel Popcorn Despite only seeing a few visual traces of the peppermint, it comes through STRONG! To us, the mintiness dominated the caramel flavoring very easily. Not to say we couldn’t taste the caramel, but when you eat this treat, you’ll likely be thrown into the holiday season because of how pepperminty is it! We think it’s a fun treat to snack on as you hop from one food spot to the next during your winter visit! Peppermint Caramel Popcorn At the same vendor cart, they also had Candy Apple Cotton Candy for $5! Candy Apple Cotton Candy We love how the colors are red and green — ’tis the season, after all! And the snowflake Mickeys on the packaging are too cute! Candy Apple Cotton Candy If you’re looking for even more great holiday treats to enjoy on-the-go, be sure to check out the Nightmare Before Christmas Krispy Treat at Candy Palace! We’ve been having a blast sampling all of the new holiday menu items at Disneyland as this Christmas season officially kicks off! French Market So far we’ve feasted on the new festive offerings at Rancho del Zocalo and the new Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese Sandwich at River Belle Terrace to name just a few! Now we’re heading over to the French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square to try their new holiday Smothered Beef! The words “smothered” and “beef” are like sweet music to our ears! Cue the angel choir, folks! We’re goin’ in! Smothered Beef The entree features a generous portion of braised beef, served with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob with Cajun spices, caramelized onions, and a hefty pour of rich n’ beefy roasted garlic jus! Smothered Beef Although our plate closely resembled the sign, we didn’t see any mushrooms in the sauce which were clear in the photo. Our corn also looked a little shriveled, and the jus had become slightly gelatinous. The chorus of angels singing was growing softer by the second, but we’re holding out hope that looks aside, the Smothered Beef will still deliver on taste! Smothered Beef Luckily, the beef itself was so soft and tender that you only needed a fork to take it apart. Despite the appearance of the jus sauce, it tasted pretty good with the tasty beef, which was VERY filling and a HUGE portion! Smothered Beef The mashed potatoes were delicious and while the corn cob wasn’t particularly fresh (it tasted like it had been held for sometime after it was cooked) we enjoyed it as a side with the Smothered Beef. Had it been the star of the show, it would’ve been a letdown, but it was only playing a supportive role, so no biggie. Smothered Beef Head over to French Market Restaurant to try the Smothered Beef for yourself and see what you think. The cost is $16.49 and while it’s flavorful enough and a HUGE serving of food, we’ll likely scoot over next door to Royal Street Veranda and order a few rounds of Blue Lump Crab Fritters, next time instead! We’ve been closely monitoring the construction of the Magic Kingdom’s newest attraction TRON: Lightcycle Run! Tron Construction And while the ride isn’t slated to open until 2021 (just in time for Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration!) we’ve seen A LOT of progress over the last few days! The new TRON coaster is really beginning to take shape! We’ve seen several large pieces of the exterior track come to rest over the supports that had previously been installed over the past few days — thanks in large part to the enormous cranes we’ve seen towering over Tomorrowland for some time! Tron Construction Read more about TRON: Lightcycle Run’s costumes and ride vehicles here! The framing of the interior portion of the attraction is also coming along, as we spotted some workers up on the rooftop! Tron Construction It’s been exciting watching TRON: Lightcycle Run come together and we can’t wait to see how the U.S. version stacks up against it’s Shanghai counterpart — it’s even easier to envision whipping around on our lightcycles now that we can see the track’s layout! Tron Construction Disney has really been working hard in Tomorrowland and we’ve seen a bunch of changes like the new Traders sign! How do you feel about all of this change? We’re really looking forward to experiencing TRON: Lightcycle Run! Are you?! Will you be hopping on a lightcycle when the new TRON attraction finally opens in 2021? Let us know in the comments below!
