  1. Disney lovers around the world shifted their focus yesterday and dashed for their couches to tune into Disney+, Disney’s new live streaming service for the very first of what will be MANY TIMES! Disney+ And while the new subscription Disney+ launched only yesterday, the demand has been pretty huge! Disney reported earlier today, “Disney+, the highly anticipated streaming service from The Walt Disney Company, has already reached a major milestone, achieving a remarkable 10 million sign-ups since launching.” Do we think titles like The World According to Jeff Goldblum and The Mandalorian may have something to do with it? Yes. Yes we do. ©Disney The World According to Jeff Goldblum Find out which other Disney+ original series we’ll be binge-watching here! But of course, there’s literally almost every single Disney film and series to peruse, too — which may also be the reason for so many folks forsaking their Disney DVD and Blu-ray collections in favor of this handy streaming service. And with over 10 million subscribers, its no wonder many users were experiencing technical difficulties during its launch yesterday! ©Disney Since Disney+ is offering a free 7-day trial period, only time will tell how many of these customers will convert over to paying subscribers, but for now, happy binge-watching to all 10 million of you! Have you signed up for Disney+ yet? Let us know if you plan on subscribing (or what you’ve been watching so far if you already have!) in the comments section! Festival of the Arts We love a good Epcot festival and while we’re anxiously awaiting the start of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays on November 29, we’ve started looking ahead to the 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts. There’s a lot to do at the Festival of Arts and this year, there’s even a NEW brunch experience at one of Epcot’s most sought-after restaurants — Le Cellier Steakhouse. Le Cellier Steakhouse is one of Disney World’s most-booked restaurants and this year, the dining heavy-hitter is offering a special brunch experience during the Festival of the Arts. While you’re learning about culinary, visual, and performing art around the park; you can also indulge in this exclusive experience! Le Cellier Steakhouse Disney described the brunch as “a leisurely prix fixe bounty” and it will take place every Saturday and Sunday during the run of the festival. Now, the brunch is reservations required and Le Cellier can be an extremely hard table to get. So, if this brunch sounds up your ally, you’ll want to make those reservations ASAP! While we reported to you yesterday that Disneyland’s Snow White’s Scary Adventures would be closing sometime in 2020 to undergo an extensive refurbishment, we’ve just found out a Disneyland headliner will also be undergoing a BIG overhaul! Adventureland Entrance At Disneyland Yes, explorers — Disney’s just filed for building permit with the city of Anaheim to refurb ANOTHER major attraction! If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland in 2020 and are excited about riding Indiana Jones Adventure, you may want to prepare yourself for some disappointment. Although the dates of the attraction’s refurbishment have yet to be announced, we now know the dark rough-and-tumble thrill ride will likely be refurbished in 2020. Indiana Jones Adventure Mural According to the O.C. Register, “Disneyland crews will replace a plank bridge and its steel structure in the show set of the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction and refurbish rockwork, according to the building permit.” Ride refurbishment has been confirmed by Disney officials, and that means this headliner attraction is likely to close for at least some part of 2020. So if Indie is on your list, you should get there quick! That’s TWO Disneyland attractions we now know are getting overhauled in the last TWO DAYS! That has us wondering… will there be more? 15. Disney+ is HERE! Can you believe it?! Disney+ ©Disney It feels like we’ve been talking about this streaming service FOREVER, so we’re having a bit of a “pinch me” moment with the official launch! While the service is still in its first few days (and has been off to a bit of a rocky start!), we already have a few top picks of original programming we’re looking to binge! And while we’re PUMPED (okay a little more than pumped) about all the classic films and television shows available on Disney+, we thought we’d share the top 5 Disney+ originals that we cannot wait to watch! Lady and the Tramp A live-action remake of a classic? Amazing voice talent? The CUTEST rescue pup actors?! Check, check, and DOUBLE CHECK! The new Lady and the Tramp looks pawsitively ADORABLE. Lady and the Tramp ©Disney The tail tale might be old as time, but we’re really excited to see it retold with some real-life pups! The Mandalorian We’re pretty sure you’d have to be living under a rock not to heard of this one! Star Wars fans have been counting down the days for the original series, which follows a bounty hunter after the fall of the Empire (aka, it takes place after Return of the Jedi). The Mandalorian ©Disney This series looks out of this world (get it?), and whether you’re a Star Wars fanatic or simply have a passing interest we think this is one Disney+ original you won’t want to miss. Have you seen it yet?! What were your thoughts? Noelle Just in time for the holiday season, Disney+ has debuted a new Christmas movie! Anna Kendrick stars at the titular character Noelle, better known as Santa Claus’ daughter! The movie follows her as she hunts down her brother Nick, who has gotten cold feet and disappeared after being tasked with taking over the job of Santa! Noelle ©Disney We’re planning on curling up with some hot cocoa to watch this new flick and really thought it told a great tale about the meaning of Christmas and it instantly became a favorite. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series PHEW, that name is a mouthful! We have to admit, this series is NOT what we thought when we first heard word of it! Instead of a straight reboot of the classic Disney Channel Original Movie, this series gets seriously META. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series ©Disney In the series, a group of high-schoolers put on their own performance of ”High School Musical”, and it sounds like the drama of the stage seeps into the student’s real lives as well! We think the series should be a fun way to bring in both new fans, as well as fans of the original movies, for a truly magical ride! The Imagineering Story Wow! Talk about taking us back. This incredible new series shows a behind-the-scenes of the life of Disney Imagineers. The first episode allowed us to take a super detailed look at the opening of Disneyland thanks to wonderful footage and recordings that include Walt Disney, Mary Blair, Marc Davis, and Bob Gurr, and many more. ©Disney The episode gives an insane look at what went into building the park and the creation of some classic Disney attractions like the Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean. Honestly, I was SO drawn in and I cannot wait for the rest of the episodes! Now that Disney+ is finally here, we are so interested to see what the future holds! If you haven’t already signed up for Disney+, you can subscribe for $6.99 per month or purchase a yearly subscription for $69.99. Disney+ is also allowing folks to try out the service for free for seven days! Have you streamed anything on Disney+ yet? Are you still planning to see new Disney films in theatres or will you wait until they arrive on Disney+? Let us know in the comments below! Related posts: New Original Content Coming to Disney+! 16. It’s the second star to the right and straight on until Disney’s Beach Club Resort! Beach Club Wall Decals Every year, an integral part of the holidays comes in the form of massive gingerbread structures around Disney World. Well, the 20th Anniversary Gingerbread Carousel is here at the Beach Club and it is absolutely wonderful! Plus, it brings some tasty specialty treats with it to the nearby snack stand. Every year, the Gingerbread Carousel pops up in the lobby of the Beach Club with a new theme (last year’s was Donald Duck-themed!) and the 2019 Carousel arrived with a STUNNING Peter Pan theme today. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel It’s the 20th Anniversary of the Beach Club’s Carousel and the chefs really went all out with an exquisitely detailed creation. The top of the structure is lined with the silhouettes of London at night and there are nods to Peter Pan hidden all over the Carousel! Check out Peter Pan and the Darlings soaring through the sky. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel The Carousel has famous items from Peter Pan such as John’s glasses, Michael’s teddy, and there’s even Nana! And, in true Beach Club tradition, the horses are all named and styled after characters from the theme. On the carousel you’ll spot a Wendy horse complete with ponytail and blue nightdress. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel There’s a Peter Pan horse with that signature red feather in his cap and a depiction of the rest of the lost boys. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel On the other side, there’s a Smee horse complete with spectacles and his iconic red hat (it kind of looks like a Santa hat to us!). Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel And a Tinkerbell horse with that classic blond do’ and even massive fairy wings! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel This year, there’s even an extra horse to pay tribute to a famous Neverland pirate — Captain Hook. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel He’s missing his left hoof in favor of a glistening silver hook! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel This year’s Carousel also features 20 hidden Mickeys in honor of the 20 years of Gingerbread craftsmanship. Stop by the Beach Club to see if you can spot them all but we’ll give you a hint to get started: There’s one on the Smee horse! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel If you’re wondering just how much gingerbread goes into constructing this thing, you’re not alone! That’s why the chefs have so kindly listed all of the ingredients out for us. Along with 100 lbs of honey, 300 lbs of bread flour, 100 lbs of eggs, and more; the Carousel also uses 2,019 pieces of gingerbread! WOWZA!! There’s so much detail they even matched the gingerbread to the year! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel And don’t worry if you work up an appetite staring at this yummy structure because there are some sweet holiday treats nearby! Swing by the Hot Chocolate Bar to try out some classic hot chocolate or a special offering like the hot cocoa flight! Plus you can grab this gorgeous commemorative cookie that features Peter Pan for $6.39. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel The hot cocoa bar features a TON of toppings and all of the cocoa is made with Ghirardelli chocolate. Yummmm. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel Also in the lobby is the Gingerbread Counter where there are some other special holiday offerings in celebration of the Carousel! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel There are massive gingerbread shingles that you can take home with you. Rejects from the Carousel? We wouldn’t be surprised! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel Snack on a chocolate-dipped oreo that have classic Peter Pan characters on them. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel Or even paint your own cookie with edible icing paints! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel There’s a few diet-friendly options too for those who need them. These thin mints and gingerbread cookies are gluten-free, vegan, and kosher. Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel AND there’s some exclusive merchandise to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Gingerbread Carousel. We spotted these mugs… Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel …a cute little Christmas tree ornament… Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel …aaaannnd this stunning commemorative pin! Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel We certainly can’t get enough of looking at this gingerbread masterpiece and we’ll probably be stopping in again for the sights and tastes at the Beach Club! If you’re in Disney World this season, you don’t want to miss out on seeing the Gingerbread Carousel for yourself! Want to see more massive gingerbread structures at Disney? Click here! 21. Many anxious Disney fanatics have been eagerly awaiting the activation of Disney+, Disney’s new subscription streaming service that just debuted today! Disney+ ©Disney But some of the initial Disney+ streaming-induced euphoria has already worn off for some folks in large part due to some technical difficulties that have been plaguing the service during its first few fledging hours. While Disney+ enables its subscribers unlimited access to pretty much every single Disney and Pixar movie along with Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic- related content, (which sounds like a dream come true for just about every Disney lover we know!) the launch of Disney+ has been fraught with some hiccups. Forky Asks a Question ©Disney Many first time Disney+ users (including us!) were receiving error messages today stating the service was “unable to connect” and prompted us to try to connect again at a later time. Other users reported having difficulty finding the app in the Apple App Store while some users who preordered the service in other countries received the error message “Disney+ is only available in certain regions”. Disney+ ©Disney A spokesperson for Disney+ has made the following statement, “The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our highest expectations… While we are pleased by this incredible response, we are aware of the current user issues and are working to swiftly resolve them. We appreciate your patience.” While these problems are a bit frustrating we’re not mad at Disney+. Having this new streaming service in our lives is EPIC — especially because we can’t wait to see the Disney+ exclusive series like The Mandalorian! The Mandalorian ©Disney If you haven’t already signed up for Disney+, you can subscribe for $6.99 per month or purchase a yearly subscription for $69.99. Disney+ is also allowing folks to try out the service for free for seven days! That’s plenty of time to check out the new live-action Lady and the Tramp — and lots of other stuff, too! 22. It’s the yummiest time of year! Gingerbread, peppermint, marshmallow, you name it, we have it at Disney Springs. Of all the holiday flavors, gingerbread is my absolute favorite. There’s something so nostalgic about enjoying a classic gingerbread cookie and a cup of hot cocoa with friends and family during the holiday season. From the smell to its iconic shape, gingerbread has become a holiday tradition in our Disney Parks as well and has inspired new merchandise this year. We know our guests love their holiday foods too so our merchandise team created the Disney Holiday Park Foods Collection — a new favorite featuring all your classic park holiday treats like cookies, apples, and candy as adorable ornaments, mugs, pajamas, ears and more. This collection has perfect items for every foodie or Disney Fan on your shopping list and you can find it all at World of Disney. Who else loves the smell of gingerbread? Basin is always known for having popular scents of the season in their fresh, natural bath bombs, soaps, body scrubs, candles, and more. Don’t miss out on their cute collection of products filled with the fragrance of warm gingerbread straight from the oven. Over at The LEGO Store, I spotted this amazing brick-built LEGO Creator Expert Gingerbread House packed with seasonal charm and intricate details like a glowing fireplace! A perfect gift for the kids or the whole family to do Christmas morning. Don’t forget to treat yourself while you’re shopping—there’s plenty of gingerbread-inspired sweets and beverages for everyone’s sweet tooth. Here are a few of my favorites: Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Give it a chai! Joffrey’s Ginger Chai Madness is a Chai latte with Baileys Irish Cream and gingerbread syrup. (Also available as a non-alcoholic and iced option.) Vivoli il Gelato Treat yourself to the Gingerbread Man Shake at Vivoli il Gelato filled with gelato, milk, a waffle cone, chocolate sauce, freshly-baked gingerbread man cookie, whipped cream and sprinkles. Sprinkles Coming soon to Sprinkles is the classic Gingerbread Cupcake baked with fragrant spiced ginger cake topped with cream cheese frosting and dusted with cinnamon sugar and adorned with a gingerbread man decoration. This sweet treat will be available December 2-25. Still in need of holiday shopping ideas for everyone on your list? 25. It’s the day that so many Disney fans have waited for – Disney+ launch day! One original film that should definitely be on your “nice list” as you jump into this Disney fan must-have service is “Noelle,” an original holiday film created just for Disney+! Over the weekend, 300 Disney Parks Blog readers kicked off the holiday season by enjoying an early sneak peek at the film. Many guests dressed in their holiday best – some even in holiday “yogurt” pants – and assembled at Disney Springs AMC 24 for an advanced screening. Check out their reactions to the film below. In the Disney+ holiday comedy “Noelle,” Kris Kringle’s daughter is full of Christmas spirit and holiday fun, but wishes she could do something “important” like her beloved brother Nick, who will take over for their father this Christmas. When Nick is about to crumble like a gingerbread cookie from all the pressure, Noelle suggests he take a break and get away but when he doesn’t return, Noelle must find her brother and bring him back in time to save Christmas.
