With the dozens of attractions in Disney Parks around the country, it’s only inevitable that some will close for refurb every once in a while. Mickey Mouse Well, for those of us lucky enough to grace the streets of Disney parks this week, it’ll be pretty helpful to know what we WON’T be riding! It’s Friday, so it’s time to look at everything that’s closed for refurbishment in Disney World and Disneyland. Check out all of the attractions, restaurants, and stores that are taking a vacation of their own for the week of February 3rd through February 9th! Refurbishments in Magic Kingdom Splash Mountain As usual, we’re starting off our check-in at Magic Kingdom where Splash Mountain remains behind barriers for the time being. This annual closure is to keep the historic attraction in good shape for years to come and we should be singing “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” again on February 28th. Splash Mountain Closure Click here for everything you need to know about the Splash Mountain closure! Walt Disney World Railroad Surprisingly enough, we DID see some movement from the Walt Disney World Railroad this week but don’t get too excited. The train was moved from Main Street Station to Fantasyland Station but is still not circling the park during the day. TRON Lightcycle Run construction continues and as always we’re hoping for a reopening date a little earlier than the expected 2021. We can dream, right?! In the meantime, head over to Fantasyland for a photo op with the Lilly Belle! Lilly Belle at Fantasyland Sation Want more info on TRON Lightcycle Run? Click here! Refurbishments in Epcot Test Track and Test Track SIMporium Test Track and Test Track SIMporium remain closed over in Epcot. We’re always checking in on construction so keep an eye on the blog for updates as you wait for the scheduled February 26th reopening! Test Track construction Will you be missing Test Track while it’s gone? Click here! Refurbishments in Hollywood Studios Muppet*Vision 3D The new closure from last week continues at Muppet*Vision 3D in Hollywood Studios! In fact, we’ve even seen the removal of the Miss Piggy Fountain from the courtyard in front! Still, things seem to be coming along as the theatre is set to reopen this week! So, if you have any Disney days starting February 8th, you should be able to hang with Kermit and the gang! Muppet*Vision 3D Closed for Refurb To learn more about the Muppet*Vision 3D closure, click here! Refurbishments in Animal Kingdom Kali River Rapids And for the last closure in the main Disney World parks, we’re over in Animal Kingdom. There appears to be some heavy lifting going on over at Kali River Rapids (check out that crane!) as the refurb slowly progresses towards its set March 21st reopening date. Kali River Rapids Closure Click here to learn more about the Kali River Rapids closure! Refurbishments in Disney World Water Parks Typhoon Lagoon If you love nothing more than a water park in winter (hey, you do you), then you’ll have to look elsewhere than Typhoon Lagoon. The park is undergoing its routine winter maintenance and won’t reopen until mid-March-ish. Blizzard Beach is under normal operating conditions though, but remember, the water parks are prone to closure if temperatures get too low. Typhoon Lagoon Refurbishments in Disneyland Haunted Mansion Alright, let’s take a quick hop across the country and check out what the refurb scene is in Disneyland! First, there are a few historic attractions undergoing refurbishment in Disneyland Park. Haunted Mansion is down to remove the holiday overlay (which is now gone from the exterior) and to improve mechanics, interiors, and exteriors. We’ll be riding with the ghost host again this Spring. Haunted Mansion construction Check out everything we know about the Haunted Mansion closure! Snow White’s Scary Adventures Strolling over to Fantasyland, there’s a BIG OL’ scrim in place to hide the work being done on Snow White’s Scary Adventures. This historic attraction is actually receiving a new scene and vignette so there will be a significant change to the ride experience. A reopening date has yet to be announced but we expect this closure to be on the longer side. Snow White’s Scary Adventures construction Click here to learn more about the changes coming to Snow White’s Scary Adventures! King Arthur Carrousel And Fantasyland is pretty covered in construction barriers and scrim right now because just across the way, King Arthur Carrousel is receiving some TLC. The reopening date for this classic is TBA too so we’ll be keeping an ear to the ground. King Arthur’s Carrousel construction Want to learn more about the Carrousel closure? Click here! Mark Twain River Boat Good news for later-in-the-week travelers! February 7th should mark the reopening of Mark Twain River Boat according to Disney’s refurbishment calendar! Mark Twain River Boat Refurbishments in California Adventure Grizzly River Run and Rushin’ River Outfitters Popping over to California Adventure, Grizzly River Run and Rushin’ River Outfitters remain closed for their seasonal “Park Beautification Project.” We should see this ride reopen next week though on February 14th! Grizzly River Run Red Car Trolley Of course, Avengers Campus continues to work towards the Summer 2020 opening season, and that means that Red Car Trolley is out of commission in the meantime. Construction Wall Click here to learn more about the upcoming Avengers Campus! Refurbishments in Downtown Disney District Jamba Even Downtown Disney has a closure this week! Jamba is getting a whole new look right now and that means no juice for you! Well, not from here anyway. The location is set to reopen sometime this year. Jamba Construction Click here to read more about the changes coming to Jamba! And with Carthay Circle reopening in California Adventure, that’s all the closures in Disney World and Disneyland this week! We’ll let you know if anything changes. Are there any attractions that you’re sad to miss? Tell us in the comments! Related posts: Here’s EVERYTHING Closed for Refurbishment in Disney World AND Disneyland Next Week! Happy Friday, DFB friends! Can you believe you’ve made it through another week! Walt Disney World It’s time to slip into those comfy pants and catch up on everything that’s been going on at Disney World this week! And for those of you who don’t have a lot of time to spare (a.k.a. everybody!), we’re gonna make it really simple! Here are the 3 biggest pieces of Disney World news that happened this week! Character Meal Prices Went UP! While we were all hibernating snuggly in our beds in the wee hours of Monday morning, sweeping price increases went into effect! Almost every character dining experience offered at Disney World saw a few bucks added to their already expensive price tags! Chef Mickey While most costs for adults only went up by $1, kids’ meals saw the biggest price increases, making each character meal $3-$4 more expensive than last year. It’s not uncommon for Disney World to raise its prices for character meals year after year, but we didn’t want you guys to be caught when you saw the bill! Read more about the character meal price increases — and how they could impact your vacation HERE! Simba Popcorn BUCKET!!!!! Get ready to live your best Rafiki-standing-on-top-of-Pride-Rock-holding-baby-Simba life, ’cause the brand new Simba Popcorn Bucket has just landed in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! This little cutie can be yours for only $16.99! Simba Popcorn Bucket Speaking of paws, he’s got the cutest little nubby feet! Okay, maybe they aren’t quite little bean toes, but either way, we’re all about ’em! Those feets, tho… Check out what else has been happening at Animal Kingdom this week here! The new Simba Popcorn Bucket doesn’t hold very much popcorn, but this is more of a “form over function” situation anyways! Previously, the Simba Popcorn Bucket had been released in Hong Kong Disneyland, but we’re so excited he’s finally arrived HERE at Disney World! Find him prowling around at The Feeding Ground, Mahindi, and Corn-Ivores! Simba Popcorn Bucket Find out more about the Simba Popcorn Bucket here! The Celebration Donut is GONE! It is with heavy hearts we must tell you this sad, sad news…the huge Mickey-shaped donut which we’ve feasted on (more times than we’d care to admit to) has suddenly vanished without a trace! Wanted: Celebration Donut’s Safe Return! And while the Celebration Donut has been known to move around from time to time since it first came on the scene for Mickey’s 90th anniversary, we’ve been searching high and low for it but have come up empty-handed! It was most recently being sold at Main Street Bakery, but we’ve also seen it at The Lunching Pad and Cheshire Cafe as well! Have YOU seen this donut?!? Read more about the Celebration Donut’s mysterious disappearance HERE! Since some of our favorite snacks sometimes disappear for a while only to return days or weeks later without any explanation, we’re going to wait a little longer until we start to panic! Don’t worry — our donut detectives are working hard on the case, and hopefully, we’ll have answers SOON! Well, you’re all caught up now! We hope you have a great weekend and if you’re headed to Epcot’s Festival of the Arts, be sure to check out our 2020 Best of the Fest list HERE! What are your plans for this weekend? “Look at Mickey Mouse./ Look at Minnie Mouse./ They just live on love and chee-eeze.” —Mack Gordon & Harry Revel, “It’s the Animal in Me” Collegiate football star and WWII hero Meryll Frost said in 1946, “They say behind every great man there’s a woman. While I’m not a great man, there’s a great woman behind me.” That phrase has been used so often since, and probably become a giant cliché, but in observing Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse over nearly the past century, the one without the other seems somehow…off. Minnie may not simply be “the mouse behind her man” (she’s proven pretty stalwart on her own)—but the couple complements each other as characters, as personalities, as performers, as co-stars—and as tender romantics. “Over the years Minnie has often been the impetus of the story for Mickey; the goal or prize he’s fighting to obtain,” says Disney writer and historian Keith Gluck, although he adds, “Minnie has also demonstrated that she can be quite independent when she wants to be.” And, importantly, “The characters are scripted to always be in love,” according to Wayne Allwine, who provided Mickey’s voice for 32 years. In the September 30, 1933 issue of Film Pictorial magazine, Walt Disney was asked if his two stars were married. He explained, “A lot of people have written to him asking this question because sometimes he appears to be married to her in his films and other times still courting her. What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady. If the story calls for a romantic courtship, then Minnie is the girl; but when the story requires a married couple, then they appear as man and wife.” Although it was kept a secret for nearly a decade, Mickey’s voice from 1977 to 2009, Wayne Allwine, was actually married to Minnie’s voice from 1986 to 2019, Russi Taylor. Disney Legends Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor for decades brought their humor, music, personality, and fun to Mickey and Minnie Mouse. © Disney “When we got married, we kind of kept it quiet, because everybody was saying, ‘Oh, Mickey and Minnie got married,’” Allwine recalled. “It wasn’t Mickey and Minnie; it was Wayne and Russi. We wanted to keep it about us and not about the characters.” But the closeness and bond between voices and characters was surely echoed in their performances, as well as in the way they perceived Mickey and Minnie as a reflection of their own personalities, talents, and emotions. Walt Disney and Lillian Disney across four decades, sharing life, love, and laughter. © Disney In that way, too, it’s been observed that this legendary animated romance foundationally shares characteristics with Walt Disney and his wife, Lilly—since after all, they were both responsible for the creation of the cartoon couple. The story of Mickey’s conception during a long, disappointed transcontinental railroad trip in 1928 is the stuff of legend. With Oswald the Lucky Rabbit gone, Walt relied on his “best friend and severest critic”—Lilly was right there, supporting Walt, listening to his ideas, and even gently guiding him to his new movie star’s name, Mickey (and away from Walt’s idea of “Mortimer”). Lilly and her sister-in-law, Edna, even secretly painted cels for the first Mickey (and Minnie) cartoon ever made, “Plane Crazy,” in the late summer of 1928, in the garage of their house on Lyric Avenue, near the Hyperion Avenue Studio. It’s fairly certain that Walt was as coy as Mickey in romance. When he and Lilly first met, for instance, he would frequently offer to drive her home, along with another ink-and-paint girl, in the studio’s Ford roundabout. Walt always dropped Lillian off last, even though her home was closer. Lillian enjoyed that Walt wanted to spend more time with her. Walt and Lilly also had a marriage based firmly in the unique bond forged by the magical mixture of love and laughter. Frequently, their good-natured sparring surrounded Walt’s beloved hats. Through the 1930s and 1940s, Walt was rarely without a favorite fedora. “When asked to ‘fix’ his hat, Walt would often respond with an exaggerated crush of the hat on his head. Lilly would occasionally abscond with his hat, sailing it far out of reach before Walt could rescue it from her clutches,” says writer and Disney aficionado Reed Milnes. Another of Walt’s hats, a worn and rumpled favorite, annoyed Lilly terribly. On her birthday in 1941, Walt presented her with a beautiful arrangement of violets cascading out of and over a low vase. When she removed the flowers, the “vase” was revealed to be that annoying favorite hat—preserved in bronze, with the crown-shaped into a heart. (Walt must have gloried in his loving joke, and shared it with his artists—in the 1941 Mickey Mouse short The Nifty Nineties, one of the advertisements on the house curtain during a Vaudeville Show scene reads “Walter D’s hats that please.”) As always, the Mickey and Minnie’s romance is off the tracks in their newest collaboration, an all-new innovative ride-through attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, premiering at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in March. © DisneyLike all the humans behind the creation of Mickey and Minnie, the success of this beloved and loving pair comes from their own love of Mickey and Minnie. “There’s an approval factor from the characters to the public,” Russi Taylor said. “They don’t judge you. They never will. And I think that’s a thing that people want, and that keeps people coming back for more. It’s love. And people want love.” This February, Disneyland park will host Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite, two separately ticketed evening events granting guests of all ages special after-hours park access to dancing, character greetings, photo ops, entertainment, event-themed menu selections, limited-release merchandise, attractions, commemorative keepsakes and more. The February 13 event is sold out. Tickets for the February 12 event are still available online through February 11, 2020—subject to availability. View the full article

Nestled at the front of Main Street, U.S.A., Tony’s Town Square Restaurant is one of the hidden gems of Magic Kingdom Park. Here, you can relive the romance of Disney’s 1995 animated classic “Lady and the Tramp” in a charming turn-of-the-century trattoria where the famous love-struck pups shared their first plate of spaghetti and meatballs. With its whitewash balustrades, French doors, and expansive front porch, Tony’s classic Italian restaurant is the perfect spot for hopeless romantics and pasta-lovers alike! Start your meal off with one (or more!) dishes from the antipasti menu like the Caprese with vine-ripened tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. Or if you’re looking for a light seafood appetizer, Tony’s is also known for their crispy calamari served with spicy house-made pickles and herb aïoli. For the main course, you’ll find a variety of Italian dishes such as pizza pies, meatballs, and a variety of pastas. Tony’s pizza pies come topped with a blend of cheeses as well as your choice of pepperoni, sausage, or garden vegetables and make for a perfect shareable entrée! The Roman-style steak is another great option with spinach and ricotta ravioli, heirloom tomatoes, wilted chard, hazelnut, and lemon Parmesan crema, or you can chow down on the classic chicken parmigiana featuring lightly-breaded chicken breast topped with provolone and Tony’s marinara sauce served over freshly-made thin spaghetti and local vegetables. Of course, you won’t want to miss out on the pasta! Choose from options like chicken fettuccine alfredo or ravioli and house-made gnocchi primavera, both topped with your choice of grilled chicken breast or grilled jumbo shrimp. The scampi pasta is also a popular dish which features fresh linguine pasta made from scratch in-house and tossed with shrimp, classic butter sauce, Parmesan, and fresh vegetables. And you can never go wrong with good ol’ spaghetti and meatballs! Your freshly-made thin spaghetti can be topped with your choice or hand-rolled pork-beef meatballs or Italian sausage. If you’re looking for a plant-based option, you can even order mushroom meatballs! For dessert, end your meal with a sweet treat that you won’t forget. Try a cannoli with ricotta cream-filled shells and powdered sugar or perhaps the Tiramisù featuring espresso-soaked sponge cake layered with mascarpone sweet cream and served with chocolate sauce. There’s even a yummy chocolate cupcake option for the kiddos! Whether it’s for lunch or dinner, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant is a must-try spot for anyone visiting Magic Kingdom Park. Treat your date, your family, or even yourself to an incredible meal here, and you’ll never forget it! Hey, everyone, we’re back with another update from Epcot! Bacon Cheeseburger Sunshine Seasons has a great variety of food, but if you just want a good, old-fashioned burger, then this will be a welcome sight for you. The Chef’s Special comes with two Potstickers, either Orange Chicken or Mongolian Beef, and Chicken Fried Rice for $15.98. You can also get a Honeydew Boba Tea for $6.98. As I shared back in December, Disney PhotoPass Service recently reached its 15th anniversary, and we’re celebrating all throughout 2020 with special limited-time photo opportunities around Walt Disney World Resort! We’re continuing the celebration with a set of new nighttime Magic Shots available after dark from February 1 – April 19, 2020. Check them out below, and take note of where they’ll be available during this timeframe. In front of the Tree of Life on Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park Near Once Upon a Time on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios At the end of Main Street, U.S.A. before the hub at Magic Kingdom Park Extended by popular demand! This Magic Shot is still available at the main entrance of Epcot. But we’re not stopping there! Our photographers love capturing photos with immersive props that help you tell a story with your photos. One of my favorite examples of this kind of prop is the Tinker Bell lantern in the UK pavilion at Epcot. With props like these, our photographers’ creativity truly shines! When we brainstormed photo ops we could offer during our 15th anniversary celebration, another glow prop became an obvious choice. Beginning Valentine’s Day (it’s February 14 for those of you caught unprepared), a photographer near Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom Park will offer a prop featuring Cinderella’s glass slipper after the sun goes down. This prop combined with the stunning backdrop of Cinderella Castle – all expertly captured by our photographers – is the perfect opportunity for you to capture a unique keepsake. We’re hard at work creating more ways you can celebrate the anniversary with us this year, so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog and Disney PhotoPass Instagram page to see what special photo ops will be available during your next visit. Parks, attractions, entertainment or character experiences may change operating hours; close due to refurbishing, capacity, weather, special events, character availability or other reasons; and otherwise change or be discontinued without notice and without liability to the owners of the Walt Disney World Resort. Opening on March 4, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway invites guests to zip away on a zany adventure through a cartoon universe crammed with surprises. But before the train can leave the station, our cast members need to learn how to operate in a world where mouse rules apply. We recently celebrated a TRAIN–ing milestone with trainers beginning to onboard the opening team cast members for this exciting new attraction. But in a cartoon world, anything can happen and there’s sure to be an unexpected twist or two. Check out the video below to see who joined the railroad crew for the day and stay “tooned” for more peeks into #DisneyCastLife as they chug along full steam ahead to opening day at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. You may know that Remy, one of the two adult-exclusive restaurants on Disney Cruise Line, features subtle nods to the Disney•Pixar film “Ratatouille” and its star, Remy. But did you know the menu in this French-inspired restaurant is curated, in part, by one of the world’s 10 best chefs, Chef Arnaud Lallement? In a list compiled by “Le Chef” and voted on by two and three-star Michelin chefs, Chef Arnaud was recently named one of the world’s best chefs based upon the values of the cooking profession and the exceptional cuisine featured in their restaurants. In addition to Remy, Chef Arnaud is world renowned for his Michelin three-star restaurant, L’Assiette Champenoise, just outside Reims, France. Chef Arnaud collaborates with Chef Scott Hunnel, from the award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at Walt Disney World Resort, to create a menu at Remy that features superior products and seasonal ingredients sourced from around the world. With gourmet cuisine and a unique approach to wine service, in which guests are invited to meet with a sommelier to taste and pre-select their wines for the evening, Remy melds classic and contemporary styles into a sophisticated new dining concept. Dinner at Remy is a lavish and leisurely affair, starting with a signature chilled Taittinger Champagne cocktail made tableside, followed by eight to nine small courses. The restaurant offers two stellar wine lists: a special French list, with 200 vintages from most every region in France, and Remy’s Vault, a separate and exclusive wine list with rare wines from all over the world. Whether it’s a special occasion or you just want to experience a menu curated by one of the world’s top 10 chefs, be sure to add Remy to your itinerary the next time you’re on board the Disney Fantasy or Disney Dream. Bon appétit! View the full article

We’re at the Disney World parks A LOT for our jobs. Hey, gotta earn a livin’ somehow! Hollywood Studios And because of how frequently we visit, we sometimes encounter some strange problems — like THIS ONE we’re about to tell you about! You see, we’ve arrived at Hollywood Studios before it opened several times to secure a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance. (This is for research purposes, OF COURSE!) But sometimes, despite being physically inside the park before 7 AM, our My Disney Experience app doesn’t register us as being in the park. We’ve ended up with this error message on many occasions. My Disney Experience App Glitch Even though we are literally standing on Hollywood Boulevard staring at the Chinese Theater in front of us, the app won’t recognize us as actually being inside the park. And since it doesn’t think we’re in Hollywood Studios, it won’t allow us to reserve a boarding group! Rise of the Resistance And with Boarding Groups still filling up very quickly, it’s kind of frustrating when the app glitches you virtually out of the park. So is this common? YES. Cast Members have told us this glitch is a very regular issue for folks who frequently visit the Disney World parks. Now what should YOU do if, for some reason, your My Disney Experience app doesn’t recognize that you’re in the park when you’re trying to secure a boarding pass? First of all — don’t panic! Second: take a screen shot of the message you’re getting on the app about not being in the park, and then find a nearby Guest Experience Team Cast Member or head directly to Guest Relations (which is on your left as you enter Hollywood Studios!). Guest Experience Team Stands This problem with the app is occurring often enough that Cast Members are aware of the situation and know how to handle it! They will assist by manually adding you into a boarding group once they check to make sure you were inside the park at a time when boarding groups were being distributed (they can confirm this by scanning your magic band and seeing what time you tapped into the park) and check that your app is indeed telling you that you’re not in the park and you are thus unable to add yourself to a boarding group. DFB TIP: If you remember to take a screen shot on your phone of the time you tried to get into a boarding group, and a screen shot of the erroneous message you’re getting about not being in the park, cast members may even be able to add you to the boarding group that was filling at that exact time. (That’s what’s happened to us most of the time.) We screen shot EVERYTHING. ;-D Rise of the Resistance Something else to consider regarding boarding groups while we’re on the topic: you won’t see the same number of boarding groups assigned each day. This is not a glitch, but it’s a good thing to remember. Rise of the Resistance‘s operational delays have persisted since the ride debuted in Disney World back in December of 2019. Due to its massive scale and state-of-the-art technology, breakdowns occur with some frequency and can take a while to clear up. Because of this — and likely other factors like park hours and crowd levels — Disney is still adjusting the number of boarding groups and “backup” boarding groups they assign each day. (“Backup” boarding groups are assigned to guests after the day’s official boarding group limit has been reached. These guests may get to ride IF the attraction is still functional and IF the park is still open after all official boarding groups have been called for the day.) My Disney Experience App Backup Boarding Group Some days we’ve seen over 100 boarding groups distributed before “backup” boarding groups are begun, while other days we’ve seen significantly fewer than 100 official boarding groups. Expect the number of boarding groups to vary depending on when you visit! Rise of the Resistance Sign Official boarding groups earlier this week were gone within minutes, but we were still able to get into a back-up boarding group as late as 9 AM. Rise of the Resistance Ride Vehicle Let us know YOUR experiences in the comments! Overall, while Hollywood Studios has extended its park hours for dates all the way into March to accommodate the high-demand for Rise of the Resistance, it seems they may still have a few kinks to work out! And hey, for a ride as massive and incredible as Rise, that makes sense. We’ll keep you updated with that “you’re not in the park” problem and let you know if and when they fix that glitch! For now, May the Force Be With You while you try to snag those precious Rise of the Resistance boarding groups! It’s Super Bowl Weekend in Miami and Disney Parks is getting into the game in an even bigger way this year. Disney Parks is the presenting sponsor of the Super Bowl MVP ceremony that takes place on the field immediately after the big game Sunday night. And we are planning to make a big splash during the ceremony by teaming up with Make-A-Wish in a new way, adding something new to a magical relationship that goes back nearly 40 years. I can’t give you any more details right now, but you can be sure that we are going to create some Super Bowl-sized magic Sunday night and make some dreams and wishes come true. It’s what we’ve been doing for decades now, teaming up with a star player from the big game as part of our iconic “I’m Going to Disney World’’ campaign featuring a popular TV commercial that airs nationally shortly after the game. And we’ve been creating similar magic with Make-A-Wish, working together over the years to grant more than 140,000 life-changing wishes for children facing serious illnesses. “Disney and Make-A-Wish have been inseparable for 40 years. We’re both in the business of making wishes come true, creating lifelong memories and bringing families together,’’ said Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “We can’t think of a better way to demonstrate the power of a wish and the strength of Wish kids and their families than by making them a part of our great Super Bowl tradition.’’ The inclusion of Make-A-Wish this year in our Super Bowl campaign is an extension of our commitment to deliver comfort and inspiration to children facing serious illnesses. The first official wish granted to a Make-A-Wish child involved a trip to Disneyland Resort nearly 40 years ago. Currently, Disney helps grant more than 10,000 wishes each year for children around the world. Sunday night, we’re going make a wish come true for a star player of the Super Bowl, who will have a storybook ending to the big game when we bring him to Walt Disney World Resort on Monday for a celebratory parade and a day of fun in the parks, including a stop at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Be sure to check back here right after the game to find out which Super Bowl hero will be coming to Walt Disney World Resort and to learn more about our big Super Bowl MVP ceremony surprise. In the meantime, check out this video that pays homage to our Super Bowl tradition and our long-running relationship with Make-A-Wish. View the full article

We know better than anyone that there are a lot of ways to chow down at Disney World. A LOT. Monorail Some of our favorite ways to eat at Disney come in the form of special Dining Events. We L-O-V-E the Fireworks Dessert Parties in Magic Kingdom, and we are here for the Dining Packages for events like Fantasmic! or festival shows like Disney on Broadway or Garden Rocks! Specially ticketed dining at Disney can be super amazing. But what about those really cool experiences most people tend to overlook? Check out these three Disney Dining Experiences you’ve (probably) never heard of before! Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night First up, you might not have heard of the relatively new dining experience in Animal Kingdom — Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night. This experience is a three-hour family-friendly progressive dinner through the Harambe area of Animal Kingdom, and we had a BLAST when we went! Circle of Flavors The dinner includes three stops and each one has unique eats and entertainment. The coolest part? Circle of Flavors has a focus on conservation (much like everything else in Animal Kingdom!) and you’ll learn about the Big Five animals over the course of your night: leopards, Cape buffalo, African elephants, lions, and rhinoceroses. Leopard Station The night starts at Harambe Train Station where you get to meet your fellow dinner-goers and Cast Members while listening to some authentic African tunes from a live musician. Of course, there are eats at every stop so you’ll start off with specialty beverages, appetizers, and hors d’oeuvres — all included in the price of your tour (even alcohol)! Harambe Train Station Next, you’ll ride a train over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch where you can meet Rafiki and Timon and chow down on some more yummy small bites! Timon and Rafiki You’ll wrap up your evening back in the Harambe Market for the bulk of the good eats. There are several food stations themed around the Big Five animals so you can take your pick of what you want to try or try it all. There’s also music and storytelling to accompany your meal. Harambe Market during Circle of Flavors This is an awesome event for families or anyone who loves animals! The cuisine is also a great balance of familiar and adventurous with a ton of awesome flavors represented. We’d totally do this one again! If you haven’t heard about Circle of Flavors, you may want to put in on your radar for your next trip! Leopard Station This event runs Wednesday evenings from 6 PM to 9 PM in Animal Kingdom. And, BONUS! The dates for this event used to end in April, but you can now book all the way through May and June too! The cost is $125 for adults and $99 for kiddos aged 3-9 and Animal Kingdom tickets are required and not included. Click here to read our FULL REVIEW of Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night! Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room Tea Experience Over in Epcot, there’s another dining experience you may not have heard of before. Rose & Crown Pub offers a lot more than beer and British eats; you can also learn about the time-honored tradition of tea time with the Rose & Crown Tea Experience! Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room This experience is an awesome opportunity to learn about Twinings teas with the help of a Cast Member who is super knowledgeable about the different teas and their processes. Plus, you get to sample a bunch of different teas as well as some tea sandwiches and scones! Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room The first segment is a tasting of two teas with proper tea-brewing fully explained by a Twinings store Cast Member, then there’s the sandwich course with four sandwich samples before another two-tea course. Finally, you wrap up with scones. Of course, the whole experience is punctuated by fun facts about tea from your host. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room This dining event is available on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 9:45 AM so it’s the perfect weekend breakfast. The whole experience takes about 45 minutes which is the perfect balance between not having to rush and not using up too much of your precious park time. Plus, it’s only $35 per person plus valid Epcot admission! Want to know more about the Rose & Crown Tea Experience? Click here! Highway in the Sky Dine Around The final of our lesser-known dining experiences is definitely the biggest! We suspect many of you haven’t heard of the Highway in the Sky Dine Around that takes place at the Monorail Loop Resorts. Now, this one is definitely a little bit pricier than the others we’ve talked about but it also presents the most full experience. Highway in the Sky Dine Around This is another progressive dinner like Circle of Flavors, however, you’ll travel through all three Monorail resort hotels to dine and sight-see in a truly spectacular fashion! Starting at the Contemporary Resort, you’ll circle through the Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian Resort over the course of the evening and you’ll finish off with a beautiful (and private!) fireworks view back at the Contemporary! Highway in the Sky Dine Around Reserved Viewing Area The evening starts at The Wave… of American Flavors in the Contemporary where you’ll get to indulge in some light appetizers and drinks in a privately reserved lounge. Highway in the Sky Dine Around Reserved Lounge Seating Next up, you hop on to the Monorail for a quick zip over to Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Village Resort! Here, you’ll try out some heavier appetizers while sipping a tropical drink and looking at the island-inspired views. Bonus: you even get a lei to keep! Table Setting The main course is another Monorail ride away at Citricos, the snazzy signature restaurant in the Grand Floridian. The course here is a split main course and wine. After that, you’ll jaunt down to the Garden View Lounge for a cheese and charcuterie course with a glass of champagne. Braised Short Rib and Florida Red Snapper Dessert, however, is easily the best course with a private patio for fireworks viewing back at the Contemporary complete with a small dessert buffet, coffee, tea, and liqueurs for the adults. Wow! Highway in the Sky Finale Overall, it’s a fabulous experience that will run you $170 per person. That’s not too bad for a five-course meal with an exclusive touch and private fireworks view. You can book the Highway in the Sky Dine Around Monday through Thursday nights until the end of March. If you’re feeling like a fancy night out on the Monorail is in order and want more info, click here! All three of these options go beyond your standard dessert parties or dining packages. We love the something extra they each bring to the table and hope you found something that piqued your interest! Which of these lesser-known dining experiences sounds the most interesting to you?
