We’ve been coming up with games to stay entertained and so far we’ve figured out what your favorite snacks, attractions, and movies are! Mickey Marshmallow Wand What we REALLY want to know right now is WHO your favorite Disney park characters are! Most character dining experiences and meet and greets have been put temporarily on hold, but Disney World’s theme parks still have lots of characters out and about thanks to character cavalcades! It’s Minnie! Think of these entertainment offerings as mini-parades or special chances to see your favorite characters randomly throughout the day at each park! It seems even with his adorable butterfly net (which he’s been spotted with recently at EPCOT!), Pooh was no match for the Leader of the Club! Winnie the Pooh Frolicking Around! Joy from Inside Out has also been seen frolicking in the fields lately, and she’s managed to slip by Toy Story’s Woody with ease! Joy Strikes a Pose! Woody’s bbf Buzz Lightyear has made it through to fight another day! Let’s see if he can defeat Minnie Mouse in round two now that he’s taken down BB-8! The Japan Pavillion’s Mitsukoshi Department Store has been know to carry some pretty unusual merchandise! Will you be a cat? Will you be a dog? We were chuckling over this line of skincare masks last week that will transform your face into a dog, a cat, or even a BABY! Today we spotted a different type of face mask was in stock (and it’s a style we’re all pretty used to wearing by now!). Most of the face masks we’ve seen for sale at the parks have been disposable or have had cute characters on them, but these Japanese face masks are downright GORGEOUS! Japanese Face Masks While each Japanese face masks costs $16.95 (which is a bit steep compared to what other masks sell for) they’re so unique and SO lovely! They had many different fabrics to choose from but the floral prints were our favorites! Japanese Face Masks We also really liked this black and white mask which featured an intricate scrollwork design! Japanese Face Masks There were instructions nearby for how to care for your Japanese face masks — it looks like for the best results, you’ll only want to hand wash them! Due to the current global situation, Walt Disney World is currently operating at a limited capacity. Magic Kingdom Capacity is somewhat naturally limited, however, because there are some guests who simply cannot travel to Walt Disney World right now. Like those from certain states or countries with travel restrictions or advisories for example. Recently, we heard of a few predictions that suggest that it may take a considerable amount of time before international tourist spending in the United States returns to pre-coronavirus levels. During a recent quarterly earnings call, where various members of The Walt Disney Company discussed the results of the Company’s third fiscal quarter of 2020, we learned approximately 50% of the guest base at Walt Disney World is currently made up of guests who are traveling to the resort from a distance. That leaves approximately 50% of the guest base to be composed of locals traveling from areas that are not too far away. Tree of Life It seems that Walt Disney World, and other locations in the United States, may continue to see reduced international tourist spending for quite some time. According to the Orlando Sentinel, one expert — Christopher Thompson, president, and CEO of Brand USA — has indicated that the United States may not see spending by international tourists within the U.S. return to pre-coronavirus levels until 2024. Aerophile A number of years ago, Christopher Thompson was the head of Visit Florida, which focuses on marketing tourism to Florida. Thompson indicated that the travel industry is not just in a recession, it is in a depression, with more than 50% of the hospitality industry facing unemployment. Spaceship Earth Thompson noted that even after a vaccine is developed and released, visitors will need to feel confident about their health as they travel and during their stays at their destinations. Disney has certainly implemented a number of safety and cleanliness policies and procedures during its reopening and has been monitoring guests’ experiences with these new policies. Perhaps we will see more park passes offered to Passholders as locals and those from closer areas continue to form a larger part of Walt Disney World’s visitors until international and even domestic travel returns to pre-coronavirus levels. Another merchandise location has reopened in Animal Kingdom! Island Mercantile Even though all four of the Disney World parks have been open for a few weeks now, there are still several shopping and dining locations within the parks that remain closed. Recently, Island Mercantile reopened in Animal Kingdom. Let’s step inside this reopened Animal Kingdom merchandise spot! We were strolling through Animal Kingdom today when we noticed the doors to Island Mercantile were OPEN. This popular merchandise location is back in the business of getting guests all the best Animal Kingdom souvenirs. Island Mercantile Of course, the shop has plenty of health measures just like other locations around Walt Disney World. For one, we noted hand sanitizer dispensers near the doors. Island Mercantile There are physical distancing stickers as well, mainly placed near registers for guests to line up. It’s a pretty spacious store so it looks like crowds will be manageable inside as long as limited capacity remains in the parks. Island Mercantile It was nice to see the shelves stocked with some of our favorite Animal Kingdom merchandise once more! As that Spirit Jersey says, “Hakuna Matata!” Island Mercantile As we mentioned, the lines are carefully distanced as you head toward the registers to make sure that guests remain at least six feet apart. Island Mercantile The different checkout stations had numbered the registers too so that guests know where to stand for their safety and the safety of Cast Members. 2020 has already shaped up to be a historic year for more than one reason! So why not add on a record-breaking hurricane season to spice things up? Rain, rain, go away! We previously reported on Florida’s own hurricane season being upgraded from “active” to “hyperactive,” and now, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has upgraded their predictions for the 2020 hurricane season nationwide. This update comes just after Tropical Storm Isaias, the ninth named storm already this season, moved its way from Florida up the East Coast. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting anywhere from nineteen to twenty-five named storms this year, with seven to eleven of those storms reaching hurricane status. Of those storms, three to six of those hurricanes could potentially reach major hurricane status. Tropical Storm Isaias ©FOX 35 To give you an idea of just how MAJOR it is for the NOAA to predict that many named storms, a hurricane season produces on average twelve named storms, of which six become hurricanes and three become major hurricanes of Category 3 or above. According to the NOAA, they are looking at an 85% probability that the 2020 season will be above-normal. © NOAA So, twenty-five forecasted named storms is definitely a big deal, as the NOAA has never reached that high of a forecasted number before. While there is some doubt as to whether or not this season will actually reach twenty-five named storms, by the way the season is going so far, we may get pretty darn close. ©WESH Even if this season doesn’t produce twenty-five named storms, we’re already seeing records being broken. Since the 2020 hurricane season began in June, there have been a record-breaking nine named storms. Earlier this week, Tropical Storm Isaias moved its way up the East Coast, packing quite a punch, particularly for the Northeast. ©WESH 2 News Hurricanes are certainly not uncommon to Disney World, and can put a damper on travel plans during the weather’s more active periods of the year. If you have plans to visit Disney World between now and November, be sure to keep a close eye on the weather and be prepared for any potential storms that may come your way! The official hurricane season is scheduled to conclude on November 30. We’ve seen some…interesting merchandise lately themed to Pandora – The World of Avatar. Island Mercantile At the recent reopening of Island Mercantile, a gift shop located in Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we spotted a Pandora-themed item that definitely caught our eye. Sivako! You can now pack up your supplies for your next trip to an alien planet in this NEW Pandora — The World of Avatar fanny pack! The letters that form the word “Pandora” are each designed to look like unique items from the land including the floating mountains, a Na’vi tail, drums, and even some of the unique plants from the planet. Pandora Fanny Pack On one side of the bag, there is some special embroidery with a wood sprite at the center. Pandora Fanny Pack On the other side, there’s an Ikran, otherwise known as a Banshee. Pandora Fanny Pack The bag also features some fabric tassels on the front, adding a fun element. The level of detail in this fanny pack is actually really great. Now that Disney’s Animal Kingdom has reopened in Disney World, we’ve been doing a lot of exploring — especially inside the gift shops! Island Mercantile So far, we’ve spotted a new set of pom pom-filled Up Minnie ears and a Grape Soda mug at the park’s gift shops. Now we’re switching gears to show you a new line of Disney’s Animal Kingdom-themed clothing! Moments ago, we got in touch with our inner Disney spirit animal thanks to the new Animal Kingdom spirit jersey! That’s not all that was lying in wait to be found, though! Check out these two new styles from a new Animal Kingdom apparel line! New Animal Kingdom Apparel First up, we spotted this dark gray Animal Kingdom tank top for adults! We didn’t think our adventure to Disney’s Animal Kingdom could get any more exciting after spotting the new Grape Soda mug today! Check out what we scored at Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures in DinoLand U.S.A. today — new Up Minnie EARS!!! Up Minnie Ears We can’t even handle the excitement levels we’re feeling right now. I mean, look, they’re FILLED with at all the colorful POM-POMS! They look just like Carl’s balloons from the movie! Up Minnie Ears The new Up Minnie ears remind us of the Confetti Minnie ears we’ve also seen released recently. We love this new style of ears with plastic bubbles that can be filled with literally anything it seems! Well, at least confetti and pom-poms so far! Breakout television star and cheerleader Jerry Harris recently celebrated his 21st birthday at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Best known for his positive attitude and inspiring pep talks, Harris picked The Most Magical Place on Earth to mark this milestone year. Harris created some #DisneyMagicMoments of his own at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including a visit to the cartoon world aboard Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the park’s newest marquee attraction. “It was so special celebrating my 21st birthday at Disney with family and friends,” Harris said. “I can’t wait to visit again soon!” View the full article

France Merch Souvenirs de France, the gift shop in the back of the pavilion, next to Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, has been a treasure trove of new, adorable merchandise. We even found a new spirit jersey there and the new macaron Minnie ears! Now, we’ve spotted even more kitchen items that will help you turn your kitchen into a spot fit for a true French chef. Maybe even Remy will come to help you cook! Ooh là là Check out all of this adorable new kitchen merchandise we found! The still-new Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue opened in February in The American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT. Regal Eagle Smokehouse The fast-casual counter service spot serves up classic regional barbecue styles you can find throughout the USA, hearty sides, and a variety of craft brews (served inside the restaurant as well as the location’s outdoor bar). When it opened, a few items of Regal Eagle Smokehouse merchandise debuted along with it. And today we discovered a few new pieces have been added to the lineup. You may already recognize the Regal Eagle Smokehouse t-shirt and drinking glasses that were available upon the opening of the eatery. Recently, we heard about a new pair of Viking-inspired ears that had appeared in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT. Word must have gotten around quickly because those ears sold out lightning fast! We finally had a chance to get an up-close look at these ears ourselves! Norway Viking Ears We don’t know about you guys, but something about these ears makes us want to brave the high seas and even face off with a troll or two! Norway Viking Ears The details in these ears are super fun, from the fur at the base of the horns to the traditional Norse design on the ears themselves. What we DIDN’T expect to find today was a brand-new spirit jersey, perfect for all you Animal Kingdom fans! We may have missed this spirit jersey completely if we didn’t pay attention to the unique design of Mickey Mouse’s shorts on the front! Animal Kingdom Spirit Jersey Look closely and you’ll see his shorts are covered in a fun print! Those shorts are certainly NOT part of Mickey’s everyday outfit! Stop whatever it is you’re doing right now and meet us in France! Macaron Ears We’ve got a very important matter to discuss with you and it involves macarons! We’ve eaten macarons from EPCOT’s Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the France Pavilion at least once a week for YEARS! They’ve become a staple part of our Disney Parks diet and when Les Halles reopened, we just about shed a tear! New Macaron Collection Maybe we’re a little obsessed, but if ya know, ya know! These little treats can be really addictive! Les Halles in EPCOT is now open! Get all the need-to-know details here! If you’ve got a deep appreciation for these adorable French confections too, you’ve got to see what we’ve just discovered at EPCOT today — Macaron Minnie ears! Macaron Minnie Ears Aren’t these ears just the sweetest things you’ve ever seen in your life? As soon as we saw them, we could wait to put them on and start livin’ “la vie en rose” with our new Macaron Minnie ears — while munching on some macarons, of course! Macaron Minnie Ears We also got to hand it to the Disney — these new Macaron Minnie ears are super HEAVY! They might not be the most comfortable set of Minnie ears to wear at the parks all day, but they’re definitely high-quality! Macaron Minnie Ears As you can see, each Minnie ear is made of plastic and sculptured to look like a beautiful pink macaron! We think they nailed the pale pink hue perfectly! The Macaron Minnie ears are then polished off with a striped bow that has clear sequins for a little extra razzle-dazzle. An Eiffel Tower accent at the center of the bow completes the whole look! Macaron Minnie Ears They also say “Bon appetite” on the side! Macaron Ears We found the Macaron Minnie ears for $29.99 at Souvenirs de France today (where we spotted another new pair of France Minnie ears too!). They only had a limited number of both styles in stock and a Cast Member we spoke to told us they would likely sell out of them today, but you never know!
