  1. As some folks are soaking in those final few moments of summer, others have boldly moved on to one of the most celebrated times of the year — FALL! Disney World is starting to set the scene for the next couple of months, but we all know that it isn’t fall until we have a good ol’ Pumpkin Spice Latte in our hands. Main Street U.S.A. That’s right, the arrival of autumn means the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte! Starbucks is gearing up to release the wildly popular drink nationwide tomorrow (even though we’ve already sipped on some pumpkin goodness in Disney World!), and to celebrate, they created their own PSL Hotline! While Starbucks’ signature fall drink makes its nationwide debut tomorrow, August 25th, we’ve already spotted the return of pumpkin flavors at select Starbucks locations in Disney World! Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew If you’ve ever stopped and wondered, “Gee, I’ve always wanted to know what my personal pumpkin mantra is,” you aren’t alone! That’s why Starbucks has created a special PSL hotline you can call! Grab your phone and call 1-833-GET-FALL (that’s 1-833-438-3255). We tried it for ourselves, and it’s legit! A lovely gentleman answers the phone and provides a list of options for you to select. Press “4” to hear the word “Flannel” on repeat, or press “2” to practice your pumpkin mantra! Flannel….flannel…..flannel….. So “sip in and breathe out” and as we’ve practiced today, repeat to yourself, “I am pumpkin, I am spice, I am nice.” Here’s where we’ve already found some pumpkin goodness at Disney World! What are your thoughts on the famed PSL? Love it? Hate it? Ready to move on to Christmas already? Let us know in the comments! 2. Over the past week or so we have heralded the arrival of pumpkin-flavored EVERYTHING, including the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew at Starbucks. Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew But Halloween may ALREADY need to watch its back, because Santa is looming in the shadows, ready to pounce at a moment’s notice. And if you’ve been to The Market at Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort since the hotel’s reopening, you may already know that Christmas has quietly crept onto Disney World property…and it’s only August! The Market at Ale & Compass is a convenient counter service location at Yacht Club, perfect for that on-the-go food stop on your way to the parks. They serve Joffrey’s Coffee at The Market, to give guests their morning pick-me-ups! The Market at Ale & Compass As with many coffee locations this time of year, the seasonal lattes are front-and-center. The Market at Ale & Compass is no exception. There are actually TWO seasonal lattes available on the menu. One, of course, is pumpkin. The Market at Ale & Compass But the OTHER seasonal flavor is…are you ready for it…? Do we have everyone’s guesses in? Seasonal Latte at The Market GINGERBREAD. Yes, you heard us correctly. Gingerbread. As in, gingerbread houses that you build in DECEMBER, not (typically) August! A GINGERBREAD Latte in August! Does this mean Halloween is over already? Did we miss it? It’s not even Labor Day yet and we’re already out here sipping on a Gingerbread Latte! Gingerbread Latte Perhaps this is leftover from a Christmas in July celebration? In any case, if you’re feeling especially “jolly” on your next trip to the Yacht Club, pop into The Market at Ale & Compass and fill yourself up with some holiday cheer! The seasonal lattes go for $3.99 or $4.59, depending on which size you order. If that wasn’t enough Christmas for you, some holiday merch dropped on shopDisney today! Click here to learn more! 3. As of August 24th, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has officially reopened to guests! Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Oh, how we’ve missed the atmosphere of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort! Now that the hotel has welcomed back guests, we wanted to see how things are running. So we stopped by to take a look at Disney’s most recently reopened hotel! Now that Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has reopened, they rolled out the red carpet to welcome guests — literally! Entrance to Yacht Club Resort There was plenty of space in the lobby to keep distance between parties. We love seeing that beautiful globe once again! Yacht Club Resort Lobby There is still seating available for guests in the lobby, and there are signs on the tables reminding guests of the social distancing guidelines. Yacht Club Resort Lobby Yacht Club guests have access to a variety of recreational offerings, including the recently reopened Stormalong Bay pool, leisure pool, poolside activities, and movies under the stars! Here are the Recreational Activities at the Yacht Club! Ale & Compass Restaurant has also reopened for guests interested table service dining. Ale & Compass Restaurant The Ale & Compass Lounge has reopened as well. Here, guests will find a selection of appetizers and a wide variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks! Ale & Compass Lounge And finally, the grab-and-go location The Market at Ale & Compass is another dining option available for guests! The Market at Ale & Compass Here, guests are able to place a mobile order, and there are social distancing markers and arrows to help paries maintain their distance while inside. The Market at Ale & Compass Some dining locations at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort are still closed at the moment. Yachtsman Steakhouse has not yet reopened… Yachtsman Steakhouse …and the restaurant’s lounge, Crew’s Cup Lounge, is also still closed. Crew’s Cup Lounge And, of course, we had to take a peek at the recently reopened Stormalong Bay pool! This pool is shared by Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, and it’s one of the best parts of these hotels! It features a sand-bottomed pool, a lazy river, a 230-foot-long waterslide, and even three whirlpool spas! Stormalong Bay The quick service location at Stormalong Bay, Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill, is open for guests in search of a poolside snack. Hurricane Hanna’s The chairs in the pool area are grouped together to allow guests to leave space between themselves and other parties. Pool Chairs There’s some pretty impressive theming around the pool area — including this “shipwreck”! A “Shipwreck”! While walking towards the Friendship Boat deck, we stopped by an empty beach area to admire the peace and quiet! Not a Guest in Sight! The Friendship Boats are not currently running, so guests will need to use alternate transportation to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios for now! Friendship Boats Things were pretty quiet at Yacht Club during our visit today! As of right now, the next Disney World hotel scheduled to reopen is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on September 21st, but we’ll keep an eye out for any additional hotel updates in the meantime! 4. While Disney World continues its phased reopening, various locations around the resort are opening as well as closing to provide Guests with the most up-to-date magic possible! Disney’s Beach Club At Disney’s Beach Club Resort, the central counter service dining location has officially closed for refurbishment! But there is still a place on property to grab a quick bite to eat. Beach Club Marketplace, which serves as both a counter service dining location as well as a convenience store for quick snacks and beverages at Beach Club, is currently unavailable. Marketplace, closed for refurbishment However, if you are staying at Beach Club and looking for food without having to dine at a table service restaurant, not all is lost! You can head over to The Solarium for select food, beverage, and merchandise items. The Solarium The Solarium is a cozy room tucked away from the main thoroughfare of Beach Club, which has now been transformed into a makeshift counter service dining location. We even noticed that beverage machines were installed for Guests to grab a drink. The Solarium Snacks are plentiful here as well! From fruit to cookies and Krispie treats, there’s an assortment to choose from. The Solarium And if you’re looking for some fuel before you head into the parks for the day, there are breakfast items as well as all-day items available for purchase. The Solarium Currently, Beach Club Marketplace’s refurbishment has no announced end date, although the calendar lists it as unavailable as far out as it currently goes, which is at the moment mid-February. We’ll keep checking in on the status of this refurbishment project and we will let you know as soon as we know more about its reopening! Staying at Disney’s Yacht Club? 5. Hello and welcome to another installment in “Random Disney Deals” (which apparently is becoming a series now)! Tangled Notepad Last week, we brought you the strange phenomenon of a special deal on T-shirt Notepads, where the only notepad available was a Rapunzel one (super cute though). This week we present the tale of… …the postcard earrings. Today, we stopped by The Fjording, which is the gift shop you’ll pass as you exit the Frozen Ever After attraction in EPCOT. There, we found a SALE! Postcard earrings were $10 each when you buy two. We love a good sale on Disney merch, so we looked at what postcard earrings were available. Postcard Earrings Sale We found the Elsa postcard earrings. It’s a small postcard with a pair of themed earrings attached to them. Elsa Postcard Earrings You could mail these back home to a friend or family member. Random? OH YES. But also kinda cute? Yeah! We could definitely see a young family member or friend really enjoying receiving this little gift. Elsa Postcard Earrings But…that’s sort-of where our postcard earrings adventure ended. The Elsa postcard earrings were the only ones we could find! Were the other princess venturing into the unknown? Or maybe they were playing charades with Olaf? We get that this shop really just sells Frozen merchandise when it comes to Disney princesses, but we would have loved to have bought these and a different set of earrings featuring another character. But, if you’ve got some serious Elsa fans in the family, this may be just the deal you’re looking for! Elsa Postcard Earrings All we know is that if you want TWO sets of Elsa postcard earrings, you can get them at a discounted price right now in EPCOT. We’ll definitely be on the lookout for more strange and wonderful Disney deals and let you know what we find! Click here to check out a HUGE sale going on now on Disney merchandise online! 9. Dole Whip alert! We’re back in Magic Kingdom, specifically at Aloha Isle today on a VERY special mission. Aloha Isle We tried to score our favorite Magic Kingdom frozen treat last week but we were unsuccessful! They were out of a few of the ingredients, so we had to settle for coconut soft serve on its own. So we made sure to set our alarm this morning to make sure we were the first ones in line to be reunited with our beloved Kakamora Float! What is the Kakamora Float, you ask? It first debuted back during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2019 and we were instantly head-over-heels in LOVE. This frozen delight includes coconut soft-serve on top of pineapple juice and blue curaçao syrup (non-alcoholic!). Plus it comes with a cute l’il chocolate Kakamora Cake Pop! Kakamora Float The Kakamora Float as been a staple of ours ever since it first found its way into our hearts last year, and we have been awaiting the moment we could finally be reunited with it after Disney World’s grand reopening! Kakamora Float It was everything we remembered it being! Plus, we aren’t gonna lie, it photographs pretty darn well. Kakamora Float For $6.99, you too can be transported to Dole Whip Float bliss. Not only is the Kakamora Float back at Aloha Isle, but the “I Lava You” Float has returned to Sunshine Tree Terrace! I Lava You Float Another favorite of ours, this float features a pretty different flavor profile! Starting with orange Dole Whip, the soft-serve is blended with Fanta Strawberry and Red Passion Fruit Syrup. To top it all off, it comes with Popping Candy! While we didn’t grab one today (we were too busy re-ordering the Kakamora Float again and again), we will be sure to return posthaste! I Lava You Float The I Lava You Float is also available for $6.99. With more and more options coming back to Adventureland, the next time we visit we may never leave! 14. SeaWorld San Diego has been closed for quite some time now due to the global pandemic. ©SeaWorld But it will be reopening in a limited way very soon. SeaWorld San Diego will be reopening to the public later this week with a special “Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews” event. The event will begin on August 28th. ©SeaWorld According to the SeaWorld San Diego website, this is a limited-time, ticketed event. All guests, including Pass Members and Fun Card Holders will need a “ticket-based reservation” to attend during Zoo Days. The event will be held on Fridays through Sundays (plus Labor Day) from August 28th through September 27th. ©SeaWorld, Screenshot from SeaWorld Website As pat of the experience, guests will have access to “40 acres of SeaWorld’s expansive outdoor park grounds” and have the chance to taste some BBQ, craft and domestic beer, wine, cocktails, or non-alcoholic beverages. ©SeaWorld, SeaWorld San Diego Instagram Each Zoo Days ticket includes a tasting lanyard that will provide guests with six food or beverage items of their choice. ©SeaWorld, SeaWorld San Diego Instagram Certain open-air animal exhibits will also be open to guests including Sea Lion Point, Otter Outlook, Dolphin Point, and Explorer’s Reef Touch Pools. Some animal presentations will also be available with socially distant seating. ©SeaWorld, SeaWorld San Diego Instagram Guests will also get the chance to say hello to some of their favorite Sesame Street characters. ©SeaWorld, SeaWorld San Diego Instagram The SeaWorld website notes that there will be “enhanced health and safety measures” utilized in the park. Tickets can be bought online and are $74.99 for those 10 and older, and $64.99 for kids ages 3-9. All tickets are date specific, so you’ll need to select the day you wish to visit when you purchase the ticket. ©SeaWorld According to the SeaWorld website, “All guests, including Fun Card holders and Pass Members must purchase a date-specific ticket online and prior to arriving to the park to experience Zoo Days.” But, Fun Card Holders and Pass Members can get discounted tickets to Zoo Days. We’re curious to see what this may mean for other theme parks in California, including Disneyland. Disneyland Gate Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure are currently closed and, according to the Disney website, “will reopen at a later date, pending state and local government approvals.” Disney California Adventure Park Portions of Downtown Disney are currently open, and Disneyland Resort Hotel reservations are available for mid-September, but guests with bookings through September 12th have been asked to cancel or modify. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express Could we see limited-time, ticketed events like the one at SeaWorld over at the happiest place on Earth? Does SeaWorld San Diego’s limited reopening signal a move toward potentially reopening more locations in California? Disneyland Resort is in Anaheim, which means it may experience different complications with local laws and local approvals than SeaWorld’s experience with the city of San Diego. We’ll certainly keep you updated as to what we find. Click here to see what’s new at Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort in California. What do you think about this limited-time event? 18. Just last week, a new dining feature was added to the My Disney Experience app for Walt Disney World guests. Sanaa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge The new Mobile Dine Walk-Up Waitlist allows guests to view Table Service restaurants that have available seating for walk-up guests. That said, as a brand new feature, only two restaurants in Disney World were previously available on the walk-up waitlist: Sanaa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Topolino’s Terrace in Disney’s Riviera Resort. Today, however, two more restaurants have been added to the Walk-up Waitlist, and — as with the previous eateries — both are located in Disney World Resort hotels. Beaches and Cream Menu New to the list are Beaches and Cream (Helloooo, No Way, Jose!) at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Ale & Compass Restaurant at the newly reopened Yacht Club Resort. Walk-Up Waitlist screenshot We noticed that Ale & Compass Restaurant showed an estimated wait time of 5 minutes based on a party of 4. (It also requested that we “move closer to the restaurant” to join the walk-up list.) As a reminder, some restaurants may have walk-up availability even if they do not have the mobile capability, as noted on the app. Guests are always welcome to check with a Cast Member. Ale & Compass Restaurant ICYMI, upon the feature’s initial release, Whispering Canyon Café in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Kona Café in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort populated the waitlist, as well; however, we have not seen those two available on the feature’s list since. And, at this time, no theme park restaurants are listed. (As a reminder, to dine in a Disney World theme park Table Service restaurant during this reopening phase, guests must have a required Park Pass Reservation and an Advance Dining Reservation.) But we’ll be keeping our eyes on the new Mobile Dine Walk-Up Waitlist feature and keeping YOU posted on any further additions, so stay tuned! What do you think of this new app feature? 25. Walt Disney World guests are required to make a Park Pass reservation before entering any of the theme parks. Entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios The reservations are subject to availability and tend to run out quickly for Annual Passholders. This is especially true for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The theme park recently opened the incredibly popular new land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the brand new attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This has been a huge draw for general theme park guests and Annual Passholders alike. Given that, the Magic Kingdom tends to be the most popular theme park choice for the holidays. Usually, the park draws in big crowds due to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The Halloween event is canceled this year, but despite this, park passes ran out for Halloween at the Magic Kingdom. Now, Annual Passholders have moved on to other theme parks as their second choice. Hollywood Studios is officially booked for Annual Passholders on October 31st, 2020. ©Disney As of right now, Annual Passholders can still make a reservation on Halloween for Disney’s Animal Kingdom and EPCOT. General theme park guests and resort guests can still book any of the four theme parks for October 31st. Disney occasionally releases more park passes for Annual Passholders so we’ll continue to keep an eye out if more become available in the future.
