Shortly before Disney World’s phased reopenings began on July 11th, Disney announced that they would be cancelling Mickey’s-Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. Main Street, U.S.A. As for their winter seasonal offerings, Disney World hadn’t quite reached a decision — until today. Disney has just officially announced Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will not take place in 2020. When Disney World cancelled its Halloween festivities, they stated that they would continue to closely monitor the ever-changing environment to determine whether or not special events, parties, and festivals could take place as scheduled when the time came. And now, Disney has officially decided to cancel 2020 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Main Street at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special, ticketed holiday event that typically takes place on select evenings at Magic Kingdom starting in November and running through December. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party The official statement Disney released today states that “holiday experiences that draw big crowds will be on hiatus this year…such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Candlelight Processional at EPCOT.” Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party typically includes special character meet and greets, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Show, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, and the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. Since Disney World has put a hold on character meet and greets, nighttime spectaculars, and parades for the initial phase of their reopening, it’s not very surprising the celebration has been canceled this year, but we’ll have plenty of time to look forward to its return in 2021! Still looking to get into the Christmas spirit? Check out this sipper that will be coming back to Disney World this year! Let us know if you were hoping to go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year in the comments below! We’re looking forward to the holidays and today, we have an update on some of the festive experiences coming to Walt Disney World Resort. Building off of our recent experiences of operating in a new environment, we’ve reimagined the holidays which will, of course, apply current our current health and safety measures while still keeping the joy and magic of the season. And while things are looking a bit different at Walt Disney World and beyond, we can’t wait to celebrate with you. We know how much our guests love the holidays, so from Nov. 6-Dec. 30, they will be able to enjoy festive décor, themed merchandise, seasonal food & beverage offerings and entertainment all across Walt Disney World Resort. Holiday magic will be in full force at the four theme parks and Disney Springs, and Santa Claus will make time for special pop-up appearances at each location, waving and exclaiming holiday wishes to all. Guests will be delighted by the sight of festive flotillas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, holiday promenades at EPCOT and merry motorcades at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Character cavalcades at Magic Kingdom Park will take on a special holiday twist, with Christmas friends on festive floats in their holiday finest. Gingerbread Men? Check! Elves and Reindeer? Check, check! And, my personal favorite, the Toy Soldiers, will join the Main Street Philharmonic as they march through Magic Kingdom Park, bringing musical holiday cheer for all to hear. When night falls, special projection effects will give a festive look to Cinderella Castle this year, providing a colorful backdrop for our guests’ photos. The appearance of the iconic castle will be transformed with a rotating series of designs including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation. This will be in place of the Castle Dream Lights. Other holiday experiences that draw big crowds will be on hiatus this year as well, such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. We know these experiences are a cherished part of holiday traditions that will be missed by guests and cast members alike, but we’re glad to be able to bring holiday magic in other creative ways. Of course, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without enjoying a meal among friends and family. Minnie Mouse will be hosting a yuletide gathering for all her friends at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting Nov. 6. Santa Goofy will be there, along with Minnie and more in their holiday best. Shifting gears to Disney Springs, guests will discover Christmas around every corner as they come across a collection of elaborately-decorated Disney Christmas trees spread throughout this retail, dining and entertainment destination. In the evening, guests visiting areas within Town Center, West Side and The Landing will encounter a magical snowfall, adding an extra touch of wonder to their holiday shopping. And to top it off, Jock Lindsey will once again be turning his hangar bar into Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar complete with delightful holiday décor and a delicious limited-time menu filled with festive favorites. Disney Resort hotels will also be decked out for the holidays, with their lobbies featuring iconic trees and other festive flourishes. One thing to keep in mind is that our gingerbread displays will not return to the Resort hotels this year. While we know they are a favorite of people taking in the holiday décor, we’re not able to include those displays due to physical distancing guidelines. Starting a bit later in the season, on Nov. 27, we’ll celebrate highlights from the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Holiday kitchens will return around World Showcase promenade with favorites like American Holiday Table featuring Slow-roasted Turkey with Stuffing and Bavaria Holiday Kitchen with dishes like Cheese Fondue in a Bread Bowl. Guests will be invited to step inside World ShowPlace to enjoy the returning group, JOYFUL!, who present a journey through R&B, Gospel, contemporary and traditional Christmas and holiday music. Also, the Voices of Liberty will bring their incredible 8-part harmonies to the America Gardens Theatre stage for a special concert of favorite carols and songs of the season. There are plenty more details about this festival to come, so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog. We’re all looking forward to creating new holiday traditions with our guests and cast members this year, as we introduce unique ways to enjoy the season together. So, make your list – and check it twice – because there’s a lot of holiday fun to see and do here at Walt Disney World Resort! View the full article

Well, we’re trying up a STORM when it comes to Halloween treats today! Box of Bones Eclair We’ve already had a Scar Cupcake and seen the return of TWO of our favorite Halloween Popcorn Buckets. Next up, we’re screaming into Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try a treat that might look more on the gruesome side…but wait until you see how it TASTES! Over at Backlot Express, there’s a particularly preternatural NEW dessert in the Box of Bones Eclair for $5.49. Ahh! How spooky, it has actual BONES sticking out of the sides! Box of Bones Eclair Okay, maybe they’re not actual bones. This treat is actually a chocolate eclair with dark chocolate mousse and white chocolate bones. Oh yeah, chocolate-lovers get PUMPED. Box of Bones Eclair Well, it may not be the most Instagrammable treat in the world, but the flavors in this here pastry are to DIE for. The outside was softer than we expected but still held up pretty well and the filling was super creamy and delicious. Plus, those bones are 100% SOLID white chocolate. Box of Bones Eclair If you need us, we’ll be having a moment with this Halloween-y dessert; but not for too long because there are MORE treats to enjoy. Stay tuned as we eat our way through ALL of the Disney Halloween treats! Can’t get enough Halloween treats? Click here! Do you think YOU would like the Box of Bones Eclair? Tell us in the comments! We’re on the search for seasonal snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! And it’s not too hard to find them… Scar Cupcake After all, fall and Halloween treats have arrived at both Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios as of TODAY, and we’re still finding even more goodies at Magic Kingdom! While our first Animal Kingdom find was the Scar Cupcake (oh, yeah… you’ll want to see this one), we’re now conjuring up a mocktail AND a cocktail in the park! Pick your poison… would you like the Spooky Apple or the Rotten Apple? You can find both in Animal Kingdom… but you gotta know where to look. You can find the Spooky Apple Punch, which is a non-alcoholic drink — at Isle of Java and Flame Tree Barbecue. Angry Orchard and Fireball Cinnamon Whisky are served over ice, and garnished with a rocky candy apple straw, a Novelty Poison Apple Glow Cube, and gummy worms. The Glow Cube is included in this one for $15.00 total. Flame Tree Barbecue sign For fans of that fall combo of hard apple cider and cinnamon whiskey… well, you’ll love it, of course! Rotten Apple The cinnamon flavor wasn’t overwhelming, and is such a nice pairing with the apple cider that it’s no wonder that this is not a new combo served at the parks by any means. Rotten Apple And THAT’S what they’re brewing up around Animal Kingdom this fall! Find ALL of our Fall and Halloween treat and sip reviews right here! So… pick your poison: are you up for a Spooky Apple Punch or a Rotten Apple? We’d love to hear it! Which drink would you choose? Please let us know with a comment! The Haunted Mansion ghost recruitment committee has really stepped their game up a notch lately! Haunted Mansion We’ve seen everything from new Haunted Mansion Minnie Ears to Haunted Mansion Crocs and everything in between. It’s definitely a great time to be a Haunted Mansion fan. The Haunted Mansion was an opening day attraction in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Haunted Mansion To this day, it remains an iconic and incredibly popular attraction. Haunted Mansion Line You’ll find the attraction over in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom. Click here to check out some of the BEST Haunted Mansion merchandise we’ve spotted recently! Before you enter the Mansion itself, you’ll walk past the courtyard… The Haunted Mansion in Disney World …and into the outdoor portion of the queue. This area was added a number of years ago and features all kinds of interactive elements. It should be noted that many of these interactive elements are unavailable at the moment. Haunted Mansion Graveyard Once you exit the outdoor queue, you are invited into the Stretching Room for a pre-show where you’re reminded “There’s no turning back now.” Currently, as part of the adjustments made to this queue for social distancing, you simply walk through the Stretching Room, rather than stay there for the pre-show. The Stretching Room Once you hop aboard your Doom Buggy, you’ll get to enjoy a ride around the Mansion and get a look at its 999 happy haunts. But, we hear there’s room for 1,000 — any volunteers? ©Disney Along your trip, you’ll meet quite a few characters, including the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Hitchhiking Ghosts Loungefly Bag But, two of the most prominent characters you’ll see are Madame Leota… Madame Leota Sipper Cup …and Constance Hatchaway. Spectral Bride in The Haunted Mansion Segment You’ll find Madame Leota floating in her crystal ball in the séance room, encouraging those goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween to awaken the spirits with their tambourine! You can also spot her tombstone on the outside of the Mansion. Madame Leota Tombstone Constance Hatchaway is the bride who you’ll find in the attic near portraits of her former husbands, each of whom seem to have met a violent and rather similar demise. Haunted Mansion Constance Hatchaway Shirt It seems Constance is quite handy with an axe. If you’re curious to learn even more about these characters, click here to read all about their backstories! As we were thinking about all of our favorite characters from The Haunted Mansion, we got to wondering who the true star of the Mansion really is. So, we asked our followers on Instagram: “Who’s the REAL star of the Haunted Mansion — Madame Leota or Constance Hatchaway?” 19,817 of our followers voted on this one and here are the results…74% say Madame Leota is the star, while 26% feel Constance Hatchaway really takes the cake! Results: Who’s the Real Star of The Haunted Mansion? Let’s see what our readers had to say! Constance Hatchaway She may not have gotten the majority of the votes, but Constance Hatchaway still has some pretty serious fans! One reader even said: “I am offended by this poll result.” Constance’s Portrait in the Stretching Room ©Disney Her fans are ready to cut into the conversation to defend this spooky bride as the real star of the show! Bride Keychain We wouldn’t necessarily advise marrying Constance, but she’s definitely a fun character to admire…from a safe distance away. Want to learn more about Constance? Click here to read about her story! Madame Leota Madame Leota fans really called in the spirits and won the vote this time. We’ve joked about starting a Madame Leota fan club with all of the guests waiting in line to purchase her souvenir sipper, but it seems like the need for her fan club to materialize is becoming more and more apparent! Madame Leota Sipper Cup Madame Leota fans will be happy to know that more merchandise has been released this year featuring their favorite character. ©shopDisney We’re hoping we’ll see even more of this fan-favorite character on new items in the future! Both! Or Neither? Some of our followers, though, couldn’t bear to pick between these two amazing characters. One told us: “Don’t make me choose! I love them both!!” Haunted Mansion Others felt that another character entirely deserved to win. One follower said: “Neither. The Grave digger’s dog is the only acceptable answer.” Poor little pup! He is most definitely a very good boy. The Caretaker’s Dog Regardless of what character is your favorite, we hope you have a frightful and delightful trip to the Mansion during your next visit to the parks. Or, if you’re at home, we hope you have a wonderful Haunted Mansion shopping adventure online. If we find any more new Haunted Mansion merchandise, we’ll definitely let you know about it, so be sure to come back for all the latest Disney news! Given the recent health and safety updates, some of the most well-known Walt Disney World planning tips have gone out the window. Pandora — World of Avatar For instance, arriving at least 45 minutes prior to park opening was highly recommended if you wanted to enjoy popular attractions without waiting too long. Now, given the shorter lines, we recommend coming in later because you can avoid the morning crowds and still enjoy many of the rides. On our recent trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we noticed another interesting post-reopening phenomenon. Prior to closing, it was recommended to run to Pandora — World of Avatar and rope drop Flight of Passage. The wait for this ride would quickly climb as the morning wore on. In comparison, the other Pandora ride, Na’vi River Journey, would consistently have lower wait times. Guests usually chose to ride this attraction after Flight of Passage. Given the recent changes, things have been switched around a bit. The lines for Flight of Passage are often shorter than Na’vi River Journey. Crazy, right? Well, here are some reasons why this might be happening. Lab Portion of Flight of Passage This week, we encountered a 35-minute wait for Na’vi River Journey when Flight of Passage was only 10 minutes! This could be due to Na’vi River Journey’s slower loading process and lower ride capacity. Na’vi River Journey currently only takes one party per boat. That means solo riders will get an entire boat to themselves, leaving the rest empty. Loading one group per boat consistently slows down the boarding process. Na’vi River Journey Contrarily, Flight of Passage will seat more than one group within the ride vehicles. Each chamber fits 16 passengers and groups are separated with one bike in-between them. There are 3 levels of ride vehicles and four sections per level. So, the ride capacity is considerably larger than Na’vi River Journey. This allows for plenty of groups to be boarded at once. Flight of Passage Line Also, Flight of Passage is currently skipping one of the pre-shows to prevent large groups from congregating in a room for a long period of time. The preshow is now spread out between two rooms instead of one. The time it takes to view both pre-shows consists of loading groups in the rooms, viewing the shows, and ushering guests to the ride once both are complete. Skipping one show allows for the line to move much quicker than before. Flight of Passage Pre-Show We’ve seen these extended wait times pop up in other less popular rides as well. For example, Astro Orbiter in the Magic Kingdom often has a longer wait than it did prior to closing. The reason being, guests must take an elevator to board the attraction and Disney is only allowing one group per elevator ride. Things are a little different now and will continue to adapt as Disney updates its health and safety protocols. We’ll continue to keep a keen eye on any new developments at Disney World! Check out what’s like to ride the most popular rides at Disney World right now! Are you heading to Disney World any time soon? Let us know in the comments! So, if you’ve been following along over the past few days, you know that fall and Halloween snacks have already arrived in FULL FORCE in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket But TODAY is the day that seasonal snacks are hitting the scene at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, too! From now through October 31st (BOO!), guests can conjure up seasonal sweets, a few savory eats, and novelty items (like Sippers and Popcorn Buckets) to celebrate the autumn season! And here in Animal Kingdom, we’re digging in right away at Creature Comforts, the park’s Starbucks location. Believe it or not, we’re actually NOT picking up a Pumpkin Spice Latte this round. Nope; this time, we’re searching for something far more siniste…a Disney Villain, in fact. And we found him! Scar Cupcake at Creature Comforts The Scar Cupcake is hard to miss within the bakery case, what with his villainous visage staring out from the top — not to mention gigantic green flames surrounding him! (Seriously, it’s so big, the Scar Cupcake won’t fit in the carry-away containers, so he gets a plate!) Scar Cupcake The red velvet cupcake is filled with toasted marshmallow and topped with chocolate marshmallow frosting, chocolate krispies, white chocolate flames with green coloring, and a SCAR made of edible icing! Scar Cupcake With the ample amount of marshmallow, both in the center of the cupcake and as an ingredient in the chocolate frosting, this cupcake definitely has some elements that are very, very sweet to taste. Scar Cupcake However, that sweetness — while still present — is tempered a bit with the chocolate in the frosting (along with the fun chocolate krispies) and the cocoa flavor in the red velvet base. That red velvet cake base was the one disappointment — it was a bit dry. But the biggest texture surprise — this time, a pleasant one — came from the bit of toasted marshmallow in the center, which actually lent a fun bit of crunch…almost like a malt ball! Scar Cupcake Overall, it’s another big hit for the cupcake game in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! So, there you have it… this Disney Villain from The Lion King has received a very sweet tribute with the Scar Cupcake! It’s $5.99, and in addition to Creature Comforts you’ll also find him lurking about at Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus, too! Find ALL of our Fall and Halloween treat reviews right here! We’ve got MORE fall fun on the way for you today from Animal Kingdom… AND Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well! Halloween at Disney World has been full of delicious treats (and thankfully no tricks) this year! 2019 and 2020 Halloween Popcorn Bucket We’ve seen quite a few of our favorite popcorn buckets — including the Purple Cauldron Popcorn Bucket — make their return to the parks, and now we’ve spotted even MORE in Magic Kingdom! We’ve already spotted the Haunted Mansion wedding cake snack, and some awesome pumpkin spice-flavored treats around Magic Kingdom. So, as we walked around the park this morning, you better believe we were on the hunt for more delicious Halloween treats and merchandise! Pumpkin Spice Sundae And…we found some! At a popcorn stand in Magic Kingdom, we found that the Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket and Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket have both made their way back to the park! Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket and Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket Oogie’s a bit difficult to see from behind the plexiglass… Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket …but here’s a photo of him from last year in all his glory. Just look at his mouth! So spooky! Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket We got the Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket today and it was served to us nicely wrapped, with the popcorn on the side so we could pour it in ourselves, just like how we’ve seen it done in other spots. Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket We absolutely love the balloon shape of this popcorn bucket. It really gives you the best of all worlds — theme park balloons, Mickey Mouse, and Halloween! The top has a little leaf and stem, really selling that adorable pumpkin look. It’s all the joy of a pumpkin without the messy job of having to carve one! Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket The strap features Mickey Mouse as a jack-o’-lantern with lots of spooky spider webs all around him! Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket You can see the opening on the back of the bucket where you can pour in your delicious popcorn. Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket You can get either the Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket or the Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket with popcorn for $18. Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket We also found that you can get either of these buckets with 2 churros, instead of popcorn, if you’re more of a churro fan! Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Balloon Bucket with Churros The pictures show the churros inside of the buckets, but we learned they are actually served on the side, not inside. Oogie Boogie Bucket with Churros You can get these buckets with two churros for $22 each. Once you’re done with your popcorn or churros, you may be thirsty. If you’re looking for an AWESOME souvenir cup to hold your drink in, be sure to check out the new Madame Leota Sipper Cup! We’ll keep looking for more Halloween merchandise and Halloween treats. Currently, EPCOT is undergoing a grand and miraculous transformation. Remy’s Ratatoutille Adventure Sign One part of this transformation is the addition of a new section to the France pavilion that will be home to the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction, as well as a new crêperie called La Crêperie de Paris. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless 4D dark ride that is based on the Disney/Pixar film, Ratatouille. ©Disney The attraction itself is a replica of Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, which is a ride that is currently located in Disneyland Paris. If you want to take a virtual ride through the original attraction, click here! In this attraction, you’ll hop into a rat-shaped vehicle and “shrink down” to the size of Remy and his friends. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Ride Vehicle You’ll then go on an adventure through Gusteau’s Restaurant, encountering lots of characters from the movie along the way! You’ll also get to enjoy the sights, sounds, and delicious smells of Gusteau’s! The ride features fun water and heat effects as well, so you’ll really feel like you’re living in the world of that talented little chef. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ©Disney We’ve been carefully watching the construction progress in this new area in the France pavilion. We saw the Gusteau’s sign being put in place… Gusteau’s Sign Above Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure …and have really seen the whole area be built up. France Pavilion Construction The attraction was originally slated to open in the summer of 2020. We even saw a sign in the area that signaled it would be opening Summer 2020. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure signage before the park closures But, the blue “Opening Summer 2020” sign was later removed. Remy’s Ratatoutille Adventure Sign Due to the global pandemic, construction was halted for a time period when the Disney World theme parks were closed. Construction has since resumed, however. We’ve seen some signs that point to a hopeful opening of this area in the near future, like all of the construction progress in the new area… France Pavilion Construction …and the addition of the sign for La Crêperie de Paris. La Creperie de Paris But, it’s still unclear exactly at what point the attraction and this new area will open. So, we asked our followers on Instagram, “Do you think Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will open by the end of 2020?” We got 24,162 (!!) responses. Of the responses we received, 58% said “No Way!” while 42% said “Yeah!” Pie Chart from Readers’ Responses Let’s take a look at what our readers said! “No Way! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Will Not Open By the End of 2020!” Of the responses we got, 58% felt that there was no way this attraction would be opening by the end of the year. Construction on this project has definitely been delayed. Summer officially ends on September 22nd, which is not that far away so that summer 2020 opening seems a little out of reach, and it seems the majority of our readers felt an opening even by the end of 2020 would not be possible. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure We’ve seen construction progress quite a bit, but much of the new area is still very much a construction zone. France Pavilion Construction There is still what appears to be a light on the floor that needs to be put into place, and lots of construction equipment lying around in the areas that are being worked on. France Pavilion Construction The “Coming Summer 2020” sign was removed, and no new sign has been put in its place announcing a new opening season. As of yet, there’s no new opening date set for the attraction or the surrounding new area. France Pavilion Construction We’ll continue to keep an eye on the construction of this new area to see how it progresses. Click here for our latest Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure construction update! “Yeah! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Will Open By the End of 2020!” 42% of our readers who responded to the poll felt this attraction could open by the end of the year. We have seen things progress in this area in terms of construction. We’ve noticed new railings put in place and walkways constructed since the last time we visited. France Pavilion Construction As we mentioned before, we also saw the sign for La Crêperie de Paris recently put in place. La Creperie de Paris So, perhaps the construction is not as delayed as some think. Maybe the attraction and surrounding area are truly only a few months away from opening. One reader told us she really hopes the new ride opens before the end of 2020: “I sure hope so. I am so looking forward to it!! It is honestly the main reason I choose to go to Epcot for this (probably once in a lifetime) family trip!! I’m sure it will not be ready by next month when we go. ” Screenshot From One Day at Disney Perhaps it won’t be ready by next month, but could it be open by December? The majority of those who responded to our poll seem to think the answer to that will be “no.” We’ll keep our eyes open for any news related to this spot and let you know what we find! Click here to get a behind the scenes look at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! When do you think this new attraction and the surrounding area will open? Let us know in the comments. Name a more iconic duo than Mando and Baby Yoda. We’ll wait. ©Lucasfilm | Entertainment Weekly That’s right, folks! We’re talking The Mandalorian today as the award-winning and acclaimed TV show is set to return to Disney+ on October 30th and we can’t WAIT. Now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have a first look at the new season! Oooh! As you might know, Season 2 is set to feature some familiar faces like Din Djarin (the Mandalorian himself), Cara Dune, and Greef Karga. Oh…and The Child, of course! But the show is also reportedly getting a few big additions such as Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison who played Jango Fett in the Star Wars prequels. These haven’t been confirmed officially, but we sure hope that we get to see these new faces! ©Lucasfilm | Entertainment Weekly Showrunner Jon Favreau noted that Season 2 is going to be a lot bigger and potentially better. He notes that, “The world was really captivated by Game of Thrones and how that evolved as the characters followed different storylines.” So, Season 2 might see us following a few different plotlines with various characters. Um…that would be SO neat. ©Lucasfilm | Entertainment Weekly And yes, as we’ve mentioned, Baby Yoda (AKA The Child) will be returning in all his glory. Mando actor Pedro Pascal notes that the Season will partially focus on the challenges that Mando and The Child face as a family unit. Interestingly enough, The Child was just as much a star on set as he is on the internet. Dave Filoni, another showrunner, notes that “Everybody liked him before, but he wasn’t quite the celebrity that he was in season 2. This time, he was quite a big deal.” Yep, people go crazy for that little puppet. “Even as a puppet, you can’t walk by the Child without having an interaction,” Filoni said, “Because it’s so very sweet and innocent.” ©Lucasfilm | Entertainment Weekly You might remember that Season 1 ended with Moff Gideon pursuing Mando and The Child in possession of the black-bladed Darksaber. Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon, explained that Season 2 is going to see some seriously iconic stand-offs between his character, Mando, and The Child. He says he’ll be seen owning his cape, really owning his lightsaber, and commanding “a larger vehicle, hint-hint.” What could that mean?! ©Lucasfilm | Entertainment Weekly All in all, we’re pretty darn excited for Season 2 of The Mandalorian. The antics and adventures of our favorite heroes and villains are sure to be captivating — even if they’re not quite as captivating as Baby Yoda doing literally anything. Stay tuned for updates! Disney World is pretty consistently under construction in one way or another. Still, that constant construction saw a pretty big interruption this year with the closure of the theme parks and the subsequent halt on construction. Future World Construction Since then, we’ve seen a few projects delayed indefinitely and potentially even canceled. Still, there are some projects that march on (at least to the best of our knowledge) — and you might’ve forgotten about some of them! Here are 4 Disney World construction projects you totally forgot were underway! 1. Roundup Rodeo BBQ Did you forget that there’s a whole new table service restaurant coming to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? We don’t blame you. Well, here’s your reminder that we’ll be chowing down at Roundup Rodeo BBQ at some point in the future. Imagineers had reached the point of installing thematic elements and the entrance marquee prior to the park closures! Rodeo Roundup BBQ Concept Art ©Disney Last we heard, the new dining concept was set to open sometime in 2020, and there has yet to be any news otherwise. Hmm…it sure would be nice to be dining at this new spot by the end of the year! Click here to learn more about Roundup Rodeo BBQ! 2. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Walkway This one might not seem that exciting, but we think it’s pretty monumental! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is getting its very own walkway to Magic Kingdom! YES. How could you forget? This walkway means that all three of the monorail loop resorts will have pedestrian access to Magic Kingdom since Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort already has a walkway to Grand Floridian. Grand Floridian Walkway Sign The best part about this project is that it’s almost DONE. In fact, it’s so close to completion that a new sign was installed that confirms that the walkway will connect Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian. Ooh! We’ll be keeping a close eye to see as soon as this opens! Want a peek at the Grand Floridian Walkway? Click here! 3. Space 220 Ok, ok, don’t get us wrong. We’re still super excited about Space 220, EPCOT’s upcoming space-themed restaurant, but it’s been soooo long since it was supposed to open last winter with barely any news about how things are coming along. Can you blame us for forgetting it’s in progress sometimes? Space 220 We check in on progress on the new restaurant every time we’re in EPCOT and the exterior has looked pretty similar for a while, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t work being done that we CAN’T see. Early last month we even spotted some construction workers nearby! You can bet we’re waiting with bated breath for an updated opening from Disney so stay tuned if you are too! To learn more about Space 220, click here! 4. EPCOT Neighborhoods We would never have imagined that it would be easy to forget a piece of the EPCOT Transformation, but there’s not much about 2020 that we could’ve imagined at all. So, yeah, we tend to forget that the new EPCOT Neighborhoods are going to be a thing, and we wouldn’t be surprised if you do too! Pin Central Construction Sure, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind are still at the top of our minds (cause: NEW RIDES!); but World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery aren’t projects we think about as often. If you’re not IN EPCOT all the time like we are, it can be easy to forget that Future World is under construction at all! Still, work is certainly continuing all around Future World. Pylons by Spaceship Earth Even if you remember that the Future World construction is ongoing, you might not remember EVERYTHING that we can still expect from the transformation. As a reminder, we get to look forward to the makeover of the Wonders of Life Pavilion into the Play! Pavilion, a Festival Pavilion, and Moana Journey of Water, a new walkthrough attraction. Wonders of Life Construction Not only is most of the area still crisscrossed with construction barriers, but we’ve spotted permits for the transformation multiple times over the past few weeks. Plus, have you seen the new throwback entrance pylons? So pretty! We have to say, even though we forget about the EPCOT Neighborhoods sometimes, we’re still super happy that they’re in progress! Click here to learn more about the EPCOT Transformation! See! We told you there were some Disney projects that might have slipped your mind. Of course, you can count on us to get you the latest updates for these projects as soon as we know them, so stay tuned for all the news! Want to learn more about the construction halt? Click here! Here’s some news we can all use: new research shows that even the simple act of planning a vacation can boost your happiness and even increase your energy levels. The recent survey, from researcher Michelle Gielan, showed that 97 percent of respondents reported having a trip planned makes them happier. Seventy-one percent of respondents felt greater levels of energy when they had a trip planned in the next six months. These findings were released as part of a new travel industry-wide initiative called “Let’s Go There.” The effort, coordinated by the U.S. Travel Association, brings together major airlines, hoteliers, local destinations and other businesses part of the travel ecosystem. Disney is proud to support this initiative, which aims to spark conversation about future getaways and encourage travel planning. “The memories and experiences that travel enables cannot be replaced,” said Jill Estorino, President and Managing Director at Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, and a co-chair of the Let’s Go There Coalition. “This campaign is a first step in inspiring Americans to think about planning a vacation, and encouraging them to look forward to experiencing the wonder and joy—and even magic—that only travel can offer.” Given the benefits to planning travel, it might be the right time to start thinking about your next Disney vacation. And we have just the group to help! The planDisney panelists are a passionate group of guests with years of personal experiences planning their own Disney vacations, and they are excited and looking forward to sharing advice and tips with you! “Quite simply, the world needs more joy. When little ones light up seeing Tiana for the first time or parents witness their children find the courage to ride an attraction, or families finally get everyone together in the reunion t-shirt, that joy inspires me as a panelist.” Whenever you’re ready, we’re ready to welcome you back! It warms our heart to see Olaf — especially when he pops up on one of our snacks! School Bread We were THRILLED when School Bread made its triumphant return to EPCOT — featuring an adorable white chocolate Olaf topper! But we know that not everyone can make it to the Disney parks to get their Olaf fix. So, here’s a hack you can use to sprinkle some magic flurries on your morning drink order! We consider coffee to be an essential part of our daily routine. And now, we have a handy trick to add a dash of Disney to our drink! Instagram user @code_word_disney shared their process for ordering an “Olaf Frappuccino” from Starbucks! ©code_word_disney This drink isn’t on the menu so you’ll have to custom order it — but don’t worry, they shared their step-by-step processes for placing a mobile order for the drink: First, select a Venti Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino Add five Frappuccino Chips in the Blended Option section Choose “Regular” Caramel Drizzle in the Toppings section Add “Extra” Cinnamon Dolce Sprinkles in the Toppings section So, what makes this an “Olaf Frappuccino”? A few things! First, the look mimics the adorable snowman, with each ingredient representing a different part of him — his snowy body, coal buttons, stick arms, and carrot nose are all there, in an abstract form of course! ©code_word_disney Plus, the taste fits the “Olaf Frappuccino” criteria. This frozen treat tastes like a blended ice cream sundae and the hint of cinnamon mixed with the whipped cream and caramel definitely sounds like a warm hug to us! Hi Olaf! So, the next time you head to Starbucks for a little pick-me-up, give this drink a try to see if it’s worth melting for!
